CNN right now is analyzing the significance of Obama and the Clintons going to the JFK grave site.
They've got David Gurgen.
Well, they're slobbering all over because he advised four presidents, talking about the significance.
Honestly, the significance of Obama and the Clintons together going to the JFK website.
And no, now they've added one of their infobabes to the discussion.
The significance of a sitting president going to a JFK grave site with the Clintons.
And Gurgen actually seemed to get the eternal flame there.
Gergen actually said it symbolizes the passing of the torch.
Because both these guys, Obama and Clinton, were born during the Kennedy presidency.
I don't know.
I don't I don't know passing the torch to who from who.
I don't know who's passing the torch.
I don't know who is getting the torch.
I don't know what torch they're talking about.
But what is the significance of Obama and Clinton both having been born during Kennedy's life?
But I I kid you not, they're doing an in-depth report on the significance of these two guys going to the grave site.
Anything to cover up this 37% approval rating number that Obama has in the CBS poll that's just out today.
Look at uh folks, Obama I don't look, I got so many things in my head as I say things, because I know how you all are reacting.
And I know a lot of you Rice, like the call we had yesterday.
Don't go all crazy about the falling number, doesn't mean anything.
The Democrats still have the media, it's not gonna matter, doesn't mean diddly squat.
Don't get all excited about it.
But I'll tell you the news is folks.
Let me, before we get to the Jay Leno Man on the Street Thanksgiving business, let me just tell you why this matters.
My mind.
We've got to stop this.
We we have to reverse the direction we're going.
Well, you know, I've got a headline.
John Hindrocker at Power Line says Obama's in free fall.
That means the country is.
And both are true.
Now Obama put the country in free fall, and people are now seeing it.
I think, like Margaret in Sacramento, I think there is a massive awakening going on out there among low information people who had, they didn't look at Obama anywhere near the way you and I see him.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
And I think there is legitimate shock.
You and I, we this is every we understand.
We're not surprised.
What we're surprised at is how long it's taken people to see it.
But for those people, it is a legitimate surprise.
This is they thought their health care was gonna get cheaper, more plentiful, that everybody was gonna have they did for that that one of the things that's so frustrating about all this is what people are made to believe by the media.
I understand that.
But now it's unraveling.
But there's an accompanying story here to this.
You see, middle class Americans have figured out...
Just John Hindrocker, power line.
Middle class Americans have figured out that their health care bills are going up under Obama, and they're cutting back on their spending elsewhere to be able to afford it.
People this economy is in a freefall.
There is no growth, and there is no job creation going on.
And I don't know if you I read the tech blogs, and folks don't doubt me here.
You know, a lot of things that Americans buy are manufactured in China.
And reports out of China are that manufacturing is way down.
Demand in Chinese factories is way down, and that means demand for products made there by the American people are falling.
And get this.
This is a this is a uh uh Bloomberg story.
U.S. retailers are discounting earlier than ever as they brace for the weakest holiday shopping season since 2009.
You want some details?
Try this.
Walmart selling 32-inch flat screen TVs for $98.
Walmart is dangling.
This is Bloomberg.
Walmart is dangling, a 32-inch flat screen TV for $98.
The brand is not noted.
Sears has waived layaway fees.
Sears Kmart Chain is introducing a rent-to-own program.
More than a dozen retailers are opening earlier or for the first time on Thanksgiving Day.
Among the attention grabbing stunts, a $1 million jackpot for one of the first shoppers to visit Gap's old Navy chain on Black Friday.
Faced with wary shoppers and a shorter holiday season, because Thanksgiving comes late in the month this year.
Retailers are piling on deals as they jockey for market share during the most important sales period of the year.
Well, this story dovetails with the story on Obama in free fall and what's happening in China in terms of production being down.
And Obamacare.
People are simply they are now aware that their health care is going to be more expensive, not cheaper.
Remember, they believed Obama's lie.
If you want to know why he's at 37%, it's that lie.
And that lie has opened up to people the reality that he's lied about a lot of things.
All it takes is one.
Their health care, which is after food and shelter, the most important thing to people.
Their health care is skyrocketing in cost.
This they have learned.
And because of it, and because they don't want to do without it, they are making adjustments elsewhere.
And retail spending, good old-fashioned economic consumption is way, way down.
And so is consumer confidence.
Flat screen TV for 98 bucks.
Now, I'm sure it's a deal designed to lure you into the store.
Not everything is priced that way.
But still.
I mean, that's I've never heard of a flat screen TV for 30 32 inches even for $98.
So it's it's it's all connected.
The lie about Obamacare and the reality that it's going to cost through the roof, that's a huge shock.
And people, health care is not something that people think they can do without.
They've got to have it.
And so they make adjustments elsewhere.
By the way, I found the brand name for the 32-inch flat screen.
Let's see if you've heard of it.
Funai.
F U N A I. You ever heard of it?
I haven't either.
It's a Japanese company.
$98 flat screen TV, 32-inch Funai.
And I guess it's F-U-N-A-I.
I guess you're pronouncing Funai.
But it's still flat screen technology.
Okay, here we go.
Last night on the Tonight Show, Jay Leno did one of his men on the street.
Uh it was a Thanksgiving trivia challenge.
And what we have here, this is a rent about a minute and a half.
It's a montage of Leno and several unidentified people that he stopped on the street in Universal City, California.
Now, obviously, I'm playing this for you because it connects directly to good old Rush Revere and the brave pilgrims, which has the truthful story of Thanksgiving as part of the book, part of the story.
Let's listen to what Leno found as he ventured out to the streets of a Universal City, California.
What year was the first Thanksgiving?
I guess I'll have it.
66, 1966.
1966.
The first Thanksgiving was what year?
Feel free to ring the bell at any time.
1492.
1492.
What does that number mean to you, 1499?
Is that the Fundison cruising?
That's what Columbus went cruising.
Where did the first pilgrims land?
Oh, I'm sorry it is.
What president declared Thanksgiving a national holiday?
Ronald Reagan.
Ronald Reagan.
Now, what year would that have been?
1940?
Reagan was president in 1940.
What year was Reagan president?
I'm gonna go with 86.
Okay, where did the pilgrims land when they got here?
East Coast.
Where?
Maryland, Boston.
Plymouth Rock.
Plymouth Rock.
Okay, sir.
How many days did the first Thanksgiving last?
Three.
Three, that's correct.
How did you know it was three?
You need a day for breakfast and a day for lunch and a day for dinner.
What president declared Thanksgiving a national holiday?
No.
Benjamin Franklin?
Benjamin Franklin.
And when was Benjamin Franklin president?
No idea.
Did he fly the kite while president?
Yes.
No.
He wasn't president.
He didn't fly the kite when he was president.
Do you happen to know who the first president was that declared Thanksgiving a national holiday?
George Washington.
Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving proclamation.
Very first president to declare Thanksgiving a national holiday was the first president.
George Washington.
And why was it a day of Thanksgiving?
What were we thanking?
Who and why were we thanking anybody?
We were thanking God.
Same thing the pilgrims did.
The pilgrims were thanking God for the inspiration to organize themselves and survive when they landed in the New World.
And George Washington, the first Thanksgiving, was a thanks to God for the founding of the country and the freedoms and everything that had happened in founding the country.
Now, I don't know how much of this is real, but the fact of the matter is that a lot of people don't know the true story of Thanksgiving.
Most people think what's been taught, see if this isn't what you learned, or maybe even what your kids learned, that the pilgrims got here.
They were a ragtag bunch of racists and bigots, and they were helpless.
And they got here and they didn't belong, and they knew it when they got here, they didn't belong.
And they didn't know anything.
They were pampered religious zealots, and they didn't know how to grow corn or hunt or do anything.
And the Indians, the Native Americans, whose land the pilgrims would subsequently steal.
Extended great love and compassion and taught the pilgrims basically how to survive.
Taught them how to live, how to grow corn, how to do popcorn, how to kill turkey, how to prepare it.
Everything but eat it.
Pilgrims knew how to do that, but nothing else.
And then after the Indians had extended All of that kindness and compassion.
The pilgrims got together with the cavalry and started wiping them out.
That is pretty much what Thanksgiving is taught as being.
Pilgrims, a bunch of helpless conquerors who took advantage of the innocent and affectionate Native Americans, took everything they had after the Indians showed them how to survive, and then kill the Indians and wiped them out and claimed everything for $24, including Manhattan.
That story's not true either, by the way.
But that's what a lot of people are taught.
And of course, nothing could be further from the truth.
And this, even though this is an extreme comedy bit, there's no question.
I don't know how much of that's actually written and how it actually legit man on the street.
But folks, this is why the idea of doing this book was so appealing to me.
The idea just that the counter the falsehoods and the BS that's being taught to young people today about this country at large and particularly its uh its founding.
So I gotta take a break here.
We'll come back and uh thinking out loud as to what I've got.
Have you heard about this this woman, Jessica Sanford?
Well, she was one of the women that that that Obama celebrated, she pointed out, Obama pointed her out.
She was uh she was pointed to, hailed as a great Obamacare success story.
And if you voted for him twice, it's all he was the greatest thing, and and her experience with it was disastrous.
And we've got the soundbite.
I think I'll do that when we come back, and then we'll get back to the phone.
So sit tight, my friends.
Don't go away.
Rush Limbaugh, great to have you.
Hi, folks.
Having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.
Jessica Sanford.
Jessica Sanford cited by the president as an Obamacare success story at a health care event that he held at the White House in the Rose Garden on October 21st.
This was a CNN report.
The upshot of this is that CNN does this story on this Obamacare success story that Obama cited, and the woman cannot afford it, as it turns out.
Sit tight.
A 48-year-old single mom from Washington State bought what she considered to be affordable health care, life-changing event, she said, on the Washington State Health Exchange.
She decided that she was so excited about this news that she wanted to write an email to Obama to say that this had really changed her life, and that she was thankful for Obamacare.
The president included her email in his remarks to people on hand for this big event back in October.
And here's what he had to say.
The CNN report quotes Obama saying, I recently got a letter from a woman named Jessica Sanford in Washington State, and here's what she wrote.
I'm a single mom, no child support, self-employed, and I haven't had insurance for 15 years because it's too expensive.
I was crying the other day when I signed up.
So much stress lifted.
But days, just really three days after she was mentioned by the president, she started having problems.
She was getting letters from the Washington State Health Exchange.
The first letter told her that tax credit was reduced, therefore increasing the cost of her health care plan.
And then take a look at this.
She received a letter just last week telling her that her tax credit had been taken away altogether.
Show you another document here showing what the tax credit worked out to be.
Zero dollars.
This is the CNN report, according to the document that was provided to us by Jessica Sanford.
She describes all this as a roller coaster ride.
Now she says she can't afford insurance in Washington State because of the new developments.
And she's told CNN that she was embarrassed.
So let's go to the audio sound bites.
Up first, Obama himself, October 21st in Washington at the Rose Garden.
I recently received a letter from a woman named Jessica Sanford in Washington State.
And here's what she wrote.
no child support, self-employed, and I haven't had insurance for 15 years because it's too expensive.
I was crying the other day when I signed up, so much stress lifted.
See, this is the this is the perfect example of the flawless perfect citizen in the world of the left.
A single mom betrayed by a predator husband who left her with nothing.
Her bosses are mean and she's never gotten a raise and she can barely afford bazooka bubblegum.
And Obama and the government ride to the rescue.
Yesterday on CNN, Washington State single mom, Jessica Sanford, spoke about being told she didn't qualify for a subsidy and how that affects her financially.
It was like riding a big roller coaster.
They have my credit card, they have the payment date, and then, you know, once again I'm knocked down, and this time it's to zero.
And at my rate of pay with my family size, I just don't understand why I wouldn't get at least a little help with a tax credit.
It was a huge disappointment.
And especially since I had, you know, my story had been shared by the president.
I felt like, you know, I just felt really embarrassed that, you know, he had quoted my story, at least for right now.
I don't I'm not going to be getting insurance.
She didn't qualify for a subsidy or a tax credit.
And now she's unhappier than she was before she began the process and embarrassed because the president told something not true.
By the way, folks, we should point out that Jessica Sanford is still a big supporter of Obama.
And still a big supporter of Obama care, even though she got the shaft.
In fact, she posted the following on her Facebook page.
Back in uh five days ago, November 15th.
She said, Wow, you guys really screwed me over.
First it was the error that gave me too much tax credit.
You said you'd call me and the 7,999 other people, but I still haven't heard from you.
I got over that.
I did find a plan that was halfway reasonable with a smaller tax credit, and I was determined to work into my already tight budget.
And then you send me another letter telling me I don't get any tax credit at all.
And now I have been priced out, and I won't be able to afford the plans you offer.
But I get to pay $95 and up for not having health insurance.
I am so incredibly disappointed and saddened.
You majorly screwed up.
By the way, she's not going to pay $95 because her income is $50,000 a year.
So there her Obamacare penalty is going to be $500.
She doesn't know that yet.
She thinks her penalty is going to be $95.
And next year her penalty will be a thousand dollars.
But even though she says that she was screwed over, she still believes in Obamacare and Obama.
Her son has ADHD.
What's that attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, right?
That's what that is.
And she still has to pay her own health insurance.
Where's the social justice on that?
And she thought it was going to be free.
When she thought it was going to be free, she signed up for the gold plan.
That's what happened to her.
She thought it was going to be free, so she went to the top and found out she didn't qualify for that.
Now she thinks that she got screwed over, but not by Obama.
But rather by the people that she was dealing with.
Here's Linda in the high mountains of wherever.
Where high mountains where?
You in New Mexico by any chance?
Yes, New Mexico.
Hi.
Well, great to have you here.
Hello.
Hi, Rush.
Oh, I'm so nervous.
Rush, over the past few years, the charge of racism, if you were against the policies of the president, has been so odious and so hurtful to people that I believe this dramatic drop in his approval ratings simply ref reflects the fact that people are now willing to say their honest feelings about disapproval regarding the president.
I think people are finally getting the courage and the confidence to to state the truth of their feelings.
Let me let me see, Linda, if I understand exactly what you're saying.
You're saying that this approval number of Obama does not reflect a sudden change of heart.
You think people have always pretty much, or at least for years, have had this unfavorable view of Obama.
It's only now they feel safe in saying so.
Exactly.
I believe that's exact truth.
It wasn't that long ago when I got a phone call from a poster, and I hung up because I didn't want even to say to the pollster that I was against Obama's um policies or against what he was doing, because that charge of racism is just so hurtful.
Uh and it's and we've been hammered with it for years now.
And I just exactly like we said, I believe that these feelings have been here all the time, but now that the late night comedians are starting to to make jokes about Obamacare, the fact that some of the Democrats are distancing themselves from him.
I think it's it's making people like Margaret and some of these other folks have the courage to say their honest feelings.
That's interesting.
However, if I may remind you, Margaret gave me the credit for changing her mind.
No, no, I'm just I'm just being me, you know, being braggadociously funny.
I know what you mean.
You're so you think that people once the pop culture people that they like start making fun of Obama, then it's okay too.
Exactly.
Exactly.
This is interesting.
Uh so you really don't think this is anything new.
You you don't think it's really tied to the failure of Obamacare per se, I mean it's a factor.
You think people have been negative toward Obama for a long time and just afraid to say so.
Well, I think that's true, but I do think the the colossal and huge and well publicized debacle of of the health care have had ha is tied in.
You know, the very fact that we're we're now hearing negative things, hearing suspicions, pe you know, people coming right out and saying perhaps Obama lied.
Um I I think that does play into it.
Well, you know, this you you could be on to something.
You you this could well be a really great point.
I mean, essentially what you're saying is that the Wilder effect has worn off.
Exactly.
And and uh but I'm curious, seriously now.
Did the pollster know he was talking to you?
No, I think it was a random call.
All they did was identify themselves as polls.
And so why were you afraid of what somebody you don't know would think of you?
I know, isn't that strange?
You know, afterwards I thought, why didn't I have this courage?
But the truth of the matter is, for the ever since Obama was nominated, I have been very close-lipped.
I haven't told friends, I haven't told people that I know.
I've been very careful not to ever talk politics because I it we're so hammered with this idea that we're just racist if we're again if we're against his policies.
And it like I say it is it's just odious, it's very hurtful.
It's a I I don't think I don't think people realize what a strong charge that really is, how much it affects people who want to consider themselves good, decent Americans that that don't that are not racist.
I don't think people realize uh just how strong a charge that is, and I think it's kept a lot of people, it can't be just myself, a lot of people very closed mouth about their real feelings.
And now it's going to start to show up.
Well, further buttressing your point is that if you go poll by poll and issue by issue, you find that most of Obama's policies have been unpopular, some wildly unpopular, but to one degree or another, like Obamacare has never been supported by a majority of people.
The stimulus wasn't.
I mean policy by policy, where people had a chance to weigh in on that and not Obama, they were free to speak up.
What do you think of nationalized medicine?
I hate it.
Uh What do you think of the government going into further debt to create I hate it?
But if Obama's put in the question, your theory is people will clam up or say they don't have a problem with it because they don't want to get anywhere near being lectured, ridiculed, or categorized as uh as anti-black.
Exactly.
Exactly.
I really do believe that is the case.
Well, I think you might be on to something.
I uh it there's no question that uh that especially the charge of racism.
That that if that one sticks to you, um that would that that that's hard to erase, it doesn't, it doesn't leave.
But I think you're also right about something.
Most people don't like controversy.
True.
Don't they don't like being part of it.
They might like watching it, witnessing it, and being, you know, entertained by it, but you don't want to be in it.
You don't want to be thought of as controversial.
You don't want to be thought of as divisive or argument.
So the best thing you do is shut up.
And uh I I think you've I think you're right.
I think you're describing actually quite a few people, a lot of people in that uh in that regard.
Um people have their inner sensors, C-E-N-S-O-R-S, if you will.
They censor themselves privately uh based on external stimuli.
And it's a it's a self-protection type of uh type of behavior.
But now, now, for some reason, it has become okay, it has become socially acceptable to say that you don't support Obama, that you disapprove of Obama.
And I think if Linda here is right, this just further explains why they are terrified in the Democrat Party and on the left.
Because remember, everything they do, every every survival mechanism they have is rooted in illusion.
And once they lose that, you know, the the Wizard of Oz, once the curtain goes up, and they're exposed for who they really are, that's trouble city.
And that is right where they are.
Linda, great call.
Thank you much.
Gotta take a break and be back in after just a few minutes.
Don't go away.
Hey, folks, I'll tell you something.
I'm gonna make a prediction for you.
Because man, am I knocking them out of the park on my predictions?
Holy smokes.
What I've predicted would happen in the sports media about the NFL is happening at an even more rapid rate.
Here's another one.
There are more and more doctors now saying that they are not going to participate in either Obamacare or the exchanges or these networks.
And I'm the and this is an easy prediction.
What's gonna happen?
You're gonna start seeing left wingers in the media and on the blogs start attacking doctors for being greedy.
Doctors refusing to participate in Obamacare will be called selfish and greedy, and they've got plenty of money, they don't need all their making.
They could easily live great lives.
They don't have to quit.
They're just they're just greedy and selfish.
That's the next thing coming.
And I got a couple of emails from people during, I just did a course of the program, who are curious to know what is it about Obamacare that's causing people to wake up to liberals and government not being able to do anything.
Because these people have said, I mean, this is nothing new.
The government can't do anything right.
Why is this causing everybody to wake up?
Well, uh, ladies and gentlemen, A, I hearken back to the nature of health care itself.
It is deeply personal.
It's life and death.
It's bankruptcy versus solvency.
You can't get more personal than health care is.
And remember, the Democrat Party has portrayed it as second only to food and what you need.
And the Democrat Party and the insurance companies and the government working.
together to try to improve it have made it so expensive.
Insurance is expensive, actual health care and treatment is expensive, that when they tell you you are just one illness away from bankruptcy, in many people's uh cases, they're right.
So when you, after warning people about all of that, create a system that makes that possibility very real to people, they notice it.
My good friend, our official climatologist, when he's afraid, no, not afraid to admit it, uh, Dr. Roy Spencer, University of Alabama Huntsville, thinks that it is an economy of scale kind of things.
The government screws up on everything.
But this is one sixth of the economy.
This is noticed.
The screw-ups in Medicaid, Social Security, food stamps, big whoop.
Failed promise and a stimulus, big whoop.
But this, one sixth of the U.S. economy, people can't help but notice.
So there are countless possible explanations for this.
But whatever, it is real.
And there are now people who are openly saying publicly how they disapprove of Obama, don't like Obamacare, so it is becoming socially acceptable to say so.
It's not controversial to say so.
I can't tell you how most people don't want any part of controversy.
They scares them.
That's you know, most people are just totally absorbed in what other people think of them.
And those kinds of people are not ever gonna want to be in any way part of controversy.
Somebody like me, I wouldn't know how to live without it.
But most people don't want any part of it.
It's genuinely nerve-wracking.
It is stress-inducing for most people.
And the way to stay out of controversy is to shut up.
In most people's lives, most people's experiences don't say anything.
Even when asked, just fake it, act like you don't know, you don't care, don't make yourself a target.
Don't want it.
But now those uh shackles, if you will, are lifted.
The boundaries are sort of expanded, and people have a little bit more freedom and leeway in being honest about it.
CNN's back to doing real news now.
They're doing a story on uh Michelle Obama talking about how her husband sings in the shower.
