Time Text
The views expressed by the host on this program, and that would be me, make more sense than anything anybody else out there happens to be saying.
And you know why?
Because this is a smart show.
It's a good show, and we are only interested in getting things right.
And that's what we pursue.
And we do.
We get things right.
And we get a right, we say so.
And that irritates people.
Great to have you here, my friends L. Rushbaugh at the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
Telephone number 800 282-2882, email address L Rushbow at EIBNet.com.
I want to grab a phone call real quick because this I forgot this, and I thought about stealing this and then telling H.R. Telecaller to go take a hike.
But I don't give a caller credit for this.
This is Grace in New York City.
Hi, Grace, I'm glad you called and thank you very much.
Hello.
Oh, Rush, I love you.
I love you.
I've been listening since the first week in July on WABC when you were on from nine to twelve um ten to twelve.
Do you remember?
Yeah, oh gosh, I'll never forget.
1988.
You're going all the way back.
And you were the first and I was apolitical until I just turned on the radio and heard your wonderful voice.
Well I said, Oh my God, somebody that's saying what I think.
Let me just I really appreciate that because you know I I I was by no means the first guy to do a talk show in New York, but I was the first one you noticed, so I'm really you know, I was uh a mother with kids.
I turned on the radio, I heard your wonderful voice, and you and you see, and you say things nicely.
You know, some of the other people at that time were a little abrasive, but you said things nicely and you made so much sense and you were entertaining, and I agreed with you.
Aren't you sweet?
I appreciate that.
Really think.
Why do I remember that you didn't remember?
Do you remember when you start you were gonna leave and Governor Patterson at the time was happy he t that you were gonna go?
I I had forgotten this, but that's here's here's here's the here's her point.
Phil Mickelson says sixty-two, sixty-three percent, it doesn't make sense.
I'm thinking of leaving California, and everybody jumps in his chili and everybody gets in his case and he has to apologize and says he regrets talking it publicly.
When I said that I left New York because of high taxes, the then governor, David Patterson says, Well, if I had known that we could get rid of Limbaugh, I would have raised taxes sooner.
So your point is in New York, they were happy to wave goodbye to me.
The governor, the governor made it plain he was happy to get rid of me, and if and if high taxes were the reason, then bring it on.
With Mickelson, uh they were upset that Mickelson was gonna leave in California, but in New York they were happy I was gonna leave.
And I know what I know what your point is.
Here you have the governor of a state essentially saying if I had known that I could get rid of this guy by punishing him with the tax code, I would have done it sooner.
Rush.
Yeah.
Rush.
Oh, wait.
I want to tell you something.
The reason why they dislike you, I don't want to use the word hate, is because they know your fans, we love you so much, and and they're just jealous of you.
And we do love you so much.
Well, you know, I uh I know that there is this incredible loyalty that the audience has to this show, and I am eternally grateful for it.
I I've tried in any number of ways I've have to be able to thank people for it.
And it's it's uh they're always inadequate.
But I gotta tell you, I I'm deeply moved by what you've said.
I really do appreciate it.
Well, keep going, Rush, and God bless you.
Thank you.
I appreciate it.
I'm not going anywhere.
I uh no way.
No, it's this is it this is still too much fun.
And uh there's another reason.
All of this that's happening is going to implode, just like it imploded in the Soviet Union.
Folks, socialism has never worked anywhere.
It always implodes.
It always fails.
And Obama is nothing special.
He's not a Messiah, he doesn't have a magic wand that can turn a demonstrated failure of a system into a success.
It is going to go the way of the dinosaur.
The question is when and how much damage is done in the process.
It's a question of timing.
Uh it could be hastened if we had a little bit more political activism at and leadership at the elected level.
But this can't be sustained.
It can't work.
It never has worked.
And what's going to happen is like I think it was Churchill or Margaret Thatcher said the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of the other guy's money.
You run out of other people's money.
Now, in our case, we can print.
Italy can't print money.
Greece can't print money.
We can.
So we can continue the charade longer than other nations have been able to.
But at some point, this is going to collapse on itself.
The objective is to make sure the country is not permanently destroyed in the process of this happening.
But this that Obama is trying, this that he wants to do cannot work.
It cannot work mathematically.
It cannot work politically.
It cannot work ideologically.
It never has.
Nowhere has it ever worked.
At any time in human history, Obama's way has never worked.
And what will happen eventually is that the beneficiaries of people who think that they are the beneficiaries, the people who are totally relying on government.
At some point, and it may not be my lifetime, I don't know, but at some point it's going to stop.
The gravy train is going to end.
They're going, they're in for a huge shock and surprise.
The low information people are going to be stunned into reality at some point.
There's no avoiding it.
Now, hopefully, we can hasten this with future elections.
And I know that looks bleak.
But at some point, everything Obama believes in is going to go down the tubes because it always has.
We have, call it whatever you want, liberalism, progressivism, It is all built on a foundation of lies.
The people who espouse it can't be honest about it.
The people who believe in it cannot tell you what their real plans are.
That's why the Democrats have not done a budget.
The reason, the sole reason the Democrats have not done a budget is to hide their true intentions.
There have been some other reasons to do it.
Not doing a budget allows them to accomplish more of what they want because they're doing it in the dark, under the cover of darkness, and they're doing it crisis to crisis to crisis to crisis.
But it's it's dishonest.
Like Reagan said about the Soviet Union.
They're going to implode of their own immorality.
And he was right that it eventually will happen to every communist or socialist setup.
Now some last longer than others and get North Korea, what's going to happen there?
That's there even North Korea at some point may not be in our lifetime, but that's going to blow up.
Cuba's going to blow up.
Look at the Chicoms are engaged in a shell game right now.
The ChICOMs wouldn't be where they are if it weren't for capitalism.
They can't admit it, so they're taking trying to keep communist control over as much of their society as they can.
I mean the biggest fear that the Chicoms have is that the people live out in the country want to move to the cities.
The ChICOM challenge, they've got to create jobs in the countryside to keep the peasants there.
If they overrun the cities looking for work, there's uh there's big big trouble.
Uh But the ChICOM solution, the Chicom route to economic power has been capitalism.
So that's why I'm not going anywhere.
It is going to happen.
It is going to implode.
It can't do anything other than that.
As I say, it's what happens in the meantime.
Just how damaged is the country going to be.
And the potential for damage is great.
I mean, real havoc is being wreaked here.
This country is being divided purposely along racial lines and class lines.
I find it I find it really really stunning.
We are going backwards in this country.
We are separating people by class.
We are separating people by race.
We are not encouraging people to do better.
We are not inspiring people to be the best they can be.
We are essentially acknowledging that people are not very good and don't have much hope.
We are, well not we, the Obama people, are thriving by telling their voters who they ought to hate, who they ought to oppose, who they ought to try to eliminate, wipe out in the political sense.
And it's all based on race or other forms of ethnicity is terrible.
And now the Gallup poll is out, and we've lost our optimism.
And I don't think it's a coincidence.
The level of optimism in this country is at a low, not seen since 1979.
Jimmy Carter.
Sure.
Only 39% of the people of this country are optimistic about the country.
Now, I checked the email when I mentioned this in the first hour secondary.
People sent me an email.
Well, how do you explain Obama being re-elected?
It makes perfect sense.
If you're sitting out there and you're in a defeatist frame of mind, and you have no hope for the future of then you vote for the guy who's who's uh who's telling you that there's a way of dealing with all this, and then he's in the process of fixing it, making it fair or what have you.
But I think it makes perfect sense that the lowest level of optimism since 1979 would result in Obama being re-elected.
There's a lot of factors, by the way, that go into why Obama was re-elected, and largely it's not enough Romney voters turned out.
That's a whole nother discussion for a whole other day.
But we've got, we're in the midst here of, I think designed, and I don't say this lightly.
We're in the midst here of designed class and race wars.
They're brewing out there.
The president of the United States in an inaugural address, the president of the United States was filled with venom for his political opponents, and there are 60 some odd million of them who voted against.
It's not just the Republicans in Washington.
There's 67 million Americans who voted against Obama.
He declared war against them too.
He declared war against Republicans and, by extension, anybody who voted for them.
We've got the biggest domestic challenge this country's faced in a long time.
Under the guise of fixing all of these horrors that went on in our past, we're heading right back to them.
We are reconstructing those horrors under the guise of fixing it all.
Finally.
But my my point here is that it has never worked, and it isn't going to work here.
And at some point, I don't know what's going to cause it, and this is not rose-colored glass eyesight or any of that.
I'm just telling you my instincts, gut instincts, prediction, future, what have you.
I think at some point, this country breeds people who want to be good, be the best, who want prosperity.
It breeds them.
And at some point, people are going to awaken and demand better.
And realize that it's going to be up to them.
Because the longer this goes on, the longer it's going to be demonstrated to people, the more it's going to be demonstrated that all these promises are empty.
That all this talk about everybody getting a fair shot and hard work, resulting happen.
And it's going to get uglier before it gets better.
But it's what was elected.
Anyway, sorry for the long dissertation, but um in in response to our last caller, that's that's why I'm hanging in there because I want to be here.
When it bottoms out and rebounds.
So if you think that we can't do any better, why not vote for Obama?
If if you think, if you're part of the uh the new group of pessimists, you say, what difference does it make?
I'll vote for Obama.
What the hell?
I'll I'll I'll vote for the first black president, so at least they won't call me a racist.
What the hell?
I don't need to I don't want to learn anybody new.
If you think that you can't do any better, if you think that if you think the uh the whole thing's over, just I'll vote for Obama.
Why not vote for Obama?
What difference does it make anyway?
Well, you we were outnumbered by the takers in the last election.
Makers didn't show up.
Anyway, uh, ladies and gentlemen, some business people are big into New Year's resolutions.
Other business people just make it happen.
Some people sit around and tell you what they're gonna do.
Some people sit around and tell you what they think they're gonna do.
Some people sit around and tell themselves what they're gonna do, and other people go do it.
Now, 2013 is gonna be a huge year for smart business people.
Gonna have to be smart.
There are a lot of obstacles in the road out there.
The president of the United States is doing devastating damage to this country.
No question about it.
So you're gonna have to work smarter and be smarter every day.
And if you're in business, one of the ways you're gonna be smart is reducing the bottom line.
Reducing the I mean the overhead.
You're gonna have to get your costs down while not impacting your service or your product.
And there's a great way, if that defines you, if I've just described you, let me suggest something to you, Regis offices.
Regis offices are for people who just make it happen.
When you move your office to a Regis officer uh office center, you are eliminating a lot of distractions.
And all you do is get down to business.
You have to worry about leases, you don't have to worry about staff, you don't have to worry about benefits, you don't have to worry about compliance, you don't have to worry about equipment, you don't have to worry about furniture, you don't have to worry about maintenance, you don't have to worry about the air conditioning, you don't have to worry about any of that.
All you do is show up and work.
And Regis does all that other stuff.
And then when you leave, it's Regis's place.
When you're there, it's yours.
The receptionist is yours, the phone number is yours, the conference room is yours, the carpeting is yours, the equipment is yours, the air conditioning is yours, the space is yours.
When you leave, it's Regis's.
It's theirs.
You pay for it when you're there.
So if you have a home office, but you have to meet clients someplace, you want it to be presentable, regis.
Every one of their offices is in a spot-on prestigious location, great addresses.
They're comfortable, updated environments, oriented toward getting business done.
There's what you do.
Call Regis at 1800 offices.
Tell them you heard me describing what they offer.
Mention my name.
And if you decide to do space with a Regis office, you'll get two months free.
1800 offices is the number.
You can look them up on the web at REGUS.com slash rush.
Regis.com slash rush.
That's a lot of examples that you can see custom workspaces and offices that many people in this audience are now occupying.
Regis.com.
Diane in North Sutton, New Hampshire.
Great to have you on the program.
Hello.
Hi.
How are you?
Very good.
Thank you.
It's a pleasure to talk to you.
Well, I appreciate that.
Thanks so much.
Great.
Um what I have to say was that I think Phil Mickelson is getting a really bad shake.
Yeah overall.
I mean, why is he being chastised for the selfish access?
I'll tell you what's a great question because Phil Mickelson is being accused of being selfish.
He ought to recognize that people of this country have been given the shaft by the rich for a number of years.
It's about time the rich paid their fair share, damn it.
It's about time the rich gave back.
It's about time the rich gave back what they stole.
And Mickelson, he made a mistake of making this.
He didn't care about anybody.
He's only in it for him.
He wants what he makes.
He don't want to share it with anybody.
That's the attitude.
And his agent or somebody got to him and said, Phil, here's what we're dealing with.
Described what I just said.
So Phil's okay, I'll go out and apologize.
Right.
But however, we can make the point that when did he start complaining about his taxes?
I mean, he didn't complain about it at 40%, 45.
He didn't even complain about it at 50 or 55 percent.
I mean, it didn't it it didn't he didn't start complaining until he reached sixty-two or sixty-three percent.
Right.
You could make the argument that I mean, how selfish is that.
Well, I agree.
I agree.
The only thing I'm not to be a nitpicker here, we don't know if he was complaining privately.
We do know his tipping point was sixty percent.
That's when he decided to go public with a great point.
Okay, folks, time to get to the audio sound bites.
There are too many good ones here, and I got I gotta get to some, but I do want to point something out to you.
Mrs. Clinton today, in her testimony this morning before the Senate committee.
Get this now.
Mrs. Clinton said that she has always said the Benghazi attack was caused by militants, and that simply isn't true.
Mrs. Clinton for weeks went out and blamed the video.
She blamed protests.
She did not blame Al Qaeda.
She said today that she always blamed Al Qaeda.
She always said that it wasn't a protest, that it was and that f it simply is not true.
But then again, we should not be surprised when a Clinton lies under oath.
You see, it all depends on what the definition of is.
But she did say that.
She cut an ad, a TV ad with Obama that ran in Pakistan, blaming the video, blaming this video maker.
The first hour and a half today at the Senate committee hearing, there wasn't even a question about the video.
Not one question about the video.
And they blamed all of that on the video for weeks, and there wasn't one question about.
That's what I mean about the ruling class circling the wagons.
Okay to the sound bites.
Here is um uh Hillary opening the hearing with tears.
Uh you know, it was her best moment of the 2008 primaries when she cried.
Remember that?
Saved herself in New Hampshire.
And and it always works for Oprah.
And Lance Armstrong didn't cry.
People ripped into him.
Here's Hillary opening up this morning.
For me, this is not just a matter of policy, it's personal.
I stood next to President Obama as the Marines carried those flag draped caskets off the plane at Andrews.
I put my arms around the mothers and fathers, the sisters and brothers, the sons and daughters, and the wives left alone to raise their children.
Right.
I blame the video for it.
I told him when we got this guy, we put him in general.
The video did it.
Okay, you heard her voice crack and so forth.
So let's let's go back to that moment in New Hampshire where Hillary tried to rescue her campaign with some tears is January 7, 2008.
It's not easy.
It's not easy.
Um and I couldn't do it if I just didn't, you know, passionately believe it was the right thing to do.
You know, I have so many opportunities from this country.
I just don't want to see us fall backwards.
Oh no.
So I don't want to see us fall backwards.
This is Obama guy's gonna go.
And that resuscitated her campaign.
Now she didn't get elected, but she was in deep doo-doo.
She's losing caucus and primaries and New Hampshire saved her bacon.
And then it was Operation Chaos.
Orchestrated and operated by me.
Saved her bacon later on in the campaign season.
Here is Mrs. Clinton.
Talking about well, she just washed her hands at the Susan Rice business right off the bat.
I personally was not focused on talking points.
I was focused on keeping our people safe.
I have a very serious uh threat environment in Yemen.
It turned out we had people getting over that wall in Cairo, doing damage until we got them out.
We had a serious threat against our embassy in Tunis.
I had to call the president of Tunisia and beg him to send reinforcements, which he did to finally save our embassy, which could have been disastrous.
I wasn't involved in the talking points process.
What she's saying there is don't saddle me with Susan Rice.
I don't know what Susan Rice said.
Susan Rice went on those shows and blamed the video.
I was too busy saving America.
I was too busy saving ambassadors.
I was too busy working.
I didn't even get to a talking point.
Screw you.
That's what that sound bite was.
Now, this is the for many people, I give the highlight.
High point.
After about an hour and fifteen minutes of kissing her butt.
And by the way, this I've I I've never seen anything like this today.
This the fawning over Hillary Clinton.
If you have a chance, go to Rushlimbaugh.com and and get hold of my monologue in the first hour.
I'm running out of time.
I don't want to repeat it, but I've never seen anything like it.
Hour and 15 minutes after of having her butt kissed, a Republican finally asked a simple question that got under her skin.
It was uh Republican senator from Wisconsin Ron Johnson.
He said, We were misled.
It were supposedly protests, and an assault sprang out of that.
And that was easily ascertained that that was not the fact.
The American people could have known that within days.
But they didn't know that.
In other words, you guys kept talking about the video.
And it wasn't the video.
This was a planned attack.
With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans.
Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they'd go kill Americans?
What difference at this point does it make?
It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator.
Now, honestly, I will do my best to answer your questions about this.
But the fact is that people were trying in real time to get to the best information.
That's it is from my perspective less important today looking backwards as to why these militants decided they did it than to find them and bring them to justice.
What did she do to save anybody?
Can anybody cite a single thing?
She didn't do anything to save anybody.
So she gets this question, yeah, you guys are basically blaming the video and so forth and so on.
And she goes on offense.
What difference does it make?
At this point.
A protester, a guy's out for a walk.
Well, what difference is it?
What the difference is that you were lying through your teeth about it, Mrs. Clinton and you knew it.
That's what difference.
And you talk about being honest with the American people saving lives.
What did she do to save anybody?
Can she cite a single thing?
What difference does it make?
Our motive doesn't matter.
How they're gonna prevent this from happening in the future.
More money.
That's right.
We need more funding.
That's what we need the State Department.
We need more money.
She just said it was her job to prevent this from happening in the future, but she's not even concerned here with Motive, why does it matter?
What difference does it make at this point?
Of course, what difference is what difference does it make when your husband lied under it?
What difference does it make when your husband had all those affairs?
What difference does it make?
Whether you lied about the vast right wing conspiracy.
What difference is anything make?
Why should you be held accountable?
I'm above being held accountable, Mrs. Clinton thinks.
Who are you to be questioning me?
Don't you understand what's going on here?
The purpose this is to make me look good.
Who the hell do you think you are, Senator Johnson?
What difference does it make how it happened?
Fact is I'm out trying to save lives.
So now Mrs. Clinton says, what difference does it make?
Well, let's get a montage here.
Let's go back.
Listen to this.
I don't care how offensive this video was, and it was terribly offensive.
And we should shun it.
This video is disgusting and reprehensible.
It appears to have a deeply cynical purpose to denigrate a great religion and to provoke rage.
Let's be clear.
These protests were in reaction to a video that had spread to the region.
You had a video that was released by somebody who lives here, sort of a shadowy character, who is extremely offensive video.
The unrest we've seen has been in reaction to a video.
It was a crude and disgusting video, sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world.
It was a spontaneous, not a premeditated response, a direct result of a heinous and offensive video.
I know there are some who ask, why don't we just ban such a video?
And the answer is enshrined in our laws.
Our Constitution protects the right to practice free speech.
What difference does it make?
The administration lied to the American people.
What difference does it make the president lied to the American people?
What difference does it make that Jay Carney lied to the American people?
What difference does it make that Susan Rice lied to the American people on six different shows or five or what difference does it make?
Hillary Clinton lied to the American people.
What difference does any of it make?
Don't you understand what we're doing here?
What difference does it make?
I had to stand next to flag draped coffins.
I had a hug dead family members.
What do you difference does it make?
What difference does it make?
You're the one that spread the story.
What difference does it make?
You're the one that told us why this supposedly happens.
We're talking about four dead Americans.
What difference does it make?
And you tell us that you're going to make sure it doesn't happen again, and you can't even be honest with people about why it happened.
Back in October, Hillary told Charles Woods, the father of Tyrone Woods, who was one of the four dead Americans.
Hillary told that guy's father that the U.S. would make sure that the person who made that video is arrested and prosecuted.
What difference does it make?
What difference does it make?
That everybody was lying through their teeth about this because the truth might have imperiled Obama's re-election.
What difference does it make?
Now I mentioned that I have never seen the amount of fawning butt kissing that I saw at this hearing this morning from senators from both parties, and we have a montage.
Now, this is not going to be easy for you to hear, but this happened.
And I'm I'm my stream of consciousness monologue at the first hour of this program was based on this.
I want to thank you for coming.
I know you've had some uh health issues uh still undergoing, and yet you're here, and I think we all do respect the tremendous amount of hard work that you put forth over the last four years.
Thank you for your service and thank you for the kindness you've shown this committee.
We're glad to see you here and wish you all the best.
I'd like to join my colleagues in uh thanking you for your service sincerely, and also appreciate the fact you're here testifying and glad that you're looking in good health.
Thank you for your testimony and also thank you, as others have said, for your service.
Traveling over a million miles and uh more than a hundred countries.
As a doctor, I will tell you I have seen you work yourself to exhaustion.
Not for your own benefit, but for the benefit of the people of this country, and the country is grateful for that.
Thank you, Madam Secretary.
We thank you.
We thank you for your outstanding and dedicated service to this nation, and we are proud of you.
What difference does it make?
Here you have this is the the ruling class circling the wagons.
Here you have we've what is this about?
How did four Americans lose their lives?
We have somebody in a job, totally unsuited for it, not qualified, wasn't around, lied to the American people about why it happened, and we get this kind of fawning.
Butt kissing.
Oh you're wonderful, all the miles, oh the service, oh the concern.
The American people are forever thankful for you.
Oh my God.
In their dreams, the American people are thankful.
But that's what they want.
They want every citizen getting up every day and having that exact attitude about everybody in government.
Oh, you're wonderful.
Oh, you're doing everything for us.
Oh, you're working so hard.
Oh, you care so deeply.
Oh, you've got the best wardrobe.
Oh, I'm sorry that you had a concussion.
Oh, you've really done well to overcome your help.
Oh, you're just the best.
Oh, you're so beautiful.
Oh, you care so much.
Your compassion is unparalleled.
Oh my god, we're so lucky to have you.
Blah blah blah.
Puke fest.
Back in a second.
Let's not forget here, folks, it was Hillary Clinton and Obama who got us into Libya.
Decided to get rid of Moamar Qaddafi, put Chris Stevens in harm's way.
Hillary and Obama helped unleash the Arab Spring.
Overthrow an ally in the war on terror.
They gave the arms to the Libyan rebels and money.
What difference does it make?
Well, all are great plans.
I had uh I hope to squeeze two more phone calls in here.
But it isn't gonna happen because I'm out of precious busy broadcast moments.
That's just the programming format and the clock.
Now take a brief time out, we'll come back and wrap it up after this.
Rand Paul put it best.
This morning in the Senate version of the hearings and Mrs. Clinton, he said not to know of these requests for security cost these people their lives.
I don't suspect your motives, Mrs. Clinton, but it was a failure of leadership.
There is a culpability to the worst tragedy since 911.
She's out there saying we didn't know of these requests for security.
Of course not.
She's just a Secretary of State.
And what difference does it make anyway that people requested more security?
What difference does that make?
In fact, that I think is the Obama administration.
What difference does it make?
Export Selection
