Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
Does anybody now doubt that this is on purpose?
I mean, after all, Barack Obama inherits a AAA credit rating from George W. Bush, and look what he does to it.
Obama's always running around complaining and whining and moaning about all that he inherited from George W. Bush.
Well, he inherited a AAA credit rating, an unemployment rate of 5.7 some odd percent.
Does anybody doubt that this is on purpose?
Well, look, my credit rating doesn't suck.
There are a lot of individual Americans whose credit rating aren't in trouble.
The United States has never been in this position.
And the next thing that's going to happen is, is that, what is it, the Tea Party, not Tea Party, the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, others are going to be downgraded.
And what are the Democrats doing?
Blaming the referees.
Blaming Standard and Poor.
That always changes the outcome, doesn't it?
Blame the Riffs.
You people in Seattle, the Seahawks, Super Bowl, 2005, Steelers.
Blame the Riffs.
Last time I looked, the Steelers still won the game.
So go ahead and blame Standard and Poor as all you want, Denver.
Now they're blaming the military.
Barney Frank's blaming the military.
Rumsfeld was on our DC affiliate this morning, WMAL.
You know what?
Military spending is 4% of GDP right now.
Military spending is 4% of GDP during the Eisenhower administration in the 50s, post-World War II.
Defense spending was 10% of GDP.
Today, it's 4% of GDP.
And Barney Frank and the Democrats are trying to say it's the military's fault that we've been downgraded.
This is the fault of the Democrat Party.
Greetings, my friends.
I am Rush Limbaugh, America's anchorman, fighting the rising forces of socialism.
They want us to believe now that France is better than we are.
And of course, you can talk about the S ⁇ P all you want, folks.
But the real problem that we've got and the real referee we're dealing with are the loan sharks, and that's the ChiComs.
The ChiComs are dictating the terms of this.
They are our number one borrower.
And, you know, ask the banks about what happened when Trump was having trouble paying them back.
What did they have to do?
If Trump went down, they went down.
Well, the ChiComs are in much a similar situation.
This is just so outrageous.
Even my old buddy Pete Wayner, who worked for Rove in the White House and who has been reluctant.
Pete's the epitome of fairness and even-handedness and so forth.
Even Pete, at his Commentary Magazine blog today, said this.
It reinforces perhaps like nothing else has the impression that Obama is overseeing and in some respects engineering the decline of the American Republic.
There can be no doubt.
It now just takes the courage to admit it.
This is why I said I hope he fails.
Because I didn't want to see this happen to our country.
And I didn't want to see that.
I mean, I am so, I am mad and I am depressed at the same time over what happened to the SEALs in Afghanistan.
This is just, Folks, this is not who we are.
This country today, as constituted, is not who we are.
Now, sometimes that phrase is incorporated.
You know, some actor or Hollywood type will get caught in an embarrassing situation.
And while being caught in the act of whatever it is, how this is not who I am.
Yes, it is who you are.
You were doing it.
Well, this is not who we are.
This legitimately is not who we are.
We are not.
We were never intended to be a nation in decline.
We have a president that's overseeing, and Pete's right here engineering the decline of the American Republic.
I'm glad that somebody is finally starting to echo this.
Just like snurdly, when did I do, what year did I do my April Fool's thing, tax the poor?
That was 1990 some odd, right?
90, early 1990s, and the whole point, even though it was an April Fool's joke, the whole point of it was that a rising percentage of Americans were not paying taxes, not just the poor.
And now we're up to 48% of the American people who have no skin in the game, not paying taxes.
In 1993, 1994, I, El Rushbow, got the ball rolling with this whole notion of tax the poor.
And even though I did it on April Fools and as a partial April Fool's joke, of course people fell for it.
Damn, and it was almost as effective as when I endorsed Bill Clinton that day for 10 minutes and then denied it to every caller thereafter.
No, I didn't endorse Clinton.
I just heard you.
Well, that was in my youth.
You can't hold me accountable for things I did in my youth.
I mean, it was trying to illustrate what a liar the guy was.
And so simply trying to point out here that this is all being done on purpose.
And it's tragic.
And it is just ticks me off when Barney Frank sits over there and starts talking about how we need to cut defense.
He is singing from the Chikom hymnal.
They want us to cut our defense spending too.
Now, contrary to what the Democrats are saying, Standard and Poor's is not saying we're not taxed enough.
They're saying we're spending too much.
And I'll tell you something else.
And I have written this to a bunch of people over the weekend.
Another thing I'm ticked off about is this stupid debt deal.
Remember last week, on Wednesday, after Obama received the new spending authority in that debt deal, we spent $259 billion in one day, $259 billion in debt in one day, which was more than the cuts over 10 years are going to end up being in the debt deal.
Now, before the debt deal started, before it was signed, I told you the Republicans were operating out of fear.
We were told that if we did not sign that debt deal.
Well, what were we told?
Let me ask you.
We were told that our credit would be downgraded, that we might go into default, and that the Republicans would be blamed for it.
Okay, so we did the debt deal.
What's happened?
Our credit has been downgraded.
We haven't gone into default, but the Republicans are being blamed for it.
And the military is being blamed for it.
An opportunity to sit there and do the right thing once again was squandered because of fear.
George Patton wrote a poem in 1945 entitled I Am Fear.
I have it here, and at some point during the program today, I'm going to read it to you as only I, America's anchorman, can.
And he was paid $250 by Cosmopolitan Magazine, I think it was, to write this poem, $250 back in the 40s.
And it is perfect.
Tax the poor was April 1st, 1991.
That's what being on the cutting edge of societal evolution is all about.
Taxing the poor, I suggested it in April on April 1st of 1991.
Of course, the whole point of it was that a rising tide of Americans were not paying for what they were getting.
And of course, I was castigated from coast to coast for it.
And here we are 20 years later.
It did make the, oh, yeah, it made the national.
Taxing the poor made national.
Of course it did.
Now, you know, in a lot of, you know, 20 years comes along and goes by, and now they understand there are other people out there claiming they are responsible for all that's tension to it now.
Fine and dandy.
But I, I, folks, I just, I can't tell you as, you know, a proud, patriotic, heartfelt, God do I love this country, America, and how mad I am at what is being done while everybody sits around and watches it.
You may not want to admit that this is being done on purpose, but if you sit down and you spend just 15 minutes analyzing what has happened in the last two and a half years, I don't know how you can come to any other conclusion.
In the last two and a half years, we've had plenty of time to assess what hasn't been working and change it.
Instead, we have doubled down on what hasn't been working.
We have doubled and tripled what hasn't been working.
We have piled what doesn't work on top of what doesn't work, on top of what doesn't work.
The old definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again, expecting a different result.
We've got it.
We have insanity at the upper levels of our government.
So now we know what Obama got for his birthday.
A downgrade of our credit rating.
Probably exactly what he wanted, his heart of hearts.
Has he said anything about it?
Nope.
What's the market today?
Ha!
We're down just a measly 304 today.
The futures last night had us down 290 at the opening bill.
So we're down a measly 304.
So Democrats, let me ask you, are you happy now?
You finally got your hope and change.
I said that I hoped he would fail.
And this is exactly what I meant.
But from your perspective, from Obama's perspective, he hasn't failed.
He succeeded beyond his wildest dreams.
And now look where we are.
How many of you saw the movie Planet of the Apes?
You see the movie plan?
Remember how that movie ended?
Colonel George Taylor on a beach.
Statue of Liberty halfway buried.
New York City doesn't exist.
Charlton Heston is Colonel George Taylor.
You did it.
You finally did it.
Damn you all to hell.
You did it.
That's how I feel today.
That's how I've felt all weekend long.
Damn it to hell they did it.
Obamageddon.
That's what we have witnessed since Friday.
Obama getdon, Barackalips now.
The only silver lining I can find is that as far as 2012 goes, Obama's a debt man walking.
Anyone want to tell me he's not land slidable now?
Let me repeat this as the media tweak of the day.
What we have witnessed since Friday, Obama getdon, Barackalips now.
And the only silver lining out there is that as far as 2012 goes, Obama's now debt man walking.
What's he going to say?
He's going to make a speech at one o'clock.
We've got to all work together.
Construction workers, go out there and rebuild America.
What?
Balanced approach.
Balanced yet.
Tax cuts or tax increases yet.
Balanced approach, tax increases.
Now, where has Obama been hiding over the week?
And I know he's been playing golf.
Our problem is he hasn't been playing enough golf, as it turns out.
But how come he's refusing to go on TV talk about this?
Shouldn't he be talking about it?
Maybe taking a victory lap?
Spiking the ball in the end zone.
The NFL's back.
He said he was hoping that would happen.
We'll go out there.
Go to some team's training camp and spike the ball in the end zone.
Obama's managed to accomplish something else that's completely unprecedented, which is one of his favorite words.
This is unprecedented.
Credit rating started in 1917.
This is unprecedented.
Instead, the White House is saying Obama won't dignify SP's downgrade with a response, which just means they haven't been able to come up with one.
Christina Romer has though.
She said, we've been intercoursed.
Our economy is intercoursed.
Christina Romer, yeah.
I got the sound by Grab Audio Soundbite number five.
This Friday night, HBO's real-time idiot Bill Maher talking to the former chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisors, Christina Romer, about the economy.
And Bill Maher says, How intercoursed are we?
I mean, right before the show, SP downcreated our credit rating.
Pretty darn.
I've been hanging around Tim Geiger too long.
Why does he swear like a sailor?
Oh, like a seventh grade boy.
So our former Council of Economic Advisors going on a comedy show on HBO to talk about how our economy is now intercoursed.
And she was one of the former economic team that helped introduce policies that led us to the point where now we're intercoursed.
What it up.
Who Biden did?
Gore?
Oh, I said Gore over the edge.
I haven't heard any of it.
Gore did.
I haven't paid it.
What did Gore do?
Cursed us out?
Cursed who cursed us?
We say, Oh, oh, that, oh, that, oh, that.
He's ticked off because we can't talk about the GD climate anymore.
Yeah, well, we beat that back.
That's one moment of progress.
We've had a AAA credit rating since 1917, all the way through World War I, the Great Depression, we had a AAA credit rating.
World War II, we had a AAA credit rating, and we lose it now.
And for what?
For what great purpose did we lose it?
Except an ideological hatred of American capitalism and a love of class warfare, what did we lose our AAA rating for?
A naked effort to get still more and more money to buy votes.
Never-ending quest for power.
That's why we lost our AAA credit rating.
Think about it.
Obama's finally managed another major accomplishment on that list he told us he had, that list that he said he'd only done about 70% so far.
At long last, Obama and his fellow Democrats have finally been able to convince the world that we are just another country, after all.
Nothing exceptional about us or our economy.
For crying out loud, France has a higher credit rating than we do.
France, they produce cheese and perfume.
Yeah, Christina Romer says that we have been intercourse.
She's the one that gave us the dape rate drug, which was the stimulus.
Obama's going to come out at 1 o'clock.
He's going to say that we need more taxes, more spending, more stimulus.
He's in summer reruns right before he goes on vacation.
There was a piece in the New York Times yesterday by, let's see, a psychology professor by the name of Drew Weston.
Very, very, very long piece.
Weston is a, I mean, classic liberal who believes that Obama's problem is that he's not tough enough.
He hasn't spent enough.
He hasn't confronted the Republicans enough.
But then he also has this.
In fact, you know what?
I'm going to wait.
I don't think I can, with the proper and necessary flair, read this paragraph from psychology professor Drew Weston's piece in the New York Times, Do It Justice in the limited amount of time I have, so I'll save it.
I just want to put another thought in your head.
If you think that the Democrat Party is not thinking about Hillary Clinton as a primary opponent to Obama, you are not thinking.
I'm going to tell, folks, if Hillary Clinton were president right now and the same circumstances existed, they would be thinking about Obama primarying her.
Not marrying, primarying.
And I am here to tell you that deep in the bowels, and that's what they are, the Democrat Party, they're thinking about this.
We'll be back.
Don't go away.
Welcome back, Rush Limbaugh.
This, the Excellence in Broadcasting Network, I am America's truth detector.
America's anchor man.
A doctor of democracy.
All combined as one harmless, lovable little fuzzball.
Telephone number is 800-282-2882.
This interesting paragraph, this is again Drew Weston yesterday in the New York Times after basically saying that Obama's not tough enough, not confrontational enough.
And actually, he says Obama's not liberal enough.
That's his problem.
He hasn't been liberal enough.
These people are deranged.
They're delusional.
But this guy had one interesting paragraph.
And here it is.
Again, psychology professor Drew Weston.
I ever heard of the guy.
New York Times found him.
He had this piece in the New York Times yesterday.
A second possibility is that Obama is simply not up to the task by virtue of his lack of experience and a character defect that might not have been so debilitating at some other time in history.
Those of us who were bewitched by his eloquence on the campaign trail chose to ignore some disquieting aspects of his biography.
That he had accomplished very little before he ran for president, having never run a business or a state.
That he had a singularly unremarkable career as a law professor, publishing nothing in 12 years at the University of Chicago Law School other than an autobiography.
And that before joining the United States Senate, he had voted present instead of yay or nay 130 times, sometimes dodging difficult issues.
Now, you in this audience know all of that.
We discussed all of that.
The drive-by media never said a syllable of any of that during the campaign.
And that's just one little paragraph in an otherwise long essay blaming Obama for not being liberal enough, not being tough enough.
But maybe it boils down to he just isn't qualified.
He's never done anything.
Many people have made the point before.
Obama taught law for 12 years at the University of Chicago.
And many people have pointed out: have you ever heard, has the media ever found a student of Obama's who talks about how inspired he was by Obama?
No, there is no such person.
The media has not found one such student or anybody from Harvard where Obama was on a law review and there also didn't publish anything.
They haven't found one student or one colleague or one associate who said they were inspired, mesmerized, or motivated whatsoever by Barack Obama.
He has almost a blank slate past.
So you ask in retrospect how did he get elected?
That's not hard to explain.
The media drummed up such hatred for George W. Bush, combined with the phony spin package that the Messiah had come and attached to Obama and voila, here we are.
I want to go back, grab audio sound by 31.
This is interesting.
As you know, The regime first tried to say, I think it was the tax cheat, little Tim Geithner, somebody in the regime tried to say that the downgrade of our credit rating by Standard and Poor's was a $2 trillion math error.
Remember that?
Sometime over the weekend, some that was Geithner.
Yeah, $2 trillion.
This is not the first time this regime has claimed such a thing.
I want you to go back, listen to this program, actually me, myself.
August 24th, 2009.
On Friday, August 21st, Obama had left for vacation on Martha's Vineyard on Friday, August 21st.
Then on the following Monday, August 24th, I said the following.
Folks, we live in two parallel worlds here.
We live in the real world, and then we live in the Obama-snorting world.
In the real world, we just learned on a document dumped late Friday afternoon, we just learned that the national debt will increase not by $1 or $2 billion, not by $10 or $20 billion, but by $2,000 billion.
$2 trillion.
That's how much we are going to be adding to the national debt via the deficit, annual budget deficit, $2,000 billion.
But in the Obama-snorting world out there with the state-controlled media, we hear that Obama is fiscally responsible and we hear that he will cut deficits.
And he says it persuasively, elegantly, believably, it happens.
He speaks within the expertise that his audience's understanding.
Meanwhile, the debt is piling up at record rates unseen in this nation ever.
And yet we hear that Obama is responsible, that he's fiscally responsible, that he's going to be cutting these deficits.
And that's why we have to do health care.
That $2,000 billion more, $2 trillion, $2,000 billion more in debt, that's before the additional $1,000 to $2,000 billion more that Obamacare will add to it.
The new debt figure was the biggest news of the year.
And so far, it's the least reported news of the year.
That was August 24th of 2009, almost two years ago on this program.
This, folks, is what I mean when I say we've doubled down and tripled down on what doesn't work.
Whatever doesn't work, we do it again, even more vigorously than we did it the first time.
And if it doesn't work the second time, we get even more excited and we triple down on it.
This regime has taken what doesn't work and added to it.
So on Friday, August 21st, Obama leaves for vacation.
They had a little document dump.
It says, oh, by the way, our miscalculation, we were wrong the other day.
Our national debt's going to go up by $2 trillion as a result of policies to date.
That was as of two years ago.
I mean, that's, folks, that is his first year.
He was emaculated in January of 2009.
This was in eight months.
The White House announced on Friday in August, before he goes on vacation, national debt has been added to $2 trillion.
Now, where are we?
Two years after that, nearly two years after that, we've gummed down and lost our AAA credit rating.
Does anybody still want to try to maintain to me, well, is it just, you know, they haven't spent enough yet, Mr. Limbaugh.
Keythian economics doesn't work, sir.
They just haven't spent enough money.
And the Tea Party is ultimately responsible for it.
The Tea Party.
The Tea Party.
Did you see Obama's campaign manager, Axelrod?
He's on one of the talking head shows over the weekend.
He blamed a Tea Party for the SP downgrade.
He called it the Tea Party downgrade.
Now, there are so lies, some lies that are so outrageous, it's almost impossible to believe anybody would utter them until you remember that Axelrod used to be a journalist, and that it's easy to accept that he would utter such a lie.
But let's review because it's not just Axelrod, it's that stupid, longfaced John Kerry, who served in Vietnam, and a number of others are trying to blame Dingy Harry trying to blame the Tea Party.
Tea Party is the only group that has ever pushed for real deficit reduction.
In fact, the Tea Party is the only group to offer a plan to reduce the deficit.
It was called Cut Cap and Balance.
Yet, according to Axelrod, the downgrade is all the Tea Party's fault.
That's what liberals call logic.
The rest of the world calls laughable, bald-faced lies.
Speaking of liars, it's only natural that John Kerry, who served in Vietnam, would parrot Axelrod's lines.
After all, Kerry got his start in politics, parroting the most outrageous lies about soldiers in Vietnam.
It's also amusing to hear Howard Dean say the Tea Party's out of touch with reality.
Howard Dean then went on to mock the only people who have pushed for a reduction in spending.
The group who forced this debt discussion in the first place, the only group to offer an actual plan to reduce the deficit.
The Tea Party.
By the way, where is David Axelrod's plan to reduce the deficit?
Where is John F. Kerry's plan to reduce the deficit?
And where is Obama's plan to reduce the deficit?
And where is Barney Frank's plan?
And where is Nancy Pelosi's plan?
And where is Stenny Hoyer's plan?
Where is Maxine Waters' plan?
They haven't presented a budget in over 800 days.
They have no plan whatsoever other than to preside over this disaster.
None of these Democrat luminaries have the slightest idea what to do.
All they can do is smear the only people who are trying to fix the problem.
Now, the White House did put out a hilarious trial balloon over the weekend via thehill.com.
Headline was, White House, SP downgrade is why Obama pushed for grand bargain.
Funny.
But if this was so important to saving the country, maybe the regime should have written something down and had a plan about it.
SP downgrade is why Obama pushed for grand bargain.
The bipartisan House of Representatives passed a bill the SP has said would have prevented the downgrade, the cut, cap, and balance bill.
Guess what, Mr. President?
The SP said cut, cap, and balance.
If you'd passed that, it was bipartisan, would have prevented the downgrade.
But Obama and his allies wouldn't even discuss it, let alone allow it to come up for a vote.
Why?
They are not interested in what works.
That is so obvious.
All it takes is the courage to admit it.
So what the Democrats are trying now to use a downgrade, just like they use every crisis as an excuse to raise taxes.
That is always job one.
Meanwhile, we are supposed to forget the Democrats had supermajorities in both houses of Congress and the White House for most of the last two years.
And they didn't once pass one bill to raise taxes.
They had their chance.
But the Democrats don't want to raise taxes unless they can blame the Republicans for it.
That's how concerned they are about saving the country.
In fact, they're not concerned about saving the country.
Barack ellipse now, Obama Gidden has as its primary purpose the discrediting of the Tea Party and Republicans, conservatives, and of course the destruction of United States capitalism.
Let me count the pages here.
One, two, three, four, five, six pages.

Obama blames, no quotes, just Obama blames returns 6,920,000 results versus Google.
