Lee Zeldin, Former New York Congressman, Gubernatorial Nominee, and Attorney, has been making the rounds as a Trump Legal Surrogate. Following today’s closing arguments and this past weekend’s incredible showing in the Bronx. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Stay right here for our final news roundup and information overload.
All right, news roundup and information overload hour.
Here is our toll-free telephone number.
It's 800-941-Sean, if you want to be a part of the program, as this has been nothing but closing arguments day in this ridiculous case involving Donald Trump with the defense going first and the prosecution, you know, going forward with their closing arguments going to the jury.
And after, of course, I'm sure, pretty pious based on the previous conduct of the judge leading up to this point, jury instructions, which I'm pretty sure will be there.
One interesting thing that has evolved in the state of New York, and you see this with the elections, you see, I mentioned earlier, Democrats in a full-blown freakout over Joe Biden and where he stands in the polls.
Minority voters, Hispanic Americans, African Americans, young people, a big part of the Democratic Party base abandoning Biden in massive, massive numbers.
You saw James Carvel absolutely losing it over the weekend, claiming that Biden is dragged down by radical Democrats.
And James, with all due respect, he is one.
And he said the messaging is just full of Adam Schiff and stop ignoring the economy.
We played a lot of those earlier, but James Carvel suggesting Democrats steal Trump's medical records.
I mean, this is all part of a desperation campaign that is, well, I guess Biden should be so happy.
He got James Comey's endorsement.
And then you look at the poll numbers and they're disastrous.
A majority of Democrats now say they want to dump Joe before it's too late.
You have Nate Silver urging Biden to drop out of the race.
If these poll numbers don't improve by August, you have to pull the emergency lever.
But anyway, Trump's poll numbers continue to improve as this show trial has been dragging on.
Morning Console, Trump is leading Biden in swing states by an average of four points.
Trump has wiped out Biden's eight-point lead in New Hampshire, as I mentioned.
And Biden's approval rating, according to Reuters, has now sunk to 36% in the latest poll that they have out there, which is why panic has fully set in.
I mean, how did New York State become single-digits after Donald Trump lost by like 20 in 2020?
And what's happening in the state of New Jersey where Donald Trump has picked up 11?
I mean, these are pretty fascinating times to live in.
And I will tell you that I've been saying this.
Not many people have been listening, but I've been saying it over and over again.
Donald Trump cannot get a fair trial in New York.
He did not, regardless of what the outcome is.
And secondly, and maybe more importantly, I don't think it's going to impact this race at all.
If anything, it'll boomerang back.
I mean, to see as many people show up in the Bronx in New York to listen to Donald Trump was amazing on the heels of that massive crowd in New Jersey.
It's unbelievable.
Here's Donald Trump in the Bronx.
I will rapidly rebuild the greatest economy in the history of the world.
Look, we had the greatest economy in history.
Everybody here, where you have a small business or if you had a job, you were getting more than you ever made.
And we had no inflation.
We had no 1.4% considered none, considered better than none, because frankly, none in its own way is a bad thing also.
We had a perfect number, 1.4%.
It doesn't matter whether you're black or brown or white or whatever the hell color you are, it doesn't matter.
We are all Americans, and we're going to pull together as Americans.
Lee Zeldin, former 2022 Republican gubernatorial candidate from New York, former congressman, is with us.
Are these not the craziest times I think I've ever lived through in terms of lawfare, weaponization of our justice system?
We still live in a situation where nobody can even identify what law it is that they're accusing Trump of having violated.
And no idea of what the underlying charge is while we're in closing arguments in a state where the defense has to give their closing argument before the prosecution does.
So you have the job of being the defense counsel for President Trump, and you have to prepare your response as it relates to all of the elements of the charges.
Well, one of the elements is that there's an underlying charge.
They still haven't shown it.
These are unprecedented times.
These are crazy times.
And when the Democrats are busy lecturing Republicans about how Republicans and President Trump are a threat to democracy, the Democrats are actively trying to remove President Trump from the ballot altogether to deny Americans the right to pick for themselves who the next president should be.
They want to incarcerate President Trump for the rest of his life.
They want to bankrupt him and his family.
The lawfare that's going on right now, the election interference is the greatest threat against democracy of our entire lifetime.
Yeah, it's crazy times that we're living in.
And these people, I don't even think that they're done pulling out the stops.
They probably have a plan C, D, and E to continue to fight between now, Election Day, November, and beyond, to make sure President Trump never gets into office again.
Well, the one thing that is almost universal now, they are in a complete meltdown and a complete panic.
Look, I'll be honest, I thought you outperformed any expectations I had, not because you weren't a great candidate, not because you didn't offer a great vision for New York.
It's just that so many people have left New York that the people that otherwise, had they stayed, would have voted for you.
And I think if this was 10 years ago, if you were running, I think you would have won your race for governor.
I mean, Hochul's been a disaster.
I mean, again, telling people, good, I'm glad you're out of here.
Good, get out of here.
I mean, she loves saying that to New Yorkers, which I don't quite understand why any governor would be that divisive.
But guess what?
People are listening and they're leaving.
Yours truly.
And I just wonder, however, if you were running this year, if you would have a much greater chance of winning.
I mean, I just think about that, and I'm like, I actually believe you would.
The state continues to trend further to the right.
It's happened big time since Biden took office.
We saw the odd year elections of 2021 and 2023 with local races.
And then in 2022, it continues to trend right.
New York elected 11 House Republicans, six Republican freshmen in districts that Joe Biden had won.
The border crisis wasn't a top three issue for New Yorkers, and for many New Yorkers, now it's the number one issue.
Eric Adams' numbers are worse.
Kathy Hochul's numbers are worse.
Joe Biden's numbers are worse.
So things continue to trend to the right.
There was a Sienna College poll that came out towards the end of last week.
It showed President Trump about nine points behind Joe Biden.
But in that poll, only 22% of that poll were registered Republicans.
Well, that would be predicting the lowest Republican turnout in the history of New York State.
That's not happening in November.
They oversampled New York City at 39%.
They didn't even put Bobby Kennedy Jr.'s name in the poll at all.
So all other things being equal, when you say that Ciena College is coming back at nine points advantage with these other dynamics, this race might be closer than 9%.
And I feel like there are a lot of independent-minded people and long-time Democrats, including black voters, Asian voters, Hispanic voters.
They voted Democrat forever, but they're so pissed off when they see President Trump showing up in the South Bronx.
They feel like there's someone talking to them who wants to reach out and engage with them and earn their support.
And they're ready to try something different because their city's going down the tubes.
Their state is, and they feel like their country is as well.
Doesn't it really come down to three issues now for New Yorkers?
Yeah, you're right.
They weren't paying attention to open borders.
Okay, now they are.
Inflation is impacting families all across the state of New York.
I mean, you could solve the problem in New York financially and not have to regulate and tax people out of the state the way they have.
You could do it by simply opening up fracking like they have in adjacent Pennsylvania.
It has resulted in a massive influx of money for that state.
And then, of course, it's, you know, sanctuary city status and state status and defund and dismantle and reimagine the police and no bail laws.
I mean, the level of lawlessness, especially in the city of New York, is out of control, which is where you got hurt the most when you ran.
You did really well in the suburbs in Long Island.
You did really well in upstate New York.
You did horrible in the largest area in the entire country.
And it's not your fault if it's nine to ten Democrats outnumber Republicans.
Well, I'll tell you, in 2018 for the governor's race, it was about 15% of the vote going to the Republican candidate.
We were able to double that to over 30%.
If President Trump is able to grow on that, if he's able to get 35, 36, 37% of the vote inside of New York City, that really changes things as far as the numbers across the rest of the state.
And I feel like things are trending in the right direction for all the different reasons that you just referenced with regards to crime and cost of living and the quality of education and the Biden border crisis.
It all adds up to these New Yorkers who are hitting their boiling point.
I just got back this past weekend from a mission with the Army overseas.
I was in a country far away where I went out to a restaurant.
It was a nice restaurant, good food.
The food, the meal, including tax and tip, came out to $10.
I was telling my wife after this how affordable life in this place, which was not a third world country at this moment, this night, the next day I go out and ended up costing $9.75.
It's crazy that New Yorkers and Americans have gotten numb to the inflation over the course of the last few years, not realizing it doesn't have to be this way.
By the way, I don't think they've gotten numb to it.
I don't think they're surviving.
I mean, 60% of the country living paycheck to paycheck.
Among that 60%, a very high percentage of Americans are putting their bare necessities on credit cards with massive interest rates.
That's right.
The household debt, which is going up, the people who want to go purchase a home.
Maybe they want to get a little bit of a bigger home.
They can't do it because of interest rates.
And you start looking inside of the cities.
The cities are where you'll find the highest housing costs.
It's where you'll find the highest cost of living.
So it's the Democratic voters who are suffering the most.
We saw it at the city council meeting in Chicago where the black Democratic voters are showing up, flipping out about how their tax dollars are going to fund people who aren't even legally in the country.
There are people who are suffering around the United States.
The ones who are suffering the most are the people who have been voting Democrat forever.
All right, quick break, right back.

With Trump's surrogate and former gubernatorial candidate from New York, former congressman from New York, Lee Zeldin is with us.
Pretty amazing times that we're living in.
I've got to wonder, do you think, maybe put New York aside, when you look at these numbers and swing states that I just mentioned to you, and then you look at this show trial, do you think this trial, whatever the verdict may end up being, and I think the judge literally has basically put cinder blocks on the side of the prosecution in the final days of this trial just because things had gone so badly for the prosecution.
And I really don't have a feel for which way this is going to turn out, regardless how it turns out.
I don't think it's going to have an impact on the election.
Ultimately, your thoughts?
Well, I think that a lot of Americans, including people who haven't even been supporters of President Trump, they see this as a political prosecution.
And for supporters of President Trump, they are going to be more intense with their support of President Trump than they've ever been.
People wanting to do whatever they possibly can, no matter what corner of America they live in.
They're watching what's happening in Manhattan with the way President Trump's being treated and what's going on in other jurisdictions elsewhere, and they want to do their part.
I would say if you live in Pennsylvania and you see some poll that says President Trump's up by two points, you should forget that.
Imagine that he's behind because he might be because of the universal mail-in balloting law.
We need to lean into early voting, get low-propensity friends and family and neighbors out to vote.
You live in Nevada, you see some poll that says President Trump is up by two points.
Maybe he's not because in Nevada they increase their early voting.
They have ballot harvesting.
It's legal there.
We need to lean into these tactics and get low propensity voters out.
So no matter what polls come out that are rosy, I think it's important for us to campaign like we're behind.
For anyone out there pissed off about what they're seeing in Manhattan, we all can do our part to make sure that Joe Biden is not rewarded for this with four more years.
Well, I couldn't say it any better.
And you're singing from the same hymnal.
Been telling people they've got to overcome any reluctance and resistance they may have to early voting or voting by mail.
And Republicans better match and hopefully surpass the efforts of legal ballot harvesting.
And if they don't, they make it a big mistake.
If you don't vote early, well, you may have a situation like what happened in my former district when I lived in New York, the Santos runoff, where, oh, it ends up snowing that day and Democrats banked their votes and Republicans didn't.
I mean, how many more times do you have to learn the lesson?
You can't start out Election Day down hundreds of thousands of votes and expect to catch up and win.
Anyway, Lee Zeldon, great to have you back, my friend.
Thank you.
Legal spokesperson and advisor to us President Trump and a surrogate.
Thank you, sir.

Well, as we've been following the closing arguments all day today in this Trump trial and this sham trial in New York, it's pretty unbelievable.
I love the prosecution.
You don't need to believe Cohn to find there was a conspiracy.
Oh, really?
Well, he's your main witness.
What are you talking about?
You don't need to commit election fraud to falsify your business record.
What does that even mean to the jury?
What does that even mean?
I mean, you don't need to commit election.
You actually have to show intent.
Can't believe the judge was letting any of this hit.
You know, and then he rebuts the defense arguments about phone records.
You know, they seem to be questioning our integrity, he said, but he argued the defense that didn't properly depict the phone records.
Oh, okay.
So this is what the afternoon has been like all day.
And then outside the courtroom, of course, it's just what you would expect.
You know, Robert De Niro.
Now, this was a huge political mistake, a miscalculation on the Biden part.
You know, Biden said he wasn't going to comment on the trial while it was ongoing.
Well, he broke that rule today.
And, of course, sending his surrogates to the courtroom, not because they wanted to show up at the courtroom.
No, they would have you believe it's because that's where the press is and they wanted to go where the press is.
And they bring along with them Robert De Niro, comparing Trump to a tyrant.
Listen.
I mean, this is really, even these people over here, it's kind of crazy.
It's really crazy.
And this thing, Donald Trump has created this.
He should be telling them not to do this.
But he's just wants to sow total chaos, which he's succeeding in some areas and places to do.
I love this city.
I love this city.
I don't want to destroy it.
Donald Trump to destroy not only the city, but the country.
Eventually, he could destroy the world.
But we vowed to not allow terrorists to do.
I owe this city.
That's why it's so weird that Donald Trump is just across the street.
Because he doesn't belong in my city.
I don't know where he belongs, but he certainly doesn't belong here.
But it's a coward's violence.
Do you think Trump ever threw a punch himself or took one?
This guy who ran and hid in the White House bunker when there were protesters outside?
No way.
He doesn't get blood on his hands.
No, he doesn't.
He directs the mob to do his dirty work for him by making a suggestion, an inference.
And his gang grovels and follows his obvious order.
It's no surprise that the murder rate and other violent crimes peaked under Trump and are falling under Biden.
And now he's promising to use our own military to attack U.S. citizens.
That's the tyrant.
That's the tyrant he's telling us he'll be.
And believe me, he means it.
Unbelievable.
Yeah, freedom of speech for the good fellows actor.
He doesn't belong in my city.
I guess, you know, Donald Trump has been so awful to the city of New York with Woolman Rink and all the buildings that he built and all the jobs that he created.
He's a disaster for the city.
He doesn't belong in my city.
He wants to destroy the country and the city and the world.
Pretty unbelievable times.
With all of this said, there is a full-down freakout by the Democrats over what's happening with Joe Biden.
That's the big story of the day.
And it's regardless of how this turns out.
I've told you he couldn't get a fair trial in New York.
He didn't get a fair trial in New York, regardless of what the outcome is.
Do I think there's a chance of a hung jury?
I do.
Acquittal less so.
But, you know, it will depend on what this jury is instructed.
And I don't think it's going to be favorable to Donald Trump.
Trump, as I've been saying all day, Carville can claim that all he wants is that Biden is being dragged down by radical Democrats.
No, these are his policies.
You know, unless you're saying that he's not making the decisions, which I don't think Carville wants to say, you know, and Democratic messaging is, you know, full of Adam Schiff.
Stop ignoring the economy and talk about the cost of living.
And we're going to help deal with this.
And don't talk about effing Gaza and student loans.
That is so out.
And then he goes on, you know, why we're forgiving student loans for people that go to Harvard.
Why are we doing that?
I can answer, James, because you've become the party of coastal elites.
It's no longer the party that you knew.
They'd be smart to listen to James Carville, but they're not going to listen to James Carville.
Anyway, listen to him.
And then, of course, he loses his mind saying the Democrats should steal Trump's medical records and find out if he has secondary syphilis.
It's a relevant issue.
Relevant to who?
Well, listen.
Ask him one question.
Get Keith Schiller, steal Trump's medical records from his internist.
And where are these medical records?
Prove that you're fair.
Ask him and keep asking him.
And the same thing for the Biden campaign, because you and I are not stupid.
We know why he stole the records.
All right?
Put it this way.
We have a strong suspicion is he stole the records because he had to clap.
And look up, go to the Mayo Clinic or Web Bimdy or whatever.
You know, I'll get a ration.
I'll look it up on the computer.
Go look, look up how insidious a disease a secondary syphilis can be.
I mean, he's lost his mind.
You can't even make it up.
Anyway, let's get to our phones: 800-941-Sean.
If you want to be a part of the program, Janet, South Carolina, Janet, thanks for your patience.
Glad you called.
Obviously, it's a busy news day.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I just wanted to mention all the weirdo idiosyncrasies that have happened during the trial.
The 14-year-old phone call for a minute and a half to me is very strange how.
Well, that's the call that, again, the text messages show that Trump's, well, they call him bodymen.
He's really, really his security guard.
Keith Schiller is his name.
And that Michael Cohn was panicked because I guess some prankster 14-year-old was getting in touch with him, and he wanted help with that.
And Schiller says to call, and he calls, and he said, Yeah, yeah, that's the minute and 36-second call in which he talked to Schiller about the 14-year-old and informed Trump about Stormy Daniels, although later testimony he corroborated that, in fact, he bragged to all of these reporters that, in fact, he himself, meaning Michael Cohn, was telling them that he did all of this on his own and didn't tell Trump.
So, you know, which Michael Cohn, the gloat, as they called him today, the greatest liar of all time.
Right.
He's an habitual liar.
And I tried to get Cohen's phone number, and I certainly couldn't get it to give him a prank phone call.
So I just think that's very strange that they're hanging their hat on that ridiculous statement.
And I just think Trump, as you say often, the justice system is a double justice system.
And it's so sad, but I think he's been treated so unfairly.
And I think that the judge today, you know, has a chance to do the right thing.
And hopefully he will, and that America can be great again.
The judge is not going to ever rule in favor of anything the Trump defense wants to bring forward.
The judge is stacking the deck in these final days of this campaign and putting cinder blocks on literally the scales of justice here, as far as I'm concerned.
And you saw that with you there.
And I want to say that I think Robert De Niro is Robert DeWirdo.
That was just deplorable what he did and what he said.
It made no sense.
Appreciate the call, Janet.
Thank you.
Lorenzo Georgia next on the Sean Hannity Show.
Hi.
Hello.
How are you?
I'm good.
How are you?
I am doing great.
Well, what I want to say, first of all, is I think that this trial is a load of crap.
Cohen is a horrible, horrible witness.
The Democrats are afraid.
I mean, they're afraid because Trump is building momentum.
So what are they going to do?
They put Cohen up on the stand.
He's a convicted felon.
He's a liar.
He's a horrible witness.
I mean, you can't believe anything that comes out of this man's mouth.
I mean, he stole it from Trump.
And I mean, he stole it from the Trump organization.
I mean, he admitted that.
And all of a sudden, you want us to believe the things that you're saying now?
Really, though?
Really?
I found it laughable when the defense began their closing arguments.
They were so defensive and have been throughout most of the afternoon about Michael Cohn.
Oh, Cohen was convicted of a crime that was at Trump's direction, which the defense rightly said, Your Honor, we object because there's been no evidence in this case that ever came out that made that point at all.
And you can't blame Cohn for selling merchandise and making money on Trump.
Really?
When the guy admits he wants him in prison and the merchandise we're talking about is Trump behind bars and that he admits on the stand that he will benefit from Trump's conviction.
Oh, that's not relevant?
Their star witness?
Seriously?
And it's amazing that Cohen did this stuff himself.
Trump did not direct him to do anything.
He decided, I want to protect Trump.
I mean, Trump didn't say, do this for me.
And then you are going after Trump to tell him that he owes you money for a payment.
Well, first of all, you did that.
You wanted to be in his graces.
But that's not the problem here.
The problem here is that you are a liar.
You are a convicted felon.
Every single time that you were on the stand, sworn under oath, you lied every single time.
Trump did not tell you to do tax evasion.
Trump did not tell you to do fraud.
I mean, you're a horrible witness.
We can't believe anything that comes out of your mouth.
Absolutely nothing.
Oh, that's pretty much why they called him the gloat, which I thought was very smart because it's memorable.
The greatest liar of all time.
And which Michael Cohen are you going to believe?
The Michael Cohen that testified that he told all of everybody that would listen in the media that he, in fact, did this on his own, or the Michael Cohn that now wants to make money off Donald Trump, the Michael Cohen that's been a convicted liar, admitted liar, and now an admitted thief on top of it.
It's all relevant, which is why they've spent so much time trying to rehabilitate how bad Cohn was as a witness and how bad Stormy was as a witness and just dismiss it all.
Anyway, Lorenzo, appreciate it.
Big time, AJ, Houston, Texas.
What's going on, big time?
We have about two minutes.
All yours.
Glad to hear your voice, my friend.
Big time, Sean Hannity.
Hey, hope everybody had a great Memorial Day.
We're going through storms right here, right now.
Our lights just went out and everything.
But hey, he ain't going to be convicted.
Them jurors are going to do the right thing.
They ain't got no choice but to do the right thing.
And the mother clowns that's outside talking, you know what?
They just don't have no idea of what's going on.
But we will find out.
And Joe Biden going to speak?
Really?
He going to speak?
What are you going to talk about?
You the biggest liar we got in the White House, and he going to speak?
Come on.
Everybody should know that this administration has got our country in the baddest, worsen shape we ever saw.
The borders, jobs, crime, you name it, it's all bad under Joe Biden.
And to take that Trump is the fault?
Oh, we know what Trump did in four years.
Come on, Sean.
You know better.
