All right, Leonard Skinner, Simple Man.
All things simple man means only one thing on this show, and that's all things Bill O'Reilly.
All things Bill O'Reilly at BillO'Reilly.com.
You know, Bill, words have meanings.
Now, you used to be an English teacher, right?
I did.
I taught high school English.
And by the way, I bet you were strict.
I bet you were a mean teacher, and I bet you were a tough grader.
I'm just guessing.
True or false?
I was the original Mr. Cotter.
Remember that show?
Welcome back, Connor.
That was me.
Yeah, I was John Gravolta.
Okay, got it.
All right.
So you, words have meanings.
For example, if I were to ask what the definition of recession is, you would know what it means.
It's two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth.
That has historically and always been the definition of a recession.
Is that correct?
As far as I know, it is.
Okay.
Now, I want to play for you.
Brian Dees, Council of Economic Advisors for your President, Joe, and Joe Biden himself telling us that that is not the definition of a recession.
Listen.
The president's economic advisors were telling us last year that inflation was going to be temporary.
That's not true.
Now the president's economic advisors are saying there's not going to be a recession.
Are you sure?
Well, let me just say this.
We look at a range of data.
We assess that data and we lay it out for ourselves and for the president.
But you don't have to take our word on this.
Mr. President, we're getting GDP numbers on Thursday.
How worried should Americans be that we could be in a recession?
We're not going to be in a recession, in my view.
Okay, so Bill O'Reilly, and I can go through the rest of the cabinet, and they're all saying the same thing, that this is not a recession.
If you look at the broader definition of what a recession is, and the media mob is getting involved in this too, Bill.
They're claiming we don't know what a recession.
Washington Post, for example, you know, they're saying recession experts don't think we are in one, and neither do I. You know, total hacks at the AP are saying that the economy is shrinking for two quarters is not the definition of a recession that, quote, counts.
So they're spinning for Biden.
They're spinning for the Democrats.
They're spinning the failure away.
But the American people know different, Bill, because we are all suffering because of these policies.
Well, as well as 25% of Democrats want Joe Biden to run again.
And by the way, I'm going to point out, Anthony, I was, I think, the first guy to tell everybody that Biden would not run again in 24, and he won't.
But look, the Biden cabinet, I wrote a column on this on billorilly.com on Sunday.
I hope you took a look at it.
I compared the Biden cabinet, which includes the economic advisors, to the 1962 Mets, Hannity.
The worst team in baseball.
Yeah.
Ever.
Yes.
ACC said, can anybody here play this game?
And seven years later, they won the World Series, the Miracle Mets.
By the way, I can give you the whole lineup of that Met team if you're interested.
In 1962?
1969.
Oh, 1969.
But anyway, I go down the list.
So Alejandro Mayorkis, head of Homeland Security, he says the board is secure, Hannity.
He says it's secure.
There's no problem there.
And just yesterday, the Attorney General, Merrick Garland, said, hey, you know, it's not the crime crisis.
It's a little annoying, but it's not really a crisis.
Meantime, thousands of people would be murdered in the streets.
So everyone knows everyone who's fair-minded, and that leaves out, unfortunately, a bunch of Americans, but everybody who's fair-minded knows this is a disaster.
This Biden administration is a disaster.
And so we assume that in three months, just about, the Republicans will take over the House and the Senate, and then Joe Biden will be basically neutered.
He won't be able to do anything.
The executive orders will all be challenged in federal court, and he'll sit there for two years.
If he makes that, the Democrats would like to get rid of him now.
Well, look, it's not just the lying.
Like when your kids got in trouble, you call your children urchins, which I don't understand.
But we'll put that aside for now.
When your kids get in trouble, that's one thing.
But then when they lie to you, I would always say to my kids when they tried to, oh, I didn't take the cookie, Dad, I swear.
Meanwhile, they had a cookie all over their face.
I'm like, okay, stop insulting my intelligence.
They'd get more trouble for lying than they would for whatever the actual offense might have been.
But Hannity, Hannity, what do you expect them to say?
Do you expect anybody from the president on down to say, you know what?
We're screwing up.
We have no blanket idea what we're doing.
We're really sorry.
All Americans are suffering.
We didn't mean it, but we don't know what we're doing.
That's the only answer.
There's no other answer.
And they're never going to say that.
So they're going to depend on their trusty press allies to try to spin stuff.
It is insulting.
You're absolutely right.
It's insulting to anybody with any intelligence how they pretend that we're really not in bad economic shape when people are suffering before their eyes.
You know, Bill, this is the thing that bothers me the most about this.
It's how deep this is at this particular moment.
That really, really bothers me.
You know, I look at the statistics.
40% of Americans are having difficulty just even paying their bills.
We're not even talking about the necessities here.
They can't pay.
91 million adults are unable now to afford everyday household expenses because of inflation and Biden's economic and energy policies.
Consumer confidence index declined for the third straight month.
Biden told us in December, inflation, it reached its peak and it's going to begin to decline.
They said it was transitory.
None of these things were true.
Foreclosures are on the rise.
New home sales have dropped to a multi-year low.
Motor vehicles are now being repossessed at a rate we haven't seen in many, many years.
You know, even ice cream trucks, I told a story on this program yesterday.
They're forced off the streets.
They can't afford the price of diesel.
Walmart warning investors that profits are drying up, and it's all going to get worse from here because now the housing market, Bill, and you know, I know a thing or two about this because I was a contractor.
New home construction is going to come to a screeching halt.
Following that, you're going to see the sale of existing homes decline because nobody's going to want to give up their 3% mortgage for 30 years and pay 7%.
And home values will then plummet, just like people's 401ks and IRAs have plummeted.
That's how bad this is going to get.
And it's going to not have a soft landing.
And it's going to be many years, I think, before we can climb out of this.
Well, I don't know about that.
I'm not smart enough to be able to predict the economic future, but I do know there is some good news in all of this.
Because if the Biden administration had succeeded with its vast government spending, its open borders, its contempt for capitalism and traditional tenants, if it had succeeded, if we were living in an economic age, for example, like we had under Donald Trump, then the progressive woke culture would have prevailed.
Since it's failing so dismally, not only is Biden going down, but all of the progressives are going down with him.
They know it.
That's why only 25% of Democrats want him to run again.
So I'm making a prediction, and I say that the next anointed one for the Democratic Party is going to be Gavin Newsom.
Am I right or wrong?
Michelle Obama.
Michelle Obama, I don't think, wants any part of this.
I'm assuming that in my calculation.
But Gavin Newsom can't win because California is the poster state for progressive excess.
People are leaving that state.
Hundreds of thousands of people are leaving the state.
The cost of living is higher than anyone.
Taxes are the highest except for New York, where we are.
The woke culture dominates.
It's an insane asylum.
I was out there in May.
An insane asylum.
You can't even walk the streets of San Francisco and downtown Los Angeles.
And you're telling me this guy is going to get elected president?
No.
Quick break.
We'll come back more with Simple Man Bill O'Reilly.
AllthingsO'Reilly at BillOReilly.com.
Then your calls at the bottom of the half hour, 800-941-SHAWN, our number if you want to be a part of the program as we roll along today.
Joe Biden can't spell it, and he can't keep them for the American people.
Check out the Sean Hannity Jobs Forum today.
Now, and it is on Coast to Coast.
All right, more with simple man Bill O'Reilly.
All things O'Reilly at BillOReilly.com.
Bill, it's only been 18 months, 41-year high of inflation, record high gas prices.
The only reason gas prices are down a little bit, but it's still twice what Joe Biden inherited in terms of cost, is because of the strategic petroleum reserves.
And God forbid, we may need that energy if a refinery is hit by a hurricane this fall.
And he has to buy more, which drives up inflation again to increase government spending.
But again, look, I'm a historian.
I combine journalism with history.
Biden right now stands as a tie for the second worst president of all time.
He's tied with Herbert Hoover.
And actually, Biden probably will pass Old Herbert because he's only been in office a year and a half.
And Herbert inherited the Great Depression.
And he didn't cause it, but he didn't do anything about it.
He just let people die in the streets, and Herbert didn't do anything.
But Biden caused this.
And if it does get worse, as you think it will, then you can't pass James Buchanan, who's partially responsible for the Civil War.
He's the worst ever and always will be.
But Biden, that's how bad Biden is.
He makes Jimmy Carter look like Abraham Lincoln.
I mean, that's how bad this guy is.
Yeah.
Well, I think it's that bad, and I think it's going to get worse.
And this is the part that drives me crazy.
We can secure our border bill.
We can go back to the Trump policy.
This hit it.
Okay.
We can also have cheap energy.
Trump did it.
We were energy independent.
I want to be energy dominant, Bill.
Right now, 80% of natural gas, Putin has turned off the spigot to Western Europe, and they're struggling.
They're now trying to take mothballed, coal-fired power plants and get them back online.
They're that desperate for energy in Western Europe, especially a country like Germany so dependent on Russia and Vladimir Putin, hostile regime, hostile actor.
And the worst part is you would think we would learn from Europe's mistake.
No.
Now, when Joe said he's going to eliminate fossil fuels, he didn't say just domestically.
He didn't tell us he would import energy oil from Russia and Iran even last year, or would send emissaries to Venezuela or go beg, you know, the pariah nation, as he called it, Saudi Arabia, and talk to the crown prince that he says murdered Jamal Khashoggi and beg OPEC.
No, you would think we'd produce it here because we have hundreds and hundreds of years worth of energy self-sufficiency and independence here.
While we're simultaneously looking for cheaper, cleaner energy, I'm an all-the-above guy, Bill.
You give me cheaper, cleaner energy, I'll take it.
I promise you.
Well, you can do both.
I mean, you can be a robust energy producer at the same time, develop clean energy for the future.
Did you ever get, I haven't been able to get this.
Did you ever get an explanation from the Biden administration on why they sold American oil reserve barrels to China?
Well, no, we never got an answer.
We tried, Bill.
I didn't get an answer on that.
Did you?
I didn't answer either.
How dare they?
5 million barrels.
How dare they?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But now, I have a theory.
I think the reason that the Nord Stream 2 waiver was granted Putin while we were simultaneously shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline.
And I think the reason that Joe Biden is lifting tariffs on China, I think the reason that Joe Biden gave 5 million barrels of oil to China from our strategic petroleum reserves, of which we really need them desperately now, is because I believe the Biden family is compromised by Russia and by China and by Ukraine and by other countries because of Hunter Biden.
Am I wrong?
I don't know.
I mean, when you say compromise, I mean, obviously Hunter Biden did business with China and Joe Biden helped them.
Well, Libya had a full dossier and they knew all about Hunter's drug use and proclivities towards women of the night.
And the first thing that a Republican House is going to do in January when it takes over is launch an investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden.
You know that's going to happen.
Bill O'Reilly, we've got to let you go.
Bill's book's still number one on the New York Times list, number one bestseller, killing the killers.
AllthingsO'Reilly at billo'reilly.com.
Mr. O'Reilly, sir, by the way, you may want to get this mantis system that I'm about to tell my audience about.
If you want it, I'll give it to you for free because I know you don't want to pay for it, okay?
That's a very nice offer, Hannity.
Go.
On the Sean Hannity Show, a place where free speech and the First Amendment are still alive and well.
Get your dose of independence and liberty every weekday right here with Sean.
All right, 25 down to the top of the hour, 800-941 Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
Now, David Axelrod, he's not a dumb guy.
He's pretty smart, and he's been pretty right on and he's been delicate, but he's been right on about Joe Biden.
During the campaign, you might recall: look, if he doesn't have the strength and stamina to get out there and press the flesh and run a campaign, then he shouldn't be running.
And he's been critical all along the way on very specific moments when he's pretty much been just telling the truth about Biden and stating the obvious about Biden.
But he's one of a few that have been willing to do it.
And now he pointed out just yesterday that 75% of Democrats not wanting Biden to run again is a big problem.
Listen, three-quarters of Democrats don't want the incumbent president to run again.
How worried should Biden be right now about that?
Well, I mean, obviously, this is a very unhappy bit of data for him, and I'm sure it is concerning.
But we should point out that he's got two and a half years before the next election or a little less than two and a half years.
Oh, okay.
Anyway, let's get to our phones here.
Let's say hi to big time AJ Houston, Texas.
What's going on, baby?
How are you, big time?
Big time, Sean Hannity.
Hey, you know what?
Tell me something.
What is wrong with this country?
What is wrong with the nasty liberals, black and white, wanting to tear our country up the way they're doing right now?
And they just hit us again with another 3.2 or something like that, I think.
The numbers.
I mean, Sean, and then you know I'm a ramble.
I got to ramble right quick.
And then what the Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas don't want him to teach at the school no more.
They've signed a petition Sean to stop him from teaching because he don't want to kill babies.
What's wrong with these people, Sean?
Have they lost their minds?
It is.
Look what the Fed did today: 75 basis points, another three-quarter of a point interest rate hike.
All of this is now going to impact the economy and create more pain.
But according to Pete Buddha, Judge, the more pain, the more benefit.
Okay, great.
But, you know, we've got a problem, big time, and that is, and we better fix it.
All these problems we are experiencing can be resolved.
And the only way to resolve it is to beat the climate alarmist religious cult.
And right now, Biden's in charge, and we talk about other people that might replace him.
The problem Democrats have is there's not a single person, not a name I can mention, that won't be implementing the same dumb, stupid, idiotic, woke policies that fail.
All of them are rooted in New Green Deal radical socialism.
That's what the New Green Deal is about.
All of it is rooted in, you know, as they keep talking about, you know, as we make the transition or wait transition to what, big time?
What are we transitioning to when energy is the lifeblood of the world's economy?
Sean, what happens?
Okay, they need to ask this question, the Republicans.
You know, what happens if a big storm wipes out our energy grid?
What happens?
You can't do nothing with electric cars if we don't have no electricity.
If the polls are all knocked down, what are you going to do?
What are you going to do?
And then you're in Houston.
What if one of those refineries gets hit in Houston?
Houston's been known to take on a hurricane or two, if my memory serves me right, big time.
Okay, what happens if one of those refineries goes down?
What are we going to do then with gas prices at record highs?
And, oh, well, we have a temporary reprieve because they put a band-aid on the price of a gallon of gasoline by releasing some of these strategic petroleum oil reserves.
That's a band-aid, big time.
They did it once before.
And as soon as they stopped releasing a million barrels a day, guess what?
Gas prices went right back up again, which is going to happen once again.
And he did it again.
He just gave them another five, what, five million, what, five million, some barrels, something like that of oil.
They just did it again.
But rec quick, Sean, the Republicans better get off their bazakis and come on with it because this 2022 election is the United States of America right there.
And some of these, they need to ask these Democrats: okay, do you believe a man is a man and a woman is a woman?
And ask them, Democrats, and let them tell it.
Let them tell it what God did to make this country what it is.
I mean, they act like they scared that it won't fight and then they want to bash Donald Trump.
I mean, come on.
I've been, oh, 2024 can come fast, but we got to get past 2022.
And boy, Sean, keep the good work up.
God bless you, sir.
And dagnetic.
We're going to do it.
We're going to do it.
God bless you, big time.
We got to do it.
We don't have any choice here.
Anyway, appreciate it, my friend.
God bless you.
Danny is in Texas also.
What's up, Danny?
How are you?
The free state of Texas.
I'm great, Sean.
Great to talk to you.
Kind of a question at you is that your statement about green energy, Pete, talking about, you know, paint at the pump is going to benefit those that can access EVs.
You know, and he's over there begging.
I think that was Representative Hermenez that he was talking to that posed that question.
And less than 15% of the country can afford EVs, you know, or American drivers.
And it costs on average, we've done a lot of research into this.
It costs on average about $20,000 more than a combustion engine, a regular car that you're going to buy.
Then you got, you know, you have a lot of mining involved for the production of that battery, and that would be nickel and cobalt and manganese and other minerals that are taken from Mother Earth with big heavy equipment that uses diesel fuel.
And then it's charged.
Remember, only 12% of our energy comes from, quote, renewables.
Then it's charged, in most cases, with oil, gas, or coal.
So you're not really saving on the environment by going to electric vehicles the way they would have you believe.
So, you know, it's all smoke and mirrors.
And again, what is it really all about?
Well, I'm that average American right now that, you know, I'm not going out to eat.
I'm not going on vacation because every dollar I have goes in my tank.
When's that going to affect, or when is it going to show up in the jobs market?
The people that start losing their jobs because people like me that aren't out spending that money keeping them in a job.
You know, that's what I'm afraid of.
Listen, Pothole Pete, Buddha judge, you know, his great experience being the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, not even particularly loved by the people of South Bend, doesn't know a thing.
And if he says one more time that we have to buy an electric vehicle and that this pain is good, it's beneficial.
It's only a short clip.
Let me play it just to remind people.
The more pain we are all experiencing from the high price of gas, the more benefit there is for those who can access electric vehicles.
That's why we're hoping you and your colleagues might reconsider opposing the reduction of EV upfront prices with tax credits.
He said it.
What was this guy talking about?
Anyway, give you the last word, Danny.
Well, you know, and then one other thing that is, I think, something a little more sinister going on than me being down in South Texas.
I'm watching all our used cars flowing by the thousands.
I'm here in the corridor and going into Mexico.
So why are all our used cars leaving the United States?
So, you know, what are these other people that can't afford these new cars and EVs?
What are they going to buy?
By the way, that's the majority of people.
Now, remember, if you're looking for a new car today, you're paying above MSRP.
You know, if you're buying a used car, I brought this out yesterday.
You're paying an average of $10,000 more than you would have paid before Joe Biden became president and all this inflation happened.
So people are hanging on to their older cars longer, which is why I recommend Car Shield, because if you're out on the road and your car breaks down, number one, you get roadside assistance for your family.
Number two, they cover all these expensive repairs.
It's not cheap to fix your car.
So, I mean, but all of this now, most Americans are suffering needlessly.
And they keep saying, well, we're going to continue down this path until we become energy independent with renewable energies.
Now, they can't get, nobody's ever asked the question: why is it okay to import oil rather than produce it domestically?
We do it faster, we do it cheaper, and we do it cleaner.
Why wouldn't we do it here while we're, quote, transitioning?
Nobody can answer that question.
It defies all logic and all common sense.
And, Danny, that means people like you and your family and your friends and everybody in this country suffers needlessly.
Sick.
And hopefully, people will remember this in November.
Good call, Danny.
Appreciate it.
All right, quick break.
We'll come back.
We'll continue more of your phone calls.
800-941-SHAWN as we roll along straight ahead.
Back to our busy phones.
We go to Colorado.
Kevin is next.
Kevin, you're on the Sean Hannity Show.
Glad you called, sir.
Hey, Sean, thank you for taking my call.
I listen to you all the time and appreciate what you do for this country.
Thank you.
We're trying every day, I promise.
Yeah, you know, I'm a cattle rancher out here in Northeast Colorado, just a small one, but I raise beef to help feed America's people.
Anyway, how many heads of cattle, if you don't mind me asking?
And how many acres you got?
I got a little over 3,000 acres, and I run about 150 mama cows.
Wow.
And how many days when I'm under the gun, I wish I was you?
I really do.
Well, I enjoy it.
I love it.
And, you know, I'm my own boss.
I love that.
But this economy is getting so bad now since Biden took office.
And I could see it coming even when the election was going on, what he was wanting to do and everything, and shutting the oil down, shutting everything down.
You know, I'm paying double for everything.
It's getting bad enough.
Now, I'm going to have to probably get a second job just to make sure that I have enough money coming in to pay for the fuel, the feed, the repairs, and the vet expense and stuff.
I mean, I don't know.
I'm sure.
I want to be clear.
So you can't even make a living the way you've been making a living because of the high cost of feed.
In the case of farmers, the high cost of fertilizer and the high cost of seeds and the high cost, if you could even get spare parts to repair your equipment.
So now you can't run a profitable cattle ranch the way you used to.
Is that a fair statement?
That is a very fair statement.
And it's sad to see because farmers and ranchers and the energy is the lifeblood of this country.
And when I sit there and hear that we're importing all this oil and I live in an area where there's gas exploration or there should be exploration because it's been proven with seismograph and everything that we have a very large oil deposit where I live.
But because of our infinite governor in Colorado shutting everything down because of environmental and this climate extreme people, they're not even drilling anymore.
And we could have plenty of oil and stuff.
And these Democratic-run states are killing this country and killing the farmer and rancher.
And that's what I wanted to talk about: just that, you know, even as a small rancher, it is getting tough where I can't even make a living without having to get a second job.
You know, I'm telling you, this breaks my heart.
This should not be.
This was all preventable.
This is the frustrating part of all that.
And by the way, if you have oil on your property and enough of it that it would be worthwhile to extract it, you'd think we'd take it from your property because we can do it in a clean way.
We can do it in an environmentally friendly way.
We've proven that.
We achieved energy independence, and we had the largest reduction of and the cleanest air of any industrialized country under Donald Trump.
We can do all that.
We know how to do all of that.
Yep, that's correct.
But let me tell you, Colorado may be a sleeper for the Senate.
I know we haven't paid a lot of attention yet, but we're going to start honing in on Washington State and Colorado as possible Senate pickups.
But we've got trouble in Georgia.
They're really hammering Herschel Walker.
So we got to, you know, we got to try and help Herschel out as much as we can.
They're doing the same thing to JD Vance in Ohio.
They're attacking Ron Johnson in Wisconsin.
They stumped $44 million on his head.
They're trying to demonize Dr. Oz every single day, even though the candidate that he's running against has yet to be seen or heard from, I think, one time since he had a stroke.
And it's just the media is doing all the dirty work for the Democrats.
It's so corrupt.
The whole system is so corrupt.
I'm really sorry.
And by the way, thank you for what you do.
You feed America.
Farmers feed America.
Ranchers feed America.
By the way, and I'm a paleo guy.
I eat meat all the time.
That's what I eat.
Well, that's good.
And thank you again, Sean, and God bless you.
God bless you, man.
Keep up.
I hope you can keep doing what you're doing.
I really mean that.
So sad.
