Time Text
Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
How many speeches do you think there were last night?
There were 61.
61 speeches and not a one of them.
Mention terrorism, ISIS, Dayish.
Not a one.
They claim that's coming later.
They claim, well, we got a different theme every night.
Tonight our theme is adultery.
Bill Clinton doing the keynote.
I mean, tonight the theme is that uh uh well they're gonna do some theme tonight.
Then they're gonna do they're gonna do uh they're gonna do they'll get to national security at some point.
Greetings, folks.
How are you?
Great to have you with us, Rushland Baugh here, once again, ready to execute broadcast excellence as we uh meet and surpass all audience expectations.
Telephone number if you want to be on the program is 800-282-2882.
Um the reason I mentioned 61 speeches and not a word about terrorism or ISIS is that an elderly priest, 86 was beheaded in his church in Normandy today in France by two ISIS knifemen shouting dayish after they took nuns and
worshippers hostage at the French church.
The policeman shot both the attackers dead, began to search for bombs.
There was no word on whether or not the church was air conditioned.
Now, if the if the church was air conditioned, the daily mail here, the UK is buried to leave.
If the church was air conditioned, it might explain why ISIS went in there.
Well, no, I'm just a John Kerry said that air conditioning is as big a threat as ISIS is.
You know, ISIS, they hear this stuff.
You know, can you imagine the ISIS leaders?
Are you kidding?
We now have to battle air conditioning?
Are you kidding us?
Air conditioning's as bad as we are.
So I think they might begin to factor that in to uh targets.
And I mention all of this because that's insanity to suggest that air conditioning poses a greatest as great a threat as ISIS or militant Islamic terrorism or any other kind of terrorism, but that's what we get from the Democrat Party.
Now, folks, I want to try to share an observation here with you.
I um, you know, I I watched the Democrat Convention.
I watch all of these kind of things that we saw last night, like this this year's convention.
I watch them now with a different perspective than I used to.
I used to watch these and gather material that I could use to be funny, to be informative, to be entertaining, while at the same time condemning what I thought was worth being condemned that might be said or was said at any of these conventions.
But the central focus was to laugh at it.
Because it's so ridiculous.
What we hear from the modern Democrat Party is ridiculous.
But as I say, I now watch with a different perspective.
I watch with a lot of sadness.
I watch this lunacy that we saw last night, and if you didn't watch it, don't worry, you'll get enough of a flavor for it after I finish the program today, you'll know.
But it was sheer lunacy.
A lot of it was delusional and deranged.
A lot of it was unhinged.
The reason that I watch it with sadness is the realization now that close to 50% of the people in this country who vote eat it up.
They love it.
They applaud it.
They think that it is great.
There's no critical thinking.
If there were critical thinking, the Democrats wouldn't get out of that city with 10%, 20% of the vote.
Everything is so contradictory.
So it's it's with it's with a different lens that I watch these things now, and it's with a a a different style, uh, shall you say that I tell you about what I saw.
I used to confidently laugh.
I used to believe that nowhere near a majority of people are gonna fall for this garbage that makes up a Democrat convention and what you hear from the podium.
It isn't the case anymore.
I now watch the stuff and cringe.
I watch the stuff and I I try to imagine believing it.
I try to imagine falling for it, and in order to do that, I have to somehow try to understand psychology, because that's what the Democrat Party is anymore.
It's a psychological pitch.
The Democrat Party has done many destructive things on its way to acquiring power.
But among the most destructive things the Democrat Party has done is destroy the concepts of self-reliance, optimism, and goodness.
A Democrat convention, it was exactly as I predicted last night.
We got speaker after speaker, picture after picture, ultimately of doom and gloom, of misery and suffering.
We had people praising the sitting president for being remarkable in his successes, while at the same time detailing everything wrong and horrible in this country, and they happen to be the same things the current president detailed as horribly wrong at both of his conventions in 2008 and 2012.
I had to sit through the specter of speaker after speaker after speaker, tell everybody what's wrong and how they have no hope and no chance unless some of the people in that room happen to be elected to office.
It's what a message.
You got nothing unless we win elections.
And these people are applauding it and eating it up, and here we are, seven and a half years into the very destructive Barack Obama administration, and that's acknowledged.
Speaker after speaker, unwittingly acknowledges the decline that has happened in this country.
Although they don't, of course, attach that to Obama.
They use the limbaugh theorem.
And they act like Obama's fighting a valiant battle against these dark forces that are unseen that are wreaking all this havoc on the United States and the people sitting in the convention hall.
The Democrats are the only people in this country who are targeted, and they're targeted by Wall Street, they're targeted by big pharmaceutical, they're targeted by big oil.
I mean, it was the same thing, recycled that I have heard every convention.
But I have I have to say to myself as I watch this, the ways that I have chosen to deal with this and maybe have not been the most effective ways of dealing with it, because the number of people that buy into it seems to be growing.
The number of people that buy into this abject dystopia that was on display last night seems to be growing.
The explanation has to be psychological.
The Democrats have succeeded in beating people down.
The Democrats have succeeded in taking initiative and hope.
Hope is just a word now.
They have succeeded in taking drive and ambition out of people.
They have convinced the people that vote for them that there isn't an escape for the horrors of this country unless the Democrat Party wins elections.
That's the only recipe for people being able to.
Of course, it's absurd.
It's insane, it's lunacy.
People that vote Democrat are some of the most depressed people you'll run into.
They're some of the angriest people you'll run into.
Despite in these last seven and a half years getting everything they want.
Everything they thought would lead them to their utopia.
But by their own admission.
At their own convention last night, they're no closer to utopia than they've ever been.
And they're never going to get there because it isn't possible.
And of course, the reasons, the reason that everybody in that hall is justified in feeling miserable and despondent, depressed, and out of sorts, is because there are Republicans.
Yes, there are Republicans and there are conservatives.
And that's why.
The Democrats never explain why they're not able to wipe out the Republicans.
The Democrats never explain to their charges why it is that the people responsible for this misery continue to triumph.
I. But they don't.
The Republicans are still there despite being the problem.
Despite being the explanation.
Picture after picture.
I mean, some of these speakers try to dress it up.
Cory Booker tried to be Barack Obama of 2004 last night, but he didn't pull it off.
Did any of you in there, I have to ask.
Don't you watch this?
Good.
I don't blame you.
Brian, I know you sturdily, you did.
All right, so you did well, I'm not going to play, I don't have a lot of Corey Booker, but just let me, he the guy went way too long.
They talk about Trump shouting.
This guy shouted everything, and he was trying to be as uplifting and positive.
He was redefining the purpose of the declaration of independence.
Really, it's a declaration of interdependence.
Because you know that means nobody can do it on their own.
While talking about the greatness of the founders, he then proceeded to destroy the concept of rugged individualism.
The theme of the night last night, you can't do anything on your own.
We can only do everything together.
You can't do a thing on your own.
You might get somewhere on your own, but you can't go far.
You can get fast by yourself.
You can go fast on your own, but you can't go all the way.
You can only get there together.
That brought the house down.
Yay!
I'm sitting here, well, this is God bloody gook.
This is the kind of stuff that 17-year-old girls used to find in calendars and post on the bedroom wall.
And now it's substance at a Democrat National Convention.
So no, folks, we're still gonna have our fun with it.
And we're still gonna point it all out, and we're still going to laugh at it.
But at the same time, I no longer am going to sit here and blindly assume that the vast majority of Americans are gonna also find it ridiculous because the vast majority don't.
I don't know where we are, but I'm telling you, at least 40% of the people of this country, if they were to have watched this last night, would have thought it was greatness, would have thought it was right on, would have thought it was all the answer, would have thought that the Democrats are the only people that care, the only people that love, the only people that understand, the only people that feel, and they sign right on to it.
The contradictions and the hypocrisy notwithstanding.
We had a bunch of speakers last night, supposedly the stars of the party and Elizabeth Warren, she got booed.
You didn't hear it unless you knew it was there and rewound and watched it again.
There were people shouting, we don't trust you, we don't trust you during her speech.
They were Bernie supporters.
I didn't hear it at first.
I don't know if it wasn't, they don't close caption what the audience says, or if there's any hicklers.
And I'm watching, of course, I have to listen to my cochlear implants.
I just thought it was crowd noise.
I couldn't, I can't distinguish booze from applause.
I have to know which is which in order to hear it, like the Debbie B.S. soundbites yesterday.
To me, it was indistinguishable.
It was somebody told me they were booing her than I knew.
It wasn't until this morning that I found out that she was being heckled last night.
And it was not because the drive-bys told anybody.
In fact, Andrea Mitchell, NBC News from Washington, pointed out today, you'll hear this coming up, pointed out that Elizabeth Bourne did not have the room captivated.
She's had 40% of the crowd was sitting on its hands last night.
And if Chuck Todd came along and upbraided her, if Chuck Todd said, you're not supposed to give it away like that.
And if Chuck Todd said, people at home didn't see it that way, and that's what we report is what the people at home saw.
Well, there wasn't unity in there last night.
And there wasn't any particular happiness in there last night.
And well, I don't know.
There might have been happiness, the way these people define it, I mean, who knows?
I think you've heard the concept happily miserable.
I think that was this room last night.
Or what is it, miserably happy?
I forget which it is.
Before the convention began, our favorite Congressman from Georgia, Hank Johnson, this is the guy who worried that Guam might be swallowed by the Pacific Ocean because too many people lived on one side of the island and might tip it into the or something like this, I forget.
Hank Johnson said, well, he compared Israeli settlers to termites.
The American flag was not on display last night.
You could not see it.
In fact, I don't think, I'll have to double check, but I think the color red was not seen on camera last night.
There were various shades of blue and and uh gold and more but red, which of course identifies with the Tea Party Republican Party.
I don't think, even in the TV sets, I don't think there was any red.
Now, some of the people wore red or pink, but the Palestinian flag was raised in the audience at the Democrat National Convention.
The American flag wasn't.
Palestinian flag was one other crazy wacko flag that was parading around.
Anyway, I have an idea.
After last night, I have an idea for a short speech that Trump could give.
So somebody call the Trump campaign and have him tune in because I got a great idea coming.
By the way, folks, I have to disagree with people who are saying Michelle Obama was hypocritical last night.
If I've had one email I've had a thousand from people who really, really seem to be offended over Michelle Obama saying that this is a great country.
We don't need to make it any grits, great as it is.
And people are saying she doesn't believe that.
I can see her smirking when she was walking off, one emailer said.
She doesn't believe it.
Rush, go back to 2008 when she said it was the first time she's ever proud of her country when her husband was running for office.
Folks, don't lose perspective.
Her husband has been in office seven and a half years.
This country is in the middle of a massive transformation.
She's not going to go out there and undercut her husband.
She ain't gonna go out there and say anything other than the country is great, and she probably thinks that it is.
She probably thinks that the things her husband has done that are transforming this country, that 94 million Americans aren't working.
I mean, there was if you knew what to listen for, you could hear the push-button signs that she's still angry, still carries around a lot of resentment.
It was there, it was all over the speech.
But her husband's about to leave, they're building legacy.
She's not going to run around out there and talk about how unexceptional the country is.
She's got to give her husband credit, but in her mind and his, with the way they are transforming America, I think they think it is on the way to greatness.
Maybe what they think is that the changes they are instituting, the changes being implemented are great to bring about the transformation this country deserves because it's been much too powerful and much too rich for way too long.
And it's inarguable that Obama is doing a lot about that.
The country's not as wealthy, the country's more in debt.
Uh Mission accomplished.
I think I think the analysis of the Obama administration is mission accomplished.
And his wife is certainly going to go out there.
And as far as the low information segment of the population, vast, vast, vast majority of which votes Democrat.
If you are a progressive as Obama is, and you want to sell the direction you're taking this country, it's okay to call it great now because you've got it moving in the direction of decline.
So I wouldn't be so quick to throw out the hypocrisy charge at her.
She's going to be even more proud after her husband has been in office for nearly eight years.
He was never proud of her country until he ran.
Well, she's got to be swelling with pride at the damage that he has brought about after eight years, it makes sense to me.
Folks, welcome back, Rush Limbaugh, executing assigned host duties flawlessly zero mistakes, the hack of the DNC server.
The Democrats just can't wait to tell you the Russians did it.
And they're dragging out all of these security experts to tell you that there are signals.
There are bits of evidence that the Russian hackers, there were two teams, two different Russian hacker teams working independently.
They didn't know.
They were both inside the Democrat National Committee server.
This is the story.
One was the old uh uh KGB, and the other was the uh defense security.
But two different appointments, apartment 28, apartment 29, APT 2829, two different hacker groups, Russian Intel in the DNC server at the same time.
They say there are crumbs of evidence that the cyber intelligence people have found.
Okay, maybe, but it's awfully convenient.
There's a lot to say about this, folks, this hacking business, but here's the to me, the most important thing about this is it isn't over.
There is much more to come.
We don't know when it's coming, but I think we can rest assured that whoever hacked the Democrat National Committee Computer Network also hacked Hillary's idiotic private little server in the basement in Chappaqua.
And whoever that, if it's Russian cyber intelligence, if it's some 17-year-old kid in his pajamas in Idaho, whoever it is, they've got that too.
And that's coming.
That is going to be, or it's going to be withheld and blackmail her with.
A lot of people say, Rush, why would the Russians do this?
Why wouldn't the Russians collect the data and hold on to it and blackmail her after she becomes elected?
Wouldn't that be more effective for them than having to deal with Trump?
Well, they could have their cake and eat it too on this.
But Hillary Clinton's already sold access to her presidency through the foundation.
And believe me, there are emails about that, and those emails are gonna drop.
And Julian Assange at WikiLeaks is pretty much intimated this is gonna happen.
But whatever, this isn't over.
Nobody knows when the next dump is gonna happen.
And nobody knows if there has been any purloining of data from the RNC computer network.
Now, Trump does not do email, so there isn't any scoop to get on him.
He tweets, he's got a phone, but he doesn't do email.
His staff sends around emails for him, but he doesn't do it.
For this very reason.
But speaking of Trump, my idea for a Trump speech would be simply to list, and this is not instead of what he's doing.
This is an addendum.
My idea for a short Trump speech, maybe an intro to the speech that he's gonna give to his improv and all of these appearances.
Just list who the Democrats are.
Black Lives Matter, new Black Panthers, occupy Wall Street, stripping God from their party platform, transgender bathroom advocates, pro-death panels, baby butchers, a candidate who violated the espionage act thousands of times, sexual predators, pedophiles, illegals, sharia Muslims, Marxists.
That's the Democrat Party today.
That's who votes for them.
That's who the Democrats defend.
And then after listing the various constituencies of the Democrat Party, because that's who they are now.
I mean, the Democrats used to have white working class males, Trump's Trump owns them now.
Another big labor union came out and endorsed Trump.
They're losing the old faction of constituency groups, and they've got a new group.
Let me run through this list of constituents again.
Black lives matter.
Do you know what's going to happen tonight on the stage of their convention?
They're going to have six, I think it's six, not sure of the number.
They're going to have mothers of young black men gunned down by the cops.
The Democrat convention tonight will thus be at one and in solidarity.
with a criminal element in this country.
They will purposely stake out a position opposite that of law enforcement.
Tonight, on the stage in Philadelphia at the Democrat National Convention.
And do you know who is going to be the lead mom of all the moms of victims of police murder and brutality tonight?
It's the mother of the gentle giant.
Yep, she is the leading mom in this group of women that are gonna speak.
Now, again, that whole thing is a lie.
Hands up, don't shoot, did not happen.
Michael Brown was not gunned down in cold blood, trying to surrender.
It's indisputable.
The evidence is clear, the eyewitnesses, five or six of them African American, have all testified that it was his aggressive move toward the cop in the cops' police car.
He made a move trying to get the cops gun that led to the shooting.
The cop was not tracking him down, was not out of the car following him down the middle of the street, and the gentle giant was not walking with his hands up and his back turned to the cops, saying, hands up, don't shoot.
And yet the Democrat Party and President Obama have sponsored this lie.
And tonight they are going to sponsor this lie yet again.
They are going to officially sanction this lie again tonight.
There may be, there are instances of the cops making mistakes.
But it is not because they're hunting.
It is not because they simply decide, you know what, let's go shoot some minorities.
It doesn't happen that way.
But the Democrat Party wants you to think that it does, and they're going to spend a lot of time on their convention tonight to try to convince you that that is what law enforcement is in America today.
They already set it up by talking about various speakers, how unfair the incarceration rates.
We don't need any more prisons.
We need love.
We don't need any more con we don't need any more convictions or whatever.
It's irresponsible.
The president of the United States and his party willfully lying to the country not to calm anybody down, not to tamp down the situation.
This is going to enrage the situation Tonight.
This is going to inflame it tonight.
Unless something is planned for this that I don't know and don't conceive.
But I mean, if you're going to have the mother of Michael Brown lead off and be the de facto leader of the mom's sons dead at the hands of the cops.
If she's, if she's number one.
And that whole thing isn't true.
This is just, it's irresponsible.
That's beyond even that.
So all Trump has to do is open his speech, Black Lives Matter, New Black Panthers, occupy Wall Street, stripping God from their party platform, transgender bathroom advocates, pro-death panels in health care, baby butchers at Planned Parenthood.
A candidate who violated the espionage act thousands of times.
Pedophiles, illegal immigrants, sharia law Muslims, Marxists.
The modern day Democrat Party, and you close it with a simple ending.
It's time to clean up this mess.
We deserve better.
Let them manage their own affairs.
Good night, God bless you, and God bless America.
That's all you'd have to do.
And then launch into whatever your your big thrust speech is of the night.
You know me, my friends, I have always believed in identifying the Democrats ideologically and for who they are.
And so's Trump.
You know, Trump's still out there.
He made a speech VFW.
I guess he spoke there this morning.
He was all over North Carolina yesterday.
And he's making the point that we've got to openly declare and identify our enemies, talking about ISIS.
I think we have to do the same thing with the Democrat Party.
Because I don't know how many low information people know they're the party of Black Lives Matter, new Black Panthers, Occupy Wall Street.
They might.
Could be worse than I think.
I mean, don't forget 30, 40, who knows what percentage of people actually support all of this.
Gotta take a break.
We'll be back and continue after this.
Did anybody else notice that Michelle Obama sort of slammed Twitter last night?
Now it's it's it maybe is a minor deal to me, but these are the kind of things that might impact people.
You would never know.
Nobody would ever talk about it, nobody ever admit it to you.
But it's almost a subliminal thing.
In her attack on Trump, she never mentioned Trump's name, but she made reference to the fact that this is much more important than just responding in 140 characters.
And in the process, she maligned the whole concept of Twitter.
Not just Trump, but she maligned now.
I thought a lot of liberals thought Twitter's cool.
A lot.
A lot of lot of liberals think that Twitter's hip.
Yeah, and Michelle even hash had to bring back our girls or save our girls hashtag and so forth.
But it was a it was a it's a kind of thing people would think Republicans would do would be make fun of tech or criticize tech.
That was a it was a criticism of Trump, but it was 140 characters, everybody knows that's Twitter.
And she was putting it down.
Anyone else notice, by the way, I noticed this because I was getting itchy.
It was getting time to take the dogs out, and I was having to make a decision.
Wait for Bernie or take the dogs out.
And I looked, it was almost 11 o'clock, and Bernie still wasn't on.
And then I realized and I chuckled.
I said, they're still dissing the poor guy.
He's the prime time speaker.
10 to 11 o'clock.
By 11 o'clock, Democrats that are usually gonna watch this, they're they're they're either stoned, tauped, or in bed, or something else.
I mean, you would think Bernie's gonna get up on 10.15 or 10.30, but they they waited until 10.55 to get Bernie out there.
And then the applause for Bernie and the delays before he was spia, took another seven or eight minutes.
Three minute standing ovation and four minutes of him saying thank you, thank you, Thank you.
Trying to get him to shut up.
So Bernie didn't really start talking until after 11 o'clock.
Other than Monday Night Football, that's Death Valley.
You'll notice the Republican convey it was done by 11.
They never waited till 11 o'clock to get somebody they really wanted you to hear on the stage.
I think they dissed him again last night.
I think they just dragged that whole thing out, hoping that by the time he got on his supporters and be run ragged, out of energy.
It was hot, even with the air conditioning, it had rained, forcing the media out of their tent, by the way.
It had protests.
They did spend a lot of energy yesterday.
And I think that they were doing their best to just make sure that the energy for Bernie was as little as they can manufacture it.
Give you three sound bites here before we go to the break, just to give you a because you didn't watch this, or some of you didn't.
Here is during the invocation.
For those of you in real linda, that's the opening prayer.
They started booing.
They started booing during the invocation and chanting Bernie Bernie.
We have an opportunity, oh God, to give undeniable evidence of our commitment to justice and equality by nominating Hillary Rodden Clinton as our candidate.
It's a prayer.
It's a prayer.
Communication.
As our candidate for the highest office in the land.
God, you have given us wisdom.
Now give us courage for the facing of this hour.
They're all shouting Bernie Bernie Bernie during the prayer.
Bernie Bernie, not Hillary, Hillary, Hillary, Bernie, Bernie Bernie.
Now here's what I referred to you earlier.
This is Elizabeth Warren.
She got heckled.
But you might not have known this watching this last night.
You might have just, if I I don't know how easy it was.
Could you tell that they were booing her?
You see, that's it.
I had no prayer because of my cochlear implant hearing, and they don't close caption protesters and applause and that kind of stuff.
So I had no idea.
I knew there was a ruckus.
I knew something was was being said.
It wasn't until this morning that it I found out was a bunch of Bernie people shouting at her.
We trusted you!
We trusted you!
They think she sold out.
Well, she did sell out.
She did sell out, startling up to uh Hillary.
Here's how this sounded.
You know, for me.
This choice is personal.
It's about who we are as a people.
It's about what kind of a country we want to be.
I'll tell you something else.
Um the Democrat, the media review of Focahantas's speech is not good.
And I, you know, watching it, see, this is the watching it.
I thought she was doing her typically really rousing good job.
And I read what Democrats thought of it today, and they thought she gave it a 60% effort.
She gave it a half-assed effort.
She wasn't, it wasn't anywhere near her best.
He wasn't really into it, which just means I haven't seen a whole lot of Elizabeth Warren's speeches, but she got heckled.
We trusted you.
And now here's Bernie.
This was uh after a lot of people's bedtime, finally pulling the trigger and telling everybody they gotta bite the bullet and support Hillary.
By these matches, any objective observer will conclude that based on her ideas and her leadership, Hillary Clinton must become the next president of the United States.
And we got 29 seconds of booze here.
There are so many...
upset Democrats.
I read two different commentators today accusing Bernie Sanders of plagiarizing himself.
That here he has the biggest audience he's ever had, and he didn't do an original speech.
He just gave a speech that he's given time and time again before, and they're claiming he phoned it in.
By the way, an important thing to remember as we discuss the email leak.
Democrat National Committee server.
Don't forget, don't forget what was the first document dump from this hack.
It was the Democrat National Committee's files on opposition research for Donald Trump.
Export Selection
