Time Text
Right, so we had this caller who is a uh not a Trump supporter.
Did he say he was a cruise supporter just but just not is just mad at Trump, doesn't want Trump, and is tired of me calling anybody opposed to Trump establishment.
I really wish that person had hung up.
That person probably realized he was wrong and thought I was gonna yell at him.
I don't yell at anybody.
I don't yell.
I ought to.
If there's anybody ought to yell at people, it's me.
You know, people say, Russia, have you made that point of look at I've made every point that's ever been made.
It hasn't been a point made that I haven't made, and generally first.
Anyway, greetings, great to have you back, Rush Limbaugh 800-282-2882, if you want to be on the program.
When it comes to you voters, I'm not I'm not accusing anybody opposed to Trump as being pro-establishment or member of the establishment.
All I'm trying to do here is to inform.
This this look, folks, this really isn't complicated.
Uh I realize there's a lot of people new listening to the program.
Election years always bring in, and there's new people every day anyway, as as people grow and and and find themselves interested, this is the place to come.
You want to find out really what's what's shaking.
And the the purpose here, I mean, I I don't want to get too lofty.
It's a radio program, number one.
So those requirements and their secret have to be met.
It's a radio program.
This is this is not a political campaign.
This is not a political party.
It's a radio show.
And I'm a host who has opinions about things.
And I inform.
And there's a part of me that equates informing with teaching.
I'm not accusing anybody here other than the people that I'm specifically talking about.
Now, you may be a voter, a citizen, an average ordinary American, and you don't support Trump, and you tune in here and you hear me berating the people trying to stop Trump, and you think I'm talking about you.
Are you in charge of the Republican Convention?
Are you in the RNC?
Are you part of the cabal the New York Times talking about today that's trying to start this massive 100-day plan starting on April 5th, Wisconsin primary to stop Trump, to deny Trump the nomination?
Are you in that group?
Well, then I'm not talking about you.
Do you have your card carrying I am a member of the Republican establishment card in your wallet?
If you don't, I'm not talking about you.
I'm trying to tell you who they are.
Now, if you happen to end up agreeing with them, fine, but I'm not accusing you of anything.
I'm trying to explain the people who support they're being maligned, the people that support Trump are being mocked and impugned and laughed at, and I'm trying to tell you who they are.
The only people I really accuse here are Democrats in mass, liberals en masse, and rhinos en masse, who do not I'm I'm trying to teach, inform, uh motivate, inspire whatever that the real problem our nation faces is continued dominance of the Democrat Party.
That's got to stop.
I mean, if Daffy Duck told me that he would oppose Democrats, he's the only guy on the Republican side running, I would vote for him.
There is no scenario in which I vote for Hillary Clinton.
Not one.
There is not a single scenario where I vote for Bernie Sanders.
But yet, there's Nicole Wallace who was part of the George W. Bush White House communications office.
And she's all over TV, and she's out there saying today that it might be wise for certain Republicans if they're not happy with what happens in the go ahead and vote for Hillary.
I'm sorry.
No way ever, no how.
Just like I wouldn't vote for Obama, I wouldn't vote for Shea Guevara, I wouldn't vote for Castro.
Obama, have you seen the picture of Obama posting with a bunch of Cubans posing in front of a gray drab building with a with a caricature of Shag Guevara on it.
You think that's an accident?
You think that just happened?
Oh, look at what happened to Obama.
Wait till he sees that.
You know how mad he's gonna be?
Wait till Obama sees it.
That was planned.
Shea Guevara is a hero to people on the left.
He was a mass murdering communist thug.
But because he looked like a real cool guy.
She Guevara looked back in the 50s and 60s like cool guys today look.
That's why Shea Guevara is a hero.
The Shea Guevara t-shirts and adults running around wearing, wearing them have no idea.
And they're probably part of that bunch that thinks communism is about individual liberty and freedom and making everybody upwardly mobile and equal.
That we had from Chris Cuomo earlier today.
But there's no way I vote for Hillary Clinton.
I don't care.
There is no way, and we have all these principled Republicans running around, wringing their hands.
Well, I may, I'm there are some elected Republicans saying it.
I may vote for Hillary Clinton if that's the only to save the honor and integrity of my party, to save the heart and soul of my party.
I simply can't move for now.
I must vote.
I might have to vote for Hillary, or a third party that guarantees Hillary.
Sorry, folks, I don't look at all this as a suicide pact.
You know, my my character, my honor does not require me to help commit suicide for my country.
So, you know, back off and stop taking everything personally.
It's I I thought I'd been very clear who I'm talking about here.
When I talk about the establishment, when I talk about people, I know that there are average American voters out there impugning and deriding Trump.
I know that you're out there.
But I'm not including you in all of this.
When I talk about the existing power structure that is putting together strategies and plans to stop the guy.
They're free to do it, by the way.
Remember, I'm just telling you what they're doing.
If I think they're making a mistake, I'll tell you that too, which I often do.
But what is it?
Am I such an authoritative figure that people who disagree with me think that I am impugning and castigating and criticizing them?
Well, I that's true.
There is a lot of hypersensitivity out there, and there is a lot of edginess out there about this.
And there's a lot of frustration.
There are a lot of people.
Oh.
There are a lot of people who are waking up to the reality they don't have the power to influence any of this, and that's really got them bugged, and they're all over the place.
Oh, look, there's Obama meeting with uh with Raul Castro.
Yes, no doubt they're talking about the freedom of the people and the equality and upward economic mobility of all communist citizens.
And what a beautiful thing that it is.
It makes me want to puke.
Grab that.
Grab it soundbite number three.
You you've got to hear this again, folks.
This is Chris Cuomo.
He's on the ground.
It's not summit number two, I'm sorry.
Chris Cuomo in Cuba, he's wearing a shirt that his dad, Mario the Pious, gave him.
Former governor of uh of New York, and Alison Camarada asks him about it.
But after he explains that, I want you to listen to this.
Remember, this guy grew up in the household of the one of the most popular Democrat governors there's ever been, Mario Cuomo.
What Chris Cuomo knows and thinks is what he heard at the family dinner table being talked about within the family wherever this is.
As I say, it was an eye-opening.
Almost embarrassing.
I didn't have this figured out myself.
My Guayabera?
This shirt belonged to my father.
It was given to him by Fidel Castro.
It marked conversations going on decades Ago.
That were the same as those today.
The concern was the freedom of the people.
What is the point of this communist regime if it is not to truly make everyone equal, not at the lowest level, not by demoralizing everyone, but lifting everyone up?
My father, generations of politicians have been fighting this, so I wear this shirt as a reminder of that.
I'm still almost speechless and stunned.
Shock here.
The concern, my father's been talking about this with people for years.
The concern was the freedom of the people.
What is the point?
He's talking about the castro read.
What is the point of this castro regime if it's not to truly make everybody equal?
Not at the lowest level, but by lifting everyone up.
What is the point of a communist regime?
It is to deny every bit of that.
A communist regime is built on so many frauds.
It's built on the fraud that everybody's the same.
It's built on the fraud that everybody can be the same.
It's built on the fraud that every outcome can be made equal and that everybody can be upper middle class.
It's built on the fraud that everybody can have what they want and there'd be total freedom, and there are no wants and no desires, and they're most importantly, there will never be any competition.
Communism is built on the belief that utopia is possible and can be provided by benevolent people running it.
And communism accomplishes just the exact opposite.
By design, communism by design is designed to make everybody poor.
It's designed to make everybody miserable, it's designed to make everybody the same.
It's designed to provide a system whereby the leaders are the only ones who get and have what they want.
So once again, what are we back to?
We're back to good intentions.
Communism fails every time it's been tried.
Socialism, dido.
But because the good intentions we continue to have and invest our hope.
And what are the good intentions?
That everybody's going to be elevated and everybody's good.
You know, this is it's stupid.
This is you talk about stupidity.
This is rank ignorance.
Dangerous rank ignorance.
That particular belief of communism.
And that's your modern-day Democrat Party, folks.
That's it.
The American president posing in front of a picture of Shag Guevara.
By the way, sternly, were you upset like Trump was that uh Raul Castro was not at the airport to meet Obama?
Did that do you Trump said that you should turn a plane around?
If Raul is not, if Raul's going to be there to meet the Pope, if Raul's gonna be there to meet uh uh say Hugo Chavez when he was alive at land, if he's not gonna be there to meet the president of the United States, you turn that plane around and you get out of there.
You do not get off that airplane.
Think Trump's right about that or not.
Quick timeout.
We'll be back and continue with much more on the EIB network.
Don't go away.
Back to the phones.
Richard in Morristown, New Jersey.
Thank you for calling, sir.
Great to have you here.
Hi.
Thank you.
Dead O'Srush.
I wanted to comment on your uh analysis of the Republican establishment focusing their energy not on winning, uh, but on uh keeping their jobs.
And I I think it's as relevant today as uh Eisenhower's warning against the military industrial complex was in the 50s.
I think, in fact, the Republican political industrial complex has decided that its best strategy is for Hillary to be elected to justify uh their positions.
And without them, just like the uh enemies were needed to justify military spending and to justify huge military establishment, we need the opposition of a President Obama or a Hillary Clinton to justify the billions of dollars of consultants and media money and and all of the other establishments.
Okay, now you you are taking it a little farther than than I have gone.
And so therefore, everybody in the in the audience, I want you to realize this guy was insulting every one of you.
Every one of you that's not supporting Trump, you are supporting Hillary because you want I'm just kidding.
I'm trying to say this.
Doing that would be as mad as crazy as getting mad at me.
But look at what this guy's saying.
I know what he's saying.
He's saying secretly the Republican establishment wants Hillary to win, so they've got a reason to ask you to send them money to stop her, to stop the Democrats, that they would rather play defense, rather raise money on the defensive posture,
and therefore continue to need campaign consultants and advisors and whatever who also need to be employed, and you need all of these people to stop Hillary in her tracks so that she does not succeed implementing her agenda.
Now the reason that I'm at arm's length on this is because I, your host am accused of the same thing.
And I have been for well, not exactly, but it in a related way.
Hang on.
I have been for 25 years accused of secretly wanting Democrats to win so that I have somebody to rail against Democrats in the White House.
That it's much easier to do this show with your enemies in power than your friends.
And I've had people idiots, know nothings, the ignorante, brilliant trade publications, brilliant campaign analysts, brilliant broadcast analysts claim that the secret is that I really don't want Republicans to win.
When I say to you that I'm concerned about the future of the country, I'm lying to you.
They say I'm just making that up.
What I really want is Hillary to win.
But I uh my show would not have happened if Bill Clinton hadn't been in the White House.
They that that became a popular refrain in 1996.
This program was already at 400 radio stations before Clinton was elected.
We added 200 stations after Clinton was elected, basically.
But yet the critics are out there saying that I'm lying to you, that I'm dishonest with you, that I seek all this stuff I'm saying about Democrats, I really don't mean it.
And all this stuff I'm saying about wanting to stop them, I really don't mean it because for ratings and money, I need Democrats in the White House.
And I have I am offended and indignant every time I hear it, because that is an attack on my honor.
When I tell you that I want what's best for this country, I mean it, and it isn't the Democrats.
And I would happily do this program with somebody I support in the White House.
Happily wouldn't bother me a bit.
It is why I had to create a saying.
Because of allegations like this all the way back to the early 90s, my success does not depend on who wins elections.
And that became my reason for not endorsing people.
It became my reason for not becoming personally attached with any candidate because they're going to come and go.
And I am always going to be here.
And I don't want to attach myself to somebody I don't know, to a candidate in particular over whom I have no control.
That to me makes no sense whatsoever.
Why attach myself to a candidate who may one day become the exact opposite of what he campaigned on, and it's going to be up to me to defend it.
Hey, Rush, you told us you swore that this guy was the real deal.
I'm not going to put myself in that position.
And the way you do it is you do not get personally attached.
You don't become friends, and you do not become surrogates in terms of campaign aids or what have you.
Because this is serious stuff to me.
It's a radio show and ingredients required there.
But it the end result of all this is very, very serious to me.
The future of this country is very, very serious to me.
It is the essence of my existence to maintain this country is founded, doing whatever I can here.
But it does not include hitching myself to people over whom I have no influence or control.
So I'm always at arm's length analyzing, explaining, opining, informing, what have you.
Now, when we get down to just two candidates, primaries are over, well, then everything changes.
And like I say, there is not a single scenario in which I vote for Hillary Clinton.
Not one.
And I can't tell you how perplexed and curious I become when I hear Republicans say that.
Really?
Really?
You can foresee having to vote for Hillary Clinton.
Really?
No matter?
I mean, we it's a it's a known product.
It's the third term of Barack Obama.
It's the third term of Slick Willie.
It's the continuation of radical leftist judges all through the court system.
Why in the world would anybody vote for them?
This guy thinks they're doing it.
Because that's how they best stay in power, as the loyal opposition asking for money, asking for support to stop them.
Well, we've been doing not enough stopping as it is, folks.
Okay, for you iPhone and iPad owners, uh later today, Apple is going to release iOS 9.3.
It's been in beta since early January.
They released seven betas.
This really, really tightened up the OS.
It is fast, it is battery efficient.
Battery life I've given getting with it is incredible.
Plus, they've added a whole slew of really interesting little features.
One's called night shift, which there's a theory out there that blue light from computer screens at night interrupts sleep patterns.
It continues to make your body think it's daylight, and it interrupts the circadian rhythm.
This is supposedly the result of scientific research.
So this feature, night shift is optional.
You can turn it on whenever you want to or not.
You can set it to come on and go off on a schedule, or you can set it to sun set, it comes on and goes up at sunrise.
What it does is takes blue out of the picture, out of the screen, which is called warming it up.
A cooler picture has more blue light, a warmer picture has more red light.
And I and I've been testing this well since early January and playing with it.
And I don't know if it's made any difference.
So I can't attest to whether or not, but it's a cool feature, nevertheless.
I mean, it does you get used to having it on at night.
And but there's some other things too.
Uh they've they've added some great things with iBooks, they've added some uh uh security features to the they've really ramped up the notes app, by the way, and they've added password protection to individual notes, not all of them.
You can set whatever password you want, some other little things here.
But they've really tightened it up as far as battery efficiency and speed.
Seven betas.
I mean, they've really cleaned this up.
9.2.1 was was pretty good anyway.
And there's new software for the Apple TV coming, and for the watch, you can now connect two watches to one iPhone if you are a watch owner.
Plus, they've got their new hardware order on Thursday for delivery next week.
A new four-inch iPhone looks just like the iPhone 5S, by the way, but it's uh its guts are everything an iPhone 6S has except for 3D touch.
So that's the highlight.
Those are the highlights from the Apple Confab today.
Here is Oh, oh no, no, no, no.
Obama and Raul Castro, as we speak, are having a joint press conference.
And this little Raul just let Obama have it.
He has called on Obama to lift even more restrictions on the blockade.
That's what the Castros call the embargo.
They call it the blockade.
Cuban people think there's actually Navy ships out there blockading anybody from getting into Cuba.
And then he demanded the return of Guantanamo Bay.
Here are the sound bites.
This is the first with Castro lecturing Obama that his efforts to remove the blockade have been insufficient.
Much more could be done if the U.S. blockade were lifted.
We recognize the position of President Obama and his administration against the blockade.
And his repeated appeals to Congress to have it removed.
The most recent measures adopted by his administration are positive.
But insufficient.
And Obama stands there and nods.
Jeez.
You know, folks, this the blockade.
Castro has told the poor Cuban people, ever since 1962, that the reason they're poor is the American blockade.
The only reason they do not have jobs, the only reason they do not have parts for their 57 Chevies, and the only reason why their buildings are falling apart.
I saw CNN did a stand-up report.
One of the reporters this morning is in have in Havana.
And I don't know what this guy was thinking, but he chose a position.
It looked out bombed out Beirut behind him.
He had a picture of Havana frame that would look like bombed out Beirut.
It just looked dilapidated and 60 years old, which it is.
Now normally these reporters would try to find some new hotel to stand in front of, or or some uh speakeasy little coffee shop or what have you.
But no, no, no, no.
They chose an absolute picture to frame this report in that made Havana look like it had been bombed back to the Stone Age.
You know, and there are a lot of Americans, but a lot of liberals who think that Raul Castro and Fidel are right that it's our blockade, the embargo, which has limited Cuba and deprived it of economic opportunity.
And here's the thing.
We are the only country in the world that does not trade with Cuba.
Well, the only major company.
I don't know what they do in Myanmar, and I don't know what Belize does.
But I can tell you that we are the only major company, country that does not trade with them.
And yet that is portrayed as the reason why the Cuban people are still living in poverty.
And of course it would make sense for the Castros to say this, they're not going to blame themselves, and they obviously are not going to blame communism.
They blame America for it for standing in the way.
But since they're able to trade with Saudi Arabia, they're able to trade with the UK, every nation in Europe, they trade with Canada, they trade with the Chicoms, they trade with everybody.
The only reason the Cuban people are poor is the Cuban government.
The only reason the Cuban people don't have any freedom or economic upward mobility is communism.
It is striking to have to still explain this.
It amazes me to think of the number of people to whom the truth and realities of communism is news that they've not heard before.
Here is Raul Castro now demanding that we give back Guantanamo Bay.
The blockade stands as the most important obstacle to our economic development and the well-being of the Cuban people.
That's why its removal will be of the essence to normalize bilateral relations.
And actually, it will also bring benefits to the Cuban emigres who wish the best for their families and their country.
In order to move forward towards normalization, it will also be necessary to return the territory illegally occupied by Guantanamo naval base.
Why don't you kick us off, Raul?
You're such a major power.
Why don't you kick us out of there?
If we're illegally occupying the Guantanamo base, just move in and senior military, kick us out.
But they can't.
But did you notice this little thing about immigrants?
And actually, it will also bring benefits to the Cuban immigrants who wish the best for their families and their co.
So he's making a pitch for amnesty he's joining Obama in his illegal amnesty push.
But right there he said it, the blockade stands as the most important obstacle to our economic development.
Really?
What a crocodile.
You know, there have been.
When did this?
This was uh this would have been 19.
There was a period of time in the first Clinton administration where the Clinton administration began talking about lifting the embargo.
I don't know that it was Bill Clinton per se.
He might have.
But there were others in his State Department who began to publicly talk about it.
And do you know what?
Any time that happened, and it wasn't just that one time.
There have been many instances in the last 30, 40 years where an American official here or there publicly speaks about the proposition it's time to leave or lift the embargo.
Do you know what Castro did in every instance?
The one involving the Clinton administration, he shot down a little Cessna 172, some charity flight, a flight was a private, I think it was a single-engine prop plane that was flying charity goods from somewhere to Cuba.
He shot it down.
Thereby stopping all talk of lifting the embargo.
The last thing they want is lifting the embargo.
If they lift, if the embargo is really totally lifted, they're out of excuses.
The Cuban people are not going to begin prospering.
The Cuban people are not going to experience upward economic mobility.
If we if we totally eliminate the embargo, it isn't going to happen.
Because it's still going to be a communist country.
And old Raul and his regime clearly know that.
His demanding the embargo be lifted is actually intended to make sure that it isn't.
Thank you.
What do you mean Russia doesn't make sense?
Yes, it does.
You get the president of the United States standing next to you.
Now, any other president, this would be true, with Obama, you don't know.
But if it's any other president standing next to him and he starts ridiculing the embargo, no president could then lift it after such a demand without appearing to be a total sellout.
A total coward.
Oh, you lift the embargo because this little communist tells you to.
Raul Castro knows that that's the the wrong way to get the embargo lifted to publicly demand it.
There's no way Obama can then go back and do it without people saying you're cowtowing to a little communist thug.
But that may not be applicable with Obama.
It's his last year in office, and he doesn't care about any of that.
So with Obama, it might work.
I don't know.
Uh anybody else.
That would be the fastest way to keep that embargo intact is to publicly demand that it be lifted.
Back after this, don't go away.
You know, it's kind of fun watching this press conference here with Obama and Raul Castro.
Raul Castro does not like this.
You know, in communist Cuba, the press doesn't get to do press conferences.
They go out, they make commandment speeches, whatever, and the press is then sent a memo with what to write.
And they do.
And here Obama has brought along the U.S. press, and Raul is routinely taking off his headphones and interrupting.
Uh clearly not familiar with this format here.
It looks a little irritated.
Well, Obama, of course, is in his element.
He's on the same soil that She Guevara once walked.
He's in the same soil occupied by Fidel Castro.
He's the first president since Calvin Coolidge to go to Cuba.
By the way, you know, I have to revise and extend my remarks.
I erred, I goofed up big mere moments ago.
I said that Raul Castro demanding that Obama lift the embargo with Obama standing there was the absolute worst way of going about it.
I forgot this is exactly how the Iranians did it.
The Iranians got their way with Obama by publicly demanding what they wanted, and he acquiesced.
John Kerry, too.
These guys are routinely humiliated by the Iranians, and now we've got a nuke deal with them.
And I want to remind you again, you know, Hillary Clinton's out there trashing Trump on his stance of neutrality in negotiations between Israel and Palestine.
By the way, there's a there's a big poll of Israeli Jews that shows Donald Trump is the most popular American political Republican, I think I don't have it in front of me.
What is he?
He's clearly the most popular Republican running in the race among Israeli Jews.
I don't know if it's all politicians are just Republicans, but he's got good poll members there is the bottom line.
The Hillary at APAC today said that she would in no way be neutral.
You can't be neutral and support Israel and so forth.
And my reaction to that is you can't support the Iranian nuclear deal and be pro-Israel.
Which, of course, she and Obama and John Kerry have.
And I think that's a far greater indication of what you think of Israel.
You know, what are your size...
Do a deal granting the Iranians nuclear weapons.
So much mind boggling going on.
Okay, folks, that's it.
Great start to brand new week of broadcast excellence.
A couple of uh primaries.
Utah Arizona tomorrow we'll be on top of.
And whatever else happens between now and when we next get back.
Thanks for being with us today, folks.
