A Race in New Jersey

Sean Hannity broadcasts live from deep-blue New Jersey, spotlighting four new polls showing the state's gubernatorial race in a razor-thin one-point margin between Jack Ciattarelli and Mikie Sherrill. Sean frames this as a historic shot for Republicans in an unlikely state, crediting accurate pollsters like Robert Cahaly and Matt Towery, and urging Jersey voters to seize the chance for a major political upset. Guest highlights include critiques of Sherrills recordethics questions, energy policies, and crime stances versus Ciattarelli's pledges to cut taxes and government waste. Why it matters: a GOP win here would shake the national landscape and signal a seismic shift in voter sentiment.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This is an iHeart podcast.
Thanks to all of you for being with us.
Write down our toll-free television if you want to be part of this program.
It's 800-941 Sean.
If you want to join us, we are in the state of New Jersey.
We're here for a reason.
Let me explain where we are in New Jersey.
The deep, deep, deep, deep blue state of New Jersey.
There are four pollsters that now have this.
Emerson now came out with their poll, Trafalgar and Matt Towery and Robert Cahaley.
And there's one other poll.
I forgot the name of it.
It's four, four separate pollsters have New Jersey a one-point race, the deep, deep blue state of New Jersey.
So I said this on the air earlier in the week that I kicked myself after the last election.
Now, in fairness to me, there was no poll indicating that New Jersey was going to be close.
There was not at the time.
And once Robert Cahaley and Matt Towery, people I respect, they nailed 2016, they nailed 2020, they nailed 2024.
They nailed it.
And they know how to poll Trump and they know how to poll states like New Jersey.
Now, this is a challenging state for any Republican.
It just is.
And for this to be a one-point race is in and of itself a little bit of a miracle.
It really, by the way, it is the other point is coefficient polls.
So you got coefficient, Emerson.
Emerson polled really well in the last presidential election.
And you got Matt Towery and you got Robert Cahale insider Advantage and Trafalgar.
It's a one-point race.
I'm not here for my health or the pork rolls in New Jersey, although obviously, you know, and here was a fascinating New York Post story today.
Most New Jerseyans, I'm from Jersey.
Forget about it.
Here's how dire my prediction is for you in New Jersey.
And it's funny because while simultaneously New York City is about to elect, you know, Marxist commie mamdani, New Jersey is right on the precipice of the biggest upset we will have seen in an election in a long time.
Now, I'm not saying this thing isn't, I'm telling you it is razor thin real, which means if you're in New Jersey, get your ass to the polls and vote.
I think early voting continues through the weekend.
Election day is Tuesday.
Jack Chitterelli can win.
I'd actually like to hear the words.
Fox News can now project that Jack Chittorelli has now been elected the governor of the bluest state of blue states, New Jersey.
Now, here's my admonition and my warning to all of you in New Jersey is if you don't take this opportunity with it being so close, then you risk being, you know, New York City 2.0.
You know, you've always shown an independent streak.
Now, if you look at numbers in terms of registration, you're like, oh, man, no way.
You know, Democrats outnumber Republicans by over a million voters.
But independents in this state, very high at 20%.
They, according to the polls, are breaking very hard for Jack Chitterelli and they're very engaged.
And I do believe there's a Mamdani effect happening here.
New Jersey, like seeing what's going on in New York City.
Now, I'm going to tell you, if Mamdani's elected next Tuesday, which I predict he will probably win, I hope I'm wrong.
I pray to God I'm wrong.
I want my friend Curtis Leewer to win.
I really do.
Linda is giving me the eye.
Just keep your eye to yourself because it doesn't mean anything to me.
And we can talk about a bet later.
You know, you've got a very flawed candidate.
And this is the New Jersey GOP put this out, Glenn Paulson writing, you know, about, you know, trading defense stocks while on the House Armed Services Committee.
She tripled her net worth, pocketing $7 million in profits and was even fined for breaking federal law by not putting in her income statements on time.
When questioned, she denied it, pretended she, I have no idea where the $7 million came from.
Linda, you had $7 million in your bank account, more than you had last year.
Would you notice that?
I think I would notice that.
Would you notice that?
I would.
Everybody would notice that.
On immigration, she won't give a straight answer on New Jersey sanctuary state policy.
She's doing a Biden and a Kamala and ducking and dodging and weaving.
She doubled down on her plan to regionalize busing kids out of their neighborhoods.
You know what?
What?
Why?
How about you fix every school, give parents school choice, whatever you spend per capita on students, give the parents the money, let parents form their own little cooperative, four or five parents.
Let's say you give them 20 grand apiece.
Okay, that's 100, 120 grand.
And guess what?
Probably be more, probably like 30 grand.
Okay, and you can hire a teacher for five kids.
And guess what?
They're going to learn.
Because you're going to demand it.
And there's so many creative ways that you can do it.
You know, she on energy, you know, she's pushing the green, new, green, new, green, new, green, new, clean energy nonsense.
Even Bill Gates backing off of that crap.
You know, it's so bad her gimmick.
Even Murphy called it unworkable, a rate freeze.
She wouldn't pledge that she won't raise taxes.
Now, think about this.
On the budget under Murphy, spending, his spending in this state exploded.
I now have done the deepest dive on New Jersey.
$35 billion to $59 billion under one governor.
Oh, my gosh.
It's unreal.
Like my free state of Florida has less than half the budget of New York, much better infrastructure, much better policing, number one in schools, and they do it on half the money than New York.
It's unbelievable.
Anyway, then she, you know, then there's the cheating scandal.
Of course, she keeps giving, I'll get to this in a second, you know, contradictory answers on all of this.
You know, NewJersey.com had an article, the Climate Superfund Act, which would, you know, probably better known as the Climate Money Grab Act, seeks to retroactively penalize fossil fuel companies in New Jersey, tens of billions of dollars.
Okay, what are those corporations going to do when they have to pay tens of billions of dollars?
They're going to raise prices.
That would be a tax on you.
That's how dumb this is.
And, you know, Jack Chitterelli is running on a really solid platform.
He's going to cut and cap property taxes so that working families, young people can afford to buy a home while expanding, you know, the senior property tax freeze, invest in natural gas.
You want a clean energy.
Natural gas doesn't get any cleaner than natural gas.
But, you know, and by the way, nuclear actually is very effective too.
But whatever.
And so he's got a very strong platform that he's running on.
He's also running on the idea to reduce the waste and size of government.
And he wants a line item veto that will eliminate and prevent waste.
If he gets that, that would be huge.
He also recognizes, and this is where Mikey Sherrill wouldn't take a stand during the debate.
He's going to reduce the corporate business tax.
I mean, when you have Mom Dani saying, well, he's going to match New Jersey's taxes, you got a big problem.
And he's going to make New Jersey more affordable.
Young people can't afford to live in New York or New Jersey anymore.
That's why they're getting the hell out.
You know, they've ruined it for young people.
It's unreal.
A lot of Democrats are supporting Jack Chitterelli, which I find interesting.
If you look at the tax foundation, this state of New Jersey ranks 49th out of 50 states on the tax competitiveness level, which means its overall taxes are the second highest in the country.
And guess who they follow?
New York, California, not far behind.
New Jersey property taxes, the highest in the country, 2.23%.
Let me give you an example, comparison.
You know, only followed by Connecticut, New Hampshire, and New York, et cetera.
But my state of Florida, no income tax, none.
An effective property tax of 0.8%.
How do you get to 2.2%?
I mean, just, you know, you're paying rent at that level based on the value of your home.
You're paying for the honor of living in your own freaking home.
And you have crappy schools to boot.
New Jersey imposes the fourth highest income tax rate in the country, 10.75%.
In 2025, New Jersey has added a 2.5 surtax to its 9% corporate business tax.
This is what Mamdani's talking about in New York City.
New Jersey has the eighth highest gas tax in the country and a sales tax of nearly, what, 6.6%, above the national average, the eighth largest in the country.
And it's the only state in the country that imposes, and well, one of the only states because New York has one too, an estate tax.
Now, the federal estate tax is 40%.
I remember when I lived in New York, I'd have a meeting once a year.
I hate him.
I hate meetings.
Linda, do I like meetings?
I hate meetings.
Love meetings.
No, I don't.
You can be honest.
Tell everybody, what's my attention span for a meeting?
You hate meetings and technology.
Yes.
In that order.
Yes.
And liberals.
And liberals.
The close three.
Okay.
And weddings.
They want the highest marginal rate possible.
You pay 40% of the federal government.
New Jersey, you pay taxes on this money.
They want another bite of the apple.
16%.
McKelenjee is like, whatever you do, don't die in New Jersey.
I'll be like, okay, I'm going to have a meeting right after this meeting with God and see if I can't work out a plan.
It's just, it's remarkable.
But they're in a dead heat.
You know, the latest poll, for example, just out today, this is the Emerson poll, PICS 11 Hills Survey.
You know, it's a one-point race, 49, 48, Mikey Sherrill and Jack Chitterelli.
That means it's winnable.
That's why I'm here.
I'm not here for the weather because the weather's absolute Adam shiff here today.
And I can't stand being out of my free state of Florida.
I hate it.
You know, unemployment rate nationally, 4.3%.
Where's New Jersey?
5%.
You know, right up there with Gavin.
California's 5.5%.
Okay, what are they doing wrong here?
Because businesses are leaving.
You're taxing them the highest corporate rate in the country.
And Mom Donnie's quoting New Jersey as his model.
I mean, that ought to tell you something.
Anyway, so, you know, it's interesting if you look, I've done a deep dive on Mikey Sherrill.
You know, she would, for example, require the consent of the National Guard being deposed.
Okay, listen, if you're like Chicago and you're like Illinois and you have five times the murder rate, at what point does the government, the federal government, have an obligation duty to step in and say, hell no, we are going to preserve and protect law and order and safety and security for the people if you're not going to do your jobs.
You know, what if they're surrounding ICE offices, especially in this assassination culture?
How could she be more wrong on that?
You know, here was an interesting point.
Now, she makes the case, oh, I don't support defunding the police.
Here's the problem.
She says that.
But she voted no on a 2023 bill to make assaulting a law enforcement officer, firefighter, or other first responder a deportable defense.
Whoopsie-daisy.
And she voted no on a resolution two years ago expressing support for local law enforcement officers and condemning efforts to defund dismantle.
So she's full of Adam Schiff, like most politicians.
When asked about her $7 million profit in the stock market, I guess she was on Charlemagne Dugad.
She said, I haven't, I don't believe I did, but I have to go back and see.
Newsmax is, first of all, a very questionable organization that is paying multiple fines.
I'm not sure what they're talking about.
So the question.
Did you make $7 million in stock trades at all?
I haven't.
I don't believe I did, but I'd have to go see what that was alluding to.
I have no idea if I made it.
I don't know.
I just put $7 million a year ago in your bank account, Linda.
Did you not catch it?
You know, she was forced to pay the fee for the 2021 Stock Act violations.
It's basically blowing past a 45-day deadline to disclose her and her family's stock.
She said about not walking with her class at the Naval Academy.
She first said, well, there was a test at the school that was stolen.
I did not realize it was stolen.
I took the test afterwards.
I knew what the rumor mill was.
I knew people who were implicated in it.
I didn't come forward with that information, she said.
Then she said, there were hundreds of people in my class that spoke to investigators.
When I did, I told them what I knew.
Okay, you said you didn't tell them.
Now you're saying you did tell them.
You know what that sounds like to me?
The quintessential politician.
New Jersey, you have a choice, and she's a climate change nut.
A nut.
I'm just telling you, you got a shot in this deep blue state.
I didn't come up here, leave the comfort of my free state of Florida for no reason.
I didn't come for a pork roll.
I came here because I want a shot here.
It's in your hands.
I'm not telling you it's easy.
I'm saying get your ass out and vote.
That simple.
At 25 now to the top of the hour.
We are in the state of New Jersey.
We're here for a good reason.
Four individual pollsters now have the deep blue state of New Jersey, the gubernatorial race, at a one-point race.
This is now officially a turnout election.
Can't guarantee the results.
All I'm saying to you in New Jersey is you got a shot.
I mean, this will shock the entire country.
Fox News can now project that Jack Chitterelli, the Republican, has upset the Democrat Mikey Sherrill, the phony.
She's a fake phony fraud, ladies and gentlemen.
A complete fraud.
By the way, Bob Grant, I think, was single-handedly responsible for electing Christy Todd Whitman.
Oh, yeah, big time.
Big time back in the day.
And then she wanted nothing to do with him.
You know, he was rather controversial in his day.
But a true pioneer of talk radio.
I love him.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, it's just unbelievable.
ABC Disney bought, talk about cancellation.
He got canceled.
Roseanne Barr got canceled.
Nobody canceled Jimmy Kimmel.
No conservative was saying, get Kimmel off the air.
No, he's a jackass.
That's because conservatives don't do what liberals do.
Okay, and 72% of his audience has evaporated.
Yeah, but it doesn't matter because as conservatives, we should kick the crap out of him, but we don't really know.
I was really pissed because I lost a lot of my audience Monday night because I was up against Monday night football.
Anytime the Kansas City Chiefs are on, oh, gosh, is Taylor there?
I can't even vote.
Is Taylor there?
You know, and I have only nice things to say about Taylor and Keller.
I know, you know, but you know what?
I wish someone took a hit in the head with a football.
That would be worth it.
Will you stop?
Be nice.
Why?
Why don't it be nice?
You know what?
She's not nice.
Okay.
She's fake nice.
I don't.
I think when she comes out and she's got her hands up, it's very weird.
What are you?
Leave.
You know what?
What?
People love her.
She seems nice to me.
She's nice.
I would have voted for her.
Hey, not her.
Curtis Lehman, baby.
Oh, 100%.
He'd back.
Well, he used to have Curtis on back in the day.
All the time.
Anyway, listen, we are in New Jersey.
This is a real shot.
I honestly think it may be your last shot in New Jersey.
And I'm saying that not to be negative.
I'm just being realistic.
You know, you now risk being New York City 2.0.
If you make this big mistake, you got a shot.
I know that it's on paper.
It's a long shot, but these four pollsters having it at a one-point race, that is a turnout election.
Independence, you're going to make all the difference here.
I mean, I went through all the numbers.
I'll repeat it on TV tonight because it's worth it.
We're doing a town hall, and I hope you'll tune in.
Nine Eastern Hannity on the Fox News channel.
Our friends at the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, they honor America's heroes, heroes like U.S. Army Warrant Officer One, Stephen, I'm sorry, Stuart Waymond.
Now, he graduated from the Army Aviation School, received many honors and awards during his distinguished career, and sadly had a mid-air collision during a training exercise, and it took his life.
A true hero, he left behind a wife and three young sons.
Tunnel to Towers stepped in because of your generosity, your partnership, and they were able to pay the mortgage on the Stewart family's home.
And it's the kindness of people like you that are listening to this show across the country that alleviated the financial burden and brought support for their children and their future needs.
Now, Stewart was a good, hardworking, you know, loyal, patriotic American.
He valued his family, loved his country, an amazing father, kind, intelligent, and he put everything he had into what he did.
Love what he did.
Now, you can help more families like the Stewarts.
The secret sauce, Frank Stiller told me this when I put him on the podcast, is the secret sauce is the $11 a month.
He says, yeah, we get corporate donations.
We get this donate, but that's not consistent.
He said, what makes Tunnel to Towers, you know, the fuel, the rocket fuel for this great mission is if people can commit to $11 a month.
I know it's a lot.
The economy's getting better, but not fast enough for anybody.
But it's going to get better really fast.
This time next year, I think we're going to be humming along.
I really believe that with all my heart.
Anyway, just go to their website, lettert number2, lettert.org, lettert, number two, lettert.org, tunnel to towers foundation.
So I'm going to make a prediction, and my predictions are often right.
Democrats are not going to open the government until after the election.
Now, you know, Democratic Congressman Roe Conna has called on Speaker Mike Johnson to reopen the House to vote on a bill aimed at funding the SNAP program.
As of Saturday, 42 million Americans that need this monthly money, they get basically a debit card, are facing potential interruptions in their benefits, you know, because of the Schumer shutdown.
Now, there is legislation introduced by Republican Senator Josh Hawley.
It's gained traction in the chamber with the number of co-sponsors going from 11 to 29.
And it's the Keep SNAP funded act, which would allow the U.S. Department of Agriculture to continue issuing SNAP benefits even while Congress has not passed a new budget or temporary funding resolution.
It would also cover any missed payments dating back to September 30th, 2025.
It's funded by the USDA with Congress approving a budget temporary measure each year.
You know, this is the problem.
The problem is they've had 13 times to prevent Saturday from happening, and they don't care.
They don't care.
Now, I thought it would be Monday.
I think by Wednesday, if they don't, by the time we get on radio on Wednesday, if they haven't opened up the government, I think they're waiting for the election.
That's what I think.
I think they don't want any interference with the election.
And they're thinking, oh, okay, if people are dependent on government, they're probably more likely to be Democrat.
It doesn't matter what their politics are.
I don't want the sick, the elderly, the infirmed to be hungry.
Now, there is a legitimate debate.
How come we have in this country with all this wealth, 42 million Americans in need of that assistance?
But if by Wednesday or Thursday of next week that they do not open this government, I'm going to ask those of you that have a little extra money, time, help out your local food bank.
You just have to.
It's going to get desperate really, really fast.
Because they've let this go on too long.
Apparently, Joe Biden, Radar Online reporting, facing a cash crunch that could see him go broke as fellow Democrats and corporate America shunning the former commander-in-chief.
Gee, I guess he can't take half of Hunter's, you know, I give half my income to pops.
I guess that's hurting him.
Anyway, few groups seem eager to pony up for the 82-year-old Biden's rate, which is apparently as high as $500,000 to hear him mumble, stumble, and bumble and not know where he is.
Why would anyone pay $500,000 for that?
Anyway, the price tag is a hard sell when Joe has barely managed to, you know, more than a blank stare during previous engagements.
Nobody wants to hear from him.
You know, I guess they'll write a book, and I'm sure somebody will give him a book.
The projects, the benefits.
How do you lead the world without having the best infrastructure?
How do you lead the world without having the best health care enrollment?
How do you lead the world without having the best education system?
How do you lead the world when you don't have that done?
How do you lead the world when you don't know what day of the week it is?
I'm just wondering.
Oh, I got the best tape ever.
The Australian, this was awesome.
There's an Australian, and I'm going to save it for later.
Don't get mad at me.
Interviewing Kamala Harris, an Australian reporter, and ask the question.
And then, you know, she gives a word-salad answer.
He goes, that's a world-class pivot.
I can't do an Australian accent in the moment off the top of my head.
I don't know what's happening to Gavin.
You know, Gavin and I were kind of friendly.
We just disagreed.
He tells ABC News Joe Biden was one of the most successful presidents in the last century.
Okay.
Gavin, you know, don't listen to me.
Gavin never listens to me.
But if you believe that, you know, you are not qualified.
You are disqualifying yourself for office by saying that.
Oh, look what I found.
I found it.
The first copy.
All right.
No laughing aloud.
That's not allowed.
We're going to get into a deep dive in detail.
Jack Smith targeting 430 Republicans with these subpoenas.
We're going to hit that.
Jonathan Turley and Trey Gowdy were great on it.
We'll have Greg Jarrett and John Solomon and much more coming up.
I want to read to you Donald Trump's unbelievable.
Friday night at 11 p.m., while most of us were thinking about going to bed and resting up from a busy week, he got, he had a typical week for him.
It's not like he took it easy leading up to this trip.
And he flew to Asia 24 hours with one stop to refuel.
24 hours.
Now, he just arrived home, should be home now.
You know, and it culminated with this meeting with President Xi of China.
And he put this on Truth Social.
I had a truly great meeting with President Xi.
There is enormous respect between our two countries, and that will only be enhanced by what just took place.
We agreed on many things with others, even on high importance, of high importance being close to resolved.
I'm extremely honored by the fact that President Qi authorized China to begin the purchase of massive amounts of soybeans and other farm products.
Our farmers will be very happy.
In fact, I said once before during my first administration, farmers should immediately go out and buy more land and larger tractors.
And I'd like to thank President Xi for this.
Additionally, China has agreed to significantly continue the flow of rare earths.
By the way, Trump was smart.
Got a deal with Australia, Japan, and with, what's the other country he was just in?
South Korea on rare earths.
And we're producing, but now beginning massive production and magnets, by the way, all of which is needed to build automobiles, and it's very important to the defense industry.
It may sound weird, but it's critical.
And very significantly, he says China has strongly stated they will work diligently with us to stop the flow of fentanyl into our country.
This will help us end the fentanyl crisis.
China also agreed that they will begin the process of purchasing American energy.
I did talk to the president today, and he was on Air Force One, and I had a conversation with him.
And he did tell me this is going to be much bigger than anybody knows now.
And he said it in his statement.
In fact, very large-scale transactions may take place concerning the purchase of oil and gas from the great state of Alaska.
Chris Wright, Doug Bergham, and our respective energy teams will be meeting to see if such an energy deal can be worked out.
The agreements reached today will deliver prosperity, security to millions of Americans.
After this historic trip to Asia, I'm now headed back to D.C.
I want to thank the great countries of Malaysia, Japan, South Korea for being so generous, gracious, hospitable.
Also, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam were at the dinner last night hosted by His Excellency.
He's talking about the leader in South Korea.
Hundreds of billions of dollars are being brought into our country.
Because of them, our nation is strong, respected, and admired again.
The best is yet to come.
Very cool.
He really got a lot of key takeaways.
One, I would argue, you cannot dismiss the importance.
I mean, they're talking about 12 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans and other agricultural products.
That is great for American farmers.
Great.
Stopping the flow of fentanyl.
President has been letting him know he's pissed and he's serious.
Okay, that's huge.
Rare earths are huge.
Believe it or not, these magnets are critical if you want to have automobile manufacturing.
And we have, you know, literally trillions of dollars committed in manufacturing for automobiles moving into the country.
I've always think he said, I'll put a tariff on it.
You're either going to make it in America or you're going to get tariffed to death.
And these companies want access to American markets.
He's the only president that has understood the might of America's economy and the need of every other country to have access to it.
Similarly, and he said this last night, he said, we're going to start testing nuclear weapons again, too, because Vladimir Putin did.
He goes, I don't want to.
I'd rather not.
But we have the biggest nuclear arsenal in the world, and it was just modernized in my first term.
And I'm going to keep going, and I'm going to start testing again.
So he means business, and he's going to show the world he means business.
But, you know, also they discuss the importation of Russian oil.
But they had already signaled prior to his arrival that they were going to do this.
A deal on TikTok is going to be made with apparently the platform owned by a Chinese company separating their U.S. operations from the bite dance in a transaction valued around $14 billion.
That will take the algorithms, if you will, and be good for the country.
But 900, he left this Asian trip, just like when I was on the trip with him in the Gulf States.
He left with, you know, he left with more than actually, but $2.5 trillion worth of committed monies that are going to be coming into our country.
I mean, just South Korea alone, $950 billion.
You know, massive $1 trillion in deals, South Korean visit, strengthening our military alliance, approving a new tech.
I mean, it's really spectacular what we're witnessing in real time.
It really is.
And credit to the president on all fronts here.
The president understands the might.
Now, on the Schumer shutdown, Washington Post calls on Senate Democrats to end the government shutdown.
All right.
They like that Donald Trump is modernizing the White House, and now they're calling on Senate Democrats to end the shutdown.
I'd say that things have changed rather dramatically at the Washington Post.
I'm not quite ready to open an account.
However, it's not exactly been my source of news or the New York slimes.
It's just such a horrible newspaper.
The editorial Dems, it's time to end the shutdown.
Stop holding the government hostage.
Washington Post.
Thun erupted yesterday.
I'll play it later.
He was great.
I think Thun has really turned out to be a pretty good majority leader so far.
No, I mean, so far he's held the line.
Now, let's see.
The jury, will you stop with the head shaking?
Good grief.
You have nothing nice to say.
I actually said nothing.
I just shook my head in disagreement.
You're shaking your head in disagreement.
In disgust.
A leopard does not change his spots.
Still a leopard.
No, I think he was just keeping his mouth shut.
Oh, God.
I do.
All right, 800-941, Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
Quick break, right back.
We're in New Jersey.
Why?
Because four pollsters say it's a one-point race.
That's a turnout election.
Could you imagine the political earthquake of Fox News can now project that Jack Chitterelli is the Republican, has been elected governor of New Jersey?
Wow, New Jersey, get to work, do your job, go vote.
Export Selection
