Time Text
Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
Hey, folks, how are you?
Great to have you here.
It's another exciting busy broadcast day here at the one and only Limboy Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
Great to have you here, the EIB Network 800 282882.
If you want to be on the program and the email address L Rush Vault EIBNet.com.
Look, this is a it's not a big deal, but we've had another good business development in our digital media business.
If you want to go to the app store, get the limbaugh letter, the digital version of Limbaugh Letter, we now accept Amex.
Uh in addition to Master Carter Visa.
We've always accepted Master Carter Visa.
We've now added American Express.
And that's it's some people only use American Express.
Uh the reason is the discipline.
You gotta pay it all off at the end of the month.
Whereas you can't, well, I think with American Express you can make a deal if you want, but for the most part, you pay it up.
Pay it off in 30 days, or else they send Ken Chenault after you.
And whoever else they can find.
So it's a good discipline thing.
And if you um and there's no interest in all that with the Amex card, so uh Limb it's buy now, pay now.
It's exactly, and that's the best way to live.
Buy now, pay now.
So the limbaug letter app at the iOS app store is now available also with the with the American Express card.
It's the most widely read political newsletter in the country, and just a few short months ago we digitized it and made it available, and we've been playing with notifications, by the way, with the Rush Limbaugh app.
Now we can we can buzz you with notifications for anything.
We could harass you with notifications.
We wouldn't want to do that because then you'd turn the notifications off.
Anyway, the drive by's folks are excited because it's possible that the College of Cardinals might elect an American Pope.
And that would signify that America is no longer the ruling nation of the world.
The reason why you ever some of you newly arrived low information people.
Now, I realize you you you very few of you admit to being low information vote until you stop and think about it.
But in one sense, you know who you are.
There's no shame in it.
Everybody has to start out somewhere.
Have you ever wondered why their UN secretary's never been an American?
Have you wondered why the UN secretary is always a minority of some kind?
It's because the U.S. is this evil dominating superpower that already runs the world.
And it would be an absolute disaster to have another American in charge of a world body.
That would be just over the top too much.
That means that we could jam freedom down everybody's throat.
That means that we could impose our horrible, ugly, racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobic way of life on everybody.
But we can't do that.
Because the powers that be would never put an American in charge.
It's the same way with a Pope.
The idea of an American Pope would be insulting to the rest of the world because we already run the rest of the world.
I mean, this is the thinking.
But now, somehow it's leaked out of there that an American Pope could be chosen.
Timothy Cardinal Dolan of New York is one of the American members of College of Cardinals is thought to be a possibility.
And the drive by's, you'll hear the soundbites coming up.
Drive by's all excited, because that means the American nation of the United States has lost status, and no longer a big, mean, dominating superpower.
And for that, we can thank Barack Obama.
Folks, I gotta tell you something.
It it astounds me, and these people are out there.
It astounds me That anyone who calls himself a conservative would have the slightest hesitation in arguing that we have to make every conceivable effort to repeal Obamacare.
There are conservatives.
Uh uh, oh, it's earlier.
I saw black smoke, I thought it was bright now, but it's earlier.
You believe that video tape of old smoke.
Look at how it sucked me in there.
I just happened to glance at a TV and a whoa, black smoke, no pumped it.
And then I said, nope, earlier.
They use chemicals in there.
They burn the ballots, is what creates the fire.
They burn the ballots, and then they add chemicals to make the smoke black or white, depending on what's called for.
Of course, if it's white, they have a new ill papa.
And if it's black, it means they failed to come to a consensus.
Which, of course, is not good.
Consensus, bipartisanship, all of these things that we hope for.
That's what they're looking for in the next election here at the Pope.
If it's blue smoke, that means that they've all just tossed their cigars in the fire and before they even burn the ballots.
So you got a possibility, blue smoke, black smoke, white smoke.
The ballots are the energy source.
They uh they're what burn.
Now there are conservatives in the media and elected, conservative Republicans, Republicans as well, who, and I mentioned this yesterday, who are suggesting that, well, you know, look, Obamacare's the law of the land.
And we're law abiding conservatives.
And it's no point in rolling this back or trying to repeal it.
It happened.
But every day we learn more and more about this program.
Every day we learn more and more about the absolute punitive oppression that is in this plan.
It's already unpopular.
Well over 50% of the American people don't want it.
It becomes more unpopular, seemingly with every passing revelation about its contents.
And there are a couple of new discoveries from The Corner, National Review Online by Gillian K. Melcher.
The president's health care law causes plenty of headaches for businesses and now grocery stores are the latest to worry about it.
In regards to compliance.
The health law mandates calorie counts in most restaurants and other food serving establishments.
Oh, yes, it does.
Health care.
A health care bill, which everybody thinks about making your premium cheaper and your access to coverage better.
Oh, yeah.
Obamacare mandates calorie counts.
In most restaurants and other food serving establishments, the AP has reported that the Food and Drug Administration is finding it extremely thorny to write the specific regulations.
Here's another thing.
Most of the regulations haven't yet been written.
Obamacare, even at 2,700 pages, is an open-ended piece of legislation that lets the Secretary of Health and Human Services and various bureaucracies write the regulations as we go.
That's why nobody really knows all that's in this bill and what's coming our way.
Eric Lieberman of the Food Marketing Institute, which represents retail grocery chains, has discovered something that's headed his ways is a huge problem for us.
Eric Lieberman, Food Marketing Institute, and again they represent retail grocery change chains, says that the rules could cover thousands of items in every grocery store, unlike restaurants, which typically have fewer Items on the menu.
And the rules could go beyond just the prepared foods case and extend to cut fruit bakery items like pies and loaves of bread and other store items that aren't already packaged and labeled.
You go into your neighborhood grocery store, you go into a public's and they've got their own bakery in there, where either their their chefs or outside third-party contractors bake stuff and bring it in.
That stuff's gonna have to be all labeled and calorie counted, and that means it's gonna have to be sent every item, folks, every item is going to have to be sent out to laboratories and tested for calorie counts.
Then there's the paperwork necessary to justify all of the ingredient and nutritional information that is claimed.
And believe me, I know about this.
I've had to go through this, I should say we have had to go through this at two of my tea.
And every bottle has to have a nutrition label on it, and the hoops that you have to go through to prove what you allege, so that the allegation is not an allegation, but actually a claim.
You say no calories in this, they've got to send out to a lab and be tested to prove that.
It has to be paperwork backup.
It is a logistical nightmare.
Imagine grocery stores are not going to do this for every item.
The PES dispenser.
Every item in the grocery store.
And this is why the FDA is finding it extremely thorny to write the specifics because the umbrella under which all this happens is that calorie counts have to be on everything sold, uh, if it's food.
Then after all that's done, after all the paperwork, after all the lab testing, after all the nutritional information for each item has been done, that has to be sent to the FDA.
Then they have to approve it.
And then after that's done, and only after that's done, do they though go then print the labels, which is called the signage.
Then they have to train the employees how to use it.
When Joe Schmaltz walks in and wants to argue about the calorie content on the PES dispenser.
Or maybe Joe Schmaltz doesn't want to argue about it, he just wants to know.
Let's say the PES dispenser says that there's 18 calories per PES.
And Joe Schmaltz doesn't believe it.
Or not buy it.
I mean, it's it's it's it's be unmanageable.
This is going to require brand new 24 hour a day, seven-day a week departments just to keep up with you.
No, the items in a grocery store are never just static.
They change constantly.
One day you might go in and be able to get a chocolate cake, the next day you want a white trash cake's not there, but the coconut is.
Every one of these items is going to have to be individually tested.
Now, the processed foods and the potato chips and stuff that you buy, that already is done, but I'm talking about all of the private label stuff.
And there's lots of it.
And this could lead to a reduction in availability.
It may get to the point where some of these grocery stores say, you know what, I don't have the time or the money to invest in documenting the calorie count of everything I've got just in the bakery alone.
Then you go to the cut fruit section.
Cut fruit, if they cut some fruit up, package it and sell it that way, got to have the nutrition information on it.
Convenience stores say they're going to have the same problem.
They're the same, and it's not going to be convenience anymore.
Now, this all happens.
This is all butting up against that judge ruling against Mayor Doomberg's soda ban, calling it arbitrary and capricious.
The same thing could be said about this rule, the calorie counting rule.
Now, my point here is how can any conservative coming across this story twiddle the thumbs it's the law of the land?
Doesn't have to be.
This hasn't been fully funded yet.
It certainly is worth the effort, but that's not the only story.
Here's an AP exclusive.
Applying, and this you knew.
Now, you knew, but I guarantee you, your average ordinary low information voter has no clue this is coming his way.
Your average ordinary Obama voter has no clue that this is coming.
In fact, I would venture to say your average ordinary low information voter Obama voter thinks this kind of stuff is being done away with Obamacare.
The AP has the exclusive, Ricardo Alonso Zaldevar, applying for benefits.
And look at how they word this here.
Applying for benefits under President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.
They're putting his name to this.
By the way, his approval numbers are the Washington Post with a story today, and they are troubled.
Barack is losing independence, he's losing women, and it's all about the economy.
People are fed up, dissatisfied, unhappy.
It's starting to happen.
Don't know if it's gonna have legs, but it is starting to happen to the point that the drive-bys can't avoid reporting it.
And like this AP story.
Two weeks ago, this story would not have had Obama's name in it.
Applying for benefits under the new healthcore health care overhaul is how it would have been written.
But here is the news.
Applying for benefits under President Barack Obama's health care overhaul could be as daunting as doing your taxes.
The government's draft application is now on the internet, meaning the blank form that is a sample of what we all are gonna have to do.
It's fifteen pages for a three-person family.
A fifteen-page form to apply for Obamacare.
The online version, this draft application, has twenty-one steps, some with added questions.
At least three major federal agencies, including the IRS, will scrutinize your application after you have filled it out.
And that's just part of the process.
Which lets you know if you qualify.
This fifteen-page form is your first step in determining whether or not you qualify for Obamacare.
Now I'll bet some of you low information, but what do you mean qualify?
I thought it was free for everybody.
Uh-uh, uh it might have been sold that way, and you might have uh inferred that, but no, no, no.
You have a 15-page, 21-step form to fill out that is your application to see if you qualify.
Then after you've done all that, you still have to choose a health plan.
Some people fear that consumers will be overwhelmed and just give up.
Regime officials say the application form is being refined.
Still the idea that picking a health insurance plan could be as simple as shopping on the internet starting to look like wishful thinking.
Starting this out there burns me up.
We've known this.
We have all known that's what this bill was going to be.
The AP has known what this is gonna be long before now.
They could have reported it.
So while the country was busy watching Moochell hand out Oscars, Obama's bureaucrats are busy making our lives miserable.
You know, stop and think these calorie counts are gonna have their greatest impact on the so-called fresh food section at your grocery store.
Or the what are they what are they the organic?
I mean, that's the stuff that just arrived yesterday, right?
I mean, how are they going to count?
How are they going to get these calorie counts for this?
And folks, this this is this is not all.
Now this 15-page form, 21 steps just to apply, just to see if you qualify.
And it appears that even there's going to be an increase because of Obamacare in the price you pay at the veterinarian's office.
And he said, how can that be?
I know that's all these studies that people ignore the calorie counts.
They don't care.
If calorie counts were going to stop anybody, it would have knocked McDonald's out of business by now.
It's not going to stop.
It's pointless.
It's worthless.
Anyway, I got to take a quick time out.
The vet news coming up.
Ill Rush both serving humanity simply by showing up.
Now the AP, folks.
Ricardo and Alonzo Zalivar, still the idea that picking a health insurance plan could be as simple as shopping in the internet, starting to look like wishful thinking, some fear that consumers will be overwhelmed and give up.
They've known this.
You and I, because we deal with bureaucracy, we we all the time, we know what this was going to be.
And the AP has known this.
This idea that this is some sort of exclusive, that dealing with a bureaucracy for health care isn't going to be easy.
All of a sudden they're just now learning this bunk.
They knew this back during the campaign.
They've known this all during the fight to pass this monstrosity, and they didn't report it.
None of the negatives about this, none of the things that would have killed this legislation, because the American people don't want any part of it.
Now the vet news, it's not new either.
We reported to you back toward the end of last year about the possibility that the tax on medical devices would impact those of you, some of you going to the vet to take the pet to the pet doctor.
And the Heritage Foundation had a story back on December 7th of Pearl Harbor Day.
Obamacare may hike your pets' health care bills.
CBS Miami has the exclusive.
And this again, this has been known.
Now, oh good point.
I checked the email during the break.
And then detecting more and more mail, by the way, from subscribers to the website from people who are low information voters.
And there were a couple of people, Rush, well, does Obama know about this?
Realize how frequently that question is asked.
You remember back during the Van Jones controversy when it's discovered Obama had this actual communist sympathizer working in his administration, Van Jones.
He was the green climate outreach guy sometime.
I've not sure what he was.
Anyway, when it was discovered who he was, the pressure was brought to bear, the regime asked him to leave, and he's now over at CNN doing the same thing.
And people back then said, gee, how did that get past Obama?
How did Obama know?
And of course we said back then, not only did Obama no, Obama chose him.
All of these people are Obama.
Now, for you low information people on this thing like the 15-page tax form-like application to see if you qualify for Obamacare.
I imagine some of you were saying, well, it's 2700 pages Obama, no.
The correct answer to that is he doesn't care about the details of this.
All Obama cares about is that one sixth of the U.S. economy has been transferred to government control.
The daily machinations of this and how it's all gonna shake out and how it's gonna affect people.
He couldn't care less.
He's not a detailed guy in that regard.
The only way he's gonna react is if there is an uprising over this, and then he'll act like he didn't know and act like he cares, and he'll maybe make some move to make it look like he's trying to do something about it, but nothing will change.
The optics will will be the opposite of that, of course, but nothing's really gonna change.
But does does Obama know?
It's his bill.
This is the kind of stuff he believes in.
This is not about free health care for people.
This is not about making sure the poor, the disadvantaged or middle class people who can't afford it have health care.
It's never been about that for Obama.
It's about the government running it.
Once the government has control over your health care, they control every aspect of your life.
And as important as health care is to everybody, if the government says you gotta do A, B, and C in order to get health care, you'll do it.
You'll be too scared not to.
Health care has always been nationalized health care has always been one of the first objectives of any of the famous totalitarian regimes.
Hitler, national socialism, first thing he did, nationwide health care.
The socialists in the UK, nationwide health care.
It's the it's it you get that and you control everything about how people live.
You you and that's what this is.
So these details of 15-page forms is Obama no.
How'd that get past Obama?
He doesn't care.
He doesn't have a problem with it anyway.
Government is great, government's good, government's infallible.
Obama and guys like Michael Dukakis, they love this process stuff, folks.
They love the whole process, the government being involved in everything, and they've they they believe that nothing can ever succeed or be accomplished or be any good if the government isn't involved.
Now, the veterinarian stuff.
Again, we reported this late last year.
It's been reported today, actually yesterday, but the media said it's brand new stuff.
But they've known this too.
Pet owners, you may want to start saving more money for veterinarian care this year.
The reason goes all the way back to Washington and an unintended consequence of Obamacare.
Dog owner Laurie Heiselman was surprised where her veterinarian posted a warning on Facebook.
The notice read, because medical equipment and supplies will be going up in cost, that extra expense will have to be passed on to my customers.
So she's already tightening her belt to pay for the increase in the care for her dog.
She doesn't like it, but she's willing to pay it for her pets because they're very important.
They're members of her family.
So why the increase?
Well, it it goes it traces back, folks, to this new 2.3% federal excise tax on certain medical devices that just went into effect, but that everybody in the drive-by media has long known of.
The tax will help fundacare, intended for people, not pets.
Manufacturers of the devices pay the tax.
But a recent survey found that more than half plan to pass the cost along.
No, you're kidding.
You mean those businesses aren't just gonna eat it?
That's right.
The manufacturers are gonna pass the 2.3% excise tax on to you.
As every business tax is passed on to you.
You're the end user.
You pay all the taxes that happen incrementally.
They're all built into the price of everything.
Some veterinarians, by the way, are saying now they can't afford to pay this tax.
Dr. Mike Hatcher is one of them.
He said, I'm extremely concerned how this is going to be a hidden tax to our consumers that is going to be passed on.
So how does this work?
Well, medical devices used only on animals are exempt.
But however, items including IV pumps, sterile scalpels, anesthesia equipment, which are medical devices that have a dual use, will be taxed.
So if your pooch needs an IV, if your cat needs an IV, the doctor's gonna have to pay a 2.3% excise tax when he buys that equipment.
If he's a vet, and it gets passed on to Oh, look at that.
Oh, there's a there's oh it's uh it the seagull of hope is is is landed on top of the papal smokestack.
Oh I don't know what it means.
So I just it I we must take a break to consider this.
So uh my point in in all of this, actually two points.
The media, ladies and has known all of these things that they are just now discovering.
They could have reported this back when it mattered.
What's the point in telling people now when they can't do anything about it other than get ticked off, which we need.
The second point is how can, with with these revelations of people that don't know this stuff, how can any conservative sit there and just say, well, it's the law of the land and nothing we can do about it.
They won the election and they get to do what they want to do.
Where's the fight?
Where's the principle?
Where is the effort at least?
Interesting audio sound bites here.
If I put together a timeline here, when I announced the limbaugh theorem, that was February 13th.
Folks, I could make the case, and if there's anybody who would make the case, it would be me.
I could make the case that my announcement of the limbaugh theorem, how it is that Obama is never governing, never seen as governing, constantly campaigning, always opposing everything that's going wrong, always trying to fix it when in fact he's the architect.
How people say they hate the direction the country's going and they don't like Obama's agenda, but they approve of the job he's doing.
How can that happen?
And it was I L. Rushball, who finally had a light go off in my head and understood it.
People don't associate his agenda with what's happening in the country because he is not seen as anything with the celebrity of the United States.
Yeah, he's the president, but he's seen as fighting all these evil things that have happened before he got there, deeply embedded, and and he's working really hard.
He promised he wouldn't raise deficit, but and he didn't.
It's a Republicans that have been doing it.
This is the way people have been looking at it.
I can trace Obama's approval numbers beginning to fall to February 13th with the announcement of the Limbaugh Theorem, and then everybody in the media started picking up on the perpetual campaign, which was, I mean, that's the primary ingredient of the limbaugh theorem.
The perpetual Obama campaign.
Now they're asking him about organizing for action, which is simply a rename of his campaign website organized for America.
They're still raising money for it.
So I I can I could make the case that it was the bold announcement of the Limbaugh Theorem, the constant campaign everybody picked up that began the slide and Obama's approval numbers.
However, as is always the case, it wasn't just one person, it wasn't just me, there were many others that got in gear.
Back on March the 5th, eight days ago, House Appropriations Committee subcommittee hearing, Centers for Disease Control Director Thomas Friedan testified about the impact sequester cuts will have on health care.
Now this is fascinating.
The Republican questioning him is Andy Harris, who is a Republican from I I think Baltimore.
Doesn't matter.
I think he's Baltimore.
But regardless, Andy Harris, a doctor, a Republican questioning the guy heading up the CDC.
The White House put out a completely fraudulent number about vaccinations and diseases and kids that wouldn't be treated if the sequester happened.
And this Republican called them on it.
Here's how it went.
I'm going to read their quote about vaccines for children.
It says in Maryland, about 2,050 fewer children will receive vaccines due to reduced funding for vaccinations of about $140,000.
The CDC assist the White House in preparing that estimate.
You, as the director don't know if you assisted the White House in preparing an estimate that was distributed to every member of Congress.
I don't know what the White House number would I don't know.
I don't know.
But the White House said that 2050, fewer children would receive vaccines due to reduced funding in the sequester.
So then Andy Harris said, well, let's forget the number.
Let's forget the idea of how vaccines for children are going to be affected by the sequester.
Is this the vaccine for children program?
Which program is it?
Is it 317?
What did the president's budget do to 317?
The President's prospective budget for 2013.
The precise numbers I would have to hear about the 58 million cut sound familiar?
Yes.
And what was the sequester cut?
Again, the presentation does 30 million sound familiar.
I would think that's the same.
You think that's around the ballpark, isn't it?
So actually, the president cut the program twice as much in his budget.
Can I assume that the president's proposed cut would have reduced funding to 4,100 children in Maryland?
What is happen what's happening here is that the regime put out this number that with the sequester, 2,000 kids would no longer get vaccines.
The sequester cuts were 30 billion dollars.
Obama had a budget presented where he cut 58 million, almost twice as much in his budget from this program, the vaccination program, and Obama assured everybody that there wouldn't be one kid shortchanged on vaccination, that there was plenty of room.
We could cut 60 million, 58 million from the vaccine program, and no kid would be affected.
After saying that in his budget, they went out and said a $30 million that the sequester's cutting is going to eliminate vaccines for 2000.
And this Congressman Andy Harris caught him on it.
So this is the next aspect of the conversation.
As per the justification that was published with that, we've looked at ways that we can run the program more efficiently by helping uh state and local health departments recoup dollars, for example, for insured patients.
And you can't do that under a sequester, but you can do it under the president's budget.
Is that my understanding of your testimony today?
And Mr. Friedan, Dr. Thomas Friedan of the CDC, Centers for Disease Control, so I'll have to get back to you on that.
So here's the bottom line.
The President put out a budget this year.
Well, it's 2013 budget that contained a cut of 58 million dollars in the child vaccination program of the CDC.
And he assured everybody that there would be no reductions in children vaccines.
Sequester comes along.
Sequester features a 30 million cut.
Not 58 million, 30 million dollar cut in the child vaccination program.
The regime says 20 or 2030 to but 2100 kids are gonna not get vaccinated.
And Andy Harris, MD, caught this and he asked the CDC, wait a minute now.
The president could cut 58 million and nothing happens to vaccines.
Sequester cuts 30 million and 2,000 kids don't get vaccinated.
How does that work?
Oh, I have to get back to you on that.
What it illustrates Is that this whole sequester, fear mongering, crisis mongering is nothing but a pack of falsehoods.
And that everybody in the regime is coordinating on this.
Fifty-eight million dollars in cuts to CDC would have no impact on child vaccinations when Obama did it.
The $30 million cut due to the sequester, and 2,100 kids don't get vaccinated.
They just made it up.
They just lied about it, folks.
And that is happening throughout the sequester argument.
Export Selection
