Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
For those of you in Rio Linda, hi folks, it's Friday.
Here we go.
Live from the Southern Command in sunny South Florida.
It's open line Friday.
And I am ready for this.
I have carried this show for the past two weeks.
There was one day this week I didn't even get to the phones until two hours and twenty minutes into it.
It's about time you people carried your weight on this show.
So my intention is to carry or take a few more phone calls today.
I always intend that, by the way.
I always intend to do it.
We'll see how it works out.
I've I've I've got I got a new strategy today.
I've got my highly edited stack of stuff here.
And I'm just gonna I uh normally I separate it into different stacks.
Try to organize it some semblance so that I know if it's lighthearted or if it's related to say some economic news, if it's a whole bunch of that, it's separate.
I haven't done that.
I just it's all here, and I haven't put it in any order.
Something is just peeling it from the top, just what's ever on top, do it and move on to the next one.
And uh and and see what happens.
I may not do that.
I might.
I size.
Half the time the show starts, I don't know what lead item's gonna be.
I do here.
I just haven't gotten to it yet.
Telephone number is 800-282-2882.
If you Yeah, I did.
I uh you mean the iPhone, babe?
Yeah, I saw that.
I and that's the 47% that Romney's talking about.
You know, that's if I i i we just put it out there.
That's really what he meant.
And and you know, everybody knows it.
But you know what the you know what the meme of the day is today?
It's over.
It's over, and the reason it's over is the Clinton bump.
All of the polls that show there's a there's another poll out.
I I don't which one it is.
There's another poll out that shows at least half, if not more, than half the country think Obama's better suited to deal with the economy than Romney.
And the reason why this is the case is the Clinton bump from the convention.
And the Clinton bump from a Democrat convention is this.
Let me tell you something.
There is nobody who could have fixed this.
Not even I. Nobody who could have done any better than what Barack Obama has done.
This was such a mess.
There isn't us, there isn't a single president that's alive or dead that could have done any better.
And I'm gonna tell you right now, there's nobody cares more than Barack Obama.
He's working as hard as I ever worked to get this done for you, and he's going to, if you just give him more time.
That's the Clinton bump, and that is said to have worked.
Stephen Hayes was on Fox this morning, weekly standard.
He said that the polls indicated most people believe that Clinton, when he said that nobody could have done any better than Obama has done in reviving the economy.
They think he works hard.
The Democrat Convention worked.
Boy, he this guy works hard because he cares.
And that worked.
That it's all Tom Brokaw says it's gonna take a UFO for Romney to win.
So that's that's the meme of the day.
And then I got I got an email last night.
Subject line, so how do we explain this?
And it's early voting out of Iowa.
And here's the ratio.
According to, I think it was the Des Moines Register.
A hundred thousand Democrats have early voted.
Six thousand Republicans.
And so the indication there is that the Democrats are far more enthusiastic than anybody knows, and the Republicans don't care.
And the reason the Republicans don't care is that Romney's campaign isn't exciting anyway.
That's the theme for the day.
That's the media theme, that's the narrative, what have you.
That's what's out there.
So putting that out, let's just let's just start here at the top.
New poll, Romney overtakes Obama on terrorism.
This is a uh this is a Bloomberg poll.
Foreign policy results and a new Bloomberg National poll haven't gotten much attention yet, but the survey contains some bad news for the regime.
According to this poll, Romney has a 4842 advantage over Obama on the question of which candidate would be tougher on terrorism.
Let's go to the audio sound bites.
I want to take you back.
This program yesterday, this is what I said, and I've been saying it for days, by the way.
But just to remind you.
Bottom line here is that Obama knew the attacks on our embassies on the anniversary of 9 11 were planned, and it had nothing to do with the video, and he knew that within 24 hours, if not sooner, of the attack at Benghazi and upon the death of the ambassador.
So let's spoil that down.
What was the theme of yesterday's program?
Obama knowingly lied to the American people.
Obama created a conspiracy theory.
And coordinated a campaign of deceit to distract from the truth that affects our national security.
This is not an insignificant thing that the president of the United States did.
Yes, it is.
It is insignificant.
Nobody cares.
That's the same, and nobody cares because there isn't anybody who could have done better than Obama in trying to revive the economy.
And he cares so much, he's working so hard.
A Clinton bump.
Limbaugh.
You know what?
You're saying it better than I ever did at the convention.
Yeah, and you know, Mr. President, the interesting thing about the Clinton bump is uh what how many people watch that convention?
I mean, what 20 million max.
Yeah, but you know what you forget, Limbaugh.
I'm one of the most universally beloved people in this country.
And you know how often that's been tweeted out, and you know how often it's been YouTube?
I mean, everybody's seen this.
I got a call from an oil shake in Dubai.
He thought I never looked better.
Um it's all over, Limbaugh.
You yeah, you it doesn't matter.
Whatever you say, we're gonna have a counter for it.
Okay.
There you go.
Sir Clinton Bump.
Nobody could have done any better, and he cares and he's working really hard, and the Romney campaign's a wet noodle, and therefore you need a UFO.
That's the only chance Romney's got, as Tom Brokov.
Meanwhile, Obama's out there lying over and over and over.
Susan Rice lied, Hillary Clinton lied, they all lied about this attack, and now the filmmaker is in jail.
Have you heard this?
They finally got the guy in jail.
We are going out of our way to apologize to the Islamist supremacist world.
This guy is in jail on on a on a uh parole violation, something with a with a fraudulent check.
But they've got the guy in jail.
And don't believe he's in jail for parole violence.
I mean, that's the legal ease, that's illegal.
They got this guy in jail for the world to see that the United States can will throw the First Amendment in the trash and will jail somebody who says something that the regime doesn't like.
So this lie has been perpetrated, has been told for over a week.
Even after it was exposed as a lie, they continued to blame the video.
Even Obama at the United Nations continued the focal point of his speech was the was the video, and how sorry we are.
Leon Panetta, Secretary of Defense, yesterday in Washington at the Pentagon.
As we uh determined uh the details of what took place there.
Uh and uh how that that uh attack took place.
That uh it became clear that there were terrorists who had uh planned that attack.
So Panetta is saying that they all lied.
He is say it, but he confirms it.
Yeah, well, do we determine the details on how that took place?
They knew it within 24 hours.
They knew within 24 hours that a movie had nothing to do with it.
They knew within 24 hours video had nothing to do with it.
And yet they continue to lie.
But nobody cares.
It's not a big deal.
If you are the parents of Chris Stevens, I wonder how all This goes down with you.
I mean, your your your son's dead.
Three other people died with him.
There was no protection, there was no security.
And for a week or more afterwards, some video nobody's ever seen is blamed for it.
And the truth comes out, it was 9 11 related.
Therefore, it could have been planned for.
There should have been security.
Your son's dead.
And you hear the president of the United States continue to lie about it.
That's okay.
I'm sure his parents are loyal Democrats and Obamaites, and he cares about the economy, and nobody could have done better.
I'm sure they don't care like nobody else cares.
Anderson Cooper last night.
Random act of journalism two weeks late.
Multiple sources now tell 360 that officials knew this was a terror attack almost from the get go within 24 hours.
Yeah.
Anderson, what what was your first clue?
Are you able to waltz in there with your CNN crew and grab the ambassador's diary?
You believe this a news network that can't do anything right.
And they're getting rid of the president.
They don't know what to do with it.
They can't do it.
They waltzed in there four days after the attack at Benghazi, and there's our ambassador's diary.
And they get it, and they take it, and they read from it, and they televise some of the stuff in his diary.
What if you're his parents?
I wonder what you think.
It doesn't matter.
Obama then nobody can fix this, and he's really trying hard and he cares.
Doesn't matter.
Here we have random random act of journalism two weeks after the fact.
Multiple sources now tell 360.
What the hell's 360?
I know it's a show.
It's like the talking points memo actually talks.
All right, so you have that.
We got Jake Tapper.
Move over to ABC last night on ABC's world news tonight.
The White House first suggested that the Benghazi attack was spontaneous.
The result of that anti-Muslim video inciting mobs throughout the region.
But sources tell ABC News that intelligence officials on the ground immediately suspected the attack was not tied to the movie at all.
Arousing their suspicion, the fact that the attackers knew where to get Ambassador Stevens after he'd fled to a so-called safe house half a mile away.
The building was hit with insurgent mortars, suggesting the terrorists knew what they were doing.
Some administration sources tell ABC News they were concerned after the White House began pushing the line that the attack was spontaneous and not the work of terrorists.
The White House says assessments have changed over time as intelligence has been confirmed.
You know what the White House is saying?
White House is no, in fact, it's not the White House.
It's someone die of anal poisoning media person who is uh writing no, no, no.
They knew they, of course, we know and now know it, everybody knows that the White House knew.
They had to continue to blame the movie for the security of everybody else.
That was simply a way to maintain security.
Blaming the movie did not incite the terrorists to act anymore.
If you'd have blamed them, if we would have pointed fingers and then they'd have gotten madder and maybe done another attack.
I mean, this is actually being said.
So you just heard Jake Tapper, White House first suggested, sources tell ABC News, Fish is on the ground, immediately suspected the attack.
Wasn't tied to movie at all.
And what aroused their suspicion.
They knew where the ambassador fled.
When did you know?
You knew that the next day because we told you here.
The ambassador's safe house location was leaked to the mob by the people who went in to supposedly secure our ambassador.
They took him to the safe house, then they told the mob where he was.
This has all been known for two weeks.
And here now the drive-by media thinks they've got a scoop.
And uh White House uh the ABC News was told that they're concerned.
Some administration sources concerned after the White House began pushing the line, the attack was spontaneous.
Oh, you mean like this from Jay Carney on September 24, exactly two weeks ago.
Let's be clear.
This these protests were in reaction to a video that had spread to the region.
That Benghazi.
We certainly don't know.
We don't know otherwise.
Uh you know, we have no uh information to suggest that it was a pre planned uh attack.
Uh the unrest we've seen around the region has been in reaction to uh a video that Muslims, many Muslims find offensive.
Now that's Carney answering question, Jake Tapper, who in our previous sound bite admitted that the White House told him they knew instantly, immediately, that it was a terrorist.
So Jay Carney was sent out there to lie.
I don't know if it took much effort to get him to lie, but never.
He was sent out there to lie.
And he did.
At the moment, two weeks ago, Jay Carney was telling everybody that it was a video.
His bosses knew, including the president, that it wasn't a video.
They totally concocted this, made it up.
And then two days later, all over the Sunday shows, they sent Susan Rice, who's our UN ambassador out, and this is what she said.
It's important to know that there's an FBI investigation that has begun and will take some time to be completed.
That will tell us uh with certainty what transpired.
But our current best assessment, uh, based on the information that we have at present, is that in fact what this began as was a spontaneous, not a premeditated uh response to what had transpired in Cairo.
Right.
So Kearney lies.
Two weeks ago, Susan Rice lies two weeks ago Sunday, and they've been lying every day since they engage in a cover-up.
They concocted a phony scenario.
What if you're the parents of Chris Stevens?
What do you think of all this?
Probably marveling, I guess, at how clever Obama is.
Now he got away with it.
I know.
FBI's not even there investigating.
That's why CNN was able to waltz in, go past the crime scene tape, and find the guy's diary.
The FBI is not even there yet.
They're not even investigating.
They don't even care.
What else can we conclude?
I mean, it's been two weeks, fifteen days.
The FBI is not even there to investigate.
They don't even care.
They got their political mileage out of this.
They they established the narrative that it was the video.
They had a solid week of doing that, no matter who was protesting and saying it wasn't.
They they had the world believing it.
The U.S. media spreading that it was a video.
Now the guy who did the video is in jail.
And there's nothing to see here anymore.
We we move on.
Now it's the economy, and it couldn't be tackled any better by anybody else.
The Clinton bump.
Democrat National Convention.
That's exactly right.
Obama cares, Michelle told us.
He told us.
Biden told us how much Obama cares.
Garcy doesn't do anything but worry about the economy and jobs.
There isn't anything anybody could have done, folks.
There isn't just and over fifty percent of America believes this.
Steve Hayes told me that on TV today.
That's what the polls say.
It's worked.
American people believe nobody could have done any better.
I don't know.
That's interesting question.
If Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood guy wants the filmmaker, will we extradite him?
Ha!
I mean, the fact that we don't immediately say no is quite telling, isn't it?
Obama!
You got Obama four.
Yes, everybody in Cleveland, no minority got Obama foe.
Keep Obama in, President, you know.
He gave us a phone.
He gave you a phone.
How'd he give you a phone?
You shine up during you all full stamps while social security.
You got low income, you disability.
Okay, what's wrong with Romney again?
Romney!
He sucks!
Yeah, there you have it.
Uh that's the 47% that Romney was talking about.
By the way, that is a bought and paid for SEIU protester.
We have since learned that the SEIU, the Service Employees International Union, paid these people $11 an hour, and they're following Romney around.
Uh, this group of them in Ohio have a different bunch of them uh state by state.
$11 an hour for that.
Here's by the way, this Obama, September 12th.
This is uh sixteen days ago.
No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.
Today we mourn for more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America.
We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act, and make no mistake, justice will be done.
Now, this is Obama.
This is the day after the attack, and he's talking about it like it was a terror attack.
He didn't blame the video there.
He did earlier in the statement.
But regardless, uh, they knew at the beginning what this was.
They knew, ladies and gentlemen, that it had nothing to do with the video, and he lied for two weeks.
Having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have Rush Limbaugh open line Friday.
Snerdley keeps making a big deal over the fact that the FBI is not even in Benghazi to investigate.
There's a reason why.
Oh, okay.
See well, here's why the FBI isn't there.
The FBI will find out what happened, and the regime does not want that reported.
The FBI will not lie about what they find.
So the regime's got to keep them out of there.
You let the FBI in there and they're gonna find out what happened.
If you have the FBI conducting an investigation and telling everybody officially what we know, that's not good for the regime.
So you just keep them out.
You don't let them go, you don't send them.
And therefore you never get to the bottom of it.
And so instead you piecemeal it out with people like Pennetta in a seven-second sound bite that is in no way gonna compete with two weeks of lies.
You can have Jake Tapper going out there, we played the soundbite, you can have Panetta saying what he said, but there's no way it's gonna compete with two weeks of lies about the video being what's responsible for this.
That's why they're not sending the FBI over there.
It's that simple.
I'm telling you.
Snerdley's asking, doesn't anybody care the ambassador's dead?
Ah.
You have to never forget that everything now, and I think at all times, but particularly now, must be looked at through the prism of the Obama campaign through the through the election.
And so the death of the ambassador can only be a bad thing for Obama if anybody makes big deal out of it.
So no, they don't care.
I mean, it's it's a it's it's a harmful campaign issue.
It's a harmful event the campaign.
So you you downplay it.
You you you greet the coffins when they return, you do a ceremony, you continue to blame the video, as he did at the U.N. three days ago.
You continue spreading the lie after the truth is known.
It's the State Department tells the FBI not to go.
State Department blocked them.
What more do you need to know?
They don't want the investigation.
They don't want what the FBI will find.
It's not incompetence.
You were thinking it was incompetence, right?
The gang that can't shoot.
Okay, our ambassador's dead and uh why didn't the FBI over there called it a crime scene, they're keeping the FBI out on purpose.
Do you know anybody in the FBI?
I know you know Jim Calstrom.
Nobody could make Jim Calstrom lie about anything.
There is no administration that could have ever made Jim Calstrom ran the New York FBI office during the TWA Flight 800.
There is not a soul.
He's a uh uh a great ex-Marine.
He was the guy that Kalsterman and his unit, they're the ones that got John Gotti.
I'm telling you, there's no way any president could make him lie.
He'd resign.
The FBI takes it very seriously.
These guys are you don't want to run up against them if you've done anything wrong.
You the the When's the last time you heard any FBI corruption?
Seriously, when is the last time you heard of any?
I can't I'm not saying that they're immune, but they're being kept out of there so that whatever they would learn will stay unknown.
After all, we got a president to re-elect here, and we have an economy to save.
We got a guy who cares deeply about it, is working really hard on it, and nobody could have done any better than he's done.
That's the theme today.
That's that's that's what cannot be interrupted.
Have you heard the Samuel Jackson um uh ad for Obama?
Yeah, Samuel L. Jackson, well known uh Hollywood thespian, and he was uh recording ad for Obama.
It doesn't strike me as a kind of ad that you make and run from a position of confidence.
It's a kind of ad that you run if you think a certain segment of the population is not excited about voting and you want to shame them into voting.
Now, we've had to clean this up because this ad, it's not meant for the air.
It's internet, YouTube, and stuff.
Bobby, it is filled with obscenity.
It's got the F bomb in there, more than Madonna probably has used it.
And that's saying something.
Here it is.
It's uh it's the actually an ad put together by the Jewish Council for Education and Research.
It's a super PAC supporting Obama.
The ad is entitled Wake the F Up.
And here's a portion of it.
Mom, Dad, the election's coming up, sir.
We're tired right now, hun.
Go back to your room.
Sorry, my friend, but there's no time to snore.
An out of touch millionaires just declared war on schools, the environment, unions, fair pay.
We're all on our own if Romney has his way.
And he's against safety nets.
If you fall, tough luck.
So I strongly suggest that you wake the f up.
There you have it, the classy Obama campaign.
Samuel L. Jackson uh warning people that uh uh Romney has just declared war on schools, the environment, unions, fair pay.
We're all on our own if Romney has his way against safety nets.
Wake up!
So they're not they're not enthused about their base.
But that's not the theme.
The theme is that it's gonna take a UFO for Romney to win, it's over.
It's Tom Brokaw.
These polls, even if it's not Obama 8, 10, 12, it's rush.
The Clinton bump uh economy, economic news is bad, yeah, but but people don't, they think he's really trying.
They think he's working hard and it's just gonna take some more time.
I don't think anybody else could have done any better.
And and uh besides that, what's Romney doing to thrill anybody?
Well, I'm not jazzing anybody out.
Come on, Rush.
Maybe not be eight, twelve points, but you know.
That's that's that's the meme.
Let's just continue to go with the stack, okay, ripping things off the top.
I didn't put him in any particular order.
This is weekly standard, Jeffrey Anderson.
For all of the wishful thinking that the mainstream media uh in the mainstream media about Obama's positioning 40 days before the election, his approval rating looks remarkably similar to what it was on this date in 2010, shortly before the Democrats lost an historic 63 House seats and six Senate seats.
On September 27, 2010, two years ago, Rasmussen report showed Obama's net approval rating among likely voters to be minus three percentage points.
Forty-eight percent approving, 51% disapproving.
Among those who felt strongly, Obama's net approval rating was minus 14, 27% strongly approving, 41% strongly disapproving today.
Rasmussen shows Obama's net approval rating among likely voters to be minus three, 4851 again.
And among those who feel strongly, Obama's net approval rating is minus 14.
It's identical.
What it was two years ago.
Identical.
So two years after the biggest Republican gains in the House since World War II.
Americans remain every bit as unimpressed with the way Obama is handling his job as president as they were then.
Well, I don't know.
I don't know how that fits in with the fact that it's over.
I don't know how how do we plug this into the Clinton bump and voters overwhelmingly prefer Obama to fix the economy because he really cares and he's working really hard.
He's very likable, and nobody could have done any better.
How does that how does this fit in?
I keep asking about 2010, by the way.
When these polls with all these heavily weighted Democrat samples are using vote turnout in 2008 and even 2004.
I uh why well why not 2010?
And they all come back at me and say, well, that wasn't a presidential race, Mr. Limbaugh.
You don't know how we do our jobs here.
And yet you're just you're trying to find good news where there isn't any, Mr. Limbaugh.
And I appreciate you have to do that for your audience, but really, you can't look at 2010 has no relationship to what is happening now.
Oh, it doesn't?
No, no, Mr. Limbaugh.
Political professionals, my friends, are telling me this.
I'm emailing them back and forth.
I'm asking these polling professionals.
Why why does nobody look at 2010?
Well, that's because you don't understand how.
You know, you're good on the radio, Mr. Limbaugh, but you don't really understand.
We can't look at 2010.
It's not a presidential race.
There's nothing about 2010 that tells us a thing about 2012.
Oh, oh.
Okay.
So then I heard Steve Hayes today on Fox basically say that, yep, the polls are saying that that there was this big Clinton bump.
And that everybody thinks Obama really cares, and he really, really, really trying.
And just needs more time.
And nobody could have done any better.
What's next in the stack?
Peel this away.
Uh let's see.
This is uh Rasmussen reports trust on issues.
51% trust Romney more on the economy.
44% trust Obama more on the economy.
Mitt Romney continues to hold a seven-point lead in voter trust over Obama when it comes to the economy.
But that's not that's not what the theme is today.
The theme is today that there was a Clinton bump.
You might have heard about this.
Clinton did a speech at the Democrat convention in which he said, uh, tell you folks, this is such a mess.
This economy is such a sitting president, it's not a former president, not a dead president who could have done any better.
Uh not even I. Not even I, and I had one of the greatest economies ever, you know, that were growth and everything.
You remember that?
Not even I could have fixed this.
And there's nobody working harder at O'Brocken, nobody, no, nobody, uh nobody cares anymore.
Clinton bump.
51% trust Romney more on the economy, 44% trust Obama.
Yeah, but Rush, the you know, the Romney campaign, it's such a it's just dry ball.
There's nothing exciting people.
It's really over rush.
Okay, I get it.
I go, it's the next one here.
Um CNN.
Workers give up in Los Angeles.
The unemployment rate had been falling lately in LA County, but not for the right reasons.
Last month the jobless rate for LA County fell to 11%, down from 12.4% a year earlier.
While that's far higher than the 8.1% unemployment rate for the nation as a whole, it nevertheless seems to show progress for the city of LA, right?
Uh no.
In Los Angeles, the falling unemployment rate is misleading, just as it has been for the country overall.
When surveyed by the government, fewer LA residents say that they are employed compared to a year ago.
But it's not because they're finding jobs, it's because they're dropping out of the labor force altogether.
Oh.
Just over 100,000 workers have left the LA labor force since the beginning of this year, according to a seasonally adjusted uh release of data from the California Employment Development Department.
So workers they're leaving.
They're leaving the job market.
That's why unemployment is falling.
Nobody's getting jobs.
They're just leaving.
Some are leaving the state literally.
Some are just leaving the job market.
What is it?
Comcast is shutting down thousands of jobs in California and leaving because of business conditions.
And Governor Moonbeam Brown moved into action and chastised Comcast.
You better not, you better not blame, you better not blame the state economy for that.
Comcast reissued a statement said we're not leaving because of business climate here.
We've got different opportunities in different states, and the state put out, it's good that they clarified they're not leaving because of lousy economic conditions of the state, but they are.
So Comcast shutting down in California.
And what a Campbell soup is shutting down thousands of jobs in Sacramento.
That was announced yesterday.
They're leaving.
But the Clinton bump...
Nobody could do any better.
The American people are full on board with Obama here on the economy.
Romney didn't have a prayer now.
It's over.
From the top of the stack here, I just I'm just ripping things off.
I didn't put it in order today.
Weekly standard, Americans' incomes have fallen, $3,040 during the Obama recovery.
Americans must be wondering how much more of this recovery they can afford.
New figures.
Showed a typical American household's real inflation adjusted income dropped 5.7% during the Obama recovery.
Gets worse.
Incomes have dropped even more during the recovery than during the recession.
The average American income is off $3,000 during the Obama recovery, but boy, there's the Clinton bump.
You know, people, people Obama cares, and he's he's really been working hard, and nobody could have done any better.
Any president, you would have lost the 3,000, but doesn't matter.
And since Obama cares and works hard, that's why we're told today that it's over.
That the American people vote Obama when it comes to the economy, even despite news like this.
Exactly.
And by the way, Jay-Z.
Jay-Z said, you know what?
We need a smaller government.
I believe in a smaller government, but I'm with Obama because he's black.
I gotta respect a man who is the first black president ever.
That's Jay Z. You know what?
Obama didn't even have to give him a phone to Obama!
You got Obama phone.
Yes!
Everybody in Cleveland!
No minority got Obama phone!
Keep Obama in president, you know?
He gave us a phone!
He gave you a phone more.
How'd he give you a phone?
