The views expressed by the host on this program documented to be almost always right 99.6% of the time.
That's according to the latest opinion audit from the official opinion auditing firm that we use in Sacramento, California, the Sullivan Group.
Telephone number 800-282-2882 is the number.
If you want to be on the program, the email address, El Rushbo at EIBNet.com.
Great to have you here.
The big voice on the right.
Leading you through the murk, the tumult, and the confusion.
They are actually saying now that there was an AK-47 within arm's reach of Obama.
Osama.
Damn it.
There was an AK-47 within arm's reach of bin Laden.
Version number 26, AP, only one of the five people killed in the raid that got bin Laden was armed and fired any shots.
Wait.
We were told that there were no shots fired.
The Pakistanis said there were no weapons in there.
And then version 26.
New revelations about the raid that killed Osama bin Laden reveal a SEAL team encountered a false door and found a small arsenal of weapons, including an AK-47 assault rifle in bin Laden's bedroom within arm's reach.
Now get this.
Folks, I kid you not.
I'm doing show prep today.
And one of the places I clicked on was one of these media watchdog sites called Mediaite.
And there is this, I kid you not.
Headline.
Obama planned Bin Laden mission in midst of filling out NCAA bracket.
I'm sorry.
It's what it says.
Remember all the fun people made of Obama for taking time out from busy pre.
Well, we did.
We weren't the only ones.
Other people raised questions.
What do you mean?
You're president of the United States.
There's a lot of serious stuff going on.
People losing their homes and jobs.
And you're making a big deal about bringing an ESPN crew to videotape your bracket selections for the NCAA tournament.
So now Obama planned Bin Laden mission in midst of filling out NCAA bracket.
It's by Dan Fogarty at a website called SportsGrid.com.
And I got there via Mediaite.
Hey, you remember when everybody said that Obama was wasting his time filling out an NCAA tournament bracket while the world fell apart around him?
Well, in case you need to refresh it, I've got video here.
Well, it turned out that Obama did find time to do something meaningful in the midst of dithering away with his bracket.
He started planning the midnight raid that would kill Osama bin Laden.
On March 15th, ESPN and its camera crew came to the White House to film a segment in which the president revealed his NCAA tournament picks.
According to this New York Times report, Obama met with his national security team the day before to discuss the bin Laden mission.
So he actually took time out from planning the bin Laden mission to make his picks, his brackets.
Yeah, they were wrong, but I mean, this is just, I read this, this has got to be the onion.
This has to be Scrapple Face.
This is going to be Saturday Night Live script that's leaked out.
But no, they're dead serious.
Well, Golf Course 2 took time out from playing golf and his brackets to plan the mission.
In fact, he's probably planning the mission on the T-box.
Gary, very gutsy.
I mean, all of this is gutsy.
Now, here's a question, a question worth pondering.
Do you think it's telling that Obama flew to New York to give New Yorkers their moment, but couldn't take an hour to drive across the Potomac to honor those in the Pentagon?
I mean, maybe he's going to, but he hasn't gone to the Pentagon yet.
He did fly to New York today to, oh, where's that headline?
That's juicy, too.
I should not have put this in the bottom of this.
I should have kept this here at the top of the stack to give them their moment of something.
Only Obama can do this.
Give them their moment of, well, I'll find it here.
Now, speaking of this, just 50 selected 9-11 families were invited to the Ground Zero ceremonies where Obama could give them justice.
Obama is finally bringing justice to New York.
That's what it is.
Only 50 selected 9-11 families were invited.
And you have to wonder how.
How were these 50 selected?
What was that procedure?
And did you know this?
One selected family that was invited isn't going.
They say they want proof that bin Laden's actually been killed.
You know what the most popular post on MediaIte is right now?
It's an article about me praising Obama for his bin Laden mission.
Thanking God for Obiots.
That's the number one clicked-on item at Mediaite, where today we learn that Obama was planning the mission while making his bracket picks.
Yeah, Obama giving New York its moment of justice on bin Laden by Ben Feller AP.
Obama giving his moment of justice.
50 families, one family refused to go because they want proof.
Go to the audio soundbites.
I mentioned earlier Doris Kearns Goodwin just, you might need an insulin shot or some kind of medicine to deal with insulin shock here.
She's on Morning Joe today, that's Scarborough show on MSNBC.
They're having a discussion about the raid to get bin Laden.
And the co-host Willie Geist said to Doris Kearns-Goodman, you can go back to Lincoln and some of these, Doris, his war secretary holding hands with him as they waited.
Today, they get the information a little quicker.
Yeah, no, isn't that incredible the thought that they are waiting, watching the telegraph come through, and they're going to hear that tens of thousands of people, 5,000 people, 8,000 had died that very day.
I can't Even imagine what that must have felt like.
So, the only way that Lincoln could deal with his anxiety, the very next day he would go to the active battlefield.
He said he felt the need to walk amidst the thinning ranks of the soldiers to go visit the wounded in the hospital to sustain their morale.
But otherwise, he couldn't bear that burden of that anxiety.
Now, here we have to reduce Lincoln in order to fit Obama's size.
We have to compare what Obama's doing here with Lincoln.
And so, Mika Bzinski said, Well, you say it has to change him, but is there a possibility that it also changes others around him, like the Republicans he's dealing with over the budget, the debt ceiling?
Those people who are working across the aisle from him, aren't they looking at a different person now?
I think they're going to see that the public is seeing a different person.
I don't think the bounce in the poll matters that much.
What matters when you look at a leader is that you make up a whole bunch of decisions about what kind of a person he is, what kind of a leader.
I think no longer in the short term can we think he's not decisive, can we think he's not willing to take a risk?
Republicans have to see that.
And if they see the public seeing that, wishy-washy above it all, remember the narrow and emotional story.
Exactly.
I mean, they all may be there, but there's someone with a lot of nerves.
This professor had guts.
It's gutsy.
This professor had guts.
Well, one of the criticisms was that Obama came off as a very professorial discussing theories in the faculty lounge.
But now, now they found a professor with guts.
They do.
Oh, they do.
They think it's going to last forever because it does for them.
You know what they're tantamount admitting here?
They're tantamount admitting the guy was wuss.
They are admitting that the public perception of the guy was of a wuss, of an incompetent, particularly in foreign policy.
That's what they're admitting.
They're admitting that they had doubts.
They are admitting that they had questions about Obama.
They are admitting that they were uncomfortable.
So now this thing happens, and look what they're trying to make it into.
Now, this cancel the 2012 election.
Okay, now, okay, this is the guy we thought we were electing.
This is who we thought we were getting when we heard a guy speak in front of the paper-mâché fake columns in Denver.
So they are actually admitting that what we've always thought about Obama is correct and that they've shared the same sentiment.
Yep.
Yeah, taking this action has made him a man.
It's taken him out of the faculty lounge and has made him a real guy now.
Yeah, he's Nit Trapp.
He's special forces himself.
He's gutsy.
Obama killed Osama.
Forget the debt ceiling.
Obama killed Osama.
Forget unemployment.
Doesn't matter.
Obama killed Osama.
Forget the foreclosures.
Forget the price of gas.
Obama killed Osama.
He's O Rambo now.
Barack Orombo.
That's basically what they are telling us.
News media and the rest of the Democrat Party finally giving President Bush the respect he deserves for his excellent foreign policy for keeping the country safe by crediting Obama for it.
He's just simply using policies, tactics, strategeries that were implemented by George W. Bush.
You know, do you watch Morning Joe Snirdly?
Do you ever see the show?
But you have seen it, right?
I mean, you've seen Mikab Zezhinsky.
You know, she's the daughter of Zbigniew Bjashinsky.
Otherwise known as Z-Big, the national security advisor for Jimmy Carter.
Well, she reminds me.
You ever watch Rocky and Bullwinkle?
She reminds me of Natasha.
That's right.
She reminds me of Natasha from Boris and Natasha, Rocky and Bullwinkle, the Moose and the Squirrel, the Bullwinkle Show.
I mean, I know Natasha was a brunette, but, you know, the quiet dignity, the good sense.
I got to take a break.
I can't handle much more of this, folks.
And here's another one.
Well, actually, I knew this one yesterday, but let's pretend we just found out about it today because some of you might not know.
We're being told that the SEALs had a bomb-sniffing dog with them.
You believe that?
That a bomb sniffer, a bomb-sniffing dog, got off the chopper and went into bin Laden's hideout.
Now, where's the sensitivity to Muslims on this?
After all we've been told about things that will inflame the Arab street, this has the potential to be even more controversial than even the release of photos of bin Laden's body.
Dogs sniffing in bin Laden's hideout?
Where is our sensitivity?
Did nobody think to call care before they launched this mission?
Here's the latest current truth, by the way.
Just keep rolling in here.
The SEALs recovered three AK-47s and two pistols from the compound.
This is the most dangerous terrorist in the world.
This isn't even a respectable gun collection in Texas.
And you go into some guy's house in Texas, and this is what you find.
That guy's embarrassed if you make it public.
The most dangerous terrorist in the world.
Three AK-47s and two pistols, plus a water squirt gun that the Pakistanis didn't even have the foresight to remove from the picture.
All right, Jeff in Madison, Wisconsin.
I'm glad you waited, sir.
Welcome to the EIB network.
Hey, Dittos from the Land Unlost, Rush.
Thank you, sir.
I was watching Alan Dershowitz last night, and he got me to thinking.
And because Obama's put out so many different, I guess, what happened, it made me to think that I remember hearing the media when it first happened, they talked about it was such a gory picture that it was such a big head wound that that was one of the reasons they didn't want to put it on.
And then I started thinking about when Kennedy was shot years and years ago, that the entrance wound was a very small wound, and the exit wound was huge.
And I was thinking that the reason that Obama really doesn't want this picture to come out is because, and get me, I don't care how he died, but I just think that he was shot from behind, and they don't want that coming out.
Interesting.
I don't know.
They're saying that the bullet wound in the front of the face is there.
Well, look, we could speculate on this all day long as to why the pictures aren't being released.
I think they will be.
I think we will see these pictures.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
There's an election coming up.
We will see these pictures.
One way or another.
We will see them.
He spoke of having heard Dershowitz.
Dershowitz was on CNN last night, Piers Morgan tonight.
And Piers Morgan is sitting in, well, the replacement for Larry King, who's now out on his stand-up comic tour.
And Piers Morgan said, Alan Dershowitz, you said on this show last night the photos should be released.
So there's closure, particularly for the families.
I think of those who died on 9-11.
What is your reaction to the news that the photos will not be released?
It's a terrible mistake.
It's not whether it's him.
It's the question of how he died.
Was he armed?
Was he not armed?
Was he standing up?
Was he lying down?
Was he shot in the front?
Was he shot in the back?
Particularly because we have no body.
They buried it at sea.
Also a terrible mistake, in my view.
We need to have those photographs, not to prove that it's him, but to prove the circumstances under which he was killed, to allay any doubt about those circumstances.
I think we will rue the day when we try to suppress this information.
That's an interesting take.
We don't need to find out if it's him.
We need to find out how whoever it is died.
Alan Dershowitz of Harvard.
It's not to prove that it was him.
Was he fired on from the front?
Was he fired on from the back?
Was he armed or unarmed?
Was he standing up?
Was he laying down?
Was he shot in the back?
We have no body.
We need those photographs.
Why?
To learn what kind of people we are?
Obama said we're not going to release the pictures because that's who we are.
That's not who we are.
We don't spike the football.
From, you know, Reuters folks getting increasingly skeptical in their reporting.
Headline of their story today, no resistance in cold-blooded U.S. raid.
This is quoting Pakistani officials.
This cannot be favorable for the regime.
The regime cannot be happy to see this story from one of their state-controlled arms.
Osama bin Laden and his comrades offered no resistance when killed by U.S. special forces. Pakistani security officials said Thursday.
U.S. accounts of what happened have changed throughout the week, and initial characterizations of a 40-minute gun battle have given way to officials being quoted as saying only one of the five people who were killed had been armed.
You know, the regime needs to start time-stamping their version of events here because it's impossible to keep up.
And I kind of hate to bring up these stories because of my tremendous respect for the SEALs and everybody else involved at the operational level.
And I'm fairly sure that all the discrepancies that we have heard have come from the incompetence in the regime who are desperately trying to spin things for the best optics.
But I mean, these people, the Obama people really seem determined to snatch a propaganda defeat from the jaws of victory.
And now they're trying to blame the SEALs for their own bungling in establishing a narrative.
And this is what happens when you put children in jobs that are meant for grown-ups.
This really is a fire drill.
Well, I don't want to insult firemen either.
But this is chaos.
And, you know, for that, for all intents and purposes, it could be purposeful.
It could well be the regime wants everybody focused on talking about this and talking about that while they are taking action elsewhere.
Could be all these different versions are simply the latest diversionary tactics.
Just get everybody talking.
Could be the regime doesn't care how they're perceived by critics.
Could be they don't care.
The more ridiculous they look, fine.
It's just going to mask everything.
Nobody but us is talking about the unemployment numbers today.
Nobody but us talking about the debt ceiling.
Nobody but us talking about the Republicans claiming that they're nowhere near yet ready to debate Obama on foreign policy.
As long as they keep coming out with these oddball versions of events, they keep everybody focused on Obama in a way that, of course, is not flattering, but it does divert people's attention if they're not as attuned to events as we are here at the EIB.
Now, this is why I am the big voice on the right.
So we got the videotape rolling now.
And some of it's actually live.
President Obama and his victory lap in New York City.
President Obama giving New York its moment of justice on bin Laden.
That's an AP headline today.
Let me tell you a few things.
Who is it?
Who is it actually that gave New York its moment of justice on bin Laden?
Yeah, you can throw Obama in the mix.
He made a couple of gutsy calls out there while making his bracket picks for the NCAAs.
You can't take Dick Cheney out of this.
You can't take George W. Bush.
Their policies were utilized by Obama after Obama campaigned against them and appeared to be governing against them until it came time for him to need them.
But I'll tell you who's giving New York its moment of justice today.
And they're not getting their due.
And that is uniformed military personnel, the SEALs and their support teams.
The warriors, folks, the same warriors who signed up, volunteered after 9-11, the same warriors who were attacked here at home for their interrogations.
The same warriors attacked by John Kerry and John Murtha and Dick Durbin, the same CIA and intelligence services people that were attacked by the liberals after we went into Iraq, compared to people that ran the gulags in the Soviet Union and Pol Pot's operation.
Dick Durbin compared the people we celebrate today to those totalitarian, authoritarian, murderous regimes.
Those people were attacked by Obama.
They were attacked by Harry Reid.
And Obama based his campaign for president on degrading these people, on degrading their mission.
It's they who brought us to this point and to this moment.
So what do we have now?
What is this really all about?
This bringing New York its moment of justice.
What this is, is a save face day for Obama.
Obama, his party, the media, this is a cover-up today.
They are in full cover-up mode.
And what makes it even worse is that they are trying to take the credit for what happened or assign it to themselves.
Places it doesn't belong.
Folks, do you realize that as we speak, the Attorney General of this country is still investigating the CIA interrogators who provided the intel to make this operation a success?
Well, it is infuriating, but it is nevertheless true as we speak.
The man who refused to prosecute the new Black Panthers continues investigating CIA interrogators at these black sites.
They're the ones who did the enhanced interrogation that led to the intel, the leads, the courier, all of this that took us to Bin Laden.
And they are under investigation by this administration.
As we speak, where's the outrage over that?
Where are the Republicans demanding that those interrogations and investigations be stopped?
I'll demand it for whatever good it would do.
But I am here to tell you that what this man is doing is weakening the country.
Domestically, foreign policy, making it more difficult for future presidents to be in a position to do exactly what he's done here.
He's denying future presidents the same advantages that he used thanks to Bush and Cheney.
Says a lot that Bush refused to go there today, I think.
I think it says quite a bit.
Here's a story.
This is from theHill.com.
The Obama administration has floated a transportation authorization bill that would require the study and implementation of a plan to tax automobile drivers based on how many miles they drive.
The plan is part of the administration's Transportation Opportunities Act, an undated draft of which was obtained this week by Transportation Weekly.
It follows a March Congressional Budget Office report that supported the idea of taxing drivers based on miles driven.
Among other things, the CBO suggested that a vehicle, a vehicle miles traveled, VMT, as opposed to VAT value added, this is vehicles, miles, traveled tax could be tracked by installing electronic equipment on each car to determine how many miles were driven.
Payment could take place electronically at filling stations.
The CBO report was requested by Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad, Democrat, North Dakota, who has proposed taxing cars by the mile as a way to increase federal highway revenues.
Obama's proposal seems to follow up on that idea in section 2218 of the draft bill.
That section would create within the Federal Highway Administration a surface transportation revenue alternatives office, another bureaucracy.
A surface transportation revenue alternatives office.
Its job would be to create a study framework that defines the functionality of a mileage-based user system and other systems.
The regime seems to be aware of the need to prepare the public for what would likely be a controversial change to the way highway funds are collected.
For example, the office is called on to serve a public relations function as the draft says that it should increase public awareness regarding the need for an alternative funding source for surface transportation programs and provide information on possible approaches.
Okay, so here's the question.
Here's the question.
The president has proposed tracking the mileage you drive by installing electronic equipment on your car for which you will pay.
Payment for the miles you drive would be paid to the government electronically at gas stations.
Do you approve or disapprove of the job President Obama is doing?
Put this question in a poll.
Put that question in a poll exactly as I just recounted it to you.
Let's poll Obama's approval numbers of the question tied to taxing you by virtue of the number of miles. that you drive.
Does the gasoline tax not punish big drivers enough as it is?
The story says nothing about what happens to the existing gasoline tax.
We all have to assume here that it remains.
This new bureaucracy would be funded with a total of $200 million through FY 2017 for the project, which means a billion.
They'll undershoot it by a factor of five just on the cost.
And in a companion story, CNBC.com, it's official.
Home prices have double dipped nationwide.
They are now lower than their March 2009 trough, according to a new report from Clear Capital.
Nationwide, more than 25% of all homeowners with a mortgage are in a negative equity position.
Let me translate that for you.
It means your house is worth less than what you're paying on it.
It's called being underwater, and now we are at 25% of all homeowners in that situation.
In some markets, the number is far higher.
46% of Massachusetts borrowers are underwater, according to the lending tree.
Nearly half of Massachusetts homeowners are underwater.
The last time home prices fell at this rate three years ago, they were boosted by government stimulus in the form of a home buyer tax credit.
But a note of caution to those looking for a strong end to 2011.
The last time no incentives were in place and distressed inventories were this high, home prices fell sharply.
Well, now we're two and a half years into this.
I guess it could be accurately said that Obama didn't solve the housing crisis.
Right?
We're double dip here.
Home prices nationwide double dip.
No victory laps here.
This is going to result in dwindling property tax revenues, and this results in more underwater mortgages.
That results in more foreclosures, which results in lower home prices, and the cycle repeats itself.
And it is all the product of this regime.
And they alone claim they have had the government policies to fix all this, and they've implemented them, and it hasn't worked, has it?
Well, taxing mileage won't solve the problem either.
Taxing job creators won't solve the problem.
Class warfare won't fix this.
And more food stamps won't solve the problem.
Mr. President, you used President Bush's methods.
Listen to me.
Look at me.
Mr. President, you used President Bush and Cheney's methods to track and kill bin Laden.
Please use President Reagan's policies to rescue this country.
Where are we going next?
Ian, in Alpena, Michigan.
I'm glad you called.
Great to have you on the program.
Hi.
Hi, Rush.
Yes, hi.
Yeah, you were talking about Hillary Clinton earlier, and she had an exciting 38 minutes.
The most intense 38 minutes of her life, yeah.
Yeah, I remember a while back she was talking about going into Bosnia under gunfire, and I just wondered if she forgot about it.
You know, that's an excellent point.
Hillary said that she was being fired on.
There had to corkscrew in there, corkscrew land.
Yep.
So I don't know.
That's right.
She was under snipper fire.
Yep.
But that was just my comment on that.
And I was going to ask you one more thing.
What do you think about Chris Christie and John Bolton for candidate in 2020?
Well, I like them both.
I like them both.
Christie says he's not running.
Christie says he's not ready.
Mitch Daniels says he's not yet ready to debate Obama on foreign policy.
And the AP says that none of the other Republicans are either.
Bolton, I like Bolton telling me Bolton's not ready to debate Obama on foreign policy.
Give me a break.
At any rate, look, anything can happen.
Christie could decide, you know, a year out that he's ready.
We're still very fluid.
Even the first Republican debate is tonight.
Where is it?
South Carolina, right?
Yeah, you got Juan Williams.
Fox has Juan Williams there, and I'll bet you Juan wishes he was in New York.
And all these people assigned from the news agencies to the Republican debate.
Can you imagine how they're feeling like they got the shaft?
Here's Obama in New York saving the city.
And these guys have to go schlep down to South Carolina and hang around a bunch of people they hate.
Republicans.
So here's Obama.
I want to put something in perspective.
Here's Obama.
The AP says that he's Obama is like, I'm having a mental block.
Obama bringing justice or yeah, whatever.
Obama's bringing justice to New York today.
9-11 families are there, 50 of them.
We don't know how they were selected.
One 9-11 family refused to go because they haven't been shown poof that Osama is dead.
But think of this.
Think how much happier even than they are today the 9-11 families would be if Obama had gotten his way and Khalid Sheikh Muhammad and other terrorists were on trial a few blocks away from ground zero.
And imagine how happy the 9-11 families would be if there's a brand new, nice mosque for them to visit nearby.
That's the kind of justice Obama wanted to give New York.
What do you mean by that, Mr. Lemo?
You're trying to third thing, but no, I'm just recounting the recent past.
Mr. New Castrati, President Obama wanted to bring justice to New York by putting Khaled Sheikh Mohammed on trial in public in Ground Zero.
President Obama was in full-fledged support of a mosque at Ground Zero.
Imagine if he had gotten his way and both events were taking place today.
Imagine how much infinitely happier the 9-11 families would be with all of those things to celebrate along with the death of Bin Laden.
Oh man, just to sit here and contemplate what could have been.
Wow.
It'd help if I would turn on the golden EIB microphone.
All right, my friends, we are zipping through things today, which is the usual case as we have more fun than human beings should be allowed to have.
