Time Text
Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
Do you know that at the White House yesterday the president actually said in his never-ending quest to revive old tired, worn-out, yet polarizing political issues.
And he brings up this equal pay business.
Do you realize he even had the temerity to say that women's dry cleaning bills are more expensive than men's?
How old is that one?
I have the solution to that.
New vacuum cleaners and new irons and new washing machines for every woman.
And that way they don't have to go to the dry cleaners.
Greetings, folks, great to have you, Rush.
Well, that's what they would say I would do if I were president.
A new ironing board in every home.
Greetings, folks, great to have you.
L. Rushbaugh, the EIB network of the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
The phone numbers 800-282-2882 and the email address L Rushbow at EIBNet.com.
I'll tell you something really happened.
And people when I used to tell the story, people thought I was making a joke, but I'm uh i it's true.
Back in the early days of modern militant feminization.
Not to be confused with the current days of militant epheminazis.
I'm talking about the formative days of the modern era of the militant feminazi movement.
They were demanding the women's were it was this was uh Gloria Steinem, Betty for Dan that crowd.
Uh and then a little bit later when Gloria Allred.
They were all demanding that all male business and social clubs be made to admit women.
And that of course fed my theory that what the militant feminists really wanted was to be like men.
They felt men were denying them and freezing them out of whatever it was that was cool, men were doing, and they simply wanted in on it.
They didn't want to form their own gal-related, gal-oriented uh clubs or organizations they wanted to infiltrate what the guys were doing.
And there was some club in it was either Los Angeles or San Francisco, I forget which now, that was targeted, and they finally relented.
And uh after a while, the the women demanded their own gym, their own workout room.
And the the board of directors of the club again acquiesced, and the first piece of equipment in the gym was a vacuum cleaner.
And I tell that story, people think I'm making a joke, and I um I wasn't it actually happened.
I just can't remember the name of the uh of the club.
Uh uh one way to reduce dry cleaning expenses for women is to stay away from Bill Clinton.
Uh remove a lot of stains from your clothing that way, and and by necessitating the uh well, not necessitating a need for any dry cleaning.
Folks, as you have probably heard by now, since even CNN interrupted their Malaysian airplane coverage, and they're still covering it.
And do you know after all this time, not one bit of debris has been spotted, despite all those false alarms.
Uh they thought they heard some pings yesterday, but I guess they weren't.
They've heard another ping today.
They're not giving up the story, but they did break away from it.
They did interrupt their coverage of Malaysian Flight 370 because there's a stabbing spree at a Haskell in Murraysville, Pennsylvania.
It's outside Pittsburgh, it's in western Pennsylvania, and the reports are early yet, so we don't yet know if there is a tea party or talk radio connection.
I'm smiling.
I can imagine.
Well, no, no, it would not be somebody upset with Obama here.
That's the point.
You know that Ryan Ross, somebody's trying to find a Tea Party connection to this.
They're desperate To find the name of the well, it's not a shooter, the stabber, and they're desperately trying to, and we do know that the stabber is a student.
So they're gonna try to find the stabbers' parents, and they're desperately going to see if they can find a talk radio or tea party connection.
You know it as well as I do.
We don't yet know if the stabber used an assault knife, however.
There are still a lot of details that have uh yet to be uh learned.
Suppose they're 20 injuries, but all of the injured are expected to survive.
Some are still in surgery.
You remember uh ladies, oh, before I get to that, I've got a I've got to play for what happened on Red Eye last night, the show at 3 a.m. on Fox, hosted by Greg Guttfeld.
They had Nick Cersei on.
Well, last night was the season finale of Justified.
And I'm sure some of you haven't had a chance to see it yet and have uh T-voted or otherwise, you know, stream it later and watch it.
So I'm not gonna give anything away, but I'll just tell you that if you have been following this season, you won't be disappointed in the uh well, no, you won't.
I'm I'm I wasn't.
It uh it was it was it was satisfying.
Nick Cersei plays Sheriff Art.
Uh Raylan uh Rayland's boss in the sheriff's office in this series, and Cersei was on last night, and earlier in the season, grab somebody won a earlier in the season on previous episode,
uh Art was on a stake out in his car outside a diner somewhere in Kentucky, and he had the radio on, and he was listening to this program, and here's how that sounded.
You have to listen carefully, but it is me on this part doing a morning update, not actually listening to the program, they're they're doing a more and they got permission.
We knew it was gonna well, they didn't know when it was gonna happen.
They sought permission and we uh naturally granted it, and this is how it happened.
National Low Income Housing Coalition issued a report, and they found that low-income households can only afford 495 dollars a month.
nationally average two-bedroom for heart rate to 977.
Now the plight of homeless families is not from page two.
They're one of the prime TV talk show hostesses interviewing homeless children.
Four homeless children.
So they wish to have a child.
So our great place is to sleep on outdoor grades on cold rainy nights.
So he's sitting there in the official sheriff car unmarked, and he's just is he's watching bad guys, get an eye on somebody coming going out of a diner, listening to this program, and it later goes in the diner.
It's a great scene.
They had him on uh Red Eye last night, and they brought this up.
The fact that this was you, this is a tape of my program or more morning update.
And uh Greg Guttfeld said, you know, these are these are characters that you don't see in other shows.
The all the characters on justified, because they're subtle, but they're very interesting people.
And writers do a really good job about keeping it real to what that part of the country is.
A lot of veterans there, and uh, you know, also one of the things they've done with my character this year is that they had me listening to Rush Limbaugh on the radio.
It's in keeping with what Kentucky's like.
It makes perfect sense that I would do that.
My wife's from Kentucky, so we go to Owensboro quite a bit.
It's great fun.
And by the way, his real wife portrayed his wife in the last three episodes of the of the series this year.
And he's right.
We own Kentucky, but we own everywhere.
He's he's absolutely right, but we just we don't want to limit our ownership of the country to one state.
Nothing against Kentucky.
We do own it.
There's no question about it.
Um but anyway, Nick's a great guy.
I've since gotten to meet him.
I went out and spoke to the friends of Abe Group uh secret, well, no, it's not secret location, it was a secret time.
It was at the Reagan Library, and uh he's a big fan of this program, huge fan.
He he uh he's a tweetster, tweets a lot out there.
He's in direct and daily contact with uh with his fans.
Now, you remember there's so many things about Obamacare, and we've got a huge Obamacare stack today.
If you also have a really interesting story about global warming, it's actually a column in the New York Times, a couple of global warmists.
Supporters actually have written a piece chiding all of these people trying to scare everybody into believing it.
It's interesting.
I, of course, will parse that piece for you as the program unfolds today before your very eyes and ears.
There's a companion story.
Show you how literally ridiculous this is.
There's a serious story.
Scientists are trying to engineer a methane free cow.
A fart free cow.
On the theory that that is leading to massive damaging climate changes.
It's just absurd.
But it is a way to get grant money and research money, and that's how these people make a living.
They don't actually work and they don't actually produce anything, they just feed from the public teat.
And any number of them do it.
And this is how they survive.
This is how they this is how they live.
They don't have jobs, they don't have salaries, they live off of taxpayer money, grant money or fundraising, siphon some of that.
Now the old Obamacare stack, you remember you probably don't, because when I read the story, I had to jog my own memory and remind myself that I had made the very point.
It's a C I told you so in this story.
Because there's been so much to say about Obamacare in explaining it, and there have been so many things to predict about it that are coming true.
One of the things that I had said in the past that I frankly forgotten till I have this story, saw this in the C AP story, was it wouldn't be long, wasn't going to be long before massive criticism of doctors erupted.
But that criticism would take the form of why should people treating the sick become rich?
Remember?
It was going to be, I warned you, a class warfare assault on doctors.
Why should anybody make anything making people sick?
Why should there be profit in helping the sick get well?
I predicted that the left would be on this case and that they would target doctors with it.
Why in the world, especially not just can make a profit and not just get paid?
Why should people get rich treating the sick?
Why should that be a source of wealth?
That's a public duty.
That is a community responsibility.
We should all be trying to help the sick and the helpless and the starving and the thirsty.
Why should anybody get paid and why should anybody get rich?
And lo and behold.
Here comes the first installment in the effort to stigmatize doctors as undeserving profiteers.
It comes from the AP, and I think I think the memo has gone out from the regime.
Time now to bash Medicare.
As I predicted, doctors are the next heavies here.
Why should they make so much money?
And this story is the I think it's the it's the first move or one of the first moves in an effort to open a war on Medicare and doctors.
The headline is database, some doctors getting millions from Medicare.
And you're supposed to get mad when you see that headline.
And you're supposed to be outraged.
Medicare paid a tiny group of doctors, three million dollars or more each in 2012.
One doctor got nearly twenty-one million dollars.
Those are among the findings of an associated press analysis of doctor data released Wednesday by the Obama regime, part of a move to open the books on health care financing.
We're not opening the books on health care financing.
Health care financing is Obamacare.
By the way, CBO, I think does have it.
The latest cost on Obamacare is now two trillion dollars and climbing.
Two trillion dollars in climbing.
It sort of takes you back to those heady days when they told us we're going to be able to pull all this off for 900 billion.
It was going to cost less than the Iraq war, Mr. Limbaugh.
And then that in that way it was going to net cost us nothing.
We were just going to replace the obscene immoral cost of the Iraq war with the humanitarian cost of Obamacare.
Well, we've blown through that first trillion, and now we're up to two trillion dollars.
And there's no end in sight to this.
So this little paragraph, tiny group of doctors, paid $3 million or more each in 2012.
One of these evil charlatans got $21 million.
Those are among the findings of an AP analysis of doctored data released by the regime, part of a move to open the books.
Know what this is part of a move to open a war on Medicare and doctors.
Because don't forget, again, there's so much to remind people that has happened that they've forgotten because it's just enough to keep up with present day.
Don't forget this regime was the one who cut $700 billion from Medicare and transferred it to Obamacare to keep the original cost under a trillion dollars.
It was all part of the original fraud.
They cut $700 billion in Medicare.
Romney tried to make a big deal of it in the campaign.
So they they take $700 billion away from Medicare, because see the Medicare fees are too costly now.
Oh no, these doctors, looking how they're profiting.
This is not moral, Mr. Limbaugh.
This is not right.
And that that money, that $21 million, that one doctor, $3 million to the other doctor, that money could be going to food stamps.
And that money could be going to unemployment extension benefits.
That money could be going to Obamacare.
That money could be going to Medicaid.
That money could be going to the poor, but no, it's ending up in the back pockets of the doctors, and that's outrageous.
And naturally, it's those greedy doctors who are the big culprits here.
The greedy doctors are guarantee you are going to become culprits number one in runaway Obamacare costs.
I knew it was going to happen.
I warned you about it, and here comes the first planting of that flag thanks to the Associated Press working in conjunction with the regime.
I went back and found a July 17th, July 18th, 2012.
We're coming up on two years ago.
I made this prediction.
And here's what I said.
All this talk about profit.
Why should there be profit?
Why should anybody make any money when they sell something?
It's like I told you yesterday.
They're going to go after doctors next.
And I'll tell you how Obama's going to go after doctors.
I want you doctors to listen to me because what's gonna be said is just immoral, just not right that people should get so wealthy treating the sick.
Why should there be profit in that?
Why should there be obscene profit?
Why should doctors be so rich?
Which they're not anymore, but the cliche is that they are.
Stereotype is that they are.
Why should they be?
They're treating the sick.
Why should there be any profit?
Why shouldn't that just be Volunteer work.
So that was July of 2012.
And by the way, it wasn't a great prediction.
Obama hadn't led me into it.
Obama, in selling Obamacare in the early stages.
Remember all those stories about doctors who did unnecessary tonsolectomies to earn an initial 40,000?
How about doctors who did unnecessary amputations?
Take you back to the beginning as this, you have to remember Obama in selling Obamacare launched on the doctors.
They were the incarnate of evil.
They were the primary reason everything cost so much.
They didn't work very hard, they cheated you, they put you out on the operating table, and they did things to you you didn't agree to, and they charged you extra for it, and your insurance company paid and they got rich, and they would just as soon exploit you as treat you.
And I couldn't understand that why are the doctors going along with this?
Or why were some?
Why were some hospitals going?
Why didn't people see at the time what we were headed for?
Okay, since you don't remember, and since some of you left us thinking of making it up, let's go back.
There's even YouTube audio and video of this, but I'll just read it to this Obama back in 2009.
And you'll remember this when you hear it again.
Obama said, let's take the example of something like diabetes.
A disease that's skyrocketing, partly because of obesity, partly because it's not treated as effectively as it could be.
Right now, if we pay the family, if a family care physician works with his or her patient to help them lose weight, modified diet, monitors whether they're taking their medication in a timely fashion, they might get reimbursed appittance.
But if that same diabetic ends up getting their foot amputated, that's $30,000, 40,000, $50,000 immediately to the surgeon who is reimbursed.
A couple of weeks before Obama suggested that a surgeon's decision to remove a child's tonsils is based on the desire to make a lot of money.
So here's the president who's in 2009 selling Obamacare, and he's basically accusing doctors of mistreating people with diabetes, instead just going for the amputation, letting it get so bad that Gan Green sets in one of the extremities, and we have to amputate because there's 30, $40,000, $50,000 in that.
That was just one of the...
My gosh, for the never-ending things this man was saying that was just literally ticking me off.
This was undisguised character assassination of an entire industry.
He didn't name a doctor, he named them all.
He accused them all, knowing full well what he's doing.
He knows that people don't like doctors.
He knows that people think doctors don't have good bedside manner, that doctors are arrogant, that doctors don't have time for them, that the nurse sees them in the hospital, the doctor comes, does his grounds, spends 10 minutes and goes plays golf.
So Obama piles on.
Oh yeah, and the reason you're in the hospital is because they didn't take care of your diabetes in the first place.
They just wanted it to get worse, so then they can cut your foot off and charge the insurance company 30,000, 40, 50,000.
And all of these stories like that were designed to get people so mad that they would support Obama's Obamacare reform because he was going to stop all that mean stuff.
He was going to take the obscene profit out.
He was going to make sure that people weren't able to get screwed like that.
In the process, he is impugning and worse, the entire American health care system.
Now the drive-bys ignored it at the time, but the American College of Surgeons did reply to Obama's lie.
And what they said was this.
In fact, Medicare pays a surgeon between $740 and $1,140 for a leg amputation.
There isn't $30,000 or $40,000 or $50,000 in amputating a limb below the knee.
And the payment, the $740 to $1,140, also includes the evaluation of the patient on the day of the operation plus patient follow-up care that's provided for three days.
months afterwards.
So the total cost was never more than 1,100 bucks, according to the American College of Surgeons.
You remember all this, folks, now that you're reminded of it.
You think back at these early days of the administration, and I just, these are back in the days.
I hope he fails, and everybody's mad at me for saying that.
I'm asking myself, why is nobody just fit to be tied over what this man is getting ready to do?
The way he's out insulting everybody, he's insulting anybody that's had anything to do with establishing greatness in this country anywhere.
And he was going across the seas apologizing for this country.
And it was clear as a bell what he intended to do with the health care system.
And it was just frustrating as it could be.
So I'm just reliving all this because I want to tell you this the first salvo in the war on doctors has now begun.
It's a very little subtle thing here in the Associated Press.
But you have to know a story like this will end up at uh Yahoo.com, wherever the low information crowd decide.
It'll end.
I'll tell you what'll happen.
It'll get tweeted all over the place and then Facebooked all over the place.
And various ignoramuses will be out there soaking this thing.
Yeah, I knew those doctors were screwing us off.
I knew they were ripping us off.
And what happens is Obama continues to foster a culture war among groups of Americans.
All to achieve his ultimate aim of ripping this all apart and putting it back together in his socialist dream vision.
In fact, there's a story, I'll call it a companion story that is running today in the UK telegraph.
Guardian angels to protect ChICOM doctors from patients.
Beijing hospitals are to recruit volunteers to help prevent attacks on doctors as an increasing number become targets for violent and angry patients.
This is the ChICOMs.
Hospitals in Beijing are going to recruit 1,500 guardian angels to protect their doctors from violent attacks by patients.
In recent years, angry patients have killed a number of ChICOM doctors, often citing frustration at how they've been handled in the health care system.
The other day, I didn't, I didn't get to this story.
And I'm I may not get this 100% right till I go back and look at the story, but what I did you might have seen a hundred doctors have defected from Cuba.
A hundred doctors have left Cuba for parts unknown just to get because they're not getting paid.
I maybe I still have the story in the stack from previous days that I didn't get to.
I have that stack, it's right under the clock.
I'll check it out during the break coming up.
It was something like that.
So you get an indication of where we are headed.
Could something like this happen in a USSA?
Guardian angels to protect doctors.
Well, I'll tell you, were there guardian angels protecting any of the Wall Street executives as people marched on their front yards, angry at the bonuses they got, encouraged by Obama?
Or would Obama just, hey, well, you know what?
I understand people's rage, doctors.
If I had my foot cut off and I didn't need to have that happen, it cost me 30, I think I'd be a little mad too.
When of course it doesn't happen.
So just wanted to effectively let you know you've been warned, those of you in the healing arts and sciences, you are now the new targets of the class warfare being conducted by this regime.
Other things in the Obamacare stack today.
Washington examiner Philip Klein reversal of Medicare Advantage cuts could be ominous sign for Obamacare.
It's interesting.
The same story treated a little bit differently at the Atlantic.
Obama Democrats back off Medicare Advantage cuts so seniors can keep their gymnasium perks.
Now this is a big hit piece on Medicare Advantage.
That's the next thing to happen with Obamacare.
And this is how the media works.
Yesterday, if you recall, we got news that Obama was once again delaying Obamacare cuts to Medicare Advantage till after the midterms.
He delayed the cuts back in 2012 as well.
And for the same reason, upcoming elections.
But it was a clear signal to the media that they need to start trashing Medicare Advantage.
The reason it's so punitive.
We've got to delay what is going to happen so that it doesn't adversely affect our seasoned citizens.
And that's a signal to the media to just start ripping the shreds out of Medicare Advantage.
And that is what is happening in the Atlantic piece.
Philip Klein treats it a little bit differently.
The Atlantic even goes so far as to call Medicare Advantage a scam.
See, Obama really cares.
Such a decent guy.
He's realized now what a scam it is.
So he's delaying whatever's supposed to happen in Medicare Advantage so that seniors don't get ripped off.
So he protects himself.
He's the guardian of the seasoned citizen population.
When all of this is just yet another scam.
It's keeping Medicare Advantage, and the reason why it's got to go is because it's keeping Obama from giving more money to his base who need free sex change operations.
We gotta get rid of Medicare Advantage.
Too much money going to old people who are not going to live long enough after we spend the money on them anyway.
There are younger deserving members of Obama's base that need that money.
This is hideous stuff here, what's happening.
Don't go away.
Here's that Cubis story.
It's uh not a hundred doctors.
Cuban communist authorities say that they have eliminated more than 100,000 jobs in health care.
And listen to what comes next, and it's this is an AP story.
Of course, we should be sympathetic with the communists in Cuba.
Cuban authorities say they have eliminated more than 100,000 jobs in health care, considered one of the pillars of the 1959 revolution.
So the 1959 Castor Revolution, it was a beautiful thing.
It was a wonderful thing.
It was also wonderful for people.
Why, one of the greatest revolutions in the history of revolutions.
And it offered ultimately the best health care in the world.
But something's gone wrong because Cuba has had to eliminate a hundred thousand health care jobs.
And troubling because health care was one of the pillars of the Great Revolution of 1959.
The cuts come as President Raul Castro tries to streamline government as part of a broader economic reform.
Streamline a communist government.
Streamline a communist government.
Cuba's health care sector, the AP says, is run entirely by the state.
Authorities have said that like other areas of the economy, it is plagued by inefficiency, redundancies, and bloated payrolls.
Why, who could have predicted that?
They're shocked.
They're shocked.
Do you realize in the 1959 revolution is still going on?
They still haven't pulled it off yet.
That's why Castro gives four hour speeches to keep them revolting.
It's amazing.
Let me grab uh Susan here, Flemington, Delaware, as we start on the phones.
Great that you called.
Welcome.
Hey, Rush, I just wanted to comment about this uh the New York Times article that came out today that you can put your doctor's name in and see how much he makes per procedure.
Um my husband's an orthopedic surgeon.
I work in his office.
Now wait a minute, wait a minute.
You just stole some of my thunder.
That was going to be the next phase in the in the but go ahead.
That's my she's right.
The New York Times and you can plug in your doctor and find out how he's ripping you off or how much money he makes per procedure.
I'm telling you.
Yes.
That was the next okay.
Go ahead.
She thinks she's the host of the show.
Go ahead.
That's fine.
Go ahead.
My husband for a total hip replacement on a Medicare patient is reimbursed twelve hundred and fifty dollars.
Some of the things that were reimbursed reimbursed for, it said under a dollar.
Under a dollar.
I mean, if people think we're making huge profits, they're wrong.
You know, the dirty little secret, the hospitals are making the huge profit.
A total hip cost the hospital $8,000.
So just the hardware to put in, and the charge to the patient was $32,000.
There's your markup.
Wait a second.
And the doctor you said gets what?
$1,200.
That's for a history and physical, the day of the surgery, three days in the hospital visits, and then follow up for three months.
Now what did you see?
You say you you you do the books for a for a doctor's office?
Yes.
Is your husband a doctor?
Did I or did I hear you incorrectly?
Yes, my husband's a doctor.
And and from our heyday, 10, 15 years ago, our income is down by two thirds.
Wow.
They've already they've already the doctors already aren't making it.
I mean, I have a son who just is finished medical school, and and I don't know how you deal with an Obamacare and never deal did deal with Susan.
Susan, I want uh you've got to be.
I'm trying to help here.
You've got you seriously not, you've got to be careful how you explain this to people because because because of what Obama and the Democrats have done, you're not gonna find sympathy.
You're gonna find people who think it's about time you find out what it's like because you've gotten rich treating the sick.
So it's about time you experience the pain, all of us are suffering out here.
They're not gonna be sympathetic to you.
Not uh well, some people, the people in your in your socioeconomic group are gonna understand it, but um average ordinary people are not gonna have any sympathy for you.
That's that's one of the many unfortunate realities of the success Obama has had in propagating this this culture war of his.
Yeah, but I would say that this link to the New York Times and and how much your doctor makes, I think it could put a dent in it that we don't.
We're not ripping people off.
In fact, honestly, I don't know how long we can continue to work at these wages.
It's not worth it.
You're talking about Medicare Medicaid reimbursement.
Yes.
We don't even know.
What if you went private?
What if you what if you punted all of that?
I just said Well, yeah, and uh and the government makes it very difficult for you to leave Medicare.
Basically, you cannot see any Medicare eligible patient for years.
Okay, so fine.
It's not profitable anyway, so why don't you just bump out of it?
No, that would be fine, but Medicare people still would want to see us and and and receive a balanced bill, but we're not allowed to do that for two.
I know.
So you have to tell them that you the Obamacare rules don't permit you to treat them anymore.
That's right.
And and we're we're doing that.
I mean, if we're cut down from two offices to one, we s cut our staff from we were a staff of people.
Yeah, okay, I just I want to caution you.
I a lot of people, you know, class envy being it what it is, or what it is, a lot of people are gonna are gonna you know how Obama the Democrats have always wanted their voters to feel good when others experience pain.
That's how they promulate tax increases for the rich.
All these people that are not rich are supposed to be happier when others get tax increases.
It doesn't help their lives.
It doesn't improve their lifestyle at all, but they're supposed to, yeah, yeah, because Obama and the Democrats, they're getting even with them.
I just want to warn you the healthcare industry is nothing to monkey with.
When you need treatment, you want it from the best that you can get.
And those people are at risk right now.
We'll be back.
We went back to the grooveyard of uh forgotten audio soundbites, and we've got Obama from 2009 leveling his accusations against evil profiteering doctors.
I'll be right back before you know it.
Export Selection
