Snerdley said, I'm gonna get some emails too.
Why do you not like interviewing people?
Why folks?
Do you want to sit there and ask people questions that you know the answers to?
I I just have I've I am the expert in the authority.
But I do I sweep that aside once a month and I do the interview for the for the newsletter, the limbo letter that it provides it content that's not found anywhere else.
I don't do any interviews on the program except when a candidate calls and wants to get on, or an author calls and begs to get on.
But we don't do any guests here.
Uh because anyway, that's that's the answer to the question.
Great great to have you back.
L Rushbow at 800-282.
2882, the uh email address L Rushbow at EIB net.com.
Uh one more time.
We have just digitized the limbaugh letter, the the the newsletter.
It's been available in print only.
It's our 20th anniversary, and we now have an app for it at the app store.
It's also on the Kendall Fire, it's uh or or the uh anything with with Google uh Amazon, it's there.
And just search Limbaugh Letter.
It's not the existing radio show app.
Just search Limbaughter, it's free.
There are three back issues, all the issues the remainder of the year are free.
We're just celebrating a 20th year by giving it away, letting people see what it is who uh who haven't seen it.
And I just I just checked it, and again, if you get if you go to the Apple app store for it, just type in Limbaugh Letter, hit return, and it'll pop up.
Most people, when you search, you type in Limbaugh and you'll see our other app.
But if you type in Limbaugh Letter, you won't see a list of anything.
Oh my gosh, it's not there.
It's there.
Just hit return after you enter uh Limbaugh Letter.
More polling data here, folks.
John Noldy at Breitbart reporting, good news today, the ARG poll of Ohio.
Um Romney is leaving 4847.
But get this.
The party ID breakdown doesn't reflect anything nearing reality.
In this Ohio poll, Romney is beating Obama with a Democrat sample of plus nine.
Romney is winning independence in this poll in Ohio by 20 points.
Just came out.
He's up by one over Obama, 49 or 4847, with a Democrat sample of 42%, a Republican sample of 33%.
So even with a nine-point sample advantage for Democrats, Romney is leading by one and independence by 20.
Then there's this story.
This is Toby Harden from the uh uh UK Daily Mail.
This is unbelievable, but I believe it.
Obama believed he had beaten Romney in the Denver debate.
He walked off that stage thinking he had won that debate.
Dave, I do too.
I do, but I I think the guy lives in a in an alternate universe.
He is a narcissist.
He's incapable of losing these things in his mind.
He's a legend in his own mind.
I I I have no problem believing this at all.
However, there are people on the Democrat side who do uh they're they're shocked at this, including Axlrod.
David Axlrod, Obama's chief strategist and the quasi president, while Obama's out in the campaign trail, was stunned that Obama left that stage thinking he had won the debate.
Obama believes he got the better of Romney as he walked off stage to the dismay of his aides.
This, according to a Democrat close to the campaign.
The president failed to prepare properly, opting instead to visit the Hoover Dam the day before.
He complained about being kept inside.
He complained about having to read.
He complained about having to prepare.
He said that it was a drag.
A Democrat that was is the source here for Toby Harndon, the writer of the story, said that Obama was so disdainful of Romney, he didn't think he needed to even engage with him.
His story is that he had one-liners ready to use on the 47% comment.
But he chose not to use them.
So this story in the UK Daily Mail would ask us to believe, and I do, ask us to believe that Obama thought he cleaned Romney's clock when that thing was over.
He walked off the stage thinking he won.
And the reason, he hates Romney.
He has such disdain for Romney that he thought all he had to do was just stand there.
He thinks everybody else sees Romney the way he does.
A rich, distant, insensitive boar.
And there've been stories in the past six weeks, maybe two months, that have gotten into a little detail on how much Obama really dislikes Romney personally.
He dislikes Romney personally, and he dislikes what Romney stands for.
Romney to him, and I believe this too.
Romney to Barack Obama personifies what's wrong with this country.
In Obama's view, Romney is an example of the wrong kind of people winning.
And the reason why people need to get a fair shot is because when people when dull, boring dry balls like Romney do well, there's something wrong.
I believe all this.
I believe that Obama is so cocky and so arrogant and so condescending.
He is such a narcissist.
Can you imagine he walks off that stage and he has to hear how he got shellacked?
You imagine being the guy that had to tell him that?
Can you imagine him walking off the stage and actually thinking he won?
You see, I can, because I know these people.
I hate to keep saying it that way.
I'm not bragging.
I'm trying to tell you it's easy to know these people.
All you have to do is understand liberalism.
I'm sorry for saying that so much, too, but it's all you have to do if you if you're just understand liberalism, if you're willing to admit what it is and who liberals are, the rest is easy.
And it always works.
It never fails.
Because liberals are what they are.
From liberal to liberal, person to person, that's who they are.
It's uh it's amazing.
For some people to hear, I'm sure that Obama thinks he won that thing.
But don't doubt the story he does.
Now look at this.
President Obama marked Columbus Day.
Well, what is Columbus Day to you?
What is Columbus Day mean to you?
The old lore is that Columbus discovered America and you know what Columbus is to the left.
I am not making this up to the left, to the multiculturalists, to the people teaching your kids in school who subscribe to this multicultural belief.
Columbus was a mean evil guy.
Columbus is the root of most of the evil in this country.
Columbus brought racism, sexism, bigotry.
Columbus didn't care about the environment.
He destroyed everything he came in contact with.
He was an oppressor.
He encountered the native people, the indigenous people, and he basically just took everything they had, took it away from them, took over, made them slaves.
Christopher Columbus didn't do one thing worthwhile.
Not exaggerating, that's who he is to the left.
And particularly the real radical left and a lot of teachers.
Okay, so now that you know that, listen to this.
Obama marked Columbus Day by issuing a proclamation that reflects on the tragic burdens tribal communities bore in the years that followed the discovery of the new world by Christopher Columbus.
The presidential proclamation.
Nope.
Nope, this is from Fox News.
It's their website, guy named Todd Starnes, Fox News and Well, there's a they put the presidential proclamation on the on the presidential website, White House website.
No, it's it it's it's not.
President Obama marked Columbus Day by issuing a proclamation that reflects on the tragic burdens tribal communities bore in the years that followed the discovery of the new world by Christopher Columbus.
When the explorers laid anchor in the Bahamas, they met indigenous peoples who had inhabited the Western hemisphere for millennia.
As we reflect on the tragic burdens tribal communities bore in the years that followed, let us commemorate the many contributions they have made to the American experience and let us continue to strengthen the ties that bind us today.
He called on Americans to recall the courage of Columbus while celebrating our heritage as a people born of many histories and traditions.
Following is the complete proclamation of what Obama called the fateful October day in 1492.
Now, let me just say something.
If this is the onion, if this is satire, if this is a joke, if somebody is is running a scam here on Fox News and Todd Starns, let me just say something.
If it's a joke, the reason it works is because all humor, really good humor, is grounded in some truth.
The reason this works is because it is believable that Obama as a leftist would have this view.
They do.
This is the multiculturalist view.
Why you just said it?
I asked you, what is Columbus Day to P to the left?
It's a it's a presser's day.
Why do you say that?
Because you know that's what it is to them.
Okay, so that's who Obama is, a leftist.
Why are you so shocked?
You don't.
Okay, Snerdley not buying it.
Obama wouldn't dare do this.
As president in an election year, Obama wouldn't dare do this.
This has to be satire.
It has to be.
Can't possibly be true.
Well, I've got the proclamation here.
And it does say we reflect on the tragic burdens tribal communities bore in the years that followed the discovery of the new world by Christopher Columbus.
By the way, how many of you have ever heard Obama uh Columbus landed in the Bahamas?
See, that to me is what makes this thing a little suspicious and dubious.
Hispanolia.
Hispaniola.
Uh, I hate to tell you, Mr. Snurley, the proclamation is legit.
This is not the onion.
It is not Scott Ott.
It is not a parody.
It is found on government websites.
That's where Mr. Starnes found it at Fox News and Commentary.
It's legit.
Snerdley still doesn't believe it.
Go look it up.
Good look at any White House website, any government website.
Columbus Day 2012 by the President of the United States of America, a proclamation.
As dawn broke over the Atlantic on October 12, 1492, a perilous 10-week journey across an ocean gave way to encounters and events that would dramatically shape the course of history.
Today we recall the courage and the innovative spirit that carried Columbus and his crew from a Spanish port to North America.
We celebrate our heritage as a people born of many histories and traditions.
And we also reflect on the tragic burdens that tribal communities bore in the years that followed the discovery of the new world by Columbus.
Quick timeout got much more folks as always.
Don't go away.
Don't go away.
Nate Cohn at the New Republic potentially ominous sign for Romney in today's Gallup numbers.
While the Twitter verse was ablaze with the news that Romney sees the lead in Gallup's tracker of likely voters, the Underlying data hinted at troubling news for Romney.
After making big gains among registered voters following the debates, Gallup's most recent days of tracking have shown a shift back in the president's direction, with Obama returning to pre-debate levels.
At the same time, Gallup's three-day approval tracker found the president reaching 53%, suggesting the president fared pretty well in polling interviews on Saturday as well.
So the left thinks that whatever Romney got post-debate, it's over, and now people have changed their minds again and Obama's where he was before the debate.
Now I'm sorry, folks, I just don't buy any of this.
What they want us to believe is that there was this massive 18 point, 10 point, 12-point swing following the debate from Obama to Romney, and now it's back to where it was.
People just don't.
This is not how they think.
Now they may be telling pollsters this.
Heck who knows.
But there aren't this many people undecided in this race.
You realize how many undecided people there have to be for all this to be true.
But anyway, the point remains they are just totally absorbed in these polls.
Whatever these polls tell them, they they are in invested totally in them.
They're using no common sense, they're using no critical thinking or independent thinking.
I mean, whatever the polling data says is what it is that day.
They don't even consider the polls to have any fallibility whatsoever.
So somebody call Andrew Sullivan now and get him to come back in off the ledge.
Because the new republic has found news here in the latest Gallup number.
See, it was the pew poll that had Sullivan suicidal.
But the Gallup poll now says that Sullivan can come back in off the ledge.
Because Obama's back to right where he was before the debate, which means people have forgotten what happened in the debate.
Or whatever happened to the debate, make them change their mind.
Something's happened since to make them say, you know what?
I still don't like Romney.
Hell with him, I'm going back to Obama.
I mean, the stuff they ask us to believe.
Gallup's accuracy in 2008 was 17 or 18.
Rasmussen was number one in terms of uh being the closest to predicting the uh the real outcome.
This is Dennis, Covington, Louisiana.
Great to have you on the program, sir.
Hi.
Hey, Rush.
I guess the new narrative is that conservatives want to kill Big Bird.
Well, we have witnessed decades of toy merchandising, movie theater revenues that have to amount to the hundreds of millions, which would put Big Bird up there with Bill Gates.
So to subsidize Big Bird, isn't that the epitome of the rich.
Try this.
Try this Sesame Street received a million dollar grant from the stimulus bill.
And they reported that it created one point four seven jobs from the Washington Examiner.
They were inspired to look into this after big birds hopped on board the Obama campaign.
They found out that Sesame Street got 1,067,532 via Obama's porculus bill.
Now remember what that was.
That was for shovel ready jobs.
The stimulus bill was to put you back to work.
Yes, my friends.
It was to find jobs in the middle of a recession.
We find out now that it went to unions, teachers, and now Sesame Street, the children's television workshop.
Which, if you know, if you knew who runs that the wife of a billionaire rose, what business are they getting one million dollars of stimulus money?
But they did.
Sesame Workshop, independent nonprofit corporation that produces Sesame Street, Got over a million dollars in August of 2010 via the Department of Health and Human Services.
Straight from Obama stimulus.
Okay, folks, we got much more straight ahead.
It's another almost as shocking as that we get back.
Hi, folks, welcome back.
Your guiding light, El Rushbo, talent on loan from God.
So in addition to Big Bird and Sesame Street, and I'm not I'm not kidding.
The people that that that own and produce that whole network, the children's television workshop, they're billionaires.
There's no reason they should be getting government money.
There's no reason PBS should be getting government money anyway.
I mean it's Romney's right about that.
But it's an easy target, I admit.
And it gives the little children, they love Big Bird, but they've pulled it.
Big Bird said I don't want to be part of Obama's campaign, just like Andrea Mitchell said.
And it didn't work as well.
You know, they the idea that Romney wanted to kill Big Bird didn't get as much traction as it would normally get.
Now F. Chuck Todd is reporting that there are big shakeups maybe happening in the Obama campaign.
That they might be looking at bringing back some people from the 08 campaign.
No names mentioned.
Then there's this.
President Obama touted it in 2010 as evidence manufacturing jobs are coming back to the U.S., But two years later, a Michigan hybrid battery plant built with 150 million dollars in taxpayer money is putting workers on furlough before a single battery has been produced.
Yes, you heard right.
A plant that got 150 million dollars.
I don't know if it's stimulus money or not, but they got 150 million dollars in government money subsidized making batteries for the Chevrolet vault.
This company is laying people off, and they haven't in two years made a battery.
Hello, green energy.
Everybody thinks green energy, well, Obama does thinks this green energy is the next big thing.
And it's not there yet.
There just isn't any green energy business yet.
It may happen someday, but it hasn't happened yet.
So we're subsidizing Big Bird.
We're subsidizing a battery factory that never made a battery.
And somebody want to tell me this man knows what he's doing.
Well, in the in the sense of competence, he does know what he's doing, believe me.
What's happening is exactly what he wants to happen.
Try this story.
This is from the Daily Caller.
The president's top campaign staffers changed his re-election strategy while the debate was going on with Romney.
While Obama still at the podium, during his losing debate against Romney, according to an article in the New York Times, a conference call convened by aides in Denver and Chicago, even as the candidates were still on stage that reversed a long-standing strategic decision.
They did this without Obama's involvement.
At the start of the campaign, they had decided to attack Romney as a committed conservative rather than a flip-flopper.
Now they decided, in the middle of that debate, to use his debate statements to argue that he was reinventing himself.
They really believe that that folks, this is breathtaking to me.
I I don't know how to say this any more emphatically than I have, and I'm sorry to be repetitive on it.
I they really believe that the Romney who showed up was a fraud.
They believe that the Romney in the ads that they've created is who he really is.
Now, every time I say this, snurdly gets on the IFB here.
They do believe it.
Obama doesn't like Romney.
He has a personal dislike for Romney and a generic dislike for what Romney is and how Romney became what he is.
Romney's everything about America Obama despises or resents, but they think Romney's the biggest fraud on earth.
And by the way, listen to Obama.
Grab soundbite number nine.
Last night San Francisco to fundraiser.
Here's Obama telling his audience about Romney.
That's the debate.
I had a bunch of folks concentrated.
Don't be so polite.
Don't be so nice.
I want everybody to understand something.
What was being presented wasn't leadership.
That's salesmanship.
Okay, I think we've got a talking point preview.
I think maybe an indication here of what Obama's going to do in the next debate.
Just accuse Romney of being disingenuous.
Accuse him of being a fake.
You're not the Mitt Romney, everybody knows.
It's just salesmanship.
Everything you're saying.
There's nothing genuine about what you're doing.
He's not engaging in leadership.
All of this simply buttresses my point.
They don't have the courage to admit that Romney's who he is.
Because they're living in this bubble.
They're living in this alternate universe.
And if it weren't Romney, it'd be whoever the nominee is.
If it weren't Romney, no Republican, no conservative is genuine.
We're all mean spirited, extreme racist, bigots, sexist, homophobes, whatever.
But it's to me, folks, it's astounding that they are able to do this.
I I couldn't do it.
I couldn't live lies like this.
I mean, I Obama, I know exactly who he is.
I don't make it up.
I don't pretend he's something he's not in order to make myself feel better.
And I'm going to tell you if this keeps up, if they continue to behave, campaign, and act as though the real Romney is a fraud, they're going to lose this thing bigger than anybody imagines.
Mark my words.
Now, to her credit, Soledad O'Brien isn't buying it either.
This is this morning on Starting Point on CNN, and she had as her guest Dick Turbin, the senator from Illinois.
She said the headline is Did Obama just throw the entire election away?
That's the Andrew Sullivan piece.
And it gets worse from there.
Tell me a little bit, Senator Turban.
If you think, in fact, that this falling that you're seeing in the polling is literally due to what happened that night in the debate.
Disappointed with the debate, but believe the president understands his challenge now.
He was shocked and surprised.
Many of us were.
Mitt Romney came on that set at the first debate and said things which completely contradicted what he'd said in the campaign before.
I think it caught the president a little bit by surprise.
He won't be surprised again.
See, see, Romney didn't say anything different.
What Romney did was said some things for the first time.
What did Romney do for the first time?
He took it to Obama.
He said, You and your policies have killed X number of jobs.
What you've done has resulted in this.
No, Mr. President, that's not true.
The truth of the matter is X. What Romney did was challenge Obama for the first time.
Well, I guess they're believing this idea that Romney said, he's a nice guy, but he's just in over his head.
And Romney threw away the nice guy business, and he just said, Look, not only you in over your head, you're unqualified, and you're wrong.
So they might be seeing that in Romney for the first time, but we know he's right.
We know that's who he is.
We know that's what Republicans and conservatives in a generic sense believe.
But even Dick Durbin here, even Dick Durbin is saying we didn't know this guy who showed up.
I mean, that's a fraud.
Romney was a fraud.
And Soledad O'Brien not buying it.
You cannot tell me that his poor debate performance was he was sitting there stunned uh in front of the American public as opposed to presenting at least his side of the argument.
People have talked a little bit about the air pressure.
People have talked about a lack of practice.
It certainly can't be I was just stunned standing there listening.
I'll just tell you that uh the president understands the challenge of the debates.
Really?
So she said, look, Senator Durbin, don't look at I I know I'm a member of the liberal media and I'm not that bright, but I'm smart enough to know that your excuse is full of it.
Are you trying to tell me that the president of the United States, the guy that we're telling everybody's the smartest guy that's ever lived, was so stupefied by the Romney he saw that he had a brain freeze and he didn't know what to do.
Not even Soladette O'Brien O'Brien buying it.
That's how that's how absurd it is.
Folks, I have a little little plug here for for a friend.
I was watching.
I got two monitors on in here.
I have Fox on one.
I used to have MSNBC up there, but I just that's willing insanity.
So I put CNN on.
It's not nearly as bad.
It's still challenging.
The other day, I'm watching Megan Kelly.
Her show's on the same time this is.
And I know Megan and her husband, her husband's name Doug Brunt.
Doug's a CEO of an internet security firm.
And she's interviewing Doug, interviewing her husband.
So I got on the IFB, and I hey snurdly, that's Mel Megan's Megan's husband.
And I couldn't hear it.
I'm reading the closed captioning.
But then I saw a graphic.
He's written a book.
He's uh he's I guess he's had this long held desire to be a novelist.
So she's interviewing him about about his book.
So I went, well, what is this about?
The title of his book is called The Ghosts of Manhattan.
I bought it last night on the Apple iBooks store, and it's also available at in the Kindle store.
And there's another, by the way, uh, if if you go buy it, there's another book by some other guy with the same title.
Uh the book I'm talking about, Ghost of Manhattan is a basically blue cover, and the author is is is uh Doug Brunt.
You know what it's about?
It's it's supposedly fictional.
It's supposedly fictional account of a Wall Street bond trader in the days leading up to the collapse.
And I started reading it last night, and I was really intrigued by it.
It was it's uh this it it in in just the first, let's see, uh what I get to 75 pages, sex, drugs, hookers, money.
Doug has loaded the thing up, but it's it's uh I don't know, it's it it I I was a little surprised, had no idea what to expect.
It's his first book, but it's really good.
I haven't finished the thing.
Uh but uh I thought I'm gonna mention it because I know it's been a passion of his to write a book.
He's one of these guys that you know how many authors there are frustrated authors that really want to do that, but there's no money in it if you don't hit.
And you have to have some other job that you do.
Well, he finally just took the plunge, did the book, and and I don't know what he's doing with his internet company.
Uh but it's uh it's entertaining.
It really, and by the way, it's what is this sex, drugs, hookers.
Don't, it's not porn, it's not X-rated or any of that stuff.
Uh it it's just a fictional account of what goes on on Wall Street.
This guy sells corporate bonds.
The lead the lead character sells corporate bonds, and he makes a lot of money, but he's bored silly, it doesn't take a lot of work, he's got a little guilt because he got the job simply because he knew the right people in college.
Uh is uh he's got a marriage that's uh fake and phony and so forth.
And I don't know where it's going, but it's I'm sure it's got something to do with the collapse, because that's alluded to.
It's in instructional in that sense, too, in the fact of what the banks were doing, what they were forced to do, the leverage they were engaged in.
So it's really for a first book.
I was impressed.
No, it's ghosts of Manhattan by Douglas Brunt, B R U N T. It's Megan Kelly's husband.
So I wish him good luck on it.
Brief time out.
Don't go away, we'll be right back.
Here's Tommy in Springdale, Arkansas.
I'm glad you waited, Tommy.
It's great to have you on the program.
Hello.
Hello, Russ.
Thanks for taking my call.
You bet.
Uh been a lifelong Democrat since I've been listening to you.
Uh you've kind of shown me the why.
Yeah, I'd like to thank you for it.
When did that start happening, Tommy?
Uh, about two years ago.
Two years ago.
What was it?
You remember anything particular, or was it a slow evolving kind of process?
It was just slow evolving.
Just basically open my eyes to look in different directions to see what was really the truth and what wasn't.
Truth.
That's the key.
Okay, that's cool.
That so it was the truth.
The truth is a powerful thing.
And that's what Obama can't deal with.
That's what the Obama campaign can't deal with is the truth who Romney is and who we are.
And that means they are ripe for the picking.
Stay even, stay level, folks.
Everything's fine.
And remember, the electronic version of the Limbaugh Letter, now available in Apple, App Store, Google, Kindle, Amazon.
