It is the fastest three hours in media, a program that meets and surpasses all audience expectations every day.
It is this one, hosted by me, Rush Linboard.
And it's the EIB network.
Happy to have you back.
Telephone number if you want to be on the program's 800-282-2882.
Okay, so I'm sitting here during the break.
I did not get up and I go anywhere.
I just sat here and contemplated.
I have the televisions on.
I got I've got Fox and CNN on, but I did not turn the audio on.
I'm just watching.
And then I occasionally turn to the computer and checked something there.
And it just hit me.
Now it's no great revelation.
It just hit me as I'm watching TV and looking at the graphics on the screen.
Like CNN right now.
FBI investigating gunman's travel ties to terror, believed to be have met wife in Saudi Arabia here on Fiancé K1 Visa.
And I don't know, folks.
I'm sure I'm not unique in this.
I'm just telling you, it just hit me the utter futility in watching all of these people trying to deny what this is.
It is uh almost indescribable to me what we know, what is incontrovertibly true, what is inarguably true, and yet I'm watching people go to some of the most contorted lengths imaginable to deny it or to avoid having to admit it.
In the process, if we're not careful, we are going to be the authors of our own defeat by failing to recognize what is happening to us at the moment, not what might happen, not what all this portends, but what is happening and has been happening on an intense basis since September 11, 2001.
And all of the efforts that are that are being made and going into denying it.
It just hit me how utterly futile that is and dangerous.
And a couple of other emotions at the at the same time.
Incredulity.
And part of me can't stop laughing about it.
I mean, it's so ridiculous.
Most of this is being perpetrated by people in the media and and elected Democrats and the law enforcement people are pretty cool in this.
I'm I think they're doing their best.
Even some of them, however, are for some reason terribly afraid to publicly say what we all know.
And this fear, which is what it is to say, to articulate what we all know.
Could be the ruination of us.
It's the same kind of thing that's happening on the college campuses today.
We know what that is.
We know how absurd it is.
We know it needs to be shut down.
Some people just need to be spanked.
Some people need to be told to grow up.
We are coddling the wrong people.
For the wrong reasons.
Way too many Americans think that we deserve this, that we are guilty of something or a bunch of something.
Many of them are Democrats that think we are owed this.
We deserve this.
What this kind of stuff feels like.
Because we have been responsible for so many people feeling the same way.
Thank you.
And I take it all in, and it's just perverted and sick.
And very sobering and frightening to realize how many people apparently do not feel confident enough in their love for this country to stand up and proclaim that it needs to be defended and protected.
We've all heard the stories about Neville Chamberlain and people with their head in the sands before the Nazis got into full gear and demonstrated what everybody, or many people at the time knew their intentions were.
It just seems like this is a repetitive thing, part of human nature, to for whatever reason deny what's right in front of your face.
And not just about this.
I mean parents with troubled kids last to admit it in many cases.
For whatever reasons.
This just happens to be happening on a on a grand national scale.
But as I said, there are other things happening out there.
And while I could spend the remainder of the program on San Bernardino and related items, I want to move on to some of these other things because I don't want to have this incident be something that totally distracts us.
So we're going to go to the audio sound bites here.
You people, regular listeners, are well aware of the audio soundbite that we've been playing since 2008, periodically, of Charlie Rose and Tom Brokaw on the Charlie Rose show a couple days before the election in 2008, discussing amongst themselves how little they know about Barack Obama.
And yet urging everybody to support him and elect him, even though they're admitting to each other they don't know a thing about him.
They don't know who he is, they don't know what he's read, they don't know who influences him.
But it'd be better than McCain.
Well, apparently Charlie has heard about this.
Because today, or actually it was last night on Bloomberg television's with all due respect.
That's John Heilman and Mark Halprin.
Charlie Rose was their guest, and they were talking about the presidential campaign.
And Halpern says, here's another attempt at a Charlie Rose style question.
Having just spent 45 minutes with Hillary Clinton, knowing her as you do, what do you wonder about her now, Charlie?
I wonder.
I once got criticized along with Tom Brokaw, my good friend, because we said we didn't really know a lot about Barack Obama.
My friend Rush Limbaugh jumped all over that for five years.
Seven, Charlie.
It's been it's been it's been seven years.
But then he goes on to list all the things that he doesn't know about Bill and Hillary, even though he's known them for 30 years.
And he says he doesn't know her narrative for the race.
Listen.
I think the thing I don't know about her is, you know, she has moved to the left a little bit here, you know.
I don't I'm not sure that I know I think she is essentially and has been mostly a centrist politician most of her life, as has her husband.
I don't know where they differ.
The thing I most wonder about is what his role would be as well.
Do you think she now has a story to tell, a compelling story till she knows what that story is?
I don't.
You don't.
I don't know what that narrative is.
She may, but I don't think I know yet.
You know, this is stunning to me.
This guy has make a career out of saying I don't know.
It's just the most amazing thing to me.
I couldn't get away with this.
He's known him for 30 years.
He's voted for him every chance he's got, he doesn't know.
After he acknowledges that I have had a little fun with him and Brokaw, claiming they didn't know anything about Obama, he goes and repeats it with Hillary.
And then what he does know is wrong.
She was a centrist most.
She's she's Hilary Alinsky is who she is.
She's never been a centrist.
She doesn't know where the center is.
Well, I think the thing I don't know about her is uh she's moved to the left a little bit here.
You know, I don't, I'm not sure that I know.
I think she's essentially and has been mostly a centrist most of her life, as has her husband.
But I don't know.
I don't know where they differ.
The thing I most wonder about is what his role will be.
I don't know.
I just don't know.
And this in Charlie's world equals sophisticated brilliance.
Oh, yeah, in a minute.
But this is this is this is folks, this is this is how you gain accreditation in in this world.
I don't know.
I really don't.
I think that's uh but but but I I don't I don't know.
I it's it's it's really not sure.
I I've looked long and hard and I've dug deeper.
I just I don't know.
Man, you are so brilliant.
Yes, I love Charlie.
I'm gonna have a little fun here with Charlie, but I'm I'm I'm I'm telling you, I I'm I marvel at this.
Here's the first bite against Snerdly is demanding to hear audio soundbite number one again.
So he's asked a question here by Mark Calperin.
Having just been 45 minutes with Hillary Clinton, knowing her as you do.
What do you wonder about her now?
What a question.
It's the blind leading the blind.
Anyway, here's what Charlie said.
I wonder.
I once got criticized along with Tom Brokaw, my good friend, because we said we didn't really know a lot about Barack Obama.
My friend Rush Limbaugh jumped all over that for five years.
Five years, seven years.
Here is that sound bite, October 30th, 2008, PBS, the Charlie Rose show, I don't know.
I don't know what Barack Obama's worldview is.
No, I don't know.
I don't know how he really sees where China is.
We don't know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy.
I don't really know.
And do we know anything about the people who are advising them?
You know, it's an interesting question.
He is principally known through his autobiography and through very aspirational speeches.
I don't know what books he's read.
What do we know about the heroes of Barack Obama?
There's a lot about him we don't know.
Sorry, folks.
You tune into these shows to find things out, and the people running these shows tell you they don't know anything.
I don't know what books he's an interesting question.
I don't know who's uh inspired him outside of his aspirational speech.
It's an interesting question.
I really don't know.
Well, what did Charlie say about San Bernardino?
Well, we have that.
Uh that was this morning on CBS this morning.
It's audio soundbite number four.
There is nothing this morning to explain why a married couple carried out a deadly shooting rampage.
Fourteen people were killed Wednesday, and another 17 injured.
I just don't know why he did it.
There's just nothing this morning to explain why a married couple carried out a deadly shooting.
That's who they were?
A married couple.
I just don't know.
And then, move on now to snowbite number six.
Later on on CNN's New Day, during a report about yesterday's San Bernardino shooting, the co-host Michaela Pereira reported this.
It's the question on everybody's mind.
What would lead a young married couple with a baby to go on a shooting rampage?
Okay, so Charlie Rose on CBS this morning, Michaela Pereira on CNN this morning.
Apparently a memo went out to all of the early morning network shows.
And the memo said the thing to say here is what would lead a young married couple to start shooting people.
So that was today's gravitas.
Somebody sent them out with the marching order.
Somebody told them that the narrative This morning was what would make a married couple go on a shooting rampage.
Charlie Rowe's exact words why a married couple carried out a deadly shooting rampage.
Michaela Pereira CNN.
What would lead a young married couple with a baby to go on a shooting rampage?
Isn't it remarkable how no matter what network you watch, you hear almost verbatim?
The same thing.
I mentioned uh ladies and gentlemen last night as I was watching cable news.
I I really I started getting frustrated at the just the this the futile efforts these people were making to avoid mentioning the name when they all knew it.
And I know why they were waiting.
They were hoping that somebody would come up with an explanation that would make this nothing to do with Islam.
So they were wringing their hands and talking about how delicate the situation was and how careful they as journalists must before they announce the name.
And I'm watching this, I'm sending notes back and forth for friends and mine.
So you watching this?
Can you believe this?
We put a montage of it together for you.
Right now, as being very, very careful in terms of reporting any sort of a name.
We're not saying the name.
We're not saying the name.
We have a name, and the name is obviously a name that was on the uh police band, and it isn't uh a Muslim name, an Arab name.
So we're gonna wait.
We take a deep breath.
We have this information tonight about a name that was out there that may have been a foreign name.
We're not saying this name of this person.
We've been told a name, at least I have, for about four hours.
Well, we're not gonna tell you what the name of the name is gonna be very delicate situation.
You can't tell you what anyone is gonna be very, very careful because it's very insightful because of what's happening around the world.
We can't tell you what the name is, we know what the name is.
We can't tell you we're gonna hold it back because we're waiting.
It went off for three hours.
And do we have time for one more?
Now I better take a break here, so I've got a decent amount of time left on the other side.
So we'll be right back here, folks.
Hang in there.
Don't go away.
I hear you got to hear this.
I know I said I was going to move on.
I promise.
I'm going to move on to next F.R. You gotta hear this is just in.
This is Farid Zakaria GPS.
Fareed Zakaria Global Positioning Satellite.
Talking with Wolf Blitzer on CNN.
Wolf Blitzer says to Fareed Zakaria, Global Positioning Satellite, says, A story like this, Fareed...
A horrible mass murder in San Bernardino.
What kind of message does that send around the world?
Now imagine your mindset.
Here you're Wolf Blitzer, you're working at CNN, we've done this massive act of terror last night, and you're asking this guy Farid Zakari, oh my God, what does this say about us to the rest of the world, Fareed?
Oh my God, what does the rest of the world think about us?
No.
And this is what Farid Zakaria GPS said.
The rest of the world looks at this as the one element of America that they find truly baffling.
Because you know, there are other elements where more religious than other industrialized countries, but that they understand.
They used to be more religious themselves.
There are other countries that are more religious.
With gun violence, the United States is essentially alone in the world.
There is no other country that has anything remotely approaching the kind of violence we do.
The only country that comes even close is Yemen, which is essentially a war zone.
So they look at this and they really can't understand it, and they don't understand how we put up with it.
So Fareed Zakaria GPS happens to know what the world thinks of the United States, and furthermore, considers himself qualified to tell Wolf Blitzer and everybody else watching what the world thinks of us.
And what they think of us is they don't understand all the guns.
And it's just the religion, the rest of the world will tolerate that because they used to be.
But the guns, they just don't understand it at all.
And so Wolf fires back and says But in this particular case, as you correctly point out, the shooter who's now dead together with his wife Tashfin Malik, they apparently were Radicalized, if you will, we don't know exactly how Wolf wonders how the radicalization happened.
The world is looking down on us for it, according to Farid Zakaria GPS, who has his own show on CNN called Farid Zakaria GPS.
Uh you don't want to you know the truth about some of these incidents.
The truth is that had some of the people in that disability center yesterday had some guns, this may not have happened.
And in fact, I've got a story here.
Detroit police chief guns are keeping terrorists from attacking our city.
And there are a number of other stories out there today.
Other law enforcement, all licensed handgun owners urged to carry in New York County.
Slowly but surely, some reasonable people are figuring out here that one of the reasons these incidents are happening is because they're soft targets.
People are casing the joint, so to speak, and they're finding out that there's no gun opposition anywhere near, and therefore it's smooth sailing.
You want to wipe a bunch of people out, you'll be able to get away with it because there's nobody with a gun to stop you.
Anyway, Farid Zakari and his old interpretation of the world of what they think of us offends me.
Okay, back to the phones and go, Victorville, California.
This is uh Dan.
Thank you for calling, sir.
It's great to have you.
Hi.
Hi, Rush.
Honor to be on your show.
Appreciate it.
I had a question for you, sir.
Uh as soon as the shooting happened, before we knew anything about them, Mr. Obama decided to put out a press release saying that it's because of guns and terrorists can't get on planes because we can put them on a no-fly list, but wouldn't you think somebody who had 12 pipe bombs and 11 IEDs in their garage would be on this no-fly list, but we know he flew to Saudi Arabia.
Well, you know, this no-fly list argument.
That's been something that has I may be looking at this the wrong way, but that has been very, very curious to me.
Because Obama's been out there acting like he'd not in charge of anything here.
And this is the limbaugh theorem.
Once again, who's in charge of the no-fly list?
His administration.
And we know full well the no-fly list has oftentimes caught people who pose no danger whatsoever.
The no-fly list has kept people grounded and has caused them great harm and damage as a result.
Totally innocent people end up on that list, and by the same token, real threats somehow don't end up on it.
Innocent people do, and and potentially guilty people don't.
But Obama talking about this is as though he's not president and he's got nothing to say about it.
And he's wondering about my my question, his his point about the no fly list is how can somebody uh if you're on a no-fly list, you shouldn't be able to be get a gun.
Well, they can't tell us that their no-fly list is perfect.
These people, the federal government, who did I say make this so make this point?
It was uh It was Calstrom last night.
The former FDI director in the New York office is making the point here that the federal government just can't do computer technology.
They can't run computer systems.
The no fly list, you name it, they botch it.
They spend billions of dollars on these things and they don't work, and people in the private sector spend hundreds of thousands and have flawless systems.
But this argument, how can somebody what would Obama say the no-fly list?
Somebody uh somebody on a no-fly list can get a gun.
How can I?
Because, Mr. President, somewhere in your regime, somebody's not connecting the dots.
How is that the fault of anybody else?
That that whole argument has been has had me in somewhat of a state of disbelief.
It's a non sequitur anyway.
We're not talking about as as as old Dan here said, this guy had pipe bombs and IEDs.
And he had military type weaponry and ammo in his garage.
He did not have gun show specials and stuff in there.
Traditional gun control would have had no impact on this guy.
He would have never encountered gun control laws.
This is just, it's so absurd.
It's it's it's ridiculous.
This is the kind of stuff that just insults our intelligence.
But speaking of Obama, may I remind you that it was just last week prior to Thanksgiving that Obama assured us that there were no known threats.
You remember.
So here we have Barack Hussein, oh, President United States assuring everybody, feel free, get on those airplanes, get in the trains, get in your car, go wherever you want to go because there are no known threats.
Why?
Because I have vanquished Al Qaeda, and I have contained ISIS, and all these terrorists are on the run, and he has said that over and over again.
Meanwhile, ISIS is not contained.
Obama's former director, the defense intelligence agent came out yesterday.
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff said, no, ISIS isn't contained.
One of Obama's own employees basically told Obama to know what he was talking about.
ISIS is not contained.
By the way, ISIS is throwing parties and celebrating what happened in San Bernardino.
I don't think they've claimed any credit for it.
But that but they're but they're celebrating it.
So Obama's you know wailing and moaning here about the no fly list.
What?
To me, if if a if somebody on the no fly list can get a gun, then why are they on the no fly list?
But the whole point is you are the guy that runs these computer systems.
You're the guy with the input.
You're the guy that runs the data systems, and if you can't run them, and we know you can't because of the Obamacare website.
But we live in this world now where way too many low information voters think the government's infallible.
government can't do anything wrong, and even if it does do something wrong, the government wants to fix it.
The You know that these clowns in Boston, the Sonarebs, they were on the no-fly list.
Did you know that?
I wonder if Obama knows that.
The Boston bombers were on the no-fly list.
It didn't stop them from from arming up.
Didn't stop them from being able to set off bombs.
And they didn't have to violate any gun control laws to get the kind of weaponry they used.
This is what I mean by the state of utter denial that we're in.
I mean, we know exactly who's doing what to us.
And for some reason, people at the highest levels of power want to sit there and deny it and try to tell us that we're wrong when we notice it.
Anyway, look, I I have um one two.
Basically, two things about the presidential campaign and some other little things here.
Uh Yahoo and Katie Currick not looking good that I want to get to as well.
That have nothing to do with San Bernardino.
Well, not directly anyway.
And let's in fact, I mentioned this one toward the tail end of the program yesterday when I was first made aware of it.
There is a secret memo.
Super secret, top secret memo that everybody has seen.
National Republican Senatorial Committee.
Secret memo on what to do if Trump is the nominee.
The Senate Republican campaign arm has a contingency plan in case Donald Trump wins the GO!
Oh, oh, hang on.
Reminds me of something else I've got in the sound bites here.
There's yet more evidence.
Here it is.
Grab sound bites twenty-two and twenty-three.
Before I forget this, before I start talking myself out of time to play it, Trump continues to be validated here on this Muslim celebrating business.
Dan Rather.
This is the David Letterman show, September 17th, 2001.
Letterman says, are they now joyous?
Meaning the Islamists, the jihadists.
Are they joyous now?
Are they celebrating now, Dan?
Oh, absolutely.
They're celebrating.
There's one report.
This has not been confirmed, but there's several reports.
There was a cell, one of these cells across the Hudson River.
And they got on the this is the report.
I emphasize I don't know this for a fact, but there's several witnesses who say this happened.
They got on the roof of the building to look across.
They knew what was going to happen.
They were waiting for it to happen.
And when it happened, they celebrated.
No.
No.
Okay, so you have this now.
So Trump could have seen this.
This is Letterman.
This is September 17th.
This is six days after 9-11.
You could have had, you got the New York Post story, the Washington Post story, all kinds of people talking about Pablo Guzman, eyeball news to New York, with a report on the rooftop celebrating.
Apparently there was all kinds of media about the about the uh Islamists celebrating 9-11.
All kinds of it.
And Trump's all he's done is the I saw it, I saw it.
And the and the drive-by's and their fact checkers of no, no, no, it didn't happen because we didn't report it.
It didn't happen.
We've searched our archives.
We don't have any reports of any celebrating, therefore it didn't happen.
And yeah, they keep surfacing.
And of all people, Dan Rather.
The problem is he made so much stuff up, we don't know.
I'm just kidding.
Well, a little.
But the interview with Letterman uh continued.
Letterman said, have we made mistakes that we should not have made?
Meaning, hey, Dan, do we kind of deserve this?
I mean, they're out there celebrating.
Dan, did we do something to tick them off?
Dan, did we screw up here?
Did we do things we shouldn't have done?
And that's why they did this.
We ended the Gulf War probably 24 hours too soon.
We now know that.
Saddam Hussein, if he isn't connected to this, he's connected to any other things.
He's part of this hate America thing.
We have to wake up.
It's a new, it's a new place now, and we're headed to a new place, David.
You know, America the beautiful.
Who can sing now with the same meaning we had before of one stanza that goes, Oh beautiful for Patriots dream.
It sees beyond the years.
Dynamester cities gleam, undimmed by human tears.
We can never say that song again that way.
David, you've been terrific happy on tonight.
I'm so sorry for this.
Well, there you have it.
So um, you know what's noteworthy about this, aside from Dan being overcome by his own emotion.
Saddam Hussein.
Saddam Hussein might not have had anything to do with this, but he's part of the hate America thing.
So in the immediate aftermath 9-11, even the leftists in the media were saying, Yeah, there was a hate America crowd out there, and look at how look at how quickly they all turned.
Look at all these leftists, and we chronicled it at the time.
In the immediate aftermath 9-11, they wanted on board.
They wanted to be part of the patriotic part of America, they wanted to be part of We Love the Country Too, and it didn't take them three weeks before they started whining and moaning, and Bush wasn't responding soon enough.
But here's Dan Rather.
Well, David, we know Saddam Hussein, if he isn't connected to this, he's connected to many other things.
Part of his Hate America thing.
But no, we can't sing America's Beautiful.
We never get the hell we can't.
What do you mean we can't sing it?
What is All right?
This look, this Republican super secret memo on what to do if Trump's a nomination or the nominee.
This is hugely important, and I'm gonna save it for tomorrow for open line Friday.
Because there's a couple things that go with it, and it really misses the point.
And I've been working something up on Trump anyway, and and how it is the media can't touch him.
And it's crucially important, and I explained this in a right way.
I've been I've been working on this, so tomorrow be the day I'm gonna try to Explain this to you is it's really, really key.
And it would be something anybody could could conceivably do that has to deal with the media.
Just remove them from the equation.
That's essentially what Trump has done.
And it's masterful.
And I'm going to illustrate that along with a super secret memo what the Republican Party's planning to do because Trump has just got them totally befuddled, but I want to go out here with a sound bite.
I'm going to save this too, because I already mentioned this.
I want to get a call.
This guy's been waiting a long time and it's good.
It's uh it's Mike in Holly Hills, Florida.
Mike, I'm glad you waited.
Welcome to the program, sir.
Hello.
Thank you, Rush.
Diddos.
You bet.
Russia has two things to say before we get to my point.
First, thank you because you let my wife know that she was conservative.
Well, and that was a wonderful thing.
Happy to help.
It was great.
That's big.
It's really big.
For years we would I'd have you on the radio in the office, offices in the house, and she'd gripe about you, gripe about it.
She's a mail carrier.
That's great.
Then uh she out on the mail route, she couldn't get any station except you, and so she was used to listening to it.
And what job you did, my man, thank you very much.
Happy to help.
You better get to your point because time is the point is this.
Uh your point about the people arming up is exactly true.
I'm a firearms instructor.
Been been inactive for about a year since this attack yesterday.
I've had three different groups of people call me to ask for firearms instruction license.
People that are going to arm up.
So the president's tell t call to for taking our guns is exactly the opposite of what's really happening.
Anecdotally, people are arming up, not disarming, and they're not going to be disarmed by this president, I don't believe.
Oh no, they won't put up with it.
In fact, every time the president talks about it, gun sales reach new records.
He has to know that, by the way.
Every time he alludes to the need for more gun control laws, what happens?
People flock to gun shows and gun stores, and they start stocking up.
And they call people like you.
They want lessons.
They want to get permits.
Some cases concealed carry permits are tough to do, but some people want them.
And it's a uh it's a natural reaction here.
The soundbite I had was the sheriff of the police department, uh, the police chief listing all the weapons they found in the house in San Bernardino, which I had mentioned earlier, but it's an incredibly long list, but there just isn't time.
Darn it.
I'm sorry.
Okay, folks, you don't need to listen to anything else the rest of the day.
We covered it all here.
There's nothing left for you to know, and certainly no other opinion that you need because you've had it all here today.
