I just want to say, if you are out there and on the phone, if you're on hold to be on this program, I am asking you to be patient.
Hang in there, be tough.
I'm gonna get to you.
I promise.
We are just loaded.
I'm I'm I'm feeling overwhelmed here.
It's one of those days where I think I've got to speak three times faster than normal to get it all in.
And I really don't, but so I'm trying to dial it back.
But I've got all this stuff, and I would just like to be able to tell it all to you at once.
And I it's just it's not possible.
It's it's hard to decide what's next.
It seems like everything ought to be first.
And that's where we are today.
It's uh Rush Limbaugh, the EIB network at the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
The telephone number is 800 28282.
Uh folks, you know, what is paramount obvious to me, here's Obama, gets back from his vacation, and immediately, with with no provocation, by the way.
There isn't anybody outside of Jeff Sessions, maybe, but Jeff Sessions isn't really either.
There's nobody on the Republican side trying to pick a fight with Obama.
Nobody's insulting him.
Nobody on the Republican side is doing anything other than mild mild even in by political standards, criticism.
But Obama is acting like everybody on the Republican side is insulting his mother, his wife, his kids, and him.
And this isn't happening.
He's not being insulted.
He's not being mistreated.
He's not being disrespected, and yet he's lashing out.
I'm telling you, he doesn't have the courage to lead.
That's what it appears to me.
He doesn't have the courage, because I don't think he thinks he needs to.
He is succeeding beyond his wildest dreams.
And at the same time, he is accomplishing one of the primary objectives that he's had as a politician since he got into the business, and that is eliminating all opposition.
He's not interested in compromise.
He says he's sitting there, his doors open, he's waiting for the phone to ring.
The Republicans say they're hoping the president calls.
GOP senators waiting for President Obama's outreach.
He's not gonna reach out to them.
He's in the process of destroying them.
This episode today at the old executive office bill, the Eisenhower Executive Office Building is stunning to me when you get right down to it.
I mean, it's who Obama is, but without any provocation.
Well, if I didn't know better, I would think this three-day vacation of his was miserable.
And he's ticked off, he's come back and he's in a foul humor because he has lashed out at these Republicans and they haven't done anything but practically try to be as nice to him as they know how to be.
And yet, you heard the demonization.
This is not just criticism.
He is impugning their honor, their integrity, their character, their reputations.
He's now gone further than saying Mitt Romney didn't care that some guy's wife got cancer.
Obama today said the entire Republican Party doesn't care if you get cancer.
During the campaign, there were ads that Obama ran that that Romney didn't care.
Some guy's wife got cancer, had a business that Bain Capitol once ran.
But today Obama went out and said Republicans don't care if every one of you get cancer.
Here, I want to replay this sound bite.
This is what I'm talking about.
In case you missed this, or if you did hear it, I want you to hear it again.
Because it's about the sequester, it's about how this country is about to implode, and by the way, everything he talks about here will happen if his policies are not stopped.
All of this is gonna happen.
But his characterization of the Republicans here is libelous.
Were it not for this being in politics, he would have to pay a huge price for this.
I mean, this is slanderous, it's libelous, and it is certainly not helpful.
It's not bipartisan, it's not reaching out, it's not there is no reason a a a person with any self-respect would respond to this at all.
After being characterized this way.
I mean, this is not insignificant.
This series of allegations and accusations, and that's what this is.
This is you uh again, you you must hear this as Obama intends it for the low information voter, and Obama's purpose here is to just wipe out the opposition, just get rid of any viable opposition, clear the playing field, listen to this one more time, and I want you to really listen, don't say, ah, politics is usual.
It's just it's this this goes beyond that.
Here, one more time.
Emergency responders, like the ones who are here today, their ability to help communities respond to and recover from disasters will be degraded.
Border patrol agents will see their hours reduced.
FBI agents will be furloughed.
Federal prosecutors will have to close cases and let criminals go.
Air traffic controllers and airport security will see cutbacks, which means more delays at airports across the country.
Thousands of teachers and educators will be laid off.
Tens of thousands of parents will have to scramble to find child care for their kids.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans will lose access to primary care and preventive care like flu vaccinations and cancer screenings.
This is not an abstraction.
People will lose their jobs.
The unemployment rate might tick up again.
Folks, I'm telling you, that is so unpresidential as to be as unpresidential as anything I've ever heard, that is irresponsible.
It is defamatory, not to mention totally untrue, which is why it makes it all those other things.
It's hideous in that it conveys this notion that without government creating massive debt and spending money that it doesn't have, nothing that's any good can happen in this country.
The only way anything that's any good can happen is if Obama is running the government and it's doing all of these things.
Just take one example.
He says here that hundreds of thousands of Americans will lose access to primary care.
That's already happening, and we've had the stories for you just this week, yesterday and last week, he says thousands of teachers and educators will be laid off.
Could somebody tell you which teachers are being paid by the federal government?
What part of the federal budget is it that pays teachers?
No, the government contributes to the school lunch program to school, breakfast program to school, snack program, school dinner.
But does the federal government pay teachers?
It doesn't.
If he were only this concerned about the job losses that have already happened, if he were only this concerned about four dead Americans in Benghazi, if he were only this concerned about a dead border patrol agent because of Fast and Furious, if he were only this concerned about all the wasted money he's thrown into wind and solar, if he were only this concerned about the damage being done by not okaying the Keystone pipeline.
I'm telling you, this is defamatory.
He comes back from vacation with no provocation whatsoever.
The only thing that's happened is that the Republicans have not been over and grabbed the ankle and said, do with us as you will.
And for that, for that insolence, this is how the king decides to treat them.
So this is what the Republicans want, huh?
That's what he wants you to believe.
That's what he wants you to take away.
That's who the Republicans are, that's what they want.
They want no teachers being paid.
They don't want any cops or firemen Being paid, they want everybody getting cancer, no flu vaccines, no first responders, if your house catches fire, too bad.
When did the federal government start paying firemen, by the way?
When did the federal government start paying the EMS people?
And if this government is so fragile, if $85 billion, and again, I'm I'm abandoning my point here, but I'm gonna make it anyway.
If all of this disaster results from $85 billion not being spent, if our government is so fragile, do we really want it running all of these departments?
If our government and our country can be ruined and brought to its knees this easily, then maybe the people in charge don't know what they're doing.
And at the end of it all, his modus operandi here is to be constantly campaigning.
He's not governing, he bears no responsibility for any of this.
All he's doing is trying to stop it.
That's why people will say in poll after poll after poll, they don't like the direction of the country.
They don't like Obama's agenda, but they approve of the job he's doing.
It can only be because they see him as fighting all of this, not causing it.
And he doesn't have the courage to actually lead.
What Obama is doing, folks, is setting the stage for a new depression, which will make the current economic problems look tame or even non-existent.
If his policies are not arrested, and by the way, you're starting to see this pop up in a lot of places.
The most recent was Barons.
It's an arm of the Wall Street Journal is a cover story with Obama, and it's about if this stuff isn't stopped in 25 years, we're going to be worse than Greece.
We're going to have riots in the streets.
Folks, this is not sustainable.
And there's not.
It's why I asked a bunch of people recently, all these Democrats that donate to this guy, and I don't.
I mean, they can't possibly know what they're really doing.
I just can't believe that the rank and for now, the Democrat leadership, the political leadership, yeah, they're all in for this.
But I can't believe it's some guy that owns a golf club up in Palm City who donates to Obama is in favor of all this.
I think people just loyal Democrats donating and raising money for the latest Democrat.
They want to be in and close to the seat of power, they want to feed off of it.
You know, everybody is a celebrity worshiper, but all in for this.
He's setting the stage for new depression.
It's going to make what's happening now look tame or even non-existent.
We're facing massive unemployment.
We're facing massive business failures, bank failures.
The disintegration of all that you have and have worked for is on tap if this stuff continues.
Now the Republicans, we all know that they simply do not know how to speak for themselves.
Whether it's the consultant class that has advised them not to be critical of Obama because some mythical group of voters doesn't like it.
And make no mistake, that's why Romney throughout the campaign was running around talking, well, no, Obama's a really nice guy, he's a great family man.
He just in over his head, doesn't really know what he's doing.
That's so wrong.
He's not in over his head, and he knows exactly what he's doing, and he's not a nice guy.
A nice guy doesn't say what Obama just said.
But our consultant class and some of our young conservatives that don't know any better are running around trying to, you know, we must not raise our voices, and we must not be confrontational, and we must understand meantime, they are being chewed Up and spit out.
Now we all know that they just either don't know how or are unwilling to tell people who they really are.
So I will.
Because I know what I want for this country, and I happen to know that the vast majority of Republicans and conservatives want the same.
We want to prevent what's happening, folks.
We want to prevent the nation from going bankrupt.
We want to prevent the destruction of the value of everything we've created as a nation.
We want to prevent the shutting down of every federal agency and program.
We want to prevent whatever civil unrest that might happen and could happen.
The riots when there isn't anything to be had.
We don't want to become Greece.
We don't want to become Western Europe.
We don't want to become a Western Europe social democracy.
We don't want to see the wealth of this nation destroyed and plundered.
We do not want any of this.
We don't want to destroy people's incomes.
We don't want to destroy people's savings.
We don't want to destroy people's pensions.
We don't want to destroy people's home values.
We don't want to see people's farms shut down.
We don't want to see people's businesses boarded up.
We don't want to see millions of untold jobs destroyed and shut down, and that's happening.
We want to prevent all of this.
We want to prevent a run on the banks and other financial institutions.
We want to prevent the destruction of the currency, the dollar, and all that flows from that, which includes food becoming unaffordable, long lines for gasoline if you can get it.
We want to make sure that the country does not become what it was like in the Northeast after Hurricane Sandy for what may be still going on.
We don't want to see people losing their health care.
We don't want to see companies choosing to pay fines rather than insure employees for health care.
We don't want any of this.
But to listen to the President of the United States, all of this is what we favor.
And the irony is it is what he is bringing about.
What he's making happen.
He is the cause of it.
It is his policies.
So he gets a free ride.
He gets to occupy this perch.
He's the gladiator fighting against all this evil, these unnamed people, these unseen people behind the curtain pulling the levers, trying to screw you out of everything.
He's out there and he's into his fifth year now of fighting against that, fighting for you.
All the while what he is doing is actually causing it.
But this is, you know, this this one percent business, this idea that Obama doesn't like to hang around the rich, he loves hanging around Beyoncé.
He loves hanging around Jay-Z.
He loves hanging around Tiger.
He loves hanging around rich people.
He wants to be one of them.
I've got a story here.
Beyonce spends eighty dollars per nail getting a um what what do you call it?
I'm having a metal block, but no, getting the nails done.
Manicure.
$80 per nail because she has real gold painted on them.
Eight hundred fifty dollars for a manicure, Beyoncé.
And Muchell doesn't mind hanging around with that night.
There's a story about it, and and that's cool.
Beyonce's gold spiky talon manicure.
$85 per name.
Gotta be back.
Don't go away, folks.
Let me grab a quick telephone call here, as I promised, this is Kate in Carson City, Nevada.
It's great to have you on the program.
Hi.
Hello, Rash.
How are you doing, Gary?
Very well, thank you.
Okay.
Listen, uh, I'm Kate from Fairfield, by the way.
Um yeah.
Oh.
It's like, oh, okay.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
Listen, I just want to say, as a 26-year student of yours, I listened very carefully to the sound bites, and that uh former deputy, whatever chick she was talking about Obama having to play golf with Tiger.
If you noticed, she blamed the Supreme Court for him having to play golf with Tiger, because the Supreme Court has now made it uh a reality that you have to uh to go where the money is.
Of course, they've been going they've been going where the money is forever, but I just laughed when I heard at the very tail end she said uh you know, something about the Supreme Court McCann.
Yeah, that's that's the um I have a a metal block on the name of the decision in Dave Bossey's group, the Citizens United.
Uh which which allows corporations to make donations to political candidates.
The left hates that.
Look, Kate, I want you to hang on here because um we've got to take a break here, and I want to play that sound bite so people know what it is that you're talking about.
So don't go away, folks.
We will be right back.
And we're back.
El Rushball, the all-knowing, all caring, all sensing, all feeling, all concerned, all correct.
All right.
Maha Rushy, and we rejoin Kate in Carson City, Nevada.
She's one of the um early and one of my favorite callers from the days at KFBK Sacramento back when I first started this show.
And she was a semi-regular then big Charles Manson fan, uh, lived near him in Fairfield, Connecticut, right?
Fairfield, California, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
No, she's not a Charles Manson fan.
It's just he was imprisoned there for a while before.
Yeah, he was at Vaccaville.
Okay, now she references this quote that there this this uh soundbite that we played the first hour.
Rosa Brooks, who is the former Obama administration deputy assistant secretary defense.
She's on with Aaron Burnett last night on uh Aaron Burnett out front, and they're talking about why Obama did not want a photo op with Tiger Woods, and you've got to if you miss this the first time, listen to this again.
Rosa, is he embarrassed about his one percent world?
I think that's absolutely right.
I think that we should be reporting on the sickening influence of money in politics, but I also think that is unfortunately the world we live in.
If you are a successful national level politician, you can't afford to hang out with people who aren't going to give you money.
And our Supreme Court has helped make that possible, it's helped make that the situation we're in right now.
So what Kate's pointing out here is this woman is saying the Supreme Court made Obama invite Tiger Woods.
Right because of that Citizens United case, which opened up donations from corporations, which are not people.
Corporations are evil aliens, monsters, whatever, and they're not allowed.
They shouldn't be allowed to donate money, but now they can be, and that's so unfair to Democrats, because everybody knows Democrats hate corporations or corporations hate Obama, blah blah.
So the Supreme Court made Obama invite Tiger because as she said here, since that decision, if you're a national level politician, you can't afford to hang out with people who aren't going to give you money.
Put another way, you can't hang out with average people.
You don't have time to hang out with people who don't have any money to give you because of the Supreme Court.
And that's it's absurd.
It is again I don't know.
I think all this stuff is just uh insulting and defamatory.
It absolutely is, Rush.
And you know, they've been hanging out with money for you know, fifty years.
I mean, this is so ridiculous.
And to make that claim that it's it's blaming the Supreme Court.
Why?
Because there's a conservative majority on the Supreme Court.
If there wasn't, they wouldn't say a thing about it.
But there is, and so they have to bring that up because that's another leg that they have to take care of with regards to Obama and his Supreme Court appointments because they want to see that court turn.
It's exactly right.
By the way, we looked it up, and according to FEC records, Tiger Wood hasn't donated a dime to anybody in politics.
We can't find a single Obama or or or Tiger Woods political donation.
And I'm sure b before that decision, Obama was still hanging around money.
Can we say George Soros?
Oh, of course.
He hangs that's Obama's a groupie when it comes to celebrities.
He is the celebrity of the United States.
He loves hanging.
The idea that he is being forced into this is absurd.
Absolutely absurd.
That's why I just had to call because it was so absurd I just couldn't stand it.
Well being your student for so many years, I just had to say something.
Well, I'm glad you got through.
It's always a pleasure to hear from you.
And then how are things going with you?
Are you okay?
Very well.
Things are going very well.
You need an iPad.
Uh you need an iPad.
You want a retina MacBook Pro, you want what do you need?
You want an iPhone 5?
Oh, Rush dear, save your generosity for people, other people.
I I I don't need any.
No, I only give stuff away to the rich.
I can't afford to give stuff away to people that don't have anything.
Oh, well, uh well, the one of the kids would love an iPhone 5.
That's true.
Well, then I'll send you one.
Now it's it's unlocked, and you have you can use it with a it you have to it's it's meant to be used with ATT, although Yeah, we have ATT.
Okay.
If you want to use it with T Mobile, you can't.
It does not have a SIM card.
It's unlocked, so you have to take it to a store and make your deal.
It doesn't come tied to a contract yet.
So you take it to an ATT store, make whatever deal you want, to put a SIM card in it with a number that you want, and uh we'll get it out.
You want a white one or black one?
Uh a black one.
They're all boys.
Yeah, a black one.
Okay.
Well, thank you.
I I certainly didn't expect that, and it's so wild.
No, that's what makes it fun.
And I know that you're rich and you can get one on your own anyway, but you know, look, Kate.
Now hang on, don't hang up because Mr. Sterdley needs to get you.
Well, you'll have it tomorrow.
We're gonna FedEx it out this afternoon, so you have it tomorrow.
Okay.
I know that FedEx goes to Carson City, so you sure yeah.
So you'll have um you'll have it tomorrow.
How many, how many how many boys do you have?
Well, I have seven sons and one daughter, you know, eight children.
Four of them are total rescue.
Oh, what is the what's the age range?
Thirty-five down to twelve.
Thirty-five.
Thirty-five down to twelve.
You know what?
I'm gonna throw in a couple of iPads so that there's not any anger animosity.
That that's um well, yeah, we'll so throw in a couple iPads, and I'll throw a white one in there in case uh one of the girls.
She would love one.
Okay.
Okay.
Well, you you sit tight for uh Snerdley, he'll get your address, and as I said, it's always great to hear from you.
Okay.
So Obama, I think, folks, uh how absurd is this.
Obama and all national politicians, except for Republicans, of course.
They don't have time to hang around people that don't have a lot of money, which means they only can hang around with people who have money that they can ask to give them some.
We continue on the phones.
This is David in Decatur, Illinois.
I'm glad you called, sir.
Great to have you on the EIB network.
Hello.
Thank you, Rush.
Appreciate it.
Uh sequester.
Uh it's gonna take effect, they say next week.
Um and I hear Obama say today that uh the uh the unemployment rate's gonna tick up.
My question to you, sir, is this when did it tick down?
It's still hovering around 7.8 million.
No, it ticked down right before the election.
You know, it was an 8.2, 8.3, and it started going down all during 2012, and right before the election, it dipped down to exactly what it was uh when Obama took office, I think.
At least the rate, like 7.8.
But look, th this the sequester, this is another the sequester, folks, is eighty-five billion.
Half of that is defense.
So let's say 42 billion dollars is gonna result is going to cause all of this disaster that he predicted.
And yet we're spending fifty billion dollars on Sandy, Hurricane Sandy relief.
I just um I I think it's I think it's time everybody, uh particularly on the Republican side, got a grip here and fully understood exactly what they're dealing with and what Obama's modus operandi is.
For example, this this uh grab audio soundbite number three.
This is Obama.
This is the Yep.
It's the final soundbite that we have from Obama.
First day back from vacation, unprovoked, nobody did anything to him.
Nobody insulted him, nobody said a word, but he had this he had to strike out at the Republicans and defame them and impugn them.
And this is the last thing that he said today.
So my door is open.
I've put tough cuts and reforms on the table.
I'm willing to work with anybody to get this job done.
None of us will get a hundred percent of what we want.
But nobody should want these cuts to go through because the last thing our families can afford right now is pain imposed unnecessarily by partisan recklessness and ideological rigidity here in Washington.
As I said at the State of the Union, the American people have worked too hard too long, rebuilding from one crisis to see their elected officials cause yet another one.
Now, this um I I think were it not so masterfully presented, this actually is a deranged mind here.
Let's my door is open.
I put tough cuts and reforms on the table.
He's not.
There aren't any cuts, folks, and there never are any cuts.
And there haven't been, and he certainly hasn't proposed any.
No, he says this every crisis, every issue, every piece of legislation.
I'm willing to work with anybody, and he doesn't.
None of us will get a hundred percent of what we want.
That's standard boilerplate, and that's aimed right at the low information voter who is obsessed with compromise and bipartisanship.
And so here, Obama is simply telling them that he wants what they want.
Hey, you know, nobody gets 100% of everything.
I'm willing to compromise, I'm willing to give up some stuff.
But then in the next sentence, but nobody should want these cuts to go through.
Well, that's all we're talking about here.
That's all the sequester is cuts, and the sequester is his idea.
So if if he's willing to work, and nobody's gonna get 100% of what we want, but then nobody should want these cuts since all we're talking about is cuts.
The compromise is that the cuts not happen, which is not a compromise.
But my point look, this isn't about compromise.
There is no common ground.
There is no area of overlay where what Obama wants overlays what the Republicans want.
There isn't any commonality here by design.
That's not what's happening.
This is all BS.
This is all positioning.
This is all Obama campaigning, not governing.
This is Obama running against the real powerful forces in this country, and it isn't him.
It's these mysterious Republicans, these unnamed, faceless people behind the curtains who want you to get cancer, who don't want your kids to have flu shots or health care, who want your kids' teachers fired.
And he is the valiant gladiator attempting to stop all that from happening.
And of course, the Republicans don't want any of it.
And the sad reality is the majority of the American people don't want any of this.
And they're getting it.
The American people want none of it, but they're getting it.
But the problem is they don't associate Obama as having any relationship to what's happening.
They all say in polls, they don't like the direction of the country.
They all say they disagree with his agenda, but they approve of the job he's doing.
There's this huge disconnect, and the only way to understand It is that American voters do not associate Obama's agenda with what's happening.
They don't associate any of his policies with job loss or unemployment.
They don't associate any of his policies with anything going wrong in the economy.
And he couldn't make that happen without a compliant, totally salivating, slavish, puppet mastered media.
And that's exactly what's going on.
So here we have a political story.
GOP senators waiting for Obama's outreach.
Republican senators Mark Kirk of Illinois, Rob Portman of Ohio, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma are waving for the phone to ring, the story says.
After all of his talk about bipartisanship, they are expecting Obama to reach across the aisle.
He's waiting for them to call him.
He said, My doors open.
I'll put tough coats of reforms on tape.
My doors up, my way for somebody call me.
They're waiting for him to call them.
They want it known that they're willing to compromise.
They want it known that they're willing to.
And that's not what Obama wants.
They're being suckered so fast, so bad, so good, it's breathtaking to behold this.
GOP senators waiting for Obama's outreach.
I hope they're not holding their breath.
I hope this is just a story.
I hope they realize that bipartisan cooperation is the last thing Obama wants.
I hope they realize that the sequester happening is Christmas morning for him.
Defense budget cut major big time and head start cut and blame the Republicans for all of it.
I hope they realize what's really going on here.
Yes, I know we still have the uh political story to go.
Obama the puppet master.
This is Jim Vande Hy and Mike Allen, and they claim you know, this this Obama guy, he's a master at limiting and shaping and manipulating media coverage of himself in the White House is not because we're libs.
It's not that, it's that he's just so good at manipulating us and getting us to do what he wants us to do.
It's really it's really big.
And so we'll discuss that, and there's a bunch of other stuff.
So sit tight.
Uh, my friends, uh, much more straight ahead.
Let me grab uh Will and what is this?
Uh Manda Ohio.
Welcome to the EIB Network.
Great to have you here.
Hi.
Hey Russ, thanks for taking my call.
You bet.
Hey, you've got to relax a little bit.
I mean, we've been printing $85 billion a month out of thin air for a long time now.
It's called QE3.
All we have to do is call it QE3 enhanced, print another $85 billion, and it's all good.
Why not?
I mean, we're doing this every month.
We're having this big fight over one b one budget cut.
We're printing every month.
We're we're not.
That's what I'm I'm trying to convey that it's not about that at all.
What Obama is doing here is effectively eliminate, trying to just wipe out any opposition.
This whole diatribe today, it's not about the budget.
It's not about all it this he's further defining his opposition for people for low information voters.
This I mean, we're spending fifty billion dollars on salary.
It's not about the money.
He's he's lying through his teeth about this.
This is this is pure defamation.
This is this is something far different than a budget dispute.
And I'm sorry if I have not made that clear.
No, but it's $85 billion a month that we're printing out of thin air every month anyway, Rush.
Why don't we just all solve our problems for an extra $85 billion?
Because QE3 is going on endlessly anyway.
It's just an extra month.
See what I'm saying?
This whole argument's ridiculous with what we're doing now buying these derivative default swaps.
Well, look, I this is another point as well.
This is the the Democrats and Obama set the daily narrative, and the Republicans and everybody fall into the trap of discussing it.
And that's how we go crisis to crisis to crisis, and I'm trying to convey that that's not I I said the outset, I'm not gonna parse this the way we normally do, but it's not about this.
There's something else entirely going on here.
And it's not about $85 billion.
It's not about QE3 or any of this other stuff.
It's far more hideous than that what's happening here.
I guess the best way, folks, to try to categorize this is this is this this whole thing, Obama's appearance today, it's not about the sequester.
This is about defining who his enemy is, lying about them.
This is about wiping them out.
This is about the House in 2014.
That's the next big thing everybody's looking at here.
