3701 Kathy Griffin Stages Mock Assassination of President Trump, CNN Shrugs

Regular CNN New Year's Eve special host and Democrat supporter Kathy Griffin posed ISIS-style with the bloody severed facsimile head of President Donald Trump. While CNN has refused to disavow their special host, anybody not infected with a terminal case of Trump Derangement Syndrome was appalled by Griffin’s behavior. If the regressive left will not listen to reason – then social and economic ostracism is all that stands between us and a continued escalation of violence. Time Text
Hi everybody, Stefan Molyneux from Freedom Main Radio.
In the continuing series of ZOMG, I can't believe I'm saying this, on a philosophy show, we now turn our attention to Kathy Griffin.
She is a comedian for about 10 years.
She hosted CNN's New Year's Eve party, sometimes with Anderson Cooper, to whom she gave a pretend blowjob while he giggled, because, you know, I guess that's just entertainment in the 21st century.
She's got a book out.
She had a reality show, I think.
She was on Seinfeld years and years ago.
And, well, she did something culturally momentous tonight.
The repercussions will be felt for some time to come, which is why I'm going to devote just a little bit of time to this.
I strongly urge you to hang in there.
The point will be staggering.
Oh, another thing.
I remember Kathy Griffin for some years ago.
She got an Emmy, and she said, Suck it, Jesus.
This award is my God now.
I guess she's serving the guard you don't look upwards to see, metaphorically.
Now, before we get to what she did, which you probably heard of, but you see, Kathy Griffin, extraordinarily sensitive to any aggressive potential depictions of anything aggressive in politics, right?
So back in the day, this is in 2011, she tweeted this.
Watching the news?
Congresswoman in Arizona, who is on Sarah Palin's crosshairs map, was shot in the head today.
Happy now, Sarah?
So what she's referring to is part of Sarah Palin's campaign at the time.
There were these crosshairs on Democratic areas on her website.
And it was like, let's go retake these and so on.
And it's a common thing.
The Democrats have had those same things, too.
It doesn't mean go shoot people.
It's just, you know, these are our targeted areas for switching from Democrat to Republican.
And so on.
But you see, Kathy Griffin, so incredibly sensitive to any potential aggression in political discussion, political planning, or anything like that, just absolutely pulled.
Blamed Sarah Palin, it would seem, for the woman who got shot.
And then she tweeted, same time frame, I'm not trying to be funny at all.
I find that incendiary crosshairs map and the reload rhetoric to be scary.
Don't you?
Retweet.
See?
She believes, Kathy Griffin believes, that aggressive, assertive, or violent imagery anywhere in politics leads to murder, leads to an assassination attempt.
This delicate flower who just can't bear faints, gets all breathy, literally shaking, when a crazy guy shut up this congresswoman.
Because...
Set her plane and had crosshairs on her website.
This woman posed ISIS-style, holding up Trump's...
A simulacrum, obviously.
Trump's bloody, severed head.
Holding up Trump's bloody, severed head.
Like, ancient Aztec football style.
Now, she's not smiling.
I don't know how you'd make that funny.
She's not punting it.
This is...
Dead-eyed, shark-eyed, doll-eyed, staring into the camera, holding up Trump's bloody severed head.
Straight on!
Assassination porn.
The Secret Service taking this very seriously.
They've already tweeted that they're looking into it.
Now she's known to be a lefty.
She's very pally with the Dems.
Pals around with Al Franken.
The Democrats claim that she's helped raise the money and so on.
She's 56 years old.
Seems to spend a lot of her time...
Naked-ish.
She's tweeted topless pictures of herself recently like this weird anti-fappening.
I don't know.
She's trying to turn on Emmanuel Macron.
I don't know.
I don't understand.
Now, a lot of violence against Trump has been simulated in the art world.
Snoop Dogg was pretending to shoot Trump.
This Trump figure was dressed up as a clown.
Marilyn Manson in a video was beheading a Trump lookalike.
But okay, Snoop Dogg and Marilyn Manson, they're not hosting CNN's New Year's Eve party.
Although I guess I would actually watch that.
But hey...
Do you remember how insanely outraged the left-wing media was when there was this rodeo clown who wore a Barack Obama Halloween mask and he was driven out of his job and everyone involved had to take sensitivity training because, you see, they're just so sensitive.
Remember how outraged and upset that they were concerned that Donald Trump supporters might be violent, might be aggressive.
Leftists always project.
Whatever they're accusing you of, they're planning on doing.
Now this has gone on before, this kind of violent imagery.
The German magazine, Der Spiegel, showed on the cover US President, of course Donald Trump, he was beheading the Statue of Liberty, right?
So this coarseness, this violence, this aggression, this imagery...
The low and the left imagines these crosshairs on a website causing murder.
But somehow this insane, sick, I mean it's an insult to medievalism to call it medieval, ISIS style, holding up a beheaded head.
Astonishing.
A CNN employee!
Worked there for years and years and years.
Now, as of the time I'm recording this, maybe it's changed because somebody got half a brain, but as of the time I'm recording this, official silence from CNN. Nothing.
No official statement like, holy crap, that's insane.
She fired, never having her back.
They've not said a thing.
Why?
Why?
I don't know.
If I'm going to go out on a limb here, I'm going to say, well, it's because they're hoping it's just going to blow over and they won't have to take a stand.
In other words, they fundamentally may agree with her in terms of her sentiments.
Maybe.
Just maybe.
Because they're not doing this...
Any principle would be, her ass is fired.
Canned like tuna.
Done.
Unless...
You kind of have some sympathy for her, but you're kind of hoping it's going to blow over.
Tells you all you need to know about CNN. Now, there's a place called Squatty Potty, which helps you apparently squat down to poop better.
Puts your colon in the right position to eject your poop.
Now, Squatty Potty, apparently Kathy Griffin cut a commercial for them at some point, well, Squatty Potty has pulled the plug on her, so we can only hope, I guess, that CNN might one day rise to the lofty moral standards of people who help you poop better.
Sean Hannity was targeted and lost sponsors for just, what, doing reporter stuff, investigating Seth Rich's...
Somewhat questionable murder.
It's kind of what reporters are supposed to do, aren't they?
He lost sponsors and was attacked.
What's going to happen here?
Thank you.
What's going to happen here?
Now, nobody should be doing this kind of stuff.
It's gross.
It's inside of...
You know, there are unstable people out there who think that, you know, like those...
Those searchlights when discos are open.
That's Batman.
He's telling me to do stuff.
There's crazy people out there.
What message are they getting?
What message is being sent out with this kind of holding up a severed head stuff?
Nobody should be doing this stuff.
My entire public career, and privately before that, I've stood against the initiation of the use of force.
Peaceful words, language, conversation, debate.
That's what it's all about.
Now, whether she's broken laws, whether she's directly threatening a sitting president, that's up to the Secret Service, I guess, to investigate and figure out.
But hey, I have no problem with ostracism.
Economic ostracism, personal ostracism, that's how you enforce standards in a free society.
The more we can do that, the less we need a state to censor for us.
Ostracism is fine.
It's good and healthy.
Now, please, if you're going to trigger economic ostracism of people, don't misrepresent, for heaven's sakes.
Like, don't be out there calling PewDiePie a Nazi.
Not fair.
Not cool.
Definitely not cool.
But certainly not fair.
But, you know, pictures of severed heads not lying.
This is healthy.
This is right.
This is what is necessary.
You know, people think you have free speech.
Yeah, you have free speech.
That doesn't mean you have consequence-free speech.
Oh, and by the way, if you're really upset with me about the stuff that I do, I just stepped on one side here.
Wait, I'll go to this side.
Yeah, I'll go to this side.
I'm just going to step to one side here.
Here's a list of my advertisers.
You can contact them and tell them exactly what you think and how they should change.
Spoiler!
Psych!
I don't have any advertisers.
You know why?
I can see just a little bit down the road and made that decision, well, when I started about 10 years ago.
Don't have advertisers.
I rely on you.
Now, it's been a tough week for, I guess a week and a bit, for the reputation of the Democrats as a whole.
We've got Anthony Weiner just went to jail for pleading guilty to vile and horrendous sexting with a 15-year-old girl.
See, it's really horrible when Donald Trump talks about women who like famous men and are sexually available and grab the pussy.
But you see, when Anthony Weiner talks about busting a 15-year-old girl's pussy to the point where she won't be able to walk for a week, Democrats are like, hey, can we just move on?
Let's stop talking about Anthony Weiner.
No!
How about we don't?
How about we don't?
This guy was a congressman, for God's sakes.
Tried to resurrect his career.
Tim Kaine!
Remember him?
He's going to be VP under Hillary Clinton.
Tim Kaine.
His son is facing criminal charges for, and I quote, fleeing police on foot, concealing his identity in a public place, and obstructing legal process.
He was allegedly part of a violent, masked group.
Excellent.
That's some quality parenting there.
And, of course, the media whipping this.
Friends are whipping this hysteria up.
A leading young Democrat And a de Blasio administration employee.
Just hideous.
Thousands of pornographic images found on his computer, some involving baby girls as young as six months old.
His dad, a labor lawyer, Democratic insider, His dad calls his son's case a personal tragedy.
I might actually invite people not to view it as a personal tragedy, but just a little bit more of a tragedy.
For the children who were molested on camera.
He's 29 years old.
He's busted, allegedly keeping more than 3,000 of these images and 89 videos on a laptop.
This, of course, is illegal, and it shows, and I quote, young nude females between the approximate ages of six months and 16 engaging in sexual contact on an adult male.
This is according to court papers.
This guy's not a nobody.
This guy, the president of the Manhattan Young Democrats and the downstate region vice president of the New York State Young Democrats.
Yeah.
Very freaking young.
And they tried to pin this one on Trump and the right.
Even though Trump supporters reported this lunatic to the police who did nothing.
This is a Bernie supporter in Portland.
Tries to attack Muslims.
Ends up killing and wounding two whites.
Rushed to their protection.
Killed two whites and wounded another.
Guy hated Christians and Jews.
Bernie supporter.
Very much on the left.
Hey, remember when Madonna was talking about blowing up the White House?
Yeah.
Something is rotten in the state of Demrats.
I mean, these people are floating around for years.
Don't they give anyone the willies?
Doesn't anyone notice anything about anyone?
Are they so perfectly and completely masked that it's absolutely impossible to figure out that there's anything creepy about these people?
Democrats So astonishingly out of touch.
It's why they lost the election.
And Donald Trump is brilliant in this stuff.
It's why they lost the election.
So out of touch.
Kathy Griffin talks to everyone.
They chat.
They laugh.
This wasn't just a selfie with an orange wigged balloon.
This was a prop that she put together that looked like Donald Trump's severed head.
She booked a photo session.
People take photographs.
She chooses the right one.
She releases it, and not one person says, Kathy, bad idea, babe.
Bad idea.
Gotta put the brakes on this one.
Really, really not a good idea.
Nobody notices.
Nobody pushes back.
Nobody says, with the woe, Nelly.
Because they're all swimming in these weird alien waters.
So disconnected, so out of touch.
Mike Cernovich referred to this as a satanic ISIS image.
Church of Satan said, whoa, whoa, whoa, you keep us out of this!
The Church of Satan seemed to have disavowed it.
Remember when the Democrats were completely paranoid that those on the right might not accept the results of a legitimate American election?
And to pull a cliché, Paul Joseph Watson mentioned this.
I mean, imagine if some white male had a picture.
Famous celebrity, hosted among Republicans, fundraising for Republicans.
Friends of Republican lawmakers.
Some Republican celebrity, if you can imagine such a thing, who isn't a buff guy.
Some Republican celebrity holding up a picture of Barack Obama's severed head.
Shortly after the election.
They would lose their shite.
I guess like Kathy Griffin did in a commercial for How to Shit Better.
Now, I'm hoping that CNN keeps her on.
I mean, this is perfect persuasion branding levels.
I mean, people are going to be photobombing CNN with Kathy Griffin plus head assassination porn t-shirts until the end of time.
And you need to look at this.
Look at it and absorb it.
This is a presidential decapitation depiction.
I mean, it's bad enough.
She was insane about an abstract...
Gunsight on a political website targeting particular areas.
This is not a guy in a pool of blood.
This is not like that woman who tweeted a picture of Donald Trump's plane going down, I think.
This is not abstract.
This is not a target.
This is holding up a guy's sawn-off head.
Again, ISIS style.
And people overseas see this.
Terrorists overseas see this.
Political leaders overseas see this.
What does it do to their relationship?
To Donald Trump?
To America?
Now, just before I recorded this, Kathy Griffin wrote this.
Hey everybody, it's me, Kathy Griffin.
I sincerely apologize.
I am just now seeing the reaction of these images.
Right?
No internal moral standard.
I mean, if an internal moral standard would have told her it was an unholy idea to begin with.
I'm just now seeing the reaction of these images.
I'm so out of touch, I had no idea that majority of Trump supporters would find this incredibly offensive and upsetting.
No idea!
Because I swim in alien waters to the rest of America.
No idea, she says.
She says, I'm a comic.
I cross the line.
I move the line.
Then I cross it.
See, but it wasn't a joke, Kathy.
You can say, I'm a comic.
That's bullshit.
And you know it.
It's not a joke.
I mean, this is a...
I mean, everybody's had these stinging squid cowards in their life one time or another.
They brush by and you get rid of them, right?
You're ugly.
Hey, man, I was only joking.
Can't you take a joke?
Learn to have a sense of humor.
Idiots.
It's not a joke.
You're holding up POTUS's severed head.
Blood all over the place.
Staring dead serious into the camera.
That is not a joke.
Don't pull that bullshit.
Nobody believes it.
She said, I went way too far.
Ah.
See, that's not an apology, really.
I went way too far.
Okay.
So, depicting...
The brutal ISIS-style decapitation of Donald Trump, President of the United States, that's going too far.
How much too far?
What if there was no blood?
Would that have been too far?
What if his head was only somewhat half-attached to his body, say?
Would that have been too far, maybe, Kathy?
It's hard to say.
I went way too far.
What that means is she thought, I was in the right direction.
I was going the right way.
Good idea!
I just, I took it too far.
Went too far.
Went too far.
Sorry, honey.
I mean, I slept with 19 girls last weekend.
Went way too far.
She said, the image is too disturbing.
I understand how it offends people.
It wasn't funny.
I get it.
I've made a lot of mistakes in my career.
I will continue.
I ask your forgiveness.
Taking down the image.
Going to ask the photographer to take down the image.
And I beg for your forgiveness.
I went too far!
See?
Not much too far.
Just went too far.
I made a mistake and I was wrong.
Now, I don't know, I call them bean apps, bullshit, non-apologies, and this is my particular take on this.
If you've ever been on receiving one of these, it gives you a facial tick and makes me hit the eject button.
But anyway, what did you do wrong?
People were upset.
I'm sorry that you were upset.
How many times have you heard that from people who aren't really apologizing but want to blame you for not accepting their non-apology?
I'm sorry that you got so upset.
I'm sorry that you didn't understand how funny it was.
I'm sorry that I went too far.
What did she do?
Did she say anything here?
Did she do anything fundamentally wrong?
I'm sorry I took someone that you really care about, that you put your trust in, that you voted for, and held up his simulated severed head.
It's none of that.
Hey, I'm a comedian.
I push the line.
If you can handle it, you're square.
Oh, well.
I mean, I'm not surprised.
Are you?
Of course.
Of course not.
And this is the challenge.
I mean, this is where the West is.
It's in America in some ways more vivid than in other places.
But this is the left and everybody else who's not on the left.
If people on the left are saying, well, we shouldn't talk about any of our people who are Arrested and convicted or plead guilty to sexting with 15-year-olds.
We don't want to talk that much about some of the pedophilia.
We don't want to talk that much about the promotion of violence in the political context.
We don't talk about any of that stuff.
People can't see that there's something rotten on the left.
The violence.
The addiction of violence.
The shutting down of free speech.
There's a I think it was a guy in Texas.
He was trying to give a speech to a bunch of illegal immigrant protesters saying, I'm illegal!
I'm here!
Get used to it!
Well, he called ICE. Then he got threatened by one of the Democrats.
It's turning into the free-for-all of third-world parliament.
Cage match.
Except you're the one in the cage as the voter, as the taxpayer.
The left That's metastasized, in my opinion, intellectually.
They don't get it.
They don't understand.
They're so isolated.
They're so removed from reality, removed from feedback, so triggered, so crazy.
Where do you go from here in terms of social discourse?
Where do we find common ground?
Where do we have conversations?
Where do we have recent arguments?
Where do we bring evidence?
Where do we bring facts to this conversation?
You know, like the song says, you should never argue with a crazy man.
Where is the bridge between these two worlds?
How do we cross this deepening and widening canyon?
There's a chasm.
If there are significant numbers of people on the left who genuinely or fakingly have no comprehension as to why this is so horrific, how on earth can we solve these divisions with words?
Export Selection
