So Down, verdict with Ted Cruz now, wherever you get your podcasts.
And day 323, since your President Joey told uh our fellow Americans in Afghanistan, our green card holders in Afghanistan, uh our Afghan allies in Afghanistan, uh, that he would never abandon them.
And he did. | |
Thirteen days later. | |
310 days. | |
But he's turned the page, doesn't mention it ever since.
Anyway, hope you had a great weekend.
Uh 800 941 Sean. | |
Uh, we're heading into the hazy, hot, humid Hannity days of summer, uh, which is good uh as long as everybody rests up on your weekends and do your little barbecues and have your friends and family over, have a great time and uh and prepare for the November midterm elections, because this now matters more than ever.
I am I am seeing something that I just never thought I'd see.
You know, remember the whole inflation is transitory.
We're not really headed for a recession.
There's nothing else we can do on gas prices.
All these narratives, all these talking points that are being pushed by the Biden administration and their their you know uh extended press office, the media mob.
It's it's it's ridiculous.
You know, I see Janet Yellen on with uh Georgie Stephanopoulos.
I don't think a recession is inevitable.
Uh is it is it just a coincidence that Joe Biden said nothing is inevitable about a recession?
No, it's all talking point BS.
And the media mob just regurgitates it after them.
Yelling saying she doesn't see a drop-off in consumer spending, but does she not read the numbers?
Because we gave them to you all last week.
That's not the cause of inflation.
Really? | |
Then what is the cause of inflation that you said would be transitory?
You know, and then of course, getting into the blame game.
Let's blame the meat companies.
Let's blame the poultry companies, let's blame rich people.
Let's blame uh Vladimir Putin.
Let's blame Donald Trump.
Let's blame Fox News, let's blame Sean Hannity.
Let's blame everybody but themselves and their policies.
But because that's what they're doing.
You know, it's the cause of high gas prices, cause of inflation.
I have put up on the screen on Hannity, the TV show again and again and again.
No, gas prices were exploding long before Vladimir uh ever started even putting troops on the border of eastern Ukraine.
So they're just lying. | |
Same with inflation. | |
Went through the roof. | |
Joe becomes president, it was 1.4%.
Now it's for record 8.6%, the highest inflation in 41 years.
Americans now on the average paying over five dollars a gallon for gasoline.
Stop blaming everybody but their policies.
They reduced artificially the supply of oil in the in the country.
You know, stop blaming everybody.
Yelling expecting inflation to come down in coming months.
How many coming months?
A hundred coming months?
How many months? | |
Because every economist out there sees it as an unmitigated disaster.
You know, just like we hear from you know the rest of the administration, starting with Joe himself and Pete Bootejudge.
You know, you bet you everybody ought to get used to high gas prices until we get uh energy independent from renewable sources of energy.
What are they? | |
Can somebody ask that question and maybe get an answer from the genius, you know, former mayor of South Bend with the wealth of experience that that he has.
Good grief. | |
You know, Jennifer Grantholm, same same thing.
And inflation is a global problem.
Well, that's that we debunked Joe Biden's lie last week when he said, Well, our inflation is not as bad as other countries.
I'm like, uh, yeah, it's worse.
Far worse. | |
You were lying to Jimmy Kimmel.
Of course, not being called out on it.
Or Grand Home pressed on why Biden hasn't cut the gas tax.
Uh, how many of you don't know that with every gallon of gasoline, you pay 18.3 cents to the federal government.
Why are we paying 18.3 cents to the federal government on top of all the other taxes we pay?
The 40% income tax we pay.
You know, then the capital gains tax.
If you invest that money, make a profit, and they take another bite at the apple.
And then God forbid you die with some money left over, then they're going to take half of it even again.
It's like it's an insanity.
And then we we get lectured about being the greedy wealthy people in this country.
If you have if wealth, being wealthy is defined by having anything.
Because they'll take pretty much anything you got, the gold out of your teeth, I guess, in the end of the day, if they need it.
Anyway, Grant home, uh, you know, it's gonna be a tough summer for high gas.
Why? | |
It doesn't need to be. | |
That is the whole point.
And of course, we had Joey falling off his bike this weekend.
We've got the audio. | |
We'll show you the video.
Listen to this. | |
Hey, Dr. Brotis, how was that?
Coming. | |
Oh my god. | |
Then Joey explaining how he fell off his bike.
Yeah, I'm feeling great.
What happened was you guys ride bikes well, they have some of them have this thing you put your toe back up.
I was getting off the bike, it got stuck on the right side.
No. | |
Unbelievable. | |
Um, you know, and then Biden going on with the same talk.
There's nothing inevitable about recession.
What are you talking about?
Joe Biden, for example, he's now got this trip plan with Saudi Arabia, the country called the Pariah Nation, and blaming the Crown Prince, MBS, for the killing of reporter Jamal Khashoggi.
But he's now, but we're not going to beg them in any way, in any point for them to increase the output of energy.
Yes, he is. | |
That's exactly what he's going there for.
Because OPEC, who he'd been begging and banking, they kept saying no to his request to increase output.
You know how dumb they must think we are, him especially, because it's his policies and his party's policies, this this climate alarmist religious cultism that is destroying the lives of the poor, the middle class, people on fixed income.
It's hurting every single American, regardless of what your income may or may not be.
And then oh, there's nothing inevitable about a recession.
And he's not planning. | |
Why didn't he plan to meet with oil companies that he writes these nasty letters to, and then when they write them back that he doesn't want to meet with them face to face?
Mike Pompeo had a good line.
Why don't you go to Midland, Texas?
Why don't you go to Pennsylvania for gas?
Why don't you go to North Dakota and the Balkan uh reserves that we have there?
Why don't you go to Oklahoma, where they actually have energy and Ohio for gas and and Pennsylvania for gas.
Why don't you do those things?
Lawrence Summers, Obama's economic advisor, said a whole range of indicators are pointing to a recession.
He's not wrong. | |
James Clyburn saying if Biden decides not to run, I'll support Kamala Harris.
God help us. | |
The giggling vice president that has as bad at word salads as Joe Biden himself.
I mean, we see and we feel everything that's going on.
And what really pissed me off this weekend is every administration official's lying.
And the big lie now is we, and of course, all they want to talk about is January 6th.
That's it. | |
January 6th. | |
Not the 574 riots in the summer of 2020.
No. | |
Just January 6th. | |
Again and again. | |
We had an impeachment over this post-presidency impeachment.
Anyway, um, Biden administration can't do anything about gas prices.
This is their new talking point.
The idea we're going to be able to, you know, click a switch, bring down the cost of gasoline is not likely in their terms.
With respect to energy, the uh administration has done everything that they can to bring down energy costs.
Unfortunately, that is the brutal reality.
The reality is uh that there isn't very much more to be done.
They're lying. | |
They are the ones whose policies abandon energy independence, reduce the world supply of oil and energy, which simple economics teaches us supply and demand dictating price, that raised the cost of it.
And what's so screwed up, I mean, I can't make heads or tails out of this, is they were importing oil last year from Russia and Iran, and nobody knew about the Iranian oil.
That had not happened since what, 1992, and they took in a million barrels of oil, 678 million from making Putin rich again.
And now they're negotiating with the Iranians, the Venezuelans, and Joe is going to kiss the ass of the crown prince uh that is the head of Saudi Arabia, the nation he called a pariah nation, the crown, the very crown prince he said was responsible for Jamal Shikoshogi's death.
Does that make any sense to you sending emissaries over to Venezuela?
We're going to make Iran rich, we're going to make Russia rich, we're going to make the OPEC nations rich, we'll make the Saudis rich, we'll make the Venezuelans rich.
Well, that's really rich.
No pun intended. | |
Well, actually, a pun intended.
By the way, things are so bad, Germany is firing up again their old uh coal uh plants that they had shut down and mothballed.
Can you believe it? | |
Germany's now restarting their coal-fired power plants.
They're going to restart them, according to the Wall Street Journal, offer incentives for companies to curb national natural gas consumption.
If we were smart, we have over 200 plus years of supply of natural gas.
Can you imagine how good it would be to bankrupt and beat Putin financially, bury them, and also supply our allies with all their energy needs, and we'll get rich in the process.
American workers will get rich in the process, and we have supplies that last, known supplies that are over 200 years.
Why wouldn't we do that?
Joe, rather, he would rather Putin make the money.
Remember, he gave the approval for the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
Anyway, so now he's Putin's doing this.
And why are they waiting to lift the pressure on the cost of a gallon of gasoline instead of the band-aid?
Oh, I'm going to release uh a million barrels a day from uh of the strategic petroleum reserves.
Well, why don't you just build the Keystone Exile pipeline?
Because if you build that, we can get 900,000 barrels of Canadian oil daily.
So stupid. | |
By the way, the U.S., as I've been predicting, business insider pointed out, uh brownouts, power failures because of Joe's war on domestic energy and his adherence to his religious climate alarmist cult.
We don't even summer hasn't even officially started yet.
But anyway, extreme heat, summer season calling into question that the strength of our electrical and power grids across the country as warnings about brownouts and requests to conserve power continue to rise.
Reuters now reporting that several states, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Mississippi, would experience a rise in the heat index in June.
States like Texas, this would mean a surge in power usage that's uncharacteristic for early months.
In Cleveland, residents have complained of brownouts that occurred when electricity demand outweighed the power being produced in June.
Cleveland Public Power, an organization that provides energy to Ohio, attributes the outages to hot weather conditions.
Oh, did you think it was going to be cool this summer?
Russia now, you know, Germany is restarting their coal-fired coal-fired power plants.
See, Germany made the mistake we're now making.
Most of Europe made the mistake we're now making.
That is, they gave in To their environmental climate alarmist religious cultists, and they shut down their their dependence, their independence on energy, and then turn to Russia.
And we now see that what happens.
I said this for years. | |
What if what if Putin never decides to turn off the spigot?
That's how I used to say it.
New York Fed says Biden recession not likely to end before 2024.
The Atlanta Fed predicting 0.0% growth.
Told you on Friday. | |
Majority of Americans now believe the economy is already in a recession.
Hate to tell you. | |
Hey there. | |
I'm Mary Catherine Hamm.
And I'm Carol Markowitz.
We've been in political media for a long time.
Long enough to know that it's gotten, well, a little insane.
That's why we started normally a podcast for people who are over the hysteria and just want clarity.
We talk about the issues that actually matter to the country without panic, without yelling, and with a healthy dose of humor.
We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we do take the truth seriously.
So if you're into common sense, sanity, and some occasional SAS.
You're our kind of people.
Catch new episodes of Normally every Tuesday and Thursday on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen.
I'm Ben Ferguson. | |
And I'm Ted Cruz. | |
Three times a week, we do our podcast, Verdict with Ted Cruz.
Nationwide, we have millions of listeners.

And we cover the stories that you're not getting anywhere else.
We arm you with the facts to be able to know and advocate for the truth with your friends and family.
So Dell a verdict with Ted Cruz now, wherever you get your podcasts.
At 25 to the top of the hour.
You know, I see Colleen in Indiana on my call screener here.
She has a really good question.
Colleen, how are you? | |
Glad you called. | |
Hey, good to hear from you.
What's going on? | |
Glad you called. | |
Um I just had an opinion, I or your opinion.
I'd like to know if we could get all of these Democrats or a lot of them moved out of the Congress and the House of Representatives.
Do you think we would be able to get everything overturned before the next uh presidential election?
No. | |
It's a two-step process.
Well, the problem is, I mean, let's say it but it's an important first step.
Because if we're gonna have any chance, um, we have opportunities now to get back the House and the Senate, but it will take a Republican president to implement those policies.
Now, Republicans will be able to plug up the hole in the boat and stop, you know, the boat from taking on water and and allowing the climate alarmist to sink the ship, which if they stay in power, could you imagine, God forbid, Democrats take over the Senate?
Um, they get rid of the legislative filibuster, uh, they want to get rid of the electoral college, they want to pack the courts, they want DC statehood, all that that's how important that uh midterm is.
But to actually undo the damage is too only two ways that can happen.
They a reverse course, and that would mean you have a bunch of religious cultists that are brainwashed and indoctrinated, um, somehow being deprogrammed, and that's not gonna happen.
Joe Biden doesn't have the strength.
I I don't think he knows today's Monday, so he's not gonna reverse his policies.
Remember, he ran on the whole idea of getting rid of uh of fossil fuels.
I'm gonna eliminate it.
I'm gonna eliminate it.
So you know, if you look, if you look at uh I like to read the Wall Street Journal because they have smart people reporting on it.
For example, I told you on Friday, the Wall Street Journal reported the Atlanta Fed is predict projecting for this quarter zero point zero percent growth.
Now we contracted and had minus one point five percent growth.
A recession by definition is two quarters of negative growth.
So we're on the verge of that.
Today, the uh Wall Street Journal reports about the New York Federal Reserve, their forecasting that the Biden recession is not gonna end before the beginning of 2024, which would bring it right to the doorstep of the next presidential election, and they think that our economy is likely on a path to shrink this year and next year.
Um again, now inflation's not going to slow down, and now we're gonna have all the job losses.
What do you think happens to home building uh when you raise interest rates so much dramatically higher?
For example, if your interest rate was three percent, three point five percent, three point seven five percent, okay, you're gonna pay this much amount of interest, so you add that to your principal and you get a monthly payment.
Maybe the monthly payment is like two grand.
Well, now you go up two, three points in interest rates, which is now where we find ourselves.
Well, now you're paying three grand for the same house.
So what's going to happen?
New home construction will stop.
Sale of existing homes will stop dead in its track tracks.
You know, there'll be certain cities that do much better than others.
States that'll do better than others, in large part because people are moving to those states.
If you're leaving California for Texas, Texas will not be as impacted as greatly as California will be.
New York will be. | |
Florida won't be as impacted as badly.
Tennessee, a lot of people are moving to Tennessee.
That's not going to be as impacted won't be impacted as badly.
Same with the Carolinas.
A lot of people moving there.
So you're going to see, but but for the vast majority of states, you got a newsweek is even putting out.
Newsweek ran a jarring headline over the weekend.
The economy's collapsing.
A majority of Americans believe they're not wrong.
IBD tip economic optimism index they published, found that 53% of Americans think the economy has gone into a recession.
I agree with them. | |
25% say they're unsure.
Only 20% believe the country's not.
We're all feeling the impact of all of this.
And you know, it's it's everything you buy in every store you go to.
It's every time you fill up your gas tank.
And so when new home construction stops, what's going to happen?
We're going to lose jobs.
What's going to I see that a rapid decline there?
Real estate companies are already firing agents.
If you're not a top agent, you're going to be out the door pretty quick.
Yeah. | |
Stocks. | |
That's just it. | |
Yeah. | |
Look at your stock more.
Look at your 401k. | |
Stock market last week.
Where's the market today?
I didn't look. | |
Anyway, let me check for you, boss.
It's the we had the biggest single loss.
Um, you know, last week since 2020.
We've we've now going under 30,000 was a big moment.
Down 38 at 29. | |
It's down 38. | |
So it's still we're still headed in a down direction.
Now you have rich Hollywood actors like this idiot Dean Norris from Breaking Bad.
I don't know if you've watched any of that series.
It's dark and ugly, and I can't stand it.
Anyway, says Americans should shut the boot up about gas prices if they love capitalism so much.
Oh my. | |
Yeah. | |
It's crazy. | |
It's just crazy out here.
Yeah. | |
All right. | |
Well, I appreciate it, Colleen.
Hang in there. | |
You know, now we're getting, you know, it's impacting every aspect of our economy.
Try and get a flight. | |
19,000 flights have been canceled or delayed since Thursday.
Thursday. | |
4200 U.S. flights delayed.
900 canceled on Sunday alone, as Americans mark Father's Day amid the airline staffing shortages because of the higher price now that we're paying for jet fuel.
Well, that gets passed on to the consumers.
And Pete Bootujudge, genius, you know, mayor from South Bend is weighing on penalizing airlines if these flight disruptions continue because apparently his own flight got canceled on Friday, so he's pissed off.
Sorry, sorry to inconvenience you, Pete.
You know, you think the economy's bad now?
Economists now raise the probability of recession within the next 12 months.
Janet Yellen and Joe Biden are all out there saying, no, it's not inevitable.
No, it's it's Putin's fault.
It's Trump's fault. | |
Oh, it's it's rich people's fault.
Oh, it's the meat industry's fault.
Um how many people can you blame before you take responsibility?
Now there's not a single thing we can do.
That's their other talking point.
Not a single thing. | |
What do you mean? | |
How about we go back to being energy independent?
You know, the graph, you know, we've shown this graph over and over again.
Biden's claim inflation is higher than every other major industrial country.
I actually know, we're the highest.
UK, lower inflation. | |
Germany, Canada, Italy, France, Japan, China.
Much lower inflation. | |
As a matter of fact, in China and Japan, it's about 2.2%.
Between the two of them on average, if you look at them.
You know, it's um it's somebody, even Bill Maher, apparently Bill Marr wants to come on the show.
Did you read that? | |
He's dying to come on my show or Tucker Shaw.
I have no interest in talking to Bill Maher.
Why not? | |
Because he doesn't want to have a discussion.
He wants to come in the state.
Oh, I think that would be a wonderful discussion.
I've had him on, I've been, we've had discussions in the past.
It's always a wonderful.
He's an equal opportunity hater.
He's the perfect kind of person to talk to right now.
Well, he did rip Biden for getting rid of fossil fuels without a replacement.
Yes, you see, he actually he and Hillary are both doing something that I find pretty interesting.
If you if you're looking at the comments that Hillary Clinton has made recently, um, and she is telling, let me see, I have it in let me see if I have it here.
Is that my pile of stuff as Russia used to always say?
I know what she's saying.
Oh, here it is. | |
I got my Hillary pile. | |
So here it is. | |
So she's warning Democrats of the risk that is so frightening that if they lose the midterms, um, and they will face defeat if they keep taking on extreme positions.
That's what Bill Mars pretty much been saying.
He's not saying it because he loves conservatives.
He's saying it is because he wants the Democrats of old used to lie and hide who they really are.
What makes this group of Democrats, the modern new Green Deal Democratic Party different, is Democrats were always a socialist party, but they tried to hide it because they knew that electorally it'd be a disaster.
So anyway, she took the f pessimistic news.
She says, I can't allow the lunch to end without questioning the direction of her party.
So anyway, it goes on to talk about this interview with the Financial Times and this guy Edward Luce.
Um, and anyway, um, and she was asked, what sense does it make she said to depict J.K. Rowling as a fascist?
And Clinton shares the premise of we're standing on the precipice of losing our democracy and everything that everybody else cares about, then goes out the window.
Look, the most important thing is to win the next election.
The alternative is so frightening that whatever does not help should not be uh uh help you win should not be a priority.
So, for example, she goes further suggesting trans the transgender debate should not be a priority for Democrats.
So she's doing what old Democrats used to do.
She's signaling to them, yeah, we all believe this, but let's not say it out loud.
And she ruled out another presidential run on the one hand.
She shut down any speculation that she would run, calling it out of the question.
On the other hand, Radar Online says that Hillary is privately telling Democratic power brokers, I'm ready if you draft me.
She doesn't want to go through the pain of losing, but she would probably take the nomination if they gave it to her, handed it to her, which I don't think is going to happen.
I think they're dreaming.
Um internally, all of this chaos has resulted in the Biden White House.
You know, first it was Kamala Harris's office.
Now the pace of administration resignations is picked up dramatically.
A lot of finger pointing going around the White House now.
The Hill reporting that the White House facing this slew of departures, several top officials announcing at once, they're moving the hell out.
They don't want any part of this.
It doesn't look good, said one Democratic strategist.
The perception from the outside is it's not the place you want to be.
A lot of finger pointing going on right now.
It doesn't look like it's uh humming the way it should be, you think?
Given the complex challenges the administration is facing, these departures are coming at an inopportune time, one strategist said.
One senior administration official acknowledging that many aides are tapped out.
It's been a few long years.
The burnout is real. | |
I mean, by the way, they need to toughen up a little bit.
How many, how many of these, you know, how long have we been doing this?
Biden explains he's fine falling down to the ground.
Not injured after the bite.
It was another poll that came out.
Had him at 32% approval rating.
That's the third poll has him at 32%.
It's unreal. | |
Um Democrats expect Joe is going to run in 2024.
The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board pointed out the past time around our office in 2021.
You are, they were guessing inside internally at the Wall Street Journal when Democrats would begin to point out that Biden was too old for the job.
The consensus was after the midterms.
But congrats to our colleague.
He knows who he is, who figured out it would be sometime early this year.
And that person won the office pool because the drive to shove Biden out the door has already begun.
Starting with the New York Times, and their stories is he too old to run.
But you know, you see it now, it's all coordinated.
Then you get fake news CNN.
You get Van Jones and Don Lemon now acknowledging that which we told them about during the campaign in 2020.
Only two and a half years late.
And that is Joe is a cognitive mess, weak and frail, not up to the job.
I guess he's strong enough to make his meeting with the Crown Prince.
White House says Biden's meeting with Saudi officials next month will include the Crown Prince.
Oh. | |
The pariah nation of Saudi Arabia.
There was one interesting point that I saw at Red State.
They wrote up a column that was interesting to me.
Talking about, you know, so they quote these CNN guys.
Uh, you know, say, oh, I I I had the same thing happen to me.
I fell off my bike the same way.
Then they have another guy.
He got his foot stuck in the pedal.
Lots of lots of people who ride bikes regularly.
If that have had that happen to them.
Okay. | |
But then you compare it to what they said.
Now, remember when Donald Trump was going down the West Point ramp.
Now, he was wearing dress shoes.
I know this because I've worn dress shoes when it snows in New York City.
And by the way, you have to take little baby steps unless you're going to go flying on your ass and throw your back out.
It's just how it is. | |
So it's literally, there's no railing.
