Time Text
So I checked the email during the top of the hour break, and uh a bunch of leftists are trying to convince me to let this Benghazi thing go.
It's old news, not gotta change anything now.
We've got to move on.
It isn't old news.
As you know what we are about here, as we are in the arena of ideas.
Express purpose of this program is attempt to build as large a block of informed citizens as possible.
That's if I had to attach, if somebody demanded, well, what is your purpose, Limbaugh?
Well, what are you really trying to do?
Outside of the business requirements of this program, satisfying radio business requirements, being successful there.
I'm just trying to create the largest block of informed participating voting citizens in this country.
And so this is all relevant.
I'll tell you why.
Yeah, they got through this and they won the election, and in that sense it is old news.
But the current iteration of this is to protect Hillary Clinton at all costs, because in many Democrat minds, she is the next nominee.
And I'll tell you why that's the case.
They realize the gold mine that they struck with Obama as the first African American president, makes him untouchable.
You can't criticize Obama.
He's historic.
And as such, any criticism is said to be unsubstantive and simply racist or bigoted or resentful even.
So they want to go for the next shot, and that would be the first woman president, first female president.
And the same thing would apply.
Any criticism is sexist.
Any criticism is bigoted.
Any criticism is hate-filled.
And with these firsts, according to skin color and gender or gender, they think they're inoculating themselves from any criticism.
And believe me, Mrs. Clinton is owed because 2008 was hers until Obama came along.
And then they chose the young black guy and kicked her to the curb when it was hers.
08 was hers.
That was the deal.
That was the deal for sticking with her husband and looking the other way, or even helping to defend the bimbo eruptions and all that stuff.
Vast right-wing conspiracy during the Lewinsky circ situation.
So it's her turn.
She's really, really owed now, and so they're out to protect her.
And in fact, Joel Pollock at Breitbart today, Democrats' agenda for Benghazi hearing is to protect Hillary at all cost.
The hearing is on Wednesday.
It's the House Oversight Government Reform Committee, Darrell Eysa, about the Benghazi terror attack.
And the Democrats have a clear agenda, and that is to protect Hillary at all costs.
Here's the pull quote from this story that is all you need to know.
Clinton's role in Benghazi is particularly damaging because it risks becoming the signature legacy of her tenure as Secretary of State.
Despite racking up an exhaustive travel record, Clinton had few actual achievements to show for her four years as Secretary of State, a burden as she contemplates her 2016 ambitions.
And so, ladies and gentlemen, Benghazi does remain at the top of the stack relevant.
And according to Fox News, we have a story here by Chad Pergrim and James Rosen.
According to Fox News, Mark Thompson, a former Marine, now the deputy coordinator for the State Department's counterterrorism bureau, is going to testify on Wednesday that Hill well, I don't know if they'll get to him Wednesday, but when they do get to him,
he is going to testify that Hillary Clinton and a key aide, Patrick Kennedy, tried to cut the State Department's own counterterrorism bureau out of the chain of reporting and decision making during The actual Benghazi attack.
Fox News has also learned that another official from the same counterterrorism bureau, independently, of Mark Thompson, voiced the same complaint about Clinton and Kennedy to national security colleagues back in October.
None of this came out before the elections.
Mark Thompson says that his account was suppressed by the official investigative panel that Clinton convened to review the episode, the Accountability Review Board, which is currently being investigated by the inspector general.
On the night of September 11th, as the regime scrambled to respond to the Benghazi terror attacks, Hillary Clinton and a key aide effectively tried to cut the State Department's own counter-terrorism bureau out of the chain of reporting and decision making.
According to a whistleblower witness from that bureau who will soon testify to that charge before Congress.
It is a devastating account that he will tell.
Sources close to the congressional investigation who have been briefed on what he'll say tell Fox News that the veteran counterterrorism official concluded on September 11th that Clinton and Kennedy tried to cut the counterterrorism bureau out of the loop as they and other regime officials weighed how to respond and characterize the attacks.
You should have seen what Clinton tried to do to us that night.
The second official in the counterterrorism bureau told colleagues back in October.
And those comments would appear to be corroborated by Thompson's testimony.
So there are two people from the counterterrorism bureau in the State Department who are going to testify that they were aced out, that their thoughts, their efforts, their work, their participation was cut.
You should have seen what Clinton tried to do to us that night.
So it's quite the tale that has emerged in just the past week or so, with the whistleblowers appearing masked, camouflaged, voice altered on Fox.
The State Department spokeswoman, by the way, is a woman named Jen Pisaki.
She called a counterterrorism officials allegations 100% false.
Now let's remember who she is.
Jen Pesaki is the former Obama campaign flack who lied about the campaign knowing anything about Joe Soptik.
He's the guy who claimed that Romney caused his wife to die of cancer and didn't care about it.
She was caught red-handed in her lie by the politico of all people.
She and what's the other one, Stephanie Cutter, were both in on.
They both claimed they never heard of this guy.
They set that up.
That entire premise that Romney let a guy's wife die of cancer, didn't care about it, because all he cared about was corporate money and profits.
State Department spokeswoman Jen Pisaki called these officials' allegations 100% false.
And we just had a caller, how can we trust him?
You can't with these people.
Now, what this means when the counterterrorism officials were bypassed, it means that Hillary bypassed her own experts, folks.
The counterterrorism bureau in the State Department is equivalent of the counter-espionage people of CIA.
They've got their own group in there.
And Hillary bypassed her own experts.
And we've been told that she never contacted the DOD.
Leon Panetta, the Joint Chiefs, yet she testified under oath that she did everything she could to help the people in Benghazi.
In fact, that's what she said right before she said, What difference it make now?
See, she said she was so busy trying to save people.
She couldn't be bothered to get to the bottom of who was behind the attack.
That was her point.
We were so busy trying to save people.
That's right.
Is that why the people died?
is that why you sent a guy?
Well, a guy went in on his own to try to paint a target for military assets he thought were in the sky to help them.
And there were no assets, so he ended up painting himself, and the terrorists took him out.
By the way, Jen Psaki admitted after pressure from the politico that yes, they knew Soptik from before the ad was made.
The guy whose wife died, that Romney didn't care about.
So that, folks, is why all of this still matters.
They were able to get through one election without any of this damaging them.
They're going to try to get through another nominating process and another election without any of this damage, and this time Hillary.
The express purpose now is to protect Hillary Clinton, to make sure none of this touches her.
Brief time out.
We'll come back and continue later.
We've still got lots to touch on, as I told you at the top of the program, so don't go away.
We'll be back before you know it.
Your guiding light, your bulwark.
Rush Limbaugh demonstrating pushback every day here on the EIB network and the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies, Minneapolis, Minnesota area.
Here is Jules.
I'm glad you called.
Hi.
Hi, Rush.
Mega Ditto's, buddy.
Thank you very much, sir.
Rush, I have a simple question.
All right.
Since President Obama and Hillary Clinton refused to send any help to the Americans that were under attack at the embassy.
Yeah.
And they even told the heroes, who said they were going in on their own to help.
They told those heroes to stand down.
What did President Obama and Hillary Clinton actually want to happen to all those Americans at that embassy?
Did she want them dead?
No, see here.
This is really, really glad that you called.
Because this is a fascinating answer.
I mean, the question is absolutely great.
And the answer, I think if I can, if I can do this right, if I can express what I know to be the case correctly, then it'll it'll have been worthwhile.
No, they did not want anybody to die.
That's the last thing they wanted.
This is why they can't be trusted.
The left, in my opinion, cannot be trusted with these kinds of positions.
They are not aware of the possibilities.
They're not aware of the consequences of their actions.
Now I'm being frowned at by people on the other side of the glass.
Do you guys in there really think they wanted the ambassador to die?
Do you think that they thought there was some positive to that?
Let me tell you a little story.
1960 presidential campaign, and I'm nine years old, and my dad is very much opposed to John F. Kennedy.
And I remember asking my dad, is he a bad man?
Daddy, why don't you like him?
He said, No, son, I don't think he knows what he's doing.
And he told me the following story.
He said, if I grabbed a baseball bat here in our kitchen and started swinging it, I doubt that I would hit anything.
But if I stood on a chair and started swinging a baseball bat, I probably would hit the light bulb and destroy the lamp, not intending to.
And I think that's what Kennedy would do.
I think he's going to start a war not knowing what he's doing.
I don't think he's competent.
I just don't think that was his way of sharing with nine-year-old What his real concern was about JFK.
Now, to try to relate this to the Benghazi situation, there were just things more important.
And the thing that was more important than anything else was the election and the agenda.
The Benghazi thing happens on 9-11.
It's not supposed to happen because Obama has told everybody that Al Qaeda's on the run and we've beaten terrorism, that bin Laden is dead.
Therefore, what's happening can't happen.
It can't be happening.
And if it is, we have to concoct a different explanation for people that will not harm me or us and our reputation.
So they came up with the video in spontaneous protest.
The reason they didn't send any assistance in is because they didn't want to offend the Libyans.
And they didn't want to give birth to the story that there was something to defend.
They didn't think the ambassador was gonna die.
Well, you I'm you this you may find this hard to believe, but if you think Obama took this seriously, why did he vanish at 5 o'clock?
If he's told what's going on, it's okay, you guys deal with it.
I've got some else.
And he goes he goes at 5 o'clock to do something, and nobody to this day knows where he went, what he was doing.
There is a there's a there's an arrogance and a conceit and a narcissism about these people that stuff just doesn't happen when they're in change.
And if it does, it's somebody else's fault.
No, they didn't want the ambassador to die.
No, they didn't want these other people to die, but but they wanted something else more.
And that is not to be harmed.
They rolled the dice.
So when people did die, they had a panic circumstance to deal with, and that's why we got all these cockamamy explanations for it.
They didn't want Chris Stevens to die.
They didn't want him to be tortured.
They didn't know this was going on at the time.
Who told them?
How do we didn't know any of this till after the fact?
Attack means a bunch of protesters are throwing rocks at the building to them.
I'm telling you, folks, look.
Nobody is gonna convince me, no matter what you think of these people, nobody is going to convince me that they wanted people to die.
I'm telling you, there were just things more important to them at the time.
They didn't want to admit that Obama hadn't won the war on terror.
They didn't want to have to admit that Al-Qaeda was still alive and kicking.
These whistleblowers were threatened, they were told to shut up if they wanted to keep their careers.
There were just things more important to them.
Defending that embassy or that consulate when those attacks were taking place in their minds would have exposed them.
And would have created questions they didn't want to answer.
I thought you said Al Qaeda had been beaten back.
I thought you I thought you said that uh war on terror was over.
I thought that they didn't want to deal with that at the time.
The fact the fr.
Snerdley just said the fact that an attack on September 11th is happening means nothing to them.
The fact that it was September 11th, after it had been bragging about killing Obama bin Laden, and it didn't even occur to them they might be attacked.
I don't think it occurred to them they might Be attacked.
This is what I mean about them being incompetent.
I don't think it occurred to them that there would be an attack.
And so when one happened.
Let me, folks, how many times have I told you?
I know these people like back of my hand.
I I know liberals better than I've known anybody in my life.
I mean, groups of people, I'm telling you, I understand they didn't.
Isn't it obvious as we look back that they weren't even prepared for an attack?
They didn't think it possible.
They believe their own BS.
It's not just Obama saying Al Qaeda's been beaten back on the run and there is no more terrorist.
He believes it.
These people really, particularly him with his messianic conflicts, they believe this stuff.
So when what they believe is thrown up in their face is untrue, they can't admit that.
They will never be wrong.
No matter what happens, they will never be wrong.
Ladies and gentlemen, I realize how lonely this job of mine can be on days like this.
Trying to explain the left to you, and when I offer the explanations, you reject them because you are judging them in the same rational way you would judge anybody else.
You can't do that.
We literally do not have any common ground with these people.
There isn't any bipartisanship possible.
When you are pampered, like these people are, particularly Obama, when you're pampered, you start out thinking you are the God's gift to creation, and then you're treated that way your whole life.
And then in your career, at the pinnacle of career, you are treated that way by everybody in your circle, from the media on down to every donor, you can very easily have a jaundiced perception of yourself.
After 9-11 happened in 2001, what was the left's reaction?
We deserved it.
Don't deny it, folks.
The State Department had a panel discussion and a seminar after 9-11, the title of it, which was Why Do They Hate Us?
The State Department.
This is the Bush State Department.
The career people in there are a bunch of leftists.
Why do they hate it?
It was our fault.
Now, as far as Obama and Hillary and the Democrats are concerned, 9-11 happened because of George W. Bush.
The world hated America.
The world hated George W. Bush, remember?
Remember all of the attempts.
Cyrus Norasta had a had a movie that ABC edited wouldn't make a DVD of leading up to the events of 9-11, how they happened, and any criticism of Bill Clinton and that thing was scrubbed and eliminated.
Even though Bill Clinton in 1998 had warned of the identical things that George Bush warned of.
It was as though Clinton never said those things.
This, the Democrat Party, the American left, genuinely now, don't do not doubt me on this, genuinely believes the world hated this country because of George W. Bush, because of Iraq, because of Afghanistan, because of the war on terror.
When Barack Obama was elected, the Democrat Party and Obama and Clinton and Hillary and all of them, Biden, you name it, Stanny Hoyer, Chris Van Holland, Debbie Blebermasch, they all believed.
They didn't just, they weren't just saying this.
They really believed that with the election of Obama, the United States was loved once again.
They really believed the terrorists were not going to hate us anymore.
They do believe that.
That is how much they think of themselves.
That is how much they love themselves.
They don't just say these things.
They believe these things that they say.
Now you hear them say these things, and you and you think, well, they're just bragging or politicking or maybe being outraged.
believe this stuff.
Need I remind you?
General Petraus is going to testify about the surge in Iraq, and they run ads before even testifies, calling him a liar.
And the whole Democrat Party, including Hillary Clinton, joined that chorus.
There could not, there would not be, it was not possible, and it wouldn't be permitted any success in Iraq or Afghanistan while Bush was president.
It wasn't possible.
Politically, they weren't going to let it happen, but in their real world, it wasn't possible.
Everybody hated Bush.
The Iraqis hated Bush.
The Iranians hated Bush.
And that's why they did terrible things to us.
Bin Laden hated Bush.
Everybody hated Bush.
Everybody hated America because of Bush.
They believe this, folks.
Then Obama gets elected and it's instant love.
Go back and look at Obama's speeches during the campaign.
He's going to lower the sea levels.
America's going to be loved and respected again.
We're going to heal all these divisions.
Go back and listen to that stuff.
They believe it.
You think that's not possible?
They believe it.
My point is that when you believe all these things, and when you are pampered and puffed up and treated like royalty by a media, you get further into it.
How great you are, how wonderful you are, how special you are.
And in the middle of all of this, these people who you think only did what they did because they hated Bush.
Attack your embassy?
Kill your ambassador.
And Bush is long gone?
That can't be.
There has to be some other reason.
It can't be me, Obama says it can't be Hillary.
Can't be, they love me.
I did that speech in Cairo.
I'm the one everybody was waiting for.
Can't be me.
And they think everybody else agrees.
It can't be Obama, so here comes this poor sap that made the video.
And he takes the rap.
I would contend to you that for a while they believed that.
I will, I will, I would bet you that after they sent Susan Rice, they believed that.
So trying to understand these people, this is why my friends, this is why I have gotten hoarse over the years.
Hoping, praying, if you will, that people would begin to understand these people as I do.
That everything they do is political, that everything's part of their agenda, that nothing that happens is in a vacuum and is just the result of nature.
Everything they do.
Well, that's the thing.
And the day in Cairo, the day in Cairo, on 9-11, the protesters there are shouting, we're all Osama.
We're all Osama.
I'm sure there was shock and disbelief that these people would be mad at Obama for taking out bin Laden.
Narcissists cannot possibly understand or conceive of being mocked, made fun of, disagreed with, laughed at.
If that happens, they've got to silence that.
They've got to.
So no, they didn't want these people to die, but they're living in a state of disbelief that it happened.
This can't be happening.
This doesn't happen to us.
We're not Bush.
It's called denial, folks.
So when it is happening, what's their first instinct?
Cover it up.
Miscast it.
Mischaracterize it.
Because it can't be their fault.
There are things they didn't want those four people to die.
I don't think they thought they would die.
I don't think they thought this was that serious to begin with.
To begin with, later in the night in the day they had no choice but then to accept it, but by that time it was too late.
They're denying assistance.
They they couldn't afford to retaliate.
There is no war on terror.
Obama fixed that.
Mr. Lombo, that's what you're third.
You you really believe that I do.
Yes, folks, I do.
And the sooner everybody else understands this about these people, the better off this country is going to be.
Okay.
That's why bipartisan.
There's nothing we don't have any commonality here.
There really isn't any common ground of what we believe philosophically or even strategically.
The left will eventually believe and accept anything that they think will advance their agenda and their party.
They don't have any moorings attached to the truth.
The truth is what they make it every day.
The truth is whatever they're able to shape.
Jay Carney...
As we speak, is trying to discredit the Benghazi whistleblowers at a White House briefing.
He's pointing out that the State Department's accountability review board closing the book on Benghazi.
Even though we uh we now know that they didn't even talk to one of the major players, Mark Thompson, but he's he's out there saying, oh yeah, we we we talked to them.
We got their thoughts on this.
They just didn't want to act on what they said.
I mean, they Jay Carney's out there directly contradicting what the whistleblowers said and have said and are going to testify to.
They make their own truth.
And if you've got a willing, compliant media willing to spread your own truth.
Can you imagine what that would make you feel like?
How invincible you might end up feeling.
So to me, it's it's not that complicated.
The simplest way to understand it is that this happened and they weren't prepared.
For whatever reason, they weren't prepared.
They didn't think it possible.
They didn't have any contingency if it did happen, uh, but their egos, their self-love, I don't know what it is that that gets in the way, but well, I do know what it is.
They just when you got down to it, folks, they're incompetent.
Where somebody show me any competence in any.
Is there any competence in the health care reform?
Is there any competence in this immigration proof?
Is there any competence in the economic policy?
Is there any competence in how we're dealing with housing?
The debt, the economy, jobs, is there any anybody know what they're doing here?
Charitably.
The alternative is they know exactly what they're doing.
They're doing it on purpose for the express purpose of empowering themselves further.
However you slice it, they are most important to them.
The way they end up being perceived, the way they end up being insulated, whatever, however it takes, they just found the things more important that night than what was happening at the consulate.
And what was more important was shaping it.
Defining it.
Remember, we're in the heat of an election campaign.
To me, it makes perfect sense.
I know it's hard to get your arms around.
This takes me to this piece in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review by Selena Zito.
When will America burst DC's bubble?
I gotta take a break here, but let me come back with that.
Uh and then, folks, there's a miracle in aviation.
A new battery-powered airplane.
Honest to Pete.
Solar powered, battery-powered airplane.
Are you ready?
San Francisco to Phoenix in da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
Twenty hours.
It's been called an aviation miracle.
When Snerdley came in and told me about this, I said, what did it?
Taxi there.
No, no, it flew.
It's an aviation miracle.
This is progress.
San Francisco to Phoenix in almost a whole day.
Selena Zito in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review.
She's an editorial page columnist, the piece yesterday entitled When Will America's America Burst DC's bubble.
And let me just give you a poll.
It's a great piece.
And it is logically written to explain the real division in America.
The real division in America is not between the races.
The real division in America, according to her, is not between the sexes and gender orientation.
It's not between the rich and the poor, black or white, male, female, immigrant versus legals.
Those are not the divisions.
The centralized power and wealth in our nation's capital are becoming so disconnected from the rest of the country that it is palpable to everyone except those who live in Washington.
In most people's lives, the driving issue is economic security.
Washington's obsession with social and cultural issues that drive bigger wedges between us and them is not what most people are concerned with.
And it's only a matter of time before the rest of America's complaints will burst Washington's bubble.
Eighteen Starbucks can be found in the three-mile walk from DuPont Circle to the U.S. Capitol.
Not one of them had a line less than seven people deep on a recent Wednesday afternoon.
Twenty-one construction sites filled with workers on girders and cranes towering over whole city blocks can be found in the same walk.
Commerce burst from every angle of Washington.
Small businesses packed with shoppers, hair salons charging more than the monthly mortgage payment on my first house for a cut and blow dry.
And Maine, as well as side streets clogged with traffic.
America's America's capital seems bubble wrapped in its own vibrant economic boom, while great chunks of the nation struggle with uncertainty about how to keep the engine going.
In fact, six of the ten wealthiest American counties are Washington suburbs.
Washington once was the manifested power.
Now you can add center of wealth to its portfolio, crystallizing the elite institutional disconnect between it and the rest of the country.
So while Washington basks in its roaring economy, debating such issues is gay marriage and guns and how to provide a path to citizenship for 11 million illegals.
The rest of the country is saying, where are the jobs?
Can we focus on the jobs?
What about our wealth?
What about our opportunity?
What about our main street?
What about our housing industry?
What about our retail sector?
Where are the jobs?
You remember us?
Can we can we focus on the jobs?
The centralized power and wealth in Washington becoming so disconnected from the rest of this country, it is palpable to everybody except those in Washington.
In most people's lives, the driving issue is economic security.
Washington's obsession is with social and cultural issues that drive bigger wedges between us and them.
And she thinks it's only a matter of time before the rest of America's complaints.
And look, I talked to a Republican recently, an elected Republican.
Said, Rush, we have to have alternatives to what the Democrats propose.
Why?
Well, we just do.
We just can't let the proposed stuff have no alternative.
Yep, why can't we say no?
No, no, no, we gotta have alternatives.
That's the route of the that's how the Democrats set the agenda.
Whatever they want out of clear blue, we need to do this, they say.
We have to have an alternative.
How about the alternative being?
No, we don't have to do that.
We've been doing enough of what you guys want.
Look where it's getting us.
Gotta take a break, unfortunately, back after this.
Still lots to come, folks.
Immigration.
Obama at Ohio State.
And much more.
You know, Washington, D.C. is a one-industry town collecting and spending our money.
That's what they do.
Export Selection
