Greetings to you, music lovers, thrill seekers, and conversationalists all across the fruited plain Rushland boss serving humanity while having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have all at the same time.
The epitome of multitasking as no one else can do it.
We are here at 800 282-2882, the email address Lrushbow at EIBNet.com.
The brilliant Columbia University professor Mark Lamont Hill said that watching Christopher Dorner run around out there in a mass murdering spree, why it is exciting.
Why it's like a real life Django.
It's like Django Unchained come to real life.
My friends, does that mean that movies influence the behavior of people who see them?
I mean, if this guy's on a murder spree, what if he happened to see Django Unchained?
What if this national hero, Christopher Dorner happened to see the movie Django Unchained?
Would that mean that Hollywood is to blame for the violence?
The violence in that movie is being held up by learned academics as exciting and come to life real in the actions of Chris Dorner.
Chuck Hagel.
This is amazing.
Somebody has come up with a, I guess they're waiting for it to be released.
Somebody has a apparently a video of Chuck Hagel making a speech to some supporters back in 2007-2008, where he essentially said that Israel runs the U.S. State Department.
Now Hegel, you know, you go back to the early 2000s.
Hegel was one of the most brilliant Republicans around.
If you listen to media, he was he was John McCain's best bud.
McCain in his 2000 campaign had even promised to make Hegel the Secretary of Defense.
And then they had a falling out because Hegel endorsed Obama over McCain in 2008.
So now McCain's totally down on Hegel.
And they're going through the motions of whether or not they're going to filibuster this nomination in the hearings, the vote essentially on Hegel to be Secretary of Defense.
And now somebody says they've got his his anti-israeli attitude position well documented, but if if this is true, if somebody actually does have either audio or video of Hegel saying that the U.S. State Department was run by Israel.
it's been assumed that his confirmation is a fait accompli But every day, more and more pops up to make that look doubtful.
Now that the poor Carnival cruise line, they've got that cruise ship out there that's lost all power, and apparently it is a floating sewer.
It's a floating pig sty.
But I'm sorry, I I just I can't help it.
Actually been focused on it for the last three days, as it has been drifting aimlessly out there in the Gulf of Mexico.
But now it's got a tow.
They're towing the thing and it's heading to Alabama.
CNN is gonna anchor the arrival of the sewer, the floating sewer, live.
Tonight, Aaron Burnett at 7 o'clock, actually anchor the arrival of this floating sewer.
It's like it's like this thing is a uh returning from a great war with a bunch of wounded soldiers.
Except we don't treat wounded soldiers with this much respect.
Now why is the media obsessed with this?
Here you have, okay, this is a cruise ship and it's lost power, and we're hearing really, really Gross accounts from some of the passengers about conditions on board this ship.
I don't feel comfortable repeating some of it, like sewage actually running down the walls of people's cabins.
It's really gross stuff.
The media is obsessed with this.
Now it has some ingredients that would qualify for media obsession, but suffering.
You've got suffering in the midst of plenty, a cruise ship suffering in the midst of opulence.
It's a cruise ship.
It's a it's a vessel made by the private sector.
It's a vessel that operates in the private sector.
It's a vessel that operates for profit.
And it's become a floating sewer, and as such, it does represent whether you agree with me or not.
I hope you've learned by now never really to disagree with me, but it's an opportunity for the media to make this subtle.
Read between the lines digs at the unfairness, the lack of concern by corporate CEOs and owners and profiteers.
They don't care that their ships are floating pigs die.
Have you heard what they've offered the passengers?
No.
They have offered.
Did they offer the refund?
Okay, hang on.
Calm down in there.
It's not worth an adrenaline rush.
They have offered a refund at a 15% discount on the next trip.
And of course, this is insulting to people like CNN and others who think that the cruise ship company ought to donate the ship to the passengers because of this.
No, I'm not defending car, I'm not defending anybody.
I'm not, I'm just I'm I'm trying to perform a service here, a little moderate amount of education as to why a floating out of commission cruise ship makes the media so happy.
They're ecstatic with this circum.
They're ecstatic with the suffering.
They're ecstatic with all this because it offers them an opportunity to blame somebody, to blame capitalism, to blame the private sector.
What's wrong with the offer?
What, the refund of 15% discount?
I'm not commenting on the offer.
I'm just telling you what it is.
When I if I ran the cruise ship, I'd say it'd be more than a 15% discount.
I give everybody after refunding, I'd I'd comp them.
If I ran the cruise ship, I would comp.
I would eat the profit on this trip.
I would comp the people on this board, and I'd be thank God that they trusted me to go on another one of my ships after this.
But that's just me.
I don't run this outfit, but if I did, I would comp them, I'd refund them, I'd comp them on a trip whenever they wanted to go on whatever ship within the next say two or three years.
And if they accepted, I would thank God that I had a chance to get them back as customers.
But that's just me.
And if they did that, then they'd confound the media and everything.
But they're not.
Anyway, um, Angelo Sacopoulos is a prominent Democrat in California, Sacramento, California.
And according to a report in a Greek newspaper, Angelo Sacopoulos, a major Democrat donor and fundraiser, is claiming that Bill Clinton told him, oh, I gotta folks, Catherine and I are watching a new show on NBC called Deception.
It runs on Monday night.
And it's about this scandal Ridden, totally morally decrepit and depraved, wealthy as hell family who made their money in pharmaceuticals, and this family is trying to bring to market a new drug which kills its customers.
In the testing phase of this new drug, it's a drug that would eliminate the need for chemotherapy in cancer treatment.
But in testing, it killed 27 out of whatever the test group was, 100 people, 1,000 people.
And they're trying to cover it up, naturally, because they want to put a drug on the market that kills people.
That's how you make money in the pharmaceutical business if you listen to Left.
You you create a product that kills people.
So one of the family members died in the opening episode.
And I don't know whether she was murdered or whether she OD on heroin.
But the reason it's a curiosity is because she knew that the family was killing its customers in the testing of the new drug, and it is thought that she was going to go public and turn in the company and her family, her father, who runs the damn thing, and it was going to be a bloodbath, and so she turns up dead.
And so the mystery is who killed her or did she die on her own?
And blah, blah, blah.
Well, one of the side stories is that this character who passed away in her twenties, opening episode, had a daughter.
Maybe she's in her 30s, and had a daughter, has a daughter.
And everybody thinks that the daughter is not hers.
Everybody that the family's made the daughter think that she is actually a daughter of the husband's uh second wife.
But she really the daughter of the dead, either murdered or OD'd, other daughter.
Well, in the last episode, two episodes ago, this young girl who's uh in the in the show, she's in high school.
In fact, she's a debutant.
She just had her coming out at the debutante ball in Manhattan.
And page six, or its equivalent, discovered that she was not the daughter of her father and stepmother, but in fact the daughter of the dead sister.
And she learns this while she's on the dance floor in her coming, and she of course flees and leaves with a motorcycle guy who's the absolute anethem of what this family would want her hanging around with.
So they they they motorcycle away to a hideaway, and she's all distraught because now she thought she knew who her father was.
She thought she knew who her mother was, and she totally, so she's she's talking to this biker guy who's a good looking dude.
He's not your average Hell's Angels looking biker guy, but he's obviously, you know, human debris, a reprobate, except for the way he looks.
And she's all distraught.
She's saying, gosh, you know, do you know who my father is going to be?
Bill Clinton?
Hell, he was screwing everybody about the time this happened.
You think my father is, oh my gosh, who can she's Bill Clinton?
She names a couple of other really, and I thought, that's hilarious.
So here's Bill Clinton, Clinton Global Initiative, Clinton president, having jokes made of him on an NBC primetime show about having illegitimate kids.
Anyway, just wanted to tell you that story, the fact that even on NBC they make fun of Clinton in that regard.
Angelo Sacopoulos said, and he was talking to Bill Clinton.
Bill Clinton told him that Hillary is going to run for the presidency in 2016.
The name of the Greek newspaper is the Greek Reporter.
This happened a private banquet in California last weekend.
And Cicopola said that Hillary will be our next president, and she'll be a great one.
I talked to her husband, and he confirmed it, she will run.
You know, it's a shame that Christopher Dorner didn't get this news before he was killed, assuming he's dead, because he wrote.
Dorner wrote about how much he wanted Hillary to be the next president.
If he had been able to hear this story, if he had been assured if he could have been assured that she was going to run, who knows?
He might not have pulled the trigger as often.
Oh, and speaking of the O.J., this guy on his kill list was Mark Furman.
Anyway, I happen to know Angelo Sacopoulos.
I mean it's the long version circuitous route I'm taking to tell you this story.
Uh I met Angelo Sacopoulos when I was uh in Sacramento, that'd be from 1984 to 87.
And he's just the nicest man in the world.
He's uh uh the epitome of of uh solid citizen.
He he his his politics didn't matter to him uh in terms of friendship.
Angelo Sacopoulos, in fact, is the guy who introduced me to vintage Bordeaux.
I used to laugh at wine snobs as they talked about wine and the the bouquet and the aroma and uh and the whatever else and all that.
And one night we happened to be at dinner and he ordered this bottle of I forget I don't even remember what it was, but it was it was a vintage Bordeaux.
I think I actually I think it was a 1961 Petrouse, if I'm not mistaken, but anyways, my f uh first real taste of vintage wine, and it was that night that I finally understood what the big hullabaloo was about it and why people liked it.
But he's been a full-fledged Democrat all of his life, he's never gonna be anything other than that.
He's been totally in the tank for the Clintons.
But my point is that if he's saying this, he was told this.
And he wouldn't be making it up out of whole cloth or he doesn't try to stir things up.
But he doesn't try to get himself in the public eye.
He doesn't have to.
He's uh very prominent, well known, and and loved and adored out in Sacramento, Northern California.
And if he says that Bill Clinton told him Hillary's gonna run, then it happened.
The only thing is, is anybody surprised?
We all know Hillary's gonna run.
It was supposed to be hers in 2008.
We've been through that.
You don't want to know what happened.
Anyway, I take a quick break, we'll come back and continue your telephone calls are next.
Don't go away.
Speaking of Sacramento, California, my adopted hometown, we have a call from there.
It's Scott.
I'm glad you waited, sir.
Welcome to the EIB network.
Hi.
Good afternoon, Rush.
Um, can you hear me?
Yeah.
Okay.
Um having problems with my phone.
It's it's an honor to talk with you.
I've been listening to you for at least the past twenty years.
What kind of phone do you have?
I have a um a portable uh handheld unit.
Oh.
What's a what what oh you're you're you're not on the cell phone.
No, no.
But you can hear me okay.
Yeah, I hear you fine.
Okay.
Well, my point was that the reason why Dorner is such a hero to the left is because his cause was just.
He fought the oppression of racism and was a classic victim.
And like with, I think, was it Saul Alinsky from the 60s that blew people up or blew up institutions?
Yeah, but here's the thing.
Everybody is accepting without any examination, everything he says is true.
Nobody's questioning anything he said.
I have no doubt you're right that he fulfills this this template that that the left has, that there's racial oppression and may as well still have slavery.
And this guy's out there describing it.
And as far as they're concerned, uh this guy's fighting evil.
And in that situation, anything's okay.
If you had to murder some cops to fight evil, well, we'll make a show of condemning the cop killing, but at the end of the day, you're a hero with us, pal.
Right.
And if he had been uh white, they would have said he was a uh a right wing uh militia uh crackpot.
And uh I I don't hear anything about um gun control in relationship to this story.
No, I don't in fact, not only that, as I said he's been compared as a modern day Django unchained.
They're comparing him to a movie.
Well favorably so.
Um wonder if he saw it.
Does that mean that people are in fact influenced by violence in movies?
I mean, these people are the left are illustrating, as you're pointing out, all of their hypocrisies and inconsistencies.
Very true.
Timothy McVeigh, Timothy McVeigh had a cause.
Timothy McVeigh thought that the government was a giant, too much power, infringing on individual rights, all kinds of conspiracies, and he did what he did to get people listen, and nobody cared what he thought.
All they did was try to tie Timothy McVay.
You know, Bill Clinton tried to blame me for that.
I remember that.
It's it was an outrage then, and it's an outrage now still.
And it just uh underscores the hypocrisy of the left.
It's just the the complete hypocrisy.
Well, i it does.
Um the the interesting thing, I use that word too much.
It's not it's not interesting.
The dangerous thing about it, of course, is the low information voter audience.
Do you know, folks, entertainment tonight?
I have the story somewhere here in the stack, and I'll get to it.
Entertainment tonight.
Entertainment tonight did a total hit piece on Pope Benedict the Sixteenth one night this week.
Entertainment tonight.
Proving my point about these entertainment shows for low information voters, making sure that a political point of view is either there subtly or in your face.
Talent on loan from God, Rush Limbaugh, as usual, meeting and surpassing all audience expectations every day, the fastest week in media to Raleigh, North Carolina.
Hi, Michael, you're next, and it's great to have you here.
Hi.
Hi, Rush.
I hope you and Catherine have a wonderful Valentine's Day.
Thank you, sir.
Very, very much.
You're very welcome.
I listened to your whole show yesterday and heard you very well describe Obama as the crusader and the warrior.
But I'd like to add what helps him with the low information voters is he plays the victim very well.
Well, I don't of course, that's part and parcel of uh of the of the whole theory that I espoused yesterday.
I I don't know about him.
Yeah, he is crusader and warrior, but the key to understanding Obama the key to understanding how low information voters see Obama, he's not governing.
He's not responsible for anything.
He's not accountable.
He nothing that's happening can be tied to him.
And that's why they associate themselves with him.
It's not their fault.
I don't have a job.
I can't make anything.
It's not his.
He's trying to fix it.
And and he and they, as you say, are victims, these powerful forces, these invisible people behind the screens pulling all these levers, uh, taking everything for themselves.
Obama is trying to fix it and get everything back.
And so far he's five years into the project.
It's taken a little longer than people thought.
But he's not responsible.
His policies have no relationship to the reality of this country at all.
There's no connection whatsoever.
That's exactly right, and neither do their poor pathetic lives.
They have no responsibility over it.
So you think he's it but part and parcel of this is playing the victim.
He and everybody else victimized by all of these powerful forces.
Um not only is is he trying to fix it, he's being stopped from fix fixing it.
He's doing everything he can to bring the deficit down.
He's doing everything he can to lower the debt, but my God, the Republicans keep thwarting him at every turn.
He wants to raise taxes on the people who are responsible for this.
And the Republicans won't let him.
They continue to defend the people who cause the problems.
This is how the low information voter sees it.
Now, I want to reiterate something.
It's not as easy as it sounds.
For example, there's not a Republican that could pull this off because to pull this kind of thing off as Obama is, you need a totally compliant and slavish media.
Totally on your side and willing to carry your water and your message and your talking points each and every day.
And then you need no conscience.
You cannot possibly have a conscience and pull off something like this.
And I think this is why when Obama says the sweetest thing you can do is get revenge, vote.
Remember when we heard that during the campaign, late in the campaign?
And we also revenge against who?
Well, now we know.
All of us.
The people who are working, the people who are not suffering, the people who are perceived not to be suffering.
Revenge against us.
Obama's leading the charge of the benchful.
And he's seeking to address their grievances.
He's their leader in this regard.
But it's a fascinating thing.
You are president of the United States, but you are never perceived as governing.
You are not seen as in charge.
Your agenda has no relationship whatsoever to what's happening in the country.
This is how you can get polling data that shows a vast majority of people disagree with every Obama policy.
But they don't blame him for the policy.
They don't associate him with the policy.
They still re-elect him.
They do not connect Obama and his policies to what is happening in the country.
They see Obama and he pulls this off because he is in constant campaign mode.
He's always running against whoever and whatever these powerful forces are that are creating all of this misery and havoc.
And it's been going on for a long time.
Bush, even before that, Reagan, even founding fathers.
I mean, from the days the country was founded, and Obama is finally, the country's finally put somebody in charge to fix it.
And it's going to take more than one term.
Can't do it all in one term.
May not be able to do it in two times.
And he even told his supporters this.
May not be able to pull it all off in one term.
So the fact that the debt is skyrocketing and that his policies are causing it is not seen.
That connection isn't made because Obama is never seen as in charge.
He holds the office, and he gets the perks, and he's a celebrity.
But he's not in charge.
He's not accountable.
He's not responsible.
He does his State of the Union speech on Tuesday night.
And he makes another laundry list of promises, which nobody thinks will ever happen.
But what they serve to do is further illuminate for people what needs to be fixed, and that he is out there trying to fix it.
And he is lined up against powerful forces that are arrayed against him who are trying to protect all the unfairness and injustice and wealth that they have amassed over the course of the nation's history that they don't want to share, that they don't want to give up.
And Obama is simply saying to everybody, these people have had too much for too long, and they've made it so that the playing field isn't level and not everybody has a fair shake.
So, in saying that, he has put forth an excuse for every one of his supporters to acknowledge their failure as not being their fault.
Their unhappiness isn't their fault.
They are up against powerful forces, rich people, and successful people who simply they don't want to share anything.
They're very selfish, but Obama is trying to get it away from them.
And that process is leading to rising debt, student loans getting more expensive, cost of college is more expensive, but Obama is seen as trying to solve all of that.
The fact that his policies, the fact that his presidency is in fact causing all of this, is a connection unmade by a majority of people who vote in this country.
It has to be that.
There can be no other explanation for this.
You get, and these polls are frequent now.
The number of people who oppose Obamacare, for example, has always been 55 to 58, in some cases, 60%.
But he, even he, is not held accountable for Obamacare.
The middle class tax cut that happened when the payroll tax cut ended and everybody's paychecks in January got smaller.
That wasn't because of Obama.
Obama has spent the last four years promising people that isn't gonna happen.
And he's told people that the deficit, whatever his policies are, are not gonna add a dime to the deficit.
That's a quote.
And he and if you make less than 250,000 a year, you're not gonna pay any more in taxes.
And yet you got a tax increase.
It must be the Republicans doing something.
Must be.
Because Obama said it wasn't going to happen.
And the deficit keeps getting bigger, and the debt...
But it can't be Obama because he said whatever he did and does won't even add a dime.
So it must be what the Republicans continue to do.
This is how the low information voter sees it.
This is how they calculate or compute or hear all of this.
But Obama has no accountability.
He has no responsibility.
There is no relationship to Obama's presidency and policies, to the reality of life on the ground in America today.
And he pulls that off by never ever being seen as governing.
And by always being in campaign mode.
And what are you doing in campaign mode?
You're running against something.
And that is the key.
You're never seen as in charge of everything.
That is why people end up supporting his executive orders, I might add to all this.
Because he's tried everything.
And they still can't get the unemployment number done, still can't get job creation going.
We still can't stop gun violence.
He's going to have to do something.
NRA and Wayne Lapier and the powerful gun lobby, they just won't stop.
And they just won't compromise.
Gabby Giffords and her husband have begged people, and Sarah Brittany, they've begged people to stop using their guns and to give them up, and they won't.
And so if Obama has to use an executive order to do it, so be it.
What he's really doing, you can't even convince them what he's really doing.
Sit down and talk to them, can't.
You can't convince them they're wrong because they will never admit they are That blind.
They will never admit that they are that hoodwinkable.
They'll never admit that they are that foolable or gullible or whatever.
Plus, he's the first black president.
He cannot be a bad guy.
All this stuff you say about him, Mr. Limboy, can't be true.
I hear him speak.
He desperately wants me to have a better life.
I hear it every day.
And he's trying.
The rich won't give up what they've got.
They won't they won't pay their fair share of things.
So the debt goes up, the deficits get higher, jobs are lost, the housing market shrinks.
All the while Obama tells people it's the opposite is happening.
State of the Union, why you would think this economy's roaring back.
That in fact might have been a tactical error he made.
He might get away with it because so few people actually watched it.
But to go out there and start raving about this economy and how home values are coming back, if yours aren't, somehow you might be being left out, which means Obama's not fixing it for you.
So he's got to be very careful in talking up this country.
He's got to be very careful in talking up the economy.
Let me play a soundbite, and then I have to take a quick time out.
This is Brett Bear on Fox last night, and I guess the All-Star panel, and it's Juan Williams.
And Brett Bear said, What about this pledge?
I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to the deficit.
The RNC put out that ad showing all the times Obama said that before, including with health care, which clearly, as you know, even the nonpartisan CBO is saying those numbers continue to go up by the month, so he's adding more than dimes, Juan.
What do you say?
Put health care to the side for just a moment and say that in terms of the other spending, stimulus spending and the like, you can understand that any president had to take steps in terms of economic rescue for the country and the like.
Healthcare costs do seem to be going up more so than he had predicted, although, as we know, the rate of growth of health care costs for this this period is actually declining.
No, you just put health care aside.
You can't blame Obama for running up the depth.
He's not responsible.
That's what Juan Williams say.
He's not doing it.
Compliant, totally slavish media.
Let's take a break.
We'll be back.
Yes, sir, Rebob, back to the phones we go.
This is Jeff in Reno, Nevada, where we once had to ban calls in the first six months of this program.
Well, it was the first year.
We had to ban calls from Reno, but no more.
Great to have you here, sir.
Hello.
Well, thank you for taking my call and thank you for lifting the band.
I uh I don't know how I can follow a great riff like that, but I started doubting when you were quoting uh CNN or uh alternate or something like that.
And the deal was that uh oh, of course we don't condone murder, but yeah, yeah, this guy this guy has a point.
We should listen to this.
We're we're capable of having two thoughts at the same time.
Let's read his manifesto and praise him for bringing out the message.
And you already covered.
I said, well, then Bill, what about Timothy McVay?
Does this mean we're supposed to listen to him?
Does this uh give him the same?
Jeff, let me ask you a question.
Timothy McVeigh was very public.
He told everybody why he blew up the Mura building in Oklahoma City.
Do you remember why?
The it was the IRS and the federal government out of control and abusive.
It was the Waco invasion.
He had had it, he saw the federal government, Janet Reno and Bill Clinton literally kill the branch dividians with fire and with tanks, they blew up the branch dividian complex.
Janet Reno said that children were at risk, and then there had been the IRS uh Ruby Ridge or something.
He just saw an oppressive government out of control, and that was what he did.
Now there was at the time nobody was interested in trying to understand, nobody wanted to make him a hero.
Nobody now that the left will tell you today, well, come on, 153 people died, Rush.
I mean, oh, we're only talking about three or four people here with with Dorner's.
Oh, it's okay to go out and murder four people if you're fighting for against racism and so forth.
But 153 people, what if Dorner had killed ten, Is there a number where if Dorner had killed that many that you would have a problem supporting him?
And they they shut down at uh at that point.
Now, don't anybody misunderstand here.
What we're trying to do is point out the hypocrisy and the inconsistency of the left.
Nobody here is is in any way advocating the actions taken by either of these two guys.
That's the point.
Nobody here defends Timothy McVeigh, and nobody here defends Chris Dorner.
The only people defending Chris Dorner are people in the Democrat Party and on the American left.
That's where the hypocrisy and the inconsistency is.
And it is uh, you know, it what about Dorner, Mark Lamont Hill says, hey, we can have two thoughts at the same time.
We can condemn this guy and praise him at the same time.
But nobody else, only Dorner.
It's a specific circumstance.
Van Jones, the well-known communist sympathizer, ex-Obama administration um czar, is warning the Democrats don't take Marco Rubio lightly.
He is and will be very dangerous to us in the future.
