Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
Greetings, my friends, and welcome.
It is the Rush Limbaugh program, and this is Open Line Friday, where you, the callers, get to run the show.
Practically, anyway.
Live from the Southern Command in sunny South Florida, it's Open Line Friday!
Yes, Erim, folks.
Open Line Friday, the one day of the week.
You can talk about whatever it is matters to you, and I will pretend that it matters to me.
800-282-2882.
I'm just kidding.
You know, all of you are harmless, lovable little fuzzballs that I absolutely adore.
800-282-2882, the email address, El Rushbo at EIBNet.com.
Seriously, Open Line Friday, it's the giant career risk.
Whatever you wish to talk about is fine and dandy.
If you are a new arrival to the program, the well, the projected difference on Friday from Monday through Thursday is that Monday through Thursday, you have to talk about something I want to talk about, something I'm interested in in order to get on the air.
On Friday, you don't have to.
You can bring up something that hasn't been discussed, you think hasn't been discussed, you think needs to be discussed, question or comment or whatever.
It's really a golden opportunity.
And as such, I mean, turning over the content program to non-professionals, I mean, it's a career risk, and I'm willing to do it.
It's fun.
So again, the phone number, 800-282-2882, the email address illrushbo at eibnet.com.
I'll give you some of the headlines.
Study.
This is from Mother Jones.
Global warming will cause 180,000 more rapes by 2099.
I didn't even bother reading the story.
It is just an indication that this total loniness.
The problem is that this total loniness is dominating everywhere.
It's just permeating every strata of our culture and society.
Study.
Controversial new research predicts that over the coming century, rising temperatures will result in more rapes.
That doesn't even count the number of rapes committed by Darren Sharper and men on Super Bowl Sunday.
Competing headline, U.S. comma, UK scientists say that cutting all CO2 emissions would not stop global warming.
Which is a good thing because it's not about curbing global warming.
It's not about climate change.
That's just the vehicle.
All this is, is to promote statism and big government.
In fact, Patrick Moore, who's one of the co-founders of Greenpeace, can I prove to you that there is no news?
Can I prove to you that journalism today is not news?
I want you to go grab sunbite number five.
Just to illustrate that the media does not do news.
Patrick Moore is one of the co-founders of Greenpeace.
He has left the organization.
He is nowhere to be found.
He has totally abandoned it.
He is saying that it is nothing more than a religious cult and that it isn't about global warming in any sense of the word.
He's out.
He's been saying this for three days and it has not been reported.
Here you have a major worldwide movement based on man-made activity that is causing the destruction of the planet.
And the co-founder of the group which got this whole ball rolling says, nope, it never was true.
It isn't true now.
And furthermore, it's nothing more than a religious cult.
And they do not cover it.
This is news.
This is huge news that somebody essentially admitting the whole thing is a fraud.
The founder of the movement admitting it's a fraud.
And nothing but crickets.
Mr. Moore did appear on Fox News last night.
He was on with Hannity.
And he was asked, okay, then what's driving the agenda?
It is a powerful convergence of interests among a very large number of elites, including politicians who want to make it seem as though they're saving the world, environmentalists who want to raise money and get control over very large issues like our entire energy policy, media for sensationalism, universities and professors for grants.
You can't hardly get a science grant these days without saying it has something to do with climate change.
It is a kind of nasty combination of extreme political ideology and a religious cult all rolled into one.
It isn't true.
It is a total hoax.
Patrick Moore, co-founder Greenpeace, he's looked at as a traitor now.
You would think if media, if journalism were actually about reporting the news, and if it even pretended to be objective, as they have often claimed, this would at least be news.
Even if it was news, they wanted to tee up and bring in people that disagree with the guy and knock it out of the park.
They don't even do that.
They just ignore it.
And instead, Mother Jones with the story, global warming will cause 180,000 more rapes by 2099.
They're dead serious with this.
They're dead serious.
And you know, the thing about it, you and I read this, we laugh about it.
You realize how many millions of people eat this up.
Swallow it, believe it.
Think that it is true.
It's scary.
Then the Daily Caller, U.S., UK scientists, cutting all CO2 emissions would not stop global warming.
Oh, really?
Then what is it going to take?
It's going to take more than that.
See, they're not saying, uh-oh, it's too late.
We can't do anything about it.
Everybody batting down the hatch.
That's not what they're saying.
They're saying we need steps that are even more drastic than reducing all CO2 emissions.
What would those steps be?
What would the steps that are more drastic than reducing all CO2, which is impossible because we exhale it?
This is a precursor to the further indoctrination of your kids from kindergarten all the way through every level of their education.
My guess, to totally abandon their freedom, to totally turn their lives over to governments in order to save the planet.
It's about controlling our lives, which it always has been about that.
It never really has been about the science.
Let me ask you a question.
You know, our official climatologist here, when he has the courage to admit it, I just threw that in.
He does.
Dr. Roy Spencer, University of Alabama at Huntsville, well known.
He testifies before Senate and House committees on this when they don't cancel him.
They usually cancel him when he has some devastating testimony they know is on the way.
They just broom him.
What would you think happened if Dr. Spencer called a press conference and said, you know what?
I just concluded some exhaustive research in the past six months and I have decided, I have learned, I have discovered that I am totally wrong and have been wrong about everything I believed.
I, Dr. Spencer, now believe man-made global warming is happening.
It is inconclusive.
Do you think that would make news?
That would be all free networks.
It'd be all over every network.
They'd invent networks.
They'd get this on Al Jazeera.
They would get this on, this would take whatever news in Ukraine off the media in Ukraine.
If a science denier went public and announced, you know what, I'm wrong.
It is man-made global.
Greenpeace is right.
The Sierra Club is right.
The Democrat Party is right.
And we don't have much time.
Do you think that would be news?
The founder, co-founder, Greenpeace.
Hey, it's just a cult.
It's just a bunch of people scamming money.
It's just a bunch of religious idiots and ideologues, and they're out there trying to do everything they can to control other people's lives.
By the way, the Mother Jones story, it's not just 180,000 more rapes, 2099, 22,000 more murders, too.
Well, I guess the murderers are going to eventually.
Global warming, it's like, it's like, what is her, Kathleen or Kerry Kennedy?
Kerry Kennedy.
Kerry Kennedy found not guilty of driving while impaired while she was driving impaired.
She was found, the jury, she found not guilty.
She crushed up some ambience.
She took it, and she was driving while impaired, barely awake.
But she wasn't.
No, she didn't mean it.
And I saw a legal analyst on CNN today say it wasn't because she was a Kennedy.
No, no, that had nothing to do with it.
He said it was a brilliant defense.
She said she was on the way to work.
Nobody gets drunk on the way to work.
Nobody takes ambient on the way to work.
That allowed her to credibly say it was a mistake.
She was headed to work and in the gym, and nobody crushes up a bunch of ambient before they do that.
And the jury said, you know what?
That makes total sense.
And so after nearly 20 months of buildup, the misdemeanor trial of Kerry Kennedy ended today in a breakneck blur.
This is the New York Times.
As jurors took one hour to find her not guilty of driving under the influence of a drug while she was driving under the influence of a drug.
And the first thing, the legal beagle unseated, it's not because she was a Kennedy.
Well, then there's your reason.
It was because she was a Kennedy.
They got to pass.
I saw a story the other day scanning, this is my hobby time.
I'm scanning various unshow prep related news sites, and I see that Richie Incognito's Ferrari is beat up.
Somebody messed up his Ferrari, took a baseball bat to the front grill and to the hood of his Ferrari.
And there was a picture of the bat, the baseball bat that was used to beat up the Ferrari was on the grass in front of the Ferrari.
Ferrari's in the parking lot right up against the grass there, and there's the red t-shirt or something over the driver's side mirror on the door.
And it was tough to see the damage because the TMZ logo on the picture was all over the, but it claimed it.
And in Scottsdale, that's his off-season home.
Well, it turns out, ladies and gentlemen, Incognito beat up his own Ferrari himself.
That's what he told the cops yesterday morning.
He beat up his Ferrari himself.
He admitted he took the bat to his own car.
He was mad about something.
We don't know what.
Maybe his car looked gay.
Who knows?
Some people think Incognito beat up his car as a precedent for the insanity defense, should he need it.
It could have just been bullying the car.
Maybe he thought that I don't.
I don't, but he did beat up his own.
He admitted he beat up his own car.
And now don't, yeah, should have said he's taken ambient.
Boy, you should see my email.
I am being besieged by what I can only describe as the ambient advocates.
And by that, I mean, I can't tell you the number of people.
Hey, I've taken it, and you know what?
She's right.
I don't remember anything.
People told me some of the strangest stories, Rush.
They caught me nude throwing food on the floor at three in the morning after I'd taken it.
I got emails all over the place here, folks, about this.
I've never taken it, but I've got all kinds of people.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, it's totally believable what she said.
She could not remember anything after she took it.
Rear into that semi, whatever happened, it's totally understandable because I've taken ambient and I have people told me I've been doing weird.
So, okay, I'll back off.
I have no desire to make this program about ambient.
No calls about ambient.
Because I don't, I just, I just think it's a great country when you're driving under the influence and a jury says, nope, you weren't.
It's a great country.
Whispers are persisting.
Whispers, there's a whisper campaign, folks.
That Mrs. Clinton is sick.
That she will not run for the presidency because she is sick.
I mean, ill.
Now, there's two possibilities here.
One is that she is sick.
We hope she's not.
We hope Mrs. Clinton's health is good.
But if she is sick, if she has significant health challenges, would that explain her inexplicable behavior regarding Ben Ghazi?
If you remember, the left tried to say that Ronald Reagan was suffering from Alzheimer's much sooner than the Reagan family ever admitted it or announced it.
Leslie Stahl had a book once, and she concluded in her book, I now believe that Reagan AIDS and his wife Nancy covered up his condition of Alzheimer's.
And many continued to cover it up as they wrote their memoirs, but then the public knew something wasn't right.
There were all sorts of signs that Reagan was not all there.
We all looked the other way.
Those whispers were fine.
I'll never forget them.
It didn't take long after Reagan's Iran-Contra testimony.
That's when the, he was still in office in his second term.
And here came the media speculating that he wasn't right.
Maybe it's Alzheimer's.
If you were paying attention back then, you remember.
And they were, they said they were just trying to help the country.
I mean, it was just the president's, now Mrs. Clinton, it's an entirely different circumstances.
So there's one of two things here.
Either she is sick or she isn't.
And if she isn't, there is a really vicious rumor campaign that has begun.
And let's focus on that.
If there is a rumor campaign against Mrs. Clinton, who would be behind this?
Who is doing it?
The conventional wisdom is that every Democrat alive wants Mrs. Clinton to get the nomination and to be the next president.
Do the Republicans have the gonads to do something like this?
Do the Republicans have the gonads to start a rumor that Mrs. Clinton is ill.
And when you say that, it's Drudge's lead story there with a picture of Hillary looking like she's in great stress and distress.
And the headline is, is she sick?
That's all it takes.
And people start wondering, what kind of sick?
It's not specified in any of these stories.
So it must be bad.
Oh, and people start wondering, what is it?
And it just begins to feed on itself.
And you know how that can end up?
All kinds of rumors about what it really is.
If it is a rumor campaign, who is behind this?
And what is their objective?
Because if it's a rumor campaign, it's successful one.
Welcome back, folks.
It's Open Line Friday.
Rush Limbaugh here at the cutting edge of societal evolution.
I just want to remind you in this Kennedy family and ambient business.
You might remember Patrick Kennedy, and I forget the specifics of this.
He was either late at night in Congress in his office and heading home or he was at home and told his girlfriend that he had to go to the office at like two in the morning.
In the process, he ran his car into a concrete abutment out there in the nation's capital.
I mean, and nearly took some people out.
I was thinking it was late at night or very early in the morning under cover of darkness.
I forget all the details.
I didn't bother to look it up during the break.
I'm just doing this off the top of my head.
Anyway, it was a devastating accident.
And he blamed Ambien for it.
He blamed Ambien and then, I think, went to rehab somewhere, Ambien rehab.
Where do you, where do you, oh, never mind.
As I say, I don't want to make a big deal as Ambien stuff because it's something that's got advocates.
Can't tell you the number of emails.
Hey, Rush, go easy here, man.
I've taken it too.
Okay, okay, fine.
Mrs. Clinton's health, again, I just want to stress, she either is sick.
And let me give you a history of this, by the way.
And it's not just conservatives who are focusing on Mrs. Clinton's health.
Apparently, she was hospitalized in 2013.
Is that right?
Yeah, it was the her health made headlines as she finished her term as Secretary of State.
Aid said she developed a stomach virus and then hit her head on something and suffered a concussion and then developed a blood clot in the brain what was being medicated and was expected to recover.
But skeptics say there is much more to the story of her health.
So hospitalized of that concussion and so forth.
Then Melinda Henneberger, who I think used to write at Time or U.S. News, now at the Washington Post, Melinda Henneberger wrote a piece titled, How Sick is Hillary Clinton.
Melinda Henneberger, a big lib is the point here.
Already, Henneberger wrote, reports that described Clinton's right transverse sinus venous thrombosis as potentially life-threatening.
Uh-huh.
So Hillary's right transverse sinus venous thrombosis was potentially life-threatening, though apparently it was caught in enough time.
But these reports sound a lot more serious than the word from her doctors that Hillary's making excellent progress and we're confident she'll make a full recovery.
She's a good spirits engaging with her doctors, her family, and her staff.
But you had to hear the drive-by media not really believing that.
And then Melinda Henneberger said, would we really be shocked to learn down the road that reports during her hospitalization had put a positive spin on her condition when she really was worse off?
So it's not just so-called conservatives or Republicans coming up with this.
This has long been speculated by drive-by media types.
So she either is, which we hope she's not, or this is a massive rumor campaign that has begun.
And if it is a rumor campaign, I just want to go on record that if this indeed is established, there's a rumor campaign, my prediction is that a Democrat is behind it.
There'll be a lot of Republicans trying to take credit for it if it's a rumor campaign that ends up being successful in terms of damaging her chances to win the presidency.
Okay, other news items, and we're going to get to the phones, got some good sound bites.
Patty Murray, senator from Washington, on the Senate floor yesterday, urged people to stop listening to me because I am, along with Fox News, part of the cabal spreading lies about all these people who are suffering after Obamacare.
She says, like Harry Reid, it's all lies.
There is no problem.
Nobody's having a problem.
Nobody's been canceled.
Harry Reid's actually out there said that.
It's all lies.
Here, grab somebody.
This is Patty Murray on the Senate floor speaking about Obamacare yesterday.
I hope that everybody can turn off the Fox News for a little while and not listen to Rush Limbaugh and really listen to some real stories of real-life Americans who have been impacted by this law.
I'll tell you what's happening.
There are massive amounts, massive numbers of victims of Obamacare.
You know them and I know them, and they've been all over television and people all over the news.
People have lost their policies, people that have lost their doctors, people have cancer patients who can't get treated.
Remember the story about what was it?
200 young kids with cancer who were unable to get treatment.
And of course, it's not true.
It just is not true.
It's me and Fox News making all that up.
What you really have here is the Democrat Party assaulting the victims of Obamacare, saying they're liars.
You have Harry Reid and now Patty Murray basically attacking ordinary people, claiming that all of these stories of suffering have been invented by Rush Limbaugh and Fox News.
Here's Dingy Harry.
This is Wednesday in Washington on the Senate floor.
There's plenty of horror stories being told.
All of them are untrue, but they're being told all over America.
Tales.
Stories made up from whole cloth.
Lies distorted by the Republicans to grab headlines or make political advertisements.
Honestly, I don't know that anybody knows how to deal with this.
This is, I mean, the numbers of, it's in the tens of thousands of people who have been harmed to one degree or another, some seriously, by Obamacare.
And here comes the Senate majority leader just saying it's all lies.
All made up by the Republicans.
And I think the way you people in the audience, you need to understand this.
This is not the Democrats attacking me.
It's not the Democrats attacking Fox News.
They're calling you liars.
All of you people who claim that you have been harmed or unserviced or somehow mistreated or left out in the cold because of healthcare.gov, you're making it up.
The Democrat Party is attacking you.
They're calling you liars.
This morning on Fox News, Fox and Friends, the co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck interviewed Eileen Benthal, a mother whose daughter has had 89 operations in her life and is now facing uncertainty because of Obamacare.
First, Elizabeth Hasselbeck played a clip of Dingy Harry just say, well, you just heard that everybody's making this up.
It's all lies and these stories are not true.
After playing Dingy Harry, Hasselbeck then said, your daughter was born with congenital malformations in her brain.
She has undergone 89 surgeries in her life.
Thanks to Obamacare, your family is stuck on an insurance roller coaster.
I could feel you breathing and holding your breath watching Harry Reid make those remarks.
How did you initially hear them and what was your reaction?
I was so offended.
You know, here I was sitting at my daughter's bedside and I've spent the last three months.
It's been more than a part-time job for me to secure insurance after our termination that happened in the fall.
So I've worked diligently and advocated for the health care that we once had, which we don't have anymore.
And it's taken a lot of effort, a lot of time, a lot of difficulty.
We have lost one doctor.
We lost all coverage for out of New York State.
She's lying.
She's lying.
This woman is a reprobate who listens to Fox News.
Look where she is.
She's on Fox News.
She's making it all up.
She probably doesn't even have a daughter.
89 surgeries.
This is the kind of mean stuff the Republicans and Fox News and Limbaugh gin up because she's lying.
That's what Harry Reed's saying.
Name is Eileen Benthal.
So Hasselbeck said, well, what do you have to say to Harry Reid?
Chances are he might be listening right now.
You think he owes you an apology?
Before I got the call from Fox News, I actually posted to my Facebook page and I said, really, Senator Reed, I would like you to come to the PICU and say those words to my face.
What's on my heart is I would like Harry Reid to, if he has any ounce of regret for the words that he has said and the offense that he has made to Americans like us who are struggling, I challenge you to make a donation to the Angioma Alliance in honor of Johanna Benthal.
Right.
That chance.
The only way Harry Reid will make a donation is if somehow I do and he tries to glom on to what is his idea.
Remember that?
The phony soldier letter.
Anyway, she's lying.
She's making it all up.
Elizabeth Hasselbeck is lying and helping her lie about it.
And her daughter is lying.
89 surgeries, canceled plan last fall because of Obamacare.
Those things are not happening.
It's all untrue.
That's what Harry Reid is saying.
And Patty Murray.
And blaming it all on me and Fox News.
Be right back.
I have a companion story here.
I had this in the stacks all week.
Waiting for the right opportunity to use this.
Folks, do you think some Dingy Harry and Patty Murray are out there saying that all these stories about Obamacare disaster?
They're just lies.
None of them are true.
Have you ever asked yourself why you haven't seen a whole host of success stories with Obamacare?
I mean, you think, why isn't the media even making them up in the midst of all this?
Why don't they go out there and find, you know, average John Q. Democrat?
Oh, man, I didn't have health insurance.
I was on the verge of dying.
And then healthcare.gov went live, and I went on and I logged on, and in 30 seconds, I had a policy, and now I'm cured.
Where are those stories?
There aren't any, are there?
You seen any Obamacare success stories?
You seen anybody, you see any patients buying ads?
Hey, hey, I logged on.
I got through.
I got an insurance policy.
And furthermore, I just got cured from Alzheimer's thanks to Obamacare.
Have you seen any of that?
You haven't seen anybody.
I got on.
I made it through.
I got a policy.
Forget being cured.
You haven't even said anybody.
No.
Never-ending series of videos from people loving Obamacare, right?
Don't you think if there were some of those that that's all we would be seeing?
They will see them next week.
Exactly right.
They're out there listening to me.
You know what?
He's right.
Damn it.
We need to make some.
And so this weekend, they'll go into the studio, come up some fake patients.
And next week, we're going to see a rollout of successful stories.
Now, the Washington Examiner had a story earlier this week.
While Julie Boonstra of Dexter, Michigan struggles to survive leukemia, she now also has to cope with being called a liar by the Democrat who wants to be her next senator.
The campaign of Representative Gary Peters is also going after TV stations airing ads in which her story is featured threatening the station's licenses.
The ad by Americans for Prosperity features Julie Boonstra talking about how her insurance was canceled under Obamacare and saying that Gary Peters' decision to vote for the law, quote, jeopardized my health, in her words there.
These ads are airing in Michigan as Peters seeks a Democrat nomination to replace Carl Levin, who is one of the many Democrats retiring because he doesn't want to be in the minority.
So this Democrat, Gary Peters, is accusing this woman of lying and is threatening TV station licenses overrunning the ad.
Once again, pure authoritarian, dictator-like, Stalinistic tactics.
So here you have a guy seeking the Senate seat of Carl Levin, threatening TV stations for running an ad, bought and paid for, which happens to tell the truth about Obamacare.
Now, folks, it's kind of conflicting because there's a bunch of things going on.
The left is having overwhelming success in corrupting this country.
There's just, it's not arguable.
It isn't denial.
They are succeeding at particularly the culture.
They are corrupting the culture, it seems, at will.
For example, Girl Scouts hired lesbian as chief girl experience officer.
As millions of moms consider digging into their pocket as Breitbart's story, as millions of moms consider digging into their pocketbooks for Girl Scout cookies this year, they might like to know about the hiring of Krista Coke John Poehler in the Girl Scouts executive office in New York City.
She's a lesbian married to a woman named Ashley, and she's the girl experience officer for the Girl Scouts now.
So, I mean, they're just, But at the same time, they are, I mean, there's an all-out jihad, I think, being conducted on the culture.
It's undeniable.
At the same time, I think they're in the throes of a this is, I know it sounds conflicting, but they're they're melting down at the same time.
I mean, you've got they're leaving Congress and the Senate, left and right, and all these people, dingy hairy, claiming everybody's lying.
It's a meltdown.
This guy threatening TV station licenses and others running around telling people, many of them probably voted for Obama, tried to sign up at Obamacare, couldn't, got their insurance policies canceled, calling them liars.
So what I mean by meltdown, while they're having this success, they're not happy.
It's the most amazing thing to watch.
They're angrier than ever.
They win this situation in Arizona by totally misrepresenting what the bill was.
And then after the victory, you go to the media and listen to the advocates, and they're just fit to be tied.
They are enraged.
They're incapable of being happy.
Whatever they get, it's never enough.
So by meltdown, I don't mean they're in the middle of losing it.
I do think there's going to be a massive shock to their system in November of the election, but that's only half the story because it really matters who wins as much as who loses.
We'll be back.
Salon magazine, salon.com, headline, why you're wrong about communism.
Seven huge misconceptions about it.
I think this is the kind of stuff being taught in schools.
Export Selection
