Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
And here we are, just as promised, folks, back at it, Rushlin Boa, meeting and surpassing all audience expectations every day here on the one and only Excellence in Broadcasting Network.
Our telephone number, if you want to be on the program, is 800-282-2882.
Email address, El Rushbo at EIBnet.com.
And today we're one week away from the official launch of the second book in the Rush Revere series.
That's right, my friends.
One week from today, Rush Revere and the First Patriots actually goes on sale.
Such an exciting thing for us.
It's available pre-order now, obviously, at all the usual places, but it's actually on sale one week from today.
And we'll be just racing up the charts thanks to you people, as did the first one.
And of course, the mission to correct whatever is being taught about American history to young skulls full of mush and to teach them the truth.
Okay.
Grab soundbite number one.
I just want to get this out of the way and then we will move on.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is actually two things about this.
I'm tempted to talk about things that are maybe a little inside baseball before we get to Obamacare delays and more Putin and Ukraine and all that.
You remember this young man, maybe Frank Sinatra's son, Ronan Faro.
After three days, they gave him the Cronkite Award for Excellence in Exploration and Journalism.
And he's got one week now under the belt, one week of the show.
26 years old.
He was hired.
I now know what's going on here.
He was hired ostensibly to attract a younger demo, but they're not watching.
They tuned out Andrea Mitchell.
Andrea Mitchell and Metzenius in Washington is creaming this guy in the previous hour in the beloved 25 to 54 demographic.
This guy is losing everybody under 50.
Only seasoned citizens like this guy.
And even that's not enough.
He's losing audience left and right.
And I was reading as a profile of the guy in a way, but things about him that I didn't know by Eliana Johnson at National Review.
Turns out Richard Holbrook mentored this guy from the time he was 15, and Hillary mentored this guy and so forth.
And I now know why they're going.
I don't know what took me so long.
You know what's really going on?
He's just the late.
I got to thinking about this.
Maybe I'm wrong.
Snerdley, maybe you can help me with this.
Can you name for me, seriously now, can you name for me a single, not that I'm not, don't want to misunderstand.
Can you name for me a big liberal media star?
The media is filled with leftists.
We know this.
They're all over the place.
Can you name for me a single liberal media star?
There isn't one, right?
There really isn't one.
There isn't one.
It's just a collection of a whole bunch of nameless, faceless.
We may know the names, but none of them really, that's what they're trying to do.
They're trying to come up with a singular, big, liberal media star.
And that's the role they wanted to plug this young man into.
That's the role they hoped that he would fill.
And it isn't working for a host of reasons, and it won't work for a host of reasons.
And the reasons have to do with the business of broadcasting and to a lesser extent the business of journalism.
But that's what struck me.
These people are obsessed.
They are still trying to come up with a liberal version of this program, is what they're trying to do.
They've tried with Governor Kumo, it didn't work.
They tried with Gary Hart, but all these other guys on the radio.
Now they're trying to come up with a singular face or name that equals liberalism, leftism, that people love and adore because there isn't one.
When you stop and think about it, I mean, the media is filled with leftists.
Don't misunderstand.
But they're all the same.
None stand out.
None of them are appointment reading, viewing, listening, and none of them on the radio anymore that matter.
And here's why.
Let's go to CNN.
Now, this is a audio soundbite number one.
This is a classic illustration of how I am, and this program is purposely mischaracterized, taken out of context, and used to tar and feather all conservatives and Republicans to low-information voters.
This is Crossfire last night, and they're discussing me and what I said about the movie 12 Years a Slave.
Now, how many people have commented on that movie Winning an Oscar?
How many people in the media, how many people could they have chosen to play a audio highlight of comments on 12 Years a Slave?
Of all the people in the country, who did they choose but your beloved host and leader, El Rushbo?
And here is how it sounded.
It's time for our outrages of the day.
So I'm thrilled that 12 Years a Slave won Best Picture at last night's Oscars.
Rush Limbaugh, on the other hand, said 12 Years a Slave won because it had the magic word in the title, slave.
No, it won because it's an exquisite film.
But thank you, Mr. Limbaugh, for reminding us how far Hollywood and America still have to travel on issues of race and racial justice.
They don't even play the soundbite.
They don't even bother playing the soundbite of what I said.
They just claim that I make this comment to take it totally out of context.
Let's remind everybody what the host of the show said about this as the show began.
Anything can happen.
So many different possibilities.
Possibility number one: 12 Years a Slave wins Best Picture.
Possibility number two, you're all racists.
And yet, it is your beloved, harmless little fuzzball host that they focus on here.
That was that, by the way, the woman on Crossfire, Sally Cohn, what was questioned?
What was what?
Sally Cohen, is her name?
Anyway, the interesting thing here is that all I said was, I mean, it's the slave that said that once this movie hit, there was no way it wasn't going to win, no matter what, and everybody knew it.
And that's why they're mad, calling them out.
I basically just agreed with Ellen DeGeneres, the real racists are in Hollywood.
The movie was going to win no matter what, because of the subject matter, title in it, or what have you.
It was a no-brainer.
Talk to anybody.
There was no way that the Academy was not going to vote that movie the best picture.
And to point that out shows how far the Academy has to go.
Folks, it is just my anyway.
I just wanted to get that out of the way so we can move on to some of the other things.
There's a new Obamacare delay, ladies and gentlemen.
Well, no, I've got, I'll get the numbers on the Sinatra kid, Woody Allenki, Ronan Farron.
I've got them here.
I put them further down in the stack.
I basically gave you the highlights.
I mean, he's in 150,000 and he's down.
Look at he took over Anne Ringo.
Anything else in Washington?
She had the 1 o'clock hour.
He took it over.
He has lost numbers from what she had.
And in the 2554 demographic, which is where they thought he would be a magnet for like-minded 25 to 50, because they think that's hip and cool.
And they've been, apparently, they have been molding and shaping this guy for this since he was 15.
And they have been grooming him to assume a role and a comp.
Why give a guy the Cronkite Award after three days on the air?
I mean, anyway, it's, I know what they're doing.
I know they're just frustrated as all get out.
Yeah, that's right.
Anderson Cooper was supposed to be, and that hasn't worked out.
Anderson Cooper, that's right.
They just, they keep coming up.
You're right.
It's exactly right.
They keep trying all of these people to promote them into superstar level or status in the dominant media culture.
And they're bugged because there isn't one.
And they're trying to manufacture one.
And that's, it's, you know, it's not real.
You can't manufacture it.
It has to happen.
And they do not understand.
Look, I don't make too big a deal about it.
It's just abundantly clear.
Even though they own the media, they own it.
They literally own it.
Like everything else, they're never happy no matter what they get, no matter what you give them, no matter how much you concede to them, they're never happy and they're never satisfied.
They're always ticked off about it.
Always angry.
I'll give examples.
We're going to be filled with examples of that very point as the program unfolds.com, the regime, is set to announce another major delay in implementing Obamacare, easing election pressure on the Democrats.
That is the opening line in the Hill.com story.
They're not even bothering to hide the purpose of this.
They're not doing this for the people.
They're not doing it.
What this is, remember when Obama promised you that you could keep your plan if you like it and keep your doctor, and then all of a sudden you couldn't?
And then everybody started reminding Obama that he lied 23 or 24 times about this.
And powerful lie.
I mean, this is something that was deeply personal to people that they believed, and it was never true.
And we tried to warn people that he was lying about it because it was not possible.
Your plan that you liked was going to be rendered illegal if Obamacare was ever implemented.
It just was illegal.
He's lying because he wanted to win elections and he thought you would forget.
Anyway, you didn't forget.
You were reminded.
And so there was such an outcry that Obama delayed the cancellation of your plans for a year.
This calendar year, 2014, you can keep your plan.
You're still illegal.
Your plan is still illegal.
It's just that the regime is not going to pursue you and charge you and fine you or otherwise penalize you.
What this is, a three-year, additional three-year extension of the plan you always thought you were going to be able to keep.
And theHill.com, pardon the sniffle, the regime is set to announce another major delay in implementing the Affordable Care Act, easing election pressure on the Democrats because they forgot something.
They forgot something.
They have to push back the end of the, these are substandard plans by definition now.
The plan that you like that you now could keep this year.
By the way, they brought it back after you lost it.
How many of you actually really got the old plan back?
That's another thing they don't tell us.
Your plan was canceled.
Remember that?
You were not allowed to keep it.
You had to give it up, even though the regime had promised you.
And then all of a sudden, after a bunch of people had been canceled, Obama says, you know what?
You know what?
I'm instructing the insurance companies to reactivate those plans.
And the insurance companies, it's going to cost a lot of money.
We're illegal.
And we don't know how many people actually went back and reactivated the plan that they liked, that they were promised they could keep, that they hadn't had canceled.
We don't know.
But if you did, you get to hold on to it for three more years.
But they only figured out, they remembered that the law requires insurers to send out cancellation notices 90 days in advance.
Three months for those of you in Rio Linda.
That means, even with Obama's last delay, the cancellation notices would come out right before the midterm elections this November.
Even extending your plan that was canceled, that you were promised you could keep, that was taken away from you and then reoffered to you.
You could keep it this calendar year, however, just for the year.
And you would again get a cancellation notice near the end of this one-year extension.
The regime figured out over the weekend that the law requires a 90-day cancellation notice.
That means that the cancellation notices would arrive in people's inboxes, mailboxes, however they get them, right before the midterm elections.
In some cases, my friends, a majority of these cancellation notices would come on the Friday before the Tuesday of the midterm elections.
So they had to They had to engage in drastic emergency action here to just say, you know what, screw it.
We're going to extend these all the way through the 2016 election, which is the presidential race.
So the implementation of Obamacare is an absolute disastrous joke.
And one of the many problems surrounding it was the inability of anybody responsible to make plans based on when, what was going to happen.
Businesses, employers, consumers, nobody still knows when this thing is actually going to fully implement.
And as such, nobody can still make permanent plans because Obama could decide next week, you know what?
I'm not going to extend it for three years.
I changed my mind and I'm only going to extend it for two years.
Never mind the fact that none of this is legal.
I don't mean to shout and scare you 25-year-old girls.
Women, sorry.
Told that happens.
But I'm not kidding.
None of this is legal anyway.
Here's the last line up break time.
I'll give you the last line in the story when we get back.
Don't go away.
And we're back.
Great to have you, El Rushbo.
You know, I'm wondering how many low-information voters think that slavery only lasted 12 years?
I'm just asking how many, I'm trying to feed the beast.
CNN needs some more audio for tonight's crossfire.
How many CNN viewers, how many low-information Americans think because of the movie, that slavery only lasted 12 years, because the title is 12 years a slave?
Don't laugh.
You know, you might think, come on, Rush, don't be.
You think there aren't some low-information people who think that might be what the whole thing's about?
Slavery lasted 12 years.
12 years a slave.
Anyway, Hill.com, last line from the article where they admit this delay is to help the Democrats.
The regime's decision to pursue another extension was confirmed by insurance sources who predicted a public announcement would be imminent.
It is unclear how long the extension will be, though one source believed it could last to the end of Obama's second term and maybe beyond.
Meaning, they might have to even push this pact past the 2016 election.
No kidding.
That's exactly what they're going to have to do because of the cancellation notice aspect of this.
They can't have something like that happen right before an election.
While we are on Obamacare, I want to go back to the grooveyard of forgotten favorites.
Another El Rushbo see I told you.
So this is Ezekiel Emmanuel.
This is the brother of the Chicago Mayor Ron Emmanuel and the brother of the Hollywood superagent Aerie Emmanuel, Ezekiel, known as Zeke for short.
And this is September 22, 2009, when we first aired this.
And well, actually, this is this is just me.
Well, we don't have Zeke here.
This is just me.
I was just reminding people that Zeke Emmanuel said back in, you have to take my word for it, back in 2009, that Obamacare was going to put the insurance industry out of business.
What he said was health exchanges, lots of competition, keep the insurance companies honest.
The only way you keep them honest is to let them compete with each other.
That's what I said.
Never mind.
This is all screwed up.
But he did.
The brother of Chicago Mayor Rah Emmanuel, who is part of the Obamacare healthcare team, has often said that Obamacare will put the insurance industry out of business.
It's one of the purposes.
So that the only option anybody has, and this is 5, 10, 15 years down the road, is the government.
And Obama has said that himself.
So the program continues to be an absolute disaster, as is this situation in Ukraine.
This is amazing the way this is transforming itself as a media story.
But I have here, there's a couple of things.
There's a Washington Post editorial.
And I read this, and it's one of these things.
Where was this when it might have mattered?
Washington Post editorial, Obama's foreign policy based on fantasy.
It's an editorial in the Post today.
Let me read you some of this.
For five years, President Obama has led a foreign policy based more on how he thinks the world should operate than on reality.
Wrong button, sorry.
For five years, President Obama has led a foreign policy based more on how he thinks the world should operate than on real.
That's the whole Obama presidency.
Not just foreign policy.
And I submit to you that these people have known it from the get-go.
This editorial, like some people on our side are going to see this editorial.
They're going to start, hey, hey, look, Washington Post comes.
No, that's the wrong way to look at this.
This is utter irresponsibility.
These people who've been propping up Obama since the 2008 campaign have known from the get-go that the man was unqualified and incompetent, did not have the experience.
That didn't matter.
It was Obama himself, folks.
Obama himself.
And you want to remember things.
It was Obama himself who said that his election was going to make the world a utopia.
That two things had to happen for that to happen.
A, he had to be elected.
B, George Bush had to be sent packing.
That was his campaign.
If those two things happen, we've got utopia.
We've got people around the world loving us once again.
We're going to have fairness and equality here at home.
We're going to have economic prosperity.
We're going to have free health care.
All of that stuff.
If we just get rid of these Republicans and if you elect me.
And for five years, Obama has led an administration, not just on foreign policy, but more on how he thinks things ought to be than on reality.
Fantasyland, living in a dream world based on a belief that this country's founding was unjust and immoral.
And do not doubt me that Obama and his acolytes believe that.
You can't have these Occupy Wall Street trolls writing pro-communist dissertations at slate.com and then not accept what that means.
What that means is there's some people, and there always have been, who despise this country, who do not like it.
And there always have been those people.
The danger now is they are running it.
Obama has put people, Rupert Murdoch said, Rupert Murdoch sent a tweet.
Let me find this tweet here.
This kind of ticks me off, too, in a way, but I'll get to that.
I'll circle back to this.
But let me tell you what.
Murdoch tweeted about New York City.
New York City now totally managed by leftist activists with no experience in running anything beyond protests.
Big mess ahead.
Now, he's talking about the new mayor, Bill de Blasio.
But he could be describing any entity that is run by a modern-day Democrat or leftist.
He could be talking about Barack Obama.
The country is now totally managed by leftist activists with no experience in running anything beyond protests.
And what have they been protesting?
America and the traditions and institutions which have defined America's greatness.
So we have elected a guy who has appointed people who believe this country is unfair, unjust, immoral from its beginning founding days.
And their mission is to fix that.
And that's what's been going on for five years.
That is the transformation Obama promised and talked about.
Now, all of a sudden, when this incompetence has surfaced and is on display in the area of foreign policy, now all of a sudden these media protectors are worried.
You know, Obama pretending to be dictator or playing dictator and monkeying around with the traditions and institutions that made America great.
That's fine.
That's cool.
That's one thing.
We believe in that.
But wait a minute.
These people out there, Putin and these are serious threats, and we don't really want to die at these people's hands.
So now all of a sudden, now that Obama's incompetence is on display in the area of foreign policy, now all of a sudden it's time to say so.
So again, here's this little piece, Washington Post editorial, for five years.
President Obama has led a foreign policy based more on how he thinks the world should operate than on reality.
It was a world in which the tide of war is receding, they quote him as saying.
And the United States could, without much risk, radically reduce the size of its armed forces.
Other leaders in this vision would have or would behave rationally in the interest of their people and the world.
Invasions, brute force, great power games, shifting alliances.
These were things in the past, Obama said.
Secretary of State John Lurch Kerry, who served in Vietnam, displayed this mindset on ABC Sunday when he said of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
It's a 19th century act, the 21st century, highlighted that yesterday about how absolutely inane that is.
So here you have Kerry complaining that Putin is using old-fashioned infantry-type tactics.
And that's not the kind of world we have anymore.
Doesn't he know he's cheating?
He can't do that.
He's violating the agreements.
And the Washington Post is beside itself now.
Oh my God.
OMG.
What in the world is now That this has found its way into the arena of foreign policy.
Now, all of a sudden, the glaring, obvious incompetence of this whole regime is now worrisome.
The Post says, well, it's a nice thought that Kerry had, and we all know what he means.
Yeah, let's excuse what he means.
Unfortunately, Russian President Putin has not received the memo on 21st century behavior.
Neither is China's president, who is engaging in gunboat diplomacy against Japan and the weaker nations of Southeast Asia.
Syrian President Bashur al-Assad is waging a very 20th century war against his own people, sending helicopters to drop exploding barrels full of screws, nails, and other shrapnel onto apartment buildings where families cower in basements.
All of a sudden, now it matters.
Toward the end of the editorial, the Post writes, military strength, trustworthiness as an ally, staying power in difficult corners of the world like Afghanistan, these still matter.
Do you know what kind of slice that is?
I mean, that's right at Obama because he's out there saying none of this stuff matters anymore.
It's the other.
We're not a superpower.
It's none of our business what these other people around the world are doing, and we're going to get out of it.
We don't care.
And that is irresponsible and frightening.
And even these people at the post, oh, oh, no.
While the United States has been retrenching, retreating, I'm adding the word, and withdrawing, the tide of democracy in the world has also been receding.
In the long run, that's harmful to U.S. national security, too.
No kidding.
We are the leader of the free world.
If we get out of it, so will democracy elsewhere.
And the Post says, as Mr. Putin ponders whether to advance further into eastern Ukraine, say he will measure the seriousness of U.S. and allied actions, not their statements.
China, pondering its next steps in the East China Sea, will do the same.
That's the nature.
Sadly, they say that's the nature of the century we're living in.
What do you mean, the nature of this?
It's the nature of the world.
Ours is a world governed by the aggressive use of force, and it always has been.
It's not something specific to the 21st century.
Vladimir Putin's not doing something that previous Soviet leaders have never done.
The TRICOM leader is not doing something that Mao Zedong didn't do.
There's nothing here that's new.
It's just nothing but reality going on here.
We've got a fantasy land administration trying to deny that.
They can remake reality just by virtue of their own presence in existence.
So while you may be out there applauding, all right, way to go, Washington Post, not me, these sanctimonious people in the media all of a sudden now see Obama's nothing but smoke and mirrors.
You want to say that his foreign policy is fantasy, misses the point that Obama himself is a fantasy.
He's just the same kind of fantasy that the drive-by media made up and pushed.
It's exactly what the media constructed, a fantasy.
They plugged Obama into it, and they were off to the races.
It's kind of infuriating to me.
None of this need be happening is the point.
And their headlined at the Washington Post, President Obama's foreign policy based on fantasy.
You do have to wonder who hacked them.
This could be a hack.
But to ask whether or not they finally awakened from their long peacenik slumber, no.
It's just that this reality really matters.
Contraceptors telling Catholic Church where to go, you know, war on women, all that other crock and lies and BS to destroy the Republican Party.
That's fine.
Whatever it takes to do that, that's cool.
Whatever lie it takes, whatever distortion, whatever character assassination, whatever tactic is required to destroy the Republicans, we're in there and we'll help you.
But don't take that act to foreign policy because it's serious out there.
Back after this.
Don't go.
Okay, welcome back, El Rushbaugh, the Excellence in Broadcasting Network, telephone number 800-282-2882.
If you want to be on the program, grab audio soundbite number four.
Wait a minute.
Wait a minute.
Ah, okay.
Ezekiel Emmanuel.
Here it is.
Has a piece in the new republic.
I now see what this was.
The insurance companies, as we know them, are about to die, and here's what's going to replace them.
And that piece is from two days ago, and it's written by Zeke Emmanuel, and it's in the New Republic.
So Cookie went and got a sound bite of me in 2009 saying, reminding people that this is what Obamacare was going to make.
It was a see, I told you so.
I warned you in 2009, the purpose of Obamacare was to get rid of the insurance companies.
The private insurance market was going to cease to exist.
And here's Zeke Emmanuel proving once again that I.L. Rushbo knew and always do know what I'm talking about.
Insurance companies, as we know them, are about to die.
And here from one of Obama's chief Obamacare architects.
Americans hate health insurance companies is how it begins.
They are easy targets for everyone to beat up.
So he goes on.
It's a long piece, but the upshot of it is, last line, be prepared to kiss your insurance company goodbye forever.
See, these people believe that you are just like them and that you hate capitalism.
And therefore, you hate businesses.
And by extension, you hate your insurance company.
You despise them.
And so you will celebrate and support the regime as they wipe them out.
That's what Zeke thinks here.
He thinks the regime's going to capitalize.
They think you're going to celebrate these insurance companies getting creamed.
And there's no question about the fact that their base will indeed applaud that.
Their base would be happy if every business was run by the government.
It's not the majority of people in the country, however.
But you know the problem with this is the regime really got caught up short.
The regime, I think, was blindsided when they found out how many people liked what they had.
Do you realize what a cutting blow that had to be?
Here you've got Obama and these regime guys running around beating up the health care system, telling everybody how unfair and expensive and unequal it is and mean and all that and pre-existing condition stuff.
All the while Obama says, if you like yours, you can keep it.
I mean, if you like it, we're not going to be kicking you out of it and so forth.
But they assumed that you are like them.
And that you hated your plan.
You hated your insurance company.
You hated the plan that your boss put you on.
You imagine how shocked they were when they found out how many millions of people didn't want any change in what they had.
These people, I tell you folks, are so out to lunch and out of touch, and they don't care.
They're governing against the will of the people from the moment they assumed office, so nothing's new.
A scorching, scorching and rocking first hour of broadcast excellence, in which we have barely scratched the surface and set the table.
There's much more coming after our top of the hour obscene profit timeouts.
