Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24 7 podcast.
Okay, so what happens is, and Obama says it was last Tuesday that the employer mandate is gone for a year.
But then on Friday there was another announcement.
You know what that announcement was?
That since the employer mandate has gone nominos, essentially anybody can show up at an exchange and say, I qualify.
It's the honor system.
And all that happened, and I had people over the weekend, boy, it's really great Obamacare falling apart.
It's not falling apart, folks.
Greetings.
Great to have you here.
Ill Rush Ball at 800-282-2882.
It's not falling apart.
Obamacare whatever Obama wants it to be from day to day, from hour to hour.
Let me tell you something.
I'm going to cut to the chase real quick on this.
And then I'm going to spend some time later on because I have we're loaded here today, but I want to I want to get make sure you understand this right off the bat.
The fact that the personal mandate stands.
You still have to have insurance or pay the fine, dude.
There is no out of that.
The boss doesn't have to cover you next year or this year, or what the boss is totally out of, but you still have to be covered.
Now, one of the reasons for the employer mandate, and I don't think this is ever going to work because I don't think they've got the computer system that can handle it.
But on paper, the employer mandate, in addition to being an employer mandate, was also a way that they could tell who's covered and who isn't.
So that if somebody walked into an exchange and tried to get insurance and already had it at work, they'd be sorry, you don't get it here because you already got it and turned away.
There was to be a record of who was covered by virtue of having the benefit at work and who wasn't.
Well, that's gone.
There's no way to verify who has insurance now.
So on Friday, the regime said you can walk into an exchange and simply say you're eligible, and they have to take you.
Right, that's the key.
Subsidy to get a subsidized insurance policy.
I mean your neighbor pays for it or pays for a portion of it.
All you have to do to get a subsidized health insurance policy is to walk into a state exchange and say, I'm here, and I'm eligible.
Well, it's yeah, it's the honor system.
Now why?
Why?
Obama knows that this thing is imploding.
Obama knows that it cannot be properly administered, but he doesn't care.
What the regime wants is for as many people that's one of the reasons they are advertising.
Two reasons they're advertising this thing, folks.
Sorry to interrupt myself, but I've not lost my train of thought.
Just stick with me here.
As you know, they're advertising Obama's running around doing campaigns for Obamacare, partially, that's a 2014 um uh midterm elections because they know that they lost big in the 2010 midterms because of Obamacare.
So trying to do some some uh some fixing on the brand and have it hopefully from their standpoint not be as big and negative 2014 midterms, but they're also trying to hustle business.
Because Obama knows that the more people who actually go to an exchange and have a policy subsidized, provided by whatever the government, the harder it's gonna be to ever repeal this thing.
That's what this is really all about.
When you strip it all away, when you get down to the basic essentials here, the reason the employer mandate is gone is not because they well, they can't implement it.
I mean, the business is the it is an election 2014 concern, but there's always something unstated, folks.
There's always a reason they don't tell you.
The more people who enroll for Obamacare, the harder it's gonna be to take it away from them.
Think of any other federal entitlement.
And ask yourself when was one repealed.
There has been one.
I can't think of it right now.
But it didn't last long.
But they don't get repealed.
Can you imagine trying to repeal Social Security, for example?
It never happened.
Or Medicare or Medicaid.
You can't, you can't imagine it, right?
Well, there's still a chance to repeal Obamacare because it's a disaster.
It is an implosion, it's a train wreck, it is.
I mean, there are people searching the thesaurus, trying to come up with the most unique way of describing the disaster this thing is.
And really what it's boiled down to now is Obama is going to make it whatever he wants.
Like George Will said on TV Sunday, he said, what?
What Obamacare needs to succeed is irrationality.
People must behave irrationally for this thing to work.
Meaning, for example, let's look at the requirement that a business is subject to Obamacare with 50 employees.
And convert most of them to part-time, and a business is exempt.
A business would be irrational not to do that.
If a business has two options, qualify and pay through the nose and lose your profit, or change policy to escape the mandates of the coverage and the policy and the law, what are you going to do?
You're going to do whatever you can to escape the requirements of the law.
And that's what businesses are doing.
They're converting people from part-time to full-time.
We've got more part-time workers than ever in this country.
That's because of Obamacare.
We have fewer full-time workers, fewer people working in careers than we've ever had in this country because of Obamacare and because of the economy in general.
And it's because businesses say, hey, I can I can get out.
This is before the mandate was canceled.
I can get out of having to pay all this money for a health care benefit by simply shrinking my workforce.
That's rational.
The irrational behavior of the business would be to sit there and take the hit.
And that's what George Will meant.
People have to behave irrationally everywhere, up and down the line, in order for this thing to work.
But where we are now is even if the law, and by the way, this is up for grabs.
People, there's two schools of thought on whether or not Obama even has the constitutional or statutory authority to delay the employer mandate.
That's how confusing this is.
Oh, yeah, yeah, Obama, he can cancel that mandate for a year.
Other people say, no, he can't just arbitrarily do it without Congress agreeing.
It doesn't matter.
He did it, and nobody's stopping him.
So Obamacare is whatever he wants it to be from day to day, hour to hour.
It is an absolute train wreck.
It isn't going to work.
And that's the whole point.
All its purpose is to grow government.
To siphon one sixth of the economy out of the private sector and to the government.
And again, the bare essential, the necessity that when you strip it all away, the reason for what happened last week is to get as many people enrolled in Obamacare as possible, making it harder and harder to repeal it, because repealing it would mean taking away their insurance.
And that's why Obama's out there selling this thing like it's a campaign issue.
That and the 2014 midterms.
They need enrollees.
And since the employer mandate's been canceled and delayed for other political considerations for Obama, the push is being made to force people in and to get them into these exchanges.
Because look, people panic when they think they're going to be without health insurance.
They panic.
It's like it's almost worse than being without food.
I don't know what it is.
But you tell people they're going to not be able to go to the doctor for a month.
You've got Panic City.
There's something about health care psychologically that has developed in this country with, of course, by design, the Democrat Party and the media.
But people don't think they can go a day without it.
They're abject panic sets in.
So the employer now doesn't have to provide you a health benefit.
And most employees are going to say, you know what?
I don't want this expense.
There are other places my employees can go.
The only employees are going to have this health benefit are the ones the boss doesn't think he can do without.
So you better go about making yourself indispensable at work.
Because if you're not, your benefits likely going to go, and you're going to have to go somewhere else to get coverage.
And then you're going to panic.
And you're going to go to the first place you can, and that's going to be an exchange.
And that's what they want.
Because once millions and millions and millions of Americans are covered by the government, there's no way you're going to pull out away from them.
There's no way.
So I had to laugh at all these people say, well, I guess that's the end of Obamacare.
Rush one of the Republicans just say to repeal the whole thing.
Well, they should, by the way.
But what happened last week does not mean the end of Obamacare.
It just means Obama recognized it was in trouble and has taken steps to ensure it'll never be taken away.
No matter how bad it is.
Now we've got Egypt out there.
And this plane crash in San Francisco.
It's amazing to me.
Do you know what happened in Chicago over the weekend?
72 people.
72 people were shot in Chicago over the 4th of July weekend.
12 men were killed, 60 other people wounded, and you haven't heard about it.
Two people died in a plane crash in San Francisco.
What day was it?
Yesterday?
Two days Saturday, wasn't it?
And that's all you hear.
Even today, that plane crash, they always are.
Plane crashes are always the top of the no matter.
Did you see, by the way?
I know that's the point.
Millions, not millions, 72 people dying in a four-day period, Chicago.
Big deal.
Not news.
Not covered.
No panic.
No my no, no, my God, can you believe what happened at Chicago?
But no.
My God, Mabel, did you see what happened in San Francisco?
Now the pilot, that's the first crash of a Boeing 777.
The pilot that crashed that airplane Saturday had very little experience flying the airplane, and most of it had been in a simulator.
Well, in all fairness, that's how most pilots learn.
You can't, it'd be too expensive to have these guys actual education on these airplanes be constantly flying hours.
That's why they've developed simulators which are so damn good.
Now, this guy, this pilot had probably landed at SFO and a simulator, I don't know how many times.
He probably got his qualification for the 777 on the simulator.
The odds are that a pilot's first time in a cockpit on your flight, you'd be surprised how often it happens.
Because the training and the certification happens in a simulator.
But this guy had never, this pilot, very little experience flying the airplane.
It had been most of its simulator.
He had never landed a 777 at San Francisco Airport.
I don't know if he sat in number two seat.
I don't know if he Was a co-pilot on a flight to San Francisco.
I don't know that.
I do know that he had never landed there himself in a number one seat.
So you could say it was on-the-job training.
And when I heard about this, it sounded like exactly what the whole country went through 2008.
The guy flying the plane had never done it before, had no clue.
It still doesn't.
Folks, I wasn't making it up.
I checked the email during the break.
Rush, come on, you just can't walk into an exchange and say I'm here.
Give me a subsidized.
Yes, you can.
In fact, in fact, folks, there are two parts to this.
There is no verification of whether or not you have insurance.
Because the employer mandates gone.
The reporting system will not be in place.
There's no way for anybody and exchange to prove that you're lying.
You can walk in and say, you're poor.
You're this or that.
You don't have coverage.
And they're going to accept you.
They've got no way.
Don't say NSA to me.
I don't even want to go there.
They don't have any way within no mechanisms provided by Obamacare to determine the veracity of what you say.
But the second part is there's no verification of income on the application for a subsidy on Obamacare coverage.
So on your tax form, this is where you're going to be assessed a fine if you don't have coverage.
Well, there's no verification going to be required of whether you have insurance or not on your tax return.
And there's no verification required of income on your application for a subsidy on Obamacare coverage.
Like H.R. whispered into my ear during the monologue, it's all the honor system.
By design.
By design.
It's like the old days of getting a mortgage.
We'd have to be able to pay it off, and they gave you one.
It's the same thing, folks.
It is the same exact thing.
There's no verification possible.
There is no record.
I mean, if you are brazen, you can lie and say you have insurance coverage and avoid paying the penalty for not having health insurance, and then don't get any at all.
You can go in and lie and say you've got insurance when you don't.
That way you don't have to pay the fine.
So you don't pay the fine, you don't buy the policy, you don't have anything if you want to do that.
That would be really shafting the regime because what the regime wants is as many people as possible signing up.
The more people, again, the more people that sign up, the harder it's going to ever be to repeal this thing, to take that away from them.
The um the thing I was thinking about with the uh entitlement taken away, Dan Rosty Rostankowski, remember it was a Medicare thing.
They made seniors pay like an additional 10 cents a year.
And they ganged up on Rusty Rostinkowski's car in Chicago.
He was a chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.
Rothy, as he was known on the McLachlan group, Rufty.
And it really wasn't much.
I mean, it was a little bit more than 10 cents a year, but the seniors were going to start paying a little bit for their Medicare and all hell broke loose.
And they canceled it.
They did it was during the Reagan years.
I think.
I have a we're talking about gang influence in sports recently.
I have an AP story here from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Yeah.
Now, but That's Snerdley knows that I'm I'm looking at the clock.
I've only got less than a minute, and I don't have time to give this the treatment I want to give it.
So let me set it up.
It isn't that long a story.
This story, which I will read to you when we come back from the upcoming bottom of the hour obscene profit break, is written as though it happens every day.
There's no incredulity in the story.
There's no wow.
There's no nothing.
It's just three paragraphs, and we move on to the next story.
As though it's common.
The story involves a referee being killed and decapitated, and that's not even half of it.
So you sit tight, we've got that.
We've got a funny call on C SPAN today about me.
We got all kinds of stuff here, folks.
We're just barely getting started here.
We're back.
El Rushbone cutting edge.
Societal Evolution.
The headline of this story in the AP from Sao Polo Brazil.
Fans kill and quarter football referee in Brazil.
Police say enraged spectators invaded a football soccer, stoned the referee to death, and quartered his body after he stabbed player to death.
Did I not warn you people about soccer?
Way back during the Keep Our Own Kids Safe campaign.
Did I not?
The public safety department of the state of Moranho says in a statement that it all started when referee Octavio da Silva expelled player Jose Nir Abreu from a game last weekend.
So the ref kicked a guy of the game.
The ref and the guy got into a fist fight.
Then the ref took out a knife and stabbed the player.
The player died on his way to the hospital.
The statement issued this week says that the player's friends and relatives immediately rushed onto the field, stoned the referee to death, and quartered his body.
You've heard the phrase drawn and quartered.
You know, a lot of people don't know what that actually means.
Drawn and quartered.
It was depicted in Braveheart, by the way.
But this is not drawn in quartered, this is just quartered, and it's exactly what it sounds like.
They cut the guy's body up into four parts on the field after stoning the guy.
Local news media say the spectators also decapitated the ref and stuck his head on a stake in the middle of the field.
This usually happens on TV in a show like Game of Thrones.
But here it happened on a soccer field in Brazil, and it's just an average, ordinary nothing to see here news story in the AP news roster.
No, they did not give the score of the game.
We don't know who won the game.
The score's not in the game in the story.
We don't know who the home team was.
We don't know what the pregame meal was.
We don't know anything.
We all we know is that the referee kicked a player out of the game, then the two got into a fist fight when the ref took out a knife and stabbed the player.
I've always thought that it would be a player that would pull a knife and stab another player.
I never thought that the ref would do it, but it makes sense.
Tell me.
So if you are in Sao Paulo and you read this story, what do you get out of it?
There's an opening for a job.
There's a referee job open in this soccer league.
That's what you take away.
Bring a gun, not a knife.
It'll be on the lookout for knives.
This is the time to sneak a gun in as a as a referee.
You know, one of those little ankle pistols.
Really, I read this story, and it folks, it's just it's as ho hum as as uh whatever the latest unemployment news is in this country.
Let's go to the audio sound bites.
We've got to go back.
I don't know how this happened.
C SPAN took a call today on their Washington Journal from a guy in New York upset about something I said three years ago.
Let's go back.
It's almost exactly three years ago, June 16th, 2010.
Now, at the time, folks, there was panic in the drive-by media over what kids were going to do to eat since the schools were closing for the summer, and school breakfast was a big deal, and school lunch was a big deal, and the media was worrying, well, where will the kids of America go to eat?
And uh and I, always interested in public service, decided to offer some solutions.
One of the benefits of school being out, and in addition to your kids losing weight because they're starving to death out there because there's no school meal being provided.
One of the benefits of school being out, college camp eye being vacant this time of year, is that our audience levels go up.
And I think you know what we're gonna do here, we're gonna start a feature on this program where to find food for young demographics.
Where to find food now that school is out, where to find food, we can have a daily feature on this.
And this will take us all the way through the summer.
Where to find food.
And of course, the first will be try your house.
It's a thing called the refrigerator.
You probably already know about it.
Try looking there.
There are also things in what's called the kitchen of your house, called cupboards.
And in those cupboards, most likely, you're gonna find ding dongs, twinkies, lay's ridgey potato chips, all kinds of dip, and maybe a can of corn that you don't want.
But it will be there.
If that doesn't work, try a happy meal at McDonald's.
You know where McDonald's is.
There's the dollar menu at McDonald's, and if they don't have chicken McNuggets, dial 911 and ask for Obama.
There's another place if none of these options work to find food, there's always the neighborhood dumpster.
Now you might find competition with homeless people there, but there are videos that have been produced to show you how to healthfully dine and how to dumpster dive and survive until school kicks back up in August.
So there you have it.
Three years ago here on this program, public service trying to detect or inform the kids of America where to go find food, since there wasn't any at school.
Well, I don't know.
I don't know why or how, but on C-SPAN today, Washington Journal, during a viewer call-in, some guy, George from New York, called in to talk about what you just heard.
If you can't feed your children, first thing they should do is go 'em and see if there's something in the refrigerator.
It's not up to the schools to feed them.
Their parents should be feeding them.
And if they can't feed them, then they can try a dumpster dive.
Now we have millions of people listening to that, and they believe that this is what you should do.
If a child is hungry, they should go to a dumpster and find their food.
I mean, this is what we've come to talk about.
And when we can give these huge, huge tax breaks to oil companies and all these an agriculture big ag and I'm not knocking the small farmer, but the big ag and our money flies in so many other directions.
Well, when it comes time to feed the children, they should have to eat out of a dumpster.
This is what we've come to.
And that, folks, is quintessential low information voter.
This guy has been holding on to this for three years.
He'd been calling C SPAN for three years to comment on this.
He finally got through today.
George from New York.
This is it.
This is low information.
Obviously a liberal low information voter.
And no, this guy was even upset.
It was unempathetic for me to suggest the refrigerator.
He mentioned that first.
First thing they should do is go home and see if there's something in the fridge.
It's not up to the schools to feed them.
He was outraged by that.
The fact that I would say that means I don't have any empathy, which means I can't put myself in these kids' place.
And then to suggest they go dumpster it.
Folks, we have played on my TV show excerpts of the dumpster dining video.
There was one, and it was put out by a homeless guy in California.
And it was all about how to dumpster dive and get food out of there that's not going to kill you.
Or make you Yeah, it's true, Rachel.
It's true, right?
I don't make up anything here.
Not necessary.
So anyway, I thought for three years this guy has been waiting, trying to get through to C-SPAN.
From NBC Sports in response to the criticisms arising from the Aaron Hernandez.
Oh, speaking of that, did you see the New England Patriots have offered free trade-ins for anyone with an Aaron Hernandez jersey?
I think he's number 81.
Maybe that's Gronkowski.
I'm not sure.
Doesn't matter.
The New England Patriots have offered free trade-in for anybody with an Aaron Hernandez jersey, and apparently a lot of people took the Patriots up on that deal.
I wonder.
I wonder if Obama is thinking about doing that with all the Mohammed Morsi jerseys.
This guy didn't last long, and he was Obama's chosen guy.
Speaking of which, Brett Baer, who hosts 6 o'clock with Brett Baer on the Fox News Channel.
I forget the special report.
He's got a new blog, I think.
It's new to me.
He's got a blog, and he posted a note that he got from a friend of his in Alexandria, Egypt, who explained in American terms, using an American analogy, just what exactly happened in Egypt.
Not just last week, but the past year.
And it is great.
You know, most of the news coming out of Egypt is not coming from the mainstream media.
It's coming from average ordinary Egyptians using social media.
That goes to who's a journalist and who isn't.
In Tariri Square, there are even signs.
They're making fun of CNN in Tariri Square.
I've got it here somewhere.
Yeah, CNN, shame on you.
CNN, shame on you.
These signs are being held up by people starting last Wednesday.
To CNN, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Your coverage of the revolution was totally biased in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood, just like your government.
Exactly right.
We just last uh last Wednesday played my one of my all-time favorite series of sound bites from old buddy Nick Robertson at CNN.
Three years ago, Tariri Square asking all these protesters what their message for Obama would be.
Obama wanted Morsi in there.
Obama supported the Brotherhood.
Obama will not abandon the Brotherhood now.
Anyway, let me take a break.
And I will sh nah, forgot the NFL story.
We'll get to that.
Look, we got lots of stuff.
You just sit tight, folks.
We can't do it all three hours.
We can't do it all in 30 minutes.
But we got a lot of it in a three hours, and we will today too.
Sit tight.
Be right back.
Anyway, F. Chuck Todd said yesterday on uh Meet the Depressed.
F. Chuck Todd, one of political directors uh reporters at NBC, he said the White House does not see a path to passing an immigration bill by the end of the year.
Uh F. Chuck Todd said the uh the White House, they'd been so confident that they were going to sign immigration reform this year.
For the first time, I'm hearing, this is F. Chuck talking, I'm hearing that there is some doubt seeping in, that they think maybe the House will not act.
What they need is they need something to sort of force Boehner, like at the last minute to bring it to the floor the same way the fiscal cliff deal happened.
Now, folks, Obamacare is falling apart, and these people knew it.
People like Chuck Todd knew and chose to ignore.
They knew what Obamacare was, they knew how unworkable it was, they knew what a disaster it was.
They had every opportunity to report before it was voted on what they're saying about it now.
They didn't.
Everything they did was oriented towards the Obama agenda being advanced.
They're doing the same thing with immigration.
These people know that this is a disaster.
They know that it is an absolute train wreck for this country, and yet all they can do is write stories on what Obama needs to do to make it happen.
Whether it's good for the country or not is not even a concern of theirs.
Anyway, here's this Egypt thing.
This is a breadbear's blog, and I ran across it.
And I'm just gonna in a nutshell is what it's called, and this is written by a person in Egypt.
A lot of my dear American friends still ask me what on earth really happened in Egypt.
And for their benefit and anybody else on earth genuinely trying to make heads or tails of us crazy Egyptians, here is exactly what happened in Egypt over the past year, but expressed in American terms.
So instead of Morsi, he's gonna talk about Obama.
That's what he means expressed in American terms.
There are no exaggerations, there are no lies, and every event that follows took place.
On June 30th, 2012, Democratically elected Barack Obama wins the election with 51.7%, takes the oath, and is sworn in as president.
Again, he's writing, if what happened in Egypt had happened here, this is what it would have been.
The first five months of Obama's term go relatively smoothly where he makes almost no decisions except for some dubious presidential pardons to a dozen convicted terrorists, including some convicted for their part in the assassination of a former president.
Suddenly, though, on November 21st, 2012, President Obama issues a presidential decree, giving himself sweeping powers to the extent that his future decrees become uncontestable by any court.
In effect, his decisions henceforth are akin to the word of God.
His laws are a new Bible.
Nationwide protests erupt as a result of this decree.
One and a half million people organize a sit-in at the White House to peacefully request that Obama rescind it.
Some of Obama's Democratic Party supporters attack the peaceful sit-in outside the White House with guns and shoot five peaceful protesters dead.
A few weeks later, President Obama dissolves the U.S. Supreme Court and labels them traitors to America.
One week later, he fires the U.S. District Attorney, Attorney General, and personally appoints a Democrat to replace him.
A month later, he annuls the Constitution.
He forms a constitutional committee to draft a new one.
The committee includes no Republicans, no independents, no Muslims, no Jews, and only a handful of women or women, it's mostly Democrats and religious preachers.
In a referendum not supervised by any judicial branch, this constitution narrowly wins, and President Obama ratifies it the very next morning, despite it having only gotten the approval of 18% of all Americans.
Within a month, he invites top global terrorists, jihadists and Al-Qaeda members from all over the world who are rallying in Yankee Stadium, where he cuts ties with and declares war on Canada.
Throughout his whole time, the U.S. economy is sinking, the stock market collapsing, foreign investments all but stopped, tourism's died, electricity, fuel, water shortages are a daily occurrence.
Unemployment's almost doubled, blah, blah, blah.
It goes on and on.
I should have started this a little earlier because there's some left.
But this is an attempt to explain in a way you and I can understand it what actually happened in Egypt the last twelve months.
I'll continue with this, but I have to take a time out here.
Folks, I'm sorry.
I didn't give myself enough time to go through this um Egyptian explanation of what's going on or what did happen there.
Going through it too fast.
It was my bad.
And uh we'll we'll start again and we'll do it and give it the proper time it needs.
And we'll get to your phone calls.
If you're on hold, stay there.
We'll be back.
