Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24 7 Podcast.
Hello there.
Welcome to the Rush Limbaugh Show.
Thanks for having me today, Eric Erikson here.
I am in just miserable weather here in Atlanta, Georgia, at my home station, WSB.
Let's get started.
There's tons of stuff here.
For those of you who are confused who've never heard me fill it in before, this, for those of you in Rio Linda, is what they call a real South American accent.
Someone realinda is now trying to think if I am Venezuelan or something.
No, no, Swedish Southern in Georgia.
Thank you for having me.
The phone number 1-800-282-2882.
As I usually do when I fill in for Rush, I'm on Twitter and Facebook at E.W. Erickson, EWERICKSON.
And as I'm going through the show and talking about things, if I got the link, I'll throw it up so you can follow along at home.
There's so much to get to today.
We got fast food workers right not rioting, striking around the country, although they're promising damage.
We will get into that.
And Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
She's accusing the president of the United States of beating up women, giving them the back of their hand his hand.
Yeah, the Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, accusing the president of the United States of beating up women.
The Democrats are starting to come unglued.
But we should begin with the story that everyone is buzzing about.
The president wants to put together an international coalition to go after I I don't I haven't decided what we call them.
Mr. Surdley, is there an official term here at the EIB network for do we call them ISIS ISIL is or just those SOBs.
Al Qaeda, yes, we could go with Al Qaeda.
The bad guys, however we want to call them.
The president says, now this is the interesting thing here.
This is from the Associated Press, Laura Jakes.
Our objective is clear, says the president, and that is to degrade and destroy, he says ISIL, so that it's no longer a threat.
That's what the president says, so it's no longer a threat.
But he also said, and this is where the media is doing him so many favors, they're in full damage control for the president of the United States.
Because last week he said we had no strategy, so now they're they're making sure we've all heard.
Our objective is clear.
That is to degrade and destroy ISIL so that it's no longer a threat.
What you're not reading in these news stories is the president went on to say he wants to make ISIL manageable.
Not to wipe them out.
Not to utterly vanquish our foes, not to go all duck dynasty on them and convert or kill them.
I'm with Phil Robertson, by the way.
Duck Dynasty, the dad.
He's in hot water again for saying we should convert or kill the infidel, the the ISIS.
That's what they want to do to us.
No, the president just wants to make them manageable.
Now, the vice president says we will follow them to the gates of hell.
The Daily Caller's pointed out when John McCain said that back on the campaign trail in 2007-2008, the press collectively soiled it shorts.
John McCain was a warmonger for saying we would go after the bad guys, follow them to the gates of hell.
But Joe Biden, jumping Joe, he's he's right on the money.
Who do we believe here?
The court jester?
Joe Biden, or the commander in chief who says we just want to make ISIS manageable.
Now I get the sense from the media, and Rush and I, we were talking about this the other day.
We were trading emails before he went on vacation because he and I are in the camp that the president has not checked out.
And a lot of you, you're you're emailing him, you're emailing me.
I see it on my Twitter feed and on Facebook.
You're convinced the president has checked out.
Let me tell you about check it out.
My wife, I'm not picking on my wife here.
I I'm not abusive like the president apparently is to women, according to Debbie Walserman Schultz.
We'll get to that.
My wife the other day asked me if I had ever heard of Ferguson, Missouri.
Yeah, two weeks ago I heard of Ferguson, Missouri.
My my wife does she does not pay attention to the news.
There's nothing good in the news.
There's death and mayhem and destruction in the end of the world, the apocalypse upon us, a guy coming out of the clouds on a white horse with Johnny Casting and backup music's gonna happen any day now.
It doesn't look good.
She's just tuned out the news.
A lot of you have tuned out the news.
You've checked out.
Listening to this, I'm an alt-rock guy.
If I'm not listening to Rush, I'm I'm listening to an alt rock station somewhere.
There's this guy, George Ezra has got a song out now.
I downloaded his EP the other day in the opening lines of the song of his are uh the guy he reads yesterday's news because today's is too scary.
He listened to her, he plays yesterday's blues because today's is too grim.
People are checking out because of the news, and I get it.
The president, he's not checking out.
I know some of you think he's checking out.
The president is not.
He he wants to shrink ISIS.
He wants to make it a manageable problem, but that's not him checking out.
I I was at dinner a couple weeks ago.
I was uh with a friend of mine who's a governor and then a very dear friend of mine.
We were in Texas for an event and we had a private dinner together, and this friend of mine leans over to the governor and me.
And he says, Barack Obama is to America as Clarence the Angel was to George Bailey, and it's a wonderful life.
Remember that movie George Bailey is going to commit suicide, and an angel Clarence shows up and he shows George Bailey what the world would be like if George Bailey didn't exist.
That's what Barack Obama's doing to the world right now.
He is showing the world what it would look like if America did not exist.
Bedford Falls is now Pottersville, and it's a terrible place.
But unlike it's a wonderful life, we don't get to revert to the tolerable status quo at the end.
George Bailey's gonna have to shell the town and take it back street by street from old man Potter's goons and militia.
I mean, just think about how far the world has fallen under Barack Obama in just the last year.
I mean, in this, I full credit to this friend of mine.
He's modest and wants to remain anonymous, but he put together this list.
Think from 365 days ago, that's it.
Labor Day of last year.
The Chinese expanded their air defense identification zone to incorporate the territory of other nations.
They're harassing Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, the Russians annexed Korea or Crimea.
We've seen the rise of ISIS overseas.
The Russians have invaded Ukraine.
Mosul has fallen to ISIS.
The Hungarian liberal democracy has collapsed back into a rationale authoritarian regime that wants to, in the own words of the new Hungarian prime minister, I guess he's the reelected one.
He wants to make an illiberal democracy.
The guy actually said that.
An illiberal democracy.
The Egyptians in the UAE, they've attacked Libya without telling us.
The Christians in Yazidi and Iraq are on the verge of being wiped out through genocide at the hands of ISIS.
More and more stories are coming out that NATO is having to scramble to shore up its eastern defenses against the Russians.
Anti-Semitism is on the rise around the world.
We're on the verge of another war in Iraq.
Middle America seeing race riots.
Folks, let me put this in perspective for you that may shock you if you don't think about it.
This past Monday, Labor Day, September 1st, 75 years ago.
The Germans rolled across the border into Poland and started World War II.
And then a funny amount of timing, the next day, September 2nd, 69 years ago, World War II ended, with the Japanese surrendering.
In the seven decades roughly since World War II ended, the West has put together a pretty lasting solid peace.
It hasn't been flawless.
We had a Cold War, but by and large, we were all safe and secure.
In the past year, the president, largely, we can blame him.
In the last year, the president has worked tirelessly to undo that.
You see, the peace we've had for the last 70 years or so was put on two pillars.
One was the idea of strength through peace, or peace through strength.
Everyone in the world knew that the United States Could strike them anywhere at any time, no matter how big they were, if they dared to challenge us, so they didn't.
And this isn't President Obama's fault, really.
For the last 25 years, since the end of the Cold World War, we have largely wound down our defense capabilities.
We didn't need them.
We could we we could do all sorts of other things.
We could spend three million dollars to study why lesbians are fat.
That came out yesterday.
We could do all these wonderful things with our money instead of defense.
But then there's the other pillar.
That's the moral certainty that the West is right and good.
Since the collapse of Nazi Germany and the rise of their kissing cousins, the communists, the West has largely established for everyone that we're right and true and our values are superior, and that's the one Barack Obama doesn't like.
He doesn't believe in the goodness and superiority of Western values.
I mean, Barack Obama, look read his writings, read his autobiography, read his statements, look at the people he surrounded himself with.
Whether it was the the communist guy who was his mentor growing up, or whether it was Bill Ayers or all the other people he's surrounded himself with, or the academics he surrounded himself with as a teacher and community organizer for acorn.
He doesn't connect Western values with goodness.
He sees a bunch of old colonial powers trying to hang on to their power.
He is the first American president to not take for granted the greatness of America.
He sees a deep sense of grievance in the American experience.
The idea that we're the last best hope for mankind, he views it as anathema.
Look at how the president is so invested in going into Ferguson and sending Eric Holder and making a cause there.
They're going to investigate everybody in Ferguson.
They're going to investigate the police department.
The rhetoric he uses to talk about Republicans.
He calls them an enemy.
He says to take a gun to a knife fight against the Republicans.
With ISIS, he just wants to make them a manageable problem.
He sees them as an abstraction.
And this is the key takeaway here.
In 365 days, the president has largely helped undo seven decades of strength and peace from the United States.
Why?
Because he sees the United States as the problem.
He sees the United States as the bully.
He sees the United States as the aggressor.
He doesn't take for granted that Western values and American values are the values that the world should have.
That's anathema to him.
The president sees the United States as a bully who's been striding too high on the world stage and needs to come down a peg.
He thinks if we just step back, if we check off the world stage, the rest of the world can take care of itself.
They'll settle each other's problems.
Only we see it's not working.
The only question now is how many people are going to die because of this president's foreign policy.
You see, the president hasn't checked out.
He's chosen to check the United States out.
And bad things are happening as a result.
Eric Erikson in for Rush Linball.
Welcome back to the Rush Limbaugh Show.
No, I'm not Rush Limbaugh.
I'm not even Mark Stein.
It's Eric Erickson.
If it makes you feel better, you can call me Mark Markson.
I'll allow you to do that.
Because I know we're pretty comfortable here as Rush Limbaugh listeners with the Marks and well, now you're you're stuck with an Eric, so you can call me Mark if it makes you feel better.
But it's Eric Erickson here in Atlanta, Georgia.
Hi to my folks in Macon and Louisiana and parts there else.
The phone number 800-282-2882 to the EIB network.
Also, I will remind you, they haven't even asked me to tell you this.
But I will tell you, you can follow my Twitter feed, Facebook at EW Erickson, but you should be a subscriber to Rush Linbaugh.com because then you get the show notes and the clips and everything else, and you get the email and you can go in and you can find all of the stuff that you've been looking for that I've said that you can't find anywhere else.
I'm a subscriber.
My parents are subscribers.
Everyone I know is a subscriber.
You should be a subscriber now.
And they pay me nothing to tell you that.
I just believe in the product.
People are calling in and they're tweeting.
I can see it in my Twitter feed.
Wasserman Schultz, she wasn't accusing the president of being Yes, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee was accusing the president of beating women.
Can I just I we'll get to the clip, but I want to make this point.
Why is it the Democrats always say such nastier things about Republicans and conservatives in particular than they do bad guys?
I mean, listen to the president.
He's when Ted Cruz wants to defund Obamacare, he refers to him as hostage takers.
They're willing to kill the hostages.
No.
We've seen people in the Middle East willing to kill hostages, willing to chop off heads.
They tell Hispanic voters, Republicans are your enemies.
They tell the base of the Democratic Party to take guns to knife fights.
Meanwhile, ISIS is manageable.
Now, I can hear the new Castrati out there.
Mr. Eric Thun, he's sending Kroove mythals to Iraq.
He's not sending Kruove Mythals to Ted Cruz.
He's sending organizing for action or whatever the heck they're calling it this week to go out and harass Republicans, mischaracterize them, take their words out of context.
We don't have to do that with the bad guys in Iraq.
And yes, he sent a hundred and twenty some odd cruise missiles to Iraq, but not to Syria.
Not to Syria, not where they're actually encamped.
See, this is all kabuki theater for the president.
He's gonna lob a few cruise missiles at Iraq, but he's not gonna go into Syria.
He says we have no strategy for going into Syria.
Then you get the Democrats come out like Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Yes, in truth, in truth, Wasserman Schultz said she was talking about Scott Walker, but she really meant the president of the United States beats women.
Yes, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee says Barack Obama beats women, physically harms women.
Can we play the first clip here?
Can we play the first clip here?
That is reality.
Why?
Because according to Debbie Washman Schultz, in Wisconsin, they pay women fifteen to thirty cents less than men in the average wage.
They pay women less.
Oh, but it's not just that, it's caveman tactics too.
Play the second clip of her.
Lady, I've said next to you one time, nobody wants to pull your hair, trust me.
She's accusing, is this not racist?
She's accusing President Obama of being a caveman.
I mean, if I went out and said that the president was a Neanderthal, the Huffington Buffington Post, they would be out there, MSNBC would be calling me a racist.
She's accusing the president of being a of being a Neanderthal caveman.
She's accusing the president of the United States of physically abusing women, all for paying them less.
Yes, friends, she was talking about Scott Walker, and her point was that it in Wachemadiggy in Wisconsin, women make less than men.
Here, according to the Washington Post, the White House has not narrowed the gap between the average pay of male and female employees since President Obama's first year in office, according to a Washington Post analysis.
The average dude in the White House makes eighty-eight thousand six hundred dollars, the average woman makes seventy-eight thousand four hundred dollars, a gap of thirteen percent.
So if Scott Walker is beating up women by daring to pay them less, if Scott Walker is pulling women by the hair, pulling them backwards.
And don't you love how she throws in Tea Party extremists?
You could almost hear the little white ball of spit on her dry lips as she's trying to put all of that together, the Tea Party extremist Scott Walker.
She could get something out of her hair to moisturize her lips, I guess.
Nobody's touching that hair.
I've sat next to her.
Is that being mean?
Maybe I shouldn't say that.
I'm sorry, but it's true.
But if she's accusing Republicans of this because they pay women less than men, then she must also be accusing the Democrats of it as well.
No, no, no, no.
Mr. Erickson, they may pay women less than the White House, but they give them free birth control.
Ha!
Welcome back.
It is Eric Erikson.
This is the Rushlin Ball program, the EIB network.
The phone number 800-282-2882.
I'll get the phone calls in a minute.
Every once in a while I get behind the microphone.
Mine, by the way, is not the golden microphone.
They didn't ship that to Atlanta for me, so I'm stuck with my fuzzy microphone here.
If you go out today to find food, and you go to a fast food restaurant in a major city, you may find that the workers are striking.
Now there will be other workers inside preparing your food for you.
Don't let the lines turn you off.
Many of those people are paid to be there to make you think that the fast food workers of America are all on strike.
This is organized by the SEIU, the local Communist Party affiliate here in the United States of America.
Sadly, sadly adopting the purple and gold colors of my beloved LSU.
This I've got this.
My buddy, he writes under the name Labor Union report at my website, redstate.com.
He put this up regarding what was going to happen in December 2009, the SEIU concocted a plan to unionize the fast food industry and shroud their campaign under the veil of a living wage campaign.
See, they don't really care if the price goes up.
They don't really care if the wage goes up.
What the SEIU wants, well, they do care about the wage, we'll get into that, but what they want is new members.
They're hemorrhaging members.
The hemorrhoids of unionization are hemorrhaging members because, well, unions really don't do much these days.
So they're having to go out there and pound their chest and say fifteen dollars to make a hamburger with no degree from college and maybe not a GED.
We should get $15 for this.
This is their document that they wrote, my buddy put this up.
And again, I'll put these things on Facebook and Twitter.
Use a living wage as a vehicle to excite, build momentum, build worker lists, ID potential leaders, and potentially support collective bargaining.
We believe that we will have enough traction with an ordinance to use as a legislative tool for organizing and potentially as legislation to raise standards.
See, what's going on here is you got a bunch of people.
By the way, more than 95% of Americans make more than the minimum wage.
You should know that.
The minimum wage is mostly people who failed at life and high school kids.
Seriously, I look.
I don't mean to be ugly with you people.
What?
So my producer from my show is in here and he's just staring at me.
Can't believe I said this.
You if you're making if you're a 30-something year-old person and you're making minimum wage, you've probably failed at life.
It is not that life dealt you a bad hand.
Life does not deal you cards.
It's that you failed at life.
Now, certainly you may have come from a terrible position in life.
And certainly I am not a libertarian, I'm a conservative.
I believe that there is some value in some level of a Social safety net.
But I don't believe that we should be forced to pay you a minimum wage.
I'm opposed to the minimum wage.
You want to cure unemployment, get rid of the minimum wage.
I mean supply and demand people.
It's the basics.
You learn it in economics 101.
But if we're going to set a minimum wage, why $15 an hour?
Other than the unions tend to get their project labor agreements with the federal government based on a minimum wage, so you raise the minimum wage when it only affects three to four percent of workers nationwide.
Suddenly union workers get paid even more money.
See, the unions don't care about the fast food workers.
They don't.
They're using the fast food workers as pawns for themselves.
But then if you failed at life and you're a 40-year-old flipping burgers, or making my beloved Chick-fil-A biscuit in the morning, then you probably, when the SEIU worker wearing purple and gold and of dubious gender,
comes in and bats their eyelashes at you, name Marge with a deep voice and says that they want to help you make more make more money, then you probably fall head over heels in love with the SEIU worker.
Just like you fell head over heels in love with that person who used you and left you to flip burgers because you failed at life.
And the SEIU people, they're using you too.
I I don't now I realize that those of you who I'm talking to are standing on a line right now, sweating while you're earning what?
Minimum wage from the SCIU to go out there and hold up signs saying you want $15 an hour.
You know what?
This is the way life works.
Life, it's neither fair nor unfair.
Life is you're on a planet orbiting a hotball of plasma in the vacuum of space.
And you just happen to have sense enough that God gave you to do something and you're failing at it and you're bitter and angry at other people for your position in life.
Why don't you go out and try to improve your position in life instead of trying to get me to have to pay more in what I buy to pay you more?
Now, some of you out there, particularly those of you who are liberals already having a fit over me pointing out that Debbie Washam and Schultz's comments about Scott Walker, also mean the president beats up women.
Those of you who you're having a you sound though heartless.
Friends, it's called tough love.
I'm sorry, it's it's tough love.
You if you are in a job where you've got to go stand on a street corner and get paid minimum wage by some union goon to hold up a sign saying you want more money, you have failed at life.
But here's the other thing, everybody's missing.
Now, I I want to say, let me stop and say this is also an organized effort.
The president gave his Labor Day speech.
The Democrats are coming out with talking boys.
This is all coordinated.
It's coordinated with the media.
It's coordinated with the New York Times and MSNBC and probably some folks at CNN and ABC and NBC and CBS, they've all got their talking points ahead of time.
They're trying to drum this up.
And much like this is the key here, much like gun control, this too will fail.
But it will feed a sense of grievance.
It will seed a sense of grievance and feed it uh against corporations.
Against wealthier people than yourselves.
You won't look at yourself and say, I failed at life.
They want you to keep from seeing that you failed at life.
And then try to earn a passing grade.
No, they want you to look at someone else and say, I will take what he's having, and you, Mr. Obama, take it by force from him.
It's what they want.
Again, so many of these people say nastier things about free enterprise and Republicans and conservatives than they ever would, these people lopping off heads in the Middle East.
It's just The Democrats think they're going to win in 2014 by feeding senses of grievance.
The Democrats think they're going to win in 2014 by making people outraged.
Now, the Democrats are stacking the deck.
Yes, people.
My buddy Ben Dominic.
She wrote this article the other day in commentary about the Clinton machine alive and well, and he points out that the election of Barack Obama largely is the end of progressivism.
Now I know that shocks some of you.
But since Barack Obama's election, and as the Clintons have begun rebuilding for a 2016 campaign that may or may not come about, the Democrats and the establishment Republicans in Washington, they're both a bunch of stooges for corporations.
For big businesses.
They don't care about you, and they know that these strikes are not going to pan out.
Why?
Because most fast food chains are franchised.
You're not getting the McDonald's corporation to raise a fifteen dollar minimum wage.
You're getting some guy from your local city who owns a couple McDonald's to do it, and he's not going to do it because he can't afford to do it.
They're just trying to feed your sense of grievance and harness it to stay in power.
But what happens when they get in power?
They're not doing anything to help you.
They're helping their corporate friends.
They're they're rich dudes who gave them bunches of checks to keep them in power, who are only cared about the getting their jollies off.
Social liberalism.
They don't care about you and your free market and your desire for a minimum wage.
They just want to have a good time behind their gated walled community where they live or at the top of their skyscraper, and make you think it's the other guys who are out to get you when really they're out to get you too.
They raise your wage to fifteen dollars.
They unionize you, they're going to tax you, they're going to take your union dues.
They're going to raise your income in Obamacare, where you're going to be hit harder with fees and penalties.
And then you're still going to be in a grieved schlub who's failed at life.
Only this time you might finally realize you failed at life.
Eric Erickson in for Rushland Ball.
Welcome back.
I see many of you outraged by me pointing out people failing at life.
I did note that most of the people who make the minimum wage are teenagers.
But there's a very small handful of older folks, not retirees, but people who have failed at life.
And we should it tough love, people.
Tough love.
Come on.
Someone just tweeted to me, you give Christians and conservatives a bad name.
The crap you're talking about on the radio is rude and hurtful.
You know, I am going to seminary.
All right.
Let's go to the phones.
Bill in Binghamton, New York.
You're first today on the EIB network.
Welcome to the program.
Hey, good afternoon.
It's great.
Great to talk here from Binghamton, New York.
Excellent.
What's going on?
Well, I'm one of the few proud conservatives in New York.
And uh I made an observation a while ago that I think Wasserman Schultz is the second coming of Gloria Stivic.
I'm happy to all in a family.
Because she kind of handles herself that way in that manner as a whiner and a bedwetter.
Um but my my point today would be.
And her and her desired male is the beta male loser.
Exactly.
Mead, who is a David Axelrod, but hey, you know.
Um the thing is it is is I am sick and tired of these establishment Republicans that fall for debate every time.
You know, they uh they they call Scott Walker names, uh, or some of this one's a racist, this one um is a sexist, you're a homophobe.
And you know what?
The Republicans basically need to be the adults in the room and say, you know what?
We're not taking this bait.
We're sick and tired of it.
And I think a lot of the American people, they're ready for that because you know what?
Look what the hell is going on.
People are sick and tired of what's going on, and they want to move on from this.
It's terrible.
Bill, it's funny you should say this.
I know this isn't exactly where you're going, but I will shine with some brilliance here for a moment.
If you look historically at the wins of the Republican Party and the presidency, it is when the public feels they need a grown-up.
It's when they feel the public feels that it's time for an adult to take charge.
Republicans do not win the presidency on the back of domestic politics.
They they just don't.
Reagan won in nineteen eighty.
Yeah, Reagan won in eighty with the the hostage crisis in Iran, the rise of the Islamic fundamentalists over there, all those problems.
George W. Bush won in two thousand largely because of events collapsing around the world and remember what what he his motto was in running help is on the way.
Right.
The Go ahead.
I'm sorry, but they they want a true leader.
They don't want someone who puts his hand up to the wind and sees which way it's blowing this day.
They don't want someone who has to look at a teleprompter for his morals of that day.
You know, conservatives.
I'll tell you what the public doesn't want.
I'll tell you specifically what the public doesn't want.
The public does not want a bunch of a fet liberals who pee to sit down.
That's what they don't want.
I mean, when you look at all the things that liberals are whipped in a few river.
Liberal men in particular in their mom jeans.
They are upset about the Redskins being called the Redskins.
They are upset about Michael Sams having an expose on ESPN about where he takes a shower because that they want him to be a gay superhero, but they also want him to be a football player.
They are upset about Ferguson, Missouri, and there are some reasons to be upset there, but not necessarily for all the reasons they're upset about.
They're upset about all of these things.
They're upset about people not making $15 an hour to flip a burger, but they seem to not really be upset about the world going to hell in a handbasket.
They seem to not be upset about ISIS.
They seem to not be upset about Russia.
They seem to not be upset about China.
The American people, I assure these young men who pee to si pee sitting down that the American people are upset about these things.
The American people need grown-ups in the room now.
The American people realize they need grown-ups in the room.
It is one of those situations where for so long we have been complacent.
We got to a point under Bill Clinton where instead of sending out the military to blow up the bad guy, we send out FBI agents with indictments because who's going to mess with the United States?
Well, it turns out there are a lot of people who want to mess with the United States.
But now we've got a president who he plays golf all the time when he's not wearing his mom jeans, who throws a uh baseball badly from the pitcher's mound to start a game, who is more worried about the nonsensical things of this country than the real world things that are out there hiding in the shadows that wish to kill us.
He seems to not recognize that there are actually people out there who want to kill the people he represents as commander in chief.
He is far more aggrieved at Ted Cruz for not wanting to fund Obamacare.
He's far more aggrieved at conservatives.
Again, Republicans do well winning the presidency.
When the American people realize it's time for a grown-up to take charge, we've had our fun these last six years.
And we've seen the whole world go to hell in a handbasket with President Obama out there playing golf.
It's time for grown-ups to take charge again.
Eric Erickson in for Rush Limbaugh.
Oh, some of you people are upset with me and my tough love.
Pointing out these people might need to work a little harder or something instead of striking.
Folks, I'm a Calvinist.
That should explain everything for you.
Turns out the Venezuelan Socialist Party is taking a play from the American Democratic Party.
You probably haven't heard the story.
I will tie it all together for you.
A member of Venezuela's Socialist Party has rolled out a variation of the classic Christian Lord's Prayer to implore beloved late leader Hugo Chavez for protection from the evils of capitalism.
Our Chavez, who art in heaven.
But newsflash for you socialists, I bet he's not.
The earth, the sea, and we delegates, red-shirted delegate Maria Uribi recited on Monday.
Hallowed be your name, may your legacy come to us so we can spread it to the people here and elsewhere.
Give us your light to guide us every day.
Remember the Democrats of the 2012 convention?
They decided to strip God from all their language, and then they wouldn't.
The vote failed to put him back in.
The chair basically had to rig it to put God back in their platform.
And now the Socialist Party in Venezuela is probably taking a, well, look at what's happening with the Democrats in Washington and said, hey, we can swap out God for Chavez.
My goodness gracious.
All the socialists everywhere, they tend to behave the exact same way.
