Time Text
I can't believe what I just heard.
We're sitting here having a conversation between us amongst ourselves about Obama, Michelle Obama being protested by the lesbian babe at the DNC fundraiser at the Fat Cat's house that was like 10 to 30 grand to get into the damn thing.
And Snerdley is saying to me, man, I gotta tell you, in that family, it's Michelle's got the onions.
I said, what are you talking about?
I can't.
Here's the story of this protest is here.
You've got this lesbian.
Obama promised them in 2008 that he was going to have an executive order on gay rights, whatever it is they want.
He promised them.
Well, it's 2013 and there's nothing.
So here's a fundraiser and the lesbian babe shows up there, whether she paid or not, and she wants to ask Mrs. Obama when the hell it's happening.
And what does Ms. Obama do?
You!
Either you shut the hell up or I'm out of here.
Onions, that's not onions.
Let me tell you what this is.
These people, folks, I'm dead serious, but these liberals, they have made everybody think that they're open to everybody's ideas and they're touchy and feely and they're concerned.
They share your concerns and they're very interested in your problems and they want to see they help you.
And then the minute you show up and you try to make them keep a promise, it's get the hell out of my face.
Time.
What do you mean, onions?
Onions, it's called rude.
Michelle Obama shows up expecting to be idolized for 20 minutes while she makes a speech, but something happens and it isn't on the prompt her, so she doesn't know what to do.
So this woman who believed what the Obamas told her, that there could be something done on gay rights, it hasn't happened.
She shows up and wants to know when.
Who do you think you are asking me that?
Don't you know who I am?
I am Mucho Mybel Obama.
And you're here to listen to me.
You're here to be dazzled by me.
You're here to be impressed by me.
You're here to wish you were me.
And you dare to ask me, you either shut up or I'm out of here.
And that's who they are.
Now, Snerdley said, well, I thought that whole room erupted in applause for Michelle.
Well, most of it did, but there was some sympathy for the lesbian protester in there.
It wasn't a unanimous reaction to kick the lesbian protester out.
But the lesbian protester proves my point.
She had no idea what happened.
She believes, like they all do, that the Obamas really care about them and their problems.
This woman probably watched the Julia video, saw herself in it, and thinks the Obamas really care about her life.
What they care about is that she might have had 10 to 30 grand to get in there, and she has a pair of ears to listen, and that's it.
And if you do anything else, you become an asterisk to the state.
And the IRS might be looking into you.
And so the lesbian protester gets ushered out of there and literally doesn't know what I thought she would want to talk to me.
I thought she'd be interested in what I have to say.
Now, if this lesbian protester had spent 10 minutes listening to this program in the past five years, she would have known what was going to happen.
Anyway, so I'm not sighing out of frustration.
I'm sorry for the jet lag folks.
I mean, it's, you know, when I travel for like here to Hawaii and come back, there's no jet lag when I go west.
But we went east this time.
And that was tough, both arriving there and then getting back here.
So I'm just, I'm not sure what day it is or what time it is.
All I know is it's noon to three Eastern is showtime.
Try this headline, the AP U.S. hasn't seen expected great recovery.
Really?
It's an AP story.
Nothing gets past these people, I'll tell you.
Economic forecast says that the country's expected great recovery, capital G, capital R, hasn't materialized.
And the economy's fallen short of even normal growth.
LA Times reports the gloomy picture appears in the quarterly UCLA Anderson forecast released today.
It says that real gross domestic product, GP growth, the inflation-adjusted value of goods and services, blah, blah, blah, well below the 3% growth trend of past recoveries.
The forecast says the country isn't creating enough good jobs.
No sh.
I read stuff like this.
I said, where are these people?
What have they been looking at?
There isn't a recovery, great or otherwise.
We're still in a recession.
Look at the number of people on disability, now over 10 million, the people not working, still eating.
Look at the number of people on Medicaid.
Do you know people in Medicaid in this country is larger than the population of UK and France combined?
It's larger than the population of the UK and something.
I forget which combined.
The number of people on Medicaid is larger than two European countries combined, I think.
Close.
While I was gone, the Pew Center, the Pew Research Center, released a study that revealed that mothers are the sole or primary provider of income in a record 40% of all households with children under the age of 18 in the United States.
In other words, women have become the primary breadwinners in 40% of U.S. households.
Analyzing data from the Census Bureau for 2011, the report investigated changing gender roles, cases where married women out-earn their husbands.
I should say spouses now.
It's not husbands anymore.
And the income of single mothers.
The income gap between married and single mothers is quite large as expected, but both groups of breadwinner mothers, married and single, have grown in size in the past five decades.
And I guess there was, I guess some people went on Fox, like, who was it?
Lou Dobbs and Juan Williams and Eric Erickson went on TV, said, yep, yep.
And that's exactly why the U.S. culture is in a deteriorating position.
Because women weren't meant to be breadwinners.
They were meant to be – I'm – I'm – what's the – what am I done?
Middle block here.
I'm paraphrasing what they said.
And apparently there was a lot of, how dare they say that, kind of reaction out there to that notion.
Because the conventional wisdom is that breadwinner mothers, that's ideal because we can show our young women all the wonderful aspects of feminism that way.
They don't have to depend on the relationship.
I don't have to depend on a man to be happy or economically okay.
It can show your daughters that it's perfectly fine to get out there and seek careers and this kind of thing.
In fact, it was interpreted as a marvelous sign of progress, that women are the primary breadwinners in 40% of U.S. households.
Now, the problem with this, who took it on the chin in this?
I mean, for this to be good news for somebody, it has to be bad news for somebody, right?
So for whom is this bad news?
Men?
Let me ask you, Snerdley says, men, let me ask you a question.
Seriously now.
If we've gotten to the point where you now have a legitimate choice to stay home and eat bonbons, maybe mow the yard here and there, otherwise eat bonbons and puts around on your computer while Mrs. Snerdley is out doing the grind and earning, aren't you cool with that?
You're not cool with that?
Never?
Well, what about single parents, single mothers?
Where do they rank in this?
Because they are the real chosen ones in the American left's dissection of culture.
Single mothers are the real heroes, not married.
Well, that's right.
They're saints because they're the biggest source of poverty, which is what Democrats need, people in poverty.
A permanent underground.
Okay, now people are going to go nuts.
Here's Obama at the White House.
Naturally, in this show, there's Obama with Donna Little Susan Rice, who's glaringly incompetent.
I mean, glaringly so, being promoted now, and this is in our face.
That's all this is about, folks.
And there's Samantha Power to the Mrs. Cass Sunstein there to Obama's right.
Climate, global warming.
I was, I'm not going to tell you where we were in many places on our trip.
One of the places we were was in Europe.
And I was looking at the foreign press while in Europe.
And, you know, they're big on this whole global warming.
Everybody drives these tiny little smart cars and putt-putts and so forth because the roads are very small.
Anyway, picked up on something that gives me a clue where the global warming activists are headed next.
In Europe, they are saying that the reality that there hasn't been any warming in 15 years has given us a second chance to get it right.
So rather than accept at face value what it means, that their models were wrong, there hasn't been any global warming, there isn't any global warming, there isn't any man-made climate change, what instead they're sticking with is, of course, there's man-made global warming, of course, there's climate change.
Something unexplained has happened in the last 15 years that's resulted in the temperature staying the same, and that's a godsend.
It gives us a second chance to get it right.
And they're going to make another full-speed ahead push for more environmental legislation, carbon tax kind of proposals.
They've decided politically this is the way to go.
They've been given a second chance.
Keep a sharp eye, folks.
Look for it.
Maybe, I don't know if it's already surfaced in this country yet.
If it hasn't, it will.
The Algores of the world and whoever else, environmentalist wacko groups talking about this 15-year weird period where it didn't get any warmer when it was supposed to because our models said so.
Second chance.
Second chance to stave off the disaster we thought would already have befallen us.
Back to the phones, folks, as I try to squeeze an impossible amount of data into these three short hours each day.
Jennifer in Floyd, Iowa, I'm glad that you called.
Great to have you here.
Rush, welcome back.
We missed you so much.
Thank you.
Did you really?
Are you just saying that?
Oh, no, we missed you.
It just wasn't the same.
I mean, your guest hosts are great, but it's just not the same when you're gone.
Well, aren't you sweet?
That's very, I mean, I appreciate that.
The guest hosts are great, and they're very nice guys, and they're extremely competent, or they wouldn't be here.
My four-year-old daughter, Brooklyn, and I, we listen to you just about every day, and she said to tell you hi from her.
So, well, you tell her that it was, I hope it wasn't serious break of the leg.
Oh, no, her name's Brooklyn, and she just told me to say hi.
Oh, she didn't break her leg.
No, no, she said to say hi.
But, yep, and Brooklyn, I thought, broke her leg.
Sorry.
Her name is Brooklyn.
I thought she broke her leg in Brooklyn, and I was wondering why, because you're in Iowa.
Oh, nope.
Her name is Brooklyn.
So she just, she listens to you with me about every day.
Yep.
And she's all excited because I'm on the phone with you right now.
Well, put her on.
Put her on.
Okay.
You want to talk to Rush?
Put her on.
Hello, Rush.
Hey, Brooklyn, how are you?
Hey.
You're okay?
Well, good.
Well, your mommy tells me that you like listening to this program, and I just wanted to thank you.
I think that's great.
Okay.
Well, you have a good day, Brooklyn, and thanks for the conversation, okay?
Bye-bye.
Bye.
She's happy to say hi and happy to get by.
Yes.
Thanks so much for doing that.
That meant the world to her.
Well, look, you're very, very kind.
I thank you for what you said.
I really appreciate it.
Jennifer, thanks much.
Davenport, Iowa.
Rick, you're next.
Great to have you on the program.
Hello.
Well, thank you, Rush.
And I want to say it's an honor to talk to you.
I ended up taking a challenge from my brother to listen to you at the beginning of the year because, and unfortunately, yes, I did vote for the guy in power right now.
And I am very disheartened on where the country's going.
And listening to you at the beginning of the year, I guess, really opened my eyes.
And I just want to say, keep up the fight.
It's a good fight, I guess.
And you are getting to people.
You certainly might not think so, but you are.
Now, this is interesting.
You voted for Obama twice, and you said your brother was urging you to vote by the ways.
Correct.
And he was on me.
And Rush, I don't know.
I guess it's just that brotherly conflict.
I don't know.
I love the kid, but it's.
But you're getting an eye-opening to.
What I'm interested in is this.
If you didn't listen to me, you probably, I'm guessing, now tell me if I'm wrong, you probably believed all of the stuff in the media that, well, whatever it is about me that's negative.
And that's correct.
You said that it's so correct.
But you just started listing the first of this year, like six months ago.
Is that right?
Correct.
Correct.
So you have gone.
This is interesting to me.
It's actually uplifting.
You've gone from six months ago thinking that I was just maybe one of the worst reprobates on the planet to telling me to keep up the good fight.
That is an amazing transformation you've gone through.
Yes, it is.
And it's not the image that I had.
It's the image that was portrayed of you.
Not the image I had of you.
The image that the media has of you.
Oh, yeah.
That's what I meant.
It's okay.
All right.
Yeah, I just, because after listening to you, everything that you're saying is what I totally believe in, understand how somebody can't take responsibility for their actions, not knowing what's going on in their own business, company, government.
You know, you're giving me hope.
You're giving me, because at least in your case, here's somebody that you understand now the Limbaugh theorem.
You know exactly what I'm talking about, and it found a home with you because you're doing the right thing.
I mean, here's this guy.
He's president.
He's the number one executive.
He's in charge of everything, and yet he didn't know.
And it's a surprise to him.
And he's against it too.
And he's mad about it.
And he's trying to stop it.
And he's not fooling you.
And that gives a lot of us hope that maybe because I'll tell you, the low information voters are carrying the day here.
By low information, we don't mean stupid.
We just mean uninformed, maybe ignorant, just in the literal sense of not knowing what's going on while thinking they do.
But there's going to have to be some pushback at some point.
And if not against Obama, at least against Democrats and the kinds of things that he believes and the people that he puts in power.
So anyway, thank you guys.
I appreciate the call, Rick.
Back we are.
Rush Limbaugh.
Half my brain tied behind my back just to make it fair.
You know, Snerdley, I'm getting emails from people who want me to be serious about my prediction for the developers conference next Monday at Apple.
And what I, well, they think I was toilet.
They want me to seriously tell people what I think is in store for Apple in the future.
Maybe I will.
I don't know.
I get the impression I start talking about Apple people.
Yeah, I don't want to hear about Apple.
A bunch of commies, a bunch of leftists.
I don't want to hear about Apple.
But I.
Well, I know.
There's a lot of Apple stuff out there.
And a lot of people like them like I do.
Like their products, anyway.
Anyway, I want to, I've got the audio sound bites because I mentioned some of the testimony that took place yesterday on Capitol Hill during the House Ways and Means Committee on the IRS scandal.
And one of the people, and every one of those people that testified was fab, John Eastman, National Organization for Marriage, was great.
There was a lot to learn by watching the Democrats in that committee try to defend what the IRS did and tell these Tea Party groups, well, you ask for it.
I mean, you asked for this by seeking tax-exempt status.
What do you think we're going to do to you?
But there's a woman from Alabama by the name of Becky Garritson.
She's from the Wetumka Alabama Tea Party.
She's the president.
And she testified, and she was great.
Here are a couple of her soundbites.
I'm not here as a serf or a vassal.
I'm not begging my lords for mercy.
I'm a born-free American woman, wife, mother, and citizen.
And I'm telling my government that you've forgotten your place.
It's not your responsibility to look out for my well-being and to monitor my speech.
It's not your right to assert an agenda.
Your post, the post that you occupy, exists to preserve American liberty.
You've sworn to perform that duty, and you have faltered.
The abuses I will discuss today occurred on your watch, and it's your responsibility to make sure it doesn't happen again.
That is so right on the money.
You have forgotten your place.
It's not your responsibility to look out for my well-being and to monitor my speech.
You've sworn to protect and preserve American liberty, and you have faltered.
She is so right on the money.
And I, folks, I realize a lot of you want what I'm thinking or what my interpretation of this Star Wars scene going on right now at the White House.
I mean, I don't know what to tell you.
Obama, he's naming Susan Rice to a new position of power and this Samantha power and Donnelly going, but I'm sorry.
I don't know how to do this because I have no respect for these people at all.
None.
I respect the offices they hold.
But to me, these people are just the epitome of danger.
These, what Obama is doing here with these two appointments, he's basically just can I be, I'll pretend to be John Kerry, and I'm going to tell you what these two appointments are.
They're F you, and he's saying that to us.
And that's why he's making these appointments.
Because folks, it doesn't matter who's in these positions.
They are all him.
Every one of them is as true a believer as Obama is, and that's why they are there.
And it's been that way since he first started naming people to his regime, naming his czars.
And I totally believe that these people have secret email addresses, and I totally believe they're working to undermine the way this country was founded.
I have no doubt in my mind that's what they're doing.
They don't like it.
They don't like the Constitution.
To them, the Constitution's not a source of beauty and brilliance.
It's not a miracle.
It is a constraint to these people.
The Constitution is an obstacle.
It's in their way.
They have got to find ways around it while making you think that they have the same reverence for it that you do when they don't.
This bunch of people, it's like I saw, Herbert Meyer again.
Herbert Meyer has another of his running in the, it's at the American Thinker.
And he apologizes for the analogy.
He says, he wants to compare some things to Adolf Hitler, and he does it this way.
He said, there's not one document.
There is not one piece of paper.
There's not one official link anywhere that Adolf Hitler hated Jews.
There's not one document of Hitler ordering the Holocaust.
If you're looking for that as a source of proof, you won't find it.
Herbert Meyer's point is, so how did he do it?
Well, what did he speak about?
Everybody he hired knew what he wanted.
He hired true believers.
He hired people and put them in positions who he knew would carry out his desires because they either worshipped him or sought his approval or believed everything he believed.
Herb Meyer's point was he didn't need to issue instructions.
The people he put in power knew what he wanted.
Now, he went to great pains.
I'm not comparing anybody else to Adolf Hitler.
He went to great lengths to explain that he was showing how true believers operate.
So this IRS business, everybody's looking for the smoking gun that will link Obama to it, and you're not going to find it.
You can have all the hearings in the world you want.
Same thing in Benghazi, you're not going to find there isn't a smoking gun that's going to link Barack Obama to any of this.
There doesn't need to be is the point.
Look at this Lois Lerner.
You think she needed instructions?
You think she needed an owner's manual?
She showed up hating conservatives.
She showed up hating the Tea Party.
She arrived wanting to cause them pain and trouble.
She arrived wanting to punish them.
That's why she was put there.
So Susan Rice, I don't care what payback for having to go out there and make a fool of herself of herself and lie five times in one day about Benghazi.
So this is out of boy, Susan.
Susan Rice has been given whatever job she's got today because she is Barack Obama Jr.
And this Samantha Power, who is the wife of Cass Sunstein, who is in liberal circles almost godlike, is a Harvard law professor.
He's one of the architects of this whole view of the Constitution as a negative document, not something to revere.
It's a freaking problem, a charter of negative liberties.
This woman, Samantha Power, guess what?
Guess what her reputation is?
She doesn't like Israel much.
I wonder why she got the job then.
So I'm not under any illusion that any of this attention, the focus on the IRS, the discovery of what they did, it's not going to change Obama, folks.
It's not.
We cannot stop Obama from being Obama.
This isn't going to happen.
And contrary to what you think, he's getting up every day.
He's happy as a lark.
He's sailing through.
He's getting all this stuff done.
And there may be some troubles, but he's not attached to it.
He knows that Congress can't get to him.
Nobody can.
The American people don't even associate him with this stuff.
He's still got his approval number at 51%, whatever it is.
He's untouched by any of this.
So getting upset every time he appoints somebody, getting upset because it's a poke in the eye, is to miss the point.
Until the Republican Party gets some gonads and starts pushing back on some of this stuff, it's going to continue.
But the pushback cannot be solely oriented toward linking Obama to it because there isn't a paper trail.
There isn't a smoking gun.
Nobody is going to ever prove that Barack Obama ordered Lois Lerner to do what she did.
The truth of the matter is he didn't have to.
That's why there isn't Van Jones, a well-known communist communist sympathizer.
I remember when it was first discovered who he was.
I wonder how this guy got past Obama.
He's put there precisely because Obama wanted him there, just like whoever is in his regime, whoever the czars are, the secret emails, the secret email addresses.
Lisa Jackson at EPA acting as a de facto czar out of control with no oversight.
That's exactly why she's there.
She's there to do Obama's bidding, keeping his name out of it so that he can get away with executing the Limbaugh theorem so that he can continue to campaign publicly against all this stuff that's happening.
Like this stupid AP story out there, that the great recovery hadn't happened.
Part and parcel of that story is: gee, Obama's got to be really disappointed because he put these policies into play that were supposed to cause this great recovery by now, but Obama gets to run around and run against the poor recovery.
Obama gets to run around and talk about the bad employment numbers as though he's got nothing to do with it, when in fact, it is his architecture that has given us practically every negative economic circumstance in the country today.
Barack Obama owns it.
It is happening because he wants it to happen.
You think it's an accident that 10 million people are on disability?
You think it's an accident that the labor force participation rate is the smallest in modern American history, and yet everybody unemployed still eating and still have a TV set, still driving a car and still using their phone?
You think it's an accident?
I'm telling you, the 2014 midterms are crucially important.
That's what they're all focused on right now.
Winning the House.
You win the House.
If Obama, the Democrats win the House, then there's no such thing as a lame duck for the last two years.
And the presidential race of 2016, it may even overshadow what's going on because everybody's going to be looking forward and the presidential race is going to be captivating everybody's attention.
Exactly what Obama wants.
They're going to be able to implement whatever they want to do with no opposition whatsoever.
They're even going to have to do legislation.
Just sign an executive order.
There won't be anybody to stop it.
There won't be anybody in Congress to stop it.
There won't be anybody in the federal judiciary to stop it.
They'll all rubber stamp whatever Obama wants to do.
Won't even need legislation for any of it if they don't want to go that route.
And then at the same time, they set up whatever Democrat gets a nomination, 2016, Chris Christie.
Keep the ball rolling.
Back with more in a moment.
You know, Cookie is going to shoot me.
She had so many sound bites for me today, and I just didn't get to them.
But they're going to be good tomorrow.
Some of them are evergreen, so we'll keep the stack going for tomorrow and even into Friday if we have to.
Anyway, folks, Andrew in Olney, Maryland.
It's great to have you on the program.
Hi, sir.
Good afternoon.
Hello, thanks for taking my call.
You bet.
I was rather taken by your trip to Normandy.
And I just wanted to share with you was the fact that I had, my wife had been stationed over there in 85 through 87, and we went up to Normandy in June of 86 and was really taken by the number of visitors, French, of all ages, who were visiting the cemetery at Omaha Beach.
And in September before that year, in the middle of the week, we were going through the First World War battlefield area near Verdun and came across the second largest American cemetery in France for the First World War veterans.
You know, it's an interesting point that you make.
I'm sorry to interrupt you, but I've got my, as usual, dwindling clock.
But there weren't a lot of people.
It was crowded, but not like it's going to be this weekend as the actual anniversary date approaches.
But there were a lot of French people.
And it was something I was wondering about, just how much appreciation remains, how much active appreciation or even thanks.
And there were a lot of French people at the American Cemetery and others, too.
It was very heartwarming, sobering at the same time visit.
And I appreciate the call.
I got to take a break, though, folks.
We'll be back.
Wrap it up after this.
There's a story out there in the Atlantic, I think it's there, that the Susan Rice appointment is a sign Obama thinks that he's won Benghazi again.
Of course.
Folks, he's not damaged by any of this.
Benghazi, IRS, he hasn't been damaged by it, and he probably won't be.
Be back tomorrow.
See you then.
