Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 Podcast.
Cast the Rebob.
Hi folks, how are you?
Great to have you here.
It's another three hours of broadcast excellence hosted by me, the all-knowing, the all-caring, I really care.
The all-fensing, the all feeling, the all-concern really concerned Maha Rushi.
Here behind the golden EIB microphone, another three hours at Broadcast Excellence, the most listened to radio talk show in the country.
A fact that frustrates Chris Matthews at MSNBC lamenting that no matter what happens, I never lose.
I never lose.
There's always a bunch of lonely people like you driving around willing to listen to me, no matter what happens.
And I'm glad you're there.
All you lonely people.
For those of you who know what Thanksgiving is, we're going to uh, as we always do on the day before Thanksgiving, recite the real story of Thanksgiving as uh as written by me in my first book Cond book, C I Told You So.
And that'll come up in the uh in the last hour of the program.
We may as well do open line Friday today, not gonna be here uh on Friday, obviously.
So whatever you want to talk about on the phones today is fine.
Telephone number 80082-2882, email address lrushball at eibnet.com.
Since Hillary Clinton has arrived on the scene and called for everybody to calm down.
Hamas has executed a this is after Hillary shows up and asks for calm.
Hamas has executed alleged Israeli spies and kicked and spat on their bodies.
Dragged one of them through the streets of Gaza behind a motorcycle, and then they celebrated.
Oh, and then Hamas blew up a bus full of Israeli civilians in Tel Aviv, and they celebrated that too.
Maybe that's how Hamas calms down.
Who is Hamas?
What is Hamas?
Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.
It is the Muslim Brotherhood.
I don't get it.
Hillary said she talked to Morsi.
Well, what happened?
I don't understand.
Why don't why don't Obama and Hillary just tell Hamas if they don't behave that they're gonna they're gonna tell Morsi and get them in trouble?
Well, of course, Morsi knows Morsi's probably behind all this.
Mohammed Morsi in Egypt.
Hamas an offshoot of the Muslim Muslim Brotherhood.
If Obama and Hillary don't have any pull with this guy, what the only thing we haven't given this guy that he wants is the blind shake.
We have given Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood untold billions of dollars.
We put the filmmaker behind the video that caused all the problems.
We'll put him in jail for a year.
You would think we would have some pull with the guy.
Well, I guess we won't till we give him the uh the blind shake.
By the way, uh it's it's becoming a broken record.
I purposely don't do this, my purposely watched CNN's coverage for just 20 minutes this morning, and I've seen it my whole life.
The latest outbreak of violence in the Middle East, the Israelis minding their own business, not doing anything, and all of a sudden rockets start landing.
And the next thing that happens is the media just gets over there as fast as they can and shows Hamas suffering.
The Hamas people, they have mastered the art of creating the photo up grievance and suffering.
And of course, the media is a sucker for that every time.
The media is is uh never sympathetic to self-reliant people.
The media never sympathetic to people they think are in the majority, because anybody in the majority, therefore has an unfair advantage.
And so Hamas and the Palestinians at large are the minority, and Israel's a big bad wolf.
So the fact that innocent Israelis are wiped out in an attack, that they're dragged through the streets, the backs of motorcycles, and in spat on.
It's understandable because of how mean they treat the Palestinians.
And the Palestinians of uh, as I say, they have perfected creating a scene of misery and grievance and destruction for media cameras.
And so they'll let Wolf Blitzer take a tour of a house supposedly destroyed by an Israeli rocket.
All complete with the sobbing, crying children afraid to even breathe the air.
It hasn't changed in all my life.
The way this story plays out hasn't changed.
Ceasefire, the last thing that needs to happen is a ceasefire.
The only thing, the only time I you know, I was telling snurly.
Folks, they're blaming me all over the media again today now for just basically being alive.
The problem with America is that I'm alive and I'm breathing.
And it's all it's all over the view, it's all over CNN, it's all over MSNBC.
I may be the most likable, lovable, hated figure in this country right now.
And one of the reasons why is that I am the mayor of Realville.
And I'm going to tell you, this conflict is like every other.
There isn't going to be a solution.
There isn't going to be a winner until one side militarily defeats the other.
This is a world governed by the aggressive use of force.
We do not live in a world governed by speeches and words and doctors and clean water and all that.
Now in America, we may think we can live in a world like that.
Touchy feely, uh, but the rest of the world doesn't operate that way, as we are seeing whenever we go.
But nevertheless, I I uh I know people will accuse me of being cynical, but I thought Obama was going to be able to stop all of this.
I I thought the election of Obama and certainly the re-election of Obama was about unity and love and peace and all of that.
No, yes, you can accuse me of being a cynic.
Uh maybe I am, but people believed it.
People believed it.
No, it's not that he hasn't had a chance to work his Nobel Magic yet, Snerdley.
See, you're missing it.
I'm I'm still so far ahead of the game here, it's embarrassing.
It's not that he hasn't had a chance.
This is all the Republicans' fault, or it's the Israelis' fault.
It's all a power, it's it's all the fault of the powerful.
And Obama can only do so much.
It's much worse than he knew when he was elected, including this.
He thought he knew what was going on, but no.
I mean, Mrs. Clinton, when was the last time she was home?
Two days after Benghazi, when did she flee?
Speaking of that, as we mentioned yesterday, White House is now claiming that uh uh it was the office of the Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper's office that edited any mention of terrorists from the talking points that was given to Susan Rice.
And she went on the TV shows.
The only problem with that is that almost a week ago, last Thursday, Clapper told the Senate that he had no idea who edited the talking points.
But the White House said yesterday that he did it.
I can almost feel for this guy.
A, he looks like Ed Rollins, B, he's being dumped on here.
And you know, I I sometimes have a hard time remembering what I said last week as well, but I am not the top officer of the entire intelligence community.
I'm also not testifying under oath when I speak here on the EIB network.
I always do try to tell the truth.
There's nothing to gain by lying, and I don't do that.
Trying to speak to the best of my knowledge.
But we all know that the orders that Susan Rice got came from the White House.
And the White House is dumping it on clapper, but what's anybody gonna do to clap her?
So we're having the the same you could go get video tape of any Israeli Hamas conflict, war, whatever, and from ten years ago, five years ago, play those tapes today would be no different.
The coverage would be no different.
The cameras, the the pictures would be no different.
The commentary would be no different.
And the never-ending incessant calls for a ceasefire would be no different because it's always happens too.
We must stop the violence, Mr. Limbaugh.
That's something that we almost work to.
Yeah, trying to stop the violence my whole life.
In fact, we've been trying to stop the violence before I was born.
This violence, we've been trying to stop it.
It's not going to stop until one side can't perpetrate any anymore.
And who knows if that would be allowed to happen.
I think these Hamas guys, I think they have perfected playing the victim better than Democrat voters have.
And that's what this is all about.
They are experts at playing the victim.
They are experts at playing the aggrieved.
You have to understand that war is Hamas source of income.
When they attack Israel, they know that the U.S. is going to rush in with bags of money.
A ceasefire is Hamas's way of demanding more money from the U.S. in exchange for the ceasefire.
I've seen this.
There's nothing new about this.
And in fact, there's a real danger in that too, because real people are losing their lives.
Real terrorism is taking place here.
And it's made to look like an ordinary everyday occurrence, which over there it almost is.
A sad story today from the Associated Press out of Chicago, ladies and gentlemen.
Feeling the pinch of the sluggish economic recovery.
Many Americans, oh, by the way, somebody on the staff do this.
I want to eye cow this.
I am going to make a prediction about the fiscal cliff budget deal.
I'm going to make, I'm going to make a prediction today, and I want to make sure that we can go back and revisit.
I want to remind ourselves to go back and revisit this date, November 21st, sometime in the first three to four months, however long it takes to get the this fiscal cliff deal done.
It won't happen by the end of this year.
I mean, always say, make a note, but we never remember what date it was.
Well, don't forget this day.
Make a note, put post-its.
I'm gonna eye cow on all my computers.
I'm gonna make a prediction or what's gonna happen.
I just want to see.
And I'll tell you what prediction coming up.
But first off, this AP story, feeling the pinch of the sluggish economic recovery, many Americans setting out on the nation's annual Thanksgiving migration.
Is that what we have?
Thanksgiving migration.
We are migrating now.
Used to be over the was over the river and through the woods to now we're migrating.
Many Americans setting out on the nation's annual Thanksgiving migration had to sacrifice summer vacations.
Millions had to rely on relatives for airfare.
Millions had to scour the internet for travel deals to ensure they made it home.
Yes, this has never happened before.
People had to sacrifice summer vacations.
They had to rely on relatives for airfare.
They have to search for bargains.
And it's not just tight family finances making travel tough.
The The evil, rotten, mean-spirited extremist airlines who are struggling to save on jet fuel and other expenses have cut the number of flights, which has led to an increase in airfares and sardined airplanes.
Those hitting the highways face high gasoline prices and rising tolls on the bridges and roads that were rebuilt with the stimulus money four years ago.
And now, with talk of the nation sliding off a fiscal cliff come January, many travelers said that they're expecting sacrifices for pricey holiday journals have become the norm.
Oh woe is them.
Who do you think these people voted for?
Chris Zikkowski, 43-year-old locomotive engineer from Chicago suburb of Huntley said, Yeah, you become immune to it, I guess.
Said this as he hugged his wife and three children goodbye at O'Hare and lamented he couldn't afford to join them on their holiday trip to New Jersey.
Do you believe families in America in 2012 separated at Thanksgiving?
Dad stays home, wife and kids off to New Jersey.
And that's considered a holiday today.
You have to cut back on things just to make sure you can afford to do stuff like this so that they can go visit grandma, he said, referring to his son and his two daughters.
I got a couple stories in the stack that this is it, folks.
That we have finished this nation and the world have finished.
Two books out about this.
We're over.
There's no more economic growth of 3%, 5%, 6% a year.
It's over.
This is it.
Economic growth of 0.91% a year is it for us and the rest of the world.
We have burned through whatever there was to win and gain since the industrial revolution, and now the new norm, the new reality, and this is it.
This is as good as it is ever going to get.
If the nation's travel patterns are any kind of barometer for the state of the economy, the travel forecast for Thanksgiving week suggests a slight upward nudge as people and businesses recover slowly from the 2007-2009 recession.
Army Private First Class Jordan Clark, Biloxi, Mississippi, said he was only able to fly because relatives pooled their resources to buy his ticket.
What is this?
I guess this is this never happened before.
Where families had to pool resources to...
During...
It's been difficult.
My parents help out.
My grandparents help out.
He was on a flight for Chicago to San Antonio.
He wasn't so lucky over the summer, though.
He had to make the same journey by bus.
In what became a three-day ordeal...
Bus broke down.
It was it was it was horror out there.
But it did save him more than $200.
Some families are even agreeing to move Thanksgiving.
Do you believe this?
This is how dire things have become.
Thanksgiving, some families are moving to Saturday.
So that those who are traveling long distance.
Hitchhiking, buses.
Have a chance to cheaper off-peak fares and avoid crowds, said a transportation researcher at DePaul University.
I sorry to be cynical.
I read I don't know.
I mean, I wit's what I mean that it's what they voted for.
Maybe, maybe, ladies and we we should have canceled Thanksgiving.
Aren't there very many Americans who know what it is anyway?
And it look at look at all the poor suffering.
They can't participate in it.
Families are being you believe in America in 2010, Thanksgiving is splitting up families.
I have it here.
I saw that on TV, and I have it here in his AP story.
Families are being divided by Thanksgiving.
What kind of holiday is that?
What kind of holiday is it that divides American families?
What kind of holiday is it?
What kind of cruel tradition from the founding of this country is it?
What kind of holiday is it that makes children and mothers have to separate from their fathers?
Of course, in certain circles, that's not a bad Thing if you're a feminazi.
Maybe we should have just canceled Thanksgiving so that the poor don't have to suffer by seeing what other people are doing and they can't do.
By the way, Marco Rubio, and I'm meant to mention this the past two days, and I I screwed up.
I didn't give this enough priority, and it deserved top billing.
And I've I let this slip by, but he's been Romney'd.
Rubio has been Romney'd.
The media is already beginning in their effort to do to Rubio what they did to Romney with the contraception question at the debate, Republican primary debate in January.
I have details of that and expert analysis.
And lots of other stuff too.
All coming up when we get back, plus your telephone calls.
We're doing open line Friday on Wednesday today at 800-282-2882.
Sit tight.
Be right back.
Good news, folks.
Great news from the Middle East.
The war is over.
Hillary Clinton has just announced a ceasefire.
The ceasefire happened when Hillary went to Egypt and told Morsi that there was going to be a ceasefire.
And Morsey said, okay, okay, okay.
And now there's a ceasefire.
And it goes into effect at 9 o'clock Eastern time in the uh in the in the region.
So uh Hillary flew into Egypt and told Morsi the way it was going to be, and that's the way it is.
And we had a ceasefire.
Very important.
Very, very now the uh the Muslim Brotherhood and Egypt are gonna assume, I just heard Hillary say it, are gonna assume their rightful position as stability makers in the Middle East.
All it took was Hillary showing up, folks.
That's the the takeaway for me is that the war was going on, the acts of terror, the two sides were like little children, except they were killing each other.
They couldn't come to an agreement, they just wouldn't stop.
Uh and and then Hillary decided that she was just gonna have to go there herself and take care of it.
And she did.
She went to Egypt and uh told Morsi what for, and it's over.
It's a it's a beautiful thing.
It took Mrs. Clint to do this, and it's uh it's now done.
I think I've got this down, Pat.
I think I I think I think that's how this is gonna go.
Very important.
So that's being uh portrayed now.
Uh, even on Sesame Street, where everything is famously A-O-K, problems can arise for his residence.
This is uh AP story.
And those problems that includes the Muppets, Cookie Monster grapples with an eating disorder, Oscar the Grouch gets cranky, Mr. Snuffilopicus gets the blues.
But Elmo, Elmo seemed immune to any of that since enjoying his breakout success more than two decades ago, the three and a half year-old red monster has radiated good sheer, love, and all that.
No wonder everyone, adults as well as children, adore Elmo.
The key to Elmo is his innocence, his positiveness, and his sweetness, according to Kevin Clash, the man who created him and once told the AP I'd love to be totally like Elmo.
Well, uh too bad because Clash is out.
There's now a second young child to come forth and say that Kevin Clash, who was Elmo, sexually attacked him.
And this has caused the Sesame Street people to have to now deal with this.
And they said that Kevin Clash, the creator and the actor who is Elmo has to go because they put out a very brief uh press release.
It's a distraction.
Why didn't Penn State think of that?
When the Sandusky thing was why didn't they just, you know, Sandusky's a distraction and he's gone and be done with it.
Nothing to see here.
Sesame Street showing how this is Done.
And maybe I'm still a little bit too cynical.
I still question the timing of all this.
This investigation into Elmo and Kevin Clash and what he'd been doing to little kids has been going on at least since August, we've learned.
But the news comes out after the election.
And what who was a central figure in the election?
Big bird.
We had to save Big Bird.
Of course, you know, Romney was going to kill Big Bird and then put it on the roof of his car and in the cage and take it on vacation with the family.
In the cage next to the dog.
That's what Romney's plans for Big Bird were.
I saw it on TV.
And then we learned that the Elmo actor charged by two men who claim he molested them as minors.
And his lawyers have heard from two more potential accusers.
And it's just that this has not created any kind of an outrage at Sesame Street or outside Sesame Street, nowhere near the kind of outrage that was created at Penn State.
And I think Sesame Street show on the way that it's a distraction and they're kicking a guy out.
Penn State would have just said Sandusky's a distraction.
Why?
Yeah, tackle me Elmo.
Tickle me Elmo, tackle me, Elmo, smother me, Elmo.
Whatever happens there.
From the Bloomberg News.com.
Give thanks for low food prices because they're going to go up next year.
Enjoy Thanksgiving now because next year you may not be able to afford it.
That's right.
Americans may want to freeze the leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner as retail food prices are expected to rise next year.
We actually have a news agency with the lead of a story that your leftovers from Thanksgiving, you want to freeze them for next year.
Because food prices are going to skyrocket.
You know what a food price is going to skyrocket?
Because of the drought.
And you know what caused the drought?
Global warming.
Everything the Democrats and Obama warned us about is happening.
Everything the Republicans said it wasn't happening did happen.
And so now, because the Republicans ignored all the warning signs, Thanksgiving may be unaffordable next year.
Food inflation coming due to a drought.
But let's not forget the impact of higher gas prices, higher gas prices on the way, higher prices for everything on the way, health care.
That's going to happen.
Disposable income is going to take a beating next year.
And so we're going to raise taxes on employers, and we're going to raise taxes on employees.
We have a law out there called Obamacare that drives up the cost of insurance premiums and is forcing companies to cut employees and ours, but we don't get any stories about the coming misery related to Obamacare.
But we have story after story, the coming misery of rising food prices because of the uh because of the drought.
A related story.
More Americans will use food stamps for Thanksgiving this year than ever before.
More Americans will use food stamps to buy their Thanksgiving dinner this year than ever before, according to a new report from the nonprofit government watchdog group, the Sunlight Foundation.
The food stamp challenge, which challenges higher income families to live as if they are on food stamps.
Estimates that a person on food stamps has a budget of about a dollar twenty-five cents per meal.
In other words, a family on food stamps must buy an entire meal per person for less than the cost of an average cup of coffee.
Now, does anybody really think that 40, what is it, 48 million Americans are who are living on food stamps are eating meals that cost less.
What is a six-pack of beer cost that you can buy with food stamps?
And there aren't even any food stamps.
It's a debit card now.
So you know what this is.
There is an effort underway to remove the stigma of being on food stamps.
There is an effort, and accompanying that effort is to make it okay.
In fact, it's an act of courage.
It's valor.
It's an act of courage beyond food stamps.
It's an act of survival.
It's an act of doing what it takes to take care of yourself.
I'm not kidding.
This is what's happening here.
The food stamp challenge challenges higher income families to live as if they are on food stamps.
This Thanksgiving, 42.2 million Americans will be on food stamps, according to the Economic Policy Institute.
And this is not surprisingly, feeding millions of Americans isn't cheap.
The cost of the food stamp program last year 72 billion dollars.
Look at feeding millions of Americans isn't cheap.
It used to be that Americans fed themselves.
It wasn't that long ago either.
Do you remember it, Snurdly?
Do you remember what it was like then?
Americans fed themselves.
But but that has been deemed unfair.
That's that's been deemed practically discriminatory racism, probably, feeding yourself.
And so now we got to remove the stigma of being on food stamps.
More Americans will use food stamps for Thanksgiving.
It's an act of courage.
It's the latest example of people struggling, doing whatever's necessary, take care of themselves.
This is what's underway.
Don't doubt me.
You know, if as much effort were spent to challenge politicians to improve the economy, so we would have more jobs, as there were on convincing people that having the government feed you mean well, we might get somewhere.
But we have more effort being expended teaching people how to let the government feed them than we do an effort being made to improve the economy so people can feed themselves.
But see, this is this is a great example of an issue that the Libs will use to cast conservatives as heartless and mean.
Look at this.
Look at all these millions of Americans on food stamps, because the Republicans don't care.
That's existing.
The Republicans have no heart.
They've sat around in Congress.
This is, by the way, this is how the budget deal is going to go.
You know, forewarning.
They sat around, Republicans, they won the house in 2010, and they let all this happen.
So speaking of which, ladies, Newark Mayor Corey Booker says that he's gonna live on food stamps for at least a week after being challenged on Twitter.
Newark Mayor Corey Booker says he plans on living on food stamps for at least a week because somebody on Twitter challenged him to do so.
The challenge arose when Booker said, and a woman who goes by the name TwitWit talking about the idea Sunday night while discussing the role government should play in funding school breakfast and lunch program.
And during the Twitter exchange, Twitwit said nutrition is not the responsibility of the government.
The conversation soon changed to food stamps.
Why is there a family today too poor to afford breakfast?
Are they not already receiving food stamps?
TwitWit wrote, Let you and I try to live on food stamps in New Jersey and feed a family for a week or a month.
Are you game bookers?
So he had somebody challenging this whole food stamp, the idea that government has to feed people.
And Corey Booker, okay, you want to find out how tough life is.
Let's do it.
Let's live on food stamps.
So we're gonna revive Martin Marvin Martin Sheen, kicking homeless people off of their sewer grades.
And he's gonna sleep for a week to to illustrate and uh call attention, to raise consciousness.
And now the mayor of Newark is doing the same thing.
Quick timeout, we'll be back.
We'll continue with much more on open line Friday on Wednesday.
get back.
*music*
You know, it's a it's interesting.
I'm watching the the media, and there's a whole bunch of cynics that don't really believe the ceasefire is real.
That that uh how can you disrespect Mrs. Clinton that way?
Look, she stopped what she was doing wherever.
She saw a crisis, and she flew into Egypt and met with the Egyptian leadership, Muslim Brotherhood.
I don't know if she met with Morse or not.
She called a press conference and then a ceasefire in an hour and ten minutes.
And there's some people that are doubting this.
Do you believe the level of cynicism out there at our beloved Secretary of State?
I'll throw my two cents in the in the in the uh in the ring here.
I'm being serious here that uh being uh sarcastic, I'm telling you, this is gonna keep happening, even if there is a ceasefire.
It's gonna happen in a week or two or a month or two.
Until Hamas is militarily defeated, this is going to continue.
It's just the way of the world, folks.
That's the military conflicts do not end with negotiation until after one side's beaten into oblivion and unable to conduct military operations.
It's just the way.
Now I know many of you who are under 40 may not have been taught that.
And that may sound too mean and angry and militaristic and and all, but it's really been the way of the world.
Uh the Japanese, there was a we had things called World War II, and it involved uh fighting in Europe and fighting in uh in the Pacific.
And we won in both places.
And just for example, the Japanese, we beat the Japanese.
I mean, people to make walkmans and stuff, you might PlayStation, you might have trouble.
We did, we were at war with them at one time.
And we beat them.
And there was a surrender that took place on the USS Missouri.
You can visit the USS Missouri.
It's a it's a museum ship.
And the Japanese surrendered, and but it wasn't because there were negotiations between us and the Emperor of Japan, is because we wiped them out.
You we we might have heard about this.
We dropped a couple nuclear bombs on them.
I'm sure you've been taught that.
We dropped a couple nuclear bombs.
You've probably been taught that we did it just for the fun of it, because we're mean spirited extremists.
But we actually did it in it was in a war when we dropped those bombs.
And back in those days, you you won wars by killing civilians.
I mean, that's the same thing in Germany.
When we bombed Germany, we were not bombing military targets.
We there wasn't any conflict resolution 101 back.
I know this is going to be shocking news to some of you, but we actually, and not just us, everybody targeted civilians, and that's how you won a war.
And the Japanese then surrendered and they signed the terms of surrender.
And they also pledged to form a new government, and it all happened because we beat them with guns and bullets and rockets and missiles, battleships and airplanes.
And that's been the way of the world.
There hasn't there been a military conflict successfully ended without one side being run out of town, humiliated, defeated, or beaten down to the point they have no will to continue.
And it's the same thing here.
So this ceasefire means nothing in the long term.
Now, in the short term, the way it's going to be reported, Hillary Clinton stopped the fighting.
Which means Obama stopped it.
Because the way it'll happen, Obama got tired of this.
He had he had asked the participants to stop it.
Since Israel wasn't wiped out overnight.
That mission face, you gotta stop this, and you gotta send people over there and make them quit.
And they weren't quitting.
So Hillary had to actually personally go to Egypt.
And she was carrying the instructions from Obama, and the Muslim Brotherhood guy was quaking in his boots when Hillary carried the message from Obama.
And that's how it Happened.
And you will continue to be told that it was words and negotiation and diplomacy and statesmanship which solved the Israeli Palestinian crisis.
And it isn't solved.
And it hasn't been stopped.
And nobody's won it yet.
Snurdley's looking all confused in there.
Anyway, I'm just hey.
This is this is outreach.
Outreach to the young.
Outreach to the youth.
You've got to talk to them on a level they understand, Snurdley.
And then you build on that.
That's how it's done.
Man, folks, it's so exciting.
At two o'clock, we are going to all be able to live through the breakout of peace in the Middle East, a ceasefire.
At two o'clock, peace will break out in the Middle East.
We will actually be able to see it.
Export Selection
