| So on Friday, ABC News Brian Ross enthusiastically reported that Lieutenant General Michael Flynn was prepared to testify against Donald Trump. | |
| And Flynn, according to Ross, said that Trump ordered him to contact the Russians during the 2016 campaign. | |
| Well, one problem with the report, it was dead wrong. | |
| An embarrassing and rare move. | |
| Ross clarified the story and said his source said the president asked Flynn to contact Russia during the campaign. | |
| He's now clarifying that statement, saying candidate Trump asked him during the campaign to find ways to repair relations with Russia and other hotspots. | |
| Then after the election, big distinction, the president-elect told him to contact Russia on other issues, including working together to fight ISIS. | |
