It's great to have you here as always, El Rushbow, meeting and surpassing.
All audience expectations every day, with half my brain tied behind my back just to make it fair.
So Mitch McConnell, a Republican leader in the Senate, just asked the Senate to pass a bill that would fund services for veterans.
And Senator Harry Reed, leader of the Senate, objected.
In a nutshell, I mean what happened was that McConnell asked consent to pass the veterans' funding bill, Reed objected to funding the veterans programs.
Now, if Harry Reed were a Republican, we'd be hearing that he wants veterans to die in the streets along with the kids with cancer.
But we're not hearing that on the Washington Beltway TV networks.
Because they're covering for Harry Reed and so forth.
But here's another sign, ladies and gentlemen, that I think they're getting desperate on the Democrat side.
Obama went out today to a construction company.
The M. Lewis Construction Company was in Rockville, Maryland.
And in this speech this morning, Barack Obama warned seniors that their social security checks might not be forthcoming.
If this keeps up.
He spent much of his speech this morning warning that while the ongoing government shutdown was damaging, failure to raise the debt ceiling by an October 17th deadline would be even worse.
The president said in a government shutdown, social security checks still go out on time.
In an economic shutdown, if we don't raise the debt ceiling, social security checks don't go out on time.
In a government shutdown, disability benefits still arrive on time.
In an economic showdown, they don't.
Now, to veteran observers of the Washington scene, and I count myself among them, this was entirely predictable.
Only a matter of time before Obama threw the Social Security card, if things were not going his way.
In the past two days, the President of the United States, I think in an unprecedented way, has attempted to frighten the stock market and talk it down.
And for a while it was under 15,000 and down 180.
It it he did.
He did scare the stock market tremendously.
Now it's the old Trump card.
It's the oldest card in the book.
This is threaten the seasoned citizens with losing their social security checks.
Here's why the Democrats have a problem with all of this.
At the root of all of this is the implementation of Obamacare.
Don't forget now, the vast majority of the American people oppose it, do not want it.
The reporting on Obamacare has been pretty upfront.
All the waivers, all the freebies, all the exemptions, all the subsidies that members of Congress get.
I mean, these things have added up.
There's been a cumulative impact.
People of the country know that friends of Obama and members of Congress are getting special deals that they can't.
This is known.
In addition to people not supporting Obamacare, there have been numerous pundits for years warning Americans it was going to be a boondoggle.
Distinguished Americans like me have been warning Americans that Obamacare was a disaster waiting to happen, that the federal government isn't competent and has no business running something this massive.
No matter how much they care, no matter how much compassion they pretend to have, no matter their good intentions.
Well, guess what?
Distinguished Americans like me are being born out by real life.
People living real lives are going to sign up at these exchanges and they're encountering an absolute nightmare.
It isn't being reported.
The AP is talking about how good the demand is.
Oh, yeah, AP says.
Why, this is a great sign.
It shows how much interest there is, which is journalistic malpractice.
This is not a question of interest.
People have to do this as a matter of law.
If they don't, the IRS, we now learn, can literally take the fine right from their bank accounts.
Did you know that?
That's the news today.
The I No, tax returns where they're going to uh if if they have to, of course, if they if they can get your fine from your refund, they'll do that.
But if they can't, if you don't owe, if you're not owed a refund or whatever, they can go to your bank account and get the fine.
I kid you not.
Now, in all of this, I'm just telling you, the Republicans are not being blamed.
Republicans didn't ever support any of this.
The Republicans are the ones warning about it.
So there are a lot of reality checks taking place out there, and of course you're not going to see the inside the beltway media tell you about this.
The reporting on this is going to be non-existent.
Now Obama's out there demanding a debt ceiling be raised, or else seasoned citizens aren't going to get their checks.
I think this signed desperation.
I did because it's not.
This is October 3.
We used to get two weeks to this October 17th deadline.
You've got Chuck Schumer and and a number of other Democrats, they can't stop talking about Ted Cruz.
Well, I know they're trying to destroy Ted Cruz, but you again, uh this is a win for Ted Cruz.
Now, if you're inside the beltway, you might not think so.
If you're in a Republican Party, you might be tended to tempted to blame Cruz because you don't like all this negative press.
But the negative press is coming from places that have audiences of 100,000.
CNN.
In the daytime, Fox's audience is a million people.
Folks, we're we're not, we're not really talking mass.
Peel here.
I've always tried to caution people not, and it's very hard.
I have to fight this.
It's not even a temptation.
It's just a it's a vacuum.
It sucks you in.
You have to fight daily and consciously to avoid being sucked into the template every day that is so-called news.
You know, what is the news of the day?
The news of the day is whatever the Democrat Party thinks they have to do to get their agenda advanced.
That's all it is.
That means you've got to rip Republicans to shreds, it means you've got to lie about how great Obama is, if you have to lie about what Obamacare is, whatever it is, that's what the news is.
There isn't any news.
The news is what's happening outside of Washington, and they're not talking about that because they don't live anywhere but Washington.
That's all that matters.
News media folks do things for two reasons, either to advance the agenda or to talk to themselves.
They do stories for each other or to advance the agenda.
But they're not trying to meet the expectations of an audience per se.
They don't really care.
I'm just telling you to keep a sharp eye here.
Obama already threatening seasoned citizens with a loss of their social security checks.
I want to warn you, there's going to be plenty of evidence that I'm wrong.
If you continue to watch this Inside the Beltway News all day and don't do anything else, you're going to see there will be some Republicans and some so-called conservative stand-up.
We cannot allow ourselves to be blamed for social security checks being held up.
We must tell Cruz to back off.
We must get rid of Ted Cruz.
You're going to hear Republicans continue to say this.
Linguini-spined Republicans inside the Beltway.
go on TV and say we've got a cave, we're being irreparably harmed and damaged by this.
It'd be a terrible error if that actually happened, but you're gonna hear it, and you're gonna have to actively fight to reject it.
Here's some other news.
California Exchange overstated its web traffic for the Obamacare launch.
The Obama California Health Exchange vastly overstated the number of online hits that it received Tuesday during the rollout.
State officials said that Covered California, which is a Democrat get out the vote group, that's who's running the exchange, along with NAALCP, the SEIU.
Covered California website, got 645,000 hits the first day.
They reported 5 million hits.
They didn't get 5 million hits.
And they originally claimed that that 5 million hits figure was a sign of really strong consumer interest.
And a major reason why people had so much trouble getting in.
Oh my god, oh my god, look at we've got five million people trying to get on our website.
Oh my god, oh my god.
They didn't.
There wasn't Katie Bartador excitement.
There wasn't high interest.
Whatever percentage of the California population, 645,000 is, is it?
And in large measure, they did it because they knew they had to, or thought they'd had to.
And some of them, I'm sure, thought they were going to get a cheaper premium.
I'm sure they thought some of them thought they were signing up for free health care.
Don't forget that either.
What these people's expectations are.
They think they're getting free health care or very cheap health care, and they're not finding that to be the case.
At all.
In truth, in total, there were 514,000 unique online visitors to the California exchange.
So that 645,000 hits, there are some dupes in there.
New Orleans Times-Picayune, Obamacare website glitches leave Blue Cross, Louisiana without new enrollees after the first day.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield say that they spent $60 million preparing for the opening day of Obamacare.
They did not get a single customer.
Thank you.
In New Orleans, Louisiana.
They did not get a single customer in Louisiana.
They could not sell any policies because the government website, healthcare.gov, was down all day.
And this is particularly rich since Blue Cross and Blue Shield is the insurance company that worked the closest with the regime to give us Obamacare because they saw massive numbers of new customers mandated by law.
One of the reasons the insurance companies went along with this at the outset was they they, oh my God, mandated?
The government is telling people they've got to buy our product.
Where do we sign up?
They couldn't wait.
But the regime's exchange didn't work.
Website didn't work.
Republican states, southern governors probably clogged up those Internet lines on purpose so that people couldn't get in.
Now, can I throw something else out there to you people?
Um 26 states that have no 26 states that do not have an exchange, so they will use healthcare.gov.
Other states do have an exchange, like Covered California, they've got their website, and the AS AFL CIO and uh NAACP.
Um is it going to be, do you think, before fake health care sign-up websites appear, uh Promising you cheap premiums, and here's where you fill out your social security number and your name and your address and your email address and your bank account.
And how many people are going to end up being defrauded by the do you realize the potential for that here?
This could end up being the single biggest threat to individual security and and identity security that we have in this country.
And it could be brought to you by the Obama administration.
Just the other day, I'm sure this happens to you, I got an email that looked exactly like it was from a credit card company I use.
I mean it looked exactly like it.
And it claimed that I that there had been a fraudulent attempt to use my card, and they needed me to log on and provide some information to ascertain whether or not there had been fraud.
And I almost, because this particular credit card company is very vigilant about this stuff, and this would not have been the first time it was legit.
I almost clicked on the link until I noticed I received this thing at an email address that the credit card company doesn't have.
So it was a fishing PH ISH.
If I had clicked on that link, who knows what little vermin would be running around my was my laptop.
Who knows?
And those things are common.
Uh supposedly UPS sends them out or American Airlines.
You name the these fraudulents, the fraudulent attempts on this stuff are just everywhere.
Do you can you even imagine the hacker creativity there's going to be with Obamacare?
You this has the potential to be really, really bad.
All kinds of people giving up their social security number thinking they're signing up for Obamacare.
At really reduced sign up early, sign up now and save big low premiums.
That kind of you know, I'm right.
This this I'm sure the hackers are already launching these they can't I'm I'm telling you, they probably can't wait for this to happen.
And you wait till it does, and it will.
I wish it wasn't gonna happen.
But you know people are gonna get lured into this stuff.
It isn't gonna be hard as expensive as health insurance is.
You know, a fake website promising all this stuff.
And since it's the government, everybody thinks you have to give your social security number to the government.
You have to do that.
Uh that's how they know who you are.
There won't be much resistance to it.
So there are just countless ways in which this is gonna mess people up big time.
I got to take a break, my friends, but we will continue much more straight ahead when we get back.
Manhattan Beach, California.
This is Scott and welcome, sir, to the EIB Network.
Rush, thanks for taking my call.
Yeah.
Hey, today you've been talking a lot about the media, and I've been saying for a long time that the media is our number one enemy.
Barack Obama could be defeated tomorrow if our media would do their job.
And the Tea Party has done a great job calling our congressmen, our senators.
But they just put a staff person on the phone at minimum wage or whatever they're they're paid.
And I don't know that the message actually gets to those people.
And I'm thinking that the surge that we need to have now is we need to start calling the tip line at our local newspapers, our local ABC, NBC, CBS affiliates, NPR, and take those Tea Party movements, the signs that say remember the four dead in Benghazi.
And go to the local ABC news station and stand out in front of their buildings and call their tip lines, flood the news media's.
Stop calling Congress all the time and call, put on your speed dial call every day calling.
The congressional phone lines are shut down now anyway because of the shutdown.
And that's that's actually a an interesting point because they it it it would be cool if they could hear from people out there.
And I they are hearing at me of this program.
But what do you want them to I like your idea?
What do you want them to say when they call a tip line?
I want them to call up and say, hey, I've got a tip.
There was four Americans killed in Benghazi.
Let's do a report on that tonight.
I would dis I would disagree with that, and I'll tell you why.
That is a hot, but they're just going to ignore it.
You know what you need to do?
Your idea is great.
Call the tip line with a real local story.
Call the tip line with a real story about people not being able to sign up to Obamacare.
Call a real call a tip line with something that is really happening.
Exactly.
You could dr you could listen to Rush Limbaugh's show.
And as you're talking, be dialing, because it's hard to get through your show.
Call your local media and report or ask them to do a story on what you're talking about for the day or go to the city.
Yeah, but you're really doing a tip.
You're not you're not calling to taunt them.
Right.
Or if you're driving down the road, Rush, and you see that NB NBC four truck.
Get it, follow it, and where they set up their camera, go around behind them and stand with your protest sign there.
Do not let the media because they are our number one.
They're our number one opponent.
I knew.
Look at you you're but lead them to real stories.
Tip them about real stories.
Susan and Tallahassee.
I'm glad you waited.
It's your turn.
Hello.
Hi, Rush.
Hi.
Nice to talk to you.
Um I was just thinking when you uh hear all the venom that the uh Democrats have against the Tea Party and Ted Cruz, and then you think about this uh terrible IRS scandal, which you know I don't think is getting anywhere near enough attention about the.
Well, that's it's a great example.
Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
It you you don't think it got enough well it didn't inside the beltway, but I guarantee you that is another thing that Americans all over this country are aware of and know of because it touched them, particularly the Tea Party.
This is another of course you're not gonna hear the Washington Beltway News tell you about it or anybody else, but believe me, its impact was felt far and wide.
Don't doubt me on that.
Well, the thing is that if you look at that, those four million votes that nobody can figure out, you know, why would they the Republicans lost it?
Uh that's the vote they suppressed by not allowing tax exempt status to about these hundreds of organizations.
That could be the four million votes.
Possibly.
It could be a a good percentage of them, yes.
Well, anyway, can I just say one quick thing about your tea?
Let me see.
It's okay, go ahead.
Your tea party.
Um not only is the tea great cold, but you know, sometimes I'm by the pool and it stays in the sun for a while, it's delicious, hot.
And and also I have a water filter in the fridge, and I just I refill all your bottles with water and go all outside and show the whole world that you make water too.
You know, I I I gotta I have share something with you.
When we first started the tea business, and we designed the bottles.
I I thought I said to Catherine, I said, you know what, people are not gonna throw these away.
They're gonna keep these bottles because A, they're great, they're quality bottles.
They're not so flimsy that they squeeze in your hand and crackle and crunch and and and fall apart.
Plus, they've got my picture on them.
I said people Exactly.
People are gonna keep these and reuse them.
So I am ecstatic to hear you say so.
Well, thank you for everything you do.
No, thank you, Susan.
I I appreciate the call.
I uh I really do.
Do you know, by the way, folks, that Ted Cruz had a teleconference town hall recently?
One hundred thousand participants.
One hundred thousand participants in a teleconference town hall.
That is not insignificant.
Now there the the U.S. Capitol is on lockdown.
Uh There were reports that shots were fired.
And the Capitol Police say that there's an active shooter running around.
So they have asked people to take shelter where they are.
They don't people, they don't want people leaving the Capitol where they are.
Just uh they're in their office, stay there, take shelter there.
And uh no more details, at least I don't know any more details than uh than that.
Um, the question is how does how does Ted Cruz get a hundred thousand people on a telephone town hall, and Obama cannot get a thousand people to sign up on one of his exchange websites.
You ever stop to think about that?
In California, they had all of 515,000 people all day sign up.
They lied and said they had five million.
They didn't, they had 515,000.
Ted Cruz is a teleconference town hall that most of you probably haven't even heard about, and a hundred thousand people on it.
Tele a telephone town hall online.
It was last night, and it was on the continuing resolution.
Here's uh here's Bob in Metary, Louisiana.
Great to have you, sir.
Hello.
Hi, hi Rush.
Great to talk to you.
Thank you.
Um, what I was wondering was is if we're in um shutdown at the moment and there's no funding for other programs.
The question is how are we funding this the work that's going on on Obamacare right now?
Well, that's just it.
It's it's uh it comes down to this non-essential stuff.
It's not really a shutdown, is the point.
There were seven or eight of them like this during the Reagan administration.
These things are common.
They're normal tools that are used by both parties in uh in negotiations back and forth.
It's not really an uncommon thing.
This is this is not a full-fledged government shutdown.
By the way, I don't know if you heard this or not, folks.
You may have by now.
Mount Vernon, which is the home of George Washington, is privately owned.
The federal government tried to shut it down by barricading the parking lots.
The parking lots, however, are not under federal purview because it is free parking at Mount Vernon.
The only relationship the feds have to Mount Vernon is the roadways leading to it.
So they tried to blockade the parking lots.
And they can't, because Mount Vernon is privately owned.
It's not owned by the federal government.
The land is not owned by the federal government, Mount Vernon itself is not a national monument, it's not a national park or any of that, and yet they tried to shut it down.
Now, the reason that that's important is because, and it's based on Bob's question here, Obama is choosing certain things to shut down, like the Grand Canyon, like the Normandy Cemetery, the American Cemetery at Normandy in France, like the World War II memorial.
These are things Obama himself or people very close to him are deciding to shut down for maximum impact because they believe that the Republicans are going to get blamed.
Obamacare is uh mandatory spending, so they can't shut that down, just like they can't stop sending out Social Security checks.
It's mandatory and so forth.
Now, when you get to the debt limit, which Obama says does not mean new debt, that's when even mandatory spending is affected, because you the government has to borrow to spend it.
We don't have it.
They have to borrow it.
And if the debt limit isn't raised, and we've reached it, then they can't legally borrow anything.
Therefore, there isn't any money to pay for those checks.
And Obama's already thrown that card out using the well known time and tested politics of fear.
Here's Nancy, Salt Lake City.
Hi, Nancy.
Great to have you on the program.
Hi.
Hello, nice to speak with you.
Thank you for your time.
I'll get right to the point because I know you're busy.
Okay, I'm a single.
I want to tie in your very first story in the first hour and your story that in your second hour about uh the Medicaid.
I'm a single mom.
I make five thousand dollars a year.
Um I qualify for Medicaid, but my spend bound premium uh for a month is four hundred and sixty dollars a month.
I am not eligible for any uh tax credit subsidy because my income is below a hundred percent of the federal poverty level.
And so which is ninety-nine percent of my household income.
How it's this is a mess.
It's a chocolate mess.
And wait a minute, you make five thousand dollars a year?
Yes, I'm a student and I make five thousand dollars a year and trying to get out of the toilet.
Oh, okay, okay, student, student.
Um you don't qualify.
You're you you make too little to to qualify for poverty.
Um I make I do qualify.
I am a hundred percent below the federal poverty level, but I still with Medicaid, for me to have Medicaid, I have to pay the state of Utah four hundred and sixty dollars.
Well, how did this clown in Connecticut get onto Obamacare and he's not having to pay anything?
Exactly.
And he doesn't even have a child that he has to raise.
Well, not that we know.
Exactly, that's true too.
But still, I'm still getting trying to be the future pay in, you know.
But anyway, so and I have I'm not available for any tax credit subsidies that they claim that the poor people get to help them.
This is incredible.
So people at or below 100% of the poverty line cannot get Obamacare subsidies.
Correct.
You are correct.
I have it right here in black and white.
I do not qualify for any of the subsidy.
But yet they want 99% of my household.
Well, you know, I could be really insensitive and say, Welcome to my world.
Yeah.
Well, I wouldn't do that.
But that's okay.
I'm not doing that, Don.
Don't shake your head.
I'm just, I wasn't doing that.
I told her I could, but I wouldn't.
I'm not doing that.
I just want you to know I don't get subsidies either.
Yeah.
But I tell you that doesn't that that's just um I blows your way, doesn't it?
How this Obamacare is supposed to help the poor.
I know.
I blah blah blah.
I did not know that you could be too poor to qualify for Obama care.
That's what it you're supposed to get Medicaid, but you're not but you have to pay 460 bucks a month, did you say for Medicaid?
Correct.
That doesn't sound like makes any sense.
Anyway, I've got to run.
I'm out of time.
I'm very sorry, Nancy, but um that we'll have to look into.
Don't go away, folks.
Be right back.
I'll tell I I don't understand having to pay four hundred dollars a month for Medicaid.
I've never heard of that before.
I'm not challenging what she said.
I just haven't heard about it.
Apparently there were some shots fired from a car in this uh capital shooting thing.
