Snerdley wants to know how I think this whole thing with the security flaw.
I think the NSA found it.
That's what they're paid to do.
Ladies and gentlemen, the National Security Agency, or whatever it is, the NSA is constantly looking and trying to find vulnerability in every computer operating system there is in their charted effort to track down bad guys who intend to do harm to the United States.
So Apple announces a new operating system.
It was iOS 6 for the iPhone.
And about the same time, I think it was uh Mountain Lion for the Mac 10.8.
So what the NSA does, they've got a program, an automated program that every time a new OS hits, they bombard it looking for ways into it.
And they found one with IOS 6.
They found this security flaw.
They found this one line of code that was there.
What nobody knows is was it an accident?
Quality control fail?
Was it purposely done to let the NSA?
Nobody knows.
Nobody will ever know that.
But I think it was the NSA that found it.
This is what they do.
And a month after they found it, they then went public.
Well, they didn't go public.
Snowden took it public.
When Snowden announced the existence of the PRISM system, which is the NSA's uh Remember when the news came out that the NSA said that these companies were participating with them.
I think the news was that these companies had allowed the NSA into their servers through the backdoor.
And Microsoft was one of the companies.
Google was one of the companies.
Um and they said that Apple was added in October of 2012.
Well, the exploit has been traced back to September of 2012.
Well, that kind of looks interesting to people following this, but I I think the Apple OS is the most secure operating system for consumers that there ever has been.
It's not even comparable to Windows.
The hackers that do viruses don't even try with Apple.
Most success they have is with what are called phishing attacks, and that's when you get an email that looks official from name it.
It could be anybody.
ExxonMobil, Apple itself.
These people come up with fake emails with a link that you are to click.
And then usually it's some kind of crisis bit of news.
Uh question in your bank account, a question about this or that, click the link to either solve the problem or to find out what it is.
You click the link and they've got you.
That's about the extent of it.
And even those are are covered well.
I just think the I think the NSA found this, pure and simple.
And now it's uh took a while for it to be discovered.
And they're gonna patch it.
That's simple.
That's my theory.
But that's all it is, a theory.
Anyway, greetings and welcome back.
Ill Rushbow, here on the Excellence and Broadcasting Network.
Telephone number if you want to be on the program is 800-282-2882.
Now, before I get to my, and it's a huge C, I told you, I mean, it is big.
I I want to I want to close the loop.
You know, we started talking about Arizona, and that is the homosexual agenda.
That's what that's about.
That's the soap opera lead for today.
Well, there's also news about this elsewhere.
A coalition of black pastors, a coalition of black preachers, announced today at the National Press Club, that they are launching a campaign to gather one million signatures on a petition calling for the impeachment of the attorney general.
Black Preachers are going after the first African American attorney general, Eric Holder.
You know why?
They claim on their petition for impeachment that he violated his oath of office by trying to coerce states to fall in line with the same sex marriage agenda.
President Obama and Attorney General Holder have turned their backs on the values the American people hold dear.
Values particularly cherished in the black community, values like marriage, which should be strengthened and promoted rather than weakened and undermined, said a statement by the coalition of African American pastors that's been posted online with their impeachment petition.
That's what they claim.
I think this is amazing.
Black pastors get this.
There's not one Republican.
Maybe they get it.
They just they don't, they don't have the uh the desire.
Let's just leave it at that.
They don't have the desire to go after Obama on his extra constitutionality.
They don't have the desire to go after Eric Holder on his behavior outside the Constitution.
In addition, there are 100 pastors here in Michigan.
Um these guys, these black pastors want to impeach Holder.
Here's a poll quote.
I write today to urge you to take immediate action against the Attorney General for his lawless attempts to undermine the state's sovereign laws regarding marriage, says the petition.
Attorney General Holder should be impeached for abandoning his duty to uphold and defend the law and for pushing a radical agenda on the states in a manner out of keeping with the obligations of his office.
The petition says, I urge you to bring impeachment against Eric Holder for his reckless attempts to undermine our state's constitutional marriage laws and the voices and values of millions of voters.
As a side line related issue, are you aware of what's going on in Uganda?
Uganda, of course, is a nation of black people in Africa.
A newspaper in Uganda published a list today of what it called the country's 200 top homosexuals, outing them, outing some Ugandans who previously had not identified themselves as gay one day after the president enacted a harsh anti-gay law.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said yesterday's signing of the bill by the president in Uganda marked a tragic day for Uganda and for all who care about the cause of human rights.
and he warned that Washington could cut aid to the government of the East African nation of Uganda.
Kerry said in a statement, now that this law has been enacted, we are beginning an internal review of our relationship with the government of Uganda to ensure that all dimensions of our...
The bill originally proposed the death penalty for aggregated homosexuality defined as repeated gay sex between consenting adults and acts involving a minor, a disabled person, or where one partner is infected with HIV.
First-time offenders also face life in jail, contrary to an earlier version of the bill.
It mentioned a 14-year term.
The new law also creates the offenses of conspiracy to commit homosexuality as well as aiding and abetting homosexuality, both of which are punishable with a seven-year jail term.
Those convicted face similar punishment.
In signing the bill, the president of Uganda.
Said The measure is needed because the West, i.e., America, and the UK, are promoting homosexuality in Africa, rejecting international criticism of the law as interference in Uganda's internal affairs.
Now, the Ugandan law is not the first one.
It comes just a month after Nigeria passed a similar measure against gays.
Both nations have been condemned around the world, although it in Uganda, I mean, this bill is widely supported by a vast majority of Ugandan citizens.
So, so the plot thickens here.
What's Obama gonna do?
They're gonna cut him off.
No more aid to Uganda.
I mean, these guys might actually be wishing for the old days with Idi Amin Dada.
Idi Amin with nothing compared to this.
But Uganda's being singled out.
They are um they're a Christian nation, but they're you know, Uganda's not the only nation with laws like this.
Well, I know Nigeria, but try any Muslim country.
What do you mean?
Oh no, any Muslim country is gonna have the pretty much the same law.
Remember, remember all Ahmadini, Colombia.
You may have forgotten this.
Mahmood Ahmedizad came to the United Nations one year.
And he was loved and adored because the media and America hated George Bush.
Bush was the bad guy, and the president of Iran was the good guy.
So he comes to the UN one October, and he is invited to speak to the students at Columbia University, accepts.
He goes over there.
He makes his speech, QA, student stands up and asks him about homosexuality in Iran.
He says, We don't have that.
And they start laughing.
The student body starts laughing.
He says, What do you mean?
We don't have that.
Annisters, are you kidding?
He said, No, we don't.
Do you know of one?
Do you i i d can you tell me where he lives?
Ahmedini Zad wanted to know if somebody in the Columbia audience knew somebody gay in Iran, and furthermore, where they could be found.
It just isn't Uganda, and it just isn't Nigeria.
It's every Muslim, but you don't see this kind of attack on the Muslim nations, do you?
No, I do happen to be right about this.
Now, don't anybody misunderstand.
I'm not sitting here supporting the this this crazy law in Uganda.
That's not what I'm doing here.
I just it's the selective outrage.
Perfectly fine to be mad at the backwards, now all of a sudden, backwards, antiquated African nation of Uganda.
But we're gonna leave alone every Muslim nation which has the same for all practical purposes laws.
Well, well, well, no sooner, ladies and gentlemen, than do I explain to you the security flaw.
Apple just dropped the patch.
Apple just dropped an update to Mavericks 10.9.2, now available via software update, and it's got the SSL patch in it.
So all you gotta do is uh go to software update if you're running Mavericks on your Mac and upgrade to 10 point.
No, no, no, no, no.
I'm not working the inside.
No, of course not.
Working on the inside with Apple.
I have no, I'm just this is just one of the strangest coincidences out there.
Well, it is imminent because this is like the seventh beta.
I've been um I do beta testing.
We've been on seven betas of this thing since October, November, no, since December.
And so anyway, it dropped.
It's it's the the patch is there.
I've got Kristen here from Lexington, Kentucky, who wants to take me to task over some of this.
Hi, Kristen.
Hi, how are you?
Good.
Very good.
Thank you.
Uh I actually I just want to make one correction to what you were saying.
I work in IT security.
And I I think it's a little bit uh dangerous to tell people that it's okay that their home networks won't be targeted in an attack like this.
Um and that they would have to see people physically who might be the attacker.
Because um if you go to a conference like DEF CON, you'll see antennas that are specially made to go after home networks and to broadcast them from large distances.
And people do get targeted if uh um on their home networks.
Uh so I just wanted to make that clear.
Okay, fair enough.
But the odds, the odds of that go down, but if you think about somebody trolling a neighborhood in a large city, they can grab quite a few wireless networks and make quite a few attacks in small businesses.
That's a good point.
I have I have to confess that uh you could you could troll Manhattan and pick up quite a few public if they're especially if they're not password protected, the vulnerability would be huge.
You're absolutely right.
Absolutely.
So that was my only comment.
Other than that, I enjoy your show.
Well, I pre I appreciate that.
You know, normally let me tell Kristen, what happens?
If if if if I start talking, let's say, you know, I'm a radio talk show.
So I start talking about oh uh any scientific subject.
The experts will call me and tell me, you idiot, you buffoon, you don't know what you're talking about.
Shut up!
You're the most you're you most you think you know anything, you don't know anything.
You've just given people all kinds of but you didn't do that.
You said you know the only thing you got wrong was that it's it's it's not safe so much safe for a small network.
The other than that, you didn't rip into me.
No, I I don't tend to rip into people, but at the same time I don't like people to get a false sense of security either.
Well, I wasn't trying to promote a false sense of security.
I was trying to avoid people panicking over this.
Right.
And I don't disagree.
Fear and certain in doubt uh are not good things to spread around.
But uh no, I wasn't gonna rip into you by any stretch of the imagination.
Well, that just means I didn't say that much wrong.
I mean, that's gonna, you would have.
Yes.
All right.
Now you uh are you gonna are you gonna upgrade you gonna do the patch or you do to use Mac?
I have already patched all my devices and I don't have uh a Mac itself, but I have an iPad and an iPhone.
Oh, so you did that on Friday then, okay.
Yes.
All right.
Well, I appreciate the call, Krista.
She that's a good point.
The trolls could easily drive around uh average city block in Manhattan where you could run into a whole host of private networks that would extend outside the uh the building.
If they're not password protected, that is a that is a good point.
I satellite, satellite.
If you're it i th all uh the Wi-Fi that you have on an airplane when you're flying is satellite.
No, it's beaming it.
No, it's beaming, it's beaming it's beaming uh down to you.
It's and that's why it's uh slow.
Yeah, the the uh the aircraft has all the equipment.
Usually usually some aircraft are incapable of it because the uh the tail fin has to be wide enough at the top for a miniature satellite dish in there to get the signal.
And if it's not modified, then they can't do it.
Yeah, so it the all the all the uh the hardware uh is on board the airplane.
There's no be now there is a network called Aircell, which does beam up.
And they use the cell tower network and somehow beam up, but uh it's it's not it's not in use by that many outfits.
Normally normally uh uh i ocean liners and aircraft are serviced by satellite.
All right.
Well, yeah, you'd have to just double up.
I I d uh I don't really know how to how they would go about increasing the speed on a on a Wi-Fi network in the air.
Uh no, th you don't have enough bandwidth to to stream video.
Well, I shouldn't say it i actually it can be done, but I don't think on a on an airliner, yes.
Certain uh sometimes certain places I can do it.
It depends on the connection.
It's really it it really is weird.
You ought to see the map.
You ought to see the coverage map for it's called BBML, broadband multi-link.
That's what Wi-Fi in airplanes is called.
It's BBML.
And they got their own coverage map.
And you wanna when when you leave one satellite coverage, Ari, go to another, you'll lose service for a minute, maybe two, while the well, everything catches up.
And if you don't know that, you think, oh my God, my internet's down.
Oh no.
You start panicking and you get mad and you call people and you nope, got to look at satellite coverage map.
Find out and then it takes a long for the system to handshake with the new satellite.
And that may not be as fast a connection.
So you might be able to stream Netflix while you're flying over St. Louis.
By the time you get to Kansas City, you can't.
Because you're on a different set.
Speaking theoretically here.
It all has to do with speed and packet loss.
Packet drop.
Now look, enough of this.
People don't care about this.
I'm off track here.
Besides, they've issued the patch.
So we move on here.
We'll back.
Hi, how are you?
Welcome back, Rush Limbaugh, the EIB Network, Limbaugh Institute, Advanced Conservative Studies.
I want to take you back to this program on November 3rd of 2008.
This is the day before Barack Obama was elected.
November 4, 2008, was election day.
This I listen to this and I actually get sick.
I go back, you know, Cookie will give me the sound bites of all the things that I said prior to Obama being elected, after he was elected, and before he was immaculated.
And in all the predictions I've made before he was nominated, before he was elected, before he was inaugurated, they've all been true.
Every damn one of them has come true, and it just makes me sick.
Honestly, folks, listen to this.
November 3rd, 2008, as I was desperately trying to get the country to understand what was at stake.
This is what Obama wants to do.
Folks, Obama doesn't just want to, in his distorted, perverted mind.
He doesn't want to just equalize the United States.
It's not just about spreading the wealth domestically.
This guy has, I fear, as his number one desire to tear down the greatness of this country so that we are not better than any other nation.
I think that is his aim.
A lone superpower in the world is destabilizing.
We either need to get rid of ourselves as a superpower or allow another one to evolve.
The day before the election, I was desperate.
I was shouting from the rooftops.
I was begging everybody to listen to me.
The guy wanted to cut this country down to size.
The guy thought this country was unjust, immoral, and unconsciously founded.
Not unconsciously.
It was just unjustly founded.
We didn't deserve superpower status, and by God, we weren't going to be one if he was elected.
He was going to tear this country back down again so we would find out what it was like for other countries to be treated the way we treated them.
I'm going to So much of this has come true.
And then yesterday, the PS desresistance.
A former, I guess former, maybe still Republican, no less.
The estimable Chuck Hegel, who is now the Secretary of Defense for Barack Obama, made an announcement during a press conference at the Pentagon to talk about budget priorities and proposed cuts to reduce the size of the U.S. military.
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what he said.
We are entering an era where American dominance on the seas in the skies and in space can no longer be taken for granted.
It is the end of American military dominance.
That was announced yesterday by a Republican Secretary of Defense working for the Democrat Barack Obama.
So, Mike, would you do me a favor, play cut two and three again back to back.
One right after the other.
We are entering an era where American dominance on the seas in the skies and in space can no longer be taken for granted.
We're just gonna make budget cuts in the military that we all predicted, ladies and gentlemen.
It wasn't just me.
It wasn't just I. There were any number of us on the right begging, pleading with the American people to hear us.
As we forecast what was coming, doesn't matter how we knew.
We knew because we knew who he was.
We knew who he is.
He had told everybody it wasn't a mystery.
The media just didn't report it to everybody else, but we knew.
We had gone back, we'd heard him, we'd read his speeches and books, we knew exactly what he intended.
We're desperate for people to hear us.
So here we are five years in, the economy's wrecked, the health care system is totally taken over and rendered useless.
Consumer confidence is way down, you know what happened in the housing industry, you know what's not happening in the job market, college graduates don't have any to do, we've got full-time work being paired down to part-time, we've got 92 million Americans not working, it's not an accident.
It's not even a coincidence.
President Barack Obama will sharply cut ships, aircraft, and troops as part of a major reduction of U.S. military forces.
That'll face even steeper downsizing in 2016, Chuck Hagel said yesterday.
The defense cuts are going to be formally announced, and the President's upcoming budget proposal would reduce U.S. ground forces to their lowest level since World War II.
At a time when threats against the United States are at an all-time high.
Putin is attempting to reassemble the Soviet Union.
We know what's happening in the Middle East in Syria and Iran, and we're standing by doing nothing.
China is building a blue water navy.
Mr. Limbo, what do you mean by blue water ocean Navy instead of a river navy?
Uh brownwater navy, if it were for rivers, because they're so polluted.
They're building a blue water navy was means for the ocean.
The Chicoms are ramping up.
Several new weapons systems are going to be slashed.
Older weapons systems will be retired.
The military cutbacks have been a central feature of Obama's policy since 2009, when he was immaculated into office.
And according to former Defense Secretary Robert Gates in his recently published book, Duty, since entering office, the president has worked to cut U.S. defenses in order to use the money for domestic programs like food stamps.
However, that's just the practical on the surface result.
The motivation for this is what is hideous.
The reason for doing this, it isn't just to transfer The expenditures, some defense to social and create dependence and keep Democrats in power.
There's something more hideous to this, folks.
And it is what it is.
And it is about reducing the power and the glory of the United States.
Because in the minds of these collective leftists, it was never warranted.
It was never deserved.
We were the problem in the world.
We and our military were the focus of evil.
We imposed ourselves on free people.
And we took their resources like their oil, and we took their diamonds and we took their minerals and we took everything to make ourselves a superpower.
We made them poor.
And we didn't pay them for what we what we stole, in essence.
It's time that we were cut down to size.
This has been coming.
It it was it was easily predictable because Obama said that this was his agenda.
If you paid attention, but people didn't want to pay attention to it.
Either didn't think it possible or didn't care.
And maybe thought was a good thing since they'd been so brainwashed into thinking Iraq was such a disaster.
But of course, take a look at the body count in Afghanistan under Obama and compare it to the body count in Iraq under Bush.
It's not a contest anymore.
But you don't hear about where is the anti-war movement, but it doesn't exist, does it?
When Democrats are in office.
Richard Cohen in the Washington Post watched Susan, he's a Democrat, he's a liberal collar.
You watch Susan Rice on the Sunday morning show Sunday, and he was appalled.
His columns headlined Susan Rice and the Retreat of American Power.
And he even calls out David Gregory for sitting there and flatlining.
Not even because what Rice did, they were talking about Syria.
And uh and Susan Rice said, well, the alternative here is to intervene with American boots on the ground, as some have argued, and I think the judgment that the U.S. has made and the president has made is that that's not in our interests.
And Gregory sat there and flatlined and did not ask Susan Rice, wait, but who has advocated boots on the ground?
Because nobody has.
Nobody has advocated boots on the ground in Syria.
And yet here's Susan Rice creating an Obama straw dog, what he always does.
Well, contrary to what some have argued, we should not put...
Nobody's argued that we should.
Anyway, the retreat of American power.
It is taking place.
It is being done purposefully, and it was known that this was going to happen should Obama win way back in 2008.
We'll be right back.
Okay, it's official.
The patch, the security patch has been applied.
Now, if you download and install OS 10.9.2, you will fix the vulnerability.
It's clear that Apple wanted away.
They they they want every user, their desire, every user using the latest version of the operating system.
There's some old-fashioned people that don't like upgrading for one reason or another, either like a piece of software that doesn't work anymore, but uh so the patch is not a separate patch, at least not yet.
They may patch it separately for people that note upgrades, but they clearly want everybody to upgrade to the latest version of the software.
Let me grab some phones.
Um, in the next hour, we got barburner bar-burner stuff because this NFL N-word stuff is growing.
It's and it's fascinating because the people behind this, the Fritz Pollard Association, are saying that they want to take the game back to the 1950s when it was clean and pure as the wind-driven snow.
But of course, the American left makes fun of anybody who wants to enforce and stand for some decent morality in our culture.
Oh, oh, you want to go back to the 1950s, eh?
Well, that's exactly what the Fritz Pollard guys want to do with the NFL.
Fascinating stuff, too.
Sit tight.
In the meantime, Dale in Chicago.
Welcome to the EIB network.
Great to have you here.
Hello.
Yeah, Rush, keep the faith.
Um, this uh regime agenda when they're trying to export uh abortion rights and homosexual rights.
Seems to me this is a colonialist agenda that we're trying to force people to accept our worldview, our beliefs.
Trying to force it down our throats.
Um like who and what?
Well, isn't that uh definition of colonialism?
No, but I mean who who who who are we trying to force our view of gay rights on?
I'm not arguing with you.
I'm just trying to I'm not I'm not looking at it the way you are.
I'm trying to understand what your what your point is.
That you uh accept the uh liberal worldview on every issue.
Um not only them, they're trying to export it from uh the Washington Seaboard, um, the Atlantic Seaboard over uh what they call flatover country, everybody else who are supposed to um be indoctrinated into their you know agenda.
Uh well, yeah.
Well, I specifically call that colonialism because that's you know what uh supposedly he's fighting against, but it's not well but but colonialism uh involves other countries.
Well, they treat us like another country, they treat us like a different country.
You know both coasts.
Are you talking about Uganda by any chance?
I'm talking about Uganda, Kenya, and some of these other countries where we're trying to force them to accept uh gay rights and and abortion rights, but also uh the heartland of America where the the West Coast and the East Coast are trying to force us on all the Oh, well, that that's that's where I've been confused.
I mean, that's not colonialism.
That's statism.
This is this is authoritarianism.
This is the regime behaviour, you know, extra constitutional uh executive orders uh doing everything they can to force their agenda on everybody.
Unelected, uh whether the law's been passed, the laws that have been passed are ignored, laws that haven't been passed are enacted.
Yeah, uh no question that's what Obama's doing.
No doubt about it.
Uh Keith in Westfield, Indiana.
Welcome to the EIB network.
Hello.
Hello.
Uh nice to talk to you.
It's an honor.
Thank you, sir.
Um I've been listening about uh about what you've been saying about the um the Apple thing, and sounds to me like you know a lot.
I would not call you uneducated about that.
Um one of the things that I thought people might like to know, uh, and maybe you should remind your users, uh, I appreciate you not uh wanting to scare people, is that they really should know how their websites uh flow in that in that like how they progress from screen to screen.
There's a lot of websites now, especially you mentioned Bank of America, and they specifically use uh multi-factor authentication where there's actually uh something that's brought back from the bank or whatever the business is that they should recognize as like their their security image or something kind of times they call it something else like a passphrase, and that they should recognize that before they type in their password.
So it'll be on the password screen, and they they want to make sure that like uh if it's a picture of a dog or a picture of a cat, that that's your picture before you type in your password.
Because the hackers can't they can't get that information.
They can't go to the bank and say, hey, what's the security user?
Right.
If if if you see a screen that uh they ask you to type what you see, and it looks like elongated, stretched out uh letters of the alphabet.
Um that is a that you're right, that's a form of security protection.
Look, there's that the the websites engage in all kinds of encryption and the way they communicate with each other uh with signed certificates to prove authenticity.
I mean it is serious business.
And the people that are trying to exploit that are also very serious.
And it's tough work staying ahead of them.
The people that do this are amazing.
The the the the code guys, these people that do this are just uh have my profound utmost respect, but I've got to go.
I'm out of time.
We'll be back and continue after this.
Okay, folks, one big exciting busy broadcast hour remains.
