Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
Greetings, my friends, and welcome and great to have you here, Rushlin Boy, and yet another exciting excursion into broadcast excellence.
Here we are behind a golden EIB microphone, all prepared, ready to go to serve humanity.
And to execute assigned host duties flawlessly, zero mistakes.
If you want to be on the program, it's 800 282882, the email address L Rushbow at EIB net.com.
So I got in here today and I got a flash email.
Hey Rush, I know you've got a ban on MSNBC, but F. Chuck Todd said that the Obama presidency is over, it's done.
It's uh it's it's a piney because of the latest NBC News Washington Post poll.
And I'm sad to say that F. Chuck Todd is wrong.
In fact, the correct way to look at the Obama administration is that it's just now getting started.
It is in no way over.
It is in no way crumbling.
It may be in public opinion, but that doesn't matter.
And I will explain myself in great detail in mere moments.
But the takeaway is this administration, this presidency is not cratered.
It's not over.
It's just now really beginning.
I mean, the things that have happened up till now, I was worried would happen, predicted they would happen, knew they would happen.
So I warned everybody about it back in January of 2009.
But what is happening now in essentially really intensifying in the last six months, and what is going to continue to happen from now until the end of this administration, it's really just beginning.
Now, I want you to imagine the federal government eliminating your private property rights due to the interpretation of political correctness by five people.
Or a very tiny minority of people, tiny minority of people, is ostensibly, they say are offended by something that you own.
And imagine an agency of the federal government without any proper adjudication before any sort of court, tribunal or what have you, just comes along and on their own whim decides to eliminate your private property rights.
Because of interpretation of political correctness, because they're liberals, because they're statists and authoritarians, and assign to them that kind of sweeping power.
That's exactly what the Washington Redskins are dealing with today.
The Patent and Trademark Office simply eliminated the right of the Redskins to own that trademark.
It doesn't mean they have to change their name.
What it means is that if, and there will be a series of appeals on this, the um the Redskins will not go down without a war dance.
After all the appeals, if this ruling holds, it means that anybody can use the Redskins trademark and logo for anything that the Washington Redskins do not own their name.
That's what this ruling means.
They don't have the right because some people are offended.
It can be spread around.
It can be if you snurdly wanted to start selling caps or T-shirts with the word Redskins or Washington Redskins and use their logo, you could.
Because they don't have the right to own it, even though they do own it.
Imagine the federal government taking away your health insurance and your doctor.
That's what millions of Americans are dealing with.
Many more millions to Come.
Imagine the federal government shutting down coal-fired electric plants on a whim in the name of a hoax global warming.
And as a result, driving up your electricity bills to the point that you have to make life-altering changes in your lifestyle to be able to afford them.
And about that, I want to issue you another warning, ladies and gentlemen.
I remember back in 1997 when the Sierra Club targeted SUVs as main contributors to global warming.
I warned you that there was going to be an all-out assault, an increasing amount of momentum aimed at SUVs and their owners, an attempt to stigmatize those people and the vehicles, make people feel guilty and get rid of them.
And people said, come on, Rush, do you see liberals in virtually everything?
I said in the political realm, yes.
Didn't take long before people realized that I was right.
So I'm here to issue you another warning.
I have here in the stack of stuff today, a story by a similar type of uh environmentalist wacko group.
They have discovered that your cable box is one of the primary biggest users and thus wasters of electricity in the country.
And when you combine the hundreds of millions of cable boxes in this country alone, we are talking about serious global warming.
We are talking about serious use of electricity, and if it's produced by coal, that is bad.
So I am here to tell you, June 18th, keep a sharp eye because your cable box could well become the next SUV, the next target.
Don't doubt me.
I'm not making a full-fledged prediction on this right now, just a warning.
Imagine the federal government taking away the country's borders.
Imagine the federal government just obliterating them.
That's what the states are battling.
We are all battling a form of tyranny here.
So what happens when the separation of powers concentrates in one branch of the government and there are no checks and balances.
So you go ahead, you cheer, and there are a lot of people are.
You go ahead and cheer the stripping of trademark rights of the Washington Redskins at your own risk.
I know some of you might be saying, well, what about...
What about uh the Florida Seminoles?
Um, what about um the Running Rebels?
That's a team mascot name.
That probably offends a lot of Norton's.
The running rebels.
How about the fighting Irish?
And I know what you're saying.
Rush, nobody's complaining about those.
That's right, not yet.
The answer.
You let them get away with this, and this is not the end of anything.
This isn't the solution to some cultural problem resulting in the consistent, constant pain of being offended, felt by a few people.
This will be the beginning, or I should say, actually, the continuation of even more all out assaults on private property rights.
If they offend anybody that's enshrouded in political correctness, the leftist or believes it, and simply wants to deny you what is yours.
So you go ahead, you cheer if you want the stripping of trademark rights from the Redskins.
No one is safe when the protections of a constitutional republic are stripped away.
There is no civil society when private property rights and individual rights are crushed at will on a whim by a centralized coercive government.
You take away private property rights and you may as well take away the right to free speech.
And that's exactly what has happened here to the Washington Redskins.
And there will be lots of cheering in the news media, in the sports media, throughout the civil rights coalition.
There will be all kinds of backslaps and cheers.
And they will not be any happier.
I want you to note that even if this holds up after all the appeals, and if the Redskins just have to sit there and grin and take it while their private property rights are dismantled, the people responsible for it will not be happy.
They never are.
They'll gloat maybe for a while, but they'll just be angrier and angrier at those things remaining.
That offend them.
And we'll set out to attack them.
Here's an audio soundbite from CNBC Squawk on the street today during a report about the patent office canceling the Redskins trademark registration.
This is the co-host Simon Hobbs.
There is a question whether federal agencies should have the right to cancel patents that may be valuable to the private sector on a whim.
And nobody obviously wants something that's racist out there, but there is a broader question here of something that is valuable that can be canceled in this way internally within a federal agency, surely.
Mr. Hobbs, I detect a British accent.
Did I am I right?
Was there British accent there?
Okay.
Mr. Hobbs, uh, this is the norm now.
We are being ruled by whim.
This is what I mean when I say the Obama presidency is not over.
It's just getting started.
Old Simon Hobbs here is kind of shocked.
He said, I can't believe this is Sam.
Private sector, you had me offensive, but what the hell?
You just can't come out there.
Something valuable like that just can't be canceled internally within a federal agency.
Sure.
Yeah, why they just did it, Simon.
What you need to note, Simon, is the people who are cheering this.
What will happen, the people who decry this are going to be focused on is racists and sexists, and you know the drill.
What really needs to be focused on the people who praise this, the people who approve this, the people who applaud this, they are the ones that we need to note.
They are the people others need to know about.
Certainly you and I, you know, we need to pick some profitable company out there that offends us.
Like Google.
And that name just bugs me.
It offends me.
Google.
I'm sure I could find others.
That we can we could steal their trademark.
I mean, if it's good for the goose, good for the gander.
Not the way to deal with it, I know, but simply making a point.
A brief timeout, ladies and gentlemen, we'll come back and the NBC Wall Street Journal poll, which just has the drive-by media in fits of depression.
They are so low.
They believe the regime is over.
Public opinion is everything to them, and they just.
By the way, there's I've looked at this poll, and it's bad for Obama, but it's not good for the Republicans either.
I mean, this this does not automatically mean when we get into it, you'll see what I mean that the Republicans are going to automatically benefit from this, because there are some other indications in this polling data, where we are culturally and socially, that are not what you and I would hope would be a majority.
I'll explain all of it after our first obscene profit timeout of the day.
Don't go away, folks.
Greetings and welcome back, Rush Limbaugh, meeting and surpassing all audience expectations every day.
By the way, I want to remind you, ladies and gentlemen, you can go and look it up.
On the quick hits page at rushlimbaug.com, January 9th of this year.
May I read to you what was posted.
Quote How the Feds will go after the Redskins.
And then the quote from me, the way the feds are going to get the redskins is the federal trademark office.
And I was going to spend some time on that today.
I ended up not getting to it that day on January 9th of this year.
Just back from the traditional two-week break between Christmas and New Year's.
And Catherine and I uh we we sometimes go to Hawaii.
And I remember reading uh show prep and getting ready for the return to action here, the EIB network.
And I came across that while away.
And I didn't I ended up not getting to it, and I'm gonna have to track it down now, but I just want you to know, and I want it on the record that we predicted this very thing back on January 9, 2014.
Washington Post today, Redskins patent office decision cheered by lawmakers as landmark decision.
Lawmakers cheered a decision with a patent trademark office that cancel a Redskins trademark registration, saying the ruling should finally convince the National Football League to reverse its decision to stick with the name deemed offensive by Native Americans.
Now I want to I want to add one thing here before we get to the NBC News Wall Street Journal poll.
This is not the patented trademark office.
This is Barack Obama.
One of the things in reporting out of Washington that has happened during this administration.
This is this is the executive branch.
All this stuff is coming out of the executive branch.
All of this, well, tyranny.
It's all coming from the executive branch.
And Obama owns the executive branch.
He is the executive branch.
But yet it's never reported that way.
It's never the Obama administration today canceled the trademark ownership and registration.
The Washington, no, Patent and Trademark Office, but nameless, faceless bunch of geeks.
Wrong.
Barack Obama's administration did this.
Barack Obama's administration lied to you about keeping your doctor.
Barack Obama's administration has basically erased the southern border of the United States and is allowing anybody in.
Barack Obama's administration is doing all of this.
And they're just now getting up to full speed.
It's not the patent and trademark office.
That's just the location of the implementation.
The thinking, the intellectual firepower, the desire, the instructions, the orders, the power to do this is coming right out of the White House.
Make no mistake about it.
IRS Obama, not Lois Lerner.
She was just the woman that implemented the desires slash demands that come from the White House.
This is all executive branch stuff.
And it's never reported that way.
The IRS today, five rogue agents in Cincinnati, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
No.
The White House.
The Obama administration.
In a sense, this is landmark.
Has a name ever been criminalized before?
Have we ever I don't know.
I'm just asking off the top of my head.
So in that sense, it may be landmark, but I told you it's going to be cheered, and you need to note the people cheering it.
Those people deserve to lose their next election.
The people cheering this, this is the simple taking of private property rights without any kind of due process whatsoever.
Zilch Zero Nada.
Could be any of us that somebody on the left claims to be offended by.
F. Chuck Todd on the Today Show today, co-host Savannah Guthrie, talking to F. Chuck about this devastating NBC News Washington Post poll.
She said foreign policy, which for many, many years was a strong suit of Obama's, is now suddenly tanking, Chuck.
It's cratering.
Then you have the crisis in Ukraine, and then you had the situation with the Bergdahl trade.
Then we can talk about the Iranian negotiation.
We can talk on the Middle East flaring up, and now the situation with Iraq.
Everything is a negative.
And these are now creating a situation lowest ever, lowest job rating, lowest approval rating among foreign policy.
It's in shock.
The new NBC poll shows Obama unpopular across the board.
Savannah Guthrie then said on competence.
Chuck on competence.
People who think the president is competent, 50% incompetent, 50%.
What happened, Chuck?
Well, this is a situation of the VA, and compare it to President Bush.
He's actually in a worse situation.
The Obama administration is seen as less competent than the Bush administration was post-Katrina.
This is as if the public is saying, hey, buddy, your presidency is over.
You may not believe it is, but your ability to lead and convince us that you have the right policies anymore.
We're not listening.
Doesn't matter, though, Chuck.
But you see, Chuck's and Chuck.
They're all in shock.
Obama is seen as less competent than Bush post-Katrina.
That's that's oh, you don't know how that hits them.
That's just the worst.
So, hey, buddy, the public is saying your presidency is over.
It isn't.
Not a broken record.
I'm just gonna tell you it'll get tired of hearing it.
It's just now starting.
On a cutting edge of societal evolution, Rush Limbaugh the Excellence Inn broadcasting network.
Just one clarifying thing.
I don't need to clarify myself.
I'm gonna clarify your understanding.
The uh patent and trademark office stripping ownership rights of the trademark Washington Redskins from the Washington Redskins does not require them to change their name.
It just means they are not the legal owners of the trademark.
And if it stands, anybody can market it, anybody can use it, anybody can make money off of it.
Theory being, this would hurt the ownership of the Redskins and the NFL.
They don't have exclusive ownership rights to the mark.
They don't get the profits from the sale of licensed merchandise.
That would force Snyder to change the name.
That's the thinking.
This is merely step one.
The important point here, the important thing to notice is the I I the utter audacity of the administration simply on a whim.
Utilizing power it does not have, utilizing legal steps it does not have to deny private property rights on a whim.
Political correctness.
That's the thing to note.
Just decided to do it.
And it's not the Patent of Trademark Office.
It is the Obama administration.
Now back to the NBC News Washington Post poll.
We last left Chuck Todd in shock on the Today Show.
The Obama administration seen as less competent than the Bush administration was post-Katrina.
Oh my God.
That's folks, that is the bottom of the barrel as far as they're concerned.
That's lower than Nixon.
That's worse than anything.
That's that's when everybody justifiably hates you.
Bush post-Katrina.
Total incompetence, total uncaring, total lack of uh of uh compassion.
Just utterly totally removed.
Don't care about the pain and suffering of anybody.
And Obama has sunk to lower levels than even Bush at that point in time.
They are devastated.
It's their own poll.
And so F. Chuck says this is as if the public is saying, hey, buddy, your presidency is over.
You may not believe it is, but your ability to lead and convince us that you have the right policies anymore, we're not listening.
Chuck, he hasn't had the right policies in day one.
He hasn't led on anything since day one.
He has imposed.
The people have of this country have been governed against their will since the beginning.
Obama has never had majority support for Obamacare.
He never led on the issue.
He doesn't have, he's not led on the issue of basically Opening the border.
He's doing this in defiance of public opinion.
Chuck, where have you been?
There has been no assemblage of majorities, either of thinking or of votes or whatever that backs up any of this other than Obamacare and the things they had to do in the darkness of night to get that vote.
But the American people have never been in support of this.
Washington Redskins will tell you that the Obama presidency is not over.
The millions of people who lost the doctor they liked and the health insurance policy they liked and saw their premiums and deductibles skyrocket.
They will tell you the Obama presidency is not over.
The families of people killed in Benghazi will tell you this administration and presidency is not over.
The president's release, by the way, I called it, and I've got a story, and it's coming up.
This guy that they captured.
Do you know this guy was interviewed by CNN and the New York Times a year ago?
All the regime would have had to do was pretend to be reporters, and they could have captured the guy.
There wasn't, I don't think there was that great a desire to capture the guy a year ago, but the media found him anyway.
There's a story in which it is reported that he blamed the video for making his group do what they did.
I told you, but I get ahead of myself.
The president is releasing mass murdering terrorists and replenishing the enemy from Guantanamo Bay.
That doesn't sound like a presidency which is over.
The president's hellbent on shutting down coal plants.
And just today, story coming up, the haughty John Kerry, who once, by the way, served in Vietnam, has declared that 10% of the world's oceans will now be placed off limits.
The destruction of the oceans.
You don't know how bad it is.
It's really, really well, they're gonna set up the equivalent of wildlife reserves for marine life.
Marine life reserves, you're not supposed to go in there and touch them.
You can't, you can't sail across.
I want to know what 10% they're gonna, you know what anyway, with all this going on.
This is John Kerry shutting down 10% of the oceans again on a hoax.
Remember, it was Ted Danson 1989, so we only got 10 years if we don't clean up the oceans, we're all dead.
That was 1989.
These people aren't just beginning, is my point.
There's nothing over here.
One more F Chuck soundbite, it's the kicker.
Savannah Guthrie says, Chuck, uh, do you still see a real Tea Party, non-Taarty split in the GOP?
And let me ask you about Hillary, because you took a poll basically asking, would you vote for Hillary to a general electorate?
And the numbers you got were saying yes, 38%, no, 37%, maybe 23%.
This is a reminder, she's not, you know, some of the media treat it's as if it's a coronation that President Clinton is an automatic in 2016.
The voter saying, no, she's not.
She's an automatic with Democrats.
Her numbers with Democrats are better now than they've ever been, much better than they were eight years ago.
With the rest of the public, it's another question.
Oh my gosh, folks, do you understand what they've just learned in their own poll?
The Hillary is not going to be coronated.
The Democrats love her, but elsewhere it's a toss-up.
She's not going to be coronated.
You need to understand.
These people, like Chuck Todd, and everybody else inside the beltway, to them, this is utterly devastating.
They live in a world where they think everybody looks at the world and events the way they do.
So they have a poll.
It's their own poll.
It's devastating for Obama.
And to them, when you get numbers like this, your presidency is over, and American people don't like you, and it's FINE.
But these people have a profound ignorance.
It's like they're behind a wall and cannot see this administration for what it is.
They plug Obama into the Democrat presidential peg, and they assign to him the behavioral modes, the structure of every Democrat president who's ever been, without looking at what he's really doing and what his policies really are.
There's no curiosity, there's no analysis.
And so in their world, which is very narrow, by the way, in their world, which is very small, in their world where every poll counts, like global warming is essentially a poll.
A poll of scientists combined with computer models has created an outright hoax.
There is no evidence of global warming.
But these people, my God, it's sizzling out there.
It's heating up.
It doesn't matter that the real temperature isn't moving.
That's not the narrative.
The narrative is it's going to in a hundred years because of X, Y, and Z. Never matters that X, Y, and Z is faulty data being in put.
So they don't see.
They don't see that polling data.
The regime is not going to be affected by this.
If anything, this is going to ramp up Obama even more.
This is not going to slow him down.
This is going to speed him up.
This is going to create spite.
This is going to create an Obama reaction in the regime of, oh yeah, you don't like me so far.
Well, watch this.
I keep thinking of Carpenters.
1969.
We've only just begun.
Just that's where we are.
One more before the break, and I'm going to get into the innards of this poll as it relates to Republicans.
F. Chuck didn't even see that.
And it's not good for Republicans, but it's so bad for Obama that it's just, I'm telling you, there's full-fledged panic and depression inside the whole media because of this poll.
On Squawkbox, back to CNBC, the guest chief Washington correspondent John Harwood, he's reporting on the poll and says this.
It's an ugly poll for Obama.
The high 30s, low 40s is sort of where presidents, when they're in big trouble.
He's getting the low the lower bounds here.
People are drawing the conclusion that events are controlling this president rather than the president controlling events, which obviously presidents don't control the world, but the accumulation of things, Iraq, Syria, problems with Russia and Ukraine, all of those things are uh making people feel as if uh the United States is uh weak at the moment, that the country's on the wrong track, and this is it's worrisome for Democrats.
Now, wait a minute now.
You know, this could be the first, it's a small one, I will admit, but this could be the first crack in the limbaugh theorem.
The limbaugh theorem explains how Obama never gets blamed for anything.
The limbaugh theorem explains how Obama is never held accountable.
The Limbaugh theorem explains how Obama distances himself from his own policies.
The Limbaugh theorem explains how he gets away with that with the media.
But if you listen to Harwood here, oh there's justification in blaming Obama for some of this stuff, particularly foreign policy.
So it could be a little crack, the limbaugh theorem.
Dick and Liz Cheney have a really good and powerful op-ed in the Wall Street Journal today called a collapsing Obama doctrine.
And they get right up to the moment of truth, and they just pull back slightly in leveling their charges, but the intent is clear.
It's devastating to Obama and to the regime, to his competence, to his policy, Foreign and domestic.
Really a good piece, and we'll try to get to it during the program today.
But another obscene profit timeout will come back in the innards of this NBC Wall Street Journal poll.
Your phone calls are next after that, so don't go away.
Came across a great.
By the way, you uh people don't like hearing about football and send me profane emails at rushlimbaugh.com.
I'm not going to like this, but a little football news here.
Not actually football news.
I came across a fascinating, funny quote from the late Steelers coach Chuck Knoll about the media.
It's actually quite funny.
It's actually quite appropriate.
Said you should treat the media the way they grow mushrooms, keep them in the dark, and feed them plenty of manure.
H.R. said when I told him that during the break, he didn't say manure, though, right?
I said, no, Chuck Knoll would have said manure.
Chuck Knoll did not engage in that kind of profanity.
All right, the NBC News Washington Post poll.
It is indeed very bad for Obama.
But it's irrelevant.
The poll means nothing to Obama.
His presidency is not over.
It's just getting started.
I say this because Obama is operating unilaterally.
He doesn't have to face voters anymore.
The lame duck analogy doesn't apply to Obama.
Mostly when the president reaches lame duck status, it's usually meant to be that he's powerless.
But that doesn't apply here to Obama.
His lame duck status simply means the fact that he doesn't have to face the voters anymore means there's no reason to hide.
There is no reason to camouflage.
There's no reason anymore to pretend to be something that he's not.
So now he's operating as he is.
He is unilaterally behaving.
He is not facing the electorate anymore.
He doesn't have to worry about losing an election and therefore pandering to the electorate.
He's dismissed Congress.
They don't exist.
So how is it over?
You know, this is a complete disconnect between popular opinion and his conduct.
It's, and I think this is really key, folks.
There's a complete disconnect.
Popular opinion doesn't matter.
And yet, to the media, popular opinion is everything.
And that's why they don't get this.
That's why they're not reading it correctly, as they don't understand.
I was going to say they don't understand Obama is.
And I in some ways they may not.
In other ways, they may be applauding all of it, but it ain't over.
And this huge disconnect between popular opinion and his conduct is, I think, a very important key.
Now, the news in this poll that hit me much the way exit polling data did in 2012.
I got the first wave at 5 o'clock.
I told you that when I saw the answers to two questions, I knew the election was over.
One of the questions was cares about people like me.
Obama 89 to 11% over Romney.
And then I saw that something like 60% still blame Bush for the economy.
I said, all right, well, this election's in the tank.
It's gone.
The innards of this poll hit me the same way.
For example, after the Obama administration announced new environmental protection agency regulations, meaning the 30% reduction in carbon emissions to wipe out the coal industry.
57% of the people in this poll say they approve of that.
57% approve of a proposal that would require companies to reduce greenhouse gases that cause global warming by 30%.
That I don't care what it says about Obama.
That's upsetting.
A combined 61% believe that climate change requires Either immediate action to combat it or some action.
By contrast, 37% say that the country doesn't know enough about it, or that it's unwarranted.
Now, this confuses this is the first poll I've seen in a long time where there is a majority of people believing in global warming.
Most of the polls on global warming show you the most people don't even care about.
So there are some things to be suspicious of here.
There's a couple others, but I gotta go.
Just a couple of more things from the NBC Wall Street Journal poll that I admit kind of bother me.
They don't cancel out the bad news about Obama, but still, that news doesn't even matter to Obama.
You just wait and see.
Much more here, folks.
Export Selection
