Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24 7 Podcast.
Greetings, my friends.
Great to have you here.
And welcome to the Excellence in Broadcasting Network on the day that we'll celebrate, I guess.
Yeah, they're not going to have a big party here.
We're just noting that this is tomorrow, actually, but we're not going to be here, so we're doing it today.
27th anniversary of the EIB Network.
On Monday, we'll be starting our 28th year.
Live from the Southern Command in Sunny, South Florida.
It's open line Friday.
Yes, sir, we've about to wrap up another exciting week of broadcast excellence.
Great to have you here.
Telephone number is 800 28282 and the email address L Rushbow at EIBNet.com.
And when we go to the phones on Friday, of course, you have lots more leeway than usual.
And whatever it is that you want to talk about.
Twenty-seventh anniversary of the EIB Network tomorrow is August 1st of 1988.
You can say that that today marks the uh conclusion, the completion of 27 years behind the golden EIB microphone, excluding weekends.
Well, not all of them because I was conned into working a bunch of those three-day weekends that nobody told me about.
But excluding weekends and holidays, that's about 6,000.
775 days of excellence in broadcasting.
Mr. Snerdley, which sounds which sounds larger.
27 years or 6,775 days.
Me too.
6,775 days doesn't seem like much.
Well, I mean, it doesn't.
27 years because the difference in a day and a year is so profound.
Three hours a day, that's 20,325 hours.
20,000 325 hours.
And uh remarkably, in all of those 20,325 hours, I, your seasoned host, have not said one thing that would have resulted in me being forced out.
Not one thing.
Who else could do that?
In this day and age.
Twenty thousand three hundred and twenty-five hours with no more guests than you could count on two hands.
And not very many callers at that.
And I feel like I'm just getting started here.
I mean, I feel like the mission is the same, just getting started.
The objectives are the same.
Uh looking back on it's quite a learning experience.
Um anyway, it's great to have you here, folks, as always.
Uh and uh I've been thinking about we we don't have any special planned.
Maybe a couple of sound bites from the past, but nothing nothing special planned.
We are always looking forward uh here at the EIB network, unless the staff on rare occasions gets overwhelmed with nostalgia and forces me to look back.
You you got you don't have you're not gonna be storming in here the next hour with some sort of cake or anything.
Not today.
Not Monday either.
Well, I know not Monday because you're not gonna be here Monday.
So you're not doing anything special on Monday.
Because that'd be after the fact, so uh.
Well, Monday is the beginning of a new year.
Well, I guess I think it is.
Okay, so they're telegraphing to me that there's gonna be some sort of interruption here on Monday.
And that there isn't gonna be one today.
I can't get past.
Now, Friday, something about we always try to it just attitudinally be lighter on Friday, attitudinally and not so weighty and serious.
It's it's not an actual aspect of programming format.
It's just something that has evolved.
End of the week, weekend coming up.
Uh let's not wring our hands a whole day, take things less seriously.
I'll tell you, I'm I'm really having a tough time getting past something, and that's this planned parenthood butchery.
And the thing that I'm having trouble with is the attitude of the White House, the Democrat Party and leftist.
None of it surprises me, but it nevertheless sickens me.
To stop and think about what is really happening here, that is incontrovertibly true.
I don't know how graphic you are comfortable with me being in describing what we have learned in the past three weeks, and what we have suspected for much longer than that about what's going on at Planned Parenthood.
And then after having learned it to listen to people, try to make excuses for it, to try to justify it, to try to explain it, and others, such as people at the White House trying to deny it.
It's stunning.
I know that the left is depraved, I know that the left is perverted, I know the left is miserably unhappy, I know that they're constantly angry, but man, if this we have learned about what is happening to human beings,
and that taxpayer dollars are paying for it, and that it doesn't get a rise out of some people, is so instructive that it is literally almost paralyzingly shocking.
And then after that, you become, I become overtaken by just sheer anger.
I mean, what are we talking about here?
We're talking about infants at a stage in the womb that were they to be born, they would be considered babies and they would be alive, and they would be able to open their eyes and laugh and cry and pee and poop and smile and exhibit every aspect of the complete total innocence that they are,
and we would be embracing them and cuddling them and showing them off to our family and talking about the miracle of life, and we would be thanking God.
But there is a group of people that just days, seconds, hours before that miracle occurs, are inserting forceps into the womb of the mother where this little angel of innocence is awaiting birth.
And that little bundle of joy and love, that little miracle is extracted while it's capable of knowing what pain is the forceps are inserted in such a way as to extract
a full functioning brain, and then in order to extract the remainder of what used to be what everybody who experiences it calls a miracle, a gift of God.
The skull is crushed so that the remainder can be easily removed.
And from there, an organization in the exact image of Joseph Mengela takes over.
Actually, they start the whole process.
They then salvage, or try to, that what was moments ago was in moments going to be a baby, bundle of love, miracle of God.
Smiling, laughing, crying, peeing, pooping, everything that happens.
Just moments, days, weeks from being shown off proudly to members of family, the liver, the lungs, other body parts are attempted to be taken whole,
and then those items, the heart, the liver, what they can get are sold.
Whitehouse says nothing to see here.
Hillary Clinton says she troubled by the videos.
Nancy Pelosi praising the whatever she described Planned Parenthood as being great, compassionate organization.
Selling these body parts of the live for medical research, and yet there isn't one medical advancement that any of the people responsible for this can point to and say, Look what we've done.
Look at the advances that we've made.
It's purely for money and profits.
Barbaric beyond any ability I have to describe it.
And I have waited, we've two weeks, three weeks have gone by.
The there's no room for equivocation on this.
There's no room for, well, what if there's something we don't understand here?
There's no room for that.
This is as clear-cut depravity, murder, what I it just human beings are doing this to one another,
and claiming that people who oppose this somehow are conducting a war on women or are unaware and unfeeling of another person's rights.
Seriously, we are we are we to be told are we to believe that the people doing this procedure and this extra they're the ones that have the monopoly on human rights?
Those of us who are repulsed by this, we're the ones that don't care about human rights.
Everything about this is not only upside down and inside out, it is literally sick.
And because there are no pictures, actual pictures of what these people are doing, it is hard for a society which is conditioned to be shocked only by what they see to really understand it.
Because it's been so successfully portrayed as women's rights, freedom, liberty, equality, or what have you.
And then we learned just yesterday that some of what I just described happens after.
Somebody at Planned Parenthood makes a mistake and the baby is born.
They don't call it that.
They call it arrives intact, and with the low information, crowds not supposed to know what's going on.
And even after you have a baby, outside the womb, the same procedures happen.
And excuses are made for that.
And the same people.
Who understandably, by the way, this is not a criticism per se, but the same people who have their hearts melted over cruelty to animals seem unmoved at all by this.
And in fact, if you make this analogy and comparison, they attack you for making the analogy.
And not being sophisticated enough to understand what's really going on here.
Well, if this is sophistication, if you have to be sophisticated to properly understand what's going on here, then who wants it?
All I know is that's not what this country used to be.
These are not our values.
This is not who we are, as the president loves to say.
And we come to find out that Hillary Clinton has profited, benefited handsomely from donations from the group that conducts this barbarism.
At first Hillary said she was troubled.
Then they got mad at her.
Told her she couldn't sell them out that way.
Now she says she's troubled by the videos.
And she's troubled by the deceit that was used in making them.
And she's troubled, and so is everybody else on the left.
Really mad about how this came to light.
They're not mad at what's happening.
They're trying to cover that up.
Even the PR firm, SDKR Knickerbocker, or whatever they're called.
The crisis PR firm handled, hired by Planned Parenthood to deal with this.
Their entire effort is to suppress the videos of Planned Parenthood officials admitting, smiling, laughing, admitting, eating and drinking, describing what they do.
And describing the pricing and the profit.
The Crisis PR firm has scrubbed from its own website its own involvement with Planned Parenthood.
But that there is a large functioning intact political entity doing everything it can to make sure this does not damage its political agenda.
And this party claims to care about little people.
This party claims to care about the defenseless.
This party claims the Democrats.
They claim to be bonding and at one with the innocent and the helpless and the poor.
The little guy.
Look what they're doing.
To the essence of the little guy, the essence of the poor, the essence of the defenseless.
Look what they're doing, and look what they're doing to make excuses for it.
And then taxpayer dollars are used to pay for this.
It's just sick.
It's just sick.
Lack of outrage about it kind of tells us a lot that we need to know about other cultural decay and depravity that's happening.
Gotta take a break.
Open line Friday on the EIB network, Rush Limbaugh.
We always try to take more phone calls on Friday.
That's another part of Open Line Friday.
We don't always succeed, but we always start with the best of intentions.
And this kind of saddens me too, doesn't surprise me, but I got a bunch of emails from people who say, yeah, you're just you're just another one of these insane pro-lifers.
See, this is a another great example of just how far, just how low our culture is that the wanton killing of babies and harvesting their body parts is a partisan issue.
Really?
Life and death is a partisan issue.
The sanctity of life is a partisan issue.
Really?
This is something about which we need to be able to cross the aisle and compromise?
Where do you compromise with this kind of evil?
That's what has never been able, I've never been able to have that explained to me.
Is how you compromise with evil.
That's what this is.
But that it's viewed as a partisan issue.
The death of innocent.
And here's Hillary.
She tweeted, Proud to stand with planned parenthood and for access to quality, affordable health care for women, men, and young people.
Is that what's going on in there?
Quality, affordable health care.
That's what we're talking about.
You see how we've bastardized our language even.
Now remember this too, folks.
The what?
No, no, no, I've not forgotten it.
I've got the 13 things right here.
I was reminded at the end of the program that I have failed to fulfill this commitment.
So sharing with you the thirteen things mentally strong people do not do.
I've still got it here.
And we will do it, I promise before the program ends today.
Look.
Look at what the left tried to do to this country and continues to do over the notion of torture.
Oh, yeah, we were reprobate country.
We were horrible.
We were just the worst.
Because we engaged in enhanced interrogation techniques.
We tortured terrorists.
Like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, we waterboarded them.
That's not who we are.
That was horrible.
That was rotten.
We deserve to lose the Iraq war.
We deserve a couple of terrorist hits.
We deserve for the ranks of terrorists to expand because we are so filthy horrible that we engage in torture.
And the very same people.
Look at what's going on at Planned Parenthood.
And they care so little they don't even shrug.
And they don't even see the inconsistency or hypocrisy in their positions.
And these are the people that tell us they have the biggest hearts.
They are the most compassionate among us.
They are the ones to be trusted with caring for people because people are not able to do that for themselves.
Well, you can't get a more striking example of helplessness.
And here come the forceps of Planned Parenthood.
I know this makes a lot of people nervous.
Damn it, it should.
This is a nation losing its soul.
And this is not happening in a vacuum.
We've got single digit kids, nine years old, eight years old killing five-year-olds with guns in Chicago.
And around the country.
We have a crime rate that is out of control, involving murder, violence.
And the root of it, I guarantee you, at the root of it is the loss of appreciation for the sanctity, the uniqueness, the value of life, because it's cheap now.
You cannot remove that aspect from any of this aberrant criminal behavior that is reaching new lows and is expanding into new boundaries.
Yeah, we've always had crime.
Yeah, we've always had murder.
We haven't had nine-year-olds shooting five-year-olds knowing how to do it.
That's just I don't know, folks.
It's the only time we hear the term gift of love is when people talk about illegal aliens crossing the border.
Yep, that's a gift of love.
And any Outspokenness against that procedure?
Well, that's untolable.
And that's we can't have that.
That's discrimination.
That is bigotry.
Racism.
If you don't sit back idly and just let the border be overrun, you are the problem.
Those are gifts of love crossing our border.
White House says Planned Parenthood videos are fake.
From the place in our country where the leadership should be leadership should be unquestionable.
Where the people who live and work who have taken an oath to defend the Constitution, including the right to life, liberty, pursuit of happiness.
We have elected to defend and protect all of us.
There's nothing going on there.
White House expressed its firm belief yesterday that recently released videos attacking Planned Parenthood are fraudulent.
And you know who told them?
What their source is?
Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood told the White House the videos are fake, so they must be fake.
Hillary Clinton says Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood are regrettable.
Planned Parenthood received millions of dollars after lobbying Hillary Clinton while she was Secretary of State.
Remember my troop visit to Afghanistan, what was it, 2003?
Was it 2007?
Whenever I went to Afghanistan, I wanted to go on a troop visit, and I it wasn't with USO.
I ended up going with the State Department.
And a group of people from the Agency for International Development, AID.
Its entire acronym is U.S. Aid.
That group, U.S. AID, gave millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood when Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.
State Department.
Agency for International Development.
This is a group that's to deal with the development of third world countries.
That's what the purpose of the AID budget is.
And hundred million dollars went to Planned Parenthood.
From Hillary Clinton's State Department while she was there.
Hillary now says Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood are regrettable.
Meanwhile, in Zimbabwe, the American dentist who killed Cecil the Lion a month ago, paid for an illegal hunt and should be extradited to Zimbabwe, according to the environment minister there, Oprah Muchiguri.
Opa, I'm sorry, Opa Muchenguri.
In a news conference, Opa Muchanguri referred to Walter Palmer as a foreign poacher and said that she understood the prosecutor general had started the process to have the dentist extradited from the United States.
Muchangari also said the dentist's use of a bow and arrow to kill the lion was in contravention of Zimbabwean hunting regulations.
Meanwhile, Reuters went to Zimbabwe and they traveled around the country and they started asking people about it.
The story.
And most people in Zimbabwe had no idea what had happened.
So Reuters reporters had to tell them.
And the prevalent attitude from the citizens of Zimbabwe, what you mean, all of this over a lion?
And the reporter said, well, yeah, it's a big deal.
And the citizens of Zimbabwe kill lions every day, every year here.
Isn't it a big deal?
All of this over what was so special about this lion?
And Reuters said, well, the American people saw this one.
American people saw a picture of this one.
To which the people of Zimbabwe said, could you show the American picture, American people a picture of me.
So what lion?
And NBC News.
In shocking news, chimpanzees are not legal persons, according to a New York judge.
Hercules and Leo, the research chimpanzees from an animal rights group, went to court to be set free.
They're going to have to stay put now because chimps are not legal persons.
The New York judge ruled yesterday the Non-Human Rights Project nonprofit activist group in Coral Springs, Florida.
Now this group started with a different name, the Center for the Expansion of Fundamental Rights.
Now the non-human rights project.
They sued on behalf of the eight-year-old chimpanzees in March, arguing that they're autonomous.
They're intelligent creatures, and holding them at the State University of New York at Stony Brook is illegal imprisonment.
And in a ruling filed Thursday in Manhattan, New York State Supreme Court Justice Barbara Jaffey turned down the group's request to approve a writ of habeas corpus.
Legal mechanism under which people are freed from unlawful detention.
They actually tried to get a ruling of habeas corpus for a couple of chimpanzees.
The judge indicated she sympathized with Hercules and Leo, the chimpanzees.
And she sympathized with their supporters.
Jaffe called campaigns to extend rights to chimpanzees understandable, noting that humans and chimps share 99% of their DNA.
And she even predicted that someday such campaigns may even succeed because the status of legal person doesn't necessarily equal human being.
Who again said that, ladies and gentlemen?
A judge.
Someday, someday.
And she's right, we're heading in that direction.
Legal person will someday mean doesn't necessarily mean human beings.
Quick timeout.
Okay, that's it for this.
We'll move on to other things now.
But I I'm again I I regret if if you found this to be uncomfortable.
It is, folks.
My conscience, I just I can't sit here and act like everything's normal.
Uh this this I'm infuriated.
I mean I literally infuriated when I look at statements by Hillary Clinton or Barbara Boxer in the White House.
Realize that killing certain people is okay to some people.
I mean, it just this is just that it's it become a partisan issue.
Well, I know it's always been abortion is a partisan issue.
But this isn't.
This is this is this is above.
This is so far beyond abortion.
And these people know it.
That's why they're trying to contain it and make it all part of the abortion process.
Anyway, that's that.
Quick timeout.
We'll come back and continue after this.
And we go to the phones.
We're gonna start Earliesville, Virginia's Jackie and you're up first grade.
They have your first caller open line Friday has an awesome responsibility.
Sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Ross, I hope I can live up to your expectations.
I'm sure you can.
You already have.
Congratulations on the 27 years.
Um you deserve all the good wishes from everybody.
Thank you.
And um twenty-seven more years.
Thank you very much.
I appreciate it.
You're welcome.
I have to tell you one thing.
Um my mother was very sick with uh um liver cancer.
Uh she was dying, and I had turned her on to you.
So she was listening to the radio because she couldn't go out much at all.
And my father was outside, you know, diddling around outside the house doing something, and she was listening and listening and listening, and I got on, and she was oh my gosh.
And I heard her saying, Joe, Joe, my my dad.
Um, Jackie's on the radio.
Jackie's on the radio.
This is back, like I said, about 95.
And she passed away a couple years after that.
But that was the thrill of her life.
She couldn't believe that.
Hearing you on this program.
Well, you would achieve fame.
You would achieve some fame that she was immensely proud of you.
Oh, I tell you, she was so she was so proud of you for putting me on.
Um that just happened and it worked out well, and at least she got to experience that.
I appreciate you telling me that story.
She loved it.
She loved it.
It was a thrill for her.
Okay.
So uh what is the reason that you called?
Well, um, the other day I tried to get on, actually yesterday, because I wanted to tell you that I don't think that the um the tormenting by the press of celebrities and sports figures is anything new.
Um I grew up on Long Island.
Um I was a huge Yankees fan uh during the late 50s and early sixties.
And a friend of mine uh and I we could you hang on just a second here, Jackie, you just second.
Yeah.
For those of you low information voters about to punch the button somewhere, she's talking about Tom Brady here.
No, I'm not.
Yeah, you are.
That's what you yeah, you are.
You're you're Tom Brady.
You're we were talking yesterday about how we build these people up and we build them up and we make them the big hero, and they can't do anything wrong, and then we love it when they fall.
And I said, I didn't say it's new.
I said this is part of Americana.
Well, yeah, but in some instances it is really undeserved.
So is a lot of stuff.
I know.
So is a lot of stuff.
Used Maris.
I I I know exactly what you're talking about.
Maris.
Maris, uh, that was 1960, chasing Babe Ruth's home run record, and he was committing two sins.
He was going against Babe Ruth, of course, and then Mickey Mandel was also in the chase.
And Mandel was beloved and popular.
And that's as much uh uh Maris' problem as Babe Ruth was the that that the Yankees fans wanted.
If anybody's gonna do it, have it be the mixture.
Have it be Mickey Mandel.
Uh so yeah, these are these are uh wellness just shot at me ruined Roger Maris's life.
They made it miserable in a lot of ways.
There's no but he ended up with an Anheuser Bush distributorship.
That ain't bad.
Especially back in the days when he had an AB.
He ended up with one, and that ain't bad.
When he had one, that was a ticket.
To be the Budweiser distributor where he I think it was family was in Florida, so forth.
But we do, folks.
These uh these it it's just a I don't care whether they're Hollywood actors or actresses or sports figures, it is part of Americana.
We take people, they exhibit talent or ability that none of us could ever do anything but dream of, and then they do it consistently, and they become unique and special, and we create stories around them, and we assume that nothing in their lives is going wrong ever.
They've got perfect wife, they got perfect kids, they have all the money in the world, they get to go wherever they want to go, whenever and whenever they go there, everybody loves them.
It's perfect.
And that just can't last.
We're not gonna let that last.
We'll give them five or six years at that, and then they gotta come down.
They have to fall because the rest of us have to at some point get our self-esteem back.
We cannot sit here and continue to beat our ourselves and tell us how inferior we are compared to them.
We have to bring them down so that we feel better about ourselves.
And that's and it's it's that's not a criticism.
That's a sociological study.
This is what happens.
It's Americana, and she's right.
It's not unique.
It's not something new.
Uh the details of each individual fall from grace are perhaps unique.
You know, Brady's story is different from some others, but it is inescapably Americana.
What are you what are you frowning at me the other day when I was mentioned going for this?
You agreed with me.
Oh, some people do.
You you don't are you kidding me?
You don't think there are people relishing in Brady's fall because it makes themselves feel better about themselves?
You don't know human nature like I do.
If you don't understand that's part of it, some people.
Hell yes!
Why do you think people fall for raising taxes on the rich when they know it doesn't help them?
Because it's punishing them.
Makes them feel better.
Anyway, thank you, Jackie, for the call.
We'll be back and we will continue after this.
Ted Cruz.
And I'm not gonna say that he's following in the Trump mode.
I think Cruz would do this anyway.
Cruz firing back at Mitt Romney.
We talked about this yesterday.
Romney ripping Cruz for the way he's talking about something, and Cruz just fired right back.
There's something changing in Republican politics.
Export Selection
