Time Text
So Hillary Clinton does a speech on the economy.
And she says that in the last 20 years, Democrat presidents had to clean up twice from trickle down economics.
Well, let me ask a question.
How the hell is that cleanup working out for everybody?
What cleanup?
There hadn't been any cleanup.
Trickle down causes an economic boom.
Democrat presidents cleaning up from it causes stagnation.
This really bums me.
This real I mean, you know, this is one of the one of the tough parts of this.
For 20 years, 25 years.
Point out factually, not even an opinion.
The numbers, the facts, Reaganomics.
Call it whatever you want.
It's just good old unfettered capitalism.
Just kidding.
There is no unfettered capitalism.
Oh, that gets me started on ill pop.
That that distresses me too.
Ah, the Pope is down there in South America, and he's just he's just letting loose on capitalism, calling it unfettered capital.
There hasn't been any unfettered capital.
Can somebody point out to me where in the world there's any capitalism now anyway?
I mean, Hong Kong used to be pretty pure.
But we don't have capitalism here.
We haven't had any capitalism here that you can really chalk up to capitalism in a long time.
We're so regulated, socialistic.
I mean, how can you say this a capitalist economy when half the country's on the dole?
Anyway, greetings and welcome back.
I'm getting ahead of myself here.
Rushlin bought 800 282.
2882 and the email address L Rushbo at EIBNet.com.
Here's Obama.
Here's Obama announcing and commuting the sentences of these uh 46 prisoners that he thinks are in jail unnecessarily.
Two sound bites from the White House.
The first is is actually from a video that the White House released explaining why Obama commuted the sentences of 46 drug offenders in federal prisons.
We have just a 15-second excerpt.
Over the last few years, a lot of people have become aware of the inequities in the criminal justice system.
Really?
The fact that we spend over $80 billion a year in incarcerating people, oftentimes who've only been engaged in nonviolent drug offenses.
So here this is a classic Obama construction, by the way.
Over the last few years, a lot of people become aware of the inequities of the criminal judge.
What who?
Who is a lot of people and how have they become aware?
Nobody's become aware.
What we have is a bunch of left-wing activists out there claiming it.
And then that becomes everybody agrees.
A lot of people have become aware.
And then $80 billion a year on incarceration.
How about $900 billion a year on a stupid stimulus that didn't do anything to make anything better?
$80 billion?
We really gonna talk about wasting 80 billion this regime, which has added seven or eight trillion dollars to the national debt, wants to sit here and wring its hands over $80 billion incarcerating drug prisoners.
And now everybody has become aware that they're not guilty?
That's what inequities mean.
So after they played the video, then here comes Obama commuting.
Well, the sentences, announcing the commutations.
Right now, with our overall crime rate and incarceration rate both falling.
We're the moment when some good people in both parties, Republicans and Democrats, and folks all across the country are coming together around ideas to make the system work smarter.
Make it work better.
Who?
I'm determined to do my part wherever I can.
That's one of the reasons why I'm commuting the sentences of 46 prisoners who were convicted many years or in some cases decades ago.
Right.
These men and women were not hardened criminals.
No, no.
But the overwhelming majority have been sentenced to at least 20 years.
So there you go, folks.
And he's going Thursday to some prison, a federal prison in Oklahoma.
He's gonna Talk to the prisoners.
What do you think he's gonna say?
You know, a whole lot of people become aware you shouldn't be here.
But I'm the guy that can let you out.
But I'm also the guy that before you get out, I'm gonna let you vote.
Yay, Obama!
So the Republican Party has had another issue handed to it on the silver platter.
And it used to be an issue that won.
It used to be an issue that was almost a guaranteed winner.
In the right candidate's hands, it was a guaranteed winner.
You know what the issue is?
Law and order.
With the Supreme Court apparently out of control, with Obama pandering to prisoners, with Obama and the Democrat Party attacking police officers and police departments.
Is this not a made-to-order issue?
For every Republican candidate seeking the presidency.
An old basic standby that was a winner every time it was tried.
Law and order, because everybody wants law and order.
Everybody wants the law obeyed and breakers of the law apprehended and dealt with.
Did you hear about the latest speaking of which?
I don't have it right in front of me, so I'm going to need some help remembering what this is.
Some idiot.
Oh, somebody went somewhere and saw a bunch of Confederate flags and Nazi swastikas and stuff.
I guess it was something like a garage sale or something.
They called 911.
And it was not in Port St. Lucie in Florida.
911 over that.
So offended, so scared, so discombobulated.
And now the symbol of New Orleans is considered racist.
The Florida Lee, French symbol used by royal families dating back to 13th century, emblazoned on the New Orleans Saints helmet.
That's their logo.
Is now being called a symbol of slavery.
As an African, I find it painful, and I think people whose ancestors were enslaved here may feel it even harder than I do as an African, said slave historian Dr. Ibrahima Seck.
In an interview to WWL TV Eyeball News in New Orleans.
He connects the usage of the Fleur de Lee to Code Noir, or Black Code, which was adopted in Louisiana 1724.
And it was used, it is said here to govern the state's slave population.
The Fleur de Lee is all over the city of New Orleans.
It's the official symbol of Louisiana.
Uh because the governor Bobby Gendal signed a law to that effect in 2008.
So you know how they're going to go after him.
This guy signed a racist symbol.
The Florida Lee is a social symbol of the law.
Racist pig.
But this guy does not believe it should be taken down because it embraced a symbol of unity now, but it still needs to be known that this symbol is a symbol of racism.
The Fleur de Lee.
Here it is, Wallingford, Wallingford Wallingford, whatever it is, Wallingford News.
Local police received a complaint when a shopper discovered Nazi and Confederate merchandise at a popular flea market last weekend.
An officer responded to the Redwood Flea Market on South Turnpike Road Sunday to investigate the report and found Nazi and Confederate memorabilia for sale.
He told a complaint complainant as Jewish that there was nothing the cops could do because the merchandise was on private property.
But it causes some people a sense of being uncomfortable, and so the owner was asked if he could somehow do something about it.
It wasn't anything he could do by use of force, but they asked the owner to cooperate here.
The complainant, a resident of uh of Wallingford, feared possible backlash, asked to Remain anonymous, he told the newspaper, in addition to several showcases there was Nazi merchandise, including German helmets with swastikas, images of Hitler, Jewish stars of David in a truck.
I was shaking, and I was almost vomiting.
I had to run.
My grandmother had numbers, meaning she was tattooed in a concentration camp.
David Brooks, our old buddy David Brooks is back.
You know, he's the uh conservative columnist in the New York Times.
He is also the conservative half of the analyst team at uh the news hour on PBS.
And in fact, it was on the news hour on PBS on Friday.
The co-actor Judy Woodruff spoke with Brooks about the um Republican repudiation of Donald Trump over his remarks about illegal immigration.
And Judy Woodruff said, You think the delay, the fact that it took some of the other candidates some time to come forward with their statement that Trump needs to shut up and dial it back.
Do you think that makes a difference?
What matters is that whether the Republican Party rediscovers where George W. Bush was on immigration or John McCain was on immigration, where a lot of dole or a lot of previous uh nominees have been.
And the party has wandered uh into in an anti-immigrant or an anti-immigration reform direction as a result of the rise of the talk radio part of the party.
Well, there you have it.
Dare you?
Yes, sir, rebob.
One day we're finished, one day we're through, one day we've seen our best days, one day one day it's over.
Uh, one day everybody's forgotten about us, we're not a factor, it doesn't matter, and then the next day we are the problem.
We are so prominent and so influential that we are the problem.
Well, that's the answer, isn't it?
The Republican Party must reject talk radio and get back to where McCain and Dole were on immigration.
That's the ticket.
When did that ever win anything?
Can somebody tell me?
Anyway, that's by the way, uh, what is this?
John Kasich.
John Kasich, he's um he's gonna run, right?
Has he?
He hadn't announced yet, though, right?
He's thinking John Kasing.
Right, right, right, right.
Well, he was on with Howard Kurtz on Media Buzz.
This is the show on Fox News where the media gets together and analyzes themselves.
Naval gazing.
And he had Kasich on there, and uh he was asked about whether his brand of conservatism can hold with today's Republican Party.
That's right.
Kurtz asked Kasich if his brand of conservatism can hold, i.e., win, with today's Republican Party.
And Kasich distanced himself from being a compassionate conservative, which is what George W. Bush said he was.
Kasich told Howard Kurtz that his image as a moderate will not be a detriment towards a nominating nomination, saying we haven't had a right wing nominee since Goldwater.
Would somebody like to tell me what this means?
Kasich told Kurtz that his image as a moderate will not be a detriment towards a nomination.
Say we haven't had a right wing nominee since Goldwater.
Um I don't know if he's trying to say that Reagan was not right wing or conservative, or that he forgot, or if he's from the school of Republicans that think every problem we have is owing to Goldwater's defeat.
You know, there are two things about Goldwater that have shaped conservatism, sadly.
One of them is that Goldwater, you know, you've heard the old story that the Civil Rights Act 1964 would not have passed were it not for Republicans in the Senate, that a greater percentage of Republicans in the Senate voted for the Civil Rights Act than Democrats.
Well, Goldwater was not one of them.
Goldwater, he had prior to this, he had voted for two different Civil Rights Act bills.
He opposed the Civil Rights Act in 1964.
I think correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I think it was Title VII.
He thought it was unconstitutional.
And he predicted it was going to lead to things that were not good.
He was not opposed to civil rights.
It was a specific aspect.
But it doesn't matter.
Barry Goldwater has become the symbol of the Republican Party is racist because he voted against civil rights and he was the nominee.
See, since Goldwater was the nominee in 64, he voted against Civil Rights Act 1964.
Then that's how the Republican Party gets its ideas of racist anti-black party.
And then the Republican Party also associates Goldwater and conservatism with landslide defeats.
So when you mention conservatism to the Republican Party, they think gold, they don't think Reagan, for example.
They think Goldwater.
They think 49 states sweep.
They don't think Reagan and two landslide victories.
So for Kasich to invoke Goldwater here, I'm not sure that I quite understand what is what his point is.
Scott Walker, I just want to give you some details.
This is I mentioned at top of the program.
Uh poised to win a huge victory on education as the state legislature passed his budget that repeals state tenure guarantees while slashing the budget of the University of Wisconsin.
The victory was enunciated by the acquiescence of the university, which recognized its defeat by passing a spending plan that implements Governor Walker's cuts.
All that remains for Walker to consummate his victory is to sign this thing.
It's a two-year $73 billion budget approved last Thursday makes a host of changes that Walker has sought in education.
The school voucher program is expanded.
Great, great conservative program.
$250 million in funding has been taken away from the University of Wisconsin.
That's down from the $300 million that Walker cut originally.
Well, he originally sought.
Wanted $300 million, got $250.
But it's still substantial.
So...
So not only has Scott Walker given choice to union workers, he's given them choice to join the union or not.
He's given them a choice to pay dues or not.
He's eliminated compulsory dues in Wisconsin.
He has ended ironclad lifetime appointments for indoctrinators and propagandists, i.e.
teachers.
And I would dare say Scott Walker is doing what a lot of people consider impossible, plucking parasites off the state treasury one by one, and making public sector unions accountable.
Got to take another quick time out.
Much more as always.
Okay, a couple of cultural updates for you here, ladies and gentlemen, a Florida woman.
Florida woman, uh, says Clearwater, uh, facing a domestic battery charge after allegedly using a dildo to batter her female domestic partner during a fight in their residence.
Wonder if there's video of this.
Well, there's video of everything these days.
I wonder if there's video of this.
I did too.
I thought they had much more reasonable arguments than straight people.
I thought they had basically a higher degree of civility, and that's what we told last week.
A Florida woman facing a domestic battery charge after allegedly using a dildo to batter her female domestic partner during a fight in the couple's residence.
The confrontation Saturday night occurred while a Clearwater Police Department officer was inside the home of Annette Keelhum, 57, and Gamze Capainer Ridley.
A cop was present to oversee Capainer Ridley's removal of personal belongings from the house.
A move apparently prompted by Capaina Ridley's filing the prior day for civil domestic.
Oh!
So one of them was moving out because of the dildo attack, and the cop was shown up to make sure that oversee the removal of personal belonging, make sure that the one moving out got her stuff.
After the women tussled over the possession of a dress, officer Eric Blomgren directed Kyle Herm not to touch the 47-year-old Capainer Ridley.
But shortly afterwards, the defendant intentionally sh.
whoa I'll read the rest of this after I count down from five.
If you're still here, it's your problem.
You've been warned 5-4-3-2-1.
Shortly afterwards, the defendant, I'll do it at 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
If you're still here, it's on you if you're offended.
Shortly afterwards, the defendant intentionally shoved a dildo in the victim's face.
And grabbed her right arm while arguing whose dress it was.
The cops saw it all and arrested Kyle Home for domestic battery.
Okay, folks, if you're on hold, hang in, getting to you in just a moment, one other little cultural item here, the Pentagon.
And this is a news alert, I should say, from the venerable associated press.
The Pentagon is finalizing a plan to lift a ban on transgender individuals in the military.
Pentagon, finalizing plan to lift ban on transgender individuals in the military.
What do you mean?
How's it gonna work?
What do you mean?
How does it work?
You just you you know no, it just means a sex change in the middle of combat.
It just means that if you've had a sex change, you want to join the military, you can.
That's all it.
No, no, no, no, no.
What do you mean?
How's it work?
It's very simple.
If you're a transgendered person and you want to join the army to go to a foxhole, you can.
Well, it doesn't matter.
If you if if if you're a transgender and you want to join the army, you can.
That's all it means.
What do you mean, how's it work?
It doesn't mean no, it doesn't mean that I guess also if you join the army and then become a transgender, they can't kick you out.
What do you mean?
How does it work?
It's very simple.
You want to join the army, you can.
Now, Hillary Clinton, I want to get just a few sound bites of hers before we get back to the phones because I think I think with this speech, Hillary Clinton this morning in New York City at the news school.
I think Hillary is going up Scott Walker.
And if I'm right, it all it just means that that's who Hillary thinks that she needs to be on the lookout for.
And that's all.
Just me speculating.
Um I don't know that that's actually what's going on.
Oh, by the way, have you seen have you the left is in an uproar today.
They're in a tizzy today.
You know, Harper Lee, who wrote to kill a mockingbird.
Apparently she had a the uh sequel that apparently she wrote even before to kill a mockingbird, or maybe she wrote it.
I'm not, I'm confused on that.
But it was a new Harper Lee book out today.
Something like go get the watchman or you can make a watchman or do a watchman or whatever.
I don't know what the title is.
The point is that the hero of To Kill a Mockingbird, Gregory Peck, becomes a racist in the second book.
Atticus Finch in the second book is a racist.
And the left, the literary crowd, if a lanes was still open, they would all be showing up tonight getting drunk, drowning in their sorrows.
This does not compute to them.
Atticus Finch, fictional character is one of the greatest lawyers of all time.
Gregory Peck played the role in To Kill a Mockingbird.
And later in life, in this in the second and the sequel novel, he becomes a racist.
And they're beside themselves.
I saw on CNN, they must have had three different seminars on it, on what it means.
That had Harper Lee experts and Harper Lee analysts and Harper Lee word parsers.
So All trying to figure it out.
Well, it might be all for Harper Lee, but it won't matter for Harper Lee, gone for all intents and purposes.
Okay, Mrs. Clinton at the new school in New York City today.
For 35 years, Republicans have argued that if we give more wealth to those at the top by cutting their taxes and letting big corporations write their own rules, it will trickle down.
It will trickle down to everyone else.
Yet every time they have a chance to try that approach, it explodes the national debt, concentrates wealth even more, and does practically nothing to help hardworking Americans.
Twice now in the past 20 years, a Democratic president has had to come in and clean up the mess left behind.
I'm going to admit something to this is so frustrating to me that I I struggle in trying to figure out how to deal with this.
Now, for those of you who are lifers, uh been with this program for the last 20 or 25 years, you've heard it all.
You've heard what bunk this is.
If you're a new listener, um, and if you tend to be under 40, my guess is you're gonna fall hook line and sinker for this because you probably haven't heard anything other than this every year of your life.
And I'm just it's really frustrating to try to expose the lies and the deception in this for 25 and have to keep doing it.
And I'll tell you what makes it even more frustrating is that we have eight years of evidence that what Mrs. Clinton calls trickle down, which really isn't trickled down, and she entirely mischaracterizes it here, works, and it worked better than anything we've done in the last 50 years.
And that is why Mrs. Clinton trashes it and why Obama trashes it, and why the Democrats trash it and why they rewrite the history of the 80s.
It worked.
It worked so well, it obviated the need for the Democrat Party.
That's what they know.
But folks, I'm I throw up my hands in frustration.
I don't know beyond what we've done, how to convince people of this.
The Democrats just keep hammering the lie.
They have their allies on campus keep hammering the lie.
They have their presidential candidates and their other candidates keep hammering the lie.
They've got their media reinforcing the lie.
People that weren't alive or old enough in the 1980s don't remember it.
For 35 years, Republicans have argued if we give more wealth to those at the top by cutting their tax, the first the the whole premise is flawed.
Nobody is given wealth.
Except people who inherit it.
Other than that, nobody is given wealth.
The government does not assign winners and losers.
With the tax code or without it.
Somebody doesn't pick them.
And by same token, nobody's out there picking losers.
But to listen to the Democrats, the successful among us are winners of Life's lottery.
And they had additional help because somebody in government was picking them to be wealthy.
And then somebody helped them stay wealthy by cutting their taxes.
Now, what Mrs. Clinton is really saying here, let me translate what she's really saying here.
For 35 years, Republicans have argued that if we cut taxes across the board and allow people to earn more of what they are earning.
Then the rich are going to end up with more money and they won't give it away.
It doesn't trickle down.
The rich will not share it because the rich are a bunch of greedy SOBs.
And so we Democrats have to come along, and we have to take the money away from them and give it back to you because the rich wouldn't be rich if they hadn't taken it from you in the first place.
That is what she wants.
The brain-dead, low information Democrat voter to hear.
The rich are not hard workers, they're not entrepreneurs, they're not industrious.
They're not unique.
They didn't create anything, they're lucky.
And it isn't fair.
So the Democrats have come along and they've tried to come up with policies to make those people give back some of that money, but the rich won't give it back.
Therefore, trickle down doesn't work.
That's what she wants you to think.
Trickle down doesn't work because the rich hoard their money and do not share it with people.
They don't give it away.
This is so bollocks.
I don't, I don't, it just, all trickle down is, is economic activity.
And it occurs at every stage of the economy.
When you park your car at a restaurant and tip the valet, do you know what's happened?
Trickle down.
Do you know what happens when you go grocery shopping?
Trickle down.
You and every other shopper enable a grocery store to stay open and hire employees.
It trickles down.
What you pay ends up in the back pockets of people that work there and the people that own it.
That's called trickle down.
Trickle down is not the rich giving money away.
Trickle down is not the rich being given money out of nowhere by the government or somebody, and then holding on to it and not giving it away.
Trickle down occurs every stage of the economy with every stage of commerce.
It's called capitalism, and it works.
Trickle down is when the rich go buy a yacht, and the people who make the yacht are employed and get paid.
And the people that then complete the yacht by building the interior, they are employed and they are paid.
The rich pay for the yacht.
That's trickle down.
When the rich bill a house, all the contractors that are hired, it's trickled down.
They get paid.
The more economic activity is, the more trickle-down there is.
There is less trickle-down when Democrats are in power, because there's less economic activity.
Okay.
Hillary wants you to believe that there are 93 million Americans not working because Ronald Reagan was president, and the rich got rich and hold on to their money and are not giving it away.
It isn't trickling down.
So the Democrats have to come in and clean up the mess.
Well, where is the evidence of the cleanup?
Can somebody show me where the economy since Reagan, I don't care, cite their cite the Clinton economy, especially this one.
Show me where it's outdoing the Reagan economy.
You can't, because it isn't.
We're in the worst economic times in peacetime I can think of in my lifetime.
We are this is worse than Jimmy Carter's second term or first term.
It is Jimmy Carter's second term.
This is absurd.
But they get away with this.
They get away with redefining what trickle down is.
The national debt exploding.
Nobody can hold a candle to the national debt growing under Obama.
But I'm sorry, folks, I don't know what to do beyond what we've been doing, and there is not just me, countless others Have been attempting to explain economics 101 to people, even long before I came along, and all it takes is a Democrat president or presidential candidate to come along and lie about it.
And it seems that carries the day.
But Mrs. Clinton doesn't know what she's talking about.
Mrs. Clinton is an economic disaster waiting to happen because he's going to build on one that already has happened.
That's Barack Obama.
No reasonable sane person in this country other than no reasonable sane person would want any more of the kind of economy we have now.
And yet they're going to vote for Democrats that will continue to make this worse and worse and worse.
It's mind-boggling to me.
The whole premise of Reaganomics is that people get to keep much more of what they earn instead of sending it to the government.
And that people living their lives in their own self-interests for the betterment of themselves and their families will bring everybody along.
They'll spend money, engage in commerce, expand employment, grow the economy, create more taxpayers, create more jobs, build up the economy.
It just does a cycle.
It keeps going.
The Democrats believe that that's bad because they don't like people having that much freedom and control over their lives.
So the Democrats, instead of the money from a tax cut going to the back pockets of the people that earned it, the Democrats want the money to go to the government.
So the government gets to pick the winners and losers.
They want you to believe that the Republicans pick winners and losers, and they pick the rich on Wall Street and the CEOs, and that's their friends, and that's who they pick to be.
The Democrats pick winners and losers.
And they want the money to be able to do it.
They want your money.
They want to raise everybody's tax on the premise.
They're better.
They're more compassionate.
The average person will not care about the poor.
The average person will not give to charity.
The Democrats know government and so bogus.
Democrats don't give to charity.
Look at their contributions compared to just, it's just going to give up on this, but I'm telling you, folks, it is mind-boggling, frustrating to see how they continue to get away with these lies.
And the reason they do, I think, is because what they say is simple.
Republicans cheap.
Republicans don't share.
And if they've already destroyed a Republican band, all that brand, all that does is just add support to it.
It's a case study in how lying works.
There's not a Democrat economy out there that anybody today wants to be a part of, including this one.
Yes, indeed, we are on a roll here, folks.
We are on a roll every day.
You don't want to miss a minute of any program any day.
Export Selection
