Time Text
This is an iHeart Podcast.
Vehicles can help break our reliance on fossil fuel.
Which means that until we achieve a form of energy independence that is based on clean energy created here at home, American citizens will still be vulnerable to wild price hikes like we're seeing right now.
The workforce is getting older.
Not that I am, but they are.
I used to drive a truck.
It's a long story anyway.
Freedom is back in style.
The revolution.
We're coming, don't you shout?
The new Sean Henry Show.
More behind the scenes information on breaking news and more bold, inspired solutions for America.
This is a special edition of the Sean Hannity Show.
America Trapped Behind Enemy Lines.
Day number 236.
Coming up next, our final news roundup and information overload hour.
All right, news roundup, information overload hour, Sean Hannity Show, 800-941.
Sean, if you want to be a part of the program, you know, it's, I give a lot of credit because it takes a lot of guts.
And we've been one of the few shows willing to just show the most graphic images of the reality of Putin's invasion of a sovereign country, Ukraine.
The New York Post has very, very graphic pictures of dead civilians in mass graves.
I mean, it just breaks your heart.
It is brutal footage.
We've now gotten some of the images out of Mariupol and Butcha and some of these other places where it has just been a mass slaughter of innocent men, women, and children.
We have this outgunned Ukrainian tank taking on an entire Russian armored column and kicking the crap out of them.
It's almost mathematically impossible.
It was a Ukrainian T-64 tank and well-positioned.
And anyway, that tank executed an ambush on this Russian column, hiding itself in a position, firing at an angle through a narrow window.
And anyway, the Russian vehicles, you know, literally took out one after another after another after another.
And a platoon group of Russian soldiers, you know, had to dismount from their own vehicles, move down the road on foot.
And the Ukrainian fire was enough to coerce them out.
And drone footage captured this artillery strike against the Russians and the ambush.
And they actually, you know, outmanned, outnumbered one again.
It's just been unbelievably incredible.
But the West, NATO, Western Europe, they've got to do a better job, in my opinion, of stepping up and doing two things.
Providing the weaponry so Ukraine can win the war.
We've detailed what weaponry is needed.
And number two, they've got to find alternative sources of gas and oil so that they can cut Putin off once and for all.
And finally, now, the country that I think has stepped up the most, that has gotten the least amount of credit is Poland.
They've taken in more refugees.
They've provided more munitions.
They even offered the 28 MiGs, and Joe Biden vetoed that for what reason, I don't know.
Anyway, listen to the president of Poland.
The German finance minister said today at this point, energy sanctions would cause too much harm to Germany's economy.
This is a broader problem to us, the Poles, because right from the start, we were fighting against joint investments by Russia and Germany.
Investments in Nord Stream 1, Nord Stream 2.
We were opposed to both of those pipelines because to us, they were not so much of economic nature, but they were obviously political projects.
Their goal was to circumvent the territory of Poland, to bypass the Baltic countries, to bypass Ukraine, so that Russia could apply gas blackmail against these countries in Central Europe, as a deed against Ukraine at the beginning of the 21st century.
So we protested against that all the time.
Sounds like you're saying, I told you so, about all of the dependence that Germany, in particular, built on Russian energy.
The word blackmail, you believe that Russia is blackmailing Germany right now?
I think that, as a matter of fact, Russia is blackmailing not only Germany.
Right now, Russia is blackmailing, in fact, the entire Europe.
All right.
Pretty amazing.
Anyway, joining us now is a friend of the program, Congressman Mike Walls, Florida 6th District, and former Green Beret.
He came out with a new book, which I just got a hold of.
Can't wait to read.
It's called Dawn of the Brave.
He knows a thing or two about insurgency battles, conflicts, and war, and he's been supporting and backing the national Ukrainian resistance, this insurgency that's been going on very successfully.
Congressman, good to have you back.
Congrats on your book.
And I will tell you, I think that Ukraine is way overperformed in ways that I didn't think were possible.
You know, it's interesting, Sean.
We just had the Secretary of Defense and General Milley before the Armed Services Committee, and the administration's kind of patting themselves on the back in a number of ways, but one of which is from an Intel standpoint.
And look, we have to give them credit.
The intelligence community does counting of tanks, planes, and ships very well with our space assets and other assets.
That's what they do well.
But here's where they miss, and they missed big time, and that's in capabilities.
And what I mean by that, Sean, is morale, training, logistics, operations, maintenance.
Those pieces, the will to fight and the ability to actually fight the equipment, they miss by a mile when it comes to the Russian capabilities, and they missed by even 10 miles when it comes to Ukrainian capabilities.
And that's why you have the chairman of the Joint Chiefs standing before the world saying he would fall in 36 hours.
So they missed it.
And you're right, we underestimated the Ukrainians and we way Overestimated the Russians.
But at the end of the day, Putin's back is against the wall.
This is the Russian way of war.
The only difference now in Ukraine versus what the Russians did in Syria, where they bombed 54 hospitals and in Chechnya and in Afghanistan, where they disguised landmines as toys so that kids would pick them up and to terrorize the families.
The only difference now is the entire world can see it in this modern digital age and can see the atrocities and can see the fact that they now have mobile crematoriums rolling through some of the occupied zones so that one, they can hide the mass graves and their atrocities, but two, they can hide the Russian casualties from their own people.
But I 100% agree with you.
The two key things are getting a real program and strategy in place to strangle the Russian economy.
What we're doing is wholly inefficient.
The new sanctions that Biden announced just yesterday still have carve outs for the energy sector.
And they still have the back doors with China, India, Brazil, South Africa, and others.
We need to be announcing secondary sanctions on Chinese firms that are still doing business and banking with Russian firms.
And then, yes, we're finally, belatedly, getting more sophisticated equipment into the hands of the Ukrainians.
But the NATO commander admitted to me in a hearing that we're not providing them the training to go along with it.
And my big issue stands for the US.
Well, that's right.
Joe announced that to the world when he was in Poland, which I'm sure was him leaking intelligence, which was pretty stupid, but I digress.
Well, right.
But then that's when he also intimated that we would use chemical weapons and that the 82nd Airborne would be in Ukraine soon and called for regime change.
You got the list down pretty good, and they ran back.
By the way, that was the only smart thing he said.
If he would have stuck with that, I would have said, oh, finally, Joe said something right.
Then they walked it back.
Then he said it again.
Then they walked it back again.
And then he walked back to walk back.
And when you have the commander-in-chief sending those kind of mixed messages as our allies are watching every word and our adversaries are watching every word, and we're talking nuclear brinksmanship, that is incredibly dangerous.
But my biggest beef right now, Sean, is that we don't have a strategy to help Zelensky win.
Right now, we have a strategy to help him get to a tie and get to another stalemate.
And basically, that means Putin will be able to gobble up more of Ukraine and gobble up the most lucrative parts to him where the manufacturing and the energy sectors are.
And that's in eastern Ukraine and along the Black Sea.
And if that's where this ends up over the next year, and you have Milley and Biden basically admitting it, saying this is going to be protracted out for years, settle into trench warfare, Putin's going to reconstitute.
Europe's going to relax because they're going to go back to their old energy-addicted habits.
And Putin will be back at this five, six years from now.
Not to mention the message that Chairman.
Well, then how does it end at this point that he just keeps the original regions and then some others?
Or, you know, there are also talks, the Chechnyans, they're ready to come in and reinforce what Russia is doing here.
Belarus has been threatening to bring their armies in and their military equipment in.
I don't know if that's happened yet.
I've not seen a report that it has, but certainly they're threatening it.
If that type of escalation occurs, I would imagine the Ukrainians are going to need more help in terms of weaponry than less.
No, that's absolutely right.
You'll also see the Syrians moving in.
You're seeing the Wagner group really concentrate its efforts.
That's great that Biden announced sanctions on Putin's daughters.
My question is, because Putin hides his assets amongst family members, why weren't those announced on day one?
Why weren't they announced six months ago during the year?
But does this really matter that we're confiscating the yachts of oligarchs from Russia?
I mean, I don't have a problem with it because I'm assuming it's all ill-gotten gains and there's just massive corruption around Vladimir Putin.
As long as he has billions of dollars flowing into his country with the carve-outs, as you mentioned, financially, the banks are allowed to do these energy deals.
He's taking in billions of dollars a day.
That buys him a lot of protection from his military and his closest advisors in his inner circle.
So they're less likely to push for regime change.
Well, I'm okay with rattling the cages of the oligarchs.
But my point was: why don't we have sanctions on the Wagner group, on their funding mechanism?
And some of these, again, all they're doing is shifting their assets.
The ruble is recovered.
And you have banks in Hong Kong that are happily banking.
You have the Chinese stepping in.
They see a buying opportunity in Russian minerals, mines, and oil and gas.
And see.
Well, they're getting deep discounts because they're also offering Putin support in these world bodies.
And they're also, I think, in the back of their mind saying, fine, we'll support your territorial ambitions.
And when we take Taiwan, you'll support ours.
Quote, that's right.
To your point on weapons, Sean, let's stop this false distinction between, well, these are defensive weapons and these are offensive weapons.
Let's help Zelensky go on offense.
Victory to me, winning to me, is he takes his country back, including Crimea, including Eastern Donbass.
Give him the offensive weaponry that he needs.
My fear is that Biden continues to pump the brakes.
Congress, in this case, is actually dragging him along in a positive way, but he continues to pump the brakes out of fear of Putin.
And every time he backs off, Putin sees space to go up one more rung in the escalation ladder.
And the final piece is: this is a real lesson on why we can never let Iran get a nuclear umbrella and get the bomb, because we see how we have to treat a country differently once they have a lot of people.
You and I agree completely.
We have one big problem: according to reports, Joe Biden is begging the Iranian mullahs.
He's trying to bribe them with tens of billions of dollars of monies that are sanctioned and that have been held back from them.
Apparently, as part of this deal that Russia, of all people, is negotiating on obviously on Iran's behalf would include Russia building a nuclear facility of $10 billion inside of Iran.
It would also include the U.S. now importing oil from Iran and making Iran and the mullahs rich, which means we're giving monies to the number one state sponsor of terrorism.
You don't have to be a Harvard grad to figure out that that's going to backfire and that money is going to be used for more terrorism.
Well, that money, those tens of billions in sanctions relief, much of it will come from Europe.
It's going to go to three places.
It's going to flow through Tehran out to terrorist groups.
Number two, it'll go to Moscow on a weapons buying spree.
And number three, it's going to go to their oil and gas industry.
And when Biden goes to Europe and says, you've got to shut off Russian oil, what he really means is we're going to replace it with Venezuelan and Iranian oil, not American and gas and not American gas.
All right, quick break.
More with Congressman Mike Waltz on the other side.
Then your calls, 800-941-Sean, our number, if you want to be a part of the program.
Look, I want to talk to you about something we all know is very serious.
We see what's going on in this country.
None of it is going well.
And I don't see America United as America first.
We have all this identity politics getting in the way.
Where's the common idea of justice that we're a melting pot?
The things that unite us, citizenship, for example.
You lose the idea of citizenship, but you don't have a country.
Now, there is something you can do, thanks to our friends at Hillsdale College.
That's get educated, and they'll show you the way at Hillsdale.
They have a brand new free online course on American citizenship that will help you learn about what is happening, why it's happening.
The course is taught by a friend of this program, Dr. Victor Davis Hansen.
He's going to equip you to help restore this country.
You sign up for free.
We set up a special website for you.
It's Seanforhillsdale.com.
It's simple.
Sean, S-E-A-N-F-O-R-Hillsdale.com.
You'll learn about the history of citizenship, learn about the deep state.
And you can sign up today, get this free course, Seanforhillsdale.com.
That's Sean for Hillsdale dot com.
When fake news gives you lies, Hannity supplies the truth.
John Hannity is on right now.
Congressman Mike Waltz of Florida is with us.
By the way, he did write a new book.
It's called Dawn of the Brave.
I just got my copy.
The Premier in Alberta said, had we continued with the Keystone XL pipeline, it would have been finished in eight months.
So let's assume he's correct in his timeline.
He said, if that is ever completed, we can get 900,000 additional barrels of oil from Canada a day.
Now, why wouldn't we do that?
And for our environmentalists out there that are worried about carbon emission, that means you get it out of trucks and out of trains and through a pipeline.
And you're absolutely right.
But Sean, as you well know, progressives are running that White House right now.
And that's why you're seeing these asinine politics.
Well, I don't think Joe knows that today is Thursday, if you want to know the truth, Congressman.
I just don't think he has a clue about what's going on.
And we see that on display every day.
It was pretty embarrassing when Obama showed up the other day and nobody wanted to talk to Joe.
He's wandering around the Oval Office by himself.
It was just humiliating.
Anyway, we appreciate you being with us, Congressman Mike Waltz of Florida.
By the way, his new book, Dawn of the Brave, will put up on Hannity.com.
It's in bookstores everywhere if you want to get a hold of it.
Congressman, thanks for being with us.
Thank you, Sean.
And if you go to BraveBooks.com, you can get it.
And $15 of every subscription goes to Samaritan's purse for the amazing work they're doing in Ukraine.
That's great.
I love Franklin Graham.
He does a terrific job.
And wherever there is hardship in the world, refugees, women, and children in need of anything, they're there.
And they're there within hours.
They're an amazing group.
Thank you, Congressman.
Appreciate it.
Quick break, right back.
Sean gets the answers no one else does.
America deserves to know the truth about Congress.
All right, 25 now until the top of the hour.
Toll free, it is 800-941-Sean.
You want to be a part of the program?
Straight to the phones we go.
Ryan is in the great state of Oklahoma.
Oklahoma would produce oil for us if we'd let them.
So would Texas.
So would North Dakota.
We can get natural gas.
We can get more oil from Alaska than we can get gas from West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Anyway, what's going on?
Ryan, how are you?
Hey, man, I'm doing great.
Thanks for taking my call.
I wanted to say, you know, I mean, I'm a cattle raiser.
I work in the midstream industry.
And, you know, a couple of days ago on your show, you talked about midterm elections and how important they are.
Man, I'll be honest with you.
I'm a little bit shaken.
And I want your opinion on what the election process looks like to you personally.
Not professionally, just give some common ground.
What do you think?
I mean, what are you telling a guy like me that's just blue-collar running?
So after 2020, when we know laws weren't followed, we know that constitutions were ignored, I started in early 2021.
And I said, everybody, you need to listen to me.
First course of business is to start with your state legislatures, and you need to have your state adopt election integrity measures.
And I spelled out what they were.
That would be voter IDs, signature verification.
That would be updated voter rolls every election, chain of custody controls.
I added one, which is illegal immigrants shouldn't be allowed to vote.
Like in New York City, they're now allowed in municipal elections.
Vermont, I think, has some counties that allow it.
And lastly, partisan observers get to watch the vote count, COVID or no COVID, up close and personal so we have integrity in the process and we get to have confidence in the results.
And if Pennsylvania, for example, if and they've tried, but they have a Democratic governor, they don't have the right to usurp the state constitution with legislation.
The only legal path would have been to amend the Constitution.
Now, I would argue that a lawsuit should be filed now, not after the election in 2022, challenging this before it happens.
Now, states like Georgia and Texas and Florida and Arizona, I believe even Wisconsin, they all are adopting election integrity measures.
Many others are too.
Not every state that we needed to do so is doing it, but many have.
And those that will will have confidence, will have integrity in the process and confidence in the results.
It's that simple.
What I'm asking for is not complicated.
Now, the Democrats, interestingly, they don't want any integrity measures.
They don't even want voter ID.
You need an ID to buy a jewel pod.
You need an ID to buy a six-pack of beer.
You need an ID to get into the U.S. Capitol.
You need an ID to get into the White House.
You know, I used to occasionally go to Washington, go to the Capitol, go to the Supreme Court, go to Langley, the CIA.
I've been there.
I've been in the White House.
And every time I go, they say, hi, Mr. Hannity.
How are you?
It's great to see you.
Can you please give us your photo IDs?
And I'm like, sure.
Same with the Democratic National Convention.
Hey, Mr. Hannity, how are you?
I hate when people call me Mr. I feel old.
And I'm just like, sure, here.
You can't get into the DNC convention without a picture ID.
So Democrats don't want integrity in the process.
They want chaos because they feel that works in their favor.
Signature verification, voter ID.
These are simple things that you would think everybody would want so it's an equal playing field.
Not every state has adopted it.
Now, with that said, the Republican Party in every state needs to be preparing now.
They need to have observers watching at all times.
Every drop box needs to be monitored 24-7.
The mail-in ballots need to be put in a room with a camera.
And from the minute they arrive at whatever voting headquarters they're headed towards, we ought to be able to see those ballots being placed in a room till the day that they're pulled out to be counted.
All of it should be on videotape.
So some things have been done, some things have not been done.
And if I had my way, every state would have done what, you know, adopted all these measures.
Yeah.
Well, there's a lot of conservative people out there that are a little bit shaken by it and they're losing their belief system.
And that's why I'm asking this question.
And listen, even if you have business, even if you don't have confidence in the system, that does not give you a pass to say, I'm going to sit this one out.
It's too important.
You got to get in there and give it your best shot.
At least try.
And that's all I'm asking everybody.
And Republicans got to get over, for whatever reason, this mysterious reluctance or resistance against mail in voting, if that is your state's law or early voting is your state's law, you need to embrace it like the Democrats do.
So that, you know, if it rains and snows and sleets and hails on election day, you're still going to make sure your vote is in there.
Okay?
That's my best advice.
Don't give up.
We need every vote counted and we need integrity.
Well, yeah, and no, and integrity is a big part of my life.
I mean, I work in the midstream industry.
I raise beef cattle and I got to wake up every morning to go against the government just to go to work, just to get a paycheck.
Farmers are getting killed because of the high cost of fertilizer.
No, we are.
Yeah, by the time the piece of meat, from my understanding, is by the time cattle is taken from a farm and taken to be slaughtered and taken then to be butchered.
You're putting all of this meat inside of a truck, and those trucks are paying the highest prices they've ever paid for diesel.
So the cost of that steak that you finally buy in your grocery store, your butcher shop, is a lot more than it used to be.
I'd say a good 50, 60% more because that's all I eat.
I'm on a paleo diet.
I eat meat all the time.
And I'll pay the price, but a lot of people, it's getting to the point they can't afford it anymore.
That's how bad this has gotten for people.
It's going to be about $100 just for me to, well, a little bit over $100 just for me to go to my pasture to feed my cows to and to, and it's going to cost me the price of a calf, my margin on the calf, to do it.
It just doesn't work.
Yeah.
And what are your feed costs?
How much higher are they?
Oh, man, they're 60% higher than what they were.
So now, are you able to charge more for your cattle?
You have to be.
Else, you can't stay in business.
Well, this would be another talk show, but no, I can't.
The American producer can't get it done.
So if you're not able to raise your prices and it gets to the point that you're in the red and you can't get in the black and you're not making any profit, you're not going to do it anymore.
That's going to only raise prices higher.
That's exactly right.
And it'll get swallowed into big corporate, big beef prices.
Another talk show right there.
Thanks for what you do.
I love beef ribs and I love my prime rib and I love my ribeye steaks.
Don't stop doing what you do.
Well, me too.
Love your show.
Thanks for having me.
Thank you, Ryan.
Thanks for what you do.
Sue is in Michigan.
Hey, Sue, how are you?
Glad you called.
My blood was boiling yesterday.
First, I want to say thanks for letting this event and also to educate people about what's going on.
Well, I came up with my solution while I was waiting to get on the show.
So Gran Holm was our former governor.
Now we have a nitwit.
But anyway, we had the pipeline, which they're still, I believe, trying to get taken care of.
But we send Grant Holm over to Putin and she convinces people to use electric tanks.
And I think that would help.
Don't you use electric what?
Electric tanks, because then they'd have to recharge all the time and they wouldn't have charging stations and their little war would be over.
Listen, I have had it with Buddha Judge and Jen Saki and Gran Holme.
You know, listen to Gran Holm.
This is what got it started.
Before they started lecturing, I was about buying electric cars at 60 grand.
And I'm not against electric cars.
I'm actually fascinated by Elon Musk.
He seems, you know, like an innovator and a smart guy.
And if he's successful, I wish him the best.
But listen to Gran Holm.
What is the Gran Holmes plan to increase oil production in America?
Oh, my God.
That is hilarious.
Would that I had the magic wand on this?
As you know, of course, oil is a global market.
It is controlled by a cartel.
That cartel is called OPEC.
And they made a decision yesterday that they were not going to increase beyond what they were already planning.
You know what the problem is, Sue?
She's going along with the narrative that is false because Joe Biden capitulating to the climate alarmist religious cult New Green Deal socialists artificially reduced the supply of oil on the world market.
And that's what caused the high price.
It's not Vladimir Putin.
Well, you know what breaks my heart is she was governor here.
I was not a supporter, obviously.
But, you know, it breaks my heart when I think about I live in the middle of the state.
And we have in Saginaw, we have in Flint, we have in Detroit, we have in Lansing, all these plants that help produce vehicles.
And those are jobs, and those are tech jobs besides, you know, engineers and things like that, design and engineering.
And it's like you would lose jobs.
You'd have, we can't get cars right now because of chips and delivery systems and things.
And the other thing that kills me is the whole electric car thing.
So I ran into a guy at the Y and he come to find out he drives a Jeep, which is how I talked to him.
Like, cool Jeep.
And I said, but what does it cost you to fill?
He said it was like $100, but that was his own little perk for himself.
But he was an engineer in our Saginaw plant when it was really kicking.
And then he went on to work for the government, same kind of thing.
And I was asking him about this electric car thing.
And he said, I said, how long?
We're going to Alabama.
My husband has a truck.
Costs $70, now $100 to fill.
And I said, I said, how often do you have to charge it?
And where do you find a station?
He said, you get about 300 miles with a charge, but that is without your air or heat or radio on.
Are you kidding me?
And then if you use those things, you get about 200 to 25 miles.
And I'm like, it would take us three weeks to get to Alabama because it takes like two hours to charge.
And he said, then it has to have the right voltage, I guess.
And when we drove up there and I saw three of the turbines about 20 years ago, that broke my heart because that's our beauty in our state.
And then when we go to my in-laws, I counted.
There's 100 of those on the way to the Lansing area.
And it just angers me every time we drive by there.
And the guy, the engineer guy I talked to, I said, so somebody told me those will pay for themselves like in 20 years.
And he said they never will.
And this guy's an engineer.
I think he knows what he's talking about.
Listen, it's not the answer.
This is the problem.
And the answer, and every other country, well, with the exception of Western European countries, we now know that Putin funded a lot of these environmental groups to get countries like Germany to capitulate to the climate alarmist religious cult.
And they shut down their nuclear facilities.
They stopped extracting natural gas.
And they became more and more dependent on Vladimir.
And that's why Trump handed Angela Merkel the white flag of surrender.
And that's why he lectured NATO and said that they're being so stupid that they'd be blackmailed sooner than later.
And it happened.
And all of this could have been prevented.
We have the natural resources to be independent and also to supply our allies with all of their energy needs.
And we'd make a fortune doing it.
And we're too stupid to do it.
And there's no excuse for this.
This is why these radical climate alarmists, religious cultists need to be defeated in November.
All right.
So new cars, if you can find them, are way over MSRP prices.
And used cars are up 40% in these inflationary times.
What does that mean for a lot of people?
You're hanging on to your old car.
I happen to be one of them.
They can't build my new car for another, what, year, two years?
I was told.
I'm like, oh, great.
If you want the same car, but it doesn't matter.
I got Car Shield.
Whether your car has 5,000 or 5, 155,000 miles on it, you can get a Car Shield plan that protects you and your family when you're on the road and protects against very expensive repairs.
I don't know if you've looked under the hood of a car recently, but it's complicated.
That means every single solitary repair is very expensive.
Now, the great thing with Car Shield is you're protected.
They have roadside protection.
They have car rental options available for you.
We're talking around $100 a month that covers more parts than ever before.
And the great thing is the roadside assistance is there.
If God forbid your older car breaks down and you're on the road, you have protection.
And maybe you save money by getting rid of other protection.
Anyway, CarShield helps protect my wallet from expensive car repairs.
It'll do the same for you.
