Hi folks, welcome back.
Great to have you, Rush Limboss serving humanity from the Limbo Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies on Friday.
Live from the Southern Command in Sunny South Florida.
It's open line Friday.
Yeah, I just realized we've only taken one call today.
It's open line Friday.
That's because I've had so much to say.
But we're gonna we're gonna rectify that in this hour.
And we're gonna take another call.
And then maybe another one after that.
So here's the telephone number, 800-282-2882, the email address L Rushbo at EIBNet.com.
When we next get to the audio sound bites, it'll be the drive by media in crisis.
Obama's speech didn't live up to Clinton.
Obama's speech didn't even live up to Biden.
Obama's speech disappointed them.
They don't know how to explain it.
They don't know why it was so bad.
They don't know why they felt so empty after hearing it.
They don't know why it wasn't any better than it was.
If you are just joining us, you're a welfare recipient, just getting out of bed.
Clint Eastwood granted an interview to a local newspaper where he lives, the Carmel Pine Cone.
And in this interview, he said, President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.
Let me ask you a quick question.
If Eastwood had said that at the convention, instead of what he did, he went out there with the empty chair.
If he had just done a traditional political convention speech, and as part of it said, Obama's the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.
What do you think the reaction would have been?
Now, in the convention hall, it would have erupted, and you and I would have gone nuts and we would have loved it.
But what about others?
You think so?
You you'd think that his name would have been stricken from every Hollywood production he's ever had anything to do with.
You would no longer be able to rent the dirty hairy movies or buy them, for example.
Well, what's different than saying it now than then?
I mean, it's it's out there, adds many people are gonna hear about it.
Doesn't matter.
It's in it's in print and there's no video.
No video of it.
Okay, that's interesting.
There's no video, no pictures of it.
I think Eastwood he knew exactly what he was doing.
He went out there, said what he said, did it the way he intended to do it.
It had it still got life.
His appearance is still being talked about.
But you know, the Republican consultants would have said if he'd have said that at our convention, I would have really turned off the independence.
That that would have been very bad.
That would not have been respectful disagreement with Obama.
That that would have been personal insult and the independence would not have liked it.
That's what our consultants would have said.
But now that he said it, Obama's the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.
And then he said, Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that's what everybody needs to know.
I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.
This is brilliantly conceived, flawlessly executed stuff.
He said what he said.
It lasted well, still last over a week.
And now he adds to it.
With a local newspaper interview, the Carmel Pine cone.
That's one reason that you hope newspapers don't all die out.
We all need to be able to quote from the Carmel Pine cone.
I don't care for the big national newspapers after the local papers, that's a whole different.
That's a whole different uh world.
Uh oh, folks, uh a good friend of the family, 96-year-old Chammy, who is up in Minneapolis.
Uh her birthday is it today.
It was her birthday.
I think it's I guess very close.
Anyway, she was she she fell.
She's been in the hospital for a while.
She hasn't been able to hear the program.
And that depressed her.
She uh listens to the program each and every day.
She hadn't been able to.
She's back now and able to, so we wanted to just extend our best wishes and a welcome back to Shammy.
96 years old, young in uh in Minneapolis.
Well, uh Eden Prairie, but I mean it's it's close enough.
Here's here's a story.
Joe Kildea in what?
The Daily Caller.
Why has the Democrat convention been such a disaster?
Daily Caller.
The Daily Caller is Chatsworth Osborne Jr.'s website.
When asked about the Democrat convention, Mitt Romney called it a celebration of failure.
Now, granted, it might have been a little biased.
Yet the spectacle coming out of the DNC this week is hard to ignore or even gloss over with well-intentioned words.
It has been a disaster.
Exhibit A, the Democrats' embarrassing reversal of their party platform where God got booed.
Another embarrassment, Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz.
Then there was the ABC Washington Post poll that was released Tuesday night showing Obama with a 47% approval rating.
We've talked about that poll quite a bit on this program, but I'll tell you, it hasn't been discussed widely, but this poll was devastating news to Obama and I and the Democrats, and that's that's why it wasn't discussed much.
His favorability 47%.
This was the poll earlier this week in which it was revealed that he's losing ground big time with women.
And it had everybody on the Democrat side just stunned after all this money that they've spent tarring and feathering uh Romney and Ryan and war on women and the devotion at the convention to they love women, they love abortion, they love condoms, they love birth control pills.
And not only is Romney up about 10 with men, but Obama was only up one in this poll with women, and they were shocked.
Last week, Republicans in Tampa talked about the $16 trillion national debt, job creation and tax reform this week in Charlotte.
The Democrats are talking about free contraception, abortion rights, and even more public spending, or as they call it investment.
Perhaps the average female voter doesn't care as much about free contraception as the Democrats think they do.
In contrast, the Republican convention, objectively speaking, went fairly smooth.
You put another way, these conventions reflect the personalities of the two parties' respective nominees.
On the right, Romney, a guy well schooled in the art of good management, on the left, Obama, a man with no real management skills, and a convention that was a folks, it really was a disaster.
You can't you can't judge this on the basis of the energy level of the delegates or the attendees.
It was whether people saw it that way or not, forget perception.
I know perception is said to be reality.
In this case, if this had been our convention, we would be feeling devastated.
If this kind of stuff had happened at ours, we would think it's over.
It was not done well.
It was a mishmash.
And your slogan is forward, and your heroes of this convention are dinosaurs, Ted Kennedy and Clinton.
Your theme is war on women, and your two big stars are womanizers.
One of your big stars, you can't even invite John Edwards.
And then the Pies de Resistance, the grand finale is a dud with uh with Obama's speech.
In Tampa, the Republicans moved their convention around to accommodate a hurricane in Charlotte.
The Democrats panicked over a 30% chance of rain.
When Republicans poked fun at the switcheroo, one Obama campaign official said, Look, if we were worried about crowd size, we certainly wouldn't listen to Mitt Romney about how to build a crowd.
Why is that?
Because the 2002 winter Olympics in Salt Lake City was not one of the most watched, most financially successful Olympics in recent.
Oh, it was.
Everywhere you look in comparison, the Republican convention was professional, accomplished what they set out to accomplish.
The Democrat convention was an absolute disaster.
Audio sound bites, here's Bob Schaeffer.
In crisis.
Obama's speech just didn't live up to Clinton's.
This was not the kind of speech that Bill Clinton made last night.
You just it just didn't have that little spark, it seemed to me, uh, that Clinton had over and over again.
I thought it was a good speech.
Uh I thought he uh laid out uh his side of the story here.
That soaring rhetoric uh that we heard in uh the speech in 2008.
I didn't hear that tonight.
Maybe it's just me, but maybe I'm still getting over the Bill Clinton speech last night.
Yeah, that's probably true.
I think these people are totally in the tank and absorbed with Clinton.
But you see, it wasn't just me thinking this thing was a bomb.
People on the left thought so too.
Here, Charlie Rose and David Brooks on the Charlie Rose show on PBS last night.
Uh listen to this.
Jody Cantor, we had David Meredith in here, Peter Baker's got a new piece.
There's coming up in Vanity Fair piece by Michael Lewis.
What comes out of this is the enormous competitiveness of the president, number one.
Number two, sometimes something bordering on arrogance, and number three, that sometimes he can believe more in his abilities than justify.
Yeah.
Well, that's for sure.
And then I think the fourth thing that I would add to that is the anti-political aloofness.
This has been a conscious strategy of uh the people around him.
Separate him from the politicians.
He's not a normal politician, he's a transformational figure.
Transformational to what?
I don't know, Messiah.
You want to be a transformational figure.
You have to be taking us somewhere.
Here's Charlie Rose, who four years ago admitted with Brokaw he didn't know who Obama was.
He didn't know anything about him.
And now he doesn't know what he's transforming us to.
You can't wait to vote for the guy.
Charlie cannot wait to vote for Obama.
Can't wait for Obama to be president.
But he admits on his own TV show, he had the slightest idea who the guy is.
And these pieces he's talking about.
Jody Candor, that's the Sunday New York Times piece, where people call Obama arrogant and aloof, and not a nice guy.
The Marinus uh biography, uh, which basically exposed the lies in Obama's books.
And Peter Baker, that's the New York Times yesterday.
Well, he said, Obama hadn't given a good speech in I don't know how long.
Or was that the politico?
Yeah, Baker's Baker's article was about something else.
But it's it's it's it's all this stuff.
What Charlie is alluding to that he doesn't get is that what these people are doing is preparing, if necessary, to throw Obama overboard in order to save the ideology.
Which will happen if they think Obama is gonna lose.
If they ever reach that conclusion before the election, then it it's time circle the wagons around liberalism.
Time to circle the wagons around socialism, statism, Trotskyites, Marxism, whatever.
Circle the wagons and save that.
That cannot be blamed if Obama is going to lose.
Now, for David Brooks, I'd say, what's the problem?
Pal uh Obama's crease in his slacks is identical to what it was four years ago when you said that the crease in his slacks really impressed you and told you he was going to be not just the president, he was gonna be a good one.
Has something happened to the crease in his slacks, David?
No, I'm not making this up.
David Brooks said that.
I have to new members of the audience every day here.
Tune in factors out of sight.
David Brooks of the New York Times actually said four years ago that one of the things impressed him about Obama was the crease in his slacks when they had lunch or dinner at George Will's house.
And he he wrote he knew he was going to be great president just because of that.
Well, the crease in the slacks is still the same.
so what's gone wrong iPhone five in two weeks from today, ladies and gentlemen.
What why are you asking me about the iPad?
You're thinking about getting you don't have a retin iPad yet?
I can't believe that.
Somebody of my staff didn't have a retin iPad.
Uh Tom in Orlando, as we go back to the phones open line Friday.
Thank you very much for waiting.
Hi.
Hi, Rush.
Long time first time.
Um if your earlier caller, I was feeling good last night and fully prepared just to relax.
I knew we were going to hear nothing but BS, lies, distortions, and we didn't even make it through the introductory video for Barack Obama before I was out of my chair yelling at the TV.
Bill Clinton, in talking about Barack Obama and the Osama bin Laden decision, actually said when he heard about it, he sat there and thought, gee, I wonder when I was in office if I was presented with the same opportunity if I would have had the guts that this Barack Obama had in pulling the trigger on Osama bin Laden.
And I was I was screaming at the TV saying, You did.
You did in 1999.
You could have taken him out, and you specifically did not.
And three thousand of our fellow citizens died as a result.
So you're just leave it to Billy Jeff to really.
I must out of your chair.
Admit I didn't see the introductory video.
I missed it.
I knew that it was going to be the same character witnesses.
I really, unlike you, I'm not exaggerating.
I was feeling ill, sick to my stomach.
Just felt like I could go to sleep, blah, depressed.
Not because I knew what was coming like you did.
I was just worried about I people are going to believe this crap.
That just because it it it it means that there's so many damn morons in this country, and that just depresses me.
But I did not see did Clinton actually say, you know, I wonder if I'd have the guts to have pull a trigger like this brave president when I was presented with the opportunity to get Bin Laden.
Did he say that?
He said that.
It's in the introductory video.
You've got to be he had he had two chances.
The Sudanese offered us bin Laden without firing a shot.
And Clinton turned it down.
And then if you remember the movie The Path to 9-11 that Disney edited on Clinton's demand, and they've never released the DVD of this movie.
Now I, a powerful influential member of the media, I have the DVD because I know the screenwriter, Cyrus Norasta.
And that movie makes it clear that they had Obama dead to rights.
They had our guys there.
Osama dead to rights.
We had him in the shot, had him in the site, and because there were women and children at the mosque or wherever bin Laden was, uh Clinton Richard Clark said, don't take the shot.
So you're right.
But let me tell you what Clinton's doing with this.
This is the loyal Democrat.
I think I think uh uh Clinton's doing everything to set Hillary up for 2016.
Make no mistake.
One of the happiest guys in this country would be Bill Clinton if Obama loses.
Now, Obama doesn't have to lose to set Hillary up for 2016, but it would make it a lot easier.
If she's running against a Republican incumbent.
If Obama wins, that's uh you at that point people want to change a party no matter what's going on, usually.
It's a rare exception when that uh when that doesn't happen.
Oh, I can understand why you jumped out of your chair on that.
Thanks for the call, Tom.
Uh John in Cornwall, New York.
Hello, sir.
Aha Rushy.
Giga Diddles to you, long time listener, an honor to speak with you.
Thank you very much, sir.
Appreciate that.
Um, I'm calling because I am fed up with hearing the term paying your fair share.
Amen, bro.
I've I've had my fair share stolen from me every day in taxes and hidden fees in the last 43 years and I have been working.
Are paying 70% of all the tax revenue anyway?
If the game's rigged, that's where it's rigged.
And when are the recipients of their of my fair share going to pay their fair share?
You know, that is an excellent.
Can I about that?
That is an excellent.
These people talk about you didn't build it.
You you you you you didn't make that happen.
As far as I'm concerned, the people who aren't paying taxes don't get to run around claiming that they built everything, that they built the roads and that they built the bridges and so forth.
If it weren't for the taxes of the 1%, the 2%, the 5%, the 10%, then the 89 million people who aren't working wouldn't be eating.
And making phone calls on their cell phones or watching their plasmas or whatever.
Some of this stuff is just backwards.
But uh that's what I mean again by this being Democrat playbook boilerplate.
Rich aren't paying their fair share, the poor are getting the shaft.
Uh stuff that that we've heard for the last fifty years.
And if you're only 30 years old listening to the programming for 25, I'm telling you, everything Obama said, like Jimmy Carter said it in 1980, it's almost verbatim.
This has been standard operating procedure, word for word practically, what the Democrats have said when they get in trouble for at least 50 years.
I just saw something I don't believe.
There's going to be a teacher's strike in Chicago.
If they don't get the deal done by September 10th, unionized teachers are going on strike in Chicago.
How can that be?
Chicago's run by Democrats, the Godfather, Rom Emanuel.
Democrats love unions.
They love teachers.
They think teachers ought to have unending health care and pensions and not really have to work.
They don't think teachers ought to have to qualify themselves.
There shouldn't be any testing to make sure that teachers are good at what they do.
Why are teachers going on strike in Chicago and they did not strike in Wisconsin?
There's no teacher strike in Wisconsin where there's a Republican governor, Scott Walker.
Remember, he was going to destroy the state.
He was going to destroy their pensions.
He was going to fire them all.
None of that ever happened.
Why would teachers, unionized teachers strike in a town run by their buddies?
The Democrats.
I thought the Democrats gave the unions everything they wanted.
You want a pension of $150,000 a year plus health care after you retire at age 50?
You got it.
Thank you.
Why isn't the Godfather coming forth with this?
Illinois raised their taxes by 66%.
Income taxes, why can't they afford this?
Seriously, folks.
I'm sitting here, I'd be stunned.
How can teachers, how can unions ever go on strike against a Democrat, mayor or governor, or president.
Obama in his speech last night said uh two things which are not true.
Well, one thing was said about him, which isn't true, and he said something himself that isn't true.
His wife, Michelle My Bell Obama, during her speech, I think even Clinton during his speech, and Biden during his speech, said that.
Obama was constantly by his mother's bedside when she was ill, passing away.
But he wasn't.
He was on his book tour.
I have here nothing less than the Washington Post, August 4th, 24th, 2008.
And it's an actual random act of journalism.
The Washington Post went out and did a more recent fact check, debunking some of Obama's claims about his mother's death.
This is an article they posted back in 2008.
And this is when they were fawning over him, don't forget.
And they let some facts slip out in this piece.
It turns out here that the facts in this piece are even more damning than the later fact check on this.
Headline, though Obama had to leave to find himself.
It is Hawaii that made his rise possible.
Now this is the fawning period.
This is August of 2008.
But now Obama was drawn back to Hawaii to say goodbye to his mother.
Too late, as it turned out.
She died on November 7th, 1995, before he could get there.
Anne Dunham had returned to Honolulu early that year, a few months before Dreams from My Father was published.
She was weakened from a cancer that had been misdiagnosed in Indonesia as indigestion.
American doctors first thought it was ovarian cancer, but an examination at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Center in New York determined it was uterine cancer that had spread to her ovaries.
Stan had died a few years earlier, and Madeline still lived in the apartment on Baritania.
Anne took an apartment on the same floor and underwent chemotherapy treatments while keeping up with her work as best she could.
Alice Dewey, chair of the University of Hawaii, said she took it in stride.
She never complained, never said why me.
And the article notes Stanley Ann Dunham, Sotoro, developed cancer in 1994 while in Indonesia.
Anyway, you heard throughout the convention that Obama was right there at his mother's bedside.
Well she was sick and well she passed away.
Devoted son.
He wasn't even in the state.
He was on the book tour for dreams from my father.
He didn't get home in time.
She passed away before he got there.
Mr. Limbaugh, why are you bringing up this ancient family history and trying to destroy the good vibe in the Vinant family?
Obviously that's for it's the voice of Mr. Newcastrati.
No.
I'm not trying to do anything here other than square the facts.
It's a character reference we had on the president all this week in the convention.
So devoted he was there, his mother's bedside when she passed away.
He wasn't.
I'm not saying anything else.
I'm just saying that they said he was there and he was.
He was on his book tour, and when it was told that, hey, Barry Time's approaching, you better he didn't get home in time.
Washington Post.
August 24, 2008, the second story.
Why, lo and behold, it's also from the Washington Post.
And the headline says it all.
Obama's mother had health insurance, according to biography.
It's an article from the Washington Post 2011, July 14th, after Obama had been using his mother's death to push for Obamacare for more than two years.
And the upshot of the story is that Obama's mother did have health insurance when she died.
And nobody's disputing the claims in the biography.
Now this biography of Obama's mother also debunks Obama's claim that he was by his mother's side through her ordeal.
He was not.
This is the second source for this.
He hadn't visited his mother for months before her death.
He was too busy on his book tour.
He was running for office.
He was you know what else he was doing?
When his mother died?
He was organizing the Million Man March with Lewis Farakon.
Now I'm just saying we had character references, folks, all week long from three people, Moochell and a great swimsuit dress she wore, got a handed to her, great props there.
Joe Bite Me, Bill Clinton.
And one of the references was devoted son.
Mother passed away, Barack by her side.
He wasn't.
He wasn't there for months prior to her death.
He was on his book tour and organizing the million men march for Calypso Louie.
Didn't get home in time.
you Now it's right here in the Washington Post.
Obama's mother had full coverage for her cancer.
Full coverage.
Nobody denied her.
Her insurance company didn't deny her.
She was not denied treatment.
Her battle was to get disability insurance payments for her out-of-pocket expenses.
This, according to a singular woman, a biography of Dunham by Janny Scott, over saw or who covered the campaign as a reporter for the New York Times.
She had health insurance, and it was not denied.
And Obama again last night alluded to the fact that she didn't.
That life had treated her unfairly.
It isn't true.
Okay, here's Bob, St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Great that you are on the program, and thank you for waiting as well.
Hi, Rush.
Hi.
It's real nice to get through to you to be able to talk to you.
Thank you, sir.
First of all, I want to thank you for helping uh to maintain our national sovereignty.
Well, I appreciate that, sir.
Thank you very much.
That really means a lot.
Now, I I appreciate getting through in order to uh bring up a question that I think is really important at this time.
And my question is uh uh to what extent do you think illegal voting will be a factor in the upcoming election?
I don't know to what extent it will occur, but I do know the Democrats are counting on it and want it to happen.
They want the option to cheat.
It is why they are so opposed to voter ID, photo ID, uh, in order to vote.
And I suppose that's why they want all these illegals into the country, you know.
Damn right.
Yeah, so they're thinking even though they don't a lot of them won't have the uh not only that, they're they're their their future potential dependence on government.
Yeah.
The last thing they want is these people coming and becoming self-reliant.
That's not that that does not further the Democrat Party at all.
Self-reliance, individualism, people taking care of themselves does not advance the Democrat Party, and that's all they're interested in.
Now, when it comes to illegal voting, somebody's gonna have to explain to me where I'm wrong about this.
You uh something that needs to be said about this too.
You need a photo ID to cash check to buy things, you need a photo ID to get on an airplane.
You need a photo ID for practically everything.
Democrats do not want minorities to have to have a photo ID.
You had to have a photo ID to get near and then in the Democrat Convention.
But they don't want you to have to have one to vote.
And the only reason for that is so they can cheat.
There can be no other reason.
Now they say that a lot of blacks in America scared to death to go down and get a photo ID because that means the government's then gonna start spying on them, and their experience with the government's not all that healthy, and they don't trust the government.
I don't know why the Democrats run it, they vote for Democrats.
I don't know what the problem is.
But you look at all of the mainstream economic activity that requires a photo ID that Democrat leaders are very comfortable with denying many of their voters.
Can't get on an airplane without one.
You can't cash a check without One.
You need a photo ID for practically everything that you do in our society today.
And yet the Democrat leaders are content with American blacks being shut out of mainstream economic activity.
The only way to look at it.
The only way it makes sense is.
I mean, you can't buy alcohol without you.
Can't buy cigarettes if you're young, and if there's any doubt about your age.
You have to have a photo ID.
To open a bank account.
Much less cash a check.
Democrats even had an illegal alien speak at their convention.
First time that's ever happened.
Did you know that?
Don't doubt me.
First time an illegal immigrant spoke about well, I don't know what he said, or she said I didn't see it.
But I know it was scheduled.
Bob, thank you very much.
I appreciate your kind words.
This is Kathleen, White Lake, Michigan.
You're next on the EIB network.
Hello.
Hi, Rush.
Uh, it's a pleasure to talk with you.
Um, you know, it's very nervous right now, first-time caller, and I have a little cold, but um I want to thank my mom and dad, first of all, for introducing uh uh you to me, me to you in my younger years.
Um my question for you is um Obama talks about trying to lower the health care costs for Americans.
Um my husband currently works for a medical supply company who at this point in time are in a panic because um Obama signed into a law effective January that is uh corporation will be charged 2.7% tax on all medical devices and their sales, and it's called the MDXT tax.
And it's just one of many new taxes that will hit on January 1st if something isn't done.
The Bush tax rates will expire, and they'll go back up to what they were during the uh the wonderful and great uh Clinton years.
So, but you're right.
Uh there's a whole slew of taxes just waiting to kick in, and the tax on medical device, and by the way, the things that are now categorized as medical devices, even band-aids, I mean it'd be beyond this, some some ridiculous uh examples.
No, you're absolutely right.
It's just the tip of the iceberg.
*Boo*
Okay, that's it, my friends.
We gotta go.
The weekend is upon us.
It's the full fledged opening weekend of the National Football League.
Yep, yep, yep, yep, yahoo.
Ah, I'm starting to get a little jazz.
Starting to.
See you on Monday, folks.
