Ladies and gentlemen, the news can now be officially confirmed.
EIB Network News confirms an arrest has been made in the Boston Marathon bombing.
EIB Network News confirms it.
It's official.
Great to have you back.
We're here at 800-282-2882.
The email address, L Rushbow at EIBNet.com.
There may be some hope for Salon.com.
There may be some hope for Salon.
Remember, David Sorota, Salon, let's hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white American.
Let's go to Fran Townsend CNN with Wolf Blitzer this afternoon.
Blitzer said, you yourself, Fran Townsend of CNN.
At least you can't tell us.
Maybe you know information that you don't want to share right now.
All we are is a news network.
But there's no reason that you should tell us what you know.
We're a news network.
We're a network of reporters.
And you're out there, Fran, and you know things.
And I know you can't tell us.
So I don't even know why we're on the air here at CNN.
So I want to bring you in here, Fran, so you can tell us what you can't tell us.
And so you tell us what you know that you can't impart.
Is that right?
Is that what I'm hearing?
There has been an arrest made.
And and uh you're not sure it's exactly precise given the sensitivity of the suspect.
That's actually what he asked her.
You don't want to share anything, Fran, because you're not sure it's exactly precise, given the sensitivity of the suspect.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I offer a common sense-based opinion.
May I?
If they had news that the perpetrator here was white, we would have had height, weight, clothes, facial hair.
We would know everything.
We would know what radio show the guy listens to, what TV network he watches, what publications he read, we would know everything there is if the guy was white, wouldn't we?
Is I mean that's just me, but is that a safe assumption to make.
But the sensitivity of the suspect.
And John King at CNN earlier said dark skinned, and that's all he could say.
Couldn't say anymore, just dark skinned Wolf, but I can't go anywhere.
Don't ask me.
I can't say dark skinned.
It's very, very sensitive.
He's arrested.
He's heading into court.
I get him a lawyer before he speaks up.
Here's how Fran Townsend answered Wolf's question.
Yes, well, that's exactly right.
As I say, I'm gathering, and we are all working to gather additional information, but we have a responsibility to feel confident before we do that and say, Yes, I've got some information that lends me to believe uh they're thinking it may more be domestic related, but I I wolf, we don't have enough yet to be confident of that.
So there's still hope for Salon, right?
Because Fran says they're that they're thinking it may be more domestic related, but Wolf, we don't have enough yet to be confident at, so I can't tell you what I've been told.
I can't tell you what I know.
So it's domestic, but I can't say that.
Uh John King says dark skin is very sensitive.
And then Wolf said the sensitivity of the suspect.
Whatever that means.
But again, the EIB network news has confirmed an arrest has been made, and we're just now waiting for somebody in officialdom to tell us who and what.
And uh somehow massage through the sensitivity.
The Senate vote on the background check bill, the gun control bill, is still scheduled for four o'clock this afternoon.
The Associated Press says that the bill in peril.
It may not pass.
And again, remember folks, four percent, only four percent of the American people care about gun control.
Only four percent.
Do you realize I really do need to make this point again?
Ninety-six percent of the American people don't care about gun control.
And when it and when it comes to immigration, it's almost the same thing.
5-6%.
5-6% American people care about illegals being granted citizenship.
94%, 93% don't care.
It is a golden opportunity for the Republican Party to reach out to link to relate to a vast majority of people on an issue.
And instead, they're throwing in with the Democrats on this.
They're throwing in with the media.
Democrats and the media want gun control, want citizenship for the uh illegal aliens.
The American people don't, but that doesn't matter.
I mean, it is really it is such such a grand opportunity.
The Republican Party has an enormous opportunity here to advance principles, to connect with the public.
And instead, they're playing along with all this, and they're doing so out of fear or because they've lost their way or lost their will or what have you.
It's mind-boggling.
I mean, they're in the business of politics.
This is a political opportunity here that they haven't had in a long time.
For the Republican Party to be on the side of 96% of the American people, two issues.
Gun control and citizenship for illegal aliens here voluntarily.
And they're throwing in with the Democrats and the media.
It's just inexplicable.
Anyway, bipartisan effort to expand background checks is in deep trouble as the Senate approaches a long-waited vote on the linchpin of the drive to curb gun violence.
Now we're also led to believe that the skin color of the PERP in Boston is a factor here.
The guy at Salon.com said that, oh no, if if the PERP is not white, then liberalism's agenda is going to be set back big time.
Gun control, immigration, national security, privacy, civil rights, everything the left cares about is going to be set back if if the PERP is a is a dark-skinned or person of color.
So the gun control bill is in deep doo doo, in deep trouble.
And from the politico tragedy threatens immigration momentum.
President Obama promised to make immigration reform his top priority after the election, but twice in the last five months, unimaginable acts of violence rattled the country, first in Newton, Connecticut, Newtown, Connecticut, then in Boston, splintering Washington's attention among immigration, gun control, and now terrorism.
Those shooters, now the Boston bomber, they really have it in for poor old Obama.
Because they're stopping his agenda.
Immigration advocates fear that balancing act will be a drag on the momentum they need to get a bill wrapped up this year.
They were hidden on down the tracks.
They were on their way to amnesty.
And then Newtown happened.
And then the Boston bombing happened.
And it just distracted poor old Obama.
So to hear the Politico tell it, the Boston bombings are just the latest in a conspiracy to derail Obama's agenda.
That's what they say here.
Twice in the last five months, unimaginable acts of violence rattled the country.
And again, I'm just going to tell you Gallup poll, identical.
4% of the American people care about gun control.
4% care.
Let me put it, care is the wrong word in immigrant.
94% support amnesty.
96% oppose granting citizenship.
To the 11 million here illegally.
They're here voluntarily.
11 million oppose it.
11 million illegals, 4% support it.
96% oppose this.
So both of these agenda items, and they're the Democrats'agenda, the president's agenda that the Republicans are throwing in with.
Inexplicably.
On immigration, you want to hear some interesting numbers?
I had my annual cigar dinner last night in New York at the Four Seasons.
The annual, it's a night to remember is what it's called, and it is a fundraiser for prostate cancer, Michael Milken's organization, Prostate Cancer Foundation.
And the place sells out every year.
It's a fun night, black tie event, uh auction items, you get to smoke cigars, and nobody complains to you.
It's always a lot of fun.
This is the 19th annual.
I've been to all but one of them, and the only one I couldn't make is because mechanical on the airplane, and I couldn't get there in time.
Anyway, I ran into somebody last night who started chatting me up about immigration and telling me how I was wrong, that the Republicans are going to have to make inroads with Hispanics or we're lost.
It's over.
The Republicans are going to have to start showing interest in the Hispanics in this country.
The Hispanics don't think the Republicans like them.
And the Republicans are going to have to work hard, make the Hispanics know that they're loved, liked, appreciated, and all that.
I said, what I don't understand in this is why this person was a Republican.
Why are you so eager to register 11 million new Democrats?
What I said what you want is no different than what the Democrats want.
Doesn't that concern you?
And it wasn't about that.
This person, it was all about the Republicans reaching out to the Hispanics and making the Hispanics think the Republicans love them.
And I said, the polling data I've got shows that 70% of the Hispanic vote in this country believes government is the source of prosperity, and they vote Democrat.
And this person, well, I don't, and that's not true.
And I said, well, every polling data I've seen supports that.
I said.
Fully two-thirds of every group of Hispanics that shows up vote Democrat.
And this person, no, no, no.
That's because the Hispanics don't think the Republicans like them.
And then the Romney campaign was was held up as an example.
Romney didn't reach out to the Hispanics.
Uh Romney didn't do any Hispanic fundraisers.
Romney didn't go to the Hispanic community anywhere.
And so the Hispanics didn't think that they were loved and adored and liked or appreciated, and so they vote Democrat.
So I'm mentioning this today.
Some friends I got back and started doing show prep, and I'm telling about the event.
And somebody sent me some numbers.
7% of the voters...
This is what I was sent today.
And I I didn't double check this.
But I'm I'm trusting that this is accurate.
7% of the voters in the election were Hispanic.
Does that sound right?
7% of the electorate in the 2012 presidential race was Hispanic, of which the Republicans got 27%.
Okay, now 28% of the electorate, 28% of the voters in the presidential race 2012 were evangelicals, Of which the Republicans got 78%.
Meanwhile, the Republicans are told to dump the evangelicals and spend more time on the Hispanics.
So whether the 7% is close.
So here are the numbers here.
7% of the Hispanic, 7% of the presidential vote 2012 was Hispanic, and the Republicans got 27%.
28% of the voters were evangelicals, and we got 78% of those.
You would think that the Republicans would stay focused on a large percentage of voters, 27%, of whom 78% vote Republican.
But instead, the Republican Party is being told, forget the evangelicals by virtue of forget social issues.
Social issues are going to kill this party, we're told.
You've got to stop talking about the social issues.
Okay, so the Republicans are being told to throw away 78% of 27% of the electorate, and instead focus on 7% of the electorate, of which just a quarter voted for Republicans.
Now here's the dirty little secret, folks.
Hispanics are voting Democrat for the same reason other people vote Democrat.
And I, you know, I I I was telling this person last night who was talking to me about this, is you you have really got me over.
I don't even see people as Hispanics.
I look out of this country, I see Americans.
When I think about reaching out to people, I think about reaching out to Americans with a set of principles.
I don't care whether they're Hispanic or black or Japanese or Asian, doesn't matter.
They're Americans.
I see Americans.
I reach out to them with principles, ideas, conservatism.
This person said, what is a conservative?
I don't even know what a conservative is.
Honestly, that's I don't even know what a conservative is.
So the the mes will discount your conservatism.
I don't even know what it is.
Conservatism disqualified.
I don't even know what it is.
Well, I don't think people vote in blocks.
I think we're told they do, and I think everybody fashions news to make it look like people vote in blocks.
But Hispanics are voting Democrat for the same reason that other people vote Democrat.
They're voting as individuals who are attracted to the left's agenda.
And that's what we've got to come to grips with and admit.
Why are they attracted to the left's agenda?
Why are they attracted to big government?
Why are they attracted to being taken care of?
Why are they attracted to Santa Claus?
But I don't I don't buy this voting in bloc other than the African America.
That obviously is one.
But people vote as individuals.
We on the right are not offering attractive arguments or visions.
It's like this woman said to me last night, what what is a conservative?
What and she's a Republican, but what is a Republican?
What is a conservative?
I don't know what a conservative is.
And that's simply because there's nobody in elected politics articulating the vision, setting the principles or what have you.
Because right now, face it, the Republican Party is trying to win elections by being like the Democrats.
So who are people gonna vote for?
The authentic or the pretenders.
Be back in a second.
EIB network news is now walking back.
Our confirmation of an arrest, because everybody else is.
CNN's walking it back.
NBC News is walking it back.
There may not have been an arrest.
Homeland Security said there hasn't been an arrest.
The networks say there have been.
And now CNN's got people saying it was a brown-skinned individual, not dark-skinned, but it's still very sensitive.
And now we go to uh this is CNN's news.
This is uh Chris Kumo, CNN's newsroom just moments ago discussing the arrest.
Everybody wants to know who did this.
It's so terrible, it's so wrong.
However, an arrest does not mean guilt necessarily.
We're hearing about one individual right now, one arrest, no understanding really, even though this vague description of brown skin, whether foreign or uh domestic, whether they're part of an organization or a lone wolf, we don't know any of that.
Could be innocent.
Yes, an arrest doesn't mean guilt.
When's the last time you heard that?
Seriously, for when's the last so they're now oh, they're very looking arrest doesn't mean guilt.
We're here it's brown skin, but it's just an arrest, it doesn't mean guilt.
That's why it's sensitive, folks.
It's sensitive because it's a person of color and they're all scared to death over it.
This is flat out amazing.
Knowing what we know, and it's only what we're being told by the drive-bys who have a record of getting everything wrong, and it's important to point that out.
After Colorado, after Newtown, all that stuff about Sandy Hook, remember all of that stuff that was wrong.
So there's a caveat to all of this.
John King first said dark skinned, very sensitive.
Fran Townsend said, I can't go any further.
It's uh dark skin.
Bias could be domestic.
I can't go any further.
Chris Cuomo, brown-skinned individual, but an arrest doesn't mean guilt.
We've got to be very, very careful.
An arrest doesn't mean guilt.
It still could be a white guy.
It still could be the Tea Party.
It doesn't mean anything.
Uh folks, these people are uh I don't know.
They're embarrassing.
I wish these people could get it straight.
Now there's no arrest.
Michael McCall, who's chairman of the uh Homeland Security Committee in the House, so the FBI's telling him there's no arrest.
CNN's walking it back.
Um my question is that they say that the perp can be seen with the bag in the video and and make it he's on the phone.
They've uh they've done their magic with the cell phone towers.
The guy was on the phone at the time of the explosion carrying a bag.
They know who the guy is, at least well, they've got who he is.
They've they say the perp can be seen on video.
My question is the skin brown, is he black, brown, dark, olive, off-white?
What is it?
Well, I don't know what I here's my point.
Aren't we glad we live in a post-racial America?
Thanks to Obama.
Think about it.
The fate.
Seriously, folks, the fate of Obama and the Democrats' agenda depends on the skin color of the Boston bomber.
If somebody wrote a fiction book, they'd be laughed at and turned down, at least in the good old days.
Mark Noller, CBS News just tweeted, this is the kind of story in which being right sometimes takes a back seat to being first to report a development.
Duh.
I uh it's embarrassing.
There was an arrest, now there's not an arrest.
Dark skinned, can't say anymore, very sensitive, brown skinned, very sensitive, may not be guilty.
Arrest doesn't mean guilt.
There isn't been an arrest.
May I ask a question?
I'm I'm serious.
I know we're we're being jocular here in part of this, but I'm a serious question.
If the suspect were white, would they be going through all of these pretzel moves?
Would they would they would they be taking this much care?
If the suspect were white, would any of this be happening?
Now you tell me.
I don't know.
I'm just I'm throwing it out there because they screwed up Richard Jewell, I know.
Um Boston police just tweeted, despite reports of the contrary, there has not been an arrest in the marathon attack.
So if there hasn't been an arrest, maybe there's not a dark skinned guy either.
If there hasn't been an arrest, maybe there's not a brown skin guy.
But stop and think of this.
The fate of Obama and the Democrats' agenda depends upon the color of the Boston bomber's skin.
Salon.com today.
Let's hope the bomber is white.
Otherwise, liberalism suffers a setback.
And they tell us, folks, that we are the bigots and the racists and the sexists and the homophobes, and this is just ridiculously embarrassing.
Once great American media, this is this is uh become a caricature of a joke.
And boy, if if it's a person of color they got problems, Obama's agenda in trouble, Democrats' agenda in trouble.
Here's Mike in uh in Price Utah.
Mike, great to have you.
Hi.
Good afternoon, Rush.
It's an honor to speak with you, and I'm a longtime listener.
Thank you, sir, very much.
I'm a 30-year veteran, state of Utah law enforcement officer.
I was actually a wildlife law enforcement supervisor, but I went through the academy all the same training, excuse me, as all the other law enforcement officers.
But specifically, I had extensive training prior to the 2002 winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, where members of my agency combined with law enforcement officers from virtually all over the country and all over the world participated in that heightened security for that event, and it was very successful.
So my training and background causes me to have a little bit of uh awareness about this Boston episode, and I don't mean anything as a criticism of the Boston police and the state police and the federal agencies there at the finish line.
But recently some photos have been available uh on Fox.
I saw a photo showing what they believe is one of the devices at the front of the spectator row adjacent to the finish line, and uh probably a visitor across the street took the picture.
So there are probably literally hundreds of similar pictures because everybody's loved ones are crossing the finish line.
Well, with the tam timestamp on current digital photography and videography, you could time how long that device sat there without somebody looking at it.
And part of my training for the Olympics, they stressed that unattended packages should cause concern and should cause a law enforcement officer to investigate.
Much the same way in airports, there's a constant announcement to pay attention to unattended baggage, you know, unattended items.
I hear that all the time, yeah.
Somebody should have seen it.
But again, I'm not criticizing those guys on the ground because they had thousands of people there.
Well, wait, let me ask you a question.
What what if that bag is at somebody's feet?
Well, it was at somebody's feet.
Uh somebody who no longer has feet, probably.
Well, but but if if somebody's taking a picture of it, even a law enforcement person walking by and the bags at somebody's feet isn't the assumption it's that person's bag.
Isn't is it automatically going to be the assumption?
But in my training, we were told to ask, is that your bag?
Do you know who belongs to that?
Do you know how belong how long it's been there?
The Boston Marathon is a worldwide and national event, has heightened security, but I'm again I'm not criticizing those guys on the ground because they have a lot of responsibility.
But what I'm saying is maybe a heads up to all of us out there in the public now that have to understand that personal security and to some degree protection is also our responsibility.
I could not agree with you more on that.
We need to pay attention.
And the adage about when seconds count, a police officer may only be minutes away.
It also relates to gun control.
A well-armed and trained person may be capable of defending themselves when their local police or sheriffs are five or ten or fifteen minutes away.
And the same type of device, you know, in this case, apparently a pressure cooker was used.
That is a lawful device used legitimately by ninety-nine point nine percent of the people in the United States, but somebody used it to commit a murder.
So are we gonna hear about four-liter pressure cookers now because six liters is too big of an explosive potential?
You know, and I know it was addressed yesterday.
But my point is Americans need to understand that we're living in a different environment now.
And it's very rare that these things occur, but just take your earbuds out of your ears, get off Twitter, turn off your cell phone, pay attention to what is happening around you.
Well, but you know, it's a big event or a football game, whatever.
Mike.
See, the problem the problem is that uh how do I say this?
Um is i isn't it true, let me ask you.
Isn't it true that the news coming out of various federal agencies is that Al Qaeda's on the run.
Uh they're not a problem anymore.
You've got bin Laden uh uh getting out of Afghanistan and they're really not no threat here to me.
Are are are people being told things that maybe aren't true regarding security in America?
Yeah, I believe so.
I think they're they're going out of their way to downplay the potential of the right for political reasons.
Yeah, absolutely.
It's to drive their agenda.
You know, and and what frustrates me is that Americans have a responsibility to be involved actively and to pay attention.
You know, I was a firearms instructor for law enforcement for twenty years, so I you know, I did intensive training, and we stress with a law enforcement officer, you have the white zone, you have a yellow zone, and you have a red zone for your mental state.
White zone is when you're in bed with your wife watching Jay Leno.
Yellow is where you are to be 95% of the time if you're out in public.
Who's ahead of you in the grocery store?
Who's behind you in the bank collar window?
Who's filling their car up across the pump from you?
Pay attention.
And then red is that one percent where you're in a fight or flight situation.
What about when you're watching Letterman?
Man, oh man, oh man, the new CNN is just like the old CNN.
What a massive screw up.
But Fox was in there too, Fox and their crawl, Fox News confirms arrest making.
Can you there's no suspect in custody.
There's no arrest.
Can you imagine if talk radio had led with this, if the if if talk radio had said, there's an arrest, it's been done, the suspect's in custody, and it's going to be not true.
Can you imagine what would be said?
And it was dark skinned.
Oh, yeah.
And if it's talk radio would put out that he was dark-skinned and it turned out none of it was true, can you um oh I I shudder to think.
We would never hear the end of it.
Fran Townsend on CNN is now suggesting there's been a misunderstanding in the law enforcement community about whether the arrest was made.
It wasn't CNN.
There's a misunderstanding in the law enforcement community.
Folks, I I've got a rest is pretty clear.
Suspect in custody is pretty clear.
Dark skinned is pretty clear.
And uh now uh uh AP breaking news, federal officials deny the Boston Marathon bombing suspects in custom.
If this guy's not in custody and has been paying attention, he's just been told they know who he is.
So he's been tipped off.
You know.
Yeah, it was well caught by Lord and Taylor.
By the way, the the the one of the bags was there's a you got the people all lined up on the sidewalk watching.
Then there's a fence, the the barrier.
And the bag is on the street side of the barrier in one of the uh Boston ABC videos.
The bag is not with anybody.
It's just by itself on the other side of the barrier.
On the street side of the barrier.
So, you know, the point we're bouncing off the kite from Utah.
There was no way this bag, well, not no way, but if it's somebody's bag, they put it on the wrong side of the barrier.
If you'd look at this bag, you'd say, What's that bag doing there?
Is my point.
It's out of place.
And it turned out to be one of the bombs.
Anyway, folks, I I for what it's worth, I apologize for passing this stuff on.
I should know better.
I I really should.
They get nothing right in the early moments of any big event.
They don't.
None of them do.
Here's the latest, folks.
The suspect is being described now as a dark but light-skinned, heavy set, thin with brownish blonde hair with dark roots, a young old person, bisexual, transgendered female, who is sometimes male, wearing a backwards cap, who looks like a white male.
