Hey, I just found out that my bust is on display in the Capitol Rotunda in Jefferson City.
Well, there was some talk that the governor's office didn't like the idea that I was inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians last week in Jefferson City, Missouri.
It might change the whole process, right?
And a speaker of the House, no matter what party, determines the inductees.
Change that to some commission, and there was some talk that my bust would not be displayed in the rotunda.
It is.
It is on display.
Despite the best efforts of the seven women who showed up in Washington to protest me, it is.
It's on the website.
If you can see the bust is pictured at rushlimbaugh.com.
But they actually, 50,000 people.
They actually, the NAGs actually tried to say 50,000 people showed up at WMAL, but news cameras were there, seven people.
Great to have you back, Rush Limbaugh, here in Los Angeles.
Our telephone number, if you want to be on the program 800-282-2882 and the email address, El Rushpo at EIBnet.com.
Even now, after almost 24 years of doing this particular show and another three and a half years of the show in Sacramento before it went national, 27 and a half years, something like that, I am still surprised sometimes over what ignites the audience.
This organic food stuff has lit up my email.
Snurdley even found a couple calls about it.
I'm just going to tell you what's going to happen because I don't tell you 90% of the food news that I read, but there's a revolution taking place out there.
Farmers are trying to sell directly to customers.
This whole organic food, I know what it is.
It's in reaction to processed food, which supposedly is the reason for the obesity epidemic.
And everybody's caught up, or not everybody, I don't really care about it.
A lot of people caught up in doing whatever they think necessary to be the healthiest that they can be.
But I'm going to tell you what's going to happen.
This is as predictable as the sun coming up in the morning and setting in the evening.
All these organic food people are eventually going to become conservatives.
Because what's happening now?
Government is figuring out that these organic food places exist and that they're outside the regulatory process.
And they're outside the tax and fee structure.
And that cannot stand.
So what's going to happen is the cities where these people operate and the state they operate and then the feds are going to get involved and they're going to start regulating this stuff eventually.
They're going to regulate what your free-range chicken is given to eat.
They're going to regulate every aspect just like they do everything else.
And they're going to come down hard on all of this so-called organic food, like raw milk, your free-range chicken running in the backyard that you shoot and kill or whatever, then take to some whole food market or whatever they're called.
I don't know, some organic food market.
Farms that are selling their produce and meats directly to customers.
What's going to be all these people with their little utopias where they think they're engaging in healthful living and production and so forth, the heavy hand of government is going to find them.
And under the auspices of regulating for safety and health, these people are going to find out exactly what oppressive government is.
I'm talking about the organic crowd.
It's going to happen.
It may not be immediate, but it will.
North Carolina teacher, this dovetails was something we were talking about in the first hour about the difference between liberals and conservatives.
And by the way, I probably, I don't know that right now is the time, but I ought to spend some time explaining in some detail why I believe that in almost every cultural, social, event, setting, news, or what have you, there is a left and right aspect to it.
I know people who are interested in politics only around elections, for the most part, are apolitical.
They don't want to hear it.
They want to hear about it.
They want to have to think about things being political.
It turns them off.
But it's crucial to understanding people and their motivations and the way they interact with you.
It's crucial to understand this.
Now, for those of you that poo-poo it, I just, I want to point to myself on my own track record.
Over these 23 and a half years, how many things have I predicted?
For example, when the Sierra Club back in 1997 made a target out of SUVs and large cars, and I said, the first day that prediction was made, I warned you that the SUV was going to become in a few short years demonized.
You were going to be made to feel guilty if you had what I can't tell you the number of people who called here and laughed at me or chided me for seeing politics and everything.
A guy called the SUV the Joe Camill of cars.
Remember, Joe Campbell was the cartoon figure that Camill cigarettes used to try to sell the product to young people and make it appear cool.
Joe Campbell was this cool guy.
I said, the SUV is going to become the same.
They're going to abolish it, wipe it out or whatever.
And people laughed and poo-pooed.
And then it wasn't very long before it came true.
Because how did you know people?
Because I know the Sierra Club is a bunch of liberals.
That's how I know.
And if they decide that they don't want to drive SUVs, or if they decide that SUVs pollute more than they should, then they're going to try to make sure nobody drives one.
It's just who they are.
And it matters, folks.
It matters.
It's going to help you make political decisions.
It's going to help you decide who to vote for.
If, for example, more people understood this, Obama would have never been elected.
If more people understood it, there wouldn't have been people ahead of cow when I said, I hope he fails.
I said, I hope he fails because I knew exactly what his policies were going to be because he's a liberal.
I didn't want America to fail.
Quite the opposite.
I want America to triumph.
This guy, I knew, was going to do exactly what, well, I knew the results of his policies would be exactly what they are.
The shrinking of the private sector, more people out of work, opportunities for economic prosperity on the way.
And I knew it.
I cringed, all because I know liberals.
But most people didn't want to look at Obama that way.
They couldn't avoid comparing him to Bush.
And they'd been taught to hate Bush.
The media has dumped on Bush for eight years and intensely the last seven years after the Iraq war.
So all Obama had to come out and do was sound smart.
And all he had to do was come out and lie and say that there is no left and right.
There is no red and blue state.
We're just all one people.
Oh, yeah, that's what I want, but that's impossible.
It's never been.
It's never going to be.
He was lying.
Liberals, this is undeniable truth.
Number one, in this scenario, liberals cannot tell the truth about what they believe.
They would never win elections other than in a few, maybe three or four places in this country.
They would never win, and certainly not national elections.
And so it's been a question mine.
So, yeah, when I see a story, does organic food turn people into jerk?
Yeah, there's no question.
Liberals are jerks.
Well, that's a big blanket statement.
Well, folks, what do you call people who want to, why is it any of Barack Obama's business what the Catholic Church does?
Constitutionally, for example, it's none of his business.
And yet what's he doing?
He's demanding that the Catholic, in violation of the Constitution, he's demanding the Catholic Church abandon its religious beliefs and implement his.
Now, he has the power and the force of the presidency behind him.
He can do this.
But it's the fact that he's a liberal or worse, a socialist one that makes him want to do it.
And that's why all this talk of compromise, when liberals talk about compromise, they don't mean it.
They don't want to take some of our ideas and mix with theirs and have a happy-go-lucky meeting of the minds.
That's not what compromise is to them.
Compromise to them is us agreeing with them.
They don't mind their own business.
They don't want to accept anything that we happen to believe.
Real died-in the wool liberals don't.
There's a YouTube video, a YouTube video that was uploaded, I guess it was last Monday afternoon.
And it shows a school teacher from the Rowan-Salisbury School District in North Carolina informing a student that failing to be respectful of Obama is a criminal offense.
Breitbart News has uncovered that the student is a has-screw junior and that the teacher is named Tanya Dixon-Neely.
The video shows a classroom discussion about the Washington Post hit piece about Mitt Romney bullying a kid some five years ago.
And one student says, well, didn't Obama bully someone, though?
And the teacher says, not to my knowledge.
Student then cites the fact that Obama, in dreams from my father, his own book, admits to shoving a little girl.
And the teacher started screaming, stop, no, there's no comparison.
Romney's running for president.
Obama is the president.
The student responds that both of them are just guys.
They're just a couple of men.
And the teacher literally yells that Obama is due the respect that every other president is due.
Listen, let me tell you something.
She said, you will not disrespect the president of the United States in this classroom.
And she yells over the student repeatedly.
She yells at him that it's disrespectful for him to even debate about Romney and Obama.
The student says he can say whatever he wants.
The teacher says, not about Obama, you won't.
The teacher then tells the student wrongly that it is a criminal offense to say bad things about a president.
Do you realize that people were arrested for saying things bad about Bush?
Do you realize you're not supposed to slander the president?
The student says that it would violate the First Amendment rights to jail somebody for such sentiments.
You'd have to say some pretty screwed up crap about him to be arrested, says the student.
They can't take away your right to have your opinion.
They can't take that away unless you threaten the president.
The student knows more than the teacher.
And then, well, who knows what the teacher really knows?
The teacher might know that she's just full of BS here, but is simply espousing her view that she maybe loves Obama so much that she respects Obama so much that not in her classroom are you going to criticize Obama.
And it's criminal to do some.
She might think that it is.
If I can read on a tech blog in the year 2012, everybody knows meat kills us.
My friends, anything's possible in terms of education, what today's teachers have been taught, and what they are imparting.
The student ought to be teaching this class.
The student knows more about, the junior in high school knows more about things, knows more about the Constitution than his teacher does.
Now, I ask you, is the teacher a liberal?
Is the teacher nonpartisan?
Is the teacher apolitical?
No way.
This teacher is a full-fledged leftist.
There's no question about it.
And sounds very much like a jerk to boot.
Now, the school district here classified the exchange, which is, it's just another case of a pro-Obama teacher from the shovel-ready, trying to shovel her views down some student throats.
The school district says this is just a learning experience.
It's just a teachable moment.
Now, Breitbart News, which published the story in the first place, has received information that the YouTube video was shot by a friend of the bullied student.
The student had asked his friend to record the discussion to prove to his parents what he'd been trying to tell them for some time about this teacher.
The teacher in this video apparently has a long history of pushing a liberal agenda by shouting down students.
She's very intolerant of other points of view that she doesn't share.
The atmosphere at this school is not very conducive to opposing views, just like it isn't anywhere where liberals are involved.
You have to wonder, is this teacher right?
How many other teachers have been doing stuff like this the past few years?
I wonder how many union bosses have said things like this the last few years.
Intolerance is liberalism.
They run around and claim that they're the most tolerant, the most open-minded, the most compassionate, and none of it's true.
It's all the exact opposite.
Barack Obama is the epitome of intolerance.
Catholic Church, you don't want to pass out.
Screw you.
You're going to pass out birth control pills.
You're going to make abortions available because I'm going to make you.
Obama's tolerant?
Wrong.
Obama is intolerant.
You can't have a one-size-fits-all government without intolerance.
You cannot have freedom of choice when the federal government dictates details of your life right down to what you eat, what you can drive, the insurance policy that you will buy.
Liberals demand conformity to what they believe.
They demand it.
They are not tolerant of anything else.
They want to shut down anything they, like I say, if a liberal doesn't believe in God, then get rid of any evidence of other people's belief.
Nativity scene, Christmas tree, whatever to get rid of it.
You and I are not that way.
If we don't believe in something or want to eat something, we just don't believe it or buy it.
What you do is your own business.
Conservatism respects the individual.
And by definition, conservatism is what's tolerant.
You and I are who is tolerant.
It has to be if political and economic freedoms are respected and encouraged.
We have to be tolerant.
Freedom is based on tolerance.
Soft tyranny based on compliance.
Now, this bully, public teacher in North Carolina.
Actually, the story is about a courageous student.
The story is about a courageous, informed student who stood up to a bully and was smart enough to get it all on tape.
And look who comes out the winner here: a student outs a bully who happens to work for the government, and it's now national news.
This kid's got to be a rush baby.
The parents have to be rushed.
I wouldn't, no, no, I don't know if they'll ever admit it, but I just, this has to be.
Notre Dame.
Notre Dame University suing the regime over this HHS rule.
Details after this so when he gets back, don't go away.
See, I thought the left wanted to get rid of bullying in the schools.
I know, but it made a movie about it.
And yet, we find out teachers.
Well, a teacher in this case in North Carolina, a huge bully.
All right, want to go to the phones.
What line are we starting on?
Where are we going first?
Harma, Ohio.
Anthony, you're up first.
Great to have you with us on the program, sir.
Hello.
Hello, Rush.
Hi.
I'm a libertarian, Tea Party, everything else.
It is a pleasure to talk to you, informing us, et cetera, et cetera.
But I have some disagreement.
You're going after the what you call the food fatties and organic people.
You're making kind of a mistake there.
Well, I'm not.
I'm reporting the Pew Research Center found out.
Okay.
No, no, today's health.
I'm sorry, today's health.
It's an MSNB.
A bunch of people, university people, found that organic food people are jerks.
The question is, which came first, the jerk or the organic food?
The question is: did the organic food make the jerk or was the person the jerk first?
Okay.
Let me first explain something.
I'm on what they call the paleo diet, like that guy from South or North Carolina was on that got attacked.
I've been on it for several years.
I got off insulin, all kinds of meds used in that diet.
And I spent the last five years.
Matter of fact, that gentleman may have got the idea of the paleo diet from me because I write on a lot of different blogs about different things.
I'm 67 years old.
I've been on that diet for many years.
I study diets.
What it's the caveman diet, right?
I mean, you do your own hunting and gathering and stuff.
You're out there amongst the wildlife and you wipe them out and you take them home and eat them.
I live in a city.
I live in a liberal county that's surrounded by liberals.
Oh, Lord.
No, I don't do my own hunting and gathering.
But people have to understand that a lot of the stuff that is not organic is sprayed with a lot of poisons, a lot of bad stuff.
Yeah, I know.
That's what I eat.
These GMO foods, you know, the genetically modified stuff.
That's what I eat.
I would stay away from that, but I'm a libertarian.
You put in your body what you want to put in it.
See, this is a difference.
You are trying to tell everybody else how they ought to eat now because of your paleo diet.
That's the, and you're a libertarian.
You're way outside the bounds of libertarianism.
You couldn't be further from a libertarian.
Meeting and surpassing all audience expectations every day, Rush Limbaugh, in Los Angeles, behind the golden EIB microphone.
Some of the most influential Catholic institutions in the country filed suit in federal district court today against the so-called contraception mandate.
It's one of the biggest coordinated legal challenges to the rule to date, claiming their fundamental rights hang in the balance, quote unquote.
A total of 43 plaintiffs filed a dozen separate lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the requirement in Obamacare.
Among the organizations filing, Notre Dame University, the Archdiocese of New York, the Catholic University of America, 43 plaintiffs, all objecting to an encroachment on their constitutional religious liberty and freedom.
This is Obama mandating that all of these places engage in policies antithetical to what they believe in regarding contraception, birth control, abortion, what have you.
And again, while some people might think that this is simply Obama trying to protect the health of a grieved bunch of women, women being discriminated against, war on women and so forth, what's really going on is that you have a died-in-the-wool socialist who is demanding that everybody live their life according to what he believes.
This is the antithesis of freedom.
He's not content to personally implement his own beliefs in his own life with his own wife and his own daughters.
Nope.
He's got the mandated on everybody.
Mandate is in his health care bill.
It's filled with mandates.
It's filled with requirements.
It's filled with fines or you go to jail in an American health care legislation or piece of legislation.
And again, I'm telling you, this is all understandable if you understand left versus right, if you understand freedom versus oppression, if you understand conservatism versus liberalism, if you understand free markets as opposed to statism.
That's really what we're up against, what this election is about.
And that's why I'm convinced Obama could lose this in a landslide.
Because this country, I don't believe, even though, and this is a frightening number, even though there are 88 million Americans adults who are not working and they are eating, some people are afraid of that statistic that it argues that there are a lot of people perfectly fine to do nothing and have the government pay them.
And they'll be willing to vote, the man, the party, the woman, whoever will continue that.
But I don't believe a majority of those 88 million want to just throw their lives away.
Some do, no question.
But I don't think we've gotten there yet.
I think that's why the Tea Party uprising, that's why we're seeing election results since the 2010 midterm, 2010 midterms.
Here's another interesting little stat.
The New York Post ran this piece yesterday.
Where have all the workers gone?
The most recent take from the Bureau of Labor Statistics says that the participation rate of all U.S. workers is 63.6% of the population.
That is the lowest percentage of Americans working since 1981, folks.
The labor force participation rate, more people have left the workforce now, giving us a participation rate not seen since 1981.
And this low participation number directly contributing to the lowering of the unemployment rate since far fewer people are actively searching for work.
They're not counted.
Therefore, the unemployment rate is lower, not because new jobs are being created, because fewer people are seeking them.
But that's not what this story is about.
What this story is about is that one of the largest demographics leaving the workforce is adult women.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics says that the rate of female labor participation over the last year has been a statistically significant drop from 58.3% in April of last year to 57.6% this April.
324,000 women leaving the workforce in March and April, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The rate peaked in April of 2000.
In the last 12 months, 1.3 million jobs have been created, 90% of those going to men.
Women have gained just 149,000 jobs.
And the story is there's one possible explanation for this.
John Challenger, the CEO of Challenger Gray and Christmas, Christmas Job Placement Agency, said that there may be some women who are saying, I don't have to work.
I'm not compelled to work in quite the same way that I was during the recession.
These are women who picked up the slack for families or couples during the recession to bring in some income.
But now that the husband's gone back to work, they have more freedom to leave the workforce.
That's not what's happening.
Husbands going back to work?
Where's that happening?
Where are all these husbands going back to work?
That's not why women are leaving the workforce.
Study found that the career behaviors of college-educated women correlate directly to their husbands' income.
Oh, no.
You know what that means?
College-educated women, when their husband's income reaches a certain level, decide to leave the job market.
This is not going to please the NAGs.
This is exactly opposite what feminism taught.
Women are not supposed to base their decisions on men, marriage, relationships, anything of the sort.
College-educated women leaving the workforce.
The percentage of working women with high-earning husbands had been on decline for some time before the recession.
According to a soon-to-be-released study by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, study found the career behaviors of college-educated women correlate directly to their husbands' income.
Now, isn't it interesting?
And I've made this point before, that women can just say, okay, to heck with it, not going to work anymore.
When their husband's income reaches a certain level, most men don't have that kind of flexibility.
Don't have that kind of, in fact, and if they try, then their resumes are scarred forever.
Most men don't want that, in fact.
But this headline of this story, women's work has come undone as record numbers exit the market.
And the implication of this story is they're exiting because they don't have to be there anymore.
And the only reason they were working in the first place was money.
They were only out there to earn a supplemental income.
Now that that's not necessary, the women are out of there.
What are they doing?
Well, they're having babies.
This is one thing that happens.
They have babies.
And they decide after the babies, you know what?
I want to stay home.
I want to be a mother.
I want to raise.
And the nags have a, that just ruins their day.
That's the last thing.
That's why there's daycare.
You're not supposed to stay at home after giving birth.
You're supposed to go back to work as soon as you can't take all the maternity leave you can get.
Then go back to work and farm the kid out to daycare and so forth.
This is how you serve the sisterhood and so forth.
It's just a shame.
It's just not working out for them in so many different ways.
Who's next?
Nancy Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
Great to have you on the EIB Network.
Hi.
Hi, Rush.
How are you?
Very well.
Thank you.
Oh, my gosh.
You are just my hero.
Well, I appreciate that.
But anyways, I'm just calling because you're talking about the organic food, and I'm feeling like it's like the Prius.
Just because you eat organic food or because you drive a Prius does not make you a better person than me.
Well, they think it does.
They think it makes them superior.
Oh, exactly.
And that's the problem.
Like those ribbons that you wear, the colored ribbons.
The message is, I'm wearing this ribbon.
I care more than you do.
I'm a better person.
And I'm a better person.
Right, exactly.
Exactly.
And I just ate a steak last night and I cleaned my house with harsh chemicals today, but it's clean.
I love it.
Absolutely.
Exactly.
The stuff that you've always used, you're still using it.
Guess what?
Does the trick?
But you use what they want.
You use, what is it, the top-loading washer now doesn't work?
Or is it the front loader?
It's the front loader that got all moldy and stuff.
And then the new detergent doesn't get dishes clean.
Now, as we're speaking.
Right.
Right.
Exactly.
And I'm using bleach.
You are.
And I had my steak and I had it rare.
And I loved it.
Sound like a real American babe to me.
Have you signed up for Rush Babes of America Facebook page if you have?
No, I've got to go there.
You should.
You should.
I definitely will.
Well, it's just like their detergent.
Their new dishwashing doesn't work.
You have to wash the dishes by hand, but the environment's safe.
Your dishwasher's not destroying the planet if you use the liberals' new detergent, but it also doesn't clean your dishes.
Cleaners.
It's like, well, but my bathroom's not clean.
So what is it?
Yeah.
Oh, no.
Give me the bleach.
Give me the Tilex.
And I love it.
Well, good.
Well, I'm glad you called.
You made my day.
I appreciate it.
Have a great day yourself.
That doesn't make you a better person.
Okay, back after this, folks.
Don't go away.
Sit tight.
Half my brain tied behind my back just to make it fair.
You know, I'm sitting here thinking more about the ideology of intolerance, the classic liberal, that intolerant teacher in North Carolina, who was a bully, telling her student that it was criminal to criticize Obama.
You know, when you get right down to it, maybe one of the best ways to explain liberalism to the uninitiated is to simply say that it is intolerant.
It's a philosophy of no.
It's a philosophy of domination and no.
And it's not at all what people think it is.
It's not open-mindedness.
It's not tolerance.
It's not good intentions.
It's not sweetness and light and love and all that.
It's a philosophy of no.
It is intolerant.
Socialism, fascism, communism, all forms of liberalism dictate behavior.
You must conform.
Individuals, private businesses, you must conform to what they say.
And if you don't, they'll pass laws and regulations that force you to.
And in order to have uniformity, there must be an enforcement mechanism because people are not the same.
People don't want the same things.
They don't believe the same things.
But if you are going to have uniformity, which is what liberalism, because that's equality.
To them, everybody being the same.
Outcomes especially being the same.
Nobody richer than anybody else.
If you were to have that, you must have an enforcement mechanism that shuts down what?
Creativity, choice, and innovation.
You have to shut down all the things that differentiate people.
And in a free society, the things that differentiate people are creativity, choice, and innovation.
And that has to be shut down.
That is why, folks, an ever-expanding government is job one for liberals.
That whatever expands government, whatever makes it bigger, global warming, feminism, amnesty for illegal, whatever, whatever needs more regulation, whatever needs more control, for the common good.
Uniformity.
It's all for the common good, they say.
But anything that grows the government, that's job number one for liberals.
Government is the enforcement mechanism.
Government is the practical manifestation of the ideology of no.
Government is where the intolerance is.
Government is the all-powerful engine that prevents innovation and choice and creativity.
Look at that slideshow that Obama did.
Julia.
That's how you remake millions of individuals in 50 states into a faceless cartoon.
You have a cartoon for your own re-election and you come up with a fictional character, Julia, the average American woman who turns to government at every stage of her life when she needs or wants something.
Not a husband, not a family, not a church, but to the government.
The government makes her birth possible.
The government makes her prenatal care possible.
The government makes her garden possible.
Except it's not hers.
It's a community garden.
And so now you have Obama dictating a uniform health insurance policy that has to be purchased by all Americans.
Has to be.
It's enforced by a fine.
It says no to individual needs and wants.
If you don't want health insurance, doesn't matter.
You have to buy it.
If you don't buy it, there is a fine.
A moratorium on drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico.
That is the government saying no.
And the enforcement mechanism is the government.
No to jobs.
No to cheap energy.
Regulations are variations on the saying, just say no theme.
Regulations is how liberals just say no.
Regulations is how they enforce, or how they enforce, their own intolerance.
Regulations and laws are how they enforce their mandated behavioral codes.
Obama has said no to any budgets.
The Democrat Party said no to budgets.
He has said no to the Keystone Pipeline.
Obama has said no to reforming entitlements.
He has said no to doing anything about runaway debt.
It's all shut up and sit down, America.
Do as I say, and there won't be any trouble.
And that's what liberalism is.
It all stems from a mindset of intolerance.
Don't you criticize Obama?
That's criminal.
You can't criticize a sitting president.
That's sedition.
You can't do it.
And the students are, this is my freedom of speech.
First Amendment.
There isn't one in here.
So liberalism is a mindset of total control.
That's why our schools now favor indoctrination over education.
See, freedom of thought.
And we see example after example, be it what you bring from lunch, for lunch from home, it's not even tolerable.
What you bring from lunch or from home for lunch, a federal agent can regulate.
Uniformity is the goal.
That's liberalism, where the people reflect and represent the views of the state, not their own.
Am I surprised about Facebook?
You mean being below the opening price?
No, I'm not surprised that the Facebook stock price is below the open.
