Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
Oh, she asked her constituents for permission to vent uh frustration at Obama.
And the constituents granted her permission.
And so together they vented frustration at Obama.
Hiya, folks, how are you?
Here we are, the middle of magical misery tour, dead man driving a Canadian made bus.
The buses have been made in Canada.
Greetings, L. Rushbaugh here, the Limbaugh Institute.
A thrill and delight to have you with us.
800 282-288-2, the email address L Rushball at EIBNet.com.
Boy Obama's in a hurry.
Major job speech expected September the 5th.
That's before the new iPhone comes out.
I mean, he's in a real hurry, folks.
You gotta go to Martha's Vineyard, got to wait for Congress to come back from vacation for a major, major economic speech.
And they're going back to school today in Joplin, Missouri.
This is the first day of Scruwel in Joplin.
Now their high school is now a converted big box retail store at the city's mall, because their only high school was destroyed by the tornadoes that ripped through their Joplin students are also attending classes in an industrial park and even in some of the uh offices of the state's transportation department.
Now this might be one of the uh few times in the annals of recorded history that some kids are actually grateful to be going back to school.
Um anyway, as I said when we went to Joplin back on the 4th of July, we're going to keep Joplin front and center here on this program.
You know, they're not asking for anything there.
I mean, they they've got their they've got their um uh funds that you can donate to, but you know they're not running around saying, hey, what about us?
Can we get some federal money here, some federal money there, and none of that.
They're right there in the heartland, and uh they're rebuilding themselves and they're getting back to normal with school starting today.
Meanwhile, there's a story out of Detroit.
Now wait, there was a recent story out of Detroit before today's story out of Detroit.
The recent story out of Detroit was they had to close half the schools or something something like that.
You recall.
The story out of Detroit today is that every screw kid's gonna get breakfast, lunch, and a snack.
I guess it's gonna come from Obama's stash.
Oh, I have details on that.
Rick Perry is just everybody scratching their heads.
Some guy at the Hill.com's giving him 30 days, and then he'll implode.
He can't, you just can't keep talking this way.
I mean, it's gonna come back to Biden.
You just can't keep saying the things he's saying.
It's just this isn't gonna work.
You don't you don't threaten a Fed secretary like that.
You don't, you don't, you don't tell a guy you better not come to Texas.
He might not be safe.
You don't run around to a state fair packing heat.
You know, just who does this guy think he is?
He's not sounding very presidential.
I'm just saying you're a good reporter.
Why don't you go ask him?
Rick Perry.
Um let's see.
Well, food stamps, as we mentioned yesterday, Obama's agriculture secretary Tom Vilsack said that food stamps are a stimulus for the economy.
Vilsack said that food stamps create jobs.
So now, at least according to the regime, unemployment benefits stimulate the economy and create jobs.
Now, food stamps stimulate the economy and create jobs.
Next, they will try to tell us that higher taxes stimulate the economy and create jobs.
Oh, did already did.
By the way, folks, I have I just want to warn you, I have figured it out.
I know what the Obama campaign is going to be.
No, seriously, I know I'm sounding kind of uh jocular here, but seriously, I have figured it out.
I've been able to translate it from listening to some of the stuff that he's been mumbling out there on the on the bus tour.
Now he can't run on his record.
We know that.
He knows it.
They all know it at the regime.
They can't run on his record.
They have, somebody in the regime has said that they are going to personally seek and destroy whoever the Republican nominee is.
They think it's going to be Mitt Romney.
So they're going to go after Romney on morals, on character, qualifications, personal stuff.
They're going to just do operation research like it's never been done before.
But in addition to that, and I think this is very important, I think we all need to keep this in mind, because if I'm right, we're going to start seeing it very soon.
If we're not actually seeing it already.
And that is an attempt to run on the record.
He is going to say my plans would have worked all kinds of magic if it weren't for all those Republican obstructionists.
That's what he's going to do.
Not complicated.
But they desperately want to run on Obama's record.
His ego.
His ego is such that he has to.
He's telling his handlers that they have to find a way for him to be able to run on his record.
He can't run on 9.2% unemployment.
He can't run on all this.
But what he wants to do is run on how good it would have been if it weren't for it's it's sort of Truman esque.
Do nothing Congress, only this isn't an obstructionist Congress.
It's nothing new from the guy that we were all told represented, something unlike anything we'd ever seen in politics.
Little did we know how right they were, but we didn't know in what regard.
This is the first Marxist press.
Well, Woodrow Wilson might be close, but it is what it is.
That's what he's going to do.
Run on how good his plan was, and how effective it would have been if it hadn't been for these obstructionist Republicans.
Now, for that to work, people are going to have to forget that he had supermajorities with Pelosi and Reed in the House and Senate for early part of the regime that he had just some of the most promotional uncritical press coverage in the history of the presidency.
People are going to have to forget all of that.
It's funny too, uh, folks, how much the news media is worrying about there not being any sufficiently presidential candidates in the GOP field.
Have you picked up on that?
And worrying that they, Terry, this doesn't sound presidential.
And uh and Bachman, oh man, confusing Elvis' date of birth with his data death.
Tell me something.
Why is that any bigger a deal than Obama saying he visited all 57 states?
Why was not a big deal made out of that?
We all know the answers to these questions.
They're rhetorical.
But we have, we have perhaps about as unpresidential as any president's ever been a guy in a White House now.
Among all the other unprecedented things about Obama, his unpresidentialness stands out.
So he wants to run on his record, it's a broken record, and he's going to blame Republican for it.
Just keep a sharp eye.
Now the buses.
And by the way, this caravan, have you seen this?
Have you seen pictures?
This is a 40 vehicle caravan, this tour.
Have you seen any videos of this bus tour out there in the Midwest?
You haven't.
Let me tell you, there is there's one going around of his entourage speeding through a small town in Minnesota.
Maybe we can put it up at Rushlimbaugh.com if Coco can find it.
It's huge.
It looks like more than 40 vehicles in this caravan.
And you know something else?
In this video and practically everywhere else, a conspicuous absence of crowds.
There are not a lot of crowds, and nobody's fake fainting, and nobody is for real fainting at these appearances.
This is so unlike 2008.
You don't see too many American flags either at any of Obama's appearances.
No, you don't.
But 40.
40 vehicles.
That's not just a carbon footprint.
That's a carbon bootprint.
From our first green president.
This is the kind of hypocrisy that used to be able to make Al Gore blush.
I don't think anything can make Al Gore blush anymore, but it's an amazing thing.
40 buses.
So it has been learned that the buses were made in Canada.
Some sort of a free trade agreement or some such thing.
So Obama pulls up in his Canadian-made buses yesterday in Iowa, Northeast Iowa Community College, gets off of his Canadian-made bus and says.
We've got folks in America driving Kias and Hyundai's.
I want to see folks in Korea driving Fords and Chryslers and Chevys.
I want to sell goods all over the world that are stamped with three words, Made in America.
Right on.
Yeah, right on.
That's that we've never had a president say that before.
Why?
He owns two car companies and he goes to Canada to get two bus maids.
Buses made, that's right.
He owns two car companies.
And I just but you think if you have to say, I want to sell goods all over the world stamped with three words made in America.
You think if you have to say that there might be some question about it in people's minds.
As if no, no, no, no, really do.
I do like America.
I um I uh I want things made here.
I really do.
Uh don't don't confuse me with uh with other people.
Now, this is hilarious, folks.
Yesterday in Detroit during a congressional black caucus jobs tour event, Representative Maxine Waters, who once approached me in Atlanta at the Super Bowl and claimed to be a capitalist, with her husband Sidney standing right next to her.
She actually sought me out.
Yeah, my husband, he sells Mercedes.
I'm a capitalist, I don't know what you're talking about.
A socialist.
I said, well, it's nice to meet you, and I went over and talked to Gene Upshaw.
At any rate, in Detroit, Congressional Black Caucus Jobs Tour.
Maxine Waters uh talking to her audience.
We don't put pressure on the president.
Let me tell you why.
We don't put pressure on the president because y'all love the president.
You're very proud.
We do very proud to have a black bank.
At the United States and a bank.
If we go after the president too hard, you're going after us.
When you tell us it's all right, it's all right.
When you tell us it's all right, and you unleash us, and you tell us you're ready for us to have this conversation.
We're ready to have the conversation.
Did you follow that, folks?
Maxine's talking to the audience out there.
And she's talking about how wonderful it is to have first black president.
Oh, yes, it is.
And we're very proud, very proud to have a black man.
Yes, we are.
First time in the history of the United States, if we go after the president too hard, you going after us.
When you tell us it's all right, and the crowd says, it's all right, the crowd said, go for it.
So Maxine's asking Permission to go after the president as a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.
When you tell us it's all right, and they didn't budge, they didn't delay, they didn't, it's all right.
She says the uh black community getting tired wants to know why he's not driving his bus through any black communities.
We're supportive of the president.
People are hurting.
Unemployment is unconscionable.
We don't know what the strategy is.
We don't know why on this trip that he's in the United States now, he's not in any black leads.
We don't know that.
But all I'm saying to you is we're politicians.
We're elected officials.
We are trying to do the right thing and the best thing.
When you let us know, it is time to let go.
We'll let go.
So she's asking permission from the crowd to go after Obama, and the crowd granted permission.
Maxine and the Congressional Black Hawk is wondering why Obama's not driving the bus through black communities.
Well, it is sad, too.
Pathetic.
It's um it's sad.
Let's go back.
Uh I'm sure they'd love to see Obama drive the bus through Detroit.
Why are you here?
To get some money.
What kind of money?
Obama money.
Where's it coming from?
Obama.
And where did Obama get it?
I don't know.
His fashion.
I don't know.
I don't know where he got it from.
But he's giving it to us to help us.
We love him.
That's why we voted for him.
Obama.
All right.
Yeah, now that's October 2009, and the previous Maxine Waters sound rights for yesterday.
So these people in Detroit have been waiting two years.
And nothing from Obama's stash.
Maxie Water shows up, basically asks permission from the crowd to finally go after Obama, and they don't hesitate.
They grant her and her congressional black caucus buddies permission to go after Obama.
She says she doesn't know what strategy is.
The unemployment's unconscious.
She don't know why Obama's avoiding black people.
What?
Yeah, well, it is, it is.
This is typical of the left, though.
I mean, she's the whole point of this, the whole point, Maxine is the one who wants to unleash.
But she didn't have the guts to do it without an imprimatur.
So she's got to go out.
She's got to get the permission of constituents, and that'll be, hey, you know, I I really didn't want to do this.
I really didn't want to have to attack President Obama.
My constituents are demanding that I represent their interests, and they want to know what the hell.
As long as we're on this trail.
By the way, the uh the bus video is posted now at Rushlinbaugh.com.
Coco found it.
That long caravan looks like 40 vehicles rolling through the Midwestern, upper Midwestern uh countryside.
There is two buses.
One is the Hearse.
Uh Wendy, have you seen that black bus?
I mean, it looks like a Hearse.
And then there's another red one.
You got a you got a black bus, you got a red bus.
That has got to be a real challenge for Obama as to which one to choose to ride in.
Because the color red has appealed to leftists.
Well.
What?
I do remember snugly.
Now you're gonna really get me in trouble.
The red bus looks like Michelle's black widow dress.
Black widow spider dress.
Well, now we're gonna have to get a picture of the Michelle Obama black widow spider dress and put that up on the website so people know that what we are know what we're talking about.
But you know, look at I I um I'm really not comfortable pointing this out.
I mean, I Really am not.
It's a tale of two cities.
Detroit, Joplin.
Now, I do not know.
I have no clue what the politics, and I met the mayor there.
I don't know what party he belongs to.
I don't know the political makeup of the governing officials of Joplin, Missouri at all.
But I can tell you, I know for a fact that Detroit has been run by Democrats for who knows how long.
And you can see the results.
And here after two and a half years of Barack Obama, the first black president in Detroit, they're still in need of asking for, begging for food money for students.
I thought that had been done.
I I thought the school lunch and breakfast program was already in place.
How can this not be redundant?
Meanwhile, in Joplin, nobody knows about it.
They're just rebuilding on their own.
Great to have you with us, Rush Limbaugh and the EIB network already at Wednesday, folks, the fastest week in media.
And a reminder, uh, tomorrow, sturdy, we're gonna do open line Friday on Thursday tomorrow, because Friday I'm out uh annual week-long golf trip to Hawaii starts on uh starts on Friday.
You didn't know this.
You did not know this.
Does this mean that there are no guest hosts, Lent?
No, no, no, it cannot possibly mean that.
No, no, no.
Friday and all next week.
You didn't know about Friday.
Well, it's your fault.
The memos, the memo, I mean, it's been very clear.
Staff is yanking my chain here, folks, uh, trying to make it seem as though I didn't inform them that I was not going to be here on Friday.
Uh well, I I guarantee you, if you if you two don't know, then somebody's determined you're too low on the food chain, because there are people who do.
Yank my chain like that.
Here it is.
I mean, this is I gotta, I got it's hard enough here without you guys distracting me the way you are.
So anyway, we're gonna be doing open line Friday on Thursday tomorrow, and uh we'll have uh uh I'll tell you who the guest host lineup for next week is when uh when I figure it out.
Since we're look, I got one more audio sound bite.
What?
No, no, nobody told me who's coming in.
Uh how does it matter?
What does it matter?
What?
Uh ladies, look, I'm sorry, you're you're in the dark, you don't know what's going on here, and there's no way that you will know what's going on.
It's why they don't have microphones on this show.
This isn't gonna happen.
And I've judgment on that's been confirmed several times.
Now we had the Maxine Waters sound bites, and she got permission from her constituents.
So the Congressional Black Caucus now has the okay to go after Obama.
This is a big thing.
A big, you know, unemployment in the black community is sky high.
It's in, depending on the city, it's in the 20s and 30s.
And you can imagine, you hear these soundbites that we played from Detroit two years ago, what all these people thought was going to happen, what they thought the election of the first black president was going to mean to them personally.
And it hasn't happened.
It hasn't happened for anybody.
Obama has not improved anybody's life.
You know, there is a general Maylays.
I had dinner last night with a friend, used to live here, moved away, is moving back.
I haven't seen this this guy in a long, long time.
We went out and had dinner last night.
And it's it's just we were talking about the fact that even people who are not destroyed financially and economically by this regime's policies.
Even those who are working doing okay, there's a general sense of unhappiness and unease, as we all know, because of the future and what it holds, and people who have lost their jobs, their prospects for finding a job are bleak.
People who still have their jobs are worried how long are they going to have their jobs once if Obama kicks in and if he wins re-election, what other damage is going to be done?
So there's a general sense of unease and even unhappiness.
And what I have found, and it's uh uh I don't want to say heartwarming.
That's not the right word, but folks, even people who are unaffected by this uh in meaningful ways.
I mean, everybody has lost.
Not everybody, some people have actually done well, GE, Jeff ML, but I mean, people who are economically okay are still some of them unhappy because of what's happened to the rest of the country.
There's no, at least the people I run into, there's no, well, I don't care, I'm doing okay.
I don't care what happens, it's all gonna even out in the end, and we'll come back, country will come back.
That attitude's not there.
The attitude is, gee, if what's going to reverse this slide.
And most of the people I know are conservatives.
And as conservatives, we want everybody to do well.
We want, we want everybody to have that chance, or multiple chances at economic opportunity, educational opportunity.
We want that for everybody.
And when that opportunity is shrinking and unavailable, there aren't a whole lot of people I know who are saying, well, I got mine, I don't care, I'm happy.
They're not.
They don't like seeing what's happening to the country.
They don't like to see a leadership that appears to be, even though it isn't, appears to be wandering cluelessly and aimlessly on a bus tour.
There's nothing clueless or aimless about this bunch.
They are right on target.
My friend, Norman Podoritz had a piece recently, I think in the Wall Street Journal, and he took a little issue with me, friendly, and Dr. Sowell.
In our assessments of Obama, you know, my assessment of Obama is that he's doing all this on purpose to explicitly harm the country because, as I have said, I think he's got grudges, grievances, things about the country doesn't like.
Fedoritz disagrees, but it's it's almost a distinction without a difference.
He says Obama is who he is.
In Norman's view, I'm paraphrasing now, I don't have his piece right in front of me.
Norman Pedoritz's view, Obama really thinks that he is in charge here to improve the country and to uh uh rescue it from its past sins and cleanse it and so forth.
The end result, the same.
It's just a, I guess a distinction of differences with the motives applied, but there is no disagreement over what's happening, and that is a purposeful transformation of a capitalist market-based economy rooted in liberty,
private property rights, and all that, to a centralized command and control authority running as much of human life in the country as possible, On the basis that individuals are not capable of living life themselves in ways that would please arrogant elitists.
Too stupid to make the right decision.
So it's got to be done for them.
Regardless, whether there's clueless, aimless wandering through the wilderness here, or whether this is an on-target assault of the country, the fact of the matter is there is a dispiritedness among even the successful,
among even those who are still employed, or so far not totally negatively impacted by this.
And there are some in the country that way.
Some of the people I know in that in that circumstance, it's not guilt that they feel, although it's close.
It's sadness.
I don't like the fact that I'm doing well while other people, it's not that.
It's it's that we're conservatives.
We want everybody to do well.
We want everybody to have a chance.
We just cringe at this notion.
You ought to hear the stories, folks, of employers who need jobs filled.
So they have people come in, and the first thing they do is give them a job application form to fill out.
He said it's shocking.
The number of people who leave the office to fill it out, meaning they can't read.
They have diplomas, but they're illiterate.
Now, how is that happen?
How's it possible?
How can you get out of high school not being able to read your diploma?
And of course, not be an athlete.
That's happened for decades.
So they leave and they have somebody else who can read and write, fill it out and bring it back.
But they're not getting away with it because people understand if you can't sit there and fill it out in front of me, then you probably can't read or write.
What is happening to our country?
What?
What's happening to the education system?
So melees, whatever you want to call it.
So now we hear Maxine Waters with the Congressional Black Caucus.
And they're just itching.
They know what's happening in the black community.
They can see it.
Remember now to them, this was supposed to be the big salve.
Obama, first black president.
This was going to take care of everything.
This was going to be essentially reparations.
This was going to be where, okay, finally, and it hasn't happened, it's just gotten worse.
There hasn't been any improvement whatsoever, and there hasn't been any expression of concern for the White House, as Maxine Waters said.
We don't know why his bus isn't going through black communities.
So the Congressional Black Caucus sitting there and they're chomping at the launch, but that's treasonous to them.
But if they have the imprimatur of their voters, their constituents, which is what Maxine Waters was seeking and what she got in Detroit.
I want to go back one more sound bite to February 10th, 2009, not even a month after Obama had been immaculated.
Not even a month.
Just to illustrate for real, you listen to this, you're either going to laugh.
We laughed at first back in 2009, we laughed.
But now you scratch your head and you say, in America, this.
This took place in Fort Myers, Florida.
President Obama held a town hall, again less than a month after being immaculated.
And this is during the QA with a member of the audience named Henrietta Hughes.
I believe in prayer, so I appreciate that.
I have an urgent need unemployment and homelessness.
A very small vehicle for my family and I to live in.
We need urgent and housing authorities have two years waiting lists, and we need something more than the vehicle and uh parks to go to.
We need our own kitchen and our own bathroom.
Please help.
Well, I uh listen, uh what's your name?
What's your name?
It's Henrietta Hughes.
Okay, Ms. Hughes.
Well, we're we're gonna do everything we can to help you.
But there are a lot of people like you.
We're gonna We're gonna do everything we can.
All right.
But the uh I'll have my staff talk to you after the town hall.
All right.
Now I don't know what happened to Henrietta Hughes, but here she goes and she shows up at a presidential town hall, basically asks for a car to live in and a new kitchen.
Obama says, Well, I'll have the staff get with you after the uh town hall here.
Now this is what that's that that's for real.
People were expecting this kind of thing.
A lot of Obama voters were expecting this kind of thing, they haven't gotten it.
It's not nowhere near this, it's gotten worse for them.
Don't tell me, don't tell me this guy cannot be defeated.
All right, Snerdley, look at me.
I just got the note from corporate.
Now I am corporate, as you know, but I just got the note from corporate.
You did tell us that you would be off on Friday.
For some reason, I cannot explain right at this moment.
Kit and I looked at just next week.
And when James took this on, he focused on next week.
But we'll fix it now.
Okay, so I will now grant that you didn't know, but it wasn't because of me.
Corporate, quote unquote, dropped the ball.
Jonathan Alter just tweeted.
And this is this look at this this is um.
What did Obama do for that lady?
Nothing.
We didn't in fact we learned that Henrietta Hughes was a property owner.
You know, after that, I I forget the details, but that woman owned property.
It was uh she was not nearly as destitute as she portrayed herself to be.
But that's not my point is I can't recall a presidential town hall or press conference where a citizen asks the president for a kitchen.
I can't recall where that is what any citizen of this country thought the president's role was was to provide him or her a kitchen or a car to live in.
If I were president and I did a town hall of somebody else, I would be profoundly embarrassed.
And I would dispatch a staff member or myself afterwards, and I would talk to that woman and I would give her, and I would, in fact, I wouldn't have waited.
I would have used the occasion to town hall to give a little lesson on what America is all about and how I don't have time to get you a kitchen.
There are far more important.
That's your job.
And I would ask her, how many federal programs have the people you've been voting for all your life created to give you the kitchen, and somehow you still don't have it.
Anyway, Jonathan Alter has just tweeted.
I think it's a tweet.
Yeah, it's a tweet.
Sources say New Jersey Governor Christie conducting focus groups for a possible run for president.
Anybody shocked by that.
I, ladies and gentlemen, I'm gonna tell you right now, I am not surprised at anything that's gonna happen on the Republican side in the presidential field.
I happen to know I uh I I know where the divisions in the Republican Party are.
I know that the establishment GOP is not happy with any of them right now.
My guess is the people at Wall Street Journal are not happy with any.
There's a wild guess any of the Republican announced nominees.
But my guess is a Wall Street Journal editorial, people would love Christie to get in.
Northeastern.
Uh tough on the unions fits the bill there.
Um as I told you, I knew with Rick Perry getting in, it's be like a miniature bomb being dropped uh in the middle of a campaign.
And of course, lurking out there is Sarah Palin.
By the way, we posted, or we soon will, uh, on the website, rushlimbaugh.com, a graphic side by side, Sarah Palin's bus that she used to visit uh historical sites this summer, and Obama's hearse bus.
We'll be back, we'll call it.
I remember this now.
Henrietta Hughes was offered a home by Cheen Thompson, wife of State Representative Nick Thompson, who heard her plea for help to Obama.
So a couple of Democrats hearing her plea at the town hall gave her a house.
After the town hall.
Export Selection
