And here we are, folks.
Great to be back.
Happy to have you with us, Rush Limbaugh.
Talent on loan from God.
Meeting and surpassing all audience expectations every day.
And it's great to be with you.
This is it for me this week.
This is we're doing open line Friday and Wednesday today, so whatever you want to talk about, pretty much is fair game.
Mark Stein will be here tomorrow.
And who is it?
I forgot to write it down.
Buck Sexton will be here on Friday from the from the Blaze.com.
Yeah, and then after that, yeah, we're just gonna see how it goes next week.
Uh I'm gonna be someday next week I'll be back.
Uh but it just uh it's gonna depend on some some factors.
Well, bad words, it's gonna depend on some things.
And some point we'll be back.
Telephone number 800 282-2882.
I want to go back to this Claire Shipman soundbite with uh with Megan Kelly last night on the Fox News channel, Claire Shipman has new book called The Confidence Code, the science and art of self-assurance, what women should know.
And Megan Kelly said, we, speaking for the sisterhood, we need confidence, but we don't have it.
Now, Megan has it.
She's not speaking, she's speaking of the sisterhood there.
She's what she's saying is she's accepting the premise of Shipman's book that women don't, that there's a confidence gap.
There's a confidence gap between men and women.
Something Obama's gonna have to address, by the way.
And most women don't have confidence, Kelly asks.
She asked Claire Shipman why.
A lot of reasons.
Some of them we were surprised to find biological.
Yes, it's controversial, but we did find that there are some differences in the way men and women think.
Testosterone matters because testosterone really drives risk taking.
We're built differently.
There are a lot of great things that women bring to the table.
There's a reason why women help the bottom line of companies when we're there.
But we need to get better at risk taking.
We need to get better at failure.
And this is what we found.
I am constantly amazed, I guess I shouldn't be, but I'm constantly amazed that liberals are amazed when they find out that men and women are different.
Because what must you think before that?
If you are told that many of you, if you discover that men and women are different, what what must you believe?
That we're the same?
And if you believe that, why do you believe that?
Who in the world would believe that men and women are the same?
Hello, feminism.
Hello, militant feminism, hello, liberalism, hello this effort that the left is making that everybody's the same, and that everybody's equal, and we can devise command and control central policies that will treat and affect everybody the same.
And that is the hubris and the arrogance of liberalism.
That essentially they don't believe in individuality.
And they certainly don't believe in rugged individualism and individuality.
Everybody is the same.
And then they come along and they discover like Time magazine.
You've heard this this rift, Time magazine to cover in 1995, a cover story on their discovery that boys and girls are born different.
And so here now is Claire Shipman discovering that we were surprised to find biological differences.
Come why in the world would you be surprised at biological differences in men and women?
Seriously, folks, I when digging deep to understand these people, which I've done, there's some things that just boggle the mind.
And then yes, it's controversial to believe that men and women are different, but we found there are some differences in the way men and women think, and we know it's controversial to say that.
Why is it controversial to say that men and women think differently?
Everybody who's ever been in a relationship knows it.
Everybody really, it just what must be the foundational belief going into this that she believed.
What's the difference in having a little boy, little girl?
If you're a parent, why does it matter?
If everybody's the same.
If there's no difference in men and women, what is what does it matter?
If they're all the same.
Testosterone matters.
Because testosterone drives risk taking.
We're built differently.
All of this is controversial.
All of this is surprising.
So now we've got a confidence gap.
And women need to learn how to fail better.
And I understand what she means by that.
Well, I think I do.
I think what she's saying is that when women fail, it crushes them.
And they give up and don't try again.
She says, we need to get better at failing, and I'm assuming, benefit of the doubt, she means we need to get better at learning from it.
I don't think she means women need to get good at it.
I really can't possibly think that.
Biden would say that, but she wouldn't believe it.
She's obviously thinking they need to learn from it better.
And so there's a confidence gap out there.
And I guarantee you, if if Obama could turn this into some kind of an election issue or turn this into the war on women, why is there a confidence gap?
Is it men's fault the way they treat women?
Don't put it past him.
Uh it's just it just I don't know, folks.
It just continues to boggle my mind some of the things that they grow up believing and acting on and devising policies to deal with just boggles the mind.
Here's something else that boggles my mind.
The Huffing and Puffington Post has actually done a piece highlighting Obamacare victims.
And we've sat here over the course of the rollout of Obamacare.
And you know, if a Republican had ever devised a program like this and it had it rolled out as dismally as this did, you know as well as I do that the Democrats and the media would have an endless parade of victims of the Republican policy.
And it'd be all over television.
They'd be brought into congressional and senate hearings, and their sob stories would be all over everywhere for the low information voters to absorb.
And I've wondered why haven't the Republicans gone out and found these victims?
And there are plenty of people who've had their insurance canceled.
People who were told they could keep their doctor and found out they couldn't.
People who were told for three years lied to, so you keep your plan if you like it.
They couldn't.
There's obviously there boku amount of victims out there.
And of all places, the Huffing and Puffington Post has highlighted Obamacare victims, and it is causing quite a stir out there on the left.
The piece is called How Obamacare Leaves Some People Without Doctors.
And it uh it obviously is a departure from the Huffing and Puffington Post's usual embrace of Obamacare.
It features the voices of customers from covered California who are already dissatisfied with the with the health insurance that they bought through the covered California Exchange.
Here's a 35-year-old new Los Angeles mother, Ruth Iorio.
And she told the Huffing and Puffington Post, my insurance is pretty useless.
I don't know what to do.
I may just drop it for myself and keep my son on it.
It's really depressing.
Ayorio says that her Obamacare plan's worthless because after over a dozen calls, she still can't find doctors who accept her Obamacare plan who are also practicing in a hospital that accepts her coverage.
Voila.
This is the old is your doctor in the network question.
Is your hospital in the network?
You may go out and go to healthcare.gov or covered California and Exchange and get a policy.
You may get covered.
Then you find out your doctor's not in the network that your policy covers or the hospital that you want to go to is not in the network.
And people have found this all over the country.
But of all places, the Huffing and Puffington Post has gone out and found these victims.
Prior to buying through the California Obamacare Exchange, Ruth Iorio Had an individual blue shield plan that cost less and covered a wide array of doctors and hospitals.
Her plan is so bad that after giving birth to her son, she learned that her Obamacare plan didn't cover her UCLA OBGYN.
It forced her to pay out of pocket even though she had insurance.
I'm paying $500 a month, and every doctor I'm calling is saying, no, I can't see you.
She said, Obamacare is making me feel like a second class citizen.
Ireo is not alone, according to the Huffing and Puffington Post, there's another woman, Gnome Friedlander.
She's 40.
She needed back surgery for a herniated disc.
She thought that her Obamacare plan would cover the costs.
But after spending days on the phone and hours on hold, making dozens of calls across Southern California, trying to match a surgeon with a hospital that would both be covered, she came to a stark realization, which was no one could help me.
Some expressed sympathy.
They told me, I'm sorry, it's all just so new.
You're a victim of the changes.
Nobody knows what they're doing, Friedlander said.
She called 20 surgeons, five hospitals.
She had to get two credit cards to pay $16,000 out of pocket.
And up front.
Had to pay up front.
Which, by the way, is how it used to be.
I had to go to the doctor recently.
Thank you.
And he said, we were talking about this network and uh people having insurance but not being covered with certain doctors' hospitals, and he got off on a tangent and he started.
I mean, this epitomizes the problem.
He said, I got people driving in here, they're driving in here in Mercedes, and they're demanding that their insurance company pay for a $50 whatever.
And he said, the point is is that the problem is that people, no matter how rich or poor they are, the the population of this country somehow has has come to believe that they shouldn't have to pay for health care, period.
They'll pay for insurance, but when it comes to actually paying for health care, they don't think they should have to.
And they'll do anything to get an insurance plan or policy to cover even the smallest expense.
And that is exactly right.
And that is that is why folks, health care costs are spiraled, because the cost of things is not related in any market way to what people can afford.
They can't, so some things they can afford, and even those, this doctor was telling me they refuse to pay.
They look for some insurance plan or some other mechanism to pay for even the cheapest things, because they believe that they shouldn't have to pay.
And I'll tell you, there's one entity to whom we owe this reality, and that's the Democrat Party.
I know it may sound easy to say, come on, Rush, you're dumping everything on these people.
I'm sorry.
It happens to be true.
These are the people that have devised these policies.
Sure, there's been some Republicans voted for it and gone along with it.
I'm I'm not, I'm not trying to say that the Republicans, every damn one of them, is a great alternative to it.
Sadly, that's that's not the case at all.
But the people have been driving this, the people that have been forcing us in this direction has been the Democrat Party.
Was Harris Wafford, who ran for the Senate in Pennsylvania back in uh, I don't know, the 90s, and his campaign slogan was if the Constitution guarantees you a lawyer, it ought to guarantee you a doctor.
We pay for your lawyer if you get charged with something you can't afford it.
Well, we ought to be paying your doctor to people just vacuumed that right up.
They just love, and that's become the way most people look at this now.
That somebody else should pay for it.
They don't care who, and they don't care how much.
It's just that they don't have to pay for it.
They don't think they should have to pay for it.
And until that changes, none of this is really ever going to get fixed.
Now we've got this endless parade of victims.
See, I say, well, why is the Huffing and Puffington Post of all places doing This.
I'll tell you why.
And I'm I'm not trying to throw cold water on this, but the Huffing and Puffington Post, a very valued leftist media outlet, is not doing this to harm Obama.
They're not doing this because they want to get rid of Obamacare like you and I want to get rid of it.
The people at the Huffing and Puffington Post are pushing actively for single payer.
Which is what we predicted the left would do when this didn't work.
The whole point, the reason that the Huffing and Puffington Post is doing this is to say, see, it's an honorable attempt, but it doesn't work.
The only way to make this work is just get rid of the middlemen, get rid of the third parties, get rid of the insurance companies, and just have the government do it.
Socialize medicine, everybody on Medicare.
Period.
Done.
Over with.
That's why they're pushing this.
That's why they are highlighting the victims.
In their world, Obamacare doesn't work because it doesn't go far enough in the direction of total government control.
So don't be fooled if you see this.
Wow, man, Obama's even losing the Huffington Puffington Plus.
He's not losing anybody on this on the left.
They're taking the occasion of this chaos and this programmed inefficiency to move the ball further and faster toward single payer, which we gotta stop using that term because that doesn't bother anybody.
Single payer sounds like it makes sense.
It's socialized medicine is what they want.
The government paying everybody, which means you and me and everybody else paying.
Quick time out.
We'll be back.
We will continue much more straight ahead here on the EIB network.
And back to the phones to uh JR, Raleigh, North Carolina.
Great to have you on the program.
Hello.
Hey, Rush, how are you, buddy?
Just fine, buddy.
I'm glad to hear from you.
Say, I'm a longtime listener, and we love you out here, man.
Uh I just want to see uh you uh you heard what I heard on the news this morning.
I got the biggest laugh out of what Obama done over the weekend.
What did he do?
Him and Putin were playing Don't See My Battleship over the telephone.
On that Russian planes was buzzing on one of our ships out there in the Black Sea, and he called Putin.
And they they were disgusted on the telephone.
Now, what do you think Obama said to him?
Oh he called kissed his ass, I'm sure, but uh, I don't know.
I just thought it was funny that, you know.
Well, what do you think Putin's doing buzzing our buzzing our uh uh our ship?
Well, he I think he's just dare in uh Obama to make a move, to do something.
No, it's not what he's doing.
I don't think he's laughing at him, I know that.
Well, that that may be that there may there may be some of that.
But I'll tell you what's what's Putin's been doing this for a while.
Uh Russia has these giant bombers, these giant propeller uh airplanes called the bear, the bear bomber.
And they've got other big airplanes, and they when this when the Soviet Union went kaput when the Berlin Wall fell down and and the Soviet Union went out of business, those airplanes and those military flights, spy flights and something got grounded.
Putin came back into power, and for years those planes have been flying what appear to be reconnaissance missions again, and getting very close to U.S. territory, even continental United States, CONUS territory.
So it's not new that Putin would be doing.
I think Putin's flexing his muscles.
I think Putin is um, I don't know if he's daring Obama to respond, but but but buzzing our ship, it was I was last weekend or last week with a number of different flybys, is um it is a bit of a challenge.
You know, it is it's Putin telling everybody who he is.
Whether he I don't know that he's trying to goad Obama into any kind of a response.
Uh, but he certainly is the old-fashioned way.
He's just demonstrating manhood here.
And at the same time, trying to demonstrate that his opponents are afraid of him.
And trying to demonstrate that he's intimidating his opponents.
Let me put it this way.
Remember Mikhail Stigavich?
Mikhail Sagavich Gorbachev had that birthmark on his.
Did you ever notice that thing I pointed out constantly was growing when he ran Soviet Union?
It coincided with Soviet expansionism.
So did at birthmark.
You can see the East Coast, you can see Florida on that birthmark.
If Putin had one, it would be growing right now.
That's what all this military activity really means.
Half my brain tied behind my back just to make it fair, Rush Limboy.
You're tuned to the most listen to radio talk show in America, the most talked about radio talk show in America, the most talked about radio talk show host in America.
That would be me.
And we are here, the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
As long as I am here, it doesn't matter where here is.
We're doing open line Friday on Wednesday, 800-282-2882.
They have a great example here of media deception.
Media distortion.
It's a Reuters story.
This story earlier this morning was at the top of the Yahoo news portal, which means a whole bunch of low information people saw this.
And here is the headline.
Americans increasingly preferred Democrats on health care.
Colin, Reuters slash Ipsos poll.
Here's the first paragraph.
Americans increasingly think Democrats have a better plan for health care than Republicans, according to a Reuters poll conducted after the White House announced that more people than expected had signed up for the Obamacare Health Plan.
This, folks, is the propaganda machine at its most blatant.
You look at this headline, and if you read the headline, which is what most people read, you're supposed to believe it.
More and more people now love Obamacare.
And more and more people think Obamacare is the way to go.
And more and more people think the Democrats are the ones that have all the answers.
But that's not what the article says at all.
For starters, this was an online poll.
Which means it was meaningless.
It's an online poll where you just vote.
Those are meaningless.
Guess what?
Anyone can vote as they like.
There were only 799 votes in this poll.
Less than 800 people in the so-called sample.
But most importantly, what does it mean that nearly a third of the online voters prefer the Democrat plans for health care?
The poll shows that one-third of Americans prefer the Democrats plan.
And that gave us a headline.
Americans increasingly preferred Democrats on health care.
It is still a majority.
But the one-third is a little bit more than what it was in their previous so-called poll.
So the number of people that vote, Democrat, increased a little, and that becomes Americans increasingly prefer.
But they don't prefer.
It's just one third of voters prefer the Democrat health plan.
By the way, what Democrat Health Plan?
There is no Democrat health plan.
There's Obamacare, which is so-called the law of the land.
What is it?
Americans increasingly think Democrats have a better plan for health care than Republicans.
What do you mean have a better plan?
And then the other side of this is what is the Republican plan?
Does anybody know what the Republican plan is?
Reuters doesn't spell out what the Republicans' plan is in the story.
Nearly one third of respondents in the survey released on Tuesday said they preferred Democrats' plan, policy, or approach compared to 18% for Republicans.
That means 33, 18, 51 means 49% didn't answer one way or the other.
And from that we get Democrats increasingly prefer, and low information voters at Yahoo are going to soak this up and they're going to believe it.
And this is media propaganda at its worst or best, depending on how you look at it.
So it's an online poll, which makes it meaningless.
How many people have ever heard the Republican plan?
Reuters doesn't tell them what it is in the story.
Harry Reid has blocked every Republican plan for moving forward in the Senate.
And the media have imposed a blackout on any of the Republican alternative plans for health care.
There have been some, but they don't get reported.
Not a surprise.
From a standpoint I can't believe they're doing it.
I totally believe it.
I'm just giving you an example here of the latest example of the propaganda.
Here from the UK Daily Mail, air pollution in China and other Asian countries is causing storms in North America to become stronger and changing weather patterns in the northern hemisphere.
This, according to a new National Academy of Sciences study.
Researchers found that pollutants are strengthening storms over the Pacific, which feeds into weather systems in other parts of the world.
So it's not the EVU United States.
It's the EV CHECOMs, apparently now, who are responsible for dramatic strengthening of storms because of their pollution.
The lead author from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory said, there appears to be little doubt that these particles from Asia affect storms sweeping across the Pacific, and subsequently the weather patterns in North America and the rest of the world.
The pollution results in thicker and taller clouds and heavier precipitation.
And it's all the Chicot's fault.
And I happen to have over here on my right side of 23 global warming and climate change stories all Americans should read before Earth Day.
Earth Day is uh April 22nd.
It was a week from yesterday.
And this is the independent journalism review, and all they've done is gone back to the Nexus database, and they have found 23 independent news stories debunking the whole notion of man-made global warming.
Give me a sample.
Humans not to blame for global warming, says Greenpeace co-founder, James Hansen.
This is the NASA propagandist.
James Hansen admits global temperature standstill is real.
Number three, gay scientist, James Lovelock.
I was alarmist about climate change.
Number four, climate gate U-turn, a scientist at center of row admits there has been no global warming since 1995.
Number five, climate expert von Storch.
Why is global warming stagnating?
That's in Der Spiegel.
Number six, warming plateau, climatologists face inconvenient truth.
Der Spiegel.
German public television stuns its readers, concedes medieval warm period may have been a half a degree Celsius warmer than today.
Well, the medieval warm period, that's Michael Mann's famous hockey stick diagram.
And the whole of the middle medieval warming period was supposedly much cooler.
And that's the basis of showing we had so much warming in now.
They may have found it's actually warmer then than today, which would debunk the whole thing.
Why has global warming stalled BBC?
Global warming pause, central to IPCC climate report, BBC.
There's 23 of these things.
23 independent stories that are out there that never got promulgated in the in the into the mainstream, and they never got trumpeted that point out that everything the warmest are saying isn't true.
It isn't getting warmer.
It wasn't that much cooler long ago.
It's such a hoax.
I was reading my tech blogs yesterday after the uh program.
I forget which one it was, but it was just it's it was kind of sad.
You know, these young 25, 30-year-old people.
And it just it was it this thing had to be, it it had to be 3,000-word post on a uh tech blog, a computer tech blog, and it was just slavish, total devotion to the United Nations.
And the intergovernmental panel on climate change or whatever, and just whatever these people, there was no questioning, there was no doubt, there was no curiosity, there was no suspicion.
It was just a total recitation of the absolute BS that that that comes out of the the UN on this.
And that's just one person, but it was still kind of disheartening to see this this total slavish devotion to it.
And then there was this arrogant assumption that we know it all and you don't, and the people that don't believe this are nutcases and so forth.
And I don't know.
I just I guess it boils not.
I I hate, I really hate seeing young people's minds ruined.
And I hate seeing them participate in the ruination.
This went beyond politics.
This one this went beyond just the young young little leftist believing everything the UN said.
This was just uh it had many more components to that.
I gotta take a break.
I just saw the clock.
Sit tight, my friends.
We have more.
We always have more.
We're never ever finished here at the EIB network.
Yeah, it is.
It's a state-sponsored religion.
That that's that's why my little tech buddy is just totally devoted, whatever the UN says.
I you I can't adequately describe how disheartening it was.
I hope I'm conveying just total, total belief in and it was all BS.
This guy thought he was being brilliant, reciting all the science.
And the answer to it, it is a state-sponsored religion.
Global warming is.
And by the way, now about the CHICOMs, all of a sudden, out of the clear blue, it's CHICOM pollution affecting our weather pattern.
Is that now settled science?
Why are we just hearing about this now?
How come we haven't heard about this before?
It's like those five new greenhouse gases that nobody knew about until last month.
But somehow we discovered five new ones and it makes it all even worse.
Meanwhile, the CHICOMs are building something like five soft coal power plants a week.
They are not going to participate in any of this.
They're not gonna shut down their own economic growth no matter, no matter what.
Anyway, I just folks, I just got an email with a picture.
There is a guy on Wilshire Avenue, just standing there on Wilshire Avenue somewhere with a miniature boom box listening to this program.
He's called Goat Man.
I just got an email from a friend who encountered this guy on Wilshire, smiling with his mini boom box, and he's got this program blaring on it.
So I thought, well, I've got to give this guy a shout out.
He's listening to K-E-I-B-A-M.
Of course, they've named a station after the network here, folks.
Um, and and this guy's tuned in at K E I B. He's smiling, he's holding his boom box, is dressed in all black, he's on Wilshire, and he's calls himself a goat man.
No, no, he's not homeless.
No, no, no, no, he's not homeless.
He just uh just has his place there on the street.
I guess he's like a human billboard for the program that I only just heard about.
Jackie in Canton, Ohio.
I want to get to you before we have to get out of here today.
Hi.
Hi.
Um I uh so glad that I got through and able to talk to you today.
Thank you.
I wanted to get your opinion um or what you think about the millennials maybe possibly not waking up till it's too late.
Um, like our grandparents didn't foresee, I mean, I don't think they ever thought that the pressure would really happen.
And I'm just wondering if you think that something like that isn't gonna, you know, be what it takes to wake these people up.
Yeah, I you know, I know what you um what you mean.
I have been asking that question, Jackie, about people in general, not just the millennials.
I've been asking that question for 25 years.
When are people gonna wake up to X Clinton?
When are people gonna wake up to Hillary?
When are people gonna wake up to Obama?
When are people gonna wake up to?
And here we are in the midst of absolute disaster.
And they don't seem to be waking up to it.
Um, so it I don't know.
I keep thinking that we've bottomed out at some point.
We've got to start the rebound, and yet that hasn't happened yet either.
Just keep plugging away is uh is all you can do.
And at some point, it will happen.
Of that I am totally confident.
Thank you so much for being with us today, folks.
That's it.
Uh out of time for today.
Mark Stein will be here tomorrow, and I will be back at some point next week, soon as uh as is possible.
And as always, hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend, and thank you so much for being with us today.
