Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
I have a name for this new Obama immigration policy.
No.
In case you haven't heard, folks, very quickly, the regime today told the border agents, if you catch young illegals, let them go and grant them work permits.
No more deportation of illegal immigrants.
They are to be given work permits, and they can stay in the country.
So what this is is catch release vote.
Live from the Southern Command in sunny South Florida.
It's open line Friday.
That is exactly what this is.
Catch release.
Vote.
You know what surprises me about this?
He's using up his political ammo pretty early here.
Now I know he's going to go talk to I don't know, La Raza or some some Latino group next week.
But I'm telling you what, if you had any doubt that people are paying attention, forget it.
They obviously are.
The president is in full panic mode.
He's not keeping his powder dry until the fall.
He's not, he's not white because people are paying attention.
And we don't like what we're seeing or what we're getting from Obama.
First the churches, then women, then Bain Capital, then gays, and now this.
They're just throwing everything up against the wall, hoping something's gonna stick out there.
He's getting killed in the media over this speech yesterday.
We've got the audio soundbice coming.
Literally reamed over the uh over the speech.
And I'll tell you what's coming next.
Here we go.
I just went through the the brief overview.
First, war on churches.
Second, create as part of it, a phony Republican war on women and go after Mitt Romney and Bain Capitol.
Then come out for gay marriage, and now don't deport the young illegals, give them work permits.
What's that gonna do to the unemployment number?
Are we gonna count them looking for work or not?
If we don't, the number won't change.
If we do, the number will go up.
What's it gonna do to those of you trying to get work to learn that 800,000 new illegals are in the job market who'll work cheaper than you do?
And what's next is home mortgages and student loans.
Those are the next two things that are gonna fall.
Throw it up against the you watch.
Hi, folks.
Great to have you here.
Open line Friday, Rush Limboss serving humanity.
That's right, simply by showing up.
Telephone number if you want to join us today's 800-282-2882.
And when you do, you get to talk about whatever you want to talk about today.
We do that every Friday.
It doesn't have to be something I'm leading.
Doesn't have to be a topic that I uh uh am talking about.
It could be anything you want.
I don't have to be interested in it.
I don't have to care about it.
I but I should tell you there haven't been very many of those.
I was thinking the other day, how many with this golden opportunity that I provide members of the audience?
There aren't too many people actually call here with things I don't want to talk about.
Could happen, wouldn't matter if it did.
That's the whole point of uh of open line Friday.
Audio soundbites.
I warned everybody of this.
Let's go back to July 30th.
Two years ago almost.
Two years ago on this program, this is what said I. The issue here is the dictatorial nature of this regime and his willingness to do anything to advance his agenda.
They are looking at ways to grant amnesty en masse without legislation if they can't get it done.
And they've been caught, memo's been seen, and now they're oh no, no, no.
No, we would never.
We would never.
They're looking at it, and that's the point.
They're looking at it.
And if they could find a way to do it, they can find a way to do it.
Who knows?
With this bunch, you just don't know.
And you have to assume, based on everything else we've seen them Do that they would do it.
We were talking there about a Washington Times story reported on a memo that said the regime was looking at ways to do what they did today.
Grant amnesty to young illegals.
And I warned everybody back on July 30th of 2010 that they would do it if they could figure out a way.
And the way they figured it out is well, it's what Rubio wants to do.
They're just, hey, this is Marco Rubio's plan is bipartisan.
It's a DREAM Act.
Yeah, except the DREAM Act got defeated.
So Congress doesn't matter.
This is what happens, folks, when you have statist dictatorial types who are in full panic mode.
Who needs Congress?
I think even the forehead once said, back when Clinton was president.
Clinton did stuff like this now and then, nothing this drastic, but he did.
And the forehead said, um, this is really cool.
Sign the paper, law of the land.
Something like that.
It's and I'm just telling you, it's it's catch-release vote.
Use that, folks.
That is the name of the program.
And as I say, they'll forgive student loans at some point if they have to in this campaign, and they might even propose forgiving everybody's mortgage.
Under why they can do this, and they can go against the will of Congress, they can pretty much do whatever they want to do.
Drudge has a headline up, big red letters.
Let me check if it's still up.
I don't have the Drudge page up right now.
Yep.
Who needs Congress?
Obama to grant immunity to young illegals.
He links to a piece from the Hill.com.
That headline says Obama makes election year change in deportation policy.
And that story begins by saying President Obama will sign an executive order today to significantly alter U.S. immigration policy to reduce deportations of illegal immigrants who came to the country at a young age.
According to the AP, Obama's executive order could allow as many as 800,000 immigrants who came here illegally not only to remain in the country without fear of being deported, but to work legally.
So all those articles that we've been seeing about Obama being in trouble with the Hispanic vote must be showing up in the White House polls as well.
Now this it is pure desperation.
But in addition to this being pure desperation, this is what he wants to do and has wanted to do all along anyway.
The timing is what's desperate, not that he's doing it.
And what he's counting on in every one of these proposals, he's counting on the fact that his voters, basically life's takers.
Just gonna say it.
He thinks that his voters, the takers, outnumber the Catholics, the people who don't like the whole notion of same-sex marriage, uh, who are opposed to ever expanding entitlement programs.
He really, and now this he thinks that the uh the black vote and the Hispanic vote and the feminist vote and all these other constituency groups are going to add up to an electoral coalition over the rest of the country, which I'll call for the purposes of this discussion the producers.
That's what he's counting on.
We know that he's written off white working class families.
They've admitted that they've they've written that group off.
They've they've written off the Catholics.
Um it's just it just I don't know how much more brazen does this guy have to be.
Does this help put in context I hope he fails?
Does this, you know, that was so needlessly controversial back on January 16th of 2009, when I said I hope he fails.
The controversy attaching to that was so unnecessary.
Bobby Gindle has an op-ed piece.
I don't have it in front of me, it's in the stack.
I don't know where it ran.
But he was in Wisconsin.
And Bobby Gendal starts out by saying, I saw it.
I was the I was a witness at the scene of the crime.
And he his observation after being in Wisconsin for a while to help Scott Walker was that the Democrat Party has been taken over by the radical left.
Now you know that I love Bobby Gindle.
And you know that I once suggested Bobby Jindal as a legitimate heir of Ronaldus Magnus.
My contention is we all should have known this back in 2007 when Pelosi and Hoyer and the rest of the crowd, Barney Frank took over Congress.
It's been obvious that the Democrat Party's been taken over by the radical left for five years.
And it was building before that.
Now I'm happy when anybody finally sees it and comes to the conclusion.
But folks, and I'm not patting myself on the back, please don't misunderstand me.
I'm frustrated.
All of this, everything Obama has done in three and a half years was totally predictable.
Based on his ideology, based on who he is.
Now I'm, as I say, I'm happy people finally figure it out, but it would have been a lot better people would have admitted it to themselves three and a half years ago instead of waiting around trying to be bipartisan, trying to be open-minded, trying to be fair and all that.
This has been serious from the get-go.
This has been drastically serious in day one.
And now we see the manifestation of uh of all this.
It's just, it's, it's uh uh.
Now, as I say, I'm I'm glad when people come to the obvious conclusion whenever they do, it's just frustrating.
It's been out there for everybody to see that this is where we headed, and this is where we have been headed, and this is who the guy is.
Do I think it'll work?
Snerdley wants to know if I think it'll you mean help his reelection effort?
I think they're throwing it up against the wall.
I think they're I think they're in sheer utter panic.
I think they're spending all their political capital.
Obama the other day said, nobody's paying attention.
People don't pay attention to the conventions to get into the fork.
Everybody's paying attention, and this move of his damn well proves it.
He wants everybody to know it.
I folks, yeah, I've I've call me naive and call me old-fashioned.
I don't think it's gonna work.
I don't think we're outnumbered yet.
And a lot of people, my friends even disagree with me profoundly about that.
It's the same coalitions they've always had.
They've always had the Hispanics, they've always had the blacks.
The reason he's doing that's because he's losing them.
It's panic time.
What do you mean?
You think this is gonna add more unless these people are allowed to vote, and don't don't discount it.
Catch release vote.
I know it's my own term.
But I've I've I told you, I'm surrounded by negativism, and I fight it.
I mean, I can't tell you the number of people in my circle who think it's all over, and I don't.
I don't.
It'd be really great for ratings if I did think it was over.
You know, people that sell subscriptions like Wall Street newsletters will tell you a crisis story, the end of the world will ramp up subscriptions.
Now keep that in mind next time you see some Wall Street analyst touting the end of the world.
That's a it's a technique, it's human nature, it works.
But the same token, I guess it, folks, it's over.
It's it's weird, I don't know, and it might draw even more audience, but I don't think it.
I think they're flailing.
And I'm for some reason I remembered last night David Brooks.
David Brooks, one of smart people.
One of genuinely true smart people.
One of the movers and shakers inside the beltway.
David Brooks, I remember distinctly an image.
We were sitting on his couches.
And I was looking at his pants leg and his perfectly creased pant, Brooks says.
And I'm thinking, A, he's going to be president, and B, he's going to be a very good president.
That might be the best argument ever advanced to illustrate utter vapidness.
On supposedly our that was a serious comment offered by the conservative columnists of the New York Times.
That was a serious comment.
had weight.
And it turns out that may have been the best argument for supporting the guy.
Forget the fact he was a community organizer.
Forget he was a member of the Socialist New Party.
Forget Forget that he was closer than close with the domestic terrorists or two, and that his pastor was a bigoted racist anti-American anti-Semite.
Forget all that.
Those were certainly tempting reasons to turn the U.S. executive branch over to a Marxist, right?
No, we we couldn't do that.
Oh his pants are perfectly creased.
This is a man we can count on.
David Brooks actually said it.
I was thinking about it last night.
Why?
Why wasn't that controversial?
Or why wasn't that laughed out of the room?
The crease in a young radical's pants.
I I looked up some more David Brooks after Obama's speech yesterday.
I don't know why.
I guess I just I like reading what passes for smart inside the beltway.
And David Brooks on in the New York Times on May the 12th, sorry, May 15th of this year, wrote this.
Normally, presidents look weak during periods of economic stagnation, overwhelmed by events.
But Obama has displayed a kind of ESPN masculinity, post-feminist in its values, but also thoroughly traditional in style, hypercompetitive, restrained, not given to self-doubt, rarely self-indulgent.
Administrations are undone by scandal and moments where they look pathetic, but this administration, guarded in all things, has rarely had those moments.
I can't.
This is what passes for smart.
We're in the midst of utter incompetence, combined with dastardly motives.
Anyway, I take a break here.
It's open line Friday as usual.
We try to get more calls in on Friday.
We try, and we'll be back after this first obscene profit timeout and get it all chugging down the tracks.
Don't go away.
And welcome back to Open Borders Friday here on the EIB network Rush Limbaugh.
Executing a signed host duties flawlessly.
Zero mistakes.
Nancy Pelosi just more or less admitted that she likes this whole thing and it's and that it's it's not not kosher.
She just admitted that Obama's doing this to bypass Congress.
She just tweeted, strongly support president's decision to stop deporting Dream Act kids.
Democrat led house past dream in 2010.
GOP still obstructing.
So because the Republicans who run the place are obstructing and didn't pass the DREAM Act.
She's happy that Obama bypass Congress.
Shameless.
So they are.
No, no, no, no.
I am not going to get sidetracked.
When we come back from the break at the bottom of the hour, we're going to go straight to Obama's speech, straight to the economy, straight to the panic in the media about it, folks.
I'm not.
I am never thrown off kilter off course.
I have the trick analogy doesn't work on El Rushbo.
And I'm telling you, this they're in full panic mode.
They're using up this the kind of stuff you wait till the fall to do.
I don't care if he's got a meeting with Hispanic leaders next week.
Here, this Obama back in uh September 2011 is at the White House.
Uh open questions round table.
He got a question from people.
Why aren't you doing stuff for us?
Why aren't you doing illegal immigration?
Why aren't you making it legal?
Why aren't you doing all these?
Here's what he said.
This notion that somehow I can just change the laws unilaterally is just not true.
We've we are doing everything we can administratively.
But the fact of the matter is there are laws on the books that I have to enforce.
And I think there's been uh great disservice done to the cause of getting the Dream Act passed and getting comprehensive immigration passed by perpetrating the notion that somehow by myself I can go and do these things.
It's just not true.
Well, he did.
What is he talking about?
That's last year he did.
He said he just can't do this stuff by himself.
He can't do amnesty by himself.
Well, what's amazing it can happen in an election year?
He just did it.
And we will be right back.
Open line Friday, open borders Friday, Rush Limboa.
Here at 800-282-2882, as the president has just announced his new planned catch-release vote.
Young illegals will not be deported any longer.
However, I want to move on beyond that.
I said pretty much everything there is to be said about that.
That speech yesterday, 54, 57 minutes, whatever it was, was an utter disaster.
And all afternoon yesterday and all last night, state-controlled media was in sheer panic over it.
And somebody finally figured out that Obama was suckered into this by no less than Mitt Romney.
Apparently, folks, remember when Axlrod was in Boston last week, and a bunch of Romney people showed up and heckled and asked questions and basically embarrassed Axlrod.
Apparently, the regime said, you don't do that.
That's what we do to you, but you don't do that to us.
It was Romney's speech yesterday that was scheduled first.
It was Obama who then scheduled his speech after, and actually Cylindra's part of the stupid.
Apparently, the regime and Obama personally was livid that Romney went out to Cylindra and stood in front of the boarded up headquarters and all the dilapidated signage and did an appearance to illustrate the bankrupt nature of Obama's green policies initiative.
That bugged him.
So this yesterday in Ohio, this was Obama getting even.
And the press, they knew this, didn't report it that way, but they knew that, and they were all excited about it.
And so they built this thing up.
They built this Obama speech up.
It was going to be a major reset.
You heard it.
You know what all about.
They really lifted those expectations.
And they thought it was a slam dunk because Obama gives a speech better than anybody.
Nobody's even close.
Nobody can hold a candle to Barack Obama.
This guy, he's the best speech maker.
He's the best president.
He's the smartest guy we ever had.
They had every hope and dream they've ever had channeled into this speech.
And it was a bomb.
It was a dud.
You know what the Romney team did?
After Romney's speech, the Romney bus went to the site, the Cuyahoga Community College, where Obama was, and the bus drove around the place honking and basically practical joke, honking and uh interrupting.
Not the speech, the speech going on inside.
But as people were lined up to get into Obama's speech, Romney's bus drove around the place a couple of times and was taunting everybody.
And this ticked them off.
Mitt Romney.
I don't.
The Republican, Mitt Romney, I don't know if Romney was in the bus, but the Romney campaign bus, there's probably a bunch of Romney buses.
But a Romney bus went to where Obama was speaking while people were lined up, circled the place twice, I'm told, and honked horns and basically taunted the people lined up to get into Obama's speech.
the speech comes and McCain has not demanded an apology.
Jeb Bush has not decried partisanship.
But I'm telling you, uh Obama were discombobulated.
And so this speech yesterday was basically to pay Romney back for what he did to Exelrod in Boston and going out the cylinder.
So they said they had built this thing up, and it was just a disaster.
And these press people, they couldn't hide it.
They couldn't lie about it.
It was that bad.
Jonathan Alt.
Worst speech I've ever heard him give.
They started coming up with theories that they thought maybe could explain it, and they gave them all up, and they had to conclude that it was an utter absolute disaster.
Now the RNC has put together an internet ad three minutes long.
I have a one-minute limit here on Soundbite.
I'll start it and stop it.
What they did, the RNC took elements of Obama's speech yesterday, and went back to previous Obama speeches and took identical phrases and sentences and sandwiched them back together, back to back.
To illustrate it's tired, it's old, it's worn out, it's the same old teleprompter, it's nothing new.
Stale old rotten, just typically antiquated.
So I have the audio of this, and when you hear the same things, when you hear Obama say the same thing twice, understand that once was in Cleveland yesterday, the other one was in previous speeches this year, the year before, and the year before that.
And the video version, I think that they have uh graphics that indicate the date where Obama first said it.
I haven't heard it yet.
I've just read about it.
I haven't seen it yet, because I don't watch a whole lot of videos on the computer.
So I'm gonna be listening to this for the first time.
You may have seen it.
It's three minutes.
I'll start stop it as we go.
I hope it translates to radio.
It's it.
You realize most hosts would not take this risk.
Most hosts would preview it first.
Make sure it works for radio.
And if it doesn't, they wouldn't use it.
IL Rushbow am not bound by such conventions because I can make it work even if it doesn't.
So let's listen to it.
Let's see what it sounds like.
I believe this is a make or break moment for the middle class.
So this is a make or break moment for America's middle class.
Over the last few decades.
Over the last few decades, the income of the top 1% has grown by more than 275%.
Grew by more than 275%.
To an average of 1.3 million dollars a year.
To an average of 1.3 million dollars a year.
But I also share the belief of our first Republican president.
Of our first Republican president.
Abraham Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln.
A belief that through government.
Through government, we should do together.
We should do together what we cannot do as well for ourselves.
What we cannot do as well for ourselves.
As much as we might associate the GI Bill with Franklin Roosevelt.
As much as we might associate the GI Bill with Franklin Roosevelt.
Or Medicare with Lyndon Johnson.
Medicare with Lyndon Johnson.
It was a Republic, Lincoln.
It was a Republican, Lincoln.
Who launched the Transcontinental Railroad.
Who launched the Transcontinental Railroad?
National Academy of Sciences.
The National Academy of Sciences.
Land grant colleges.
Land grant colleges.
It was Eisenhower who launched the interstate highway system.
It was a Republican Eisenhower who launched the interstate highway system.
Investment in scientific research.
And a new era of scientific research.
It was Richard Nixon who created the environmental protection agency.
It was Nixon who created the environmental protection agency.
Ronald Reagan, who worked with Democrats to save Social Security.
Reagan, who worked with Democrats to save Social Security.
Nearly 10 million college students would see their financial aid cut by an average of more than 1,000 dollars each.
10 million college students would lose an average of a thousand dollars each on financial aid.
Over 200,000 children would lose Their chance to get an early education in the Head Start program.
200,000 children would lose the chance to get an early education in the Head Start program.
There would be 1,600 fewer medical grants.
There would be 1500.
We're not through.
We probably have another minute of this.
It's the RNC doing this.
And McCain hadn't apologized for this ad either.
But these are, you can hear.
Identical phrases from previous speeches repeated yesterday.
And it's one of the reasons why the drive-bys were so disappointed.
They've heard it all before.
It's all a bunch of it's a crock.
All these stats, all these assertions are BS.
They know it.
They've been covering for it, but it was just, it was it was an utter disaster.
And I'll tell you something else.
Well, what this doesn't include the stuff we blame Bush, but but here's the thing.
What this highlights is the incompetence of the campaign.
You go back to 2008.
They basically had one speech, and it was lower the sea level speech.
It was this hope and change.
And that's what they've got now.
They've got one speech that they recycle and have a few little differences from place to place.
Here, let's let's listen to the rest of this.
Fewer medical research grants for things like Alzheimer's and cancer and apes for things like Alzheimer's and cancer and AIDS.
4,000 fewer scientific research grants.
4,000 fewer scientific research grants.
Eliminating support for 48,000 researchers, students, and teachers.
Eliminating support for 48,000 researchers, students, and teachers.
But prosperity sure didn't trickle down.
But prosperity never trickled down.
We had the slowest job growth in half a century.
We had the slowest job growth in half a century.
And the typical American family actually saw their incomes fall.
The typical family saw their incomes fall.
The Republican National Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising.
And at the end of it, there's a little graphic says good grief.
Good grief.
And this ad, this ad is just the latest proof that Obama's a one trick teleprompter.
Let's take a brief time out.
We'll come back.
Listen to some of the media.
Sad, disappointed, worried when we come back.
Don't go away.
My friends, the drive by media is in a state of shock.
They're depressed and disappointed.
They're fearful for the future.
Barack Hussein Obama cannot even please them with speeches anymore.
Do you realize what that does to them?
The speech.
Speeches, that's where he shows how smart he is.
His ability to talk.
It counts for so much.
And I know that it does.
The greater your vocabulary, the um, and the greater your ability to use it, for example, the greater the odds are you'll convince people that you are intelligent and equated.
No matter what you say, how you say it, the right pauses, inflections, you have the correct intonations and onomatopoe, uh, and patterns of the elite Northeast.
It's all it takes.
No matter what you say.
It's a David Brooks.
I've never seen a sharper crease in a pant.
That man's going to be president.
Oh, it's brilliant.
What powers of observation Brooks must have.
Doesn't matter what you say.
You have the uh proper uh pauses where you are thinking on your feet.
Mind racing so fast, and uh the eyebrows raised occasionally now and then, and you look around.
That gave morgasms.
And now, after this thing yesterday, not even Obama's speeches.
Please them.
Jonathan Alter on MSNBC says a newsweek editor, he said it was one of the least successful speeches I've seen Obama give in several years.
It was long winded.
He had a good argument to make.
The beginning of the speech he seemed to be making a fairly compelling way, but he lost the thread.
It was way too long.
He lost the audience for the end.
Let's listen to a montage.
Who do we have?
We got Jessica Yellen of uh CNN, Jonathan Walters in here, Christia Freeland of Reuters, Fox Business Lou Dobbs, Juilliams, Geraldo, Gloria Borger, Joe Klein of Time, and Bob Beckle.
You know what Beckle said?
Beckle said to Obama, would you lose the British lady in the Mink?
Would you Anna Winter?
Would you lose the British babe with the Mink?
That was Beckel's advice to Obama.
Last night was the big dinner party at Sarah Jessica.
Do you know what happened there?
It is reported in the New York Post today that Anna Winter basically kicked Sarah Jessica Parker and her kids out of the house or up to the second floor and totally redecorated the place.
Have you ever heard of a term called shabby chicken?
That is how the New York Post describes Sarah Jessica Parker's house.
The decor is shabby chic.
I've never heard it either.
I don't know what it is.
But they had it's in the post.
Apparently, people are over there windexing doorknobs.
This place is made out to be an absolute pig sty that Anna Winter had to go with.
No, Don, I'm telling you that it that's how it's read or written.
There are people cleaning the doorknobs, washing the windows, taking the piano upstairs, moving furniture out, moving furniture in.
Anna Winter was supposedly supervising it.
She denied.
No, I just happened to be there when this was happening.
Shabby chic.
This is what she Sarah Jessica Parker, who lives and dies by PR, buzz, public image.
What's she done since Sex in a City?
Nothing.
What's she done?
She lives.
I mean, these are people made and broken by the media.
And in the New York Post today, which loves Sarah Jessica Parker.
I mean, I they they love all these people.
They they want access.
Her place is described as shabby chic and so filthy that Anna Winter had to go over there, move old furniture out, move new stuff in that wasn't shabby chic.
The doorknobs are so filthy had to clean those things off.
Uh I'm not kidding you.
I'll get it.
No, I can't get it.
My browser freezes with the post website.
I can't.
I had to read it on my iPad, but I can't print the post unless you print from the iPad, so I'd have to mail myself a link, which would then open on my browser, which I can't print it out from the post.
I can't, I can't get it.
Somebody will get it for it.
Yeah, it's it's uh uh uh it's an anomaly.
It's uh the the post has got one of the screwballest websites that's ever been invented.
It's not my computer's problem.
No, I've not lost my place.
Here's the media montage.
This is the second time in the last week and a half he's gone out to talk about the economy without really offering something new.
This honestly was one of the least successful speeches I've seen Barack Obama give.
I don't think the president in particular did as good a job as he's gonna have to do to be reelected.
I don't see what was framed.
I don't see why he bothered.
The legitimate criticism here is no new ideas.
You can't have a speech in a place like Cleveland and not have specifics on your plan.
The president who whines about what a terrible situation he's in and what was me.
I don't think this kind of speech does much.
The president has failed profoundly in his ability to explain to them what he's done.
A couple of weeks you probably wish he could forget.
Yeah, it was last week that was bad.
Now this week's tacton too, it's a couple weeks.
That was Bob Beckle.
Do you hear what Geraldo said?
You can't have a speech at a place like Cleveland and and uh and not have specifics.
What could you go to Shaker Heights and have specifics?
I mean, what is it about Cleveland that you have to have specifics?
You can't go to a place like Cleveland and not have specifics.
Maybe you go to LA and not have specifics or San Francisco.
But you can't go to a place like Cleveland.
Anyway, you hear, they're panicked.
No new ideas.
No new idea.
Folks, there aren't any.
You guys are even making the mistake of looking at him in the wrong lens.
