Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
It's at about 30.
Are we ready to go here?
Yeah, yeah, good.
Okay.
Hi, folks.
How are you?
It's the EIB Network and the Rush Limbaugh program.
And we are at 800-282-2882, our email address.
If you want to be on the program, well, the phone numbers, if you want to be on the program, the email addresses, if you hope, and I see what you send, and then comment on it.
And that is lrushbow at EIBnet.com.
I hope everybody had a good weekend.
One of the things I found during campaigns is that weekends, we're not here.
Two days of rampant media corruption with no real counterweight to it.
So Mondays, we refocus everybody.
Monday, we keep people bucked up.
That's what it'd be.
Monday, we make sure that you don't get lackadaisical and so forth.
So that's what a large part of today is going to be.
Did you see old buddy Noel Shepard at Newsbusters had this over the weekend?
CNN reporter Peter Hamby sent an Obama campaign donation request from his Twitter account.
He said to his Twitter followers, and I got it right here.
Peter Hambley, Wisconsin officially at Battleground.
President Obama going to Milwaukee next weekend.
And then there's a donor form.
Well, we're not surprised, it's just it's blatant now.
Here's a CNN reporter fundraising for President Obama.
It's right here.
It's an Obama-Biden form, a smiling picture of Obama there.
And the link goes to a donation page to join Obama at a fundraiser in Milwaukee on Saturday, September 22nd.
That follows a big fundraising party with Jay-Z and Beyonce tomorrow and an appearance on Letterman tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the protests, even the regime says that the protests in our installations overseas are going to be prolonged and they are going to increase.
The regime actually said this.
So it's, I don't know if you call it corruption.
It's just straight flat out propaganda.
What?
What?
Well, they're leveling off, but they're going to continue.
They're not going to end anytime soon because of the filmmaker.
That's all spontaneous, but they're telling us it's going.
I'm not asking you what you believe.
I'm telling you what's happening out there.
I'm telling you what the regime is seeing, or rather, what they're saying.
But since it's Monday some things, I need to remind you of, folks, Mitt Romney has done nothing to harm the U.S. economy.
Obama, on the other hand, is at war with the U.S. economy.
Mitt Romney has done nothing to harm the middle class.
Obama is destroying it.
Mitt Romney has done nothing to harm education.
Obama has defunded school choice in Washington, D.C.
He has refused to speak out against the striking teachers at Chicago.
That's going into its second week now.
And now the media, others, why doesn't he speak out?
Why isn't he speaking out?
I'll tell you, no, it's because it's because, no, no, it's a victory for the, I boxed him out.
It's a victory for the EIB network.
On day two or three of this strike, whatever it was, I predicted that he would go in.
I predicted this whole thing.
Look at the union people are his buddies, big donors.
Chicago, Rom Emmanuel.
Come on, anybody believe these people are out to hurt Obama?
No way.
So I predicted loudly and clearly a number of times that this thing was a setup or could be, might be a setup, so that Obama could go in and rescue every children, the schools, school, lunch, school, breakfast, school, dinner, school, snacks, save the day, get the teachers their raise, but not as much as they wanted.
Bailout, Ram Emmanuel, make it look like Obama has the magic from 2008, can solve any.
Well, I made the prediction, and of course, the medium dutifully, predictably, fell right in the line.
That's crazy.
Limbaugh's wrong.
He doesn't know what he's talking about.
Obama would never politicize this.
Why, this is a powder kick.
This is the last thing Obama.
And I marveled and I laughed as the media told me and their audiences that I was wrong, that I didn't know what I was doing.
But in the process, we actually ran a little contest here for a caller.
Somebody could tell me, we'll give you a prize.
Why do I really do this?
I was willing in this one occasion as the magician to give up the trick.
And a caller got it.
He says, Rush, it's very simple.
By you predicting Obama will do it, it lessens the likelihood that he will do it because he doesn't want you to look like you know what you're talking about.
He doesn't want you to be correct.
So, Obama has defunded school choice in Washington.
He hadn't spoken up about the teacher strike, and that's I just told you why.
Romney, by the way, hasn't done anything to harm General Motors or Chrysler.
Obama destroyed the investors, the bondholders, including the pension funds.
He ripped off the taxpayers for tens of billions of dollars.
Romney has done nothing.
By the way, General Motors pushing U.S. to sell stake.
Treasury Department is resisting General Motors' push for the government to sell off its stake.
General Motors wants out of government or wants a government out of GM, and the regime is saying no.
Obama's saying no, we're staying in.
General Motors wants him out.
That's what it's historic market watch.
What?
Now?
Right now?
Well, you think we should?
Folks, I'm told that there is a press conference now at the White House.
You think I should dip it?
I don't know how long it's going to go.
We got a spot break coming up here.
What are we ever going to dip the guy?
All right.
Folks, there's a press conference.
Our microphones are always there at the White House.
There's an impromptu press conference at the White House right now.
President Obama, I guess, is soon to be coming out.
Everybody, this is a very difficult time for our president.
Look, give him a good opening on Romney's statement first.
Then one of us should follow up with a question about the video.
What if he gets off message?
We aren't going to let that happen.
I've already spoken to Carney.
And Bob, don't ask him any questions about Israel.
It drives him nuts.
And he could really step in it so bad we can't save him.
Oh, yeah, sure.
No problem.
Okay, everybody, get ready.
My fellow Americans, President Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood has promised to help us in the pursuit of our enemies.
And I've instructed the FBI and our State Department to work with Egyptian and Libyan authorities in every way possible to bring these people to justice before the election.
I instructed the FBI to call this a crime scene, which means I cannot answer any questions about the investigation into this random act of criminal activity.
Also, I've instructed the Secretary of Education to assure the Egyptian protesters that my administration will extend affordable student loans and, if necessary, more apologies.
Make no mistake.
This video is what started all of this.
None of these protests and none of these actions are directed at the United States or my policies in the region.
And to our enemies and the protesters, I want you to know that you didn't do this on your own.
U.S. foreign aid built the roads and bridges you traveled on to get to the embassy.
And we will continue to invest in your country until we win ultimate victory.
Now, I'll take some of your questions.
Yes, Judy.
Mr. President, Governor Romney has suggested that your response to these protests and attacks have made America appear weak.
We in the media are convinced he is trying to shore up his extremist Tea Party base.
Are you surprised by his lack of respect and sensitivity for you, the office of president, and Peggy Noonan?
No, I'm surprised he is apparently unaware of the video that the 12 people in the Middle East with internet access were able to view last June.
Let me be clear, and let me say this again: this was not a response to the U.S. policy, my administration, or the American people.
It was just a random response to a YouTube video.
And know this: it just happened to take place on 9-11.
We all know that is purely coincidental.
Yes, David?
Mr. President, what steps have you taken to stop this Coptic Christian filmmaker from striking again?
He's been taken in for questioning by the LA County Sheriff's Office, and we found that his influence and deception goes far deeper, far deeper than we thought.
And let me tell you, this man is apparently a coward.
He is now in hiding, refusing to return to his home so that you can further harass him, as he should certainly be.
Can you elaborate, sir?
Can you tell us more?
Well, it's classified.
So I can't.
Does he have links to the recession, sir?
As a matter of fact, this man has been found to have contributed significantly to the recession, and his actions are making our recovery all that much more difficult.
In fact, let me just say this about that.
I have spoken to the chairman of the Federal Reserve, Mr. Benaki, and he showed me some convincing data that this filmmaker and his video, and we must remember the role of that video in all of this, that our rising gas prices, stubbornly high unemployment, and even the strike by my friends, the teachers in Chicago, are linked to this man and his video.
Yes, this is exactly what we need.
Right on.
I'm so excited.
Sir, is this so-called producer responsible for Joe Biden's alleged past plagiarism and present incoherent outburst?
We're definitely looking into that.
And will you send in the seals to get him before the next jobs report?
I'm keeping all of my options open.
Jake.
Mr. President, some conservative talk shows have said that these attacks were coordinated on the anniversary of 9-11.
That can't possibly be true, can it?
Of course not.
And I'm so glad you asked that, even though I just answered it.
These people don't even use the same calendar we use, as you all know.
9-11 really doesn't mean to them what it means to us.
These were clearly coincidental random attacks, brought on first by the YouTube video last June, and then Mr. Romney's ill-timed comments last Monday.
Wow!
I have to take a break.
We'll get back to this when we get back.
Ell Rush Boy, the EIB network, back now to the impromptu press conference going on, President, at the White House.
The American people need to know that the maker of that video, Nikula Basili Nikula, is responsible for the uprisings at the U.S. embassies in over 21 countries, the proliferation of black al-Qaeda flags, or out-of-control deficits, and has kept me from attending more than half of my intelligence briefings.
CNN reported yesterday that the protesters in Cairo were paid in much the same way that our own Occupy Wall Street protesters were paid.
But there is a huge difference.
And I want the American people to know that my intelligence people tell me it was a filmmaker, Nikula, who paid the protesters in Cairo.
This is a perfect example of the usefulness of the 16,000 new IRS agents I'm hiring to investigate those who do not willingly participate in my health care reform, Obamacare.
And they will get to the bottom of this.
Yes, Jim.
So since this is all true, could we also say that the Dark Knight Rises was responsible for the tragedy in that Aurora, Colorado movie theater?
Well, actually, no, because anti-Islamic conservative Republicans had nothing to do with that movie.
In that one rare, isolated case.
The man who pulled the trigger was clearly at fault.
In fact, let me tell you this.
When I went upstairs one night last week, Malia told me that Michelle had broken a window in the residence right in the area where Nancy Reagan used to host tea for the old Washington Biddies way back in the day.
And I had to correct Malia and tell her she was wrong.
The window broke because it was there.
If mommy had thrown that bust of Churchill up against the wall, the window would not have broken and the gardener would not have had to go to the hospital.
But the window was where she threw it.
So the window was clearly to blame in that situation.
Yes, John.
Mr. President, a caller to the Rush Limbaugh show last week suggested that you, sir, might actually be responsible for these uprisings because they said you've been spiking the ball since you killed bin Laden, specifically making your convention all about bin Laden being dead.
Have you considered sending the police to round up Rush Limbaugh for questioning?
Let me say this about that.
I don't know what is in Rush Limbaugh's heart.
Now, and Rush Limbaugh has the constitutional right of free speech, just like everyone else, except for the filmmaker, Nikula.
But we may have to review his phone records to track down that caller and question her just a bit.
And we are very interested in how his call screener, Mr. Snerdley, I believe that's his name, even allowed that call to go through.
What hour of the show was that?
Media Matters said it happened in the second hour.
They have the whole thing, and it has already been set to the networks and the papers.
Now, I'd like to have Secretary Clinton answer your question.
Yes, Judy.
Madam Secretary, would you like to apologize just one more time to Muslims around the world?
Yes.
Let me take a moment to address the video circulating on the internet that has led to these protests in a number of countries.
Let me state very clearly, and I hope it is obvious, President Obama had absolutely nothing to do with this video.
And it's absolutely the source of all our problems in the region.
When I saw Mr. Nakula, the filmmaker, being rounded up, I was finally proud of my country.
Thank you.
Thank you, Madam Secretary.
And thank you for your questions.
Look, I know you guys are all taking a lot of fleck for your reporting and all of this.
And I want to tell the American people that the reason for that is Mitt Romney.
If Governor Romney had not shot before he aimed and started criticizing me and all of this, you could have looked elsewhere.
But Romney, he made these attacks and this story about him last week by criticizing my decisive leadership.
And you had no choice but to ignore me and tell the American people how some of this is actually his fault.
Keep up the good work.
God bless the United States and God help Mitt Romney.
And there you have an impromptu press conference at the White House.
Our microphones were there, President Obama and a willingly compliant, collaborative, corrupt media, as you heard, making it clear, ladies and gentlemen, that the filmmaker and his YouTube video is solely responsible.
What did we learn today?
Not just for the riots and the assassinations in the Middle East, the attacks on American installations.
No, we learned just now that the filmmaker is responsible for rising gas prices, that that YouTube video is directly related, according to Obama, what he said Bernanke told him, to continuingly high, stubbornly high, I believe he said, unemployment.
We learned a considerable amount today.
The filmmaker responsible for much, much more than simply the unrest in the Middle East.
By the way, there have now been anti-U.S. protests in 21 different countries.
That means there's one protest for every mention of Obama killing Osama at the Democrat convention.
And we will be back.
Hi, how are you?
Welcome back, Rush Libbaw, brand new week, broadcast excellence behind the Golden EIB microphone.
Did you hear that the National Football League pulled a replacement referee?
Guy's name is Brian Strapolo.
He was working the Saints Panthers game, and they pulled him from the game.
You know why?
Because he's a rabid Saints fan.
They found all over his Facebook page all kinds of Saints stuff.
So they pulled this referee from the Saints Panthers game because it was discovered he's this rabid Saints fan.
Now, wouldn't it be great if our national news media had standards as high as the National Football Leagues?
There wouldn't be any reporters left.
You pull every reporter off the White House beat that is a big Obama fan, there wouldn't be anybody in there.
A national foot, of all places, a National Football League showing us how it's done.
Did you see, folks, have you seen either the video or the still photo of the filmmaker being rounded up at 1.40 a.m. out of his house in Southern California?
I forget what the name of the town doesn't matter.
Sheriff's Department taking him in, apparently on a parole violation.
And of course, the regime got everything they wanted out of this.
They got the guy rounded up.
He was wearing a cap low on his head and a towel, a bath towel around his neck and dark glasses.
He did not want to be seen.
Didn't want to be recognized.
I looked at that.
Honestly, folks, I looked at that and I said, oh, my God, what has happened to our country?
Last Thursday and Friday, we're sitting here making jokes as the regime pitifully and pathetically tries to blame an outbreak of violence all around the Middle East on this guy on a YouTube video that nobody saw other than 12 people at a screening in June.
And of course, Mrs. Clinton's out there trumpeting this.
Jay Carney said, of course, this is no protest against the U.S. or U.S. policy.
It's simply the video.
And it was ridiculous.
It was laughably ridiculous.
Then we learned that the president of Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood guy, Mr. Morsi, had commanded Obama to dissuade people from criticizing Islam.
Then this guy gets rounded up.
All he did was exercise his First Amendment rights.
That's all he did.
Now, they rounded him on the pretext that is a parole violation or something connected to parole because he was convicted of bank fraud.
But the fact, you know, I thought of that picture of Alian Gonzalez and the armed agents storming in that little house down in a little Havana with Janet El Rinho downstairs outside waiting to take the kid back to Cuba.
But this was far worse.
After the sheriff's office brought the guy in, Nakula, the filmmaker, was interviewed by federal parole officers, agents of the regime.
They exercise, that's police state power.
That's brown shirt stuff, folks.
And it was all for the photo op.
It was all to further this absurd lie that what happened last Tuesday, 9-11, or Monday, in the Middle East had nothing to do with 9-11.
It had nothing to do with Obama.
It had nothing to do with the United States.
It had nothing to do with Middleton Islam.
It had to do with this idiot who made his little video.
And everything had to be done to punish that guy.
It had to be done to carry out this silly notion that Obama had nothing to do with this or the scary is what it is.
They've just said they'll round up anybody they need for a photo op to carry off a bit of misdirection that they are attempting to pull off.
We never see these kinds of pictures of them trying to apprehend terrorists.
We never see pictures like this.
We never see pictures of our government going after genuine back.
Was, to me, it was chilling.
It was really, really, this is the stuff that we have been joking about with people, that this is the kind of guy Obama is, and this is where the country's at.
There it was.
Willing to wait for his second term for this to happen.
Glenn Reynolds, Ronza Blog Insta pundit, he's also a law professor at the University of Tennessee, wrote a piece over the weekend saying, This is it.
Obama should resign.
This is a flagrant violation of his oath of office.
Reynolds pointed out it doesn't take an oath of office to grow the economy or to create jobs or all this other happy malarkeys running around lying about.
The oath is to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States.
He just stepped all over it.
It's serious.
And I have to think that the American people silently noticed this.
I think the American people are silently noticing a lot of things.
I don't, for example, believe that anywhere near a vast majority of the American people are doing anything other than laughing or reacting incredulously to the regime's attempted explanation that what happened in the Middle East on 9-11 had to do with this guy.
A woman that called the program a couple weeks ago said, look at Obama's response.
Well, he's run out there spiking the football.
Osama's dead.
GM's alive, taking credit for it 21 times at Democratic Convention.
That would certainly agitate him.
And we know that it did because the Egyptian protesters were shouting, we're all Osama's Obama.
Clearly, it's President Obama who is culpable in the outbreak of violence in the Middle East on 9-11 this year.
It's this administration.
And keep in mind, this is the guy who was going to make us loved.
This was the president who was going to end all of this rancor and argument and terrorism.
A new face, a new set of policies, a new belief that the United States was itself guilty and that we would be willing to say so.
We'd be willing to apologize.
And this was going to mollify these people.
Conflict Resolution 101.
Look what it got us.
There's utter incompetence on parade with Obama's domestic policy.
There is incompetence on parade and foreign policy.
It's falling apart.
It's imploding.
Our foreign policy, United States foreign policy, which includes national security, is literally disintegrating before our eyes.
It's falling apart.
It's scary as it can be.
And Mitt Romney isn't responsible for any of it.
Mitt Romney has had nothing to do with it.
Mitt Romney's had nothing to do with harming our economy.
Mitt Romney has proposed plans to save it and revive it.
And it's not hard to do.
It's not hard to get started.
It is Barack Obama who is at war with this country.
Recent events prove it.
This is not a cliché.
It's not a figure of speech.
Obama is at war with the U.S. economy.
Look at what's happening to the U.S. middle class.
It is shrinking.
It's becoming the lower class.
It's becoming the lower class precisely because of policies put in place by this administration.
Mitt Romney has had nothing to do with harming the middle class.
But like our foreign policy, Obama's destroying it.
Romney has done nothing to harm education.
Romney's plans would revitalize it, bring freedom of choice to parents.
Obama has defunded school choice in Washington.
Obama has said parents in Washington will not have a choice in where their kids go to school, like he does, because his loyalty is to teachers and horrible, deteriorating, disintegrating schools.
Obama hasn't spoken out against the striking teachers in Chicago.
And we know why.
Because of me.
But would he have anyway?
Mitt Romney hasn't done a thing to harm General Motors or Chrysler.
Today, General Motors is pushing the U.S. to sell its stake.
Treasury Department resisting General Motors' push for the government to sell off its stake in the automaker.
The Wall Street Journal is saying this.
Following a $50 billion bailout in 2009, U.S. taxpayers now own almost 27% of General Motors.
A newspaper, The Journal, said that GM executives are now chafing at that, saying it hurts the company's reputation and its ability to attract top talent due to pay restrictions.
General Motors is saying that they've got a branding problem.
General Motors, it's because of Obama ownership.
General Motors is saying that they cannot hire the best people who love cars and could help revitalize the company because they're governed by what Obama says people can make.
And as you all know, Barack Obama is at war with successful, high-earning individuals and wants to do something about it.
So at his automobile company, there is a limit on how much anybody can make.
And as such, people qualified to go in there and perhaps reverse the direction of General Motors want no part of it because GM is a joke.
It's laughed at.
It's called government motors.
And you can't make any money there.
Barack Obama thinks this is saving the company.
Barack Obama thinks this is saving the U.S. auto industry.
All he's done is take this country further into debt, promising endless pensions and health care benefits for retired auto workers starting at age 50 who now own the company.
It was Obama who destroyed the investors of General Motors, the bondholders, including the pension funds.
Mitt Romney had nothing to do with it.
Mitt Romney has done nothing to outsource jobs.
Mitt Romney hasn't done diddly squat to outsource jobs, but in this General Motors example, Obama's branding, his tax regulatory policy statements have chased companies overseas.
Make no mistake about it.
American companies are expanding overseas where there are fewer limits on growth, investment, regulation, tax policy, fewer regulations on compensation.
This is what is happening to the country.
I, ladies and gentlemen, don't think that it is happening.
Or let me, I don't think it's going unnoticed by a majority of people who are going to vote.
There's too much going wrong.
There's too much destruction.
There's too much implosion.
The majority of people live in this country do not agree with Obama that this country is guilty.
The majority of Americans who vote in this country do not think that we need to pay a price for our evil ways in the past and that we need to be cut down to size.
The majority of people who vote in this country do not believe that American exceptionalism should be wiped out as a concept.
Barack Obama is running for office as if he is the outsider.
He's running for office as though he's not been in office for three and a half years.
Barack Obama is running a campaign oriented toward defeating the current president.
He's running against himself, but not saying so.
He's the insider.
He's the candidate of big government.
He's the candidate who has given us his policies that are shutting coal mines and public utilities, driving up the cost of electricity, blocking domestic drilling everywhere he can, driving up the cost of gasoline, blocking business expansion, driving down employment, and borrowing trillions of dollars, which is destroying the value of our currency.
All of this being done by one man in his administration, Barack Obama.
Mitt Romney has had nothing to do with it, and Mitt Romney wouldn't get anywhere near replicating any of this.
Is this an anniversary of Occupy Wall Street?
This is the one-year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street.
I want to take you back, ladies and gentlemen, October 6th of last year on this program, said I, your host.
I think, folks, the regime wants to run against Mitt Romney.
That's what I think.
Here's what I'm thinking.
When do you think these astroturf protests were first talked about?
This Occupy Wall Street thing.
How long have they been in the works, do you think?
I have been asking myself this, because this is not spontaneous eruption here.
This is a well-thought-out plan.
As I recall this now, Occupy Wall Street, I thought the administration wanted to run against Romney from the get-go.
And we went through the reasons.
Big, evil Wall Street, Fat Cat, Bain Capital, Romney Care, and all during the Republican primaries, I made this point.
Interesting to go back and relive this.
Now, here we are.
We have a montage of Obama media people who are, again, this CNN guy actually tweeted out an Obama donation form.
Hambley is his name.
Peter Hambley tweeted out an Obama fundraising form in advance of an Obama visit to Wisconsin on August or September 22nd, Saturday, day after the iPhone is released.
And people are just yawning about, oh, hum, no biggie.
Because people know.
Here is a media montage.
Media celebrating one year of Occupy Wall Street.
Today marks the one-year anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement.
Occupy Wall Street protesters plan to march on the New York Stock Exchange this hour.
They're marking their one-year anniversary.
The Occupy Wall Street movement, it's marking its first anniversary.
Occupy Wall Street movement marking its one-year anniversary.
The Occupy Wall Street movement marking its one-year anniversary.
Today marks the one-year anniversary since the Occupy Wall Street movement began.
The Occupy Wall Street movement is one year old today.
Yeah, well, what's going on with it?
Is it something big out there?
Is the Occupy Wall Street movement overwhelming in size?
Let's go to CNN, the Squawk Box show this morning.
Joe Kernan, the host, speaking with correspondent Kayla Taushi about the Occupy Wall Street protest.
Kernan says there's still a lot of cops, a lot of photographers, a lot of reporters, and they've got a few protesters.
How many are there, Caleb?
Joe, I think the ratio of media and police to the protesters is probably about one to one.
Of course, the NYPD ready for this.
They knew what to expect.
Guess that's the problem when you lay out where you're going, is that the police can be there before you, but we're hearing these familiar chants, we're seeing some familiar faces, and it definitely feels like even if it's just for one more day, there is a little bit of momentum here in lower Manhattan.
Oh, are they hoping?
Oh, are they hoping they've got something spontaneous and real?
They don't.
It's a rent-a-mob.
And if the ratio of media and cops and security people to protesters is one to one, then the number of protesters is tiny.
But remember, it's a rent-a-mob.
There's nothing genuine or spontaneous.
Just like there wasn't a year ago when the whole thing kicked off.
Okay, my friends, another exciting hour of broadcast excellence officially in the can.
But we've got two more big, exciting hours to go.
We've got a great soundbite roster here.
And just I've been doing some thinking about where we are as a country and why we're where we are and where we're headed, what can be done to stave it off, if anything.
Perhaps share some of that with you today, too, as the program unfolds.
