America at a Crossroads

Sean Hannity and Chip Roy critique Democratic defunding of DHS agencies, linking airport security failures to withheld ICE budgets while citing the murder of Sheridan Gorman. They defend mail-in ballot restrictions via Justice Alito's arguments and condemn James Tallarico's non-binary God comments and climate-driven meat ban. Listeners join regarding Border Patrol cuts and Trump's Iran campaign, concluding that current policies endanger national safety and undermine election integrity. [Automatically generated summary]

War For The Soul Of This Country 00:04:48
This is an iHeart podcast.
Guaranteed human.
All right, news roundup and information overload hour.
Here's our toll-free telephone number.
If you want to be a part of the program, it's 800-941.
Sean, if you want to be with us.
On the issue of funding, you know, the Democrats thought they were being clever.
The Democrats say, well, we're going to fund the Department of Homeland Security, except we're not going to fund ICE.
And yeah, okay, President Trump, they got all freaked out because Donald Trump announced that he was deploying ICE agents to help TSA agents out because people have been waiting three, four, five, six, seven hours and even longer to get through TSA so they can get on an airplane and they can travel to whatever their destination has to be.
And then I have friends that I even saw this weekend that work for TSA.
They're great people.
And unfortunately, they have not been paid in now 37 straight days because of Democrats.
And if you want to know why these long lines exist, you can blame the Democrats.
Anyway, so ICE officers, by the way, were patrolling at JFK airport this morning where security lines have grown and grown and grown.
I don't know if you saw Linda, the video from this weekend.
I sent it to you.
It was an Instagram post of somebody.
I mean, the line at LaGuardia Airport in New York City, just like that line, where was the other one that came out of what was it, Austin, Texas, or somewhere last week, or Houston?
I forget.
And the lines go on forever and ever outside the airport, down the street, around the block, and it's taken people six, seven hours.
It's unbelievable.
Anyway, so the president called on ICE agents deploying to airports.
Democrats, why are they insisting that they have the ability to dox these agents?
And all they're trying to do is facilitate, you know, and solve a problem that is caused by Democrats that don't want to fund ICE or the Department of Homeland Security.
And with it, TSA, and with it, the Coast Guard, and with it, FEMA, and with it with a whole variety of other agencies.
It's insane.
The whole thing is absolutely nuts.
I have this idiot governor, you know, in Illinois, J.B. Pritzker, is out there saying, well, it's very safe where I am.
And I'm like, well, where do you live?
He's talking about Chicago Lakeside.
And everybody all over social media is mocking him.
Why don't you go to the south side of Chicago where on any given weekend, people are going to be shot and shot and killed?
Interestingly, Democrats don't know the names of any of these people shot or shot and killed because they can't weaponize it, politicize it, and blame Donald Trump for it.
Listen: Lakefront Path, Lakefront Trail.
Absolutely gorgeous.
Walking around here, early morning on the South Lakefront Trail, South Side.
Just gorgeous.
Look at that overpass over Lakeshore Drive.
Oh, gorgeous.
Really beautiful.
And of course, facilities for everybody in a great lakefront.
Yeah, gorgeous.
Now, also, again, they're related, but they are separate issues as it relates to Congress.
We have Supreme Court Justice Sam Alito making the case against the left that don't want people, you know, they want these endless mail-in ballots after Election Day.
This is insanity.
And these are oral arguments that were heard.
Listen.
We have lots of phrases that involve two words, the last of which, the second of which is day.
Labor Day, Memorial Day, George Washington's birthday, Independence Day, birthday, and Election Day.
And they're all particular days.
So if we start with that, if I have nothing more to look at than the phrase Election Day, I think this is the day in which everything is going to take place and or almost everything.
And then we have three points in time.
1844, 1872, 1914.
And we can ask, what would people have thought on those days is meant by this phrase Election Day.
Which of those should we choose?
Which of those days, dates should we choose?
I mean, such a strong argument, right?
It's such common sense.
Why don't Democrats want proof of citizenship, voter ID, when you need voter ID to get into the Democratic National Convention, to buy a six-pack of beer, to buy a bottle of wine, a pack of cigarettes, a jewel pod, or anything else for that matter?
You need ID for everything.
Every Democrat in the past has praised ID, except for voting.
Securing The Border And Attorney General 00:10:22
I don't know why.
Congressman Chip Roy is running for Attorney General in the great state of Texas.
He has a runoff, by the way, coming up in May.
Thank you, sir, for being back here.
Let's start first with the issue of immigration, ICE, the lack of funding.
Why do Democrats want to dox ICE agents that are helping out and facilitating more speed at airports while Democrats refuse to fund the TSA?
Sean, great to be on.
And what we're seeing unfold right in front of us is the very clear distinction between the parties in this country and between the right and the left and the vision that they have.
And I think we have to remember what's currently at stake.
And I'll jump to this in a minute.
The bigger picture here is we're at war.
We're at war for the soul of this country.
We're standing up.
The president, the president is leading.
Republicans in Congress are leading.
We're trying to do very simple things, secure our country, ensure the sovereignty of our country, ensure that our people are safe, have ICE, be able to do their job under the statute, do their job, remove people who are not supposed to be here.
The 1.5 million people who are under orders of deportation, who are supposed to be removed, orders of removal.
And the Democrats are not only trying to oppose ICE and trying to interfere with their ability to do their job, in some cases, literally, where a Democratic congresswoman laid hands on an ICE agent in New Jersey, but here where they are very specifically not allowing funding to proceed for not just ICE, but also FEMA, also Coast Guard, and the other important agencies or entities within the Department of Homeland Security.
Like the Secret Service, for one.
I mean, it's awful.
Correct.
And doing that endangers us.
You know, we're in this conflict with Iran.
President's trying to lead.
We can talk about that separately.
But while we're in conflict, while we're dealing with the border situation, while we're dealing with people who shouldn't be here, dangerous individuals, like, for example, you mentioned the idiotic governor from the state of Illinois who blithely ignores the dangers posed to the people of Chicago that led to the death of this young Loyola student, Gorman.
It's just shocking.
This is the Lake and Riley of the current moment where you have a student who lost her life who didn't need to.
Let me give the whole picture of this story, if you don't mind, Congressman.
An illegal Venezuelan immigrant entered the U.S. under the Biden administration, but of course the border was closed and the border was secure.
They told us over and over again.
Anyway, was charged with murdering this Loyola University Chicago freshman from New York during a walk at the Windy Cities Lakefront Thursday morning.
Jose Medina, 25, gunned down, 18-year-old Sheridan Gorman, while she was strolling along at the pier, Chicago's, you know, one of the beaches there on Thursday morning.
Medina then approached Gorman and her friends while wearing a mask at 1.30 a.m.
He shot her in the head while she was attempting to flee before he hid in a nearby apartment building.
Charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm, and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by the Chicago P.D.
Now, here's the worst part.
He was originally detained at the border in May of 2023, the border that they told us was closed and secure, but was released into the U.S. according to documents that we've now found, arrested and released for shoplifting from Macy's in Chicago that same year.
Now, I'm sorry, I've said this many times, Congressman.
They all have blood on their hands, and they all lied to us.
They lied to the country repeatedly, saying the border was closed.
Well, that led to the impeachment of Alejandro Mayorkas, which I led, and I was the first to call for.
It took a long time to get there.
But I call for his impeachment because he literally lied to me under oath sitting in the Judiciary Committee with our mutual good friend, Jim Jordan.
And it was important to impeach him.
But you know what?
The American people are going to go, all right, what good does that do me?
Well, you know, good question.
Right now, we have a president who has secured the border.
And this is the message that I'm trying to deliver to people as a congressman, but also as someone running for attorney general.
We cannot assume that.
President Trump is not going to be president forever.
And God willing, we're going to elect somebody great from our deep bench, whether it's JD or whether it's Marco or Ted or Ron or anybody else.
But in 2029, we're going to get a change.
And the question here is, what are we going to do about it?
Because right now, we have not codified anything to change it.
And I asked Secretary Noam, obviously we're getting a change there, but I asked Secretary Noam under oath.
I said, in January of 29, if we, God forbid, get a Democrat in the White House, do we expect them to go as bad or even worse as Biden and my Orkas?
And the answer was yes.
They don't care.
These Democrats do not care about our sovereignty.
They don't care about our country.
They don't believe in what we believe.
They don't believe in Western civilization.
They're fine with the Islamification of our country.
They're fine with the Islamification of the West.
They're fine with turning over our cities and our communities and our states to these dangerous criminals and cartels coming into our country.
And it is only President Trump and Tom Homan and the brave men and women in Border Patrol and ICE that are standing up between us and them.
And we've got to do more.
And the Congress has got to stand behind the president.
Now, look, we've done a lot of good things.
We gave them money last year in the big, beautiful bill.
You and I have talked about it.
I'm proud of what Speaker Johnson and what we've done.
We need to elect a Republican Congress.
But we've got to go further.
We've got to codify this stuff.
We need to stop the flow of the people into our country in the future so that we can actually reclaim our American security.
But Democrats right now are willing to leave everybody endangered, whether it's what they're doing at the airports, whether it's what they're doing at the border, ICE, border patrol, the lines at the airports.
They don't care about your well-being.
They care about their political power, and they care about undermining our Western values.
They don't care about integrity in elections either, Congressman.
Very clearly not.
And, you know, as you know, I'm the author of the Save America Act.
Mike Lee, God bless him, great patriot, is fighting the fight in the Senate.
We set that up for success.
Democrats are trying to block it.
And to be clear, we're talking about a basic issue, very simple, 80% plus polling.
Should American citizens only vote in our elections and should we have voter ID to check it?
And by the way, what gives up the game is that it's not like Democrats are coming up and saying, hey, we appreciate what you're doing.
We agree.
This is an important objective.
Here are our three concerns.
Can we work to fix them?
No, no, that's not what they're doing.
They're trying to vilify the bill.
They're trying to jam it using the Senate rules against common sense.
And Mike Lee is rightly calling him out and Majority Leader Soon is putting the bill on the floor.
The president is rightly calling us to stay on the bill because he knows what you know, what I know, Sean, is it takes weeks to burn a message into the minds and the hearts of the American people.
They have to see it with their own eyes.
So let's force Democrats to the floor, make them oppose a common sense issue, and then let them run on believing that non-citizens should vote.
Let them run on saying that we shouldn't have voter ID.
We've got to win this election and set up the fight.
And the president's going to hopefully deliver continually overseas, get the economy turning the corner, trying to undo all the damage of Biden.
And we've got to secure our country.
The president's doing that.
The people have just got to stand behind the president and send him a Congress that will continue to support him.
Quick break, right back more with Congressman also, Attorney General candidate.
He has a runoff in May in the great state of Texas.
Chip Roy is with us.
Then your call's coming up 800-941-Sean this Monday as we roll along.
All right, we continue now.
Congressman Chiproy of Texas, now running for AG of Texas.
His runoff, by the way, is in May, and we're supporting his candidacy.
You know, the thing is, ICE has done such a good job, and people don't realize this.
I mean, the Democrats, again, if I had any Democrat on this program, they couldn't name anybody in the last month that's been shot or shot and killed in Chicago.
But they'll talk about the two cases of Minneapolis involving ICE agents.
In the case of Renee Goode, there's no doubt in my mind that that car was being used as a weapon accelerating against the cop.
And the other case, a little less clear.
I don't rush to judgment.
Let's see how this plays out.
But certainly this guy was not a fan of ICE and was a big agitator, although that was an unrelated incident 10 days prior.
But, you know, at the end of the day, I think if Democrats can't, if they can't weaponize a death, they don't care about that death.
If they can't weaponize an issue, why would they care?
And that to me is very telling.
They sure didn't care about Lake and Riley.
They sure didn't care about Rachel Morin.
They sure didn't care about Jocelyn Nungre, the beautiful little girl.
And I've gotten to know her mama down here in Texas outside of Houston who was raped and murdered by Venezuela gangs.
They didn't care about any of that.
And what they care about is trying to maintain their own power.
And honestly, those events, Sean, what we witnessed in Texas, that's what has actually motivated me to run for Attorney General.
I'm on this show to talk about this stuff before the Congress.
But the reason I'm running for AG is because Texas is under assault.
They're trying to transform it, Islamify it, leave the borders open, damage it, because if you lose Texas, you lose America.
And I am not going to do that.
You want someone as Attorney General that the left is afraid of.
They ran a million dollars of ads against me, the radical leftists in California, a green new scam subsidy outfit, because I worked with the president to kill half of their green news scam subsidies.
You want someone as the attorney general that the left is afraid of, that the Islamists are afraid of, that the cartels and the open border communities are afraid of.
We have got to bolster our states, stand alongside the president, and reclaim our communities.
And, you know, any support out there for the great people listening to your show at Chiproy.com would be appreciated.
But we've got to win, Sean.
We've got to win in the fall.
We've got to win this November.
The president can't spend two years going through impeachment exercises, going through the ridiculous BS oversight that the Democrats will turn into a political fiasco.
The president needs a Congress standing behind him to save this country.
Nobody give up.
You're going to say, oh, we're going to lose the House.
Don't accept that.
Don't accept that.
Texas Politics Beyond Gender 00:05:48
I don't accept it at all.
Vote.
Yeah, agree.
All right.
We'll be following it.
We support your nomination and your victory.
And trust me, we have a lot planned for this election coming up.
Most important midterm in our lifetime by far.
Thanks, Chiproy.
Appreciate it.
All right.
So, remember, I was supporting, I really wanted Jasmine Crockett, our favorite congresswoman, to win the nomination.
But it turns out this guy, James Tallarico, is more nuts than anybody.
You know, all these years, Linda, as a Christian, and I went to Catholic school, studied theology, even studied Latin for a while, went to Mass every day in high school.
You know, all those years, I just thought that the our father prayer, I didn't think of it as non-binary.
Did you think of it that way?
I never have.
I always thought our father means male.
I don't know.
Definitely a dead giveaway, I would say for sure.
That would be a dead giveaway, right?
Huge clue, yes.
By the way, I put it up on X.
I had Blair put it up on X. Did you read any of the comments?
They have to be hilarious.
I'm just guessing.
People are sorry.
Yes, in fact, I'll go to some of them now.
I'll look for them.
Okay, you can pull some up.
But let me, so Tallarico is asked to defend his God is non-binary comments.
He tries to turn it into, oh, beyond gender is what I meant.
But listen.
And I know that I was being provocative with that comment.
I made it on the floor of the house when the extremists in the Texas legislature were trying to pick on kids who were different.
And while it's maybe provocative politically, I don't think it's controversial theologically.
Most Christians believe that God is beyond gender.
And in fact, the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Galatians says that in Christ, there is neither male nor female.
So if you have a problem with what I said, don't take it up with me.
Take it up with the Apostle Paul.
All right.
Okay.
In other words, he doesn't make a distinction between men and women.
There's neither, but it doesn't say God.
It talks about God's gender.
Anyway, this guy is so nuts, so off the wall, so absolutely insane.
He says there's six genders, not one, not two.
I know of male and female.
I wish somebody would ask him what the other four are.
Linda, do you want to?
I don't even know if I want you to venture a guess because I'm afraid of what you might answer.
It doesn't matter.
What matters is it changes all the time.
And just because that's what you believe, have at it.
You're over 18.
You're not hurting children or small animals.
That's what you want to believe.
Have at it.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm not subscribing to your crazy.
Just because you decided that this was a thing doesn't mean the rest of the world is.
Why are you judging people and say they're not very nice of you?
That's very judgmental of you.
It's crazy.
No question about it.
So I supported, I supported Jasmine Crockett.
I didn't think that the other guy, they said, well, he's a minister.
He's trying to run as a conservative.
There's nothing conservative about this guy.
He's a nut.
Well, I actually take offense to him being a minister, too, because, you know, you can't pick and choose what you want.
Anyway, you can go online and become a minister and legally marry people.
His first name could be minister for all we know.
I mean, you could legally marry me, but you're not coming to my wedding because I didn't go to your wedding.
That's right.
That's right.
But there's one big distinction.
I offer a lot of money not to attend.
So I'll send you a lot of money.
Oh, yeah, right.
I'm going to take your money.
I'm not taking your money.
I'll send you a lot of money.
What a big, big bow.
So this guy's also, he's, I guess, a vegetarian.
Anyway.
So he says.
So he's asked about this, and he says that it's an existential threat to reduce, or he says it's existential to reduce meat consumption to fight climate change.
Anyway, here's what he said.
We have, I think, heard more and more issues of animal welfare.
I think not just because it's the right thing to do and the moral thing to do, but also it's, as all of you know, necessary to fight climate change.
It is now existential that we try to reduce our meat consumption and that we try to respect animals in all aspects of society.
And so I am proud to say that our campaign has officially become a non-meat campaign.
So we are only buying vegan products from our local vegan businesses.
I think Texas ranchers are going to love this idea.
Don't you think?
Maybe he thought that's how you spell meat.
Because I'm pretty sure.
Let me tell you something.
If I know anything about the people in Texas, they like to eat meat.
Most Texans, not all Texans, some Texans are vegetarian.
I am pro-choice.
Eat whatever the hell you want.
But don't sit here and lecture me in any way, shape, matter, or form.
This is going to be a popular issue with the people of Texas.
No way.
It's not happening.
All right, let's get to our busy telephones here.
Let's say hi to Les in my free state of Florida.
Les, how are you?
I'm doing well, sir.
Glad to be able to talk to you.
Pleasure is all mine.
What's going on?
Happy Monday if there's such a thing.
Oh, yeah, right.
Well, two things.
One, up until yesterday, I hadn't heard anything said about the Border Patrol in the shutdown.
And yesterday, I guess the Democrats actually came out and said that they're not going to fund the Border Patrol or ICE.
And I think it's just another way of the Democrats trying to open the border back up again because they've done such a good job of shutting it down.
Safer Flights With Outdated Equipment 00:05:42
Look, if that's their position, you know, they've now made everybody's life a living hell.
And now they're trying to thread the needle and say, well, we'll support everything except ICE.
And oh, by the way, if Donald Trump is going to put ICE agents to help out the six-hour waits that people are experiencing online to get to their airplane at an airport and help out TSA agents that they're not funding, they don't get away with that.
They just don't.
There's been enough threats, an 8,000% increase in the threat level against ICE agents.
So I'm sorry the left doesn't get to define the terms.
Fund the Department of Homeland Security, fund FEMA, fund the Coast Guard, fund the Secret Service, and stop inconveniencing Americans because of your radicalism.
And they don't get to dictate these terms like we're not going to fund ICE.
They don't get to.
Anyway, I appreciate the call, my friend.
It's sad.
I mean, and I feel bad for the people that work for these agencies.
And I talked to a TSA agent, a number of them this weekend, and these agents haven't been paid in 37 days.
It's just unfair, and they're struggling.
Maxwell in Texas, God bless Texas.
What's up, Maxwell?
How are you?
Yes, I was talking about the LaGuardia airport accident.
And to say to help air traffic controllers, they send in these crash trucks with four men on them, and they're carrying 3,000 gallons of water, 40 gallons of foam.
I used to work at the Houston Fire Department down at Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Now it's an EO.
And they're sending to, say, EMS calls, and they're crossing runways when they're there for the, you know, for the airplanes.
And then also, if they're responding, they should cross at the beginning or the end of a runway, not in the middle of the runway.
And that would take a lot of stress off of an air traffic controller not having to deal with the crash trucks.
So I sat in the many meetings out there, and they're sending these trucks across there just to do an EMS call.
And an EMS call is that they have a patient over there that they can't even transport or do, and they could put these people inside the terminals to respond to them until the aimless from the outside comes and gets them to transport them to a hospital.
So was that truck needed to be out there to begin with or not?
I'm not sure yet.
All I know is we have a big problem separate and apart from funding Homeland Security and TSA, and that is the FAA.
And we've interviewed Sean Duffy, the Transportation Secretary, and we have old, outdated equipment that goes back to the 1950s, 60s, and 70s.
And it's kind of hard to fathom.
You know, I mean, they have these old radar systems that are so outdated.
There's such sophisticated technology.
If you look at a new airplane, it's mind-numbing that we've never modernized our air transportation system.
And I would argue as a result of this failure, Americans are less safe and secure when they fly.
And we need to get a hold of this.
I know that Sean Duffy's entire mission right now is to modernize the FAA and get that new equipment in place sooner rather than later.
He's spending billions of dollars to get this done.
It's been appropriated to get done.
And I'd imagine it's going to take some time.
But I think in the end, it's going to be safer to fly and safer for these airplanes.
Look, one of the reasons I happen to know a lot about airplanes because I'm just interested in it.
And one of the reasons that it's safer to be in an airplane than in a car or a truck is because they have nearly perfected to the extent it's possible air travel with aircraft, especially with jets.
And for example, you go on a commercial airliner.
I bet at some point in your life, you were probably in a 1960s or 70s built aircraft.
But what they keep doing is they keep rebuilding those aircraft.
They constantly change the engines.
After X number of hours, they pull the engines out.
Whether they're working perfectly or not, they put new engines in.
And they have all these tests that they run on these engines to ensure that they run perfectly.
The same with landing gear, the same with avionics.
All of this, the amount of redundancy in an aircraft before an aircraft can even take off or land is so high, it's unbelievably impressive and spectacular.
It's not perfect because man is imperfect.
However, the fact that we're doing as well as we've been doing with such outdated equipment is miraculous.
We've perfected the jet side of it.
We haven't nearly perfected it.
It is mechanical, so there are always going to be things that can go wrong.
But we haven't perfected the avionics part of it as it relates to the air traffic control system in this country.
Anyway, I hope that answers your call.
Thank you, my friend.
800-941-Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
Sharon in the great state of Texas.
God bless Texas, Sharon.
How are you?
Thank you, Sean.
I agree.
I wanted to say I've noticed, because I'm an avid radio listener, and including your show and the others that carry the conservative commentary.
Finishing The Job After Forty Seven Years 00:02:56
And there's a rising level of anxiety about the military campaign over against Iran.
And we've known that Iran is out at war with us for 47 years now.
And because of the failure of previous presidents to address the issue, Trump is having to come in and do the cleanup job.
And so people are asking, well, how long is this going to take?
Well, how much money is it going to cost?
And none of which I ever heard much about when we were in Afghanistan or Iraq or any of the other places.
But from the beginning, even when he ran his first campaign in 2016, I remember that Trump said, we went into the wrong country.
It should have been Iran.
And he is totally right on that.
So he's doing the cleanup job and he's cleaning up the mess that's been allowed to fester for 47 years and that they've been at war with us.
So he's going in to finish the job.
Just do it and get it done, finish it.
And because the American public has become so used to quick, quick response, you know, we put in an order, get it within a day, delivery, you know, all the new technology.
We expect to get these quick answers and quick deliveries on everything.
We can't expect that now from a campaign in the Middle East, especially after 47 years letting this thing fester.
So I'm all with President Trump.
Go in, do what we need to do to get the job done, and this time, finish it.
And so that's— This has to be the last time we're there.
That's why I'm saying any enriched uranium at 60% has to be removed.
That's part one.
Part two, they should pay us for what we've had to engage in here.
I think that President Trump, knowing him as well as I do, that'll be part of any final deal.
And if not, as he said, he's going to finish the job.
He says, if the Iranian talks fail, we will keep bombing our little hearts out.
And he's not lying.
And if at this point they don't believe him, that's on them.
All right, Hannity tonight, 9 Eastern on the Fox News channel.
Tom Holman will join us tonight.
He's going to weigh in on ICE agents helping TSA agents because Democrats continue to refuse to support funding of the Department of Homeland Security, and it's become a nightmare for most Americans.
Also, Dan Bongino, we'll talk to him about this.
We'll get an update on Iran.
Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg will join us tonight.
We also have tonight Charlie Hurts, Sage Steele, Emily Campano, WDVR tonight.
Hannity, 9 Eastern on the Fox News channel.
We'll see you tonight.
Back here tomorrow.
Thank you for making this show.
