Well, the House of Representatives has withdrawn their immigration bill.
They have abandoned it.
They have pulled it down.
They have thrown it away.
They have said no mass.
And they'll bring it back tomorrow.
When I'm just kidding, I can't help but get it.
But it's they they they pulled the bill.
The phone lines in Washington melted to the point that uh and and look, everybody knew what was going on.
They were simply going to try to pass this thing that wasn't going to go anywhere simply to try to tell a particular group of people, hey, we don't hate you.
And of course, that group of people was never even going to hear that it had happened.
Actually, I actually think that the target of the bill was the Chamber of Commerce.
I really do.
I think they tried to pass this bill for Tom Donahue, this guy that runs the chamber.
Tom this guy who told the Republicans, if you don't pass this, you may as well not even nominate a candidate in 2016 because you're not gonna get a dime from the chamber.
That's probably what they were trying to do.
Just appease the Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic vote at the same time, but regardless, folks, you were heard.
And the immigration bill in the House has been pulled.
Greetings and welcome back, Rush Limbaugh 800-282-2882.
If you want to be on the program, the email address, L Rushbo at EIB net.com.
Up next is impeachment, and the same thing is gonna happen with this, except it already has.
The Republicans haven't pulled any immigration articles because there aren't any.
And the Republicans have announced that there won't be any.
The Republicans have gone to every rooftop they can find.
And by the way, on every rooftop, they haven't been able to find anybody in the media.
And they've been shouting into the wind for everybody to hear, we're not going to impeach the president.
We are not going to impeach Obama.
Do you hear us?
And yet, if you turn on the television, what you will see is Republicans want to impeach Obama.
And if you listen to the President, you will hear him say, They keep suing me.
You know what?
They gotta stop the hating.
Why don't they work with me instead of instead of trying to impeach me?
The president wants to be impeached.
He believes it's a political winner for him.
The Democrats obviously do, because they're the ones talking about it.
The Democrats are talking about impeachment much, much more than the Republicans are.
And you know who has established that to be true?
None other than a quasi-god to Democrats and leftists, and that's our old good buddy Nate Silver.
Nate Silver took his statistical analysis talents to ESPN.
That's where his 538 blog is now.
And he has run the numbers, and he has concluded that, on the whole, the Democrats are spending a lot more time talking about impeachment than Republicans are.
Consider, for example, the Sunlight Foundation's Capital Words database.
That tracks words spoken in the House and Senate.
So far in July, there have been 10 mentions of the term impeachment in Congress, and four others of the term impeach.
Eleven of the 14 mentions have been made by Democrats rather than Republicans on cable news.
The scoreboard so far in July, Fox News has 95 mentions of impeachment.
MSNBC 448 mentions.
MSNBC is the impeachment network.
That works out to 2.7 mentions per hour on MSNBC or once every 22 minutes.
But MSNBC is not quite as obsessed with impeachment as CNN was with the Malaysian Airlines flight 370, but it's getting there.
Impeachment Mentions on MSNBC increased six-fold from May to July.
Overall, since January 1st, MSNBC's mentioned impeachment 905 times to Fox News' 213 times.
But that doesn't quite tell the whole tale.
Because most of the 213 times on Fox have been denials.
Most of the mentions on MSNBC are presented as they really want to.
They're thinking about it.
They might actually do it.
They're really getting close to doing it.
They really want to do it.
Some of the impeachment discussion from Democrat politicians and liberal commentators has uh kind of br'er rabbit equality.
Only please, Brear Republicans, don't impeach President Obama as they beg him to quite do that.
So just in case there's still any doubt as to who's driving this impeachment nonsense, it is the Democrats.
And with that, let's go to the audio sound bites.
And we will start with Nancy Pelosi yesterday afternoon on the House floor.
If you don't want to hear people that use the word impeachment as your people had done, then tell them impeachment is off the table.
That's what I had to do.
That's what this speaker should do.
He already had.
Boehner had already said impeachment is off the table.
Every Republican in Congress had said Republicans off the table.
And yet Pelosi goes to the floor of the House and says, that's what I had to do, except that she didn't.
They did impeach Bush.
I asked Snerdley yesterday, you remember that, right?
And he didn't.
Until his jogged memory actually got into gear.
It's that distant a memory.
But the Democrats did impeach George W. Bush.
They never got to the trial, but they did impeachment.
Impeach him.
The Boehner has already said impeachment's off the table.
And it didn't work, did it.
Look at all the mentions on PMSNBC.
Look at all the mentions on CNN.
Look at all the mentions here on this House floor of the Democrats.
We are not going to impeach Obama.
Is being drowned out by all the talk from the Democrats that the Republicans want to impeach Obama.
Sheila Jackson Lee yesterday afternoon also on the House floor.
President Bush pushed this nation into a war.
It had little to do with apprehending terrorists.
We did not seek an impeachment of President Bush because as an executive, he had his authority.
President Obama has the authority.
You know, this woman is an order of fries short of a Happy Meal.
She co-sponsored the impeachment.
government.
She has forgotten that she co-sponsored Dennis Kucinich's article of impeachments against George W. Bush.
Here is Dennis Kucinich from June the 10th, 2008.
Washington, D.C., on the House floor.
I rise to a question of the privileges of the House and offer the impeachment resolution noticed last evening.
Resolved that President George W. Bush be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors, and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate.
They did it.
They are denying that they did it.
Sheila Jackson Lee was a co-sponsor of Kucinich's articles of impeachment.
And just yesterday, grab soundbite number two again.
I want you to hear it again.
You just heard Kucinich make sure everybody knew that his articles of impeachments, impeachment had been exhibited to the Senate.
They were submitted, sent to the Senate.
Sheila Jackson Lee co-sponsored those articles just six years ago.
President Bush pushed this nation into a war.
It had little to do with apprehending terrorists.
We did not seek an impeachment of President Bush because as an executive he had his authority.
President Obama has the authority.
She obviously forgot, which is entirely possible.
It could be a legitimate excuse with her.
She could just have forgotten.
Remember, she thinks there are flags placed by astronauts on Mars.
Back to Pelosi.
Nancy Pelosi, this is this morning on Capitol Hill at her weekly press briefing, a reporter said, You mentioned in your opening remarks, madam, that the leadership, meaning the Republican leadership, should take impeachment off the table.
But aren't the Democrats guilty of the same base rallying politics that you're accusing Republicans of doing?
No.
You're raising money off of this talk when the speaker continues to say he.
Let me tell you something.
That money coming in is practically spontaneous.
People are very upset.
And I'm sorry to interrupt you, but every stipulation that you were making, I don't agree to.
The fact is, why do you create a lawsuit?
Because you want to find somebody culpable of something.
So if that's not their point, and it has not a path to impeachment, all they have to do to say to their people and ours.
Because they've activated our base.
All they have to do is say to their people, it's off the table.
I had to say that with a great deal of courage, I might add, about the war in Iraq.
But she didn't.
She was right there with with Kucinich and his articles of impeachment.
She didn't say no to it.
And so it didn't take a great deal of courage for her to say no to impeaching Bush because she did.
So now she just accuses the Republicans of fundraising and once again demands they take it off the table.
And they already had.
That's how this works.
They had already taken it off the table.
This is no different than Republicans want to starve kids.
Back in 1995, John Lewis, uh great great lion of the civil rights movement, also yesterday on the House floor in Washington, got all fired up here, um, just ready to roll.
And he his point here was that the uh the Republicans have never ever supported this president.
House Republicans spent all of their time and energy fighting this president.
Why?
From his first day in office, the Republican in the House in this House has never supported this president.
Every olive branch he extended was broken.
But today, Mr. Speaker, we have reached a low, a very low point.
This resolution to sue the president just goes a little too far.
It is the same and a disgrace that we're here debating the suing of the president.
The American people deserve better.
We can do better.
We can do much better.
Yeah, we could do better.
The same guy said they're coming for our children.
They're coming for our whatever.
Remember that?
He was talking about the school lunch program.
The Republicans were going to starve kids.
We can do so much better.
Congressman Lewis.
And here is Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz, uh, who still runs the Democrat Party also yesterday on the House floor.
It is unconscionable that when this do nothing Republican Congress finally decided to do something, it's suing the president for doing his job when they refused to do theirs.
I wish I could say that this was politics at its worst, but I've heard too many in the Republican majority raise the specter of impeachment not to know better.
I urge opposition to this time and taxpayer money wasting resolution and urge Republicans in the majority to join Democrats and address the serious challenges facing our nation.
I can't.
I I literally can't stomach anymore.
This is just I gotta take a break.
I literally think...
I was just watching Fox News, ladies and gentlemen.
Their foreign policy...
Well, one of their foreign policy experts, K.T. McFarland, and she was in the Bush administration.
And she made a point that I have been making myself ever since this latest incarnation of the Middle East peace process began.
And essentially what she said was that the only hope the Palestinians and Hamas have, because they can't beat Israel militarily, there's no way.
They don't have a prayer.
And that right there is one reason why the media and the Democrats support them.
It's because they're the underdogs.
They're the poor, disadvantaged.
put upon minority versus the big powerful, unfairly powerful, mean spirited children killing majority.
And she said the only hope the Palestinians or Hamas is to mount a PR campaign that casts Israel as murderers, killers of children, not caring who dies, just launching attack after attack in the civilian neighborhoods.
And she said that's all they can do, and that's exactly what they are doing.
And the point is, that somebody asked me yesterday on the uh on the program, how in the world can anybody not identify the good guys and bad guys in that conflict?
And particularly knowing that Israel is an ally of the United States, and if you consider us the good guys, then so are our allies.
And it's just what KT McFarland said.
And though, and this is the way the left and Obama look at it, and it's the way they look at everything.
Whoever has power, whoever is the majority, if there are a couple other criteria that are also met, they're illegitimate.
So in this case, the Israelis.
They're the big, powerful, rich by comparison, majority, and that alone makes it unfair.
And that unfairness alone mandates that people like Obama and the left support the downtrodden put upon minority slash underdog, Hamas.
They're poor, they're uneducated, they're uh they're just defensive, and you get these evil aggressors, these mean Israelis trying to keep everybody under their thumb, and this is how they see the world.
And I was glad I was I was happy to see her put it in those terms, because those are understandable terms, and it it's also educational because it's the way the left picks sides on everything.
And if the side they want to pick is not deserving naturally of being picked, then they'll make them deserving by classifying them as a minority or as a as a victim.
And that's how you get to the attack on the rich.
It's how you get to the attack on Wall Street, the attacks on Republicans or whatever.
There's always a mean bully that is always the majority.
Usually it's white.
And usually it's been around since the beginning of time.
And over here, you have people who are their victims, who have stolen from them or have cheated them out of things, or whatever.
In other words, the poor victims would have a lot more in life if the evil bullies hadn't taken it from them or weren't denying it to them.
And then you add to this that the evil bullies aggressively don't like and take action against, and therefore these people must be defended and must be spoken up for there are always many more people in the victimslash disadvantaged category.
So you have a much greater chance of securing mass support if you target those people, but you have to do it in a way to make it look like you are their friend.
But the worst thing that ever happened to minorities in this country is the Democrat Party.
Democrat Party, you know, people talk about the uh the culture rot in this country and the depravity and the culture war or what have you.
And I saw something the other day, somebody uh, and I don't I don't remember who somebody theorized that it really is about sex.
Free sex, contraception, birth control pilled that once the uh sexual revolution hit, once there weren't any consequences that that began the downward spiral.
And I don't agree with that.
I mean, it's certainly seductive as an explanation.
But I don't think that's what at base, anyway, the culture clashes are all about.
Because what what that has led to is what's worse.
And that is the total demolishing of what used to be considered the family unit.
Single parent households.
Uh I I think the demolishing of the family unit, the traditional household uh uh makeup is really what is at base destroying or damaging culture.
And right, right on schedule, soon as I finish, what happens if CBS News posts this headline on the world wide web anguish and outrage as Gaza toll mounts.
And by the way, according to Israeli news, uh the head of Hamas, Haled Meshah, worth 2.6 billion dollars.
The idea that these is poor down trading mistreated minority that must be defended against the evil aggressor Israelis.
It's just and the reason folks, if you want to understand liberalism, this defines everything.
It's how you can decipher who they're going to end up supporting and why.
It just in other words, there's no substance.
There's no substance to their decision making here.
It it's it's all a political calculation, and it is all designed to advance their agenda, which is throw away your freedom, give it to them, let them expand the government or whatever element they use to control you and let them do it.
Because they're looking out for you, because they're there to protect you against the big bad wolf or whoever.
And to get there, they have to lie to you.
Hamas is responsible for its children dying.
Hamas is putting them in the tunnels.
Hamas is putting them in hospitals and schools, and then establishing those places as military centers, making them legitic legitimate logical targets.
Plus, it is Hamas who is the aggressor in all this.
It isn't Israel.
But the Hamas PR campaign is working.
It's one of these things I was talking about at the beginning of the program.
Everything is so out of whack that the sensible are considering themselves insane because everything is diametrically opposed.
Common sense is unapplicable.
I gotta get back to the phones.
This is uh this is Lamond in Houston.
I'm glad you waited.
Great to have you on the program, sir.
Hi.
Thank you, Russ.
Excellent show today.
Thank you.
I appreciate that.
I really do.
Well, I kind of want to talk about um exactly what you're talking about today.
One of the biggest weapons that the left and the Democrats have and are using is redefining everything.
That that's kind of the weapon that I've noticed that they kind of uh rule, you know, over everything with.
They redefine liberalism as being progressive, they redefine uh unaffordable health care as affordable health care, they redefine illegal aliens as legal aliens.
It kind of ties into what you were saying today.
And I think that what they do is these redefinitions shroud everything as a living lie.
And people don't realize and don't know it because you know they they've redefine what the reality is.
So therefore they press on and they keep, you know, going to the news that the liberals you know put out there and believe in it and thinking that, oh, you know, everything is not what it you know what it should be.
Um like one of the main things that I've noticed that the Democrats have gotten away with is this big government thing.
Now we all know that government is a parasite.
It lives off of the public, off of the free market.
And what they do is they you have to understand if you allow a parasite to grow bigger than its host, the parasite ends up killing its host.
Um and a lot of people don't understand, you know, that dynamic.
They don't understand that relationship, and they see, you know, the host as being smaller than the government, and that's the redefinition that they get away with.
Um, when in reality, the government doesn't produce any income, the government doesn't generate cash flow.
Uh, and it just it's it's amazing.
Really amazing how these Democrats and the left can redefine things, people not looking to it for themselves to do the research.
It doesn't even get that.
It doesn't for the people that you are talking about.
I don't think they even get anywhere near thinking of it in those terms.
For example, there are, as we speak, 100 million human beings in this country who are not working.
Every one of them is living as though they are working.
They have most of their necessities, and they have quite a few of their wants.
They have uh a place to live.
They have probably a car, they have food stamps.
Many of them are able to watch television, and many of them have a cell phone.
And that's where it ends.
I mean, that do you think they're thinking about where it's coming from and that it might end, and that well, actually they do think about that when they hear Republicans talking about cutting government.
Then it's oh no, you're not.
Oh no, you won't.
And they vote for Democrat Democrats because they think that will keep the gravy train coming.
You think you you think that they're worried about the host getting bigger than the uh parasite or Verspice?
I don't know, I don't.
No, I don't.
And like, for example, right see Obama believes that the private sector is the parasite.
There you go.
The private sector is the parasite in his world.
You didn't build that.
You you didn't build you you didn't become a success on your own.
What are you fooling?
Me, you're not fooling anybody.
You didn't do that.
You know, you you you wouldn't have what you have behind every great fortune is a crime.
Everyone, that's what they think.
Now, the truth behind that, in my opinion, is that it's it's such a lie because now they're using government as a cash cow.
They'll they'll come out with all of these programs that don't work, um, and they'll you know, they'll play the middleman of these programs and they'll give a pentance to whoever is supposed to receive whatever benefit this program is supposed to offer while they get rich in the middle.
Um and that's what these these leftist politicians do.
What they away from what do you mean the program isn't working?
I've got my food stamps, I have my cell phone, I've got my car, I have a place to live.
I've got I can watch Sports Center and I vote in the World Cup.
I mean, I can do pretty much, and I can't go to I can't go on a Hawaii on vacation or that, but I I you know what who says the programs aren't working.
Well, that's the point is that you know, you you get on these programs and they don't hold you to a higher standard, so you don't achieve above and beyond the program, and that's what the left always pulls, especially.
The reason that you can't achieve is not because of you, it's because there are people purposely keeping you down, and that's why those people have to be gotten even with.
There are people stepping on you, there are people the rich have taken your money.
That you used to be rich, you just don't remember it, but the rich stole it from you when you were drunk one night.
And you forgot you forgot.
And and so uh you you can't you can't be everything you want to do because the man has the deck stacked against you, and you can't get it.
He's gonna stop you every time you start getting anywhere.
And so you gotta keep voting Democrat to keep getting even with the man.
And that and that's the weapon.
That That's redefining truth.
No, I totally agree with you.
Now, let me let me add something to it.
Rush, you're sounding awfully pessimistic.
I don't mean to be sounding pessimistic.
Folks, I still think people need to be educated about this.
And the very people we're talking about need to be properly informed.
That's why, you know, I play devil's advocate with a guy.
I'm not trying to beat him down into giving up and all, not at all.
Do not think that.
And I'm not trying to be pessimistic.
Let me be realistic.
I mean, you we we've got to understand how the Democrats pull this off.
And in order to uh have any kind of a recovery from it, uh that's why I think it is so important to be upbeat and optimistic with people and tell them that they are capable of much more than they think they are.
The Democrat Party is telling them just the exact opposite.
The Democrat Party is basically telling them that without everything the Democrats are doing for them, they wouldn't amount to a hill of beans.
There's no inspiration coming out of the Democrat Party.
There's no uplifting, inspiring rhetoric that you hear there.
Everything is doom and gloom and pessimism with the Democrats as the only hope.
And that's what has to be countered in people's minds.
And talk to people who have lived under real communism and come to America.
They can tell you.
They know this instinctively.
They've lived it.
Talk to anybody who used to be a, quote, unquote, ward of the state and somehow found their way out.
They will tell you if people live the reality or live the possibility.
And that's what has to be inspired.
And that's...
I think inherent in the conservative message is cheerful optimism.
Because the truth be no, we we conservatives want everybody to do well.
Because we love people.
We want everybody to be the best they can be.
We want the country to thrive and prosper.
And that doesn't happen unless people do.
It doesn't happen if government alone does.
Not even close.
So playing these devil's advocate games is simply a way of, in my view, anyway, trying to be a little bit informative and uh persuasive rather than just accept what is.
Because it doesn't have to be this way.
It it really doesn't.
And that's why I don't think the Democrats are the ones with compassion.
Counting the number of people who live the way they do, because the Democrats make it possible, equals compassion.
Not in the slightest.
Andy, in Washington Courthouse, what?
Hey, I did a...
Real quick, the president is so eager to use his pen and his phone.
Why doesn't he call the president of Mexico and say, look, your southern border is so much smaller to close off to prevent these illegal immigrants coming through your country and then coming into ours?
Are you kidding?
The President of Mexico got to better get her with the president of Guatemala to help facilitate the uh the move of children from Guatemalo through Mexico.
But Rush, do you realize why he won't do it?
He can't stand to be embarrassed once again with another foreign leader.
Because nobody else is listening to him.
Why would Mexico?
Well, he yeah, but he knows that the Mexican government doesn't have a problem with this.
Well, no, they're still getting their foreign aid and everything else, and all the tourist dollars and everything.
Well, I mean he's making out like a fat rat.
I know, I know, but look, if Mexico could be persuaded to enforce their border, that would be one thing that Obama could try.
And then if he failed, he'd be embarrassed by the Mexican president.
But the Mexican president is okaying television ads run by the U.S. government and radio ads in Mexico that advise Mexican citizens where to go once they get to America for health care, for example.
The president of Mexico is one of the loudest voices demanding we keep the border open.
The president of Mexico sees a way to get rid of his drug cartels.
The president of Mexico sees a way to get rid of his own poverty-stricken population, send them north.
The president of Mexico realizes that everybody that gets in here, or a vast majority of them, are going to send some money back to Mexico, because they've got family there.
There's everything in the world to gain from his perspective from Mexican citizens who don't like it in Mexico to get out and go to America.
I mean, how many of you, if you could get rid of Alec Baldwin, would do it?
Or Barbara Streisand or any of these others who promised to leave.
If Bush got elected, for example, fine.
Go.
Same thing with the president of Mexico.
Except it's not Alec Baldwin, it's little Jose.
Fine, Jose.
You want to leave?
Go there.
Less pressure on my welfare state here.
Yeah, it just hit me.
I mean, I've known it, but it never hit me.
It hit me today is already Thursday.
So Thursday is in the can, as far as EIB is concerned.
So that means open line Friday tomorrow.
Always look forward to that.
And I do again.
Thanks very much for being with us here today, folks.
