Time Text
Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24 7 Podcast.
My gosh, we got lawlessness everywhere, ladies and gentlemen.
We got a we got a leader who's paying absolutely no attention whatsoever to the laws of the land.
And up next, we're going to discuss Mo Mar Gaddafi.
We get through with that.
Greetings, uh my friends.
I don't know.
Sometimes all you can do is laugh.
Otherwise, you literally go obscene and go nuts.
How are you, folks, uh Rush Limbaugh back at you, the EIB network.
All yours for three hours, 800-282-2882 is the number if you want to be on the program.
Barack Obama, ladies and gentlemen, took an oath.
Not that that means anything, but he took an oath to faithfully execute his duties.
And what he's doing in this defense of marriage act is abandoning the defense of the law, which means there's no one left to defend it.
The president of the United States and his corrupt attorney general just decided that the law is unconstitutional.
A law that dates all the way back to Bill Clinton.
They just don't like the law.
So he's going to repeal the law or part of it by refusing to defend it.
This is really extraordinary.
We could apply the age O test.
Imagine if this were Richard Nixon.
Imagine if this were George W. Bush and the law were abortion.
Jeff Lord at American Spectator has a as a funny piece today.
Sarah Palin's new attorney general Mark Levin has just decided that Roe v.
Wade's unconstitutional.
It's silly.
They're just going to effectively pretend it doesn't exist.
Can you imagine the outcry?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Very extraordinary.
And particularly from a liberty point of view.
Obama is encouraging lawlessness in Arizona.
He is encouraging lawlessness in Wisconsin.
He is undermining state governments everywhere he can, particularly if they're battleground states, which Wisconsin is.
He's ordering his Justice Department not to defend a federal law.
Nobody has said the law is unconstitutional other than Obama and Holder, and they don't have the power to do that.
Obama is ignoring court orders he doesn't like, such as drilling moratorium laws in the Gulf of Mexico.
And of course, the DOMA, Defense of Marriage Act.
The president is lawless.
The evidence is mounting every day.
And the only ones blind to it are his ass kissers in the media.
And they're not, you know, I don't care.
A leftist is a leftist.
I don't know whether they're a journalist, so-called journalist, or whether they're a pundit, whether they are a member of Congress or whatever.
Leftists are leftists.
And they're, in fact, I think these guys are they're celebrating.
They're having all kinds of fun here.
You got a prank caller to the governor of Wisconsin pretending to be David Koch.
Oh, wow, how creative.
Well, this is wonderful.
This is whatever it takes to defeat conservatives, because the enemy's not Moamur Qaddafi.
The enemy is not Al Qaeda.
The enemy is not terrorist organization.
No, no, the enemy is conservative Republicans.
That's the enemy that the American left lines up against.
I don't even think it's ass kissers in the media blind to it.
They are active supporters.
They encourage this lawlessness.
They applaud it, they laugh, they celebrate it.
They love it whenever one of their own pulls the wool over our eyes, they think.
They love it when one of their own tricks us or defeats us.
That's one of the reasons they love Clinton so much.
Look, let's not forget Obama's environmental protection agency is in effect legislating now when it comes to carbon dioxide, imposing rules on citizens that Congress has not passed.
In fact, rules that Congress has refused To pass.
What we are witnessing here is a deterioration of our society, our norms, our systems.
It's what it is.
De Tocqueville referred to it as, I'm sorry, Tocqueville.
The elitists get upset if you mispronounce the last name.
It's Alexis de Tokville.
But if you don't say Alexis, it's just Tocqueville.
You leave off the duh.
Anyway, Tolkien refu referred to this as soft tyranny.
What is soft tyranny?
Obama using executive orders, regulations, and now withholding the defense of laws he doesn't like to run the government out of his office.
These czars, as we have discussed on countless previous occasions, exist simply to bypass cabinet offices.
And they're unaccountable.
Nobody knows who they are, nobody knows what they make.
They've never been confirmed to anything.
As I said earlier, if Nixon or Reagan or Bush 43 had done this on a different issue, such as abortion or whatever, what would the left say for a president to ignore a federal law?
For him to I mean, not just ignore it, but to announce he's going to ignore it, to have a big ceremony, essentially, a big prof a press conference to announce he's going to ignore the law.
For him to act as legislature and court through the back door like this.
This is troubling, folks.
It is hugely troubling.
There would be headlines blazing across every newspaper.
Network news anchors jumping all over it.
And if nothing were done about it, they'd then be jumping out of windows.
They'd be demanding impeachment.
Dare I say, if a Bush 43, a Reagan or Nixon had done anything like this, the headlines today would be screaming for impeachment.
So what has to be done is a continuing expose, education of the public.
Continue to let people know what's going on.
Because then they get it.
They find out.
Media is all ecstatic today.
General Motors making a profit.
The news is reported ceaselessly.
Didn't they uh didn't they get lots and lots of special favors from this government?
Tax breaks and so forth.
So when General Motors reports a profit, the media is all excited.
It's the government reporting a profit.
There are two words that define this president and his administration reckless and lawless.
One of the most brutal, evil, anti-American tyrants of our time is facing a massive popular revolt that is threatening to finally remove him from power, and Obama cannot find the time to say anything about it.
Speaking here of Qaddafi, Gaddafi, Gaddafi, however he spells it.
And when the president finally does say something about it, he doesn't even dare mention Qaddafi by name.
Doesn't dare mention Qaddafi by name.
What does that tell you about Mr. Obama?
Now the media now tried to explain away Obama's lack of specific mention of Qaddafi because they're still Americans stuck in Libya.
But weren't there Americans in Egypt when Obama was demanding that uh Mubarak step down immediately?
You noticed Obama's on the wrong side of just about every conflict.
Georgia versus Russia, Honduras, Iran.
He's not supporting the pro-democracy revolt in Iran, Egypt, no way.
And until yesterday, Libya been on the wrong side of just about every conflict.
Maybe it's just an accident.
What a track record, though, for somebody who took a course in international affairs as an undergraduate.
We're going to go back to the campaign.
Mrs. Clinton questioning Obama's foreign policy credentials.
Obama's rejoinder.
No, no, no, no.
I lived over there until I was ten years old.
I lived, I have seen it.
Mrs. Clinton said, we really need more experience in that.
Somebody who lived in Middle Eastern countries until he was ten years old.
We have audio sound bites.
Let's start here.
This is uh this is the ridiculous Obama speech on Libya last night from the White House.
First of a series of sound bites.
First, we are doing everything we can to protect American citizens.
That is my highest priority.
In Libya, we've urged our people to leave the country, and the State Department is assisting those in need of support.
Right.
No mention of Qaddafi.
Just Libya.
Here's another excerpt.
We strongly condemn the use of violence in Libya.
The American people extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of all who've been killed and injured.
The suffering and bloodshed is outrageous, and it is unacceptable.
So are threats and orders to shoot peaceful protesters and further punish the people of Libya.
These actions violate international norms and every standard of common decency.
This violence must stop.
You tell them, Mr. President, you tell them.
That violence must stop.
Damn straight it must stop.
It's great to see our president on the case.
Violence must stop.
Now, I don't recall when we're talking about Egypt, and the president was addressing that issue.
I don't recall him mentioning the UN to you.
Well, he did talking last night about Libya.
In a volatile situation like this one, it is imperative that the nations and peoples of the world speak with one voice.
And that that has been our focus.
Yesterday, a unanimous UN Security Council sent a clear message that it condemns the violence in Libya, supports accountability for the perpetrators, and stands with the Libyan people.
Great, great.
Well, let's slough it off to the UN.
Still hasn't mentioned Qaddafi by name.
Did not dare do so.
I think I saw that Libya still maintains its position on the Human Rights Commission at the United Nations, despite all this.
Yeah, I think they do.
You may remember us mentioning this story last year.
This is uh April 17th of last year from a website called YNETNews.com.
And it's a story quoting Qaddafi.
Barack Obama is friend.
Libyan leader praises U.S. president.
He says he is of Muslim descent.
His policy should be supported as he now leans toward peace.
By the way, Hugo Chavez is aligned with Qaddafi.
Chavez is telling Qaddafi, yeah, you know what?
If we get together, we can totally change the balance of the world, getting rid of Western imperialism.
So Hugo Chavez, who has had handshakes and laughs and smiles with Barack Obama now in unison in support with Mohammed Gaddafi.
Libyan leader Qaddafi considers the U.S. president a blessing to the Muslim world, according to this story, why net news.com in a speech published in London-based Al Hayat newspaper on Saturday.
Qaddafi praised Obama, calling him a friend, said there is no longer any dispute between his country and the U.S. Speaking in the Libyan city of Sirt at an event marking the 24th anniversary of an American attack on Libya.
He said at the time, we were the target of the American cannon.
The American Navy challenged us in the Gulf of Sirt and attacked us all along Libya's shores.
America tested Libya and the Libyan people resisted the large country, but today we thank God the difference is great.
He said, now ruling America is a black man from our continent, an African from Arab descent, from Muslim descent, and this is something we never imagined.
That from Reagan we would get to Barack Obama.
Gaddafi stressed that Obama's presidency is a major historical gain.
He's someone I consider a friend.
He knows he's a son of Africa.
Regardless of his African belonging, he is of Arab Sudanese descent or of Muslim descent.
He is a man whose policy should be supported.
And he should be assisted in implementing it in any way possible since he is now leaning towards peace.
Gaddafi continued, I urge all peoples to give him this chance and to support this policy, because America is a country that, when its policy is bad, harms the world, and when it is good, it helps the world.
The Libyan leader in his speech Also expressed hopes that the dream that Obama has for a world free of nuclear weapons will come true.
This is something no previous American president has proposed.
Obama's a man who opposes wars that previous American presidents were entangled in.
He has declared that he will withdraw from Afghanistan and Iraq, something which has never been proposed before.
Well, no wonder Qaddafi's throwing a temper tantrum.
We haven't gotten out of Gitmo.
We haven't gotten out of Iraq.
We haven't gotten out of Afghanistan.
We threw Mubarak overboard.
And we're not getting rid of our nuclear weapons yet, although we've taken a couple of steps.
So Momar Gaddafi feeling betrayed here by his buddy.
September 28th, 2009.
CNN's Larry King Live.
He interviewed Moamar Qaddafi.
Larry King said, What are your thoughts about our president, Barake Obama?
My views uh are identical to the American views.
And we pray for him that he would be able to achieve the visions that he has in his mind and made it public.
And uh, we are uh comfortable.
Did you say he should be president forever?
Yeah, I hope so.
I wish that.
Why?
Uh the America Tunk of the Navy.
Because the vision he has will save America will save the world.
His vision.
So, King, where do you get this question?
Did you say he should be president forever?
Gaddafi's translated, yeah.
Why?
So Qaddafi has been very open about his uh love for admiration of Barack Obama.
Obama makes speech on Libya, doesn't mention Qaddafi's name.
What are you laughing at in there?
What are you laughing at?
Folks, I gotta tell you he's gone crazy in there.
I you know, I've I've had these laughing sp I've had these laughing spells myself, you know.
They had to take me out of the classroom and get me a glass of water, but you're literally going, um what do you think this whole first segment is a media tweak of the day?
Or is it just oh, how funny it sounds to talk about Gaddafi and his friend Obama.
You think think that sounds funny?
You think that sounds funny?
Get him a glass of water.
Put something in it.
By the way, folks, let's not forget here that uh Obama's spiritual mentor for 20 some years was probably still is a big fan of Qaddafi's uh Reverend Wright.
Reverend Jeremiah Wright made at least one pilgrimage, along with his close buddy the Reverend Farrakhan, to see Colonel Qaddafi back in 1984, and uh routinely cited Colonel Qaddafi from the pulpit.
Farrakhan has visited Qaddafi numerous times, has gotten millions from him for the nation of Islam, and also lest we forget Jeremiah Wright gave Farrakhan the Reverend Wright Lifetime Achievement Award just a couple of years ago.
So there is a there's an alliance there you can say between Minister Farrakhan, Reverend Wright, and uh President Obama.
Friends of Qaddafi, if you uh if you will.
Have you heard about this?
A Muslim plotted to use weapons of mass destruction on Bush 43.
Saudi man has been charged with plotting a terrorist attack.
The FBI's arrested a 20-year-old Saudi student in Texas suspected of planning a terror attack using explosive chemicals.
The FBI says his possible targets included a Dallas home of former President Bush.
Khalid Ali Im Al-Dasari, attending college near Lubbock, was charged with attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction.
Federal authorities say his diary indicated.
Obtained a scholarship so he could come directly to the United States to carry out jihad.
Alda Basari is expected to appear in federal court in Lubbock tomorrow morning.
Now we're all going to be looking eagerly Here at the EIB network to see how talk radio can be made to shoulder the blame for this.
We'll be eagerly watching the news wires, cable network channels, various blogs to see how it is that talk radio is responsible for this.
Obviously, this kind of idea had to have come from talk radio, correct?
This is one of the messages and mantras of this regime.
And less we forget here, folks, Obama has greatly ramped up the number of student exchanges we do with Muslim countries as part of his wonderful Muslim outreach program.
That's also part of NASA.
From the Herald son of Australia, Libyan leader Moamar Qaddafi personally ordered, personally ordered the 88 Lockerbie bombing amid warnings that Al-Qaeda had gained a foothold in the crumbling North African oil producer.
Anybody doubt that this is true?
I don't.
And we'll be back sit tight.
Hey, folks, let's uh pretend for just a second.
Pretend that you are the smartest person in the room, the wisest person in the world.
Pretend that you are Barack Obama.
President of the United States.
At this moment in time, what do you focus on?
What do you really focus on like a laser with everything going on in the world in the country today?
What do you make the biggest priority and the biggest production out of?
The jobs we need and aren't getting?
The exploding deficit that threatens our future?
How about the soaring price of oil?
And the fact that we have shut down a lot of our own domestic production.
The price of oil around the world is skyrocketing.
The Saudis are talking about ramping up their production.
How about the crisis in the Middle East?
I mean, for heaven's sake, a crisis is a terrible thing to waste, right?
Crisis in the Middle East, we have no job creation, the deficit continues to explode, the price of oil is soaring.
We are doing nothing about compensating for that in our own country.
How about Wisconsin?
Do you, if your president, the smartest person in the world, you focus on government unions?
And how they are choking state budgets?
Do you focus on the border?
Where unchecked illegal immigration continues?
You're the Messiah.
Tell me, what do you focus on?
And what's the answer?
Gay marriage.
Out of all the things going on in the country and the world today, Obama makes a big production out of gay marriage.
This is not no, this is not a stunt.
Obama, he knows how to stir the liberals.
He knows how to massage the media.
Of all the things going on, what do we get as a primary focus?
From our own president, declaring that the defense of marriage act is something he doesn't like anymore.
And so he's not going to defend it.
What exactly is Obama's plan B for oil?
If the Middle East erupts entirely, what is his plan C, what's his plan D?
He doesn't have any plan for it, because everything he does is oriented toward how can it help him?
He's out playing to the base.
He's flying out to Silicon Valley last week to raise campaign cash.
It's always about him.
He jumps into Arizona to pander to ethnic groups.
He jumps into Wisconsin to pander to the NEA, the SEIU, and other unions.
We're watching a president of the United States turn this country over to his cronies in and out of government, in and out of business and labor.
This is quite a display of arrogance, ideological self-serving arrogance.
Never seen it before in a president.
I've never seen a president that does not put his country first.
Never seen that.
But we're watching it right before our very eyes.
His first question is always, what will this do for me?
Whatever the issue is, whatever the story is, whatever the event is, what will this do for me?
And of course, the politico gets right in on the action, covering it all as a game, their headline, little downside scene for DOMA call.
Little downside for a president acting in an unconstitutional manner, simply saying, you know, I don't like that law, I'm not going to defend it anymore.
It's a law duly passed by the representatives of the people.
It has not been challenged at the U.S. Supreme Court.
He doesn't have the authority to declare it unconstitutional.
He does not have that power.
He does not have the power to say, we're going to defend it anymore.
And the politico does a story.
Can he get hurt by this?
We don't think so.
Little downside scene for DOMA call.
Well, okay then.
If there's little downside scene for a president to act in ways he is not empowered to according to the law, then the next conservative president can say, based on Obama's precedent.
You know what?
Obamacare is unconstitutional.
I am therefore directing my attorney general to stop defending it.
It doesn't exist.
We've looked at it.
I've never been comfortable with it, and it's just unconstitutional.
We're not going to defend it anymore.
A conservative president could say, I am directing my attorney general to stop defending the EPA's carbon dioxide regulations.
I don't like what they're doing there.
It's not uh it's not their, it's not their purview, so EPA stand down.
You can't do it.
My administration is not going to defend that anymore.
A conservative president could then say I am directing my attorney general to stop defending the so-called financial reform bill.
I don't happen to agree with this bill.
I don't like it.
I never liked it when it was being debated.
I never thought it should have passed, and so I don't care about anything else.
My attorney general has just said that we're not going to defend it anymore.
So if if there's parts of the financial reform bill that prevent you from doing something, go ahead and do it now.
Because I'm not going to prosecute you.
There is no law.
I'm just going to strike it.
Can you imagine?
Would the politicos be doing stories of President Palin, little downside scene for a call on Obamacare.
Can you can you imagine that?
Can you imagine anybody in the media doing a story on the next conservative president?
You know, I don't think this guy's going to get any trouble here.
Seeing Obamacare is not going to be defended anymore.
It'd be just the opposite.
They'd be demanding the impeachment of said president.
Next conservative president can say, I have concluded these laws don't pass constitutional muster.
I've decided to drop any defense of them.
I, the president, I don't like these laws.
They don't, they don't count to me.
So what's happened here?
Barack Obama has decided he's not going to enforce the law.
He is not enforcing a federal judge's ruling in Florida because he disagrees with it.
Judge Vinson.
The constitutionality of Obamacare.
He is not enforcing a federal ruling in Louisiana to allow deep offshore drilling.
Federal ruling says his moratorium is illegal.
But to hell with the federal ruling.
Barack Obama disagrees with it.
Essentially, Barack Obama has said, you know what?
I'm the Supreme Court.
We don't need one anymore.
I don't like the Defense of Marriage Act.
Neither does my attorney general.
Neither do my gay supporters and contributors.
So you know what?
We're not going to defend it anymore.
I don't care what the Supreme Court thinks, it doesn't matter.
I have decided.
Imagine a conservative president doing this, Say on abortion.
This is lawlessness.
There's no other way to characterize this.
This is lawlessness.
He's not securing the southern border.
He's not enforcing immigration laws.
That is why Arizona's having to act independently.
And who does he what does he do?
He sues them.
He sues the state of Arizona.
He's taken sides against a United States governor in Wisconsin.
And we'll be taking sides against many more governors as the days unfold.
So let's step back.
Imagine, for the fun of it, Sarah Palin is elected president.
I pick Palin only because they hate her the most.
And I'm not running.
Imagine that Sarah Palin appoints scores of czars who are not confirmed by the Senate.
These czars run the government out of the White House.
They bypass the cabinet structure.
Imagine that President Palin appoints as attorney general a politically partisan conservative.
Imagine that attorney general takes orders from Palin on active cases, and she orders that attorney general to stop defending lawsuits against aspects of Roe v.
Wade to stop defending lawsuits against Obamacare.
To stop defending lawsuits against the EPA's greenhouse gas regulations.
Imagine if President Palin directs her attorney general to sue California to enforce border security and to stop granting taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens in violation of the supremacy clause.
Imagine if President Palin did all this.
Imagine President Palin ordering the Republican National Committee to work with businesses, managers, and executives that contributed tens of millions of dollars to her campaign to defeat her political opponents, especially big labor.
In places like New York, New Jersey, Michigan, California intervening in the affairs of states.
Obama's doing this.
Imagine if President Palin did it.
Gets hold of the guy who runs the RNC.
I want you to have meetings with business people that contribute a lot of money to my campaign.
Imagine President Palin decides that she will not comply with federal court rulings that she disagrees with, as in Florida and Louisiana.
Imagine, if you will, President Palin meeting weekly with CEOs of the oil industry, of the insurance industry, and of the health care industry.
In order to help them profit and prosper.
Imagine if President Palin meets with these groups to try to repair the damage done by the previous President Barack Obama.
Imagine a state of the Union.
In the House of Representative Chamber, President Palin attacking the sitting justices of the U.S. Supreme Court, humiliating them for a ruling in a case in a manner that she disagrees with.
Imagine President Palin hiring a fashion person and putting her on the public payroll and telling everybody what to eat while she and Todd eat whatever they want on trips to places like Vail.
While her husband is eating hamburgers and fries and ice cream.
Imagine President Palin sending her kids to the most expensive private school in Washington, while at the same time killing a school choice program for poor minorities in the inner city of Washington.
And folks, I could go on and on and on.
It explains everything.
This sickening spectacle that is the left, whether they pretend to be journalists, whether they are politicians, this is a dangerous force in this nation.
We have to continue to expose them.
That's all we can do.
That is what we will do.
In the meantime, however, it's time for a profit timeout, an obscene profit timeout here at the EIV Network so that we may go on.
And we're back.
It's Rush Limbaugh.
Already Thursday, fastest week in media.
Happy to have you along.
What is, ladies and gentlemen, what is Obama's plan for dealing with high oil and gas prices?
I asked this mere moments ago.
It's worth asking again.
What are we going to do?
Price of oil is skyrocketing.
We have a drilling moratorium in this country.
We've got no way to make up for this high cost of oil with the cheaper oil produced in this country.
He's got it shut down.
What's he gonna do about that?
Oh, I know he's gonna tax the oil company.
Yeah, tax the okay.
Make sure they don't profit from all this obscene increase in price.
Saudis are talking about increasing production.
What are we doing?
We are killing drilling.
And Obama's gonna blame it all on Libya and the oil companies when it is he and his policies unilaterally capping wells and driving up costs.
He cannot get away with avoiding responsibility for this.
His cronies everywhere, including in the media, will do everything they can to see to it that he gets away with it, and that blame is assigned elsewhere.
Dexter, Missouri, is our first.
I used to used to go there on a bus.
My uh my mother would send me to see my grandmother in a Kenneth, Missouri had a change buses in Dexter.
Dexter, Missouri.
Don't remember much about it other than the bus station.
Well, there was a truck stop there.
They had to sent me into once.
My grandmother met me there one time, and state trooper walked in.
If he's gonna get you, he's gonna get you.
And I said, Oh my gosh, so I grew up being afraid of state troopers.
I saw a smokey, you know, I went the other way.
Like eight or nine years old, he's gonna get you!
So what did I do?
So who do we have here from Dexter, Missouri?
Caleb.
Hello, Caleb.
Welcome to the EIB network, sir.
Hey Russ, how are you doing?
Good, thank you.
Question for you.
It's kind of concerned about this.
What's going on in the Middle East?
Do you think that it has to do with our president?
Or do you think it has to do with our economy?
As far as the turmoil going on with Libya, Egypt.
If you could just answer that for me.
I think it has to do with our president or our economy.
Where do you get those two choices?
I figured it was one or the other, the reason why there's so much going on right now with violence and...
Dictators being overthrown, everything happening over there.
Well, I think, as I I touched on this a couple days ago and yesterday, clearly, around the world, there is no fear of the United States.
The United States does not carry any moral authority any longer.
There's no fear, there's no there's no uh concern over there that the United States will assert itself on behalf of the trampled.
On behalf of the uh of the downtrodden.
Uh I just I I think you have morally corrupt regimes in that region, and I believe that morally corrupt regimes eventually implode.
They cannot sustain themselves.
And I think largely one of the things that's happening is is that with communications what it is.
I never forget this.
The uh the old Soviet Union.
Gorbachev.
Gorbachev once said he knew.
He knew their days were numbered when Dallas DVDs started showing up.
Because the Soviet regime had spent all of its life telling people what life was like in America, and they had totally lied about how dismal the lives here in America were, how economically uh decrepit they were in.
They saw Dallas.
And then they saw Dynasty, and they saw these high-fashion blue jeans.
When they figured out they could get blue jeans in the Soviet Union, that was the end of it.
It was just, it was uh not the total end.
It did needed a catalyst and so forth, but people started questioning what they had been told.
Uh I think there's a crisis of Islam, and there's a rising uh amount of of uh uh Christianity in that region not being reported on much.
I think there are a lot of factors that are that are leading to this.
The one thing that's not being done is the appropriate advantage being taken by us to spread decency and good over there.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
Hi, welcome back, Rush Limboss, serving humanity simply by showing up.
The turmoil in the Middle East is the haves versus the half-nots, just like the turmoil in Wisconsin.
Haves versus half-nots.
By the way, when you're out there pretending, ladies and gentlemen, that you're Sarah Palin, President Palin.
Imagine that you don't have a birth certificate.
Export Selection
