Time Text
This is an iHeart podcast.
You want smart political talk without the meltdowns?
We got you.
I'm Carol Markowitz, and I'm Mary Catherine Hamm.
We've been around the block in media, and we're doing things differently.
Normally is about real conversations.
Thoughtful, try to be funny, grounded, and no panic.
We'll keep you informed and entertained without ruining your day.
Join us every Tuesday and Thursday, normally, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I'm Ben Ferguson, and I'm Ted Cruz.
Three times a week, we do our podcast, Verdict with Ted Cruz.
Nationwide, we have millions of listeners.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we break down the news and bring you behind the scenes inside the White House, inside the Senate, inside the United States Supreme Court.
And we cover the stories that you're not getting anywhere else.
We arm you with the facts to be able to know and advocate for the truth with your friends and family.
So down with Verdict with Ted Cruz now, wherever you get your podcasts.
All right, thank you, Scott Shannon, and thanks to all of you for being with us.
Write down our toll-free telephone number.
It's 800-941-Sean.
If you'd like to join us, 78 days until Election Day, 29 days till early voting.
Mail-in ballots even go out sooner, and you can't start Election Day down hundreds of thousands of votes and expect you're going to have a chance to win.
And for conservatives, Republicans that have been reluctant and resistant to voting early, voting by mail, you've got to overcome it.
I know it's not the system we like.
I've been through this a thousand times, but it is the system that we are stuck with until you win elections and you can change it.
Anyway, we are broadcasting live in the well, the city of Chicago.
Now, I do got to give a shout out to Jeans and Judes.
Their hot dogs, Chicago hot dogs are unbelievably amazing.
I mean, so delicious, so great.
Best thing about Chicago, the only thing good about Chicago is their hot, by the way.
You think the people of Chicago are going to be pissed off at me by the time.
Okay, it is a complete Adam Schiff show here.
I can tell you right now, it is.
You've got people.
Oh, look at Tom is in the house.
Look at this.
Tom, grab a hot dog.
We have them over there.
Jeans and Judes.
It's awesome.
You got two already?
Three already.
All right.
My man.
It's been really difficult to get here.
I need to point that out.
Linda still has not gotten here, but a luggage did arrive.
And that's a good thing.
I told her she's free to work from home if she'd like, but she seems to be pretty hell-bent.
We'll get to it later in the program.
Not exactly the best flying day yesterday.
They say because of the weather.
This was the oddest happenstance.
I sat on a plane on a tarmac for six straight hours.
And, you know, pretty uneventful, if you don't mind being bored out of your mind, feeling like you're wasting an entire day of your life, but that's what my day was like yesterday.
And the same with Linda, except I actually got my bags back and she didn't get hers back.
And we're able to fly out early this morning, thankfully, and get here.
And we'll be here.
In other words, we're here, so you do not have to be here.
Estimates of hundreds of thousands of crazy pro-Hamas radicals that have descended upon the city of Chicago.
Oh, and Chicago, by the way, they kick off Convention Week.
30 people shot this weekend.
Five people have been killed in Chicago.
And that is like a typical weekend.
Sadly, we've been scrolling the names of people shot and shot and killed since 2009.
Interestingly, you never hear the names of those people.
There's no rioting.
There was no 600, 574 riots with dozens of dead Americans and thousands of injured cops pelted with bricks, rocks, bottles, Molotov cocktails, and billions of property damage.
You know, you don't have what happened in Minneapolis where the dopey governor Tim Waltz, oh, that's right, he's the VP candidate for the Democrats, won't call in the National Guard, but he does open the windows to their family home that they don't own so he could smell burning rubber and the smell of freedom.
And, of course, Kamala, four days after the police precinct of Minneapolis burned to the ground, she's the one that was out there tweeting a bail fund that ended up raising $40 million that released violent criminals back out onto the streets so I guess they could commit more crimes because many of them did.
And so this is where we find ourselves.
I'm not getting the warmest reception so far by people that, and I've run into very few, and I've not gotten the warmest reception from people.
I don't like to travel this way, but I do have quite a number of people surrounding me at all times, including my sensei, with strict instructions that if I don't behave in a certain way, that if he has to, he will knock me out first, and then he'll go after everybody else.
We'll talk to him, I'm sure, at some point during the week.
But this is what we're now walking into.
Let me tell you about what this week is all about.
And I went through this.
We did a special edition of Hannity last night.
And there's not going to be any big revelations here.
There just isn't.
That's not what, I mean, it's a fait accompli.
It's a show.
And it's a Hollywood production.
That's all this is in terms of what the convention is.
Every word is scrutinized.
And it's Republican, too.
I'm not saying this is strictly Democrat, but they try to heavily choreograph everything that you're going to see.
For those of you that care to watch this garbage, I'm here to cover it so you don't have to.
But we're going to be covering a lot of other things like what's actually going on and how this party has gone off the deep end and telling you the real truth about who Kamala Harris is in her own words and who Tim Walz is and his own words.
And it is becoming more and more clear how clueless they are.
The first policy speech Kamala gave, even the Washington Post referred to it as a disaster.
I'll get to that in a second.
But so you're not, this is like the definitive guide of what this week is going to be like, what you're going to see, what you're going to hear, putting aside the radicals, which I'll get to in a moment.
But conventions are so choreographed that the convention is scripted to the second.
That's not the story of this convention.
You know, there will be more attention dedicated to smearing and slandering and besmirching and attacking Donald Trump than there's going to be about talking about the mess that they have created.
Now, Kamala would like to have you think that she is an outsider because on day one, she's going to fix inflation.
Meanwhile, she's been bragging about Bidenomics forever, even recently.
We're so proud of Bidenomics.
Bidenomics has been a disaster.
Their border policy, border czar, has been a disaster for our country and the biggest national security threat in our lifetime.
Their defund, dismantled, no-bail law madness has been an unmitigated disaster.
I mean, listening to Kamala Friday and the economy, for example, and inflation and everything, and butter and bread, and it's all costing more.
I'm like, yeah, you caused that.
And I know you want to blame big corporations, but you know what?
That rings on deaf ears.
And the challenge, and I had pointed out in this poll of John McLaughlin, is that Democrats themselves and independent Biden voters, they have no idea.
They're completely not aware of who Kamala is, the positions that she's taken, that she supports Medicare for all, including illegal immigrants, and universal health care and eliminating private health insurance and comparing ICE to the KKK and defunding ICE,
although she's, according to her age, switching her positions on everything, decriminalizing illegal immigration, free housing and health care and education, and Tim Wall's free college education and legal driver's licenses.
You know, I mentioned defund, dismantled, no bail laws.
That's her in her own words, you know, ending cash bail.
All of this ignorance, and 80% of these people polled don't know that she has stated these things and how radical and extreme and dangerous these policies are for this country.
So they're going to stay away from all of this this week.
This is where con otter con artist Kamala comes into play.
It's a con.
It is a lie.
It is a ruse.
It is an illusion.
It is false.
It is pretense.
Their campaign has figured out one thing, that if Kamala were to run on her true belief system and her own stated positions in recent years, in the last three years, that she can't win.
So she's now got to somehow transform herself into something that she is not and run away from every deeply held belief that she has publicly stated over and over and over again.
You're not going to have those positions on display here in Chicago this week.
It's not going to happen.
They're not going to talk about the fact that she's flipping and flopping and that this is all a political calculation.
That's not going to happen.
You're not going to hear about the pro-Hamas lunatics whose asses the party has to kiss because they need their votes.
You know, that's why do you think that Kamala Harris was out there supporting the bail fund while we had 574 riots and cities burning to the ground and businesses burning and billions in property damaged, two dozen dead Americans, thousands of injured cops?
And why was she out there saying they're not going to stop?
They shouldn't stop.
We're not going to stop.
Take note.
Beware.
She said all of that.
Why do you think she did that?
Because that is the base of her party.
She can't run from them.
Well, these people that are protesting, they don't like Kamala.
No, they're going to vote for Kamala.
I've got articles today that I'm going to share with you.
You know, she's meeting with this mayor of Dearborn, one of the most radical people ever, just like she's meeting with people that want to stop supporting and sending weapons and support to Israel.
Well, excuse me, Israel was the victim of a word she doesn't want you to use, radical Islamic terrorism.
We need the courage to not use the word radical Islamic terrorism, and we need the courage not to use the term illegal alien.
So you're not going to hear about them in their own words, their own beliefs.
There's not going to be any mention of their flip-flops.
You're not going to hear most of the media will ignore.
We're not going to ignore these protests and the crazy, insane things that are being said even as we speak.
But I don't have time to get to it right.
I can't do everything at once.
But this is the base that she needs to vote for her if she wants to win.
And if she takes them on, it's only going to be in a minimal amount.
There's not going to be that, quote, sister soldier moment, as they call it.
Not going to happen.
You know, Democrats, that's why they defended the rioting in 2020.
They needed their base.
This is their party.
They are here because that is the party that they look.
Why did she not pick Shapiro?
Why did she go with the most radical guy in the world?
Why did she go so hardcore left in her first policy speech on Friday?
Because it's who she is.
That represents who she is.
And that is the base of her party.
And they're looking at this as a base election.
But we're going to try and do what the mob and the media won't do, and that is vet her and make sure.
That's why we've created the Kamala files and the Wall's files.
It's on Hannity.com.
It's at the top of the page.
Everything that they've said, you can download, share with friends, family, co-workers, and strangers and put it on social media.
We're not hiding it.
You know, you look at her position on the border.
It doesn't start and end with wanting to defund ICE, but decriminalizing illegal immigration, free taxpayer-funded housing, education, you name it.
And she actually once believed that terrorists would never come across our border and that Donald Trump, I'm going to play this.
Donald Trump building a border wall is a vanity project.
Well, the only problem is, is we now have identified people who are terrorized all over the country because we don't know where the hell they are.
And it doesn't include the Godaways.
Listen.
This is a crisis of the president's own making to fulfill his quest to build a vanity project called the Wall.
This is irresponsible.
It's the height of irresponsibility for the commander-in-chief to suggest that we have to build a wall across our southern border because there are terrorists who are trying to invade the country.
It couldn't be farther from the truth.
Couldn't be farther from the truth, how wrong she is.
You want to talk about the height of irresponsibility, the fact that you've allowed people from nearly 11 million plus from over 180 countries, many countries with terror ties and countries that are our top geopolitical foes, unvetted into this country.
And you don't take any responsibility for the murders, the rapes, the violent crimes committed against Americans, the tens and hundreds of billions of dollars that this has cost American taxpayers.
And now you want to offer amnesty?
You want, oh, sorry, path to citizenship.
That's amnesty.
Because that is her position.
But every single, why won't she ever mention the names of people murdered and raped by unvetted Harris Biden illegal immigrants?
Why won't we ever hear their names?
I mentioned their names.
I scrolled their names on television.
Names most people don't know about.
You know, they're not going to mention the people with terror ties confirmed in this country.
Now we want a pathway to citizenship.
And her running mate isn't any better.
Legal driver's licenses for people that don't respect our laws, our sovereignty, our borders.
He signed legislation to give illegals legal driver's licenses.
And he takes it a step further.
Not only a free education, free college education.
Well, we give them a free car and a brand new house.
Well, actually, they got a plan for that, too.
It's called communism, redistributionism, socialism.
It's pretty unbelievable.
Don't expect to hear them flip-flop, you know, either on any of this stuff.
You're not going to hear about their insane policies when it came to the summer of 2020 and the violence that took place, or that they still support these insane policies.
You're not going to hear about their inflation, 20% plus.
She's probably not going to talk about her plan to raise taxes on small business, on corporations, price gauging, as she calls it.
You're not going to hear about her desire to raise the estate tax.
You've already paid taxes on that money.
The death tax.
You're not going to hear her desire to raise taxes on pretty much everything.
Who pays taxes?
You do.
Corporations, they don't pay taxes.
You pay taxes.
They just pass the cost on to you.
800-941.
Sean, we're in Chicago, so you don't have to be.

They're not going to talk about their inflation policies.
They're going to talk, wow, on day one, I'm going to fix inflation in the border.
What have you been doing for nearly four years?
That's the question.
And anyway, so, you know, and then add to that, you know, now that Kamala Harris had to give a policy speech on price gauging.
What is price gauging?
Price gouging.
Anyway, she referenced how badly people are feeling economically.
And James, this is the wrong one.
That's not the right one.
I actually have the ones in it.
Here, take this.
There you go.
Thank you.
Anyway, reference how badly people are feeling economically and the high prices of everything.
These are things that are not going to be talked about this week.
It's going to be an orchestrated, feel-good, meaningless, you know, Hollywood production.
And a lot of conventions are like that.
I'm not saying this is just exclusively Democratic.
It is.
But there's never been a candidate ever that has had to change their true beliefs to the extent that these two have.
Because they can't win if you know who they are, as evidenced by that McLaughlin poll.
And if she's the last person in the room and she's bragging about Bidenomics and bragging about the Afghanistan withdrawal and bragging about their energy policy and the high price of gasoline being the cost of democracy and they're bragging about the border being secure and it's anything but it's become the biggest national security threat in our lifetime.
Never mind their foreign policy.
Never mind any of these policies.
So by the way, the profit margin in the grocery store industry, you know what it was last year?
It was 1.6%.
That's it.
You know how small a profit margin that is?
It's not exactly a big profit margin.
So what does that tell you?
That the profit, that price gouging is not the issue.
Let me tell you what price gouging is.
And the people that do something like this are just scumbags.
They're just idiots.
Yeah, let's say you have a natural disaster.
Let's say you have a hurricane, a tornado.
And let's say that bare necessities like water are in short supply, right?
You're waiting for the rest of the country to step up.
Americans always take care of their fellow Americans.
God forbid, natural disaster happens.
And then you have some jackass that happens to have a lot of bottled water and he starts selling it to you for $20 a bottle.
That's a jackass.
That's price gouging at a time of an emergency.
And she's out there claiming simple capitalism is price gouging.
Well, you put price controls in place the way she's now talking about what she's now talking about.
It results in shortages and it disincentivizes anybody in any manufacturing business from ever wanting to produce a product because then their profit margin goes down to nothing.
Then why are you in business if you're not there to make money?
What is the whole principle of Economics 101?
Supply and demand crisscross and that will dictate the price of goods and services.
Now, if you go to the store and let's say you want to buy frosty flakes.
Henry's frosty flakes.
I know, Tony the Tiger.
All right, if you want to buy Frosty Flakes and Frosty Flakes is $7 a box or $8 a box, which is about what it is, somewhere around there, at least where I'm shopping.
I don't buy Frosty Flakes.
Why don't I buy Frosty Flakes?
It has nothing to do with the cost.
It has something to do with the cost of my big stomach.
And I don't want it to get any bigger.
All right, you don't know what you're doing, James.
Just forget it.
I'll find it later.
Don't worry.
And I'm making this point to you because it's critical.
It is the greatest wealth creating system in the history of mankind.
And it's called capitalism.
And what she is now offering is this new Green Deal radical socialist idea where they're going to raise taxes to spend $93 trillion so you have government health care provided, but you can't have your own private insurance.
Medicare for all, she calls it, including illegal immigrants.
And they're going to have a guaranteed government job and guaranteed government daycare and guaranteed government education and guaranteed government preschool and guaranteed government retirement and guaranteed.
Okay, what has government ever done that is good?
What are they running so efficiently that you want to duplicate the model of government?
Let's see.
Social Security and Medicare are headed towards insolvency.
And you watch, they're going to keep raising the retirement age to basically, you might get your Social Security benefits two days before you're scheduled to die.
That's their way of pretty much robbing you of your Social Security that you were promised, and you pay it into your entire adult life.
This is insanity.
This is bad policy.
How's that keep your doctor, keep your plan and save money thing working out?
Well, millions of Americans lost their doctors, millions lost their plans, and on average, we're paying about 300% more under Obamacare than we were paying before.
How's your post office working out for you?
You prefer DHL, you prefer UPS, you prefer FedEx.
What do you use?
What do you use?
FedEx.
All right.
FedEx is last time I checked their private company?
FedEx.
Okay.
People use all of these other UPS.
I know my FedEx driver.
He's awesome.
I know my UPS guy.
I actually know my postman, too.
I like them.
I try to give all of them a tip every year at Christmas.
Say thank you for their service every year because they work so hard.
Those guys are on a clock.
Do you know that they have GPS monitors on them all day long?
And if they are at a stop for two seconds longer than they should be, they're like, well, why aren't you moving?
I mean, they just drive those guys hard.
But, you know, they're pretty good, high-paying career jobs, but you really got to hustle and bust your ass and do a good job.
So they're not going to refer to their higher energy prices as the cost of democracy, as Kamala has said.
They're not going to refer to her real position on taxing tips for service workers because she cast the tiebreaking vote in that effort, which empowered the IRS and funded them to the tune of 87,000 new agents with a plan to specifically go after service workers to tax their tips.
So that's an election year conversion and a lie.
It's not the real Kamala Harris.
You know, she sponsored the Medicare for All bill with Bernie Sanders in the Senate.
That would eliminate the private health insurance and government-run health care, universal health care.
She sponsored with Bernie Sanders, the Green New Deal.
None of this is going to be talked about this week.
They're not going to talk about raising every tax imaginable.
They're not going to talk about any of these things.
She has changed her position on everything.
And it is, what does she really believe?
She wants the Green New Deal.
She is a radical leftist, communist, socialist.
Use whatever term you want.
But it always ends the same way.
Unfulfilled promises.
It ends up in more poverty and a loss of freedom.
That's where that movie is going to end eventually.
The problem is the damage may be so great, you know, it may be irreparable harm done to the entire country.
And that is a scary proposition, at least to me.
You're not going to hear about any of the insanity of this.
That's what this week is like.
You're not going to hear about their foreign policy, how Kamala and Joe made Iran rich again by turning a blind eye to the sanctions that were enforced by Trump, or the fact that they gave sanction waivers so they can get tens of billions of dollars in payments from Iraq and elsewhere, or the $6 billion that they wanted to give the mullahs in Iran.
All of that money is used to foment terror, including what happened on October the 7th.
They believe in weakness, appeasement.
The level of ignorance is chilling and dangerous.
It is America abandoning its role as the leader of the free world, abdicating their responsibility and such.
And, you know, she's not going to, she is giving in.
Like, why didn't she go to BB speech?
Why has Joe and Kamala been telling Israel to show restraint every other day?
Why didn't they help Israel in their counterattack after the assault on Israel with all those missiles being fired into Israel?
Why didn't they do any of that?
Anyway, other things going on here.
Democrats are offering their free abortion pills and vasectomies, you know, courtesy of Planned Parenthood.
I remember when Rush used to say that abortion had become a sacrament within the Democratic Party.
He actually used those words.
And you think about no restraint at all, no restrictions at all on abortion up to the moment of birth?
Because that's where Walls and Kamala are.
You want to talk about radical abortion views?
All right, Donald Trump supports the Supreme Court decision, readily available the abortion pill, which represents two-thirds of abortions anywhere, anyway.
And he wants the states to decide.
That means if California wants 30 weeks, they're going to make 30 weeks.
And that's the end of it, and the federal government will have no role in it.
But anyway, now we have, you know, think about this.
They're able to offer a convention gift shop.
Let's see, t-shirts, coffee mugs, tote bags.
I got my abortion at the DNC, what, t-shirt?
I mean, are they going to proudly say that?
I got fixed.
I got my vasectomy at the.
I mean, what is this?
You walk in and you just go in and say, yeah, I'll take my free vasectomy, please.
You know, stand in line, sir.
We have another 15 guys ahead of you.
Man, oh, man.
Planned Parenthood gets an awful lot of your taxpayer dollars.
You know, they have a bus headed to the DNC, and I guess it's here, and they're offering these free services, including free vasectomies, medications, abortions, and emergency contraception.
What is an emergency contraception?
Is that like morning after pill?
I don't even know.
Emergency.
I just met this guy.
I need an emergency contraception.
I want to hook up with him really bad.
Columbia University's anti-Israel group seeks the total eradication of Western civilization.
This was in the New York Post today.
These anti-Israel and pro-Hamas radicals, in this case from Columbia, pushing the total eradication of Western civilization, threatening even more extreme tactics to accomplish their twisted goal of until the empire crumbles.
Great.
These pro-Hamas protesters are greeting DNC delegates.
Welcome to Hell Week.
Not making that up either, also in the New York Post.
But protests got underway on the eve of the DNC, and demonstrators disrupting a delegate party with a warning, welcome to Hell Week.
Can't wait till they see me.
You have seven massive Israel-hating demonstrations are set to greet the Democrats this week, at least seven, and prompting security officials to reportedly warn that House Democrats not use their real names when booking their hotels over safety concerns.
Now, if you're going, if this is your own base and you're going to your own convention and you have to avoid people, but you still need their vote, that tells you everything you need to know about this radicalized Democratic Party.
Anyway, 100,000 far-left Israel-hating protesters descending here in Chicago this week.
Chicago businesses, they're prepared for tonight's Democratic convention.
How are they preparing?
They're boarding up their businesses.
Can't blame them.
Business owners probably prefer the Democrats to pick somewhere else.
Anyway, scores of downtown Chicago businesses have been boarded up over concerns.
Then you have this dopey mayor here that basically is supporting these radicals.
Can't make this stuff up either, but that is your modern Democratic Party.
Harris Biden illegal, by the way, just breaking, has been charged with raping a 10-year-old boy in Mississippi.
Wow.
Social media post by the Patonata County Sheriff.
I don't know how to say it.
The suspect in the case, a 34-year-old Filberto Gonzalez from Mexico, illegal Harris Biden unvetted immigrant.
Anyway, arrested after an investigation, the perpetrator was charged with two counts of rape of a 10-year-old male.
After obtaining arrest warrants and a search warrant, the perpetrator was arrested.
Great.
Welcome to Chicago.
Anyway, so much to get to.
So little time.
What else do we have?
Oh, another Biden Harris was arrested.
This time the victim was pregnant.
A Haitian man in the U.S. illegally arrested by ICE for raping a pregnant woman at a Massachusetts illegal immigrant hotel.
Borders are Kamala Harris swamped a small Ohio town of 60,000 residents with 20,000 illegals.
I mean, this is madness.
If this country does not get to the bottom of this, we're not going to have a country.
It won't exist.
Hey, listen, you're going to love the Reagan movie.
This movie's so good.
And it's out on August the 30th.
You get a chance to see Reagan.
It's in theaters all across the country.
What strikes me about the timing of the movie is the parallels in the times we're living through right now.
Remember, they said this about Reagan.
He'd start World War III and he was a radical.
Anyway, inflation, rising gas prices, Russia, weak leader, assassination attempt.
Sound familiar?
Well, it's 79 all over again.
And the way Reagan handled all these tough situations is inspiring.
Dennis Quaid is a great actor.
He's amazing as President Reagan.
