Welcome to today's edition of The Rush 24-7 Podcast.
You know, I actually don't know where to start today.
I mean, I uh it's overload.
I miss one day, and it just it's this is an editing nightmare today.
I mean, there's so much literally so much stuff here.
So the best I can tell you is we can't do everything here in the opening segment, folks.
So you're just gonna have to hang in there and be tough and trust.
And we'll get to all that matters.
If I don't talk about it, it's not worth knowing.
You can always trust that too.
Great to be back, 800 282-2882 if you want to be on the program, the email address, L Rushbow at EIB net.com.
So I'm going through the audio sound bites today.
One of the things that I I uh made a point to do, and I find out that I'm the only guy in America that has a problem with the Pope.
As I Yeah, I mean, and and every sound bite I have here, regarding where I am mentioned, is filled with inaccuracy after inaccuracy after inaccuracy, things I've supposedly said.
And uh and about some other things too.
So there's that on the edge of which Boehner, of course, and the aftermath of that.
Uh the Pope's visit concluding, interesting, interesting anecdote to tell you about that, to give you an indication.
Remember point I made on Thursday, uh, which I think is a profound point, because it relates to how we attempt to educate people, how to inform people.
You know, one of my quests here from the beginning has been to inform people, educate people, sort of train people, if you will, to spot liberalism.
The belief that liberalism is the source of the vast majority of our problems, clearly not all, but the vast majority, liberals and liberalism, and the more people trained to spot it, I think have always believed that it'd go a long way to go in defeating it.
I think it does need to be defeated.
And the left uh pulled off an amazing feat last week that I commented on on Thursday, and I've got a little anecdote to build on it.
And the point I made last week was, okay, here you have Pope Francis, who is traveling the world enunciating clearly, I don't care what you want to call me for pointing this out, but you have a Pope, the vicar of Christ, who's out articulating a left-wing agenda.
It's such a left-wing agenda that Obama has adopted it and is fact uh in fact hiding behind the Pope and using the Pope to advance his own agenda.
Just pointing that out causes people to throw daggers at me.
But here's the point, it's not just the Pope.
One of one of the quests that we've had here on this program is to try to get people, even now, even when he's supposedly in lame duck status, which isn't the case either, has been to try to instruct people on just how radical and how extreme Obama is and his agenda.
But how tough is that to do when Obama regularly co-opts the sp the Speaker of the House, when he co-opts the Republican leader in the Senate, McConnell, when he is able to co-opt the uh chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, and then finally added to that list, and there's many more on it, but you add to that list, here comes the Pope, Pope Francis.
I mean, these are all people considered to be not radical, not extreme, they're just mainstream people.
And it you realize how difficult it is to try to portray Obama as he really is for what he really is, the true radical extremist, when all of those other people appear to be at home with him and on the same team with him agenda-wise.
It's just really, really difficult.
It's almost impossible.
Talking about low information voters here.
It's almost impossible to try to tell people that Obama's this extreme leftist whose policies have wrought great harm to the when all these other supposedly mainstream people are on the on the same page with him.
It's really, really tough.
You just add the Pope to that, and it gets even tougher.
And it uh show you how it works.
I have a friend of mine who is every bit the conservative I am, who is probably more alarmed about Obama than even I have been, if you can believe that.
This guy constantly is telling me I'm not going far enough in my criticism of Obama and in my predictions of what all of this means.
He's not a kook, not a tinfoil hat guy.
He's constantly telling me that I need to go a little bit further than what I'm doing because there's more to be told than I am telling, and people need to know.
Blah, blah, blah.
So when this current Pope comes upon the scene, my friend sends me emails.
I don't talk to people on the phone because I can't, so it everything is by email or text message, what have you.
Says to me, look out for this guy.
And he's Catholic, but look out for this.
This is this is, and then he sounded all the usual warnings about how this guy is using the papacy to advance a left-wing economic and social cultural agenda.
He's very, very worried about it.
And he says, you need to keep people on and on up to speed on this blah, blah.
So apparently the Pope on the weekend, Friday night or Saturday, it was in Philadelphia and apparently delivered just one heck of a great, great speech about the declaration of independence in America and liberty.
And I get a note from this guy, my friend.
He says, you know what?
I may have been wrong.
I may have been wrong.
This guy gave what is Pope, he said, this guy, one of the best speeches I have ever seen.
I may have this guy sounds like Russia, he sounds like he totally gets it.
And he was just going on and on and on about how wonderful the Pope's speech was and how meaningful it was.
Speech at Independence Hall was respectful of the declaration, individualism, religious freedom, and my friends and maybe I got it wrong.
And I wrote back and I said, see, this is how difficult it is.
Even you now have been persuaded to abandon what you know to be true.
And I reminded him all of these months prior, where he's been warning me of all of these terrible left-wing things that are happening right in front of everybody's eyes that nobody's seeing.
He's warning me about the Pope being a wolf in sheep's clothing regarding a political agenda, as well as being Pope and so forth.
And in one speech that hit a home run, was able, that speech was able to make my friend forget everything he knew.
He sends me this note claiming he had gotten it all wrong.
So I wrote him back and I said, see, this is exactly how it happens.
Look at you.
And I reminded him, you've been warning me, you've been telling me I need to ramp it up.
You've been warning me that this Pope is disguising who he is with a left-wing agenda and so forth and so on.
One speech makes you forget all that.
And I said, now this is I said, I said, this is how it happens.
So because of that one speech that you heard the Pope give, you'll you've forgotten everything that he said during the week that you disagree with.
He said, Yeah, you're right.
You're right.
I guess that's why they pay you the big bucks.
But this is how it happens, folks.
This is this is why the co-opting of Boehner and McConnell has been so bad.
It's not just what Boehner and McConnell did or didn't do.
It is that they, by their actions and inactions, contributed to creating the illusion, and believe me it is, that Obama's a mainstream, harmless, certainly not a radical politician, when he is the most radical.
Elected president we have ever had.
Well, not elected, radical president, period, however, we've had presidents.
But when you have these so-called Republican mainstream leaders helping his agenda along, not opposing him, and in fact opposing what they call the crazies in their own party.
How can you expect low information voters to accept the premise That Obama's a radical.
How can you expect anybody to uh believe that with all this other evidence that seems to contradict it?
It just gets harder and harder and harder to do.
And I would remind you of the John O'Sullivan law.
And that is that any organization that is not demonstrably conservative day in and day out will become liberal.
It just does.
If someone or a group is not actively conservative, practicing it, enforcing it, do it whatever it takes every day, they will become liberal.
And this is what's happened to the Republican Party in a sense.
So now Obama's up in the UN today, and he basically spelled out what he intends to do for the rest of this term.
There's so much fraud.
You know, there's uh Snerdly came in and what's this NASA news?
Is NASA news all exciting?
He said, Yeah, they found flowing water up there.
No kidding!
Wow!
Wow, Snerd Lee said, Flowing water on Mars.
I said, why is that excite you?
What do you go in there next week?
What's the big deal about flowing water on Mars?
I don't know, ma'am.
It's just it just wow.
I said, you know what?
When they start selling iPhones on Mars, that's when it'll matter to me.
I said, what do you think they're gonna do with this news?
I said, look at the temperature data that has been reported by NASA, has been made up, it's fraudulent for however however many years.
There isn't any warming, there hasn't been for 18 and a half years, and yet they're lying about it.
They're just making up the amount of ice at the North and South Poles, they're making up the temperatures, they're lying and making up false charts and so forth.
So what's to stop them from making up something that happened on Mars that will help advance their left-wing agenda on this planet?
And Snerdly thought, oh yeah, you're right.
You know, when I play golf with excellent golfers, I ask them, does it ever get boring playing well?
Does it ever get boring hitting shot after shot where you want to hit it?
And they all look at me and smile and they say, never.
Well, folks, it never gets boring being right either, like I am.
But it doesn't mean it it is any less frustrating.
Being right and being alone is a challenging existence.
Okay, so there's flowing water on Mars.
Yep, yep, yep, yep, yahoo.
Hey, you know me.
I'm science 101, big time guy, tech advance it, you know it, I'm all in.
But NASA has been corrupted by the current regime.
I want to find out what they're gonna tell us.
Okay, flowing water on Mars, if we're even to believe that, what are they gonna tell us that means?
That's what I'm gonna wait for.
Because I guarantee you, let's just wait and see.
This is September 28.
Let's just wait and see.
Don't know how long it's gonna take, but this news that there is flowing water on Mars is somehow going to find its way into a technique to advance the leftist agenda.
I don't know what it is.
I would assume it would be something to do with global warming, and you can maybe there was once an advanced civilization.
If they say they found flowing water, next they're gonna find a graveyard.
And then they're gonna be able to say in the graveyard is a is it is a dead advanced civilization?
What killed them?
Global, well, who knows?
This is a bit, of course, of extreme exaggeration, but this is what happens.
How many of you remember from the Pope's visit a five-year-old girl approaching the Pope, begging him to keep talking about illegal immigration and immigrants and so forth?
How many of you have seen that story?
You saw the video of it, how many of you are aware of it?
For those of you who are, understand it was a setup.
The five-year-old girl was rehearsed.
The whole thing was planned out.
It's nothing more than a deep public relations campaign.
And so each and every day we are challenged here with just the daily news and trying to determine which of it is real, and how much of it is totally fraudulent and made Up in order to advance a particular political agenda.
That cannot be denied.
Yeah, you know, real question: are the waters on Mars rising or falling?
Now that we've discovered flowing water, are the levels rising or falling?
It's wide open.
You I know you might think that I'm a little bit off the beaten path here.
Fine and dandy.
You've thought that let's just wait and see, give it some time, and I'm telling you this is going to find its way into the left-wing science agenda, which is another element of our life or aspect that has been corrupted.
And by corrupted, I mean what is real is being masked or hidden and is instead being lied about.
Okay, so we've got that.
We've got Trump.
The news on Trump is that he and Carson are pulling dead even now, almost.
It's a Wall Street Journal report.
Carson continues to rise on the basis of his comments about a Muslim president and how he wouldn't support one if they did not place the Constitution first.
The drive-by media paid some attention, they're all ecstatic that Trump has leveled off.
They think that it's peaked that he may even now be on the downside.
Trump today announced his tax plan.
And already I'm getting emails from Rush, oh my God, oh my, this is the worst day of my life.
I just look at Trump's track tax plan, and it's just like Obama's.
I said, it is?
Yeah.
Well, you see it.
It's just like Obama's.
Tax the rich, no taxes for the middle classes.
I'll look into it.
Don't make up your mind until I've had a chance to go through it.
I'll tell you what to think about it as I always do.
Uh we've got uh well, all of the ramifications of Boehner resigning and all of people weighing in on why.
A lot of people wanting to take credit for this.
Uh, others are looking forward to what it now means.
Kevin McCarthy going to be the new speaker, is that going to make any difference?
Mitch McConnell now is next in the crosshairs.
I I it's it's clear that the conservatives in Congress, in the House of Representatives, engineered this.
But it's like I also told Snerdley, did you?
I folks I really hate being a font here of pessimism, because I'm not a pessimist.
I'm not I'm not negative at all.
But how excited should we be to get rid of the guy after the damage has been done?
I mean, we want to take credit.
Everybody knew it was it's been widely understood now that as soon as Boehner got his day with Pope Francis, that was the bucket list being completed, that was it, then he could retire.
And in fact, many of the conservative caucus are telling us that Boehner had agreed to go months ago and negotiated to hold on through the Pope, which they permitted to happen.
So anyway, that's a brief setting of the table.
There's still much more out there besides all these subjects, plenty of stuff.
I can't wait to get to all of it with you when we get back.
So don't go away.
So here we go, already in the email.
What do you mean the five-year-old girl that gave the Pope that it was fake?
Look, a Los Angeles-based pro-illegal immigration group trained a five-year-old girl who approached approached Pope Francis during his parade in Washington for a photo op to promote amnesty.
Sophie Cruz, it's even in the Washington Post.
This is a Breitbart story.
But in the Washington Post of all places, Alicia Flores, executive director of uh La Hermanidad in Los Angeles said that the group chose Sophie to approach the Pope after a similar plan worked in Rome, involving another young girl.
Raul Cruz, who came to the U.S. ten years ago, then agreed to let his daughter partake in the plan so the Pope could hear their message.
In other words, this was a stunt, and it was organized by immigration advocacy groups that have tried to do the same thing and did do the same thing back in Rome.
This girl and her family were flown to Washington as part of a group of six children and 19 adults with the hope of delivering their message on immigration.
Now, uh the point are you seriously criticizing a five?
No, folks, I'm not crit-I'm just telling you that what you saw did not spontaneously happen.
A five-year-old girl didn't find miraculously her way to the Pope's parade and didn't coincidentally get close enough to the Pope to be able to hand him a message that she at age five personally crafted.
The whole thing was the result of rehearsals.
The little girl was chosen for the mission.
It was made to look real.
It was meant to tug people's heartstrings, it was meant to soften opposition to illegal immigration, and it worked as designed, but none of it was genuine.
It was all a stunt.
And I only tell you this because this is how people on that side of the political aisle engineer things and how things get corrupted, and people think what is real isn't or isn't real is.
The Rush Limbaugh and the excellence in broadcasting network.
Okay, I now have in my nicotine, formerly nicotine-stained fingers, the uh Trump tax plan, complete with some Trump excerpts about the tax plan, the sound bites, and we will get to that here in just a second.
I just need to do some veiner stuff here.
Oh, by the way, thanks to uh thanks to Buck Sexton for uh for being here on Friday.
This is how at the Value Voters uh summit in Washington, it's held every year toward the end of September.
Marco Rubio was speaking and actually made the announcement to the crowd.
This is how it sounded.
How can it be that we sent a Republican majority to Congress?
And yet they're still not able to stop our country from sliding in the wrong direction.
And we'll see how things progress.
Just a few minutes ago, Speaker Boehner announced that he will be resigning.
Now that applause went on and on and on and on and on, and it was uh it was over the top.
And this is something that a number of people have been attempting to make happen for months now, uh, going into into years.
And as is the usual case in the aftermath of something like this, there's all kinds, there are all kinds of stories.
And they run the gamut from who made it happen, who gets credit for it, who engineered it, why did it happen, uh, what does it mean going forward, and uh and all of that.
Uh the uh the the most important aspect of this to me is that whoever is responsible for this is not through.
They are actually going now to target Mitch McConnell on the on the same basis.
Now, from from what I understand, Ted Cruz was deeply involved in this.
Um to tell a long story very short, Cruz became aware very soon upon arriving at the Senate that he was going to have a tough time making a difference there because he was so outnumbered and because the leadership was so entrenched.
And the leadership in the Senate, just like the leadership in the House, for w and we've been through all the reasons.
I mean, I take the time to list them again, just was not going to stop Obama.
They weren't even going to try to make it look like they were going to stop Obama, except to people they were not telling the truth to at election time, us.
They were apparently very willing to tell us that they were going to do everything they could to stop Obamacare to reveal Obamacare.
I mean, you you know the drill.
But never once did anything serious ever happen to derail, stop, slow down any aspect of the Obama agenda.
Now, the reasons for that are also multifaceted, and we've been through all of them.
But folks, the big reason for all of this is money.
At the end of the day, it's always about money.
It always has been about money in politics.
It's just more prevalent now than ever.
Do you know why we did the Iran deal, just for example?
Do you know why there isn't why the corker bill exists as it does?
Do you never any serious effort to stop Obama in making the Iran deal?
Do you have any idea?
It was money.
There was a news story, I think it was the UK Daily Mail.
If not, it was something similar.
The Iranian national airline, such as it is, is falling apart.
Their aircraft are old, dilapidated, and because the sanctions have been in place, they've been unable to buy new aircraft, replacement aircraft, or parts to repair what they have now.
So basically their national airline is a joke.
They in Iran, the mullahs, have ordered a number of replacement aircraft made by Boeing.
Boeing therefore wants the deal.
But in order for the deal to happen, 150 billion dollars in frozen Iranian assets needs to be unfrozen.
Now Boeing is a contributor to the Republican Party.
I wish I could remember what newspaper I read this in.
On the top of my head, I think it's a Daily Mail, but it it might very easily could be something else.
But the bottom line was that Republican politicians, elected officials, basically had to please a very well to do donor, series of donors that were going to be able to engage in new business with Iran if the sanctions were lifted.
And if you look at the Corker Bill, the Corker Bill really all it was about was lifting the sanctions by statute.
Now, this is very important.
The Corker Bill secured the sanctions being lifted by statute.
You know, I was watching the last Republican debate.
It was an exchange between Ted Cruz and I think it was Kasik.
And Kasich, they were having an argument about what you do if Iran cheats on the deal.
And Cruz was making it very clear that we were never going to find out if Iran cheated because they were in total control of the inspection process.
And they are.
If we want to lodge a complaint, it's 24 days before we can take action, and they have to grant us permission to come in.
But they, the Iranians, by virtue of this deal, do their own inspection first.
So it's a joke.
There is no inspection process.
There's no verification whatsoever.
And Kasich was saying to crews, look, if they violate it, we just slap the sanctions back on them.
And I'm yelling at the TV, no, we can't slap the sanctions back on them.
They have been lifted by statute.
The sanctions have not been lifted temporarily, and they've not been lifted per se as part of the deal.
They have been lifted by virtue of the corker bill, which is a statutory law.
Now the statutes have thus maintained that the Iranians are going to get their 150 billion dollars, whether they cheat or not.
And so the Iranian nuclear deal, when it comes to the debate in Washington, never really was about Iran and nuclear weapons.
It was about money, economic news.
It was about American corporations, and Boeing's not the only one that want to do business with Iran.
And when Iran's got 150 billion dollars freed up, it's been frozen.
They can buy enough terrorism with that, have some left over to revamp their airline.
I'm gonna have to find out what this is uh it was Bloomberg that had this story.
It was it was uh it was Bloomberg News that had the story that it was Boeing and Airbus, Airbus combined that wanted to make a deal with Iran on new aircraft for this dilapidated Iranian airline.
Now, all the while this debate's raging, we are treated to story after story that the parameters of the debate center on whether or not it makes sense that Iran is permitted to get a nuclear weapon.
That was never what this was about.
And all of us were incredulous.
But the Corker Bill, why even do it?
Just if you're the Senate, you oppose Obama and you oppose Iran having nukes, just insist on the treaty clause.
Just insist on this being a treaty.
If you just do that, you solve the problem.
Then you need two-thirds of the Senate to ratify it, and it's not automatic.
But the Corker Bill went into action and reversed the whole procedure for the treaty, and basically turned this into nothing more than a statutory elimination or lifting of sanctions.
So all the while these elected officials are telling us they're gonna stop Obama and Obamacare, and they're gonna stop Obama on amnesty and illegal immigration.
That's not what's going on.
What's going on is that their donors are demanding that they get this and that from the Republicans in terms of policy and votes.
And that's who the Republican officials in Washington, elected officials are loyal to.
So you can call that political system being corrupted or what have you.
The point is, Ted Cruz was aware of all of this, and he decided there was no way, since he's so vastly outnumbered in the Senate, that what he instead did was work with the conservative members in the House to strengthen them, to focus them, and not that they needed it, but just to form some unity and have a coordinated effort that was uh aimed at Boehner's resignation.
Since Cruz was not going to be able to engineer a similar thing in the Senate because he was basically a party of one.
So there's any number of people who you might, if you want to consider this in a in a doling out of credit sense, cruises right there at the top.
But then you could also say that Mitch McConnell deserves a lot of credit, not because he wanted to get rid of Boehner, but just because of what he did.
Just because constantly bottling up anything that would stop Obama, never taking on the Democrats, this fear of a government shutdown.
Even this morning I see some analysts on television.
The worst thing that could happen is if there's a government shutdown.
I don't know what it is.
The Republicans just have this irrational fear of a government shutdown that is going to be the end of them and their 2016 presidential aspirations, and you talk about blind.
There's an entire presidential campaign being waged out there, and a bunch of outsiders who've never been in politics before are leading the whole process.
The insider experts, career politicians, you need a telescope to see them.
Their poll numbers are so low.
It's very clear what Republican voters and a lot of Americans want, and it's the exact opposite of what has been happening.
So it was a it was a fate accompli at some point.
And I think Boehner uh holding on until uh Pope Francis's visit.
That was a big deal to Boehner.
Check that one off of his bucket list.
But he's still got some time left, and he's insisting that he's gonna make the most of it, just like Obama is, with whatever time left that he has.
Got to take a brief time out, much more straight ahead, don't go away.
Kicking off a busy brand new broadcast week hosted by me, Rush Limbaugh, here at the Limbaugh Institute for advanced conservative studies.
Uh go to the phones, we're gonna get some in the first hour.
This is Pete in Seattle.
Welcome, sir.
Great to have you here.com.
Oh, it's wait a minute.
I cannot understand a word you're saying.
Um it.
Uh Pete, hang on.
I want to I want to I'm gonna see if we can get you on a different phone line somehow.
All right, let's try to.
There it is.
Now I can hear you.
Thank you.
Honest people do not use the tactic of setting up plants in the audience.
That is something the Clintons do.
People that value truth don't need to do that.
You talked about the five-year-old girl that met with the Pope out of the crowd, out of all the people that wanted to see the Pope.
She goes running through security.
Right.
And gets in.
And then of course I find that.
I find that worrisome.
That people adulate somebody that does things like that.
You can't blame them.
They saw it on television.
It was real.
This is the point.
This is deep deep PR.
This is total devotion to the advancement of your agenda.
This is something that our side does not do.
I don't know if it's because our side doesn't even conceive of this kind of stuff, because who knows why?
I could only guess that it isn't real.
They think if they try something staged like this, if they get caught, it's going to be exposed as a fraud.
Or it just doesn't occur to them for whatever reason.
Or maybe they're lazy, I have no idea.
But the point is, they've done this with the Pope twice now.
They did it, don't forget in Rome, and they've done it here.
They did it in Washington, D.C. And you can say that honest people don't do this.
And I would agree with you off top of that.
And in people that are not confident are the people who do this.
People who think they have to stage events, stage manage events in order to make things look something look like something they are not, are people that are not confident of triumphing and winning by throwing whatever it is they believe out there and letting the people decide.
They have to stage manage it, and they have to they have to uh create these stunts.
But the point is, now after the fact, this happened in Washington, so this this is five days ago.
Here I come, and whatever other news sources have this.
Washington Post, Bright Martin, here we come telling the truth about it.
It isn't going to be believed.
We're going to be seen as sour pusses.
We're going to be seen as people sour grapes.
They're going to say, you're just upset the Pope won.
You're just upset that the Pope is loved by people.
You're just upset you're not able to convince people.
So you that's what people are going to say, because they saw it on TV.
It was real.
They saw a little girl run out of the crowd.
They say the Pope stop.
They saw the little girl give the Pope a note.
Miraculously, the news media found out what the Pope, what the note to the Pope was.
And miraculously, it was made to look like even five-year-old little girls believe in illegal immigration.
The children even want illegal immigration.
What kind of people are we to stand in the way of the wishes and the dreams of five-year-old kids?
And this is the effect it has.
Remember now we're talking about ordinary, everyday low information voters who happen to see this live or happen to watch it later on the news.
It was real.
It wasn't staged.
At the time nobody knew it was staged.
Some may have suspected, but you pointed out some days later.
It's not to great effect.
We still do it.
We're interested in truth and people knowing the truth about how things happen.
I still have this belief that the more people that understand how the left does what it does and how they get what they get and how they make it look like they represent the majority of people when they don't.
It's crucial to that day when we're able to say we beat them.
But it's made all that much more difficult, as I say, when you have Republican leaders signing on to the Obama agenda, and when you have the vicar of Christ signing on to the Obama agenda, how in the world do you tell people?
That that agenda is an extreme left-wing radical agenda that's going to do great harm to this country.
How do you tell people that?
And if it furthermore, how do you tell people?
You say a five-year-old girl, this whole thing was staged.
You look like the sour puss when you point it out, even though it's the truth.
Jeff in San Bruno, California, great to have you on the program, sir.
Hi.
Ditto's rush, your credibility is why we listen.
My wife and I and those around us that follow politics find credibility through you.
So it's taken us as low information voters over the last 17, 18 years I've listened to you and made it able for me to see liberalism in its ways.
And listening to the Pope, you were absolutely correct.
We were surprised by what he didn't say and surprised by what he did say.
I suspect a lot of people were.
I mean, it's the vicar of Christ.
You're just not supposed to say these things.
And when somebody does, oh my God, you're oh jeez.
It's just it makes people uncomfortable.
I I suspect that a whole bunch of people in the first two or three days of the Pope's visit were scratching their heads.
But what are you going to do?
I mean, these are people lie to pollsters so that they're not found out.
They're not going to tell anybody what they really think of what the Pope was doing.
Rather not be known.
So it's left it's left to the spear carriers like us here.
But that's fine.
We'll be back.
You know what's funny here, the New York Times has a story.
