Time Text
Greetings and welcome back, Rushlin Boy, Excellence in Broadcasting Network.
Who does Obama think paid the taxes for the roads and the bridges and the stoplights?
Who paid for this?
Who paid for it?
People that don't have anything?
People who pay taxes paid for all this stuff.
Folks, it's a shame that we have to sit here and react to this kind of sophistry and explain to people how this country was built and who did it and why it happened and how it happened.
Because we live in a period of time where the president of the United States is trying to rewrite the history of this country and explain.
He wants you to believe it's socialists built this country.
He wants you to believe that the people who built this country got trod on, stepped on, never got a dime for what they did.
Everybody else stole their work and stole their businesses and everybody that became rich is basically a thief.
And the reason he's doing it is numbers.
There are far millions more people who aren't rich than there are people who are.
So he can fire up those people that are non-rich.
If you're an average liberal, you're sitting out there knowing that your life doesn't matter.
If you're an average liberal, you're looking in desperate, vain search for meaning in your life because you know you don't have any.
And everybody wants their lives to matter.
Why are liberals so susceptible to running around buying cheap little cars they think are going to save the planet?
Because liberals come to him and say, you know what, you've destroyed the planet, but you can redeem yourself.
You can save the planet.
Well, if you're sitting around there and you want your life to matter and it doesn't, and somebody comes along and tells you you can save the planet, all you got to do is drive a Prius.
Well, there you are in the showroom in five minutes trying to make a deal.
Because you want to, everybody wants to matter.
So here come Obama, here comes Elizabeth Warren, and they're trying to tell you, you know, all you people sitting around in your underwear watching television all day, you actually made this happen.
You made it happen.
You're the ones that built this country.
You're getting the shaft.
The people that are getting rich here stole it all from you.
They stole the work you did.
They stole the businesses that should be yours.
And it's depressing to realize that there are a bunch of people out going, yeah, yeah, yeah, when they hear this.
I understand people wanting their lives to matter.
Everybody does.
Everybody wants their life to have meaning.
Everybody's in search for the meaning of life general and the meaning of their life in particular.
So here come these demagogues.
And we now find ourselves right in the middle of history revision.
Normally, history revision takes place somewhat after specific events have taken place.
And I guess that's happening now.
The building of this country certainly isn't happening now.
It's being torn down.
Economists say that the sales and profit gains of early this year are disappearing and they're increasingly pessimistic about short-term growth.
They're also gloomy because of the potential impact in the United States from Europe's financial crisis.
They're gloomy over the possible expiration of the Bush tax rates in December, the prospects of major cuts in federal spending.
Look, nobody who counts for anything is upset over possible cuts in government spending.
The people who count for something, the people that matter, realize that has to happen.
You know what's always disturbed me about liberals?
Yeah, there are class differences, but I meant it last hour when I said before Karl Marx, nobody ever associated class differences with economic progress or not.
These thoughts that everybody has now, class envy, warfare, none of that existed before Karl Marx came along.
The left glommed onto it, and now they're trying to convince everybody in the lower classes that they're the ones that actually made all of this happen.
And by the way, this is not a criticism of people in the different classes.
I don't look at people this way at all.
That's my whole point.
These are the people that do, and they force it on us.
And they sit here and they make up these stories about all of this.
So they describe and they campaign on the basis that life is unfair.
The rich are not genuine.
They're not legitimate.
And not just the rich, nobody who achieved anything other than Obama, of course, and the Kennedys.
None of them are legitimate.
Okay, let's concede, just for the sake of argument, that we have this class-based society.
Why aren't the Democrats trying to raise everybody up?
You notice they try to get to their precious utopian equality by chopping everybody down.
They want everybody lowered to some mythical economic level where everybody is mythically, magically, supposedly equal.
There's a story at Newsbusters.
Sigourney Weaver, who's obviously brainless, gave an interview to David Gregory, and she's just mouthing a bunch of crap that she's probably heard her whole life.
Oh, yeah, everybody knows the Democrats are the party that want to help people, and the Republicans, all they want to do is help business.
If it weren't for Wall Street and big business, Barack Obama would not be president of the United States.
If anybody had big business in his back pocket, in his front pocket, and who knows whatever other pocket, it was Barack Obama.
But here we come with these stereotypes, and here's a poor Sigourney Weaver that she doesn't know any better.
Yeah, the Republicans are for big business.
The fact of the matter is, you pick any conservative anywhere and you talk to them about people, and you know what you're going to hear?
You're going to hear a desire that everybody elevate, that everybody get better.
You're going to hear conservatives talk about ways that everybody's lifestyle can expand, everybody's quality of life can improve.
You're going to hear optimism.
You're going to hear hopefulness.
You're going to hear policies and strategies to make that happen.
Any conservative, any genuine conservative you talk to is going to look at somebody and look at their potential and want to see potential, growth potential.
It is Democrats.
It's the left who have contempt for people, who have no faith in people.
It's the Democrat Party who doesn't think people have the ability to succeed on their own.
Ms. Weaver, she's not alone.
These people are just ignorant.
They've been raised to believe this stuff, just like Obama has.
They buy into all of these stereotypes.
They're brain dead.
They're not even thinking.
They're just regurgitating.
But the facts on the ground are just the exact opposite.
It's a Democrat Party that keeps people down.
It's a Democrat Party that breaks up their families.
It's the Democrat Party that has no faith in people to get by on their own.
It's the Democrat Party, the American left, that writes policy and program after program designed on the assumptions that people are incapable and incompetent.
That's the basis for liberal policy.
Not freedom, not equality.
Liberalism, Democrat Party, is oriented around the fact that people cannot succeed on their own and will not succeed on their own.
Conservatism, on the other hand, is oriented around the belief that everybody can be great.
And the more people trying it, the better off everybody is.
Conservatives believe that with the right circumstances and the right education, the right inspiration, the proper level of expectation, that everybody can be better than they think they can, that everybody has more in them than they know.
Every conservative I know believes this, and that's one of the reasons why we are so frustrated.
Have to sit here and listen to pap about how we want people to be on welfare, how we want people to be barely eking out lives on food stamps or what have you, how we want people to be walked all over.
That's a crock.
We want just the exact opposite.
The Democrat Party is ensuring that the lower classes stay there.
It's the Democrat Party that looks at average people and sees them as average after they see whether they're black, gay, Hispanic, male, female, what have you.
It takes about five examinations of a human being before the Democrat sees a human being, sees any humanity.
They see groups prior to that.
They see victims.
Everybody knows the Democrat Party is a party of people and the Republican Party is a party of big business.
Well, no.
The Democrat Party is a party that grows as people suffer.
The Democrat Party is a party that expands its power as more and more people have their lives ruined in the sense that they cannot provide for themselves.
The Democrat Party does everything it can.
And when it runs out, when too many people in this country finally find their way out of dependence, then what do the Democrats do?
Try to find the next group of people to become their permanent underclass.
That happens to be the illegal immigrants right now.
That's who the Democrats want to be, their permanent underclass, because a lot of Democrats and the permanent underclass don't want to stay there.
They want to improve their lives.
They want raises.
They want better jobs.
They have to listen to a president run around and talk about how it's not possible because all that's been stolen from them.
And his job is to take whatever he can from all these thieves and redistribute it and give it back to them.
So they're sitting around essentially with their hand out, hoping and praying that Master Obama will find a way to put some pittance in their hand and make even, get even with all the stuff that was stolen from them their whole life.
Other people are not waiting around for that.
They're simply using their ambition, their desire, their intelligence, their freedom to improve their quality of life.
And those people become the targets of the Democrat Party and the Obama administration.
You succeed, you're a target.
You achieve, you need to be punished.
You succeed, you achieve.
You then are said to be essentially a thief.
You didn't do it on your own.
Nameless, faceless, hardworking people.
They're the ones that made it possible for you, and you didn't pay them, and you didn't thank them.
You just stepped on them on your way up.
So here's Obama to make all that good now, make it all even.
And somehow, taking money away from the people who invest it and put it at risk and put it at play to grow a business will lead to new jobs.
Somehow, those people are the problem, and those people were going to take their money away so there is less activity.
There's less job creation.
There's less business expansion.
There's less risk.
How can there be improved or increased risk when Obama's taking money out of people's pockets who would otherwise spend it that way?
This is hideous what's happening here.
And it's frustrating to have to sit there and explain this to people after 230 years.
But the education system in this country has been so perverted and corrupted that every day they turn out brand new, brainwashed little angry victims who think if not for the guy who owns a dry cleaners down the corner, I'd be something.
The guy who owns a dry cleaners, he owes me.
I built the sidewalk in front of his dry cleaner shop.
He wouldn't have that if I hadn't built that sidewalk.
And you say, well, yeah, were you out there building?
Well, I paid for it.
You did, really?
Well, who is it paying the lion's share of taxes in this country today?
Top 1% are paying 70% of all taxes.
Where is it that these nameless, faceless people are paying all this to make it possible for the rich to succeed?
I've never understood the math.
The rich got rich by stealing from the poor.
It doesn't add up to me.
I've never understood the math on that.
But if you're sitting out there and you think your life is worthless and has no meaning, and somebody comes along and says, You could have been something if not for the guy who owns a dry cleaner store.
Okay, that's good for me.
I'll latch onto that.
Yeah, I could have been something if it weren't for that guy.
I could have been something if it weren't for the guy who owns a car dealership out there.
I could have been somebody.
I could have been a contender.
But the car dealership guy, he has what was mine, or he has what should have been mine.
And how do I know?
Because Obama's telling me every day.
This guy cannot possibly like or respect this country.
He cannot have any respect or admiration at all for the way this country was founded, the way it grew, the way it's exceptional, the way it became a world superpower, because he's trying to dismantle it brick by brick, door jam by door jam.
If the American dream is a giant mansion, Obama's going at it door by door and ripping it apart.
And there are too many doors being torn apart in this mansion for this to be accidental or circumstantial or coincidental.
And it's been going on for too long now, three and a half years, for it to be just somebody who doesn't get it.
And who's wrong?
No other way to put this now.
He was indoctrinated as a child.
His father was a communist.
He was raised by a communist.
Mother was a leftist.
Sent to PrEP and Ivy League schools where his contempt for the country was reinforced by the professoriate.
The faculty lounge moves to Chicago.
Oh, yeah, that's a great environment to grow up.
Home of the radical left movement hooks up with Bill Ayres, Bernadine Dorn, Rashid Khalidi.
Tony Resco is out there claiming that Romney's a felon when Romney didn't even know any, and half of Obama's inner circle are felons.
Hey, welcome back, my good friends El Rushboat.
Time to go to the phones now after that rant.
I don't know how anybody on the phone is going to top that, but we give it a shot.
Albany in New York, this is Ed.
I'm glad you called, sir.
Welcome to the EIB Network.
Hello.
Hi, Rush.
Basically, I think the Obama and the Democrats, the conclusion they drew from his 2000 election is that the American people are stupid.
He's the least qualified person in either field, far less qualified than even Sarah Palin, and the only person with his lack of qualifications, Hillary Clinton.
Basically, him and his allies in the media ran a confidence campaign or confidence game, I should say, on the American people, and they think they're going to be able to get away with doing it this time.
Well, I think there's no question.
They're campaigning on the stupidity of people.
The ignorance.
That's who they're building his constituency on.
A collection of ignorant this, ignorant that.
There's no question.
And he's counting on the fact that there are more of them than not.
Along the lines of what you say, Grab Soundbite 3.
Here's a montage.
The media, folks, while the country's going to hell in a handbasket, the media is thrilled.
They are excited beyond belief because Obama is swiftboating Romney.
They're excited.
They love it because they think they're now getting revenge for 2004.
Of course, there's no comparison.
The Swiftboat vets were a bunch of people that served with John Kerry who said he was unfit for command.
There's no group of Bane executives who work with Romney who say he shouldn't be president.
Not even a story here.
But here, listen to the montage.
This reminds me of John Kerry and the Swiftboat story.
This is a swiftboating of Mitt Romney.
The Swiftboat ads used the strength of John Kerry really against him.
It reminds me of 2004.
It's the Swiftboat summer definition.
Reminiscent of the Swiftboat attacks against John Kerry.
Swiftboating John Kerry.
So this is nothing new.
We certainly saw Republicans do this kind of stuff with John Kerry.
This is what was done to John Kerry.
Just as Republicans went after John Kerry on his military experience, Mitt Romney could become the second politician from Massachusetts swiftboated out of the presidency.
That was Tom Foreman.
He's next CNN.
Look at.
There's no comparison.
Swiftboat vets, people that served with Kerry, knew he wasn't what he said he was.
This is just revenge.
They're just happy.
They think they've finally come up with a way to pay the Republicans back.
Having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.
I am Rush Limbaugh, America's real anchor man, America's truth detector, and the doctor of democracy, serving humanity here simply by showing up.
Back to the phones to Wayne, Santa Monica, California.
Great to have you on the program, sir.
Hello.
Hey, Rush, Gittos from Behind Enemy Lines in Santa Monica.
Thank you, sir, very much.
Yeah, I was just thinking, if corporations aren't people, then what's the Democratic Party?
You know, what are unions?
What's the Sierra Club?
You know, those aren't people either, I guess, right?
Hey, what's the Obama administration?
Exactly.
You know, any group of people, I guess, more than two, is an incorporation to them.
I mean, it's got to be people.
Look, look at what's happening here.
See, you, Wayne, I have to applaud you.
You've made a great point for a five-year-old.
This is my nothing.
No, no, no, not.
No, I'm not being critical of him.
This is the same thing.
To sit here and have to call and use an analogy to persuade people that corporations are people is no different than calling here and saying, no, really, two plus two is four.
And to do a whole show based on that realization.
I mean, this is where we are.
This is where, I should say to where, this regime is taking us.
It just goes.
A liberal makes a claim.
Romney's a felon.
What are we on day five of this?
A liberal makes a claim day five.
Corporations are not people.
Liberals have been asserting this for years.
We're talking about it.
Corporations are not people.
It's absurd.
Liberals make a claim.
It ends up getting talked about because the media perpetuates it.
And the Republicans sit there and deal with the premise.
Oh, yeah, of course.
I'm doing it too.
I guess it has to be done.
We know that there are a bunch of meaningless, brain-dead liberals out there who think that corporations are not people.
But why do we have to orient everything we do around the stupidest among us?
Well, some might say it's because they include the independents and they vote.
And that's why we're having to do it.
And then others might say, well, you're doing a great job.
Then you're just insulting them.
You're trying to get independent.
Yeah, well, what's new about that?
No, no, I'm not ripping Wayne.
Wayne, look at he's got a good idea.
What are unions if they're not people?
What a Sierra Club if it's not.
Of course.
What is this guy if it's not air?
I still can't get over the festival.
Maybe it's just me.
Jack Welch in the Wall Street Journal?
The Wall Street Journal?
He may as well have written a piece explaining that the stock market is where you trade stocks.
Of course, I understand what's being taught out there now.
Blood is blue.
I understand that that's being taught.
Understand that members of my staff actually thought that.
Wayne, are you still there by any chance?
I'm here, Rush.
Do you smoke in your apartment?
I just made that illegal out there.
Do you smoke?
No, I hate to admit, but I am a huge fan of the Arturo Fuente double chateau, and I do smoke indoors, and they can come get me if they want.
God bless you.
God bless.
I love you.
So the Arturo Fuente double chateau you like.
Yeah, the dark one.
The dark one.
Have you ever tried, have you ever tried the Arturo Fuente Don Carlos number two?
I actually have.
It's delicious.
I like the chateau because it has more of a nutmeg, a little bit more.
It's almost like you can taste a little coffee in there.
I don't know if that's even intentional, but it just has a flavor to it that I've never tasted with any other smoke.
You like the hint of nutmeg on the final draft.
You know, I never thought about it before, to be honest.
But when I, a friend of mine gave me one of these and I tried it, and I tasted it instantly.
It took me a while to figure out what it was.
But ever since, I used to smoke Ash and Cabinets, but I switched to the Fuentes.
I've never gone.
They're both good cigars.
Yeah, they're both good.
But the double chateau is a great cigar, too.
The fact is they're not going to come for you, though, Wayne.
You just admitted on the most listened-to show in America that you smoke this stuff in your apartment.
I think it's now illegal in Santa Monica.
It did pass some sort of city council, and the issue is whether you get grandfathered in if you're an existing tenant versus a new tenant.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's what they want you to think.
That's what they want.
You just wait.
Well, I'll tell you, Rush, I don't know which is a bigger crime in Santa Monica, smoking indoors or listening to you, but if they want to come get me, let them find me.
Yeah, that's Wayne.
You know what?
You're an all-right guy.
Wayne, do you have an iPad?
I want to send you an iPad.
I don't have one, actually.
I haven't converted yet.
I'm still hanging in there with the PC, but I'd love to have one.
You're still hanging in there with the...
Well, just because you get an iPad doesn't mean that you give up your computer.
Right.
I'm a little, you know, the switchover and all that is sort of, I've been meaning to do it there, but I just haven't got it yet.
Let's make it happen.
You're going to have to have something to do once they come take you away for either listening to me or smoking your Fuente double chateau.
So don't hang up.
Snerdley will come and get your address.
And we have an engraved iPad back there.
Do we have one left, don't we?
Even, look, I got some back there that are not engraved.
Even if they're not engraved, I'll send you one out there, Wayne, but I think we've got one left that's engraved.
So don't hang up, Wayne.
Get his name and address.
We'll FedEx it out there.
Wayne, I was not putting Wayne down when I belittled the point he was making.
The fact that we have to sit here and draw these analogies.
We do.
Okay, cool.
We got an engraved one.
So awesome.
Who's next?
Scott, Charlotte, North Carolina, the state where the Democrat Convention will be.
Great to have you on the program, sir.
Hello.
Thanks, Rush.
Hey, this is the second time I've called because the president, something that got fired up.
Do you remember when he said about Bush that we had a decade of economic uncertainty?
And I called about that.
And I told you that was the best 10 years of my business.
Let me tell you a little bit of background about me.
I started my business 18 years ago myself.
One truck.
Today, I've got 35 employees, 13 trucks.
And if somebody were to come up to me, the president, you, anybody, and say, hey, you didn't do this.
Somebody else did this.
I'd punch them square in the mouth.
Yeah, well, Obama knows that, but you know what he's counting on?
He's counting on numbers.
If every...
But let me tell you, though, when this guy goes off script, this is how he...
When he goes off teleprompter, this is how he thinks, because this is the way his life is.
No, that's not.
No, my point is he's doing it on purpose because he knows for everybody that started a small business, there are 20 people that didn't.
He's just going numbers.
He's counting on the fact that he can make every employee and every customer of a small business resent you or at least a great percentage of them and vote for him.
You've been unfair.
You had one truck, but you wouldn't have had any trucks if it hadn't been for all those hardworking people building the roads for you to drive them on.
See?
Yeah, well, you know, I will tell you this.
I've got great employees.
I've got a great supervisor.
But you know what?
Last time I checked, they didn't do it for free.
I've got guys that have been working for me.
My supervisor's been with me for almost 12 years, and he's not doing it because I'm paying him poorly.
Understand, look, not taken care of.
This is the reaction that every business owner around the country is having.
Every one of them, they're just outnumbered, folks.
There's this whole business of the roads.
You know, the government didn't build any roads.
The idea that somebody in government says, you know what, someday there's going to be cars, so we better pay for these trails.
And we better pay for these plague, muddy little roads out there where the horse and buggy go by.
We better put concrete down it because, you know, there's going to be cars there.
It's absolutely a crock.
That is why I say, without equivocation, this guy hates or resents America, how it was built.
He doesn't like it.
He has had a chip on his shoulder about this country.
There's no other way to explain this.
This has been a steady assault, folks, on the American way for three and a half years now.
The government takes money from taxpayers and pays companies to pave roads, even if you want to say the government's doing it.
The government does practically nothing other than get in the way with all the regulations and the rules and so forth.
It really is absurd.
I got to take a quick time out here.
Sit tight, and we'll be back with more before you know it.
Don't go away.
Back to the audio soundbites.
Let's number four.
It's Friday night on ABC's world news tonight.
The senior political correspondent, Jonathan Carl, interviewing Romney.
And Jonathan Carl says, the Obama campaign suggested that you may have committed a felony.
Now, I know he's got to ask this.
Carl's not a bad guy.
At least when he was CNN, he wasn't a bad guy.
He may have been totally turned now by ABC.
I don't know.
Romney, a felon.
You know, I learned this early on in my career.
Some nameless, faceless journalist would claim that I said something or that I think something or whatever.
It was totally bogus, off the wall, irresponsible.
And so here came requests for interviews.
What do you say to your critics who say that you are ex and for a while?
I made the mistake because nobody told me, nobody taught me how to learn this stuff on my own.
I'd answer it.
I'd try to change the journalist's mind, thinking it was possible, thinking that's why the journalist was asking me.
Well, how little I knew.
There was no changing the journalist's mind.
The journalist didn't want his mind changed.
The whole thing was about putting me on the spot and making me look defensive.
So, Limbaugh responded vigorously to the claim that he hates one-eyed mules in Alabama.
Must be something to it.
Limbaugh, visibly upset at the charge, obviously upset that somebody has discovered it.
What it was, it was obscene.
So finally, I stopped doing interviews and I stopped responding to these claims and stopped responding to the premise.
Now, Romney did a different situation running for president.
After three days of this stuff, the Romney campaign decided they needed to do television network media blitzes to deal with it.
And I saw they were going to do it and I thought, well, okay, maybe he'll have some success with some viewers, but he's not going to change these journalists' mind and he's not going to get them off the story.
This is not going to end the story.
Well, even if he hadn't done the interviews, that wouldn't have ended it either.
They would have just said Romney refuses to.
It must be something there, whatever.
But this whole technique is never employed against the left.
You know, during the Swiftboat stuff, do you know the media never interviewed the Swiftboat guys?
What do you mean they couldn't?
Well, but the point is they didn't want it.
They didn't care to hear the truth from the Swiftboat guys.
All they did was run stories impugning the Swiftboat guys.
Military members who had served with John Kerry were running ads and doing television appearances talking about the fact that he was making a bunch of stuff up in his military record and he wasn't qualified to lead anybody or be president.
And they didn't like that.
So they did stories trying to impugn and otherwise destroy the Swiftboat guys, but they didn't dare actually go talk to them.
Now, two reasons.
They weren't going to dignify these guys.
They also didn't want these guys telling the truth on their air.
So all they did was try to destroy them on their air.
They're not interested in the truth of anything.
All they care about is forwarding the agenda.
And so the agenda of the day, as it's come from the White House, is Romney's a felon.
Okay, that's the narrative, which is a story.
That's the template.
That's what we're doing.
So the editor calls Carl, okay, we're giving you Romney, and the whole theme is he's a felon.
Just ask him about it, and then we'll deal with it.
So here's what Romney had to say when Jonathan Carl said the Obama campaign suggests you may have committed a felony.
That's ridiculous and disturbing and beneath the dignity of the president and his campaign.
The president needs to take control of these people.
It's Chicago-style politics at its worst.
He ought to disavow it and rein in these people that are running out of control.
He sure as heck ought to say he's sorry for the kinds of attacks that are coming from his team.
Okay, count to five here.
One, two, three, four, five.
Well, because I needed to make sure I didn't lose my composure.
That's why I had to count five.
Governor Romney, it is Obama who is running the operation.
Stephanie Cutter is a puppet.
The words in her mouth have been put there by Obama.
It's not that Obama's people are out of control.
Obama, you might want to say, is the one who's out of control if that's the theme that you want to establish.
But it's Obama running this show.
He ought to disavow it.
You're asking him to disavow himself.
He's not going to disavow himself.
Now, I know Romney's campaigning for the independence.
The theme is that Obama, he's a nice guy.
He's just, he doesn't know what he's doing.
His campaign people are out of control.
His campaign people are a bunch of mean, extreme, really off-the-wall nuts.
And Obama's got to really, he's got to get control of these people.
He's demeaning the office of the president.
He'd been doing that since January of 2009.
And he really ought to say sorry.
He really he sure as heck.
You know, golly gosh, he really ought to sure as heck say sorry for these kind of attacks.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, folks, I'm just going to tell you, if Romney is not careful, this could very well end up with him being perceived by the public as a felon.
You think it's ridiculous?
