Time Text
Well, a new uh opinion audit is in from our opinion auditing firm in Sacramento, California.
It's the Sullivan Group.
And no change.
It's been this way for months now.
Your host, America's real anchor man, truth detector, Dr. Democracy.
Now documented to be almost always right ninety-nine point six percent of the time.
No change.
And as I say, to move that to ninety-nine point seven percent, I'm gonna have to be right a hundred percent of the time for months.
You get that close to perfection.
And it becomes more and more statistically difficult to move that meter.
Uh, but it represents a challenge.
So no change, documented to be almost always right 99.6% of the time.
Great to have you here.
Uh telephone number if you want to be on the program 800 two eight two two eight eight two, the email address L Rushbow at EIBNet.com.
If you are a regular listener to this program, you know that over the years we have chronicled the efforts of the left to take all enjoyment out of life.
To convince you that whatever you are eating or drinking will kill you, make you sick.
We have chronicled, we've gone from uh oat bran being something very healthful to something that could kill you, ditto caffeine and heart attacks and death and so forth.
You know the drill.
They just can't leave it alone.
And now we've reached the epitome of this, and it's in a Wall Street Journal story.
Countdown to a food coma.
This is a story about what happens to you after you eat.
What happens to your body after you eat a big meal for Thanksgiving?
Countdown to a food coma is the title.
What happens to your body after a big meal?
Clues to future health.
You have seconds on turkey and thirds on stuffing.
The top button is unfastened in your pants to make room for the pumpkin pie.
When that happens, it's time they say here to step away from the table.
The post meal recovery period is being studied by scientists.
Scientists who are increasingly finding that what happens in the body after eating a big meal doesn't just bring on sleepiness, commonly known as food coma.
It can also increase the risk of later health problems.
Now this is getting absurd.
Stop the studies.
Here we are two days before Thanksgiving, and even the Wall Street Journal has to run a story about how what you eat and how much you eat may kill you on Thanksgiving.
Everybody absorbs fats, sugars, and other nutrients differently.
These variations can provide clues about a person's risk for common medical conditions, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes.
We're talking about turkey and dressing the traditional Thanksgiving meal in the Wall Street Journal with a story on how you might be killed by it.
Even in healthy people, it says cells that line the blood vessels temporarily function less efficiently after you eat a big meal.
Researchers are also studying strategies for reducing risks in the period immediately after a meal.
Who is paying for this?
Why are they doing this?
Whoever they are, they need to be stopped.
Who cares?
Has anybody ever seen on a death certificate?
He died because of what he ate on Thanksgiving as a teenager.
Who are they trying to kid?
Researchers studying strategies for reducing risks in the period immediately after a meal, which is known scientifically as the postprandial phase.
Now I, as a man of culture, understand postprandial to mean that's when you have the cigar.
The postprandial wine or port and cigar, postprandial after Eating.
While going for a walk after eating might help digestion.
Recent studies suggest that exercising twelve or more hours before the meal can prevent one of the most damaging effects, a post-meal spike in a type of fat called triglycerides.
Who knew?
One of the biggest tasks for the body after eating is to deal with fats in the blood.
Cholesterol, particularly LDL or bad cholesterol, infiltrates the walls of the arteries, forms plaques, which can block blood flow, eventually rupture, leading to heart attack and stroke.
All of this simply by being an American.
All of this engaging in the traditional Thanksgiving meal.
The condition Atherosclerosis.
Did you know that Thanksgiving is responsible for that?
You hadn't heard that?
Thanksgiving is responsible for Parkinson's atherosclerosis, hardening of the arteries, dementia, you name it.
Thanksgiving is for it, is responsible for it, and you know why?
Because we took the country away from the Indians.
This is the price we pay.
They were minding their own business.
The Indians, the Native Americans had one with nature.
Harming nothing, harming no one, minding their own business.
And we, the evil white Europeans land at Plymouth Rock.
To hell with Chris Columbus, he was down in the Caribbean screwing it up down there.
We land at Plymouth Rock and we immediately destroy everything.
And we bring racism, sexism, bigotry, homophobia, slavery, syphilis, gangarrilla, you name it, we brought it.
And for this reason, we deserve to die after eating Thanksgiving dinner.
And the Wall Street Journal here is warning us how and why we deserve to have it happen to us.
Triglycerides, which typically peak after a big meal, are present in food.
Who knew?
They are converted by the body from other nutrients like carbohydrates.
Triglycerides are particularly problematic because they are so good at penetrating the arterial wall.
Said the chief physician in clinical biochemistry at Denmark's Copenhagen.
See, it is a bunch of other white Europeans who stayed there who did not come here, who are not responsible for taking it all away from the Indians.
They don't eat this meal and they live.
We eat it and we will die.
Mr. Snerdley is asking if the pilgrims' triglycerides did indeed spike up after Thanksgiving meal with the Indians.
Yes, that's the point of the story.
Well, they didn't survive.
You go back and look at the life expectancy of the people that lived in that era, and it was because of Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving killed people.
Wall Street Journal is on the case warning us of this.
Dr. Nordistgard and his team tracked about 14,000 Danish adults for almost 30 years.
Women who had developed triglycerides had a seventeen-fold increase in the risk of heart attack.
Men had a five-fold increase study published in 2007.
Spurred in part by the research, Denmark has shifted its clinical practice.
The story goes on for two more pages.
This is how absurd that it has become.
No, they don't tell you what you should eat.
They're just warning you here that big meal, it's really not just Thanksgiving.
Any big meal, you're gonna die.
Christmas dinner, same thing.
Any big meal doesn't matter.
What let me tell you so it's happened here.
The Wall Street Journal has caught Muchell Obama disease.
It's one day of the year.
One day of the year.
It's about being thankful for the fact that the pilgrims didn't starve to death.
It's about being thankful for the role God played in the founding of this country.
It's about being thankful.
And here come these medical scientific researchers trying to take the joy even out of Thanksgiving with this stupid asinine story about triglycerides and atherosclerosis and all the horrible things are going to happen to you if you dare sit down and have two or three helpings of dressing.
And what's more, you deserve it.
I don't care.
Tofu that tastes like turkey.
No.
No, no.
Toferki.
You must really be a highly trained broadcast specialist to say that word and stay safe.
Tofer key.
And you eat it, I suppose.
Yeah, certainly saying and you eat it for health reasons.
So you buy this stupid Wall Street Journal stuff.
Toferkey, give me a break.
Okay, back to the phones.
People have been uh patiently waiting.
John in Bristow, Virginia.
Great to have you, and I really appreciate your patience.
Hello, sir.
Oh, not a problem.
Hello, Rush.
Good to talk to you.
Thank you, sir.
Um, listen, um, I had a question that I'm hoping you can help me understand about this uh the way the Republicans are handling the deficit reduction committee.
Um I I can't figure out why, since we all know that if they let the Bush tax cuts expire, it's going to harm the economy.
Right.
Why not let the Democrats hang themselves?
Give in, make them have to take cuts in entitlements, and and when nothing improves, they'll win back both houses and the White House.
Why would wait wait a second?
Why are you saying let the Bush tax cuts expire, let them let just let them go?
Well, let the Democrats hang themselves by by basically harming everybody, because it's not just going to harm the rich, it's going to cut everybody's paychecks.
And let people Yeah, but you see, this doesn't this doesn't kick into 2013.
So it's not going to know, but it's all about it's all about perception.
You see, because the media is going to blame the Democrats or blame their never.
No matter what.
Never.
They're not gonna the media's not gonna blame the Democrats for anything.
No, no, no, I I meant the Republicans.
They're going to blame the Republicans for all of the intransigence.
Instead of instead of taking away their ammo, I don't understand why it doesn't make sense to sort of just let them let the economy fall to, you know, even worse so that then people will understand that the Democrat ideas.
You know, I've we've been through this.
I've I've been behind the golden EIB microphone for the 24th year now.
And I remember 1992.
And I remember people back then said, go ahead, Rush, let Clinton win.
Let the country see just how bad it is, and we'll win everything after that.
And people have said, go ahead, let Obama win it in 2008.
Let Obama win it.
Okay, Obama did win it, and we see what happens.
Obama's reelection is not it's still a possibility.
I I don't like that thinking.
I don't I don't like the thinking that says, let's let the country go to hell even further so that people will finally wake up and see what happens when the Democrats run the what more do people need than to see what's happened to the country now.
Problem is that 47% of people aren't paying any income taxes.
Forty-seven percent of people do not have a stake in what's going on.
Forty-seven percent of the population is content to be slovenly lazy takers.
That's what being an American means to them.
We don't have time to play games and hope people figure it out.
I mean, I understand the your your thought process here, but we don't have time.
We it's time for aggressive I'll tell you what ought to be happening right now.
If you really want to know the truth, instead of letting things get worse, because how much worse do we want them to get, at some point we can't recover from it, it gets so bad.
We've already lost a couple of generations of kids and their tax rates and what it's gonna take to pay for what Obama has done in just two and a half years.
What really needs to be happening right now as part of our presidential campaign, there ought to be a race going on between our nominees, who's gonna cut the EPA first, and then who's gonna move over to Department of Education and cut that?
Because folks, and then whatever bureaucracies we're gonna tame, and whatever other spending we're gonna cut back, because we're long beyond the point where tinkering around the margins is gonna fix anything.
If we are serious about what we say when we when we fear that the country hangs in the balance here, if we think If we're serious that we're at the precipice.
If we're serious that four more years of this guy transforms America in ways that generations from now, we might be able to turn it around.
No, we can't afford that wait any longer.
We can't afford to let it get any worse.
It's time to start being honest with the American people and educating them, and the history that they can learn from is happening right in front of their eyes.
It's called Spain.
It's called Greece.
It's called the entire European Union.
It's called the rest of the world.
There's an economic collapse just waiting.
We are broke with $15 trillion in debt.
And at some point, and I think we're there.
We can't just rely on enough Americans getting it.
And then having elected leaders follow them.
At some point, and we're there now.
It's time for pedal to the metal leadership.
It's time for the American people to be hit between the eyes with the reality of what this nation's future is and what we face and what we're going to have to do to fix it.
We can't go on this way.
We cannot go on with half the country being paid by the other half of the country.
Lifetime pensions, lifetime health care, when the people doing the paying don't have any of that themselves.
It can't sustain itself.
And it won't.
Times are are, I think, crucial, very serious.
It pain me.
It destroys me.
It actually affects my mood to see what's happening to this country.
It affects my mo to know that what I'm looking at every day is an administration happily presiding over the decline of a once great nation.
It infuriates me.
It depresses the heck out of me.
I wish, folks, I really do.
I wish I had the ability to ignore it.
I wish I had the ability to not let it affect me.
I wish I some days, I actually wish I was selfish enough to be able to say to myself, you know, whatever happens, I really ain't gonna affect me.
I'm okay.
I'm 60, and it'll live another 25 or 30 years, and I'm gonna get the most out of it I can.
See you later, and I'm I can't.
I got too much of a conscience.
I care too much about the country and what other people and their opportunities.
It is devastating to see what's in just two and a half years in Spain, a leftist government took that country from prosperity to doom and disaster in seven years, and they just had an election and the right wing candidates swept to victory by one of the biggest landslides in electoral history in Spain.
And the voters in Spain didn't care who were they were voting for.
What they were doing was getting rid of the people who had taken that country to the to the bottom barrel of survivability.
They didn't really care.
They knew that the people running against the uh incumbents were conservatives, they knew that they were right wingers, they weren't voting for a bunch of creeps and freaks.
But they were primarily motivated by getting rid of their current leaders, and that's what I think is bubbling up here.
In this, I think we've reached the point that you have uh described, you say let's look, it's gonna get worse when the American people see it.
I think enough of them do see it, which is why we have to capitalize on it now.
Because it's gonna be, it's gonna require more than one election.
And after the election, it's gonna require a substantive agenda to deal with some of these things that are gonna have to be reversed, downsized, fixed, or what have you.
We're close to the point of no return now.
Now there's always going to be a segment of population that's never gonna get it.
They're not informed enough, they don't care enough, and we're at a point now where too much attention's being paid to what those people think.
Too much attention's being paid to what takers want, too much attention's being paid.
These these occupy people.
The country wouldn't last a week if it depended on them.
Why does it matter what they think?
They are mere obstacles to be shunted out of the way.
But they certainly aren't to be pandered to.
And frankly, I don't care what makes them mad.
I don't care what makes them upset.
If we can elect the right people to fix what's wrong with this country, they'll be brought along, whether they want to be or not.
But they don't have the answers, and listening to them is a total waste of time.
Willie, Mount Vernon, Illinois, welcome to the EIB network, sir.
Hello.
Hey, Ditto's rush from a longtime truck driver.
I started listening to you in California when I started there.
Thank you, sir, very much.
I had a qu I had a uh statement that the unemployment numbers in October were a complete farce.
The government for every week was saying how there was 400,000 new unemployment claims.
So for the month of October, that's at least one million six hundred thousand.
And they said they supplied they uh created eighty thousand jobs.
That's still one million five hundred and twenty thousand that they lost.
How could the unemployment numbers go down a tenth of a percent when it should have gone up five to ten?
Very simply, there's an answer to the question.
They're crooked.
Well, I think I think the numbers are manipulated, but it's do you realize that since January of 2009 when Obama was immaculated, from then till now, the number of jobs that are available to be filled in this country is been reduced by two and a half million.
The regime has just erased them.
They've just wiped them off the books.
They have just said those jobs, they've not identified what they are, they said those jobs are gone.
So if the universe of total jobs available has shrunk by two and a half million, then you can play some games with the unemployment numbers, the unemployment rate.
The unemployment rate, if the number of jobs was constant today as it was when Obama was immaculated, unemployment rate, reported unemployment rate would be 12.3%.
The only reason it's nine is because they just erased two million jobs from total.
It's the workforce participation rate that the uh Department of Labor plays around with.
That's that's the total number of available jobs.
Workforce participation rate, it is the lowest it's been since 1983, or the worst.
And it's just arbitrarily arrived at.
They just, okay, this is the number of jobs available.
Um they erase jobs when businesses shut down, uh, stores close, factories move, and so forth.
I don't care.
Even if it's real, I don't care how you look at it, whether they're lying about it or we know that there are fewer jobs available in this country.
We know that this administration, in fact, they're not just managing the decline, they are organizing it.
They're organizing it.
And I, you know, Chris Chris Matthews, we played the audio from his interview on uh MSNBC over the weekend.
It is amazing.
He's got a book that he's uh plugging, a book on JFK.
So tables are turned and he's interviewed, and it's amazing when people like Matthews are interviewed, they've got a book to sell.
It's amazing how a different perspective comes out of their mouth.
What that interview with Matthew showed uh was that even liberals are scratching their heads, what is the guy doing?
What's on the plate for the second term?
What's the agenda?
How's he gonna deal with long-term debt?
And I had to laugh at that one because he caused it.
How's Obama going to deal with long-term debt?
What's his plan for it?
To create more.
He's already created how many new trillions of dollars in debt.
Where is evidence he doesn't like it?
Where is evidence he doesn't want to have it happen?
There is no evidence.
The evidence is he enjoys it.
There will be more debt.
There will be more deficit spending.
That's what's on tap.
And even people on the left, we had that piece from Doug Schoen and Pat Cadell.
I mean, the truth of the matter is, and this is this was true going into 2010 midterms.
There are Democrats, if you can find a couple of adults among them.
When they get behind closed doors, they talk to each other seriously about what this guy is doing to the Democrat Party.
Now, this is as extremist left as the Democrat Party's ever been, and there are a lot of people simpatico with Obama in it, but there Are some who understand that the Democrat Party is in the process of becoming a perpetual minority party and not so worried about it because they've got their judges in place and they they the liberals populate the bureaucracy in career positions.
So they have election insurance, but they still doesn't mean they want to lose elections.
They still want the power of winning elections.
And that's that's threatened here.
So when Doug Schoen and Cadell write a piece, they are serious.
Somebody needs to go to Obama and say for the good of the party and the good of the country, you need to stand down.
They blew it because he's a narcissist, and you don't go to a narcissist and say the problem is because of you.
What they should have done is gone to Obama and say, look, this job's too small for you, Barack.
White House?
President, you're capable of so much more.
We can tell you don't even like the job.
The job doesn't energize you.
It's so beneath you, Barack, and we know you don't like living in the White House.
You need to be running the UN.
You need to be doing something like Bill Clinton on an even grander scheme.
If they want to get rid of Obama, that's how they're going to have to do it.
They can't get rid of Obama going to him and saying, pal, you're destroying our party.
Because he'll just he'll just slap him down and he'll stick Michelle on him.
Nobody wants that.
The only people aren't intimidated are the NASCAR people.
Now, folks, I um I'm actually going to suggest.
This is, I don't know when the last time I did this is.
I'm going to actually suggest that you pay attention to what's happening on CNN tonight.
Eight o'clock.
Know why?
Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute are co-hosting a Republican debate tonight from, of all places, Constitution Hall.
This is a big night for the Heritage Foundation.
And in fact, if you don't know this, Wolf Blitzer is studying and rehearsing and preparing any retorts that might be necessary if he gets heckled by Newt Gingrich.
As you well know, Newt has launched from both barrels in every debate when he thinks the media, the uh uh moderators, and the uh interviewers are not acting fairly.
If they're acting out of bias, he calls them on it.
So we've been told that Newt, or that Wolf Blitzer is actually rehearsing retorts to Newt Gingrich, that blitzer has a staff and they're sitting back there and they're imagining the kind of insults that Gingrich might come up with.
And Wolf's gonna have a bunch of flip cards, and if Gingrich utters an attack that they prepared for, Wolf's gonna have an answer to it.
So while he I bet it probably will be on prompter.
I bet they'll probably put Wolf's reply to Newt on prompter.
Stop and think of this.
Honestly, the moderator of the debate, Wolf Blitzer, is in a hotel suite planning replies if Newt Gingrich heckles him.
I'm sure he's planning questions and the rest of it too, but they are worried because Newt scores points with voters when he lashes out against the media.
So it's all on CNN at eight o'clock tonight.
The uh the people at Heritage and AEI, these are people that put out reams of information on American national security.
Uh heritage particularly, and that this uh is the subject of the debate tonight, and as luck and good fortune would have it, this debate happens a full twenty-four hours after the admitted failure of the super committee to come up with a solution to our debt problem.
So now everybody is developing their opinion on how to handle national security at a time when apparently some forced cuts in defense spending are uh are looming in 2013.
So it makes it all the more interesting.
And this is Tim in Louis.
Great to have you on the program, Tim.
Hello, sir.
NASCAR Diddles from the Derby City, right?
Well, thank you, sir.
Great to have you here.
I need you to untie the other half of your brain because we're in point six percent territory right now.
You're misreading the president's intentions.
He sees himself as the champion of the disenfranchised uh populace in the inner cities.
If you think about his history, he graduated from Harvard, a liberal and he spent the most majority of his career working in the inner city of Chicago, where there's an entire permanent uh welfare underclass, right?
That uh the government in general and um the um social order in particular as leaving these people behind That that is his mission of the real mission of his presidency.
Everything it seems that everything he does.
Well, how's that working out?
How is that working out?
It's it's something that's gonna take you would have to look further down the road to see what No, I don't need to look down the road.
Government can't bring people along.
The Democrat Party, if you want to see government bringing people along, you take a look at what the Democrat Party has done to the black family.
You take a look at any constituency group of the Democrat Party that started out poor, they are poorer than when the Democrats began to help them.
Look what they have done to the schools.
Look at what they have done to every institution they claim to want to help.
The only people who are making out to the Democrat Party are the unions.
The only people who are making out are elected Democrats and the Kennedy family and other high wealth Democrat individuals like Nancy Pelosi.
But the people, the Democrat Party has told we care about you, we're the only ones that care about you, we're bringing you along.
They're losing ground, they're getting poorer, they're getting hungrier, they're getting thirstier, they're getting angrier because it's an empty promise.
The Democrat Party can't bring anybody along.
Government can't bring anybody along.
But you know, I don't disagree with you totally.
You are closer to being right than you know when you say that Obama has looked and he has seen the people left behind.
That's not what he sees.
What he sees is a country of immorality.
Obama sees a nation that has not gotten beyond its slavery past.
He sees a nation that has not gotten beyond its immorality, its racism, its sexism, its bigotry and homophobia.
He looks at this country and he's got a chip on his shoulder.
When he goes around the world and apologizes for this country, it's because he thinks this country's guilty.
This country needs to be cut down a size or two.
This country needs to find out what it's like to be a different country in the rest of the world.
He believes this country's greatness has not come from our people.
He believes this country's greatness has come from theft.
We have stolen oil, we have stolen resources, we have stolen people, we have stolen land, we've stolen everything to be great.
None of it was ours.
It's about time we paid the price.
So he's knocking us down a peg or two.
We are going to find out what it's like to be a victim of the United States.
That's what he and his wife view as their mission.
Now you got close to describing it correctly, but you got the motivation wrong.
I'm glad you called.
We'll be right back.
Don't go away.
Now, our previous caller, as I said, he was not totally wrong.
He's just got Obama's motivations uh a little factored a little incorrectly.
Obama went to New Hampshire today and he got heckled.
But he said something.
These were Occupy people who heckled him.
Occupy Wall Street, occupy whatever this occupied bunch was.
Here's Obama's full quote to them when they shut down, when they stopped heckling him.
Obama said to them, families like yours, young people like the ones here today, including the ones who were just chanting at me, you're the reason I ran for office in the first place.
I I kid you no well, you you sit out there and laugh at it, but hit this he has embraced the occupy movement.
This is what the caller was saying.
These are the people left behind.
These Obama believes this country institutionally creates people like this.
Those people, those lazy slovenly losers are only losers because America is unfair.
Not because they have anything to do with it, not because they may not work, not because they may not try very hard, not because they have been ill-educated themselves.
No, it's America's fault.
And they are the reason he ran for office.
Fine.
Well, what's he done for them?
He wants them to think that they're not gonna have to pay their student loans.
He wants them to think they're never gonna have to pay for a house.
He wants them to think they're never gonna have to pay for a car.
And he has the audacity in the same speech to talk about the American dream.
The American dream being work hard and you will be rewarded.
And here he is embracing a bunch of losers.
The last thing they want to do is work, and they are the reason he ran.
Listen to what he says, folks.
There are times that the left slips up and they tell you exactly who they are, what they are, what they're gonna do.
You just have to have the courage to listen to them.
Okay, the UK Guardian apparently has uh done it again, folks.
A fresh round of hacked climate science emails have been leaked online.
There are 5,000 emails that have been made available in an apparent attempt to repeat the impact of the similar release in 2009.
And again, these emails appear to be genuine, but the University of East Anglia said the sheer volume of material meant that it was not yet able to confirm that they were.
But apparently it's another round of emails that expose the hoax or the shenanigans, the lying, if you will, that climate scientists have engaged in to convince people that there is man made global warming when there isn't.
Okay, folks, have a wonderful day or rest of the day, and we will be back tomorrow.
Twenty one hours revved up and ready to go again.
