Tiger Woods faces DUI charges after a rollover crash in Jupiter Island, Florida, where he blew triple zeros on a breathalyzer yet refused a urinalysis while recovering from back surgery and an Achilles tendon rupture. Although no injuries occurred, Woods remains in custody until 11:00 p.m., raising questions about pain medication use and why a wealthy athlete drives personally instead of hiring a professional just days before the Masters. This incident underscores broader concerns regarding celebrity accountability and the dangers of mixing recovery with high-speed driving. [Automatically generated summary]
And news roundup information overload hour 800-941-Sean, our number.
If you want to be a part of the program, in a moment, we will go to a press conference out of Jupiter, Florida, Florida.
Tiger Woods involved in a rollover crash on Jupiter Island, according to Martin County Sheriff's Office.
We're just getting the details now.
Apparently, nobody was hurt.
This happened around 2 o'clock Eastern Time this afternoon in the same area where Tiger Woods happens to live in and around that area.
He has a golf course in and around that area.
And he had been recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon and another back surgery in October, the 15-time major champion competed for the first time in more than a year during the TGL finals where his Jupiter Lynx golf club team lost in the finals.
He'd been weighing whether he would return and play the Masters at Augusta the first major of the season.
That would be on April 9th.
Let's go to this press conference out of Jupiter, Florida, and listen in.
Department responded out there and found a pickup truck pulling a pressure cleaner trailer and a Land Rover, which was rolled over on the driver's door.
And we're going to provide you photos of that.
The investigation started and initially right off the top, it did appear that the driver of the Land Rover might be impaired.
And at that point, the chief, Chief Ewing of Jupiter Island Police Department, called me from the Martin County Sheriff's Office and asked for our assistance.
It wasn't that the Jupiter Island Police Department isn't fully capable of doing these types of investigations, but quite frankly, the Sheriff's Office has a lot more repetitions in these traffic crashes and these types of investigations.
Our investigation revealed as follows.
Shortly again before 2, the pressure cleaner truck, truck pulling a trailer, a small trailer, was northbound on South Beach Road and was pulling kind of to turn into a driveway.
It was slowing down, starting to turn into a driveway.
And the driver of that vehicle looked in his mirror and saw a Land Rover, a dark colored Land Rover, overtaking him at high speeds.
And I don't know those speeds.
The Land Rover kept overtaking him.
He saw it coming, so he tried to edge off to the side of the road, but this is a small two-lane road, and there was no shoulder for this pressure cleaner gentleman to get off the side of the road.
As he was trying to move to the side of the road, the Land Rover overtook him at the last minute, swerved to avoid a collision, but clipped the back end of the trailer of the pressure cleaner apparatus, listed to the side, and then rolled on the driver's door north past the truck that it had just avoided the crash with.
The individual driving that Land Rover was able to crawl out the passenger door of the car and was identified to be Mr. Tiger Woods.
Our DUI investigators came to the scene here, and Mr. Woods did exemplify signs of impairment.
They did several tests on him.
Of course, he did explain the injuries and the surgeries that he had.
We did take that into account.
But they did do some in-depth roadside tests.
And when it was determined, he was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County Jail.
At the Martin County jail and even on scene, we really weren't suspicious of alcohol being involved in this case.
And that proved to be true at the jail.
So Mr. Woods did a breathalyzer test, blew triple zeros.
But when it came time for us to ask for a urinalysis test, he refused.
And so he's been charged with DUI, with property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
In the crash, no one was injured.
Mr. Woods did not seem to be injured at all, and the other gentlemen were not injured.
But this is, again, this happened a few hours ago.
So I've given you the information that I have right here, right now.
So with that, let me kick it to you for questions.
I'll answer what I can answer.
Just to be clear, they're both going in the same direction.
Tiger was coming up behind the guy in the pickup with the trekker cleaner.
So the question is: were they both going the same direction?
Yes.
Both of them were in the 280 block of South Beach Road driving northbound.
The truck pulling a trailer was trying to slow down and pull over, and Mr. Woods was overtaking him at a high rate of speed before he clipped the back end and rolled his vehicle over on the driver's door.
How many times did he roll over?
So the question is, how many times did he roll over?
The answer is he didn't roll completely over.
The truck rolled to the driver's door and then just slid northbound up the road.
And again, we'll provide you some photos of that.
I know you said we don't know that exact speed.
All right, so that's it.
Tiger Woods is fine physically, but he's been placed under arrest, as you heard from the Martin County Sheriff's Office, DUI charge.
All right, there you have it.
According to Florida law, I believe that if you are taken into custody and suspected of DUI and you wouldn't submit to a test, I believe by Florida law, they have to keep you in custody for eight hours, which is we're going to get more details on that as it happens.
It's very sad to hear, if you miss what they were saying here, apparently there's one major road.
It's on the ocean, and it's sort of like in between.
It's an island and Beach Road.
I'm familiar with the street.
And on that particular road, it's basically a two-lane highway, one lane going in one direction, one lane going in the other direction.
Apparently, a pressure washer cleaner truck with a trailer was driving and about to turn into a driveway.
And the Land Rover, which apparently Tiger Woods was driving, was accelerating at a pretty high rate of speed and tried to pass this particular pressure cleaner truck.
And this is when this happened.
And the Land Rover rolled over a number of times.
There's a picture of it.
It's a Range Rover.
They said Land Rover.
I guess it's the same thing.
And all black.
And he's now in custody and he's been arrested and he's now been charged with DUI, which is terrible news.
I know he's had recent surgeries.
I know that he probably has been on medication.
He had another back surgery.
And also, my understanding is the accident happened at 2 p.m., ended up in jail at 3 p.m.
He will stay in jail for a minimum of eight hours, and that means till 11 p.m. tonight.
And just bad news for Tiger Woods.
And I'm sure not what he wants.
He'll postpone.
I'm sure that won't be hard for him.
All in all, it just is, I know some people like this misery thing for other people.
Like when we saw what happened, it's kind of sad when they released, for example, the DUI of Justin Timberlake when he was in the Hamptons in 2024.
Some people, you know, wallow in the misery of other people.
I don't particularly, you know, feel that way.
Anyway, local news is saying that he was on a painkiller and some anti-insomnia pill.
I've not been able to confirm that.
The sheriff didn't mention that in the presser.
Linda, are we getting any more details on this?
Because while I'm talking, you're looking, I know.
Yeah, no, there's not a lot more here.
It's just saying that, unfortunately, due to the fact that he refused that urine test and he would not let it be analyzed, that he is going to spend some time in jail today.
And I'm just glad nobody was hurt, obviously, and we'll keep monitoring it for that.
Do you have the president's remarks upon his arrival in Miami before he went to the FII, where he gave remarks on the situation with Tiger Woods, if you'd like to hear it?
Yeah, I know that they played golf together.
Let's play it.
I feel so badly.
He's got some difficulty.
There was an accident, and that's all I know.
Very close friend of mine.
He's an amazing person, amazing man, but some difficulty.
I don't want to talk about it.
Now, you know, I know this brings into account a lot of different issues.
Well, a friend of mine, Linda, I told you this story a while back is an addiction specialist.
And what he has described is when people get addicted to painkillers and with all the back surgeries he's had, and I'm not making excuses for him.
What I don't understand is, you know, somebody as wealthy as Tiger Woods, why is he driving a car at all?
Why doesn't he have a professional driver?
I think you raise a very good point.
And I think, too, a lot of these people, when they get injured, they unfortunately get addicted to these pills and they do build up a tolerance.
And then maybe when the pain's a little bit worse, they take an extra perk, they take an extra oxy, and it just is that becomes their new normal.
I mean, living with chronic pain is a very real thing.
And there are pain management specialists.
But I think for someone like him, I mean, I think this is his fourth accident, and he's had serious back injuries.
I mean, he's got real issues.
I mean, his back, his leg.
I mean, remember what happened to his leg.
I mean, he was hardly able, he had to work hard again.
I know.
To be able to walk again.
And so he's been through a lot.
I would think with all of those surgeries, all of those injuries, the severity of those injuries, you know, what happens to people when they start taking pain medication?
I've never taken a pain pill short of Excedrin or Advil in my life.
And one of the reasons why, and I've had, remember not that long ago, I had a tooth extracted and a root canal on the same day.
And I don't like to take Nova King.
I don't like not talking.
And I begin to worry that I'm not going to be able to talk again.
I'm just a little bit loony and I can take a lot of pain.
But they offer you pain pills.
And I'm like, no, I'm not touching that stuff.
I don't want any part of it.
I have met doctors that have gotten addicted to this stuff.
I've met lawyers that have gotten addicted to this stuff.
And they start out, they take it innocently.
It's after a surgery, and then they cannot stop taking it.
And you're right.
It's the law of diminishing returns.
They start taking it.
And then the next thing you know, they're hooked on it.
And apparently, they're so highly addictive.
And it's one of the most difficult addictions to ever break.
Anyway, I'm just taking the position.
I'm praying for him and his family.
But however, it is a lesson for people.
If you are on these powerful medications, you cannot get behind the wheel of a car.
If you're drinking, don't get behind the wheel of a car.
Yeah, that part is confusing to me.
Not to sound like this, but you're Tiger Woods.
You've got cash.
Hire a driver.
It's just not that hard.
Don't put somebody else in the past.
But you can get an Uber anywhere these days.
Operation Eagle Claw Lesson00:15:26
Yes, exactly.
Well said.
I mean, I don't know that he could because he's Tiger Woods and I respect that, you know, but still, I just, I don't know why you wouldn't have someone designated to drive you around, especially if you're in pain.
Driving is one of the most difficult things to do with a back injury and is Achilles.
I mean, he just went through that.
I know.
Anyway, so he's been arrested for DUI after this crash.
He refused to submit.
Anyway, wishing him the best here.
I think we have time for a quick call.
Let's go to Raymond in Massachusetts.
Raymond, you're on the Sean Hannity show.
Glad you called, sir.
Hi, how's it going?
I'm good, sir.
Hello.
Happy Friday.
Sorry about Tiger Woods.
Thank God nobody was hurt.
But let this be a lesson to people.
Don't put other people's lives in jeopardy.
This guy that driving this other truck, he clipped the truck.
I mean, this could have been far worse than the way it turned out.
I've seen the vehicle looks like crud.
I was just calling to say, I think it's good to have a plumber in Washington because he knows where to send all the crap that comes out of their mouths.
Oh, my gosh, you're funny.
You're talking about Jimmy Kimmel making fun of Mark Wayne Mullen.
I know I.
I agree.
By the way, I've needed plumbers in the dark of night.
Otherwise, my house is about to get ruined.
And when they show up, I'm like, so grateful.
How much do you want?
No problem.
I'll pay whatever the cost is.
Anyway, Raymond, you have a good weekend, my friend.
Appreciate the call.
800-941-Sean, Tony in Gavin Newsom's United Socialist Utopia, the communist country known as California.
What's going on, Tony?
Oh, I just had some ideas, Sean.
Thank you for taking the call.
It concerns the election integrity.
I'm all in favor of ID, you know, facial ID for voting, paper ballots, limiting, you know, mail-in ballots.
But I had an idea, and I think it's been voiced, to have the election on a Friday, maybe the third Friday of the month, third or fourth, and make it a holiday, which has been presented, I know.
But I also thought maybe we could include Saturday as a half day or up till 2 o'clock where people that can't come on Friday for whatever reason work, you know, illness, but they could do it Saturday.
What do you think?
I love the idea of making Election Day a national holiday.
I do.
And I'm sick of mail-in ballots, even though in my free state of Florida, they do it really well.
I got to give them a lot of credit.
They do a really good job, and there's a lot of integrity in the elections here.
So anyway, I appreciate the call.
I think you're right, and I hope we get to that point.
You know, both parties, Republican and Democrats, have complained bitterly about election integrity.
Why wouldn't everyone want election integrity?
If I need a photo ID to get into the Democratic National Convention, if I needed to get a jewel pod or a nicotine pouch, or you needed to get a six-pack of beer that, you know, if you're having a barbecue on a Sunday, why not for voting?
why wouldn't you want only american citizens voting and if you're just joining us pecker woods charged with dui We'll have more details throughout the day as warranted.
Local sheriff, there's not going to be probably any more new developments.
He'll be held in jail for about eight hours and then postponed.
Obviously, I've got to imagine that this probably is somehow related to his many injuries and in all likelihood medication that he has been taking while he's driving.
I don't know.
I wish somebody in his life would get involved and say enough is enough.
Get a driver, have a full-time driver, and he doesn't have to ever worry about this again.
It just sometimes just is so frustrating, the decisions that people make in their lives.
All right.
Final half hour coming up, some of the other news of the day.
We'll also get more of your calls in here this Friday.
Toll-free, 800-941-SHAWN as we continue.
You won't hear the mainstream press talking about this stuff.
Sean Hannity is on the radio.
Anyway, 800-941-Sean is on number.
I'm so sick and tired of the never-ending attacks and assault and dehumanizing and incitement against ICE agents.
It just doesn't stop.
The left cannot stop.
Gestapo, Nazi, fascist, all of it.
And this has now gone on.
You know, this was Kamala Harris's failed closing argument.
And now they've transferred it to Trump and they transferred it to ICE.
You know, in the year 2025, ICE was able, because they are willing to risk their lives.
In 2025 alone, they were able to find over 2,100 either convicted murderers, illegals of Americans, or people charged with murder, illegals of Americans.
They were able to find 5,400 rapists or other violent sexual predators that were either convicted of these crimes or charged with these crimes.
Again, illegals against Americans.
And they never get credit for the great work they do or the bravery that goes into such operations.
They never get the credit, and it just doesn't stop.
Now, ICE has been proven that ICE is now capable of helping to eliminate and mitigate the problem with TSA that's not being funded because of Chuck Schumer and leftist Democrats.
And anyway, listen to Tampon Tim, for example.
Oh, ICE agents, they aren't doing a thing at airports.
Yes, they are.
They're helping to get people through the lines faster.
Listen.
This is not normal.
These guys aren't doing a damn thing.
They weren't qualified to be here in Minnesota.
They're not qualified to be at the airport.
And they are dang sure not qualified to be anywhere near a polling station.
These people are so unappreciative and they're so corrupt and they're so political and abusively biased.
Again, if Trump cured cancer, they wouldn't care.
Now, Luce Rivas is a woman, a representative from California.
Here we go.
More calls to abolish ICE.
Well, how are we going to get rid of the known terrorists, murderers, rapists, child molesters, and other violent criminals, cartel members, gang members if we do that?
Here's what she said.
ICE is terrorizing families and inflicting unspeakable harm on our most vulnerable.
Despite all of this, Donald Trump and Republicans continue to refuse to hold ICE accountable.
Children, parents, and our communities are not safe if ICE continues to operate as is.
To truly protect them, ICE must be abolished.
And you can't talk about the insanity towards ICE without bringing up Zoron, Marxist, Kami, Mamdani, talking about how ICE is a rogue agency that should be abolished.
Oh, the same guy that wants to reimagine the police and send in the social workers.
What a dope.
The same guy that won't even criticize his own wife who liked posts that approved of murder, rape, kidnapping, and torture.
Listen.
I think first and foremost, we're making clear that no one is above the law in this city, that everyone has to follow the rule of law.
And I have made clear to the president, both in our private conversations and our public conversations, about the fact that I believe that ICE is a rogue agency.
It's a reckless one.
It's one that delivers nothing towards the furthering of the cause of public safety.
And I've also been public about my beliefs that ICE is an entity that should be abolished.
I can't believe this guy ever got elected.
Now you have a Brooklyn, New York resident that says ICE at airports are actually helping.
Listen.
I walked into the airport, I saw a very small line, and all I thought was, now I got to be here for three hours and twiddle my thumbs.
I was like, this is great.
And now, all of a sudden, I started seeing the ICE agents walk, and I was like, they just, they look like they're here to help the golf and something happens.
I mean, the last I knew, people were scared to go to airports years ago.
The more safety and security, the better.
That's just the way I, I mean, that's just the way I feel.
But I don't really care who was there to help.
As long as everything goes smooth in the airport and everyone gets on their planes, like, God bless.
I mean, it is common sense.
It's all I really was concerned about was everybody's safety.
I mean, from what I know, every time I go into an airport internationally, I see customs agents, border patrol.
They're at airports.
So I wasn't too sure what the fuss was.
That's only crazy.
I don't know.
Last time I went on vacation was probably six months ago.
So this was well deserved.
And I'm glad it went smooth.
That's all I cared about.
Because that's the thing, right?
It's like, oh, you know, all the anxiety leading up to going to the airport, it was like, I haven't traveled in so long, blah, blah, blah.
I don't want to deal with a headache.
It only makes you not want to travel.
Then you get there and everything's smooth, easy peasy.
Oh, so when you talk to real people, they give a very different story.
It's pretty remarkable.
You have this Loyola student that's killed, 18-year-old freshman at Loyola.
And you have the idiotic comments of that dopey governor, J.B. Pritzker, the dopey mayor, Brendan Johnson, the dopey alder woman, Maria, whatever her name is.
Well, this young girl was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Meanwhile, under Biden-Harris Mayorkas was allowed into the country, and then they arrested the person a month later.
He so respected our laws and was so grateful to make it to America, he got caught choplifting.
Oh, wrong place, wrong time.
No, the only person in the wrong place, wrong time was the illegal that they led into the country.
All right, let's get to our busy phones.
800-941 Sean, if you want to be a part of the program, Matthew in Arizona.
How are you, sir?
Glad you called.
Hey, Sean, how are you?
By the way, why does Arizona allow composting of dead human bodies?
I didn't know that till today.
Never heard that before.
Did you know that?
I didn't know that.
You see, you listen to this show, you never know what you're going to learn.
Well, my wife and I, you don't have two bigger fans than my wife and I.
But thank you.
Sean, I just wanted to make a brief comment about what's going on over in Iran.
Next month, and a lot of people don't know this or remember this, but next month is the anniversary of another ominous sounding operation.
It's called Operation Eagle Claw.
And as a young Army Ranger, I stood in the hangar deck of USS Nimitz back in 1980 when Jimmy Carter made his one effort to free the hostages.
And what a difference a commander-in-chief makes.
That was such a national embarrassment and disaster.
And so poorly executed and planned.
I mean, it's a shame.
And look at America's position on the world stage when that guy left office.
It was absolutely horrible, Sean.
I cannot tell you of any other point in time when the United States military, the morale was so low.
I'm 18 years old and I'm watching these men, these warriors, and just how it just crushed them and how alcoholism and drug addiction just ran through their ranks.
It was horrible.
It was absolutely horrible.
And it completely ruined my time in the military.
Wow.
Thank you for your service to the country, but go ahead.
I figure, I made it through jump school.
I made it through Ranger School.
And it's something I wanted to be proud of.
And I really can't look back at my time in the military with any pride.
I just can't.
No, I got to take issue with you in a very, very soft way.
You are an American hero.
You served your country.
You served your country with distinction.
You should be proud of your service.
And regardless of who was leading at the time, you were doing your best.
And in doing so, you put your life on the line for your country.
There's not one person.
We have an all-volunteer army and Navy and Air Force and Marines.
There's not one person that signs that dotted line that doesn't know that they might be putting themselves in harm's way, but they do it anyway.
That to me defines it's the embodiment of courage.
Heroism.
After taking the ASBAB test, they in the army, they said, you can do anything in the military that you want to do.
What would you like to do?
And I was 17 years old and I said, well, I want to go to, I want to be, if anything happens, I want to be there in the actual, what is it that I have to sign up for?
Oh, you want to go to jump school?
You want to go to Ranger school?
And I actually went in with a friend of mine whose father was a ranger back in the Korean War.
And I went in with a friend of mine whose brother was one of our Ranger instructors.
It was a fun time.
It was a fun time.
I really liked playing Army.
I was 17 years old.
But it's hard for me to, like I said, it's hard for me to look back at my service with any pride.
My dislike of Jimmy Carter and what he did to this country was just absolutely horrible.
Really, Sean, it was horrible.
I wound up getting injured in a training exercise.
I couldn't jump anymore.
And they offered me an honorable discharge, so I took it and I got out.
But it was just horrible watching how some of these guys, I mean, the guys I really looked up to, the Hardcore Ranger cadre and just watch how they were just destroyed.
It was horrible to watch, Sean.
Watching Rangers Get Destroyed00:02:33
It really was.
I don't think, you know, I don't think there was a worse time except for the Afghanistan withdrawal.
You know, that's about, you know, the thing I can find.
Listen, anytime we use our military, there is always a high significant risk.
I mean, you can see this, you know, on display every day.
The level of sophistication, technology.
You know, we just interviewed this astronaut that was lost in space, Butch Wilmore, you know, veteran NASA astronaut captain.
And every astronaut knows, like everybody that signs that dotted line, that it is an act of courage.
And he didn't know if he was coming back or not.
And he was able to, thank God, Elon Musk and President Trump made it a priority.
They got the job done.
They got him home safe and sound.
And I'm just, I just love courage.
I love people that are courageous.
I think everybody in their life on little things and big things need to practice courage.
And if you feel fear in your life, you need to do it anyway.
You kind of personify that, although you're too humble to admit it.
And that to me is what makes America's military the best on earth.
I will say one thing.
Jimmy Carter failed this country.
The Iranian revolution, the Islamic Revolution that brought the Ayatollah Khomeini into power in 1979, they did not respect Jimmy Carter.
They knew he was weak.
They kept these hostages for 444 days.
It's not an accident.
When Ronald Reagan was inaugurated on that day that they were released, they did not want to deal with a strong U.S. president.
And I can tell you, the Iranians now, if they don't get it, they're the dumbest people on the face of the earth.
But if the leadership, whatever level, whatever tier we may be at now, they do know that Donald Trump is capable of taking them out and decimating them and obliterating them.
Now, whether it's done by some type of deal or whether America just finishes them off in terms of any ability they will have for decades to pursue nuclear weapons, more ballistic missiles, et cetera, et cetera, uranium, I don't know.
I don't have a crystal ball.
But I can tell you this.
No Crystal Ball Needed00:02:34
I know Donald Trump well enough to tell everybody listening to this program, he's not leaving with the intention of ever going back there.
I can promise you that.
And whatever remaining issues exist, he's not going to leave this for future generations.
Anyway, God bless you.
God bless your service.
We really appreciate you, my friend.
