No, everything's okay.
I'm just having a little bit of trouble with the potentiometer.
And I just can't, I can't get it set at a consistent level where it will maintain itself.
No, the potentiometer, the volume control.
Sorry.
Hi, folks, welcome back.
El Rushbo here.
Fastest three hours in media.
And what is known as the Excellence in Broadcasting Network?
I'll tell you, this story about the prisoner release, it was out all day.
It's been in the news all day.
Here we make a big deal of it.
And in less than an hour, the White House puts out a denial.
But it's even better than what I originally thought.
Here is the actual denial of any involvement from the spokeskid, Jay Carney.
Here's what he said in the White House press secretary.
He said, quote, this was a decision to release these prisoners, this illegal, 30,000 of them, illegal alien prisoners.
This was a decision made by career officials at ICE without any input from the White House as a result of fiscal uncertainty over the continuing resolution as well as possible sequestration.
So it wasn't even big sis.
It wasn't even Napolitano.
It was career officials at ICE.
And it wasn't just about the sequester.
It was about the continuing resolution.
That doesn't expire till the end of March.
And it's only February 27th.
So that's why the prisoners were, Obama didn't know anything about it.
A bunch of career bureaucrats did it.
And what Carney tried to say was that there's so much panic in the bureaucracies over the upcoming spending cuts, these massive spending cuts, that they're panicking practically.
And they're doing things that nobody is aware of until they do them.
Man, I mean, the lengths to which they are now going to try to convince people that Barack Obama has literally no association with this government whatsoever is stunning.
He literally has no connection to actions taken by this government at all.
I'm telling you, Castro wouldn't put up with this.
If there were bureaucrats doing things on their own, freelancers like this, they would be in jail.
Castro put them in prison.
So would have Nikolai Chalichescu.
So would have Saddam Hussein.
You don't have dictators when they're bureaucrats running around making moves like this.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
No, I did not say Obama's a dictator.
I was talking about those other guys.
But I'm telling you that this is profound.
This is stunning.
The lengths to which they will go to dissociate Barack Obama from anything this government does knows no boundaries.
There are no limits.
It wasn't Napolitano.
It wasn't Obama.
It was career officials at ICE.
And they're not just worried about the sequester.
They're worried about the continuing resolution.
That's the government shutdown at the end of March.
That's not even going to happen for a month.
The bottom line is there's no release and to let people, no reason whatsoever to let people out of jail.
Even if the sequester happens, we're not talking about enough money to have this happen.
There is no reason on earth, no fiscal, no budgetary reason.
There are obviously reasons why these prisoners have been released.
I think one of the reasons is how the hell are we going to round them back up now?
They're not on leashes.
I bet they don't all have electronic tracking devices.
What are we going to do?
Okay, look, we got our budget now, so you guys come back.
Is that what they're going to do?
Organizing for action, the Obama website will put out a PSA.
All of you released illegal alien prisoners.
It's time now to return to jail.
They're out there now.
And that's not bad as far as Obama's concerned either.
Chaos and Havoc made order.
Jay Carney also claimed that the prisoners that have been released are low-risk non-criminal detainees.
How does he even know?
It was the ICE people, the bureaucrats that did it.
How does he even know who was released?
The New York Times says that they were hardened criminals.
The New York Times reported that one of these detainees released had been convicted for assault and battery and child abuse and violating probation in Jamaica.
That's just one of them that the New York Times found.
Is Carney saying child abuse is nothing?
By the way, you know why they did the Rosa Parks statue dedication today?
You know what else is going on today in Washington?
No, it's not before the sequester.
It's because the Supreme Court is discussing the Voting Rights Act in the South today.
You know, this is another thing.
I'm not a high information guy on everything.
There are certain things I am low information on.
I do not understand.
This Voting Rights Act goes back to 1964.
I can't believe that we still haven't fixed the problems with voting that we had back in 1964.
And I don't believe that we haven't.
I think what we have is a bunch of people muckraking, filing lawsuits over it.
We're not preventing anybody from voting.
What did I read the other day?
Some woman in Chicago voted for Obama six times.
The Voting Rights Act, the idea that there are powerful Democrats with dogs and water hoses keeping African Americans.
Who believes this anymore?
I guess some conservative justices like Scalia might actually believe that the South doesn't need to be overseen by the federal government to stop them from denying blacks the vote because that's what the case is.
I frankly, I think it's bogus.
The Voting Rights Act is still being violated.
That act goes back 50 years.
Anyway, that's why they had the Rosa Park statue dedication today because it all ties in with that Supreme Court case that's the oral arguments and things going on today.
Something is happening with it.
So if the uncertainty over the continuing resolution causes prisoners to be released, you know, maybe the Democrats should offer a real budget.
You think maybe that might be a solution?
We haven't had a real budget in four years.
And if bureaucrats are panicking over the continuing resolution expiring in one month and releasing prisoners, maybe if the Democrats would get in gear and get a budget in the Senate, then maybe we wouldn't have to go through any of this.
What if some career officials running Obamacare decide to start killing off old people and don't tell anybody about it?
You see where this is going?
Obama is setting it up that career bureaucrats can engage in all kinds of stuff that he doesn't know about until he reads it in the newspaper.
And sad to say, there will be low-information voters who believe that.
Speaking of this sequester business, try this.
The Associated Press has a story that says Americans are not even paying attention to the sequester.
They've done polling on it, and nobody cares.
Nobody's paying attention to it.
President Obama is pulling out all the stops to warn just what could happen if automatic budget cuts kick in.
Americans are reacting with a collective yawn.
They know the shtick.
Obama raises the alarm.
Democrats and Republicans accuse each other of holding a deal hostage.
There's a lot of yelling on cable news.
And finally, when everybody's made their points, a deal is struck and the day is saved.
Well, maybe not this time, says the AP.
Two days before the $85 billion in cuts are set to hit, it's not $85 billion.
Anyway, there are no signs that the White House and the Republicans in Congress are even negotiating.
And that's the big deal to the drive-bys.
There are no talks.
And that's why they're panicking.
F. Chuck said it the other day.
F. Chuck Todd said yesterday.
We had to sound by that.
I just didn't get to it.
F. Chuck said, they're not even talking.
And it was reason to panic because there were no negotiations.
And if there aren't any negotiations, they can't stop it.
And if sequester happens, oh my God, oh my God.
Oh, my God.
We don't even want to contemplate it.
But the fact of the matter is, only one in four Americans is following the sequester closely.
Now, you know what's odd about this, folks?
The sequester's big news in the drive-by media.
It's practically all they're talking about.
And only 25% of the American people are following it.
Yet, the fiscal Cliff deal, 75% of the American people followed that toward the end of the year when supposedly nobody is paying attention to the news.
It's the week between Christmas and New Year's.
Nobody's paying attention to anything then.
They're all in holiday vacation mode.
And AP is telling us that back then, 75, 80% of the people were really invested in the fiscal cliff deal.
And now the sequester, one in four care about it.
And most people, yeah, that's another, most people think it's not going to affect them.
The reason why they're not paying attention is that most people don't believe that they're going to be financially impacted.
They're not going to be hurt financially as a result of the sequester.
Now, I have to tell you, the Obama regime people looking at that cannot be happy because the whole point of their argument about the sequester is that everybody's going to get hurt.
No doctors, no firefighters, no first responders, no teachers, no aircraft carriers, no research and development, no drugs, no nothing.
Screwed up airlines.
I mean, it's all going to go south.
Everything's going to fall apart.
That's what the regime's message has been.
Everybody's life is going to come to a screeching halt because the government's going to come to a screeching halt.
And nobody's paying attention.
Only 25% of people are paying attention, and those think that it ain't going to affect them when all Obama is doing is campaigning about how everybody's going to be affected.
Everybody's going to get hurt.
Nobody is going to benefit.
They can't be pleased with this.
That means Obama's messaging isn't getting through if we are to believe any of this.
And how about AP writing this?
The American people know the shtick.
Obama raises the alarm.
Democrats and Republicans accuse each other of holding a deal hostage.
There's a lot of yelling on cable news.
And then a deal is struck.
And the day is saved.
The AP says that's what everybody thinks is going to happen.
Well, if that's true, what that means is that everybody knows the way the game's play that they don't care.
What that means is that nobody, 75% anyway, have not been ratcheted up into crisis mode, which means Obama's not getting his message out.
Which could mean, believe me, the left knows this.
If all this is true, they read this like you and I do.
If they think their message isn't getting out, they're going to panic.
Now, you may have heard Keith Ellison, Democrat from Minnesota, literally went banshee on Hannity last night.
He just lost it.
Started accusing Hannity of all kinds.
It's just lost it.
Did not at all have, was not exuding or exhibiting an attitude of people who are winning at all.
And at first Blanche, you know, I heard about it.
I didn't see it, but I've read about it now.
And I, why?
What caused Ellison to go nuts last night?
I had no idea why.
Maybe, and I'm just throwing it up against the wall here.
Maybe it sticks.
Maybe Ellison went nuts last night because this stuff isn't working.
The American people don't think they're headed to a crisis.
The American people don't think the government shutting down is going to ruin their life.
They've thrown everything they've got into this sequester argument, and it's been 24-7.
Now you've got this AP poll.
Only 25% of people care.
Most people don't think it's going to affect them one way or the other.
I'm just a wild guess, but everybody's trying to figure out why Keith Ellison literally went bonkers last night on Hannity.
Hannity eventually had to get rid of him.
He said, look, I can't subject my audience to you anymore.
You're just over the top here.
He is insulting Hannity and all kinds of right-wingers and stuff.
So, I don't know.
Maybe the libs think they're losing this stuff.
Folks, I know that doesn't seem possible, but this is a real, this is a real odd collection of stories.
Prisoner release.
Obama said, I didn't know about it.
Jay Carney says, we didn't know about it.
Janet Napolitano didn't know about it.
A bunch of bureaucrats at ICE did it, and they're worried about the sequester and the continuing resolution stopping.
And nobody cares about any of this.
The buck never got here.
Clinton, Bill Clinton, you know, Harry Truman said the buck stops here.
The buck never got here.
I couldn't stop.
I couldn't take any blame other than it never got here.
I had nothing to do with anything.
Anyway, my friends, a brief obscene profit time out here at the EIB network, and we will resume.
We'll be back.
Getting your phone calls after this, so don't go away.
Okay, back to the phones, and we go to Ashburg, Virginia.
This is Renee.
Renee, thanks, and welcome to the program.
Hi, Rush.
Love the show.
Wanted to tell you.
I appreciate that.
Thank you.
I've got some interesting information for you.
My husband is part of the intelligence community in the Department of Defense.
About a week ago, we get a letter from his senior executives and basically telling my family, which my husband's employed several times.
He's done so much for our country, to get our finances in order.
This is unbelievable, Rush.
Now, wait, wait, wait.
Is your husband a contractor or a government employee?
Government employee.
Yep.
Rush, this is crazy.
Okay, wait a minute now.
He's a government employee, and they called you and get your finances in order.
No, no, no, no, no.
We got a letter.
It was heartbreaking to change.
You got a letter saying to get your finances in order, meaning what?
But, you know, I don't know.
What does that mean?
I mean, we're already our finances, you know, I mean, everything's ridiculous.
And we got it from, I believe, the senior executives.
You know, he warned all the guys that this is going to happen.
I mean, they're playing a game with our life.
This is unbelievable.
I mean, my husband's deployed to, you know, not so many friendly places here.
And, you know, we busted our hump for everything we have, and this is the thanks we get.
This is ridiculous.
I mean, we have so many good friends in the Intel, Department of Defense.
This is crazy.
And the note had said exactly this, from April 1st to October 1st, it will be 22 weeks, one paycheck a week, no pay.
So I had said, well, honey, can you use some of your vacation pay?
Absolutely not.
We are out a week of pay for six months, Rush, if this goes through.
Okay, so they did give you details.
Oh, they gave us details, all right.
And it kills me because I'm watching TV last night, and I'm listening to the Attorney General, all these people, and bottom line asked him, you know, well, will our country be less safe?
And he said, absolutely.
And it is, it's truly, I'm still trying to understand what's happening to you.
When you say you're going to lose a paycheck, does that mean one a month, one for the six months?
22 weeks, one day a week, no pay.
Okay, one day a week.
Yep.
You'll be nuts.
It's not for six months, Rush.
So for six months, you're going to get paid, but only for four days a week.
Absolutely.
Okay.
And it's just not us.
This is, I mean, you know, and the problem is, you know, you're dealing with some pretty good people here.
The problem is nobody's saying anybody.
And, you know, this is just like, people, we've got to start speaking up here.
And whether this does or does not.
Your husband, your husband is one of the 800,000 that Panetta was talking about who are going to be furloughed.
Now, when we first heard this, we assumed people like your husband were being totally furloughed, meaning let go.
It turns out you're being paid for four days a week.
But here's the thing, Rush.
I don't even know what's going on.
Congress is on vacation last week.
This is our life.
Who knows?
It could change.
What's going on is that you are pawns of the current administration as they attempt to light fires of fear in as many people as possible over the fact that there's going to be $22 billion cut from a defense budget of a trillion dollars.
$22 billion is causing all of this.
I was listening to you.
Leesburg is 15 minutes from here.
They're cutting already private sector.
No, because they're trying to convince everybody that government is everything in your life.
And we're back.
Rushland Bull, great to have you here.
I need to make a correction.
I misspoke when I said that 75% of the American people were concerned or paying attention to the fiscal cliff at the end of the year.
It was 40%, according to the Hughes Center for People to Press.
40% were interested in the fiscal cliff and the outcome.
And it's only 25% paying attention to the sequester.
But the real news in that poll is that most people don't think any of this is going to affect them.
Now, stop and think of it.
You've got Obama out there telling everybody that the sun's not going to come up on March the 1st.
The sun isn't going to come up.
The sky isn't going to be blue.
The birds aren't going to be chirping.
And nobody thinks they're going to be impacted by this.
I don't want to read too much into any of this.
I'm just trying to understand why the libs are so damn mad.
They're winning everything.
And yet they're fit to be tied out there.
They're becoming even more arrogant and condescending and angry and egregious on every cable network where there are liberals.
And as far as you and I are concerned, they're getting everything they want.
They're winning everything.
And they don't have any opposition.
And Obama's not being called on anything.
And yet they're mad and they're getting angrier.
Now, I know they always are perpetually angry.
And they're not happy.
But this, and I could be misreading it too, but something strange is going on.
And this little poll here that most people are unaffected, think they're not going to be affected, while Obama is telling them the sun isn't going to come up.
That cannot be received well in the White House.
And I'll tell you this, too, with Bob Woodward out there saying that what Obama's doing is madness, I guarantee you that's not going over well either.
Madness is a mental condition.
This is sheer.
Woodward said there's no reason for any of this, and there isn't.
And maybe that one of the reasons why Obama is over the top every day on all of these disasters that are going to happen is they've got polling data themselves.
It says the American people aren't buying it.
And then you've got the AP writing a story that says the American people know the drill.
Panic, panic, panic, followed by agreement, and everything's fine.
Now, one other thing.
I get a couple emails every day.
Why aren't you talking about Chris Christie and Medicaid?
Folks, the reason I'm not talking about Chris Christie and Medicaid or Chris Christie and CPAC is because, A, it doesn't interest me.
And B, the reason it doesn't is because it doesn't surprise me.
It just doesn't.
Rick Scott surprised me.
Bob McDonnell surprised me in caving to Obamacare and expanding Medicaid, basically saying, yeah, we'll set up exchanges and we'll assume the Medicaid responsibility.
Christie didn't surprise me.
Not after the photo op with Obama and all that stuff after the hurricane.
Didn't surprise me.
So that's why.
And the CPAC stuff, they rescinded his invitation because he doesn't appear to have a future in the Republican Party.
Now, I don't know about that.
He may go third party.
Who the heck knows?
But I've always told you, I only talk about things that interest me here or that intrigue me.
And that doesn't because it doesn't surprise me.
I'm sorry.
No, Christy's not off the radar.
I'm just saying that what he did there with accepting Obamacare for crying out loud.
He's been Obama's his new best bud, okay?
So I'm just, it doesn't surprise me.
That's all.
Here's Bill in Cincinnati.
I'm glad you waited, Bill.
Great to have you on the program.
Hi.
Hey, Rush, Megha Dittos from Cincinnati, where if you're a Democratic poll worker, you can vote six times.
There you go, Cincinnati.
I knew it was somewhere.
Yeah.
Hey, Rush, you talked about Obama not knowing about Benghazi.
He supposedly doesn't know about the prison release, and he can't speak without a telestrator.
So the question has to be, what does this guy know?
So, but among these 30,000 low-priority illegal aliens that Obama is releasing from jail, some of these people are going to commit crimes, Rush, and some are going to commit violent crimes.
And God forbid, some of those be rapes or murders.
And Obama and the media are going to blame the Republicans for that rush when these people wind up committing crimes.
Well, it's going to be, they're going to try.
The problem is that Jay Carney actually said today that the people that authorized the release were these bureaucrats at ICE.
Now, I know what you're saying.
You're saying that the Republicans will ultimately be blamed because they're the ones that made the bureaucrats nervous because of budget cuts.
Right.
And sadly, that's where we are.
We've got a president who is totally disconnected from the government.
We have a president who is totally disconnected from anything happening in the country.
He has nothing to do with it.
It's amazing, folks.
He's into his fifth year, and it's like he hasn't been elected yet.
He's still campaigning for the job.
He's still running against these mythical, powerful forces who are causing a lot of pain for you.
I think I've got an idea how to get to these low-information voters, Rush.
Tell me, because I don't know that I can tell me.
All right.
Obama's constantly campaigning.
There's always constant puff pieces, whether it's the Oscars or ESPN or Super Bowl interview.
There's no negative pieces on Saturday Night Live or Leno or Letterman, and definitely no negative news stories.
I think the Republicans need to, in a way, do constant campaigning on their own, but the low-information voters have low attention spans, so do it in the form of commercials and not where you're promoting a candidate, but where you're explaining in very simple, easy-to-understand terms about the national debt or important news stories or taxes or the sequester.
And you're running commercials on shows that they will watch, but you're doing it year-round.
This is actually a good idea.
And I don't want to take your thunder, but I have heard this suggested from some people.
I don't remember who, but it is an excellent idea because that's what Obama's running ads year-round.
The Democrats run ads.
The union people are running ads year-round.
The Democrat interest groups, they're running ads year-round.
And we don't.
We don't run ads.
And when we do run ads, we boy, Obama is a really nice guy, just in over his head, and we're going to put the country back together.
And the next ad you see is how Romney doesn't care that some guy's wife died with cancer.
So I think that that is a good idea.
I think it's one way of going about this.
You buy ads.
The ads have to be put together, right?
You got to have somebody that knows what the purpose of them is.
You have to have a campaign.
There has to be an objective here and a way of going about it.
Then you make the ad buys within certain shows.
Well, you know, they get to work.
Well, no, no, no.
Sterling, you're saying this current copper Republicans couldn't do it.
That's not what I'm talking about.
The idea is a good idea.
If you could have the right people put it together, if those people existed, it is a good idea.
I mean, that's, you know, and you get a bunch of ads running on websites.
A lot of low-information voters happen to watch TV on the internet now because cable's too expensive.
Big corporations run cable.
So there's, and you know, you get these ads on Facebook and Twitter.
And those are all Obama organizations, by the way.
They could ban the ads if they're too pointed against Obama.
But I like the idea.
I do.
We live in an advertising marketing world.
We do.
I appreciate that, Bill.
Thanks much.
Another brief break here, folks, but we are coming back.
Don't go away.
By the way, on the prisoner release, the illegal alien prisoner release, Michael McCall is a Republican congressman from Texas, San Antonio.
He sent a letter.
I actually think it might be a different district now.
Anyway, he sent a letter because it's his committee.
He's chairman of Homeland Security Committee of the House.
And McCall sent a letter to the director at ICE, a guy named John Morton, demanding details about the release of these illegal immigrants from the jails, which McCall said is an illegal act, which it is.
And McCall pointed out in his letter to the ICE director that Congress mandated and provided resources to maintain 34,000 bed spaces for illegal immigrant detainees.
ICE is only reporting 30,773 of those 34,000 filled.
They've got 3,000 unfilled beds, so what's the problem?
That was his letter.
There's no reason for you guys to be releasing anybody because of overcrowded.
You've got 3,000 unused beds.
So you've got budget that you're not using yet.
There's no reason for the prisoner release.
And don't believe for a minute that Obama doesn't know anything about this.
And don't believe for a minute that Big Sist doesn't know any about it.
One more thing here.
I've been thinking about why are they increasingly angry?
And I've already answered it.
And I don't think it's because they think they're losing.
I think that's their strategy.
It's their campaign.
Anger and rage is part of the leftist appeal.
That's how Sodomayor and Michelle Obama in college, angry, atraged.
That's how they got where they wanted to go.
The left is perpetually angry.
It's part of the campaign.
It's part of not governing or the perception of not governing.
Being angry at what's happening in the country right now is a way of distancing yourself from it, actually.
So the increased anger level is an illusion.
Keith Ellison on TV last night or whoever, the increased anger level on the part of the Democrats is all part of the illusion to make it look like there are things happening out of their control that have them really ticked off that they're trying to fix.
When the truth is, they are in control and are making those things happen.
That's what's going on.
It's an illusion.
It's the prestige in a Magic Act.
These guys are actually making it look like things are getting worse in this country, and they're trying to stop it, and they're fighting, and they're getting angry at who?
Us, the conservatives, Republicans.
When the truth is, they're the ones in charge in making this happen.
It's manipulation.
They're creating a false reality that they are not part of.
They're outside of it trying to stop it, fix it.
I mean, it's a massive game of manipulation they're playing.
Back after this.
Don't go away.
That's it, folks.
Sadly, we are out of precious and busy broadcast moments and minutes.
But there are more.
Three hours worth of them tomorrow.
And we'll start those in 21 hours.
Export Selection
