Time Text
Back we are, my friends.
Here we are, Rush Limbaugh, the EIB network, and the distinguished Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies consistent.
You can count on it.
We don't moisten our fingers, check the direction of the wind, and go that way.
We are what we are, and we are who we are.
And we like who we are and what we are.
And we like ourselves saying what we say.
Because we like being right.
800-282-2882, if you want to be on the program, latest update from Amtrak, the engineer driving the train took that turn at a hundred miles an hour.
The speed limit for the train at that turn is fifty miles an hour.
They could have spent a gazillion dollars on infrastructure at just that turn, and it wouldn't have made any difference.
But I predict to you, I don't care how widespread the news gets that the engineer was doing twice the speed limit.
At that turn, despite all that, you're going to end up hearing infrastructure, Republican stingy, don't care enough, don't allocate the money.
In fact, they're trying to cut Amtrak at this most desperate moment in time.
And Obama will be portrayed as the compassionate savior.
Once again, groundwork is already being laid for that.
Back to Obama at Georgetown University and that poverty discussion.
Speaking to a panel on poverty at Georgetown, President Obama dismissed wealthy Americans as society's lottery winners.
When's the last time we heard that?
That's right, Dick Gephardt, former congressman from Missouri, St. Louis, told us about his friend.
And that's the only reason people have success and achievement and money and wealth is that they are the winners of life's lottery.
It's happenstance.
I call it.
Obama thinks that everybody who has any kind of wealth is a member of the Lucky Sperm Club.
Essentially, nobody works for it.
Now, Gephardt's friend was a special guy.
Gephardt told us that he had his friend.
I've got this friend that's rich friend.
And he came to my office the other day, and what he said to me, he said, I'm not paying enough in taxes.
You need to raise my taxes, and if you do, I'll get even richer.
Much like the guy that walked into Harry Reed's office and said, you know what?
I heard that Mitt Romney hadn't paid his taxes in ten years.
And Harry Reed walks on says, I have a friend that told me that Mitt Romney hadn't paid his taxes in ten years.
Media said, What?
Well, what's your evidence?
I don't have any evidence.
I don't need any evidence.
You need to go ask Romney why he hasn't paid his taxes in the last ten years.
And the media said, Oh yeah, and went and did it.
So these Democrats have these imaginary friends out there that tell them things.
And I'm sure Obama's got his share of them.
Speaking to this panel, Obama called the wealthy society's lottery winners.
He called on them to make a modest investment to the poor in the form of tax increases.
He said the top 25 hedge fund managers made more than all the kindergarten teachers in the country.
And As though that's somehow unique, never before happened, and is outrageous.
That last bit, this top 25 hedge fund managers made more than all the kindergarten teachers in the country.
That is a factoid made up last year by this wonder kind from the Washington Post that opened his new website called Vox as recline.
Anyway, even if it was true, hedge fund managers also paid a hell of a lot more in total income taxes and all the kindergarten teachers in the U.S. combined, who maybe paid nothing And most likely even got some money back.
In fact, where would the federal government be without the evil one percenters who are the primary funders of government?
Get this now.
Latest tax data of Tax Foundation, the top 1% of wage earners, the top 1% of the wealth in this country paid 45.7% of all income taxes in 2014, individual income taxes.
Top 1%, almost half of the tax revenue.
So what Obama is doing here is trotting out the Warren Buffett game again.
The so-called hedge fund manager's tax break is known as the carried interest tax deduction.
Carried interest is taxed at the 20 or 25%.
It's the equivalent of the capital gains rate instead of the 39.6 rate that the regular high income gets taxed at.
But the New York Times even pointed out last year that hedge fund managers do not use the carried interest tax loophole.
They shelter their income in the business of reinsurance, using Bermuda-based reinsurance companies as a capital base for investment.
They're not using carried interest.
And it is, by the way, a favored target of the left.
But never forget who wrote that rule.
Who writes the tax code?
Congress writes the tax code.
I'll lay you a dollar to a donut, this whole carried interest tax, and it's not a loophole.
It's a law.
It's as every bit of part of the tax code as any other tax loophole is.
It's not a loophole.
It's a law.
And I'll bet you it was created by a bunch of Democrat lawyers in the House of Representatives.
Obama still wasn't through.
He said lack of self-awareness was on full display when he spoke at the Catholic Evangelical Leadership Summit at Georgetown University, criticized people who send their kids to private schools and private clubs.
Obama stated those who have economic advantages are withdrawing from societal common areas.
He claimed that those who socially separate themselves are contributing to a sluggish economy that lacks opportunity.
I thought the economy was rocking.
I thought we had a robust recovery going on.
I know this from a man whose own daughters go to private school, who plays private golf clubs.
His wife went to elite private schools.
His kids go to private schools.
He golfs on private clubs.
He flies on a private airplane.
He segregates himself from all kinds of people he doesn't want to hang around.
I thought the whole game was to lift yourself up constantly, trying to improve yourself economically, and Obama's coming along saying that's wrong.
When you do that, you are leaving your fellow citizens behind.
So what are people supposed to do, Mr. President?
Just stick in these cesspools that liberal policies have created for us?
Is that what people are supposed to do?
You know, in the in the upper reaches of African American wealth, particularly sports stars, those people, many of them are ripped and criticized for not staying in the hood after they get wealthy.
And they don't stay in the hood.
They get out of there and they go to Beverly Hills, they go to Homebey Hills, they go to Bel Air, they go to Malibu, they go to wherever the Kardashians are.
It doesn't matter.
They do not stay in the hood.
Well, not only who wants to, why should they?
Why should anybody who doesn't have to be there be there?
Why shouldn't the objective be to get everybody out of the hood so that there is no more hood anymore?
Is it classic?
It's classic liberalism.
You equalize everybody by shrinking people at the top, by lowering people at the top, by diminishing the achievements Of those who have achieved and render them suspect as illegitimate.
Name of the game for the Democrat Party.
Anybody who is successful, anybody who succeeds, anybody's achieved is somehow a suspect.
Here's even more from Breitbart on this.
During conversation about poverty, Obama said that he was concerned that more wealthy people were separated from poverty because they chose to frequent private institutions instead of public ones.
He said part of what happens is that the elites in a very mobile and globalized world are able to live together.
They don't have to live near folks who are not as wealthy.
And so they feel less of a commitment to making those investments.
What investments have not been made?
The latest number, I you know, I frankly, I don't even get the point anymore of even mentioning this.
What is the point?
What difference does it make?
We tell the truth on this stuff day in and day out.
Doesn't make any difference.
Twenty-two trillion dollars, folks, since 1964 has been invested, if you want to use that corrupt word to describe this.
Twenty-two trillion dollars has been taxed, has been taken from people who work, from people who produce, and it has been transferred, redistributed, given to people who don't.
Twenty-two trillion dollars, and the man has the audacity, just like every other damn liberal does, has the audacity to come every year, no matter what the circumstances, and claim the rich are not paying their fair share.
Every year you can make book on it.
Every year, multiple times a year sometimes, the rich are not paying their fair share.
I don't think this is just talk.
I think Obama is giving an indication of some of the things that he's going to do.
The remaining 20, 22 months, whatever it is that he has left.
He is identifying the enemies.
He's identifying the people who need to have action taken against them.
He is rallying support for this.
He is stoking class voices and blames Fox News for this.
Fox News doesn't even come close to inciting anger like Obama is doing it here.
Nobody in the media does.
Nobody comes close to dividing people in this country like Obama does every day.
Nobody in the media is even trying to, except those that parrot Obama and his wife.
Who are not about unity, who are not about uplifting, who are not about inspiring?
They're about punishing.
They're about getting even with.
And I know the same questions.
Okay, Rush, then tell me something.
Why do all these hedge fund joke dopes and all these Hollywood dopes and all these rich Wall Street dopes, why do they give to this guy?
Why do they give to any Democrat who talks this way?
Why do they give to a guy who's going to turn around and blame them and then target them for all of the ills of society?
Because all these people he's talking about, he where does he go on vacation?
Do you think he goes to Baltimore in the inner city?
In Compton?
He goes to Detroit or Baltimore?
No.
You know where he goes?
Martha's Vineyard.
Martha's Vineyard.
Do you think there is an underclass anywhere near Martha's Vineyard except the people working in the houses Obama stays?
And do you think they live on Martha's Vineyard or do they boat them in from nearby islands during the day and night?
Do you think the poor can afford to live anywhere on Martha's Vineyard?
What the hell is he talking about?
I know he's not out there playing public golf courses, unless the occasional military course is public, I don't know.
But he's not doing any of this stuff that he's admonishing all the rest of us to do, and he never would.
Well, I know we lived in the ritzy part of Chicago and he got it at a phony deal with some some hikster, whatever.
Real estate developer, yeah, but I don't even want to relive that.
But the point is he doesn't do any of this stuff that he claims makes you a good citizen.
There's no leadership.
He's not showing us how to do it.
Michelle doesn't show us how to do it.
No, Michelle Obama, African American, goes off to the Whitney Museum and says, Hi, I'm here.
I'm First Lady.
I'm African American.
This place doesn't want people that look like me.
Really?
Well, what are you doing there then?
And just a mile from here, there are people that look like me who are kids who would never even dream of coming here because they don't think they would be welcome.
Well, if they're not, why are you there?
Divide, divide, divide.
And don't doubt that it works, folks.
This class warfare stuff.
It may not win them elections every election, but it works in dividing the country.
And it provides a ready-made excuse for failure.
People living in poverty with no chance of getting out of it, have a ready-made excuse.
Obama's told them it's not their fault.
They can blame it on Warren Buffett or anybody rich guy that they think and they can point to.
And then add to all this, we're going to open the borders of this country and let other poor people come in with no hope of escaping poverty themselves.
Because now we've learned that we're making it part of their DNA.
So we're making a permanent case for permanent poverty.
And claiming it's impossible to lift yourself out of it because your DNA becomes corrupted with it, which means that conservative ideology of self-reliance is pointless and worthless and not even worth listening to.
This man has absolutely no economic knowledge whatsoever.
And if if people hadn't been told how brilliant and smart he is, I don't think anybody would draw that conclusion themselves, just listening to him speak about things.
Because there's nothing here that says, wow, this is brilliance.
This is sheer brilliance I'm listening to.
This is just half baked, warmed over Marxism.
Alinskyism.
Obama rips Fox News over poor.
President Obama on Tuesday criticized Fox News for showcasing people who represent negative stereotypes of the poor.
You watch Fox News on a regular basis, he said.
Now go out and find folks and make me mad.
I don't know where they find them.
The president chided the network for showing people who just want a free Obama phone and express no interest in work.
And that becomes an entire narrative that gets worked up.
In the wake of the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, and Baltimore, Obama's placed an increased focus on the root cause of the nation's racial wounds, including poverty in minority communities.
What used to be racial segregation now mirrors itself in class segregation.
The broader trends in our society will make it harder and harder for us to deal with both poverty and inequality.
Let me tell you something.
Like Obama claimed.
Remember that woman with the Obama phone?
She was running after the cameras when she saw them.
We'll show you in a minute.
Don't go away.
Now, folks, this is an interesting point, and I think it's just short of being a profundity.
Here's Obama yesterday in Georgetown, and we all remember the videotape of the Obama phone woman.
And obviously that's still on his mind.
When he saw that, it ticked him off.
But not the way it would tick me off or you off if we were president.
He's mad that they dare even use this.
And he's obviously been holding resentment.
This happened in 2012.
Seems like it's longer ago to three years ago, but I guess that's what it was.
And whatever length of time, he has just been seething over this.
Chided Fox for showing people just want a free Obama phone and express no interest in work.
Here is that woman.
It's in Bedford, Ohio, outside of Romney event.
A reporter and Obama for President volunteer have this exchange about why she's protesting Mitt Romney and supporting Obama.
Obama!
You got Obama phone?
Yes, everybody in Cleveland, no minority got Obama foe.
Keep Obama in president, you know?
He gave us a phone!
He gave you a phone for you a phone.
You shine up the gang, you're a full stamp small social security.
You got low income, you disability.
Okay, what's wrong with Romney again?
Romney!
He sucks!
Romney, he sucks bad.
I got Obama phones.
Okay, so we now know that Obama saw that.
And we know that Obama was ticked off at the media for playing it.
I I won't speak for you, but I feel confident in doing so if I wanted to.
I'll tell you, if I had been president, I ever were president, and I saw a video tape of that, I would be embarrassed.
I would be embarrassed that that is how voters see me.
Is that all I'm good for?
Is that the only reason they vote for me?
Because they think I'm giving them stuff.
I would immediately, and I'm serious, folks, I would immediately consider myself a failure, and I would realize I have a hell of a project ahead of me if that's why people are voting.
The same thing.
I remember when that situation in Detroit when they opened up some free apartments for voucher rent, and some like 25,000 people showed up and they only had 1,500 vouchers, and we uh had a radio reporter out there interviewing them, and and and they were clueless, all they cared about was Obama was going to give them an apartment.
And where was he getting the money?
From his stash, from Obama's dash.
Say, Obama's dash, Obama phone.
I would have been embarrassed.
I would have wanted to change that.
I would have looked at those people and said, Oh my gosh, we gotta.
Instead, Obama sits around and he takes, I guess, great pride in people like that voting for him.
Because to him, that means his policies are working.
To me, it would be an utter embarrassment, not just for me, but for the country.
And I would immediately do whatever I could to change it.
Isn't it funny?
Senator's Obama at his poverty confab at Georgetown, all upset.
Fox News.
Well, I don't know where they find these people.
These people who just want to free Obama, they're your volunteers, sir.
They are your volunteers.
They show up at your campaign events.
Nobody has to seek these people out.
In fact, that's what the left does, in fact.
Anyway, Glenn in uh in Bethel, Ohio, great to have you on the program, sir.
Thank you for waiting.
Well, thank you, Rush, for taking my call.
I'll tell you, my concern goes back a little bit to uh the um the Baltimore issue, and and it concerns the police and law enforcement in this country that they're kind of back on their heels defending themselves.
Uh I remember uh uh uh an American lady of African descent saying that if the young man in Ferguson, Missouri would have wouldn't have been where he shouldn't have been and wasn't doing what he was doing, that he'd still be alive today.
And when these things take place in Baltimore and Detroit and around, all of a sudden there's the rush and the big push and the rioting and everything, and I think that the lawless have pushed the police, so to speak, back on their heels where they're trying to defend themselves about and my contention is that the police need to take a more aggressive stand and go after the lawless, convincing them that you can't be do lawless activities in this country.
And that you know, that's basically what there is to say.
I would like to encourage them to do that, and uh, how you feel about that's of importance to me.
Well, that's what used to happen.
Why do you think the cops are withdrawing and pulling back?
Why do you as you say getting defensive?
Why do you think they're going on the defensive?
Well, I I think it's because the the uh their bosses, when you get up into Washington, D.C., which shouldn't be their bosses anyway, are telling them that uh it it keeps the country in a flurry and keeps this disruptive nature going right there, and belittles law enforcement, which is probably giving those people exactly what they want, and that's disarray.
Yeah, you when you if if you keep going with this, in other words, if you continue to analyze this, just answer the basic questions I ask you, you will eventually arrive at the realization that this isn't really about the cops,
And it really isn't about law enforcement, that those things are just tools or events that are capitalized on to advance an entirely different agenda.
In other words, take the Reverend Sharpton or Reverend Jackson, while it appears that the real focus and the target is police departments, and that it stops there, and that there is a specific reason for opposing police,
and that is, well, the police have traditionally been white, and they've traditionally been racist, and the police have always been unfair and discriminatory and profiling of blacks, and therefore every arrest is presumed to be illegitimate.
Every police department is presumed to be corrupt because it's rooted in racism and bias and unfairness.
But the real target is not the police department.
The real target is, I believe, the however you want to frame it, I mean, I call it the majority, and I don't mean a racial majority.
I'm talking about numerical majorities who happen to believe in various American traditions.
There is an all-out assault on all of the institutions and traditions which have created and built this country and have held it together and have defined it.
And policing, the police department is just one way attacking that's authority, the police department is the authority or the use of force wing of that majority.
And since the majority itself is illegitimate and unjust, in most cases since the founding of the country, then it's simply a uh a target area in the overall effort to weaken the nation's majorities into acquiescence and silence and fear and just giving up.
The results of this, if like what you said is exactly right.
If the police back off, you're going to get more crime.
If the police restrain themselves, you're going to get more crime.
Well, that happens to be part of the plan.
More crime is unstable, more crime destabilizes, more crime causes fear, more crime creates panic, more crime creates unrest and unease in the majority.
It's all about ripping apart what the minorities of this country consider to be an unjust, unfair power structure.
The police departments of the city happen to be the armed representatives of the majority.
So I don't think it stops at just the cops.
And I don't think the purpose is to really let people out of jail.
I mean, I I think that the Sharptons and Jacksons of the world are smart enough to know that the vast majority of people in jail deserve to be there.
They know this.
But you wouldn't know it by listening to them.
They want people to believe that the vast majority of people in jail don't deserve to be there, that that's an example of the majority being unfair and unjust, and why we've got to take power away from them.
How do you take power away from a majority?
I mean, this is a country, make no mistake, this is a country that was designed to be run by a legitimate elected representative majority.
It was designed, it was set up that way, on purpose, for express purposes and reasons.
The minority was to have rights, but it was not to be able to trump.
That sets up fights and battles and contests and so forth between the majority and the minority, and the minority is free, legitimate ways to try to wrest power and become the minority.
It's all about what you can do with public opinion.
But public opinion was to be the result of majorities.
Therefore, the majority should rule.
It was always that way.
That is simply unacceptable.
And I'm not, it's not just racial minority.
Women consider themselves a minority.
Feminists consider themselves a minority.
Every victim or victimized group in this country considers themselves a minority.
Hispanic, you name it.
They all have the same grievance.
And the grievance is that the majority is unfair, unjust, biased, bigoted, racist, sexist, homophobic, what have you.
And they do not have justification for being a majority.
And so the cops is just one area where you attack it.
And the uh they use fear and loathing, they use violence, threat, intimidation, they bully.
And the way it usually works is the majority doesn't get what's going on.
The majority thinks that, you know what, let's just be nicer.
They think we're mean, let's show them that we're not.
They tell us we're racist, let's show them and demonstrate that we're not.
They say we're bigots, let's show them that we're not.
It's not they don't think you're really bigots.
It's just what they say.
It's it's the way that they are able to amass support.
It's the way they're able to mobilize their minorities to take intimidating, threatening bullying action.
You had a story yesterday about religion.
And the left, it's a pew center story about how the Christian population of this country is fading fast, they said.
In 2007, the percentage of this country identified as Christian, 78%.
That, believe me, that is the big majority that's under assault right now.
Now they don't say it.
You have to read between the lines, but the gay marriage, gay rights, all of that, the militant extremists, that's the target is Christianity.
Catholicism, all the denominations.
78 to 70 percent since 2007.
They're out there celebrating all these news agencies with stories.
Man, we're having success and numbers of people leaving Christian.
People aren't leaving Christianity.
I don't believe.
I think the same numbers of people exist, and maybe even more.
Now stick with me on this.
I'm gonna go through this quickly because of time.
What's happened is that a number of these denominations, Methodists, Lutherans, uh, episcopalians, have watered down their religious message, and they have allowed social causes, such as gay marriage and all this to infiltrate, become part of the church service.
Well, people who want to be taught the Bible, who want to hear sermons about the Bible, who are Christians for that reason are going to leave those churches.
Now, whether they join others or not, it's unknown.
But the one group that has not shrunken is evangelicals, and evangelicals have not been corrupted.
They have not allowed any of the left's social warriors to take over.
But even at that, look at this, 70% of the population is Christian.
And less than one percent of the population is bullying them around.
That's what's going on.
That's the purpose of all.
The police department is one small little branch of this effort.
Read a story about this today.
Do you realize if the evangelicals in this country all united behind one candidate, the Republican Party would never lose?
If evangelicals would choose a candidate and vote for him and all show up, the Democrats would never win the presidency.
And they know that.
And that's why the attacks on the Christian right, the moral majority, Christian coalition, whatever it is, they're scared to death of it for a whole host of reasons.
Well, folks, the week just keeps speeding along.
And already going to be Thursday tomorrow.
And so we're gonna, there's a lot of stuff that I have in the stack that I didn't get to at the trade deal, and there's still time.
Doug somewhat deeply and have some information to impart to it, and why Obama and the Libs are at odds over it.
I have all that for you tomorrow, and of course, whatever happens, the Brady situation is trained derailment.
You name it, we'll be on it here at the EIB Network.
