Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
The hell you say.
Now they tell us.
Shut it.
Right there on Fox, they got some Wall Street Journal editorial writers.
Guess what?
Americans are losing health coverage on purpose.
Really?
They just figured that out at the Wall Street Journal.
This is exactly the kind of thing I can't tell you how this frustrates me.
This has been known for three years.
It's been known for five years that that was the intent of Obamacare.
And now, when it's too late to the party, guess what the journal says they've figured out?
Happy go look.
Live from the Southern Command in sunny South Florida.
It's open live Friday.
Americans are losing coverage by political design.
Yeah, in fact, the White House knew out there that 93 million Americans were going to lose their policy.
Ladies, Richard Nixon resigned over a line nowhere near this big.
And you know the hell of it is that Obama doesn't think he lied.
I don't think Obama in his mind is capable of lying.
Whatever is necessary to say or do to advance the agenda is what is morally correct.
It doesn't matter.
He doesn't care.
He doesn't he doesn't think he lied.
Greetings, folks.
Great to have you.
Open line Friday here on the EIB network.
Yes, FedEx came through.
I got it.
Yes, they did.
I mean, first thing this morning.
I got my new uh it's a new laptop.
And so what I've got to do this weekend, I've got to migrate from the old laptop to the new one.
I love doing this kind of stuff.
It you know, it it can it can screw up and take uh hours.
I don't know.
I just like it.
And I got a couple of new iPad airs and I gotta upgrade the current old iPads to the new ones, and I like doing that stuff too.
Uh, just like being on the cutting edge, folks.
Anyway, open line Friday.
We always try to take more calls on Friday than we really make a concerted effort to get some in in the first hour.
And the reason why open line Friday is a different day than Monday through Thursday in is that whatever you want to talk about pretty much is okay.
That's not the rule Monday through Thursday, Monday through Thursday.
You have to talk about something Snerdley thinks I'm gonna be interested in.
But on Friday we broom that.
If whatever you have a question or comment or or talk about something that um hasn't been discussed in your mind, feel free, have at it.
I've always looked at this as a golden opportunity for people, and as a giant career risk.
To me, happy to take it, and I always look forward to it.
Again, telephone number 800-2282.
Last night.
You ready for this on the CBS Evening News?
We have a portion of surprise this woman still works.
Surprise this woman's still employed.
I'm surprised she still walks.
Cheryl Atkison at CBS News with this report.
I don't know how they got this one past Scott Pelley, but they did.
2.7 million unique visits in the first 24 hours.
But at a meeting Wednesday morning, the war room notes say six enrollments have occurred so far.
They were with Blue Cross, Blue Shield, North Carolina, and Kansas City, Care Source, and Healthcare Service Corporation.
By Wednesday afternoon, enrollments were up to approximately 100.
By the end of Wednesday, the notes reflect 248 enrollments nationwide.
The health care exchanges need to average 39,000 enrollees a day to meet the goal of seven million by March 1st.
They had six enrollments on the first day at Obamacare.
Six.
As in six, as in one, two, three, four, five, six enrollments.
They touting 4.7 Million visits, unique visits.
People went to healthcare.gov.
Six people signed up in the whole country.
Six people.
Now, I don't care if the website isn't working and doesn't and it has glitches.
That doesn't explain.
Six people signed up for Obamacare.
And never have been asking Sibelius and Obama to release enrollment figures.
Well, no, no, we can't do that.
It's so hard.
It's so large.
It's uh nothing reliable yet.
It's uh continuing to be a fluid situation.
We can't possibly well let John Stewart know when we've figured it out.
And until then, uh just trust us, it's really going gang, but six people, folks.
Six people.
I know it doesn't sound possible.
Six people.
Six people signed up.
Who are they?
Six people.
I mean, it just it's it's uh their website six hundred and some odd million dollars.
Uh they got six people.
It launched on a Tuesday.
4.7 million unique visits in the first 24 hours.
Um they, you know, this they they say they need 39,000 enrollees a day to meet the goal of 7 million by March, but that's not even gonna get us where we need to be.
7 million is nothing.
What this is I don't care how you look at this, it's an embarrassment.
It's a it's uh it's an it's an abject failure.
It's a 100% clear failure.
Now the drive-by's in our health care stack as recline, the wonderkined young guy from the Washington Post, age 19, thanks if he's lived a life of 100 years, that's the experience they think the guy's got.
They're all worried now.
They're all worried, the drive-by Democrats, the drive-by media leftists are big proponents of the regime.
They're really worried that what this says is that big government really can't do big things, and they're afraid people are gonna figure that out.
They're really worried that people are going to conclude that government just can't do big things, and that's just such a shame.
As though that's something new to people.
Government can't do big things is standard operating procedure.
And it ought to be something that everybody knows.
Forbes magazine, Obama officials, in 2010, 93 million Americans will be unable to keep their health plans under Obamacare.
This is a giant C, I told you.
As Biden would say, or or John Kerry, this is a big effin deal.
And been saying this would happen all along.
But what this does, folks, it confirms that the regime also knew that this would happen.
Obamacare's disruption of the existing health insurance market is only just beginning, and it's far broader than recent media coverage has implied.
And we now know that the regime knew this all along.
Turns out that in a report, obscure report buried in a June 2010 edition of the Federal Register.
Regime officials predicted massive disruption of the private insurance market because that's what was intended.
In other words, Obama and the Democrats have been telling us that employer plans would never be affected at all by Obamacare.
And it was a huge lie.
And the administration has known it was a lie since 2010, maybe earlier.
I mean, that's when it was put in the Federal Register, which is...
The Federal Register, think of it as the federal government's Bible.
Or diary.
It is a it's a it's a compendium of what happens, the federal government.
Lisa Myers and Hannah Reply of NBC News unearthed the information in the Federal Register, cited four sources deeply involved in the Affordable Care Act, saying that 50 to 75% of people who buy coverage on their own are likely to receive cancellation notices due to Obamacare.
The bottom line is that Obama, the regime knew that 93 million Americans would be unable to keep their health care plans under Obama cookie.
I need the montage.
This montage of Obama promising you can keep your plan, promising you can keep your doctor.
Folks, Richard Nixon resigned over a lie that was much less damaging in scope than this one.
I mean, this is an abject, purposeful lie to the American people for the express purpose of passing legislation.
It was this is total fraud.
It is 100% fraud.
And you know this, we talk about this website campus reform.
A great bunch of young people, conservatives, who are attempting what they can do to reform things on the campus and uh in academic, and they're running around, and they're and they're talking to students, you know, low information students, and they are playing all of these sound bites of Obama promising they can keep their plan and now presenting them evidence that they can.
They're asking these kids what they think.
And they think, and they're saying it, this is deceitful.
The president really, this he was deceiving us.
They're shocked, but they're coming to the conclusion that they've been lying to because it's inescapable.
You know, Obama compared uh Obamacare to Apple.
Then you need to ask yourself what would happen if Apple announced a new iPhone.
Um they're gonna roll it out and gonna have a five and a half inch screen.
One phone will get you service with Verizon, ATT, Sprint, T-Mobile, and five carriers around the world.
It's gonna have storage of 128 gigabytes, it's gonna cost 149 without a contract, the unlocked price, 149 dollars, high definition display.
It's gonna come in three different colors.
It's gonna be out on November 1st.
You're gonna be able to order it on the Apple website on October 31st for delivery on November 1st, and when November 1 comes along, the phone is 600 bucks, it's a four-inch screen, it doesn't work on any LTE networks, and it's not gonna be available for six months after you order it.
What would happen to Apple computer if they did that?
That would be the end of it.
But the problem is this is big government lying to the American people, and there is no such market recourse.
I mean, you can't just get government out of your life.
You can't refuse to interact with the government.
But folks, this is a huge lie.
This is a purposeful, huge fraudulent lie known by everybody in the regime with the intention of deceiving the American people for the express purposes of electing Barack Obama, re-electing him in 2012.
I mean, he's running around talking about you get to keep your plan if you like it, you get to keep your doctor if you like it, your premium is gonna come down $2,500.
Don't think people didn't vote for him on that basis.
Don't think that they didn't care about that.
They did.
This is a big effing deal, as John Kerry or Joe Biden would say.
Here's the montage.
This is you you keep in mind that the administration new, it's in the federal register.
This is not Forbes saying they talk to three or four sources, it's in the Federal Register.
I'm gonna, you know, something else.
If it's in the Federal Register, it means that it is the official position of government.
That means the media is complicit in this.
This is journalistic malpractice.
This is huge, folks.
And it's it's it's a purposeful, deceitful, fraudulent lie.
I think Obama's lie about keeping your insurance may be the biggest lie ever told by a sitting president.
This was not an error.
It was not a mistake.
This was a calculated, purposeful lie.
And the mainstream media carried his water on this until just last week.
And now they're claiming that they knew it was a lie all along.
Isn't it funny how they never told us no?
But now they say the other well, we we we kind of knew this.
In fact, they viciously attacked anybody who dared to question Obama's claims.
They viciously tried to destroy anybody who was trying to tell people that Obama was lying through his teeth about this.
In fact, I think the way the media has covered Obamacare from the start has been one of the worst examples of modern day journalism in my lifetime.
And it's an example of why we do need a free press instead of a news media that's just the PR firm of the Democrat Party.
Here is this a minute, 20 seconds.
It goes it covers five years of Obama statements, and not one of these is repeated.
If you have your plan and you like it, and you like your doctor that you don't have to change plans, the government is not going to make you change plans.
You're going to have a plan that lowers premiums by $2,500.
I am actually not interested in just capping premiums.
I want to lower premiums by $2,500 per family.
We will start by reducing premiums by as much as $2,500 per family.
You can keep your choice of doctor, keep your plan.
The only thing we're going to do is lower costs, cut the average family's premium by about $2,500 per year.
It's time to bring down the typical family premium by $2,500.
And to bring down the costs...
The first thing I want to make clear is that if you are happy with the insurance plan, nobody will make you change it.
A system where we're going to work with your employers to lower your premiums by up to $2,500 per family per year.
We will start by reducing premiums by as much as $2,500 per family.
And we will lower premiums for the typical family by $2,500 a year.
And if you already have health care, then we're going to work to lower your premiums by up to $2,500 per family per year.
We're going to work with your employer to lower premiums by up to $2,500 per family per year.
If you like your insurance plan, you will keep it.
No one will be able to take that away from.
In 2010, in the Federal Register, it was written, the administration projected 93 million Americans would be unable to keep their health plans under Obamacare.
93 million would lose their doctor and their plan under Obamacare, which means all of this was known and, furthermore, all of this has been intentional.
Hi, how are you?
El Rushbo back.
It's Open Line Friday, where we have more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.
Rush Revere and Liberty are being deluged with fan mail.
Folks, I have to tell you, it is so...
I don't know of another word to describe it, but but cute.
And I don't want to offend anybody with that.
But it is just, it's so cool to be taking the values of this program to young people.
I I can't tell you how long I have you sit around and you think about what you could do to expand career or whatever, and obviously reaching young people is a is a key element.
This age group, 10 to 13, for whom Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrim's written, obviously not going to listen to Talk radio unless they're with their parents.
But they're now, because the parents are buying the book for them, they're reading the book and they're reacting to it, and they're sending the characters in the book fan mail at the twoifyt.com website and they love it.
And I can't, I can't tell you how thrilling it is for me and all of us involved in the project to suddenly realize that the things we hold dear, the values, the traditions, all of these things, they're out there.
They're reaching that audience and we're getting started with this, and they're reacting to it, and they're getting it, according to the mail, and according to some email even from their parents.
So it's just really cool.
It's cute to read some of this mail.
It's um and it's really gratifying.
So you you will accept my thanks again for this for helping to make it happen.
It's just it's just some of these, some of these emails from these young people are just priceless.
And we'll be back.
Don't go away.
By the way, folks, I want to remind you again at Rushlimbaugh.com.
We got websites at the Wazoo here.
We've got a Facebook page.
We're working on a um uh Rush Revere Facebook page.
Uh, we're thinking about hiring that company from Canada that uh the regime used to set up our uh our Facebook.
Just kidding.
Now, yeah, well, no, we can't afford that bunch.
Anyway, we're gonna we're getting ready at Facebook page.
We've got the twoif by tea.com uh page, which is the uh the Rush Revere portal, if you will, for the book and everything about that.
And at Rush Limbaugh.com, we posted, it did this yesterday.
I wanted to remind you a YouTube video, interview of me by the publisher of the book, Simon and Schuster, about why I did this.
And it's a little bit more extensive than what I've said here on the air.
So uh that's available at rushlimbaugh.com.
So we we've got you surrounded, covered.
Everything happening on this program and with the new book at rushlimbaugh.com or twoifyt.com.
Food stamp benefits.
Food stamps in USA Today, food stamp benefits will be cut.
Is that right?
Food stamp benefits will be cut to more than forty seven million Americans starting today as a temporary boost to the federal program comes to an end without a new budget from a deadlocked Congress to replace it.
So guess who's gonna get blamed for this?
There are food stamp cuts coming, and it's gonna be the fault of the Republicans, right?
Because they did the shutdown, and that's responsible, they're responsible for not having a budget.
At some point, at some point, this is going to reverse, and they're gonna overplay this.
The Republicans, after a while, cannot possibly be responsible for all of this in people's minds.
And now that folks, it is, it is out there.
This this overwhelming lie, and there's no other word to describe it.
It's not a prevarication, it's not a misstatement.
It wasn't an error.
It wasn't a mistake.
It was an out and out lie told to the American people in good faith.
It was a lie, it was a it was a false promise they get to keep their insurance if they like it.
They get to keep their doctor if they like him or her.
And it was an abject lie, and people are learning this now.
And but you you know the the limbaugh theorem, folks, is coming into play here.
What Obama's approval numbers are plummeting.
His likability numbers are plummeting.
Why?
Because he's now seen as governing.
He's not seen as an outsider in Obamacare, as he is in everything else.
He's not seen as somebody campaigning all the time against powerful forces trying to stop him.
He owns this.
This is named after him.
This is Obamacare, and he now has been proven to have lied in a major way.
And the drive-bys can't protect him.
They can't, they can't blame this on the Republicans, not with any credibility.
The Republicans never said you get to keep your doctor.
The Republicans never said you get to keep your plan.
That was Obama.
And so the limbaugh theorem in reverse is being demonstrated again.
He's not getting away with it here, and look what's happening.
He's being held accountable.
His numbers are plummeting.
It still represents a golden opportunity by the Republicans, I don't see them taking.
That's one of the frustrating things about this.
They just ought to be all over this kind of stuff.
Shouldn't, it shouldn't just be us in the new media shouting from the mountaintops and clamoring for people to hear the truth about Obama's lie.
Anyway, food stamp benefits are going to be cut to more than 47 million Americans starting today as a temporary boost to the program comes to an end because of the budget lock, deadlock.
Under the program, which is formerly known as the supplemental nutrition and assistance program, SNAP.
Under the program, a family of four that gets $668 a month in benefits will find that amount cut by $36.
You know, I I look at this.
Family of four that just gets $668 a month.
That's real money.
You add 47 million times that?
That is real money.
$668 per month.
I remember when I was Sacramento.
Now admittedly, this is 198.
What would it have been 86?
I had a friend who loved to go to Reno.
And he hired a limo and he took me with him.
I didn't have any money.
I mean, I was doing okay, but I didn't I didn't have money to gamble.
I didn't have money to play around in a casino.
This guy, in order to have companionship, gave me $500.
So here go get some chips.
And I put that $500 in my pocket because it was a house payment.
It felt like my ship had come in.
It's just mere $500.
And I don't care if it's 20 years ago.
$668 a month, that is a lot to be given?
*Bad*
And then you multiply that times $47 million.
And now we're about to have a panic because that $668 is going to be $62?
They're going to be a $36 cut.
This food stamp program, it says here, benefits one in seven Americans.
That's outrageous.
Is it any wonder 90 million Americans out of work and they're all eating?
What do you want, Mr. Limbody?
You want them to starve?
No, of course I want to.
I want people to work.
I want people to learn to provide for themselves.
I want people to make the best of their life for crying out, not just be a sponge.
I just think it's man, it just, it's it's so destructive to do this to people.
$668 a month on $47 million.
One in seven Americans is on this program.
And it says they're vulnerable populations will be hardest hit by the cuts.
Well, of course.
In New York, more than one million elderly people or those with disabilities will feel the impact.
About 2.3 million children in both California and Texas will be affected.
In California, overall, a cuts will affect more than 4 million residents will amount to the equivalent of losing 21 individual meals per month based on calculations used by it's as though these people can't provide even an MM for themselves.
The idea that without food stamps, people are going to starve.
How bad is that?
And you understand when I say this kind of the liberals listening to me thinking, my God, how could you be so mean and cruel?
And I think it's the exact opposite of mean and cruel.
I think the idea that people will we've got a story in USA Today about people might go hungry with a $36 a month cut in the food stamp budget.
Something is really, really wrong.
It was like the the school lunch cuts back in 1995.
What parents uh unable to feed their own kids if the school lunch program is cut, which it wasn't, but this hypothetically, we cut the school lunch program, and kids are going to starve?
How does that work?
Do parents not know how to feed their own kids?
We're really going to lose people going to go without $21 meals this month because they have a $36 cut in their food stamp allotment.
The idea that that is perceived as reality is what perpetuates programs like this and increasing them.
And the idea that suggesting that people maybe take care of themselves is offensive.
That is insulting.
I remember during the heat of the homeless fraud in the early days of this program, you had Mitch Schnyder and the boys running around saying they're three million homeless, and there never were three million homeless.
And I said, Have these people ever thought about maybe getting a job?
And I was set upon by the media, easy for you to say, get a job, as though there's something insulting about suggesting somebody go work.
And it was insensitive to suggest such a thing.
And it proved that I was a brute and a mean spirited whatever.
But you do what you have to do, okay?
So you're getting six hundred and sixty-eight dollars a month and they're going to take thirty-six away.
So you're just going to sit there and starve.
And that's of course what the left wants you to think that'll happen.
People cannot get up every day without the government being right there.
And then they can't get to the shower right with that government being right there.
And they can't do whatever.
They can't brush their teeth, they can't wash their hair, they can't do it unless government's right there.
And then they can't leave the house and go to work because the government's right there, making sure they cross the street safely.
And then they can't, once they get to work, well, they're not going to work.
Forget that.
And then wherever they go, they can't get there unless government's involved.
Is that this destroying people?
This is literally destroying people.
It's taking away their potential as human beings, taking away their dignity.
And all of this, by the way, so that Republicans can be blamed.
This cut in the food stamp program you want, this is just to facilitate the The Republicans being categorized mean-spirited, heartless, cold-hearted, poor people having their food budget cut because the Republicans wouldn't extend the budget, blah, blah, blah, blah.
In the meantime, this country has been set up, defrauded, and lied to by the current president in ways that have not happened in my lifetime by whoever you think the worst president is.
It's unprecedented.
Purposeful deceit and fraud.
To get people to re-elect a guy to implement a program that was not honest.
People weren't honest about it.
And it's going to end up costing everybody more.
It's going to wreck their health care.
It's going to wreck the whole health care system.
It's in the process of doing that.
Now you got hospitals pulling out of it.
Full hospitals are saying we're not participating.
They can't stay in business if they do.
They're going to try to make it on their own with patients, customers, and so forth who are also not participating.
Got to take a break.
If I don't, folks, I'll keep going here till three o'clock without stopping.
I could.
Let's take a look at the name of the food stamp program, supplemental nutritional program.
It's not supposed to pay for all of your food.
It's not supposed to pay for all of your beer.
It's not supposed to pay for all of your cigarettes.
It's not supposed to pay for all of your candy bars.
It's a supplement.
Under the program, the citizen is still to provide the bulk of his own food.
Just like Social Security was a supplemental retirement fund.
You're not supposed to depend upon it entirely.
But that's out the window now.
That's gone.
All right, keeping my promise.
Uh Getting to the phones here in the first hour on open line Friday, Steve in uh in San Jose.
Great to have you on the program, sir.
Hey, Rush, what do you think the chances are that once all the cancellations have gone out, everybody loses their insurance, and the website still doesn't work, and nobody can sign up.
Obama comes out and says, don't worry, we'll just assign you a policy.
And of course, they know what's best for us because they know about our lifestyle.
Well, you you might be being a little facetious here, but let's let's play this out.
Website isn't working, the system is down, even though they tell us it's up and running, and they cannot and are not registering anywhere near enough people at healthcare.gov or any of the uh other exchanges.
And let's say that in the midst of all this, they say it is working.
It's your problem, not ours.
Let's say they do not delay the mandate.
And so even though you can't buy insurance, you are required to.
And let's say they don't move the mandate.
What will they do?
And you know, you may chuckle.
This is a totally legitimate question.
We have a president who I pointed out two days ago has been playing dictator on things.
Let me make that point again.
Because I thought that it it was a uh if I say so myself, it was a powerful point.
Here you have the president dictating various things about Obamacare.
And he promised that you would not lose the policy that you have if you like it, and he promised that you would be able to keep your doctor.
And he made everybody think that they're gonna experience premium price reductions at $2,500.
And he made everybody think that he cared.
This is the big thing.
Everybody believed that Obama personally cared about them and their health care and their life.
And we know that Obama has been granting waivers to people who are finding it arduous to comply.
He's granted waivers to his union buddies, he's granted waivers to well, there are 2,500 of them.
We know that members of Congress and their staff, after they whined and moaned about the cost, they were promised subsidies to make it easier to limit the hardship that accompanies Obamacare.
Well then why doesn't he if if he can dictate things, he could play dictator and change this part of it and change that part, even though it's not the law, he can do that.
Why can't he play dictator the other way?
Why can't he let you keep your policy?
Why can't he let you keep your doctor?
Why can't he give you $2,500?
Why can't he make it easier for you?
If he does for others.
If he's gonna play dictator and in in various aspects of this and make it harder on certain people he doesn't like like insurance companies, here's a golden opportunity to use his dictatorial pretend powers and make it easier.
he doesn't, does he?
He's not using his play dictator powers to make this easier for you, is he?
He is for his cronies.
So taking the question, what happens if there's no place to buy insurance, and yet you're required by the law to do it?
Steve said, maybe he just assigned you a policy.
What's to stop him, folks?
Seriously, what's to stop him from doing something with everything that happened or has happened, that's that's a legitimate question to ask.
Okay, Obama's just gonna decide.
The administration is just gonna decide.
Kathleen Sabeli, who are just gonna decide.
Okay, you're gonna get that policy.
We're gonna give you and others like this policy, and that's your insurance.
And here's what it costs, and so forth and so on.
And and that's not the law.
I mean that's how they have been operating.
What's to stop him from doing something like that?
Eventually, folks, that's where we're headed.
I mean, single payer.
What do you think single payer means?
Single payer, as a phrase, may not really carry the intention we need.
Single payer is government run health.
Single payer is socialized medicine.
Single payer is not good.
Back in the second.
Sobin Light Friday, ladies and gentlemen, we'll be wrapping up a really great week.
Busy broadcast excellence here at the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
We'll be right back.
Export Selection
